rewatching the cleanup arc shortly after rereading it in the manga is really making me realize how much better paced this arc is in the manga
#no wonder my first reaction was 'holy shit why is ritsu acting like this it seems like such a quick change'#it's bc in the manga they take way more time with it lmao#i love both the anime and the manga in their own ways and i would never pit two bad bitches against each other#but if i were to recommend two arcs to read in the manga it would be the cleanup arc and the confession arc#bc the anime cut so much that i felt really added to those arcs#and also the divine tree arc but that's just bc i love it so much#that one was pretty well adapted in the anime but that's bc they redrew a bunch of the panels from the manga#bc the art in that arc is so damn good#ANYWAY i digress#the cleanup arc in the manga really lets you linger in the guilt ritsu feels#and i feel like it shows his thoughts and why he's behaving like this more effectively#poor kid. most haunted thirteen year old.
