Afterlife - Nothing but Thieves

I poured a lot of my own feelings onto this fanart. I wanted to create a calm and cozy scene, like one of those moments when you forget that the world and time exist and you feel everything it's OK for just a little. Being surrounded with flowers while being hold by a loved one seemed the best way to represent that. Thanatos is the incarnation of death and the flowers are mallows, which represent death too at least in my country. So this drawing is about Zagreus being surrounded by a peaceful kind of death after one of his tries to reach the surface.

I had to be really cautious while drawing this, my family and many of my acquaintances are not ok with the gays. To be honest, Zagreus here is in a position I would like to be. Not the dying part, you know. I feel I can understand all those artists of the past that drew scenes from greek myths as a way to represent queerness. I'm not as good as them, but well, I'll be there in some years, I just need to try and try and try. I think Zagreus is relatable af if you think about it. We all have a place to reach.
