Tom Holland x Twin!Sister
Summary: Reader has a crush on Harrison, but he brings home his new girlfriend
Warnings: Heartbreak, angst, feelings not reciprocated
A/N: This might be my last fic for a little bit. I’m working on me, but I do get random motivation to write and I like to take advantage of it and write when I’m in the mood. Please don’t ask me when I’ll have another fic out.

When Tom brought Harrison home to hangout for the first time, you immediately had a crush. Over the years, you kept your feelings to yourself, but the intensity grew. You loved Harrison. You never told your twin brother and best friend, Tom. Harrison was your friend. He would hate you if he knew your true feelings.
Lately, Harrison has been acting more shy and sweet around you. He would text you everyday to check up on you while he was in France for a fashion show. With Harrison acting like that, you thought maybe he finally had feelings for you. So today, when Tom came into your room to tell you Harrison was back in town, you decided then that you would tell him how you feel.
Tom told you tonight you would be going for dinner and drinks with Harrison as well as Sam and Harryl. So you spent the day getting ready. You didn’t want it to look like you were trying too hard, but you wanted to look your best. Look good, feel good type of thing.
As you were getting ready to leave your bedroom, you heard Harrison greet Tom. You smiled as you listened to their banter. You walked down the hall to the living room to see Harrison’s back. You smiled as he turned to you.
“Y/N!” Harrison yelled as he came over to give you a hug. “How’ve you been?”
“I’ve been good. Just ready for a good night with good people.” You said with a wink. He laughed. You noticed a woman come stand next to Harrison. Harrison wrapped his arm around her shoulder. You felt your heart fall.
“Y/N, this is Grace. My girlfriend. Grace, this is Y/N, Tom’s little sister.” Harrison said. You faked a smile and said hello to her.
“It’s nice to meet you.” You said trying to hold in all emotions. Your heart was broken. Tom looked over at you concerned when he heard your tone change. You ignored him and continued to smile at the couple.
“Y/N I’ve heard a lot of good things about you. Harrison just adores you like you are his own sister.” Grace said. You felt like you had been stabbed in the heart.
“Should we head out? I'm getting hungry?” You said with a fake laugh.
“Let’s go.” Harrison said, guiding Grace to his car. “Y/N come ride with us.” Harrison yelled as he opened the back door for you. You nodded and moved to the car. After you got in and shut the door, you looked over to see Tom climbing in as well.
“Hope you don’t mind. Harry said he’s swinging by to grab Sam and Pads.” Tom said.
“Not at all.” Harrison smiled before driving off. You sat there quiet. You knew Tom knew something was up but you chose to ignore him. Grace and Harrison talked most of the ride anyways, so the need to input anything never occurred.
After getting to the restaurant and ordering drinks, you finally broke your silence, “so how long have you two been together?” You asked. You looked over at Harrison and noticed him shift uncomfortably.
“Unofficially, it’s been five months, officially it’s been four.” Grace answered and smiled at Haz. You froze. That’s when you noticed him acting different around you. You shook yourself out of thought and smiled at them. “I’m so happy for you.” You said.
Dinner was fine. You felt awkward the whole time since they were still in the honeymoon phase of their relationship and were constantly doing cutesy stuff and touching each other's arms or holding hands. When you finally arrived home, your chest felt so tight that you felt like you couldn’t breathe. You thanked Harrison and Grace for dinner before you ran off to your room. You locked it before burying yourself in your bed. You were trying to get your breathing under control and to hold back the tears. No boy was worth your tears. Not even stupid, adorable blonde ones.
You heard a knock on your door but chose to ignore it. You heard the knob jiggle and a soft grunt. Next thing you know, Tom is right there beside you pulling you into a hug. Before you broke down, you saw Harry and Sam standing at the edge of the bed.
“It’s not fair.” You sobbed as you turned into Tom’s chest. Tom squeezed you tighter and closed his eyes. It hurt him so much to see his twin in so much pain. He shushed you as he ran his hand up and down your back. Once you finally calmed down enough, Tom pulled you away from his chest, “what isn’t fair?”
“Life. Love. Everything.” You said as you pulled away to lay down with your back to your brothers. Tom wasn’t having it and turned you back around to look at him. You scoffed, but sat up and leaned against the headboard, holding the Spider-Man bear Tom gave you when he left to film Civil War.
“Tell us what happened? Because you were so excited to see Harrison and then all of a sudden you were acting like you didn’t want to be anywhere near him.” Sam said.
“I.. I was going to tell him how I felt about him today.” You felt tears at the back of your eyes again. Tom pulled you back into a hug.
“How do you feel about him?” Harry asked softly.
“I love him.” You said before crying even harder. Tom looked back to Sam and Harry with shocked eyes. Tom had told you about the times he was in love, but you’ve never spoken once about love.
“What do you mean?” Sam asked. “Did something happen between you? Did he try to date you and then get with Grace?”
You continued to cry. You couldn’t catch your breath long enough to try to stop crying. Tom kissed the top of your head as he rubbed up and down your back. “It’s okay y/n. Try to breathe for me. Try to calm down for me. I don’t want you to make yourself sick.” Tom said gently.
You took a few minutes focusing on Tom’s breathing and heartbeat. Trying to match yours to his. After finally calming down enough to talk, you were so exhausted. You kept your head on Tom’s chest and stayed hugging him as you finally started to tell your brothers everything.
“I’ve always had a crush on him. Then recently he started acting nicer to me. Not that he wasn’t before, but it felt different. He was also acting shy. I just got it in my head that he liked me too. So while he was gone, I worked on my confidence. When Tom said he was coming home, I figured why not tell him and get it over with. Then he introduced me to Grace.” You sighed. “Did you guys know?”
You felt Tom tense before whispering, “yes.” You nodded your head as you heard Harry agree with Tom and Sam say “no.”
“If I knew how you felt, I would have told you. Harrison didn’t really want to tell anyone yet. He wanted to see if it was going to work out. And he wanted to keep it from fans for a little while.” Tom said.
“I get it.” You said pulling away from Tom to lay down on your bed. You grabbed the Spider-Man bear again. “Love sucks. But I’ll get over it. If he’s happy with her, then I’m happy for him. I’m not going to sabotage it or anything.”
“That’s good to know.” Tom laughed. Sam and Harry each gave you a kiss on the head before leaving the room. “Really, are you okay?”
“No, but I will be.” You said honestly. Tom laid down beside you and grabbed the bear from you.
“I can’t believe you still have this.” Tom said with almost disbelief.
“Why would I get rid of it?” You asked him.
“I don’t know. Figured you would have put it in a box or gave it away. I got this as a joke since you said I probably didn’t actually get the part since Sony had been hacked.” Tom laughed at the memory.
“I love my bear. He’s the one I run to for comfort. Especially when I miss you when you're gone.” You said.
“I’m glad you have it.” He turned and smiled at you. He looked at your tear struck face and red, puffy eyes. He felt bad. “I’m really sorry I didn’t tell you about Grace.”
“It’s okay.” You whispered and looked down.
“If you ever feel like you need to talk, I’m here to listen. Always. I’ll never judge you.” He said.
“I was just afraid you would get mad at me since he was your best friend.” You said.
“Never.” He said, making you look at him. “I might have been upset, but I would never get mad at you or hate you for your feelings. Heck I dated someone you would occasionally hang out with.”
“I forgot about that.” You laughed.
“So never be afraid of me or my reaction. I’ll always try not to overreact.” He said. “If you want, I can tell Haz not to bring Grace over for a bit. That way you don’t have to see them together.”
“No, it’s okay. It’ll hurt for a bit, but maybe it’ll help me get over my crush.” You said.
“If you change your mind, let me know. I won’t tell him why she can’t come, but I’ll tell him.” Tom said. You smiled at him. “Now, do you want to watch a movie?”
“Gifted?” You asked sheepishly.
“Next time I see Chris, I’m telling him you are obsessed with him.” Tom taunted.
“NO!” You yelled. “I haven’t even met him yet. At least let me meet him before you embarrass me.”
“Okay, okay. Next time I know I’m going to see him, I’ll bring you with me. Then while you're standing right there, I’ll tell him.” You rolled your eyes as Tom laughed.

Christmas With The Hollands
A/N This has been in my drafts since around September as I LOVE CHRISTMAS, it’s my favourite holiday of the year. I was going to wait until closer to The Big Day to post this, but I wanted to get some original content out there to make up for my abhorrent lack of original posts. Enjoy! Also - I cannot be the only one who thinks that Christmas with the Hollands would be the best time EVER?
Warnings: none!
Word count: 2.4k - more under the cut! (I’m so sorry this is so long)
You and Tom had been dating for just over a year, and you were now part of the Holland family. As such, you were top of the guest list at the exclusive Holland family Christmas lunch every Christmas Day.
This Christmas was no exception.
Once you had put the finishing touches on the magnificent chocolate roulade you had made, and Tom had given Tessa a lengthy walk so she wouldn’t be too energetic while you guys were enjoying your Christmas lunch, the three of you dashed out into the frigid suburban air and into the warmth of Tom’s Range Rover.
‘Have you got everyone’s presents?’ You checked. He nodded, laughing.
‘Yes, love, for the third time today, I have everyone’s presents.’
‘Just checking! We don’t want a repeat of Christmas 2017.’ You both winced at the memory; due to a calamitous miscommunication, both of you had forgotten to bring the presents for the entire family, and were unable to retrieve them from your apartment as the traffic was so busy.
‘Don’t worry, love, I have definitely got them. I just hope Tessa doesn’t eat them.’ You thumped his arm, rolling your eyes.
The car cruised along the M25 towards London, the traffic piling up rapidly. Tom took the exit for his parents’ house, and before you knew it, you were parked outside the semi-detached townhouse.
‘I’ll take Tess and the roulade, you can take the presents!’ You immediately hopped out and carried Tessa out of her crate in the boot of the car. Tom just chuckled and obliged, carrying the two gift bags full of Christmas goodies for the Holland family.
Walking with Tess up the short driveway, you knocked on the door.
‘Y/N! How lovely to see you, my darling, Merry Christmas!’ Nikki opened the door, a festive apron tied around her waist and partially covering a cosy Christmas jumper. The delicious smell of Christmas lunch immediately wafted over you, and the sound of Michael Bublé’s Christmas album flowed softly from the speakers in the living room. The Holland house was one of your favourite places, made even better by the people who lived in it.
‘Hi, Nikki! Merry Christmas!’ You exchanged hugs and kisses.
‘That pudding looks incredible! Come in, come in!’ Nikki took the roulade, leaving a hand free to allow you to take your shoes off, before you led Tessa inside. Dom, Harry, Sam and Paddy were in the kitchen. ‘Hey, Hollands, Merry Christmas!’ you cheered, going round and giving everyone hugs.
‘Where’s your boy, Y/N?’ Dom asked as you broke apart from your hug.
‘He’s probably putting the presents under the tree! Ah, there he is!’ As if on cue, Tom came hurrying in.
‘Hi, dad, hey, guys!’ You looked on as he hugged his family, a small smile on your face. Nikki busied herself with the preparation of the lunch.
‘Nikki, can I do anything to help?’ You offered, feeling guilty about sitting around and doing nothing.
‘Oh, you’re such a darling! If you could start peeling potatoes, that would be amazing! Harry, help Y/N peel potatoes, Sam and Paddy, peel the carrots and parsnips and Tom, you can sit there and look pretty.’ You all laughed; Tom was notoriously bad in the kitchen, and you mostly did the cooking. Harry joined you at the sink as you peeled potato after potato, taking part in the conversation and just taking in the Christmas atmosphere. Christmas at the Hollands was truly something special.
‘So, Y/N, any hint on what my present is?’ Harry asked cheekily. You poked him gently with the peeler.
‘No, you silly goose, that’ll ruin the surprise!’
‘What about mine, Y/N?’ Paddy protested from across the counter.
‘Okay, Pads, all I’m going to say is that you’re going to need a lot of time set aside these holidays to do it. I shall reveal no further information at this time!’ Tom smiled, loving the sight of you getting along so well with his family, the ones who meant the most to him along with you.
Nikki had completely fallen for you the first time she’d met you, as did Dom. Your nerves of meeting his parents quickly dissipated as soon as they welcomed you with open arms into their home, and Paddy absolutely adored having an unofficial big sister.
‘Hey, Tom, where’s Haz?’ Sam asked.
‘He’s with his family in Suffolk, mate, he has got other family other than us,’ Tom replied, sarcasm dripping from his voice; if there was anything Tom did better than acting, it was sarcasm. You giggled.
‘Alright, Nikki, that’s it for the potatoes! Anything else you want me to do? I lay a fine table, how about I lay the table?’ Nikki nodded enthusiastically, showing you where the Christmas crackers and festive napkins were kept. You busied yourself by laying the table in its full festive gear, missing Nikki whisper “keep her!” to Tom, and him reply to her “don’t worry, I’m planning on it”.
*
The family was at last sitting round the table, plates piled high with a delicious turkey, roast potatoes, carrots, parsnips, stuffing and all the trimmings of a traditional Christmas lunch.
‘Alright guys, before we tuck in to this delicious meal, I would like to make a toast!’ Tom stood up and raised his glass. ‘As you all know, I introduced you to my wonderful girlfriend Y/N earlier this year, and I would like to make a toast to her for making me the happiest I have ever been. This year has not been easy, with all the Marvel and Disney and Sony drama and then the movie and reshoots and everything. Yet, through all of that, Y/N has been right there by my side, never wavering with her wise words of wisdom and funny jokes and puns. Having her along for the press tour for Far From Home was the best decision of my life, and I am so grateful to have her in my life. I think we can all say that she brings joy to all of our lives.’
‘Hear, hear!’ Dom hollered.
‘Can you hurry up? I’m starving,’ Paddy whined.
‘Alright, pal, I’m done. To Y/N, and many more Christmases with her!’ Everyone raised their glasses in your direction, leaving you blushing beetroot red, before tucking in to their meals.
‘Thanks, babe, but you didn’t need to do that,’ you muttered in a low voice to Tom, who was sat next to you.
‘All of it is true. You are phenomenal.’ You leant in and kissed him gently.
*
Lunch was closely followed by a couple slices of your roulade, which went down a treat with everyone.
Everyone was extremely full, but Paddy (and Sam and Harry, although they didn’t want to admit it) were eager to open their presents, so you all adjourned to the living room, you and Tom on one sofa, Nikki and Dom on a chair each and Sam, Paddy and Harry on the other sofa.
As always, the presents were handed out, and once everyone had all their presents, you all dived in and opened your presents.
‘Oh, Nikki, this is wonderful!’
‘Wow, Paddy, this is great!’
‘Haha, Sam. Very funny!’
You looked down at your lap, all but one of your presents opened; you had received some very nice Chanel perfume from Nikki, a framed picture of you and Tom from Harry that he’d taken, a new book by your favourite author from Dom, a new PS4 game from Paddy (you were a big gamer, all thanks to Tom) and a pair of earrings from Sam (you had assumed that Elysia had helped him picked them out).
‘Go on, babe, open that one!’ Tom encouraged, keeping his voice low. ‘It’s from me.’ You looked at him, a look that said nothing but “no shit!” on your face.
It was a medium-sized rectangular box. You ripped the paper off, opened the box and your jaw dropped.
‘Oh, Tom!’ It was an incredibly expensive and fancy Michael Kors watch, the one you’d seen in Harrods a few weeks prior and immediately swooned over it, but persuaded yourself that you wouldn’t make any extravagant purchases in the weeks leading up to Christmas. ‘Oh, honey, you didn’t!’
‘Oh, but I did. I saw how much you liked it and knew it would be a perfect first Christmas present. Go on, try it on!’ You were acutely aware of the whole family’s attention on the two of you, but as you carefully prised the watch out of its case, it was as if you were the only people in the room. Tom helped you put it on, as the clasp was a bit fiddly, but once it was on, it twinkled slightly in the lights from the Christmas tree opposite you.
‘Oh, Tom, it’s perfect. Thank you so much. And thank you for all of your gifts, they’re wonderful!’ A chorus of “thank yous” and “you’re welcomes” ensued, and you saw Paddy lean in and whisper something in his mother’s ear. She smiled at him and gently pushed him towards you, your gift of an Avengers LEGO in his hands.
‘Hey, Y/N?’ It was the first time you’d seen the young boy, usually so confident and outgoing, this shy and quiet.
‘Yes, Padster?’ Again, Tom found himself gazing at you in adoration. He knew you were always good with kids, but it meant a lot to him that you were so fond of his youngest brother, who was admittedly your favourite Holland brother.
‘Do you think you’d be able to help me with this?’ Your lips curled into a fond smile.
‘That sounds like the perfect Boxing Day activity, little man! We can tackle it tomorrow, what do you say?’ He nodded enthusiastically, and hugged you tightly. ‘Aww, you’re the best, Paddy. Thank you for your gift, it’s just what I needed to spend the rest of the holidays doing!’
After everyone had finished opening their gifts, you and Tom helped Nikki and Dom tidy away all the wrapping paper.
‘Babe, I’m just going into the kitchen to text some of the guys and send them our Christmas wishes, okay?’ Tom murmured in your ear, one arm winding its way around your waist.
‘Sure, babe, say hi to Chris for me, and tell Seb and Anthony I miss them!’ He grinned, kissing your temple.
‘Will do, darling!’ He hurried out of the living room, phone in hand, leaving you to finish putting the last of the wrapping paper into a bin bag with Nikki.
‘It’s been a long time since I’ve seen him this happy and relaxed,’ she remarked. You smiled shyly.
‘He really needed this break. The whole debacle with Marvel and Sony had him incredibly stressed. His face when he got the news that he was back in the game made me cry.’
‘I bet! He wouldn’t have gotten through it if it weren’t for you, I daresay.’ Her comment made you stop and look at her. ‘Believe me, he said it himself. He said something like you keep him saner than anyone he knows. He has Harrison, of course, but having you, someone who isn’t in the industry, offer him a place of solace where he can take his mind off the pressures of being Spider-Man and the “next Robert Downey Jr”, as the internet has called him, is a real gift. We have so much to thank you for, Y/N, really. You’re so special.’ You didn’t quite know what to say, so you just stepped forward to hug her.
‘Thank you, Nikki. You have an incredibly special son, too. He is one of a kind.’ She started laughing.
‘Isn’t that the truth!’
A comfortable silence arose between you, but it was quickly interrupted by Paddy, who came rushing in, begging his mum to put a Christmas movie on. ‘Alright, guys, let’s watch a Christmas movie! Home Alone?’ You and Paddy cheered.
‘I’ll go see where Tom is, he loves Home Alone!’ You excused yourself and went into the kitchen, where you saw Tom on the phone to someone. You felt bad for listening in, but you were curious.
‘…Yeah, she’s fantastic, Rob, she really is. She helped me so much through all this manic stuff with Marvel and Sony … absolutely, the way things are going, she’s the one for me … alright, mate, I’ll let you go and enjoy the day, see you soon, bud … you too, bye!’ Your heart was practically singing.
‘So, you’re on first name terms with Downey, huh?’ You smirked as you strolled into the kitchen. Tom whirled around, surprised, then smiled when he saw it was you.
‘Yep, we go way back, me and him!’ You both laughed, and you wound your arms around his torso as you came close to him.
‘Thank you for bringing me today, I’ve had such a lovely time. Christmas was never really… fun back home, with my stepdad and stuff, so I really appreciate having you guys as my second family.’ He smiled, thinking how he ever got so lucky.
‘I think I speak for the entirety of my family when I say that you are always welcome here, and if things ever go south at home, my bed can always fit two.’ He winked.
‘Is that so?’ Your eyes met his, and as your lips met in a sweet kiss, you heard a camera click. Breaking apart, you saw Harry in the doorway, face bright red as his arms fell to his sides.
‘Sorry, guys, I just wanted to try out my new lens! As you were…’ Both you and Tom started laughing as he backed away sheepishly.
‘Hey, Harry!’ You called out.
‘Yeah?!’
‘Send me that pic?’ Tom laughed harder, resting his head on your shoulder.
‘Will do.’ You turned back to face Tom, who was gazing at you in complete adoration.
‘The family are watching Home Alone in the living room, let’s go watch!’ You tried to walk away, but Tom grabbed you and pulled you close.
‘I just want us to be alone for just a few minutes more…’ His arms pulled you into his chest, and you breathed in his warm, earthy scent. ‘I love you, Y/N. You make me so happy.’ Your heart swelled.
‘And I love you too, Tommy. Come on, let’s go watch the movie.’ You took his hand and led him into the living room, where you sat on his lap as you and the rest of the family watched the movie in comfortable silence.
By the time Kevin was reunited with his family, your extended family was all asleep, sleeping away another magical Christmas Day.

Best PlayStation 5 Gifts: PS5 Games and Gadgets for Holiday 2020
https://ift.tt/eA8V8J
The PlayStation 5 is essentially sold out everywhere, though sporadic restocks are expected at retailers between now and Christmas. If you’re lucky enough to snag one, you’re going to make the gamer in your life very happy this holiday season.
If you have managed to track a PS5 down, there are plenty of accessories and games that would make perfect companion pieces to Sony’s next-gen console. To help you out a bit, Den of Geek has picked the best PS5 gifts to get this holiday:
PlayStation 5
$499.99 with disc drive, $399.99 without disc drive
The hottest gift of the holidays, Sony’s hulking white monolith, actually comes in two varieties. The more expensive version includes a disc drive that plays physical PS5 and PS4 discs, plus 4K UHD Blu-ray movies. For $100 less, you can pick up the exact same console minus the disc drive, meaning all games will have to be downloaded digitally.
Regardless of which console you pick up, the PS5 boasts fantastic 4K graphics at 60 fps for most games, backwards compatibility with almost the entire PS4 library, the very fun pack-in game Astro Bot Rescue Mission, and the most revolutionary controller released in years.
Buy the PS5 on Amazon.
DualSense Wireless Controller
$59.99
At first glance, the DualSense looks a lot like previous PlayStation controllers, but after just a few minutes, it becomes clear that it provides a much more immersive experience than anything that’s come before. Thanks to haptic feedback, every in-game movement has its own distinct feel. Running on a solid floor makes the controller rumble with tiny taps, while getting hit by an enemy causes a much stronger vibration.
Adding to the immersion are the adaptive triggers. You can actually feel resistance while attempting to perform certain actions in a game. The new Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War has made fantastic use of this feature by giving each gun in the game its own amount of “pull.”
And if all that wasn’t enough, the controller had room left over for a built-in microphone for quick in-game chat if you don’t have a headset handy. While one DualSense is included with the console, you’re definitely going to want to pick up a second one for multiplayer games.
Buy the DualSense Wireless Controller on Amazon.
DualSense Charging Station
$29.99
Once you have two DualSense Wireless controllers, keeping them charged and ready to game at all times can be a bit tricky due to the limited number of USB ports on the PS5. The DualSense Charging Station is an elegant, inexpensive solution that can be connected to any outlet in your home, freeing up the console’s USB ports for other devices.
Buy the DualSense Charging Station on Amazon.
Pulse 3D Wireless Headset
$99.99
While it hasn’t received as much attention as the PS5’s graphical upgrades and faster loading times, 3D audio is poised to be another game changer this generation- if you have the right set up for it. With the Pulse 3D Wireless Headset, you can actually hear where in-game movement is coming from, so that if something sneaks up behind you, that should come through the headset almost like someone is in the room with you. This one should definitely make horror games more interesting.
Buy the Pulse 3D Wireless Headset on Amazon.
HD Camera
$59.99
With the next generation of consoles allowing even more options than ever before for capturing screenshots and video, streaming is going to be a bigger part of gaming in the coming years. If you know a gamer who likes to broadcast their PS5 sessions to Twitch or YouTube directly from their console, Sony’s HD Camera provides a crystal clear picture for streaming. And considering that Sony has a long history of coupling cameras with unique game mechanics or peripherals like the PlayStation VR, it’s probably a good idea to get one now before they’re really in-demand in a couple of years.
By the HD Camera on Amazon.
Media Remote
$29.99
As fantastic of a controller as the DualSense is, it’s not really optimized for media playback. Thankfully, the Media Remote offers much better functionality in that department, especially if you’re someone who uses the PS5 to stream movies or TV shows. This handy little peripheral includes buttons for easily navigating menus, rewinding, and fast forwarding. A few other buttons even go directly to some of the most popular streaming apps like Disney+ and Netflix. While not necessary for every PS5 user, it’s definitely a useful gadget to have on hand.
Buy the Media Remote on Amazon.
WD My Passport 4TB Portable Hard Drive
$89.99
All PS5 games must be played off of its lightning fast internal SSD. Unfortunately, that 1 TB SSD only really comes with about 665 GB of usable storage out of the box, which means fairly small library of PS4 and PS5 games can fill it up fast. Sony has promised a solution to this issue down the line, although external SSDs fast enough to meet the PS5’s specifications aren’t yet available. In the meantime, a good old-fashioned mechanical external hard drive is a really good idea if you plan to play PS4 games on your next-gen console. Backwards compatible games can be played directly from the external drive, and they still benefit from the PS5’s increased resolution.
Buy the 4TB Portable Hard Drive on Amazon.
Demon’s Souls
$69.99
The original Demon’s Souls on the PS3 has always been well regarded, but it’s also a little janky and hasn’t aged particularly well. Fortunately, the PS5’s biggest launch title has solved those issues with an absolutely stunning remake that cranks the graphics up to 11 while adding several quality of life improvements that make the classic feel as smooth as any modern title. Plus, new weapons, armors, and rings offer surprises even for returning players who explored all of the original’s secrets.
Just like the original, the PS5 version of Demon’s Souls is a difficult game, but it’s oh so satisfying once you’ve finally conquered all of the game’s tough hulking bosses. This game is a must-buy for those who aren’t easily frustrated.
Buy Demon’s Souls for PS5 on Amazon.
Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales
$49.99
Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales isn’t quite a full-fledged sequel to Insomniac’s acclaimed 2018 Spider-Man game, but it’s still a fantastic follow-up. The new focus on Miles Morales, who was introduced in the comics less than a decade ago, is a fun way to explore a younger Spider-Man growing into his powers. That’s something that’s always been an integral part of the character but the first game ignored due to its focus on an older, more experienced Peter Parker. The switch in protagonists also means you’ll get to check out some of Miles’ (arguably) cooler powers like electric shocks and temporary invisibility. It’s the ideal gift for any superhero fan.

Sackboy: A Big Adventure
$59.99
Most of the PS5 launch hype has been focused on Demon’s Souls and Spider-Man: Miles Morales, but don’t sleep on Sackboy. Unlike the 2.5D creation-focused LittleBigPlanet series that the adorable little mascot hails from, Sackboy is a full-fledged 3D platformer featuring tight controls, surprising power ups, and an incredibly charming story. Sackboy is a lovely throwback to the lighter platformers that used to accompany console launches, and it may end up being the most underrated game of the year.
Buy Sackboy: A Big Adventure for PS5 on Amazon.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
$59.99
For years now, the Assassin’s Creed series has been pumping out absolutely massive adventure games where players can live out their historical fantasies. The first next-gen installment, Valhalla, is a fantastic exploration of Viking history and culture in the ninth century, effectively mixing some of the best combat and stealth features of prior games in the series with violent battles for control of Medieval England.
But let’s be real here: the biggest selling point is the graphics. Valhalla’s open-world looks absolutely stunning in full 4K on the PS5.
Buy Assassin’s Creed Valhalla on Amazon.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War
$69.99
Call of Duty games are a reliable choice for those who enjoy multiplayer gaming. While the series has had its ups and downs, this year’s offering features a solid selection of multiplayer maps and a chaotic new 40-player mode called Fireteam. The crowd-pleasing Zombies mode also makes a return and looks better than ever on next-gen consoles. If that isn’t enough, Black Ops Cold War features one of the best Call of Duty campaigns in years, even if it doesn’t have the staying power of the multiplayer modes.

Cyberpunk 2077
$59.99
Arguably the most anticipated game of 2020, Cyberpunk 2077 will finally hit shelves in December. This sci-fi RPG takes place in a massive open-world in the distant future where bio-organic implants are the norm and tech-enhanced crime gangs rule the streets. It also features Keanu Reeves in a supporting role in case you’re wondering if this game takes any cues from The Matrix. If you enjoyed The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, you’ll definitely want to pick up CD PROJEKT RED’s latest.

10 Blade Storylines We Want To See In The MCU | ScreenRant
Marvel fans were both surprised and delighted when it was announced at this year’s Comic-Con that the imprint’s beloved half-vampire vampire hunter Blade would be joining the MCU. The MCU didn’t seem like the place for a dark, creepy, ultraviolent character like Blade, but fans aren’t complaining about the fact that he’ll be bumping shoulders with the likes of Thor, Doctor Strange, and Black Panther on the big screen – especially since two-time Oscar winner Mahershala Ali, one of the greatest actors working today, has been cast to play him.
RELATED: 5 Reasons We're Excited About Mahershala Ali's Blade (& 5 Why Marvel Should've Kept Wesley Snipes In The Role)
Here are 10 Blade storylines we want to see in the MCU.
10 Curse of the Mutants
Tumblr media
In this X-Men storyline, also sometimes dubbed “Mutants vs. Vampires,” Blade finally manages to defeat his arch nemesis Dracula for good. However, with Dracula gone, his son Xarus takes over and turns out to be an even more formidable enemy as he rallies together all the vampires and leads them against Earth’s mutant population.
As the vampires try to turn all the mutants into vampires – managing to turn Jubilee and capture Wolverine – Blade teams up with the X-Men to stop the vampires and save the mutants. This would be a two-birds-with-one-stone for the MCU; an X-Men movie and a Blade movie rolled into one.
9 Blade and the Midnight Sons
Tumblr media
In “Blade and the Midnight Sons,” Doctor Strange uses his magical powers to create a dark superpowered team called the Midnight Sons, consisting of the Nightstalkers (Blade and his allies), Morbius the Living Vampire (whose rights are unfortunately wrapped up with none other than Sony), the Spirits of Vengeance (including the Johnny Blaze version of Ghost Rider), and the Darkhold Redeemers.
Due to rights issues and the need to tie stories into the wider MCU, these teams might have to be altered, like the sides of Civil War. Adapting this comic book would be a great way to do an on-screen team-up with Doctor Strange and Blade.
8 Tomb of Dracula
Tumblr media
The “Tomb of Dracula” series was one of the most significant in Marvel Comics’ history. Until 1971, the Comics Code Authority had controlled what could or could not be depicted in horror comics, and one of the most blatant restrictions was that vampire characters couldn’t appear.
RELATED: Blade: 10 Facts You Didn't Know About The Franchise
So, as soon as the regulations became more lax, Marvel pounced at the opportunity to make vampire comics with a series about the most famous public-domain vampire of all time: Dracula. In the comic, Dracula took on various Marvel characters, like Spider-Man, Howard the Duck, the X-Men, and most notably, the vampire hunter Blade.
7 Undead Again
Tumblr media
In this twelve-issue series, writer Marc Guggenheim and artist Howard Chaykin revisited Blade’s origin story to give a few new details, like his heritage in Latveria (the fictional country in the Marvel universe for which Doctor Doom is an ambassador and therefore has diplomatic immunity) and the truth about his biological father.
There isn’t an awful lot of action in the comic, so it would need to have its action quotient punched up for the big-screen translation, but it does feature Blade fighting Doctor Doom, who’s in dire need of an MCU debut, and also a fight with Spider-Man, who will hopefully return to the MCU at some point.
6 Blade vs. the Avengers
Tumblr media
In this Ultimate Avengers storyline, a number of the Avengers got infected by vampires and turned into bloodsuckers. So, it was up to Blade to hold them off or incapacitate them until they could be cured. Some of them died in the comic, but this wouldn’t be a fitting way for any MCU characters to go for good.
Still, it would be exciting to see characters like the Hulk and Black Panther as vampires. A lot of plot points and aesthetic stylings from the Ultimate Marvel universe have been borrowed by the MCU, so this might not be as far-fetched as it sounds.
5 Spirits of Vengeance: War at the Gates of Hell
Tumblr media
In “Spirits of Vengeance: War at the Gates of Hell,” Heaven and Hell call off their war for one day a year as the ambassadors for each realm meet for a discussion. When an angel is discovered murdered with a silver bullet during the ceasefire, Ghost Rider teams up with Blade to investigate.
They’re also joined by Hellstorm and Satana. Ghost Rider, Hellstorm, and Satana all have streaming series on the way to Hulu, which won’t technically be set in the MCU, but thanks to the multiverse, could lead them to a big-screen appearance alongside Blade (some fans have already theorized that the multiverse is how Blade will be introduced).
4 Undead by Daylight
Tumblr media
Following up Blade’s arch-rivalry with Dracula from the “Tomb of Dracula” comics, everyone’s favorite vampire hunter teams up with a pair of fellow vampire hunters – both based on other characters from Bram Stoker’s gothic classic – to take on the infamous Count. These two other vampire killers are Quincy Harker, the son of Jonathan Harker, and Rachel Van Helsing, the great-granddaughter of Abraham Van Helsing.
Mini Avengers-style team-ups with teams of three or four characters like Thor: Ragnarok and Captain America: The Winter Soldier are a lot of fun in the MCU. This would be a great horror-themed version of that.
3 Sins of the Father
Tumblr media
MCU movies love plot twists where allies of the protagonist turn out to be villains – Iron Man, Captain Marvel, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 etc. – so “Sins of the Father” would be a great Blade storyline for the franchise to tackle. It sees a vampire enlisting the help of Blade to kill her father as revenge for turning her into a vampire in the first place.
RELATED: 10 Best Gifts For Fans Of The Infinity Gauntlet
Since Blade hates vampires, he reluctantly agrees. However, it all turns out to be a ruse, as the vampire and her romantic interest just want to destroy Blade.
2 Nightstalkers
Tumblr media
In this storyline, Blade ends up getting possessed by a curse taken from a page torn out of the demonic book known as the Darkhold. Some MCU fans have been expecting the Darkhold to show up in either WandaVision or Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness to prevent Chthon from escaping the void between realities that he occupies.
RELATED: Blade: 6 Characters We Want To See Return (& 4 We Don't)
So, if the Darkhold is going to be the MacGuffin in this scary chapter of the MCU following the Infinity Stones in the Infinity Saga (heck, this next one might be “the Darkhold Saga”), then the “Nightstalkers” storyline could be in order.
1 Crescent City Blues
Tumblr media
The “Crescent City Blues” storyline sees Deacon Frost take over the criminal underworld of New Orleans, which would make a fresh and interesting setting, especially in the MCU, which usually stays on the East and West Coasts and rarely takes a trip down south. Dracula is easily one of Blade’s most iconic villains, and in this storyline, he becomes even more powerful in his reign as Lord of Vampires when he captures both Blade and his sidekick Hannibal King.
This is an all-action comic book that is often recommended to first-time Blade readers looking to get into the character, so it would make the perfect starting point for his rebooted movie series.

Hey tumblr, could you like, actually post this into the tags, thanks?
Listen, I love the scene in Venom where Eddie is on the phone with Anne and they talk about him having a parasite. I feel like it’s not talked about as much as others, but I freaking love this scene.
Specifically, I love how Eddie reacts when Dan starts talking. At first he's surprised and gets a little bit passive aggressive like ‘’oh i didn’t know you were on the call too’’, and when I first saw the film I thought "oh no he's gonna be all mad because Anne's new boyfriend is spending the night" which like, all straight romance movies freaking do.
But he didn't!!
He took a second to process it and went, "nope. Bigger problems here. I just climbed a super tall tree. Please help"
And I love that!
There are so many moments in this movie where you are expecting the fragile masculinity to rear its ugly head and the movie just takes a 180 on them every time! I love that about Venom!!
Eddie is in distress and knows it. And he knows Dan is just trying to help. AND HE LETS HIM!! Like!!??!!! How often do the heroes in these types of movies actually let other people help them???? And not just “oh yeah join me in the fight” NO - GENUINELY HELP. Eddie openly admits that he is struggling and he LETS another man help him
WHOLESOME

Saturday AM Movie Review: SPIDERMAN: HOMECOMING
.So, let's just get this out of the way...SPIDERMAN: HOMECOMING IS EXCELLENT!
Seriously, it's much, much more than mere "good".
This is easily the Best SPIDERMAN movie EVER!
BEST MCU MOVIE? --- well, let's say it's in the top 3 or 4 but for many, it'll be the favorite.
It's literally re-watchable. Many, many times over.
I'm nearly 30hrs from a pre-screening ( the movie opens July 7th) and I'm just buzzing for the chance to see it again. That's a big deal cuz as a 40-something comic fan who has seen MANY COMICBOOK, SUPERHERO MOVIES -- I've found myself extremely jaded over the last few years. Special effects have given us so many possibilities that previously only comic books and animated productions could visualize. Imaginative new worlds and ideas that were the exclusive province of truly gifted animators, writers, and/or comic artists are now easily presented for the masses via a living, 3D cinematic expressions in movies and a rising number of TV shows.
But something has happened.
I noticed it when I went to a Licensing Executives-only screening of Peter Jackson's KING KONG (many years ago--- God, I'm getting old) and that was this emptiness. By emptiness, I mean....this lack of spark, personality, and/or life. Think Big Trouble in Little China, GHOSTBUSTERS (the original) and the original Superman. Those films have a personality and I remember watching that kick-ass foot catch by Jackson's Kong thinking "WOW - this wouldn't have happened with the 1970's or 30's version of Kong". On the other hand, I left that screening thinking the plot was contrived and characters were lame. It had the technical wizardry but little heart.
I think WB / DC COMICS DCEU is the modern day example of this. Clearly, Snyder's Superman is displaying his powers in ways that had never been seen on screen before. There are shots in MAN OF STEEL and BATMAN V SUPERMAN that are lifted straight from the comic books. That said, both of those movies have storylines and acting that are so...lukewarm (if not, straight juvenile) that the franchise is just getting decimated by Marvel Studios despite DC/WB having a damn near 30 years headstart on Marvel with successful film adaptations (Donner Superman and Burton's Batman) and the fact that Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman are the most popular superhero characters globally by a wide margin
SPIDERMAN HOMECOMING could have fallen under the weight of franchise fatigue (this is the 7th Spiderman film in 17 years) and/or just the behemoth that Marvel has wrought on the global box office and yet this film does not suffer from the things that afflict so many effects-heavy cinematic spectacles. This film has so much charm and personality that it's just...amazing! A lot of the reason for that is the story and the focus on a YOUNG PETER PARKER. Another reason for that is for one of the most diverse and accurate portrayals of high school --- ever.
Now A LOT has been made about the diverse cast in this movie and it should never be a shock to fans of Saturday AM how many people in the GEEK space bring negative, bigoted views to comics and anime. To be clear, SPIDERMAN's cast is incredibly charming from top to bottom. Tom Holland's Peter Parker has a Queens accent, loves Legos, and has the perfect wide-eyed enthusiasm. I am in for this kid big-time. He has so much charm and earnestness and he's not trying to 'play the nerd' ala Maguire or be the lonely heartthrob ala Garfield. There are two scenes that really stand out to me - one when Peter screws up on the Ferry (from the trailers, great scene folks) and then another during his first actual moment with the Vulture (it's in a car and it will shock you) and his simple reactions to both moments are so well-acted and so perfectly rendered to the story that for me it cemented the idea that HOLLAND IS THE PERFECT SPIDERMAN!
His class/ school, however, is where the film truly shines. Laura Harrier plays Liz, Spiderman's crush while the famous Zendaya plays a character sure to pop up in future films named Michelle. That there are two female leads and they are both women of color is some Saturday AM level stuff! I mean it. The same arguments I've had about having a minority main character in a manga and the refrain (laughably from other minorities at that) "it would just be forced to add a person of color" as if it's NOT forced to add in white/ European looking characters into Japanese society or future worlds (ala Attack on Titan). I can only imagine that some Sony exec tried to pull the same stunt -- "Hey, you can't have two women in Spiderman that he likes or hangs out with be black!!!" As if Queens, NY is an all-white town. Now, not everyone works. I will say that Flash Thompson played by Tony Revolori seems miscast for reasons other than his skin color -- the lack of menace, the height all conspire to make him a jarring choice for being the well-known bully. That said, the diversity adds so much to this film because it feels REAL, RELATABLE to everyone. From the school principal to the deli owner to the kids in the hallway of Peter's school, seeing so many people of color just adds such texture to the world that Peter inhabits and makes the idea that this is the MCU from the street level surprisingly feel more accurate than Marvel's Netflix shows.
This point, is brought home by the gym teacher played by a hilariously deadpan, Hannibal Burres, adds some great comedy when he suggests the Captain America school videos (which has a great payoff later in the film) is inappropriate because he's probably a "war criminal, now" (thanks, CIVIL WAR). But this diversity message really applies to two characters who are CRUCIAL to the success of this new Spiderman film and series. First up, the VULTURE.
Now, I won't ruin the twist to this film but not only is it a solid one but it really sells the whole idea of this version of the B-grade Spiderman villain. From the first frame of the film, we learn what life is really like for the hard working folks in a THOR, IRON MAN led-MCU and how that may affect a potential villain like the Vulture. Keep in mind, we just elected TRUMP in the US -- so the idea of the people feeling desperate enough to do something crazy is something we should all be able to relate to. And that's where Michal Keaton's character really shines. His actions are logical and while he's the bad guy - you can see how different his life could have gone had he gotten luckier in life -- just like our little Peter Parker.
Likewise, his redesign is AWESOME! I genuinely loved this look. It was creative in its' associations with the Vulture motif while also being synonymous with this world of the MCU. You could see how it could be terrifying in its' own right. I've seen a few reviews where folks have lamented some of the action scenes and while I disagree wholeheartedly (the Washington monument and Boat Ferry were both spectacular and remind of the classic train scene from Spiderman 2) I DO understand the lack of thrill in the battles between Vulture and Spiderman. At this point, neither has really fought to the death against another super-powered character (Spidey's Civil War romp was like a field trip to Peter -- we come to learn) and thus the battles are perfectly thrilling, intimate affairs rather than spectacle IMO. This is a small film. The world is not at stake and in many ways, that's what makes these more precise action beats so strong.
Peter is still a nerd. He can't talk to girls and he wants to do the right thing even though those actions usually cause him and his loved one's problems. In fact, his friends are still intrinsically a part of his life (as we all can attest to regarding our own high school lives). Ned (played with such charm by Jacob Batalon) is the breakout star of this film. The young, portly best friend dreams of being Peter's "guy in the chair" and thus gives the film something desperately needed in the world of the MCU. He allows Peter to simply relate to someone with his secret without lazily needing to have it tie into a love triangle between the original trilogies' Mary Jane Watson (Kirsten Dunst) and the reboot's Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone) and the Spiderman persona. That the character is also diverse and clearly brought over from the Miles Morales Spiderman comic (he shares more than a passing resemblance to that series 'best friend', Ganke) is one thing - that he's lovable and funny as hell - is everything to this film.
SPIDERMAN: HOMECOMING is fun, it's FUNNY, and it offers a different view of the Marvel Cinematic Universe that suggests that with CIVIL WAR, the original IRON MAN film and the GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY -- Marvel Studios can tell ANY type of superhero story. This is crucial because given the battles between DC, Marvel and many others (c'est la vie, TMNT / Transformers) it means that we don't have to worry that this genre of film will feel stale. Spiderman Homecoming proves you can do funny films with a lot of heart!
Saturday AM score: 5/5

Around this time when it hits June it is like a holiday for gamers as E3 comes around. I know that we get a lot of content before the big gaming events, but it is still enjoyable as at times there are many other surprises that we do not know about. I am here to share my anticipations as the Beast Gamer and hopefully I am not disappointed.
E3 2019 has to bring the thunder!
I have talked to many gamers lately about the upcoming E3 2019 and yes we already saw some big announcements before June. I wished I were able to go to E3 in the earlier stages because with the technology we have now and developers having their own personal conferences. E3 is starting to feel like a reminder of what we already have been told.
First up The Avengers Project!
https://twitter.com/Avengers/status/1133750227922542592
Oh baby, do not tease me like this. I am quite excited about the Avengers Project that was revealed some time ago with just a small teaser. Lately, Square Enix is in my good graces with what they have done with Deus Ex, new Final Fantasy VII and many other titles. Will it be an Action RPG or an Adventure game? The anticipation to see any details would be fantastic.
What I am hoping they will show off is new characters to introduce into the series and since Marvel has the rights back. They can move away from the movies to assemble a different Avengers Team. This would be a great opportunity to introduce new Avengers or new heroes like Iron Heart or Squirrel Girl.
Xbox E3 Conference
Of course with Xbox being a huge showrunner, what would I expect from the Microsoft crew? We got a look at Halo Infinite a while ago with a teaser trailer and was told it is a direct sequel to the series. However, that’s about it as I am a huge Halo fan all the way up to Halo Reach. Hopefully, 343 Industries will have some gameplay, some story and a release date for us during the conference.
#gallery-0-4 { margin: auto; } #gallery-0-4 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 50%; } #gallery-0-4 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-0-4 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
Fable and this one is a hit or miss for some, but I hope it is a thing. The one amazing thing about the Fable series was the way your character had choices and grew old. You can truly be good or superiorly evil depending on circumstances. You can have a family or multiple families. Then your story grows with you as you age which is amazing. The best part of Fable 2 was the co-op system and earning money from your business while you were not playing. Even another player could gift you funds.
Fable 3 brought in the marriage system between players which came with great benefits. With this new title just called Fable, it makes me wonder if we are going to get a reboot to the series? We shall see.
Cyberpunk 2077 needs more details!
I don’t think you understand how geared up I am for this new game. It started off as a tabletop game and now entering the video game world. We were given a teaser of gameplay not to long ago, but as said in the video it is not finalized gameplay. This is the kind of foreplay that I do not appreciate! I would respectfully ask that you show us an Alpha or Beta that gives us concrete work of what we are expecting in the new RPG.
I like the idea of having so many different choices that can either make your experience easy or difficult. The next best thing is the unique weaponry and of course that sweet sports car you get to drive around in. Let’s hope we are fed more.
Nintendo Conference!
Nintendo showed off a lot of their cards already in many Nintendo Direct conferences and of course the recent Pokemon Conference. At this point, I just want to hear about the new Nintendo Switch system that we are supposedly getting. It is high time we see this new system and a release date would be nice especially proper specifications on this high-end version of the Switch.
Other than that we already saw a lot of good things from Nintendo and we are just looking for details at this point.
EA Access for PS4
About freaking time is all I have to say. I did an article earlier this May thanks to my buddy Lady Arsenic on the details. What I want to hear more about is what games will be available since Xbox One and PC have a long run with the program. Seen a lot of great games old and new being available for early 10-hour access with new releases and free titles.
With Sony having PlayStation Now available what will EA bring to the PlayStation with its own exclusives or current. So I am hoping to see SSX and some Need for Speed titles.
That’s it for this Beast at the moment and we are two weeks away from the show. Please share your thoughts or anticipations this coming event
E3 2019 Best Impress This Beast Around this time when it hits June it is like a holiday for gamers as E3 comes around.

A Retro Gamer’s Christmas Wish List 2018
It’s that time of year once again, where all of us bloggers start putting together this wish list and gift ideas for Christmas. Naturally, I’m going to do the very same thing! However, you won’t get any generic items on my list – that would just be boring! Instead, we’re going to look at gift ideas for gamers and retro gamers. After all, that would be far more interesting, don’t you think?
So, let’s take a look at these Christmas gift ideas for retro gamers and gamers in general!
Legend of Zelda Ocarina
We’re going to start off small with this list, but also start off with an awesome little stocking filler that every retro gamer out there would absolutely love. Specifically, we are talking about the Legend of Zelda replica Ocarina. Now, Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is widely considered one of the best Legend of Zelda games ever. So it should come as no surprise that the game gets a lot of love in the retro gaming community.
With that in mind, I’m sure you can understand why a retro gaming fan would be over the moon to get their hands on their very own Ocarina! After all, it’s a major part of the gameplay from Ocarina of Time (as the name pretty much suggests).
Tanglewood for the Sega MegaDrive
Next up, we have a delightful entry that I am really happy to be able to include on this list; Tanglewood. Many retro gamers out there have very fond memories of the Sega MegaDrive (or Genesis in the US), due to the wonderful platformers and other games on the console. But obviously, the MegaDrive stopped getting new games over 2 decades ago! Or did it?
Well, yes, it did. But only until this year, thanks to the release of Tanglewood. Tanglewood is a brand new game for the Sega MegaDrive, build using the original development hardware and software. It’s a brilliant game that works perfectly on an original MegaDrive, making it a great gift for Christmas 2018.
The Retro Gaming Subscription Box
If you can’t figure out which one gift you want to get for a retro gamer, it can be really annoying. Thankfully, there is an answer for that too! Getting a subscription box full of retro gaming goodness can be the perfect way to make sure you can give a bunch of cool gifts all at the same time. On top of that, you don’t even need to choose what items go in the box either! That’s because the subscription box people use the info you provide to choose the perfect gifts for you!
For example, The Retro has a gaming-focused subscription box service where you can actually choose between Mario, Zelda and Sonic, as well as Sony, Nintendo or Xbox. How cool is that? Personally, I’d probably go with Zelda, but the fact that you have the choice is great!
Ready Player One – The Novel
Whilst the movie of Ready Player One has come out now, I would still recommend getting the novel instead. As with many things, the book is the better option (although the movie is still very enjoyable). The storyline features so many callbacks to classic and retro games, pop culture and more. In fact, there are so many of them that you’ll find anyone reading it will just absolutely lose themselves in the book.
Oh, and the story is just generally exceedingly good as well! If you are looking for a good book for a retro gaming fan, this would be brilliant!
Legends of Localization: Zelda
Stick with the idea of great books, the next item on this list if the Legends of Localization: Zelda book (yes, the title in written with the US spelling). In short, this delightful non-fiction book details the differences and changes between the Japanese and English language versions of The Legend of Zelda, offering a wonderful amount of insight to the way in which games are localised.
It also means that, as a fan of The Legend of Zelda, you can learn all new secrets and histories of a game series that you adore. Therefore, this would make an outstanding gift for any The Legend of Zelda fan out there!
And That’s All Folks
There you have it! Those are the 5 gifts that I would highly recommend for any retro gaming fan out there this Christmas. I sincerely hope that these retro gamer Christmas gift ideas help you to choose something perfect to get.
If you have any other great suggestions, let me know in the comments below!

Best PS5 Holiday Gifts for Black Friday
https://ift.tt/eA8V8J
While one DualSense is included with the console, youre definitely going to want to pick up a second one for multiplayer games.

HD Camera

Buy Miles Morales for PS5 on Amazon.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
$59.99
Though the Assassin’s Creed series began life as a medieval stealth series, in recent years, Ubisoft has excelled at shoehorning that basic concept into all sorts of historical settings, while adding on emphasis on RPG gameplay. Valhalla provides a true Viking fantasy experience, letting your axe-wielding hero pillage and conquer the countryside of Dark Ages England. The game features an absolutely massive map and storyline that should keep any gamer occupied well into the new year.

These 10 #Travel and #Tech Products are a must have for your Holidays 2018 Wish List! #CTATravel
Disclosure: This is an event recap. This post is NOT compensated.
I am woefully behind on Event Recaps thanks to a summer that brought a devastating fire on the Fourth of July due to someone sneaking up to the roof of my apartment building and throwing illegal fireworks, followed by a death in the family a week later, and culminating in me twisting BOTH my ankles and spraining my wrist a week after that!
To say it has been a "challenging' summer would be a complete understatement.
All the events I did get to attend before my world came crashing down were pretty amazing, and while it may take me awhile I promise I will get to each and every one of them.
I had the chance to attend the Techlicious/Consumer Technology Association/CES Lunch and Learn event at Quality Italian Restaurant in Midtown New York City.
I will start with the hot tech first and then lead into the great food!
These are the great products I was exposed to (these are NOT reviews, I got to see the products at the event, not road test them personally, so these are first impressions)
Since the nice reps from Roku were seated at my table, I will start with Roku first:
Roku Streaming Stick
I am totally getting sick of dealing with my Cable Company, and with features like Hotel and Dorm Connect the Roku Streaming Stick is perfect for both Travelers as well as College Kids hitting the dorm. Why pay the hotel a million bucks to rent a movie when you can just bring along your own streaming stick? Retail Price = $49.99 - these were in our gift bags but I didn't get a chance to test mine as it was lost in the fire, if Roku sends out a replacement I will definitely provide you guys with a full review.
The next brand has been at several events I regularly cover including The Luxury Review/The Luxury Tech Show and I haven't had a chance to take the demo or speak to the reps (in this instance it was my arrival time, at LTS my time at certain booths ran overtime during the Press Preview time period and once that event opened up to non-press it was just too crowded to get in there.) But I have wanted to take the demo and will have to make sure to do it next time I see HTC Vive.
HTC Vive
I love that Virtual Reality is being used by the travel/hospitality industry to help you tour a destination or a hotel room without ever leaving the comfort of your couch. Retail Price = $1,399 (definitely a splurge but Vive Pro definitely has one of the richest content libraries available on SteamVR and VIVEPORT.
Ashley Chloe Helix Cuff
You guys know I am called #TheOfficialTwitterPartyDJ via Twitter because I am a Twitter Party Hostess with the Mostest who LOVES Music and hasn't met the twitter party yet I couldn't find the right song for. I am always on the market for new audio and when I can combine my love of audio and tech with my love of fashion and accessories all the better! My Audio 'Form Meets Function' pick from the event is definitely The Ashley Chloe Helix Cuff. The world's first wearable wireless Bluetooth headphones with cVC noise reduction, AptX Technology, Smart Multipoint Connectivity and Bluetooth 4.1. Retail Price = $99.00 - $249.99 (The pricier one is the Helix 24K Gold Edition, love the exclusive color! I would have to listen to Bruno Mars 24K first on these!) Earbuds not getting twisted or destroyed in my cavernous handbag, PRICELESS!
myCharge Pride Limited Edition Power Bank
myCharge Pride Limited Edition Power Bank was donating 5% of Pride Month Power Bank Sales to The Trevor Project, and since later on this year I got to cross attending Ru Paul's Drag Con off my bucket list (full post to come) - this got me a thumbs up every time I pulled it out to keep my phone charged during the conference. This is a little bulkier than some of the Power Bank's I have used in the past, but love the on and off button, how fast it charges my devices and how long it holds its own charge. The plug for the wall flips out, and this charges itself AND the device simultaneously. This one definitely gets a thumbs up from me, and something like this can cross off nearly everyone on your list! Retails for $34.99
Hum by Verizon
With holiday travel at it's peak and everyone driving to visit family and friends, the Hum by Verizon certainly helps prove that 'those who wander are not lost'.  With pinpoint roadside assistance, you can get the help you need by using the Hum App to request 24/7 roadside assistance, there is also a mechanics hotline, stolen vehicle assistance, maintenance reminders, you can check your safety score (this helps keeps insurance costs low), vehicle diagnostics and you can also turn your car into a Wi-Fi Hotspot allowing passengers to stream, surf and game on the road (eliminating the dreaded "Are We There Yet?" Questions, PRICELESS).
Sony WH-1000X M3 Wireless Headphones
The Sony WH-1000X M3 are pricey at $349.99, but these wireless, noise cancelling beauties offer five hours playback from a mere 10 minute charge, perfect for us frequent fliers who struggle to find an outlet or left our trusty powerbank behind. We were shown the M2's but the M3's are already out now. I need these in my life and am sad they were not in the gift bag!
Sony SP700N true wireless earphones
With extra bass and the Google Assistant built into these Sony SP700N true wireless earphones, you can make easy hands free at the click of a button, enjoy digital noise cancellation or ambient sound which lets you hear essential sounds. The compact carrying case not only keeps them secure, but holds an additional two full three hour charges, so you can power them on the go! These sound perfect for my morning commute, and I am bummed that these weren't in the gift bag either. These Retail for $149.99.
Sony RX100 Advanced Camera
Sony was showing their RX100 Advanced Camera with 1.0 Sensor, while it may be portable, the specs are definitely not 'lightweight'. It is a 20.2 MP, with a SteadyShot that reduces blur even in low light, HD video capabiity for beautiful video and full manual control for creative photography. It retails for $369.99. Not in the gift bag either, le sigh. I have had my eye on the Sony a7rIII which I played with last year during Fashion Week at Sony Square Space in NYC and then again at this year's Photo Plus Expo. I took a picture with it that served as a Best Buy contest entry during the Expo which is featured on my Instagram page here: https://www.instagram.com/p/BpbS1-TAXLt/ - I have to say I am bit more inclined to the A7RIII, but this has a $2,799 retail price tag making the RX100 a bit more holiday budget friendly. But as Photography is a huge part of my career, not just a hobby/passion, I am telling Santa I want the A7RIII (42.4 MP with 14-bit RAW output!) for Christmas! I really have been a very, very, very, good butterfly this year.
Speck Presidio for iPhone X
Speck Presidio for iPhone X offers 8 foot drop protection! While I am an Android girl and have never owned an iPhone, I have witnessed a ton of friends, family and colleagues drop their uber expensive phone and ended up walking around with a cracked screen - not cute. Why not make a small investment in protecting it instead? At $39.95 ($27.96 if you act fast to nab the extended Cyber Week deal) it gives you something absolutely PRICELESS - peace of mind!
Modobag - Motorized Luggage
See that image above? That is a grown man riding on Modobag - Motorized Luggage, it convinced me to give it a go:
Actually I watched TWO men ride this thing before I opted to get on it myself.
Zip through the airport terminals and never miss a flight, on a single charge the Modobag has the ability to travel up to 6+ miles based on a rider weight of 180 pounds, it has an indoor speed of 4 MPH, and outdoor speed of 7 MPH, three times a regular walking pace, and it goes to full charge in two hours. It also has two USB ports for individual or simultaneous charging. I totally want this for Christmas, as a Blogger this would be my portable office for press trips! I really want this! The Retail on Modobag is $1,495 - which considering designer luggage costs three times as much, and does not haul you around in addition to your stuff, this is actually a steal! I also wanted to share some photos of our meal:

QI Signature Lemon Meringue Tart
Above: QI Signature Lemon Meringue Tart MY TAKE: These items are perfect for anyone on your list, and are going to score major brownie points with travel lovers and tech enthusiasts of any age. Again these are impressions as I got to play with these products at the event. Should I get review units I will give those items their own day in the sun with full reviews.
My photos are watermarked, un-watermarked photos were used by media with permission. This is the second year I have attended this event, (the food is always amazing) just in case you missed last year's which focused heavily on Photography and Photography tips for getting better shots, check it out here: https://www.ascendingbutterfly.com/2017/10/techlicious-ctatech-ctaphotonyc-lunch.html This by far has been the second worse year of my life, second only to almost dying in 2011. It zapped every ounce of writing energy out of me. Not to mention left me without a computer until Black Friday Sales enabled me to get a laptop. I am just not one of those bloggers who can blog solely via phone. I do not have millenial thumbs and have no idea how they can get so much typing done on a mobile touch keypad. I am slowly but surely trying to get myself ramped up again. And am considering either a re-design or a complete re-branding. I do have some overdue giveaways so check back often. For those of you who have sent me personal emails checking in on me, Thank You! I know our Inspirational Messages of the Day and Gratitude Sundays have been missed, and I will find a way to bring them back soon. Let's just say getting myself motivated has been difficult enough lately. This event put some great products on my radar, I definitely wouldn't mind seeing any or all of these under my Christmas Tree or stuffed inside my stocking this year. Readers: Which of these do you want most? Do you already have any of them?
