Currently on Thriller Bark arc & it's super fun! Brook is hilarious & I can't wait for him to join the Straw Hats.
As someone who knew a little bit about OP prior to actually watching it, I love the tidbits of info that become HUGE plot points in the current arc (eg: mentions of haki, the zombie w/ Brook's shadow is from Wano)! We love a telios moment.
I'm kinda sad I didn't watch OP sooner (well tbh the 1000+ episode commitment was daunting), but I'm loving it so far!! If you guys haven't noticed, my fav types of anime involve found family, ridiculously overpowered MCs, and Nakama Power™️ (within reason). Bonus points if there are cute blorbos to ship (FROBIN!!! & ZoSan so far hehe)

Theogamia
History
Though not much is known about how the ancient Greeks celebrated Theogamia, what we know for sure what they celebrated. Theogamia (meaning marriage of Gods,) is the celebration of the union between Zeus and Hera, specifically Zeus Telios and Hera Teleia, both epithets to basically indicate that they are married.
Theogamia takes place on the 27th of Gamelion (roughly mid-February.) This month became an ideal time to marry. and though, as mentioned, we don’t know much about how they celebrated, we do know that a large feast was involved. While it was likely celebrated all over Greece, we know for sure that it was popular in Athens.
How can you celebrate?
Theogamia is like Hellenic Polytheist’s Valentine's day. At least, that’s one way you can interpret it in a modern age. You can use this day to celebrate and honor your own relationship, treat it like you would an anniversary or Valentine’s Day. If both you and your partner are in agreement, you could even plan to have your own wedding on this day(or in this month.)
It doesn’t have to only be a romantic festival, however, as you can make preperations to celebrate Zeus and Hera’s union instead. Make a feast to honor Them as the patron Gods of marriage.
Though not much is known of the traditional celebrations- and thus, not much can be said about how to celebrate these days- that means that we have a little more breathing room. Get creative and brainstorm, make the holiday your own! Whatever you think may be a good way to celebrate, do it.

finished true detective season 1 last night and I already wanna restart it. my all time favorite scene of any tv show is the one where he interviews joel theriot in 2002. god, I love his character so much. just the way he says, "a little to much of this...I lost heart" and my all time favorite quote, "all my life I wanted to be nearer to god, but the only nearness -- silence."
theriot seems like rusts real foil to me, not marty. marty's only someone who conflicts with rust, but not in that puzzle piece kind of way. theriot pursues the same unconscious world as rust, and finds himself abandoned in the maw of a great black silence, one that's not quite unwelcome. rust describes this syprup-y black silence as love, as a pure substance, as nothing. by the way theriot says "silence", it's both said with this sense of peace and betrayal. there's this feeling like he got in over his head, this silence isn't quite something he can handle; it's something he welcomes; and it disappoints him all at once. it's interesting too, book he picks up when he discovers the pictures, and by the extension the depths of darkness in his immediate surroundings, is a fransiscan mystic. I don't know anything about telios de lorca and googling him brings up nothing, so maybe they just made him up for the show, but I have read quite a bit of the mystics, and this detail definitely connects in a way I can't articulate yet.
