#technically it is Daminette

Hi, my friend is asking why there are so many maribat fics, and especially with DamiMari.
Maybe you know about the history of these crossovers in Batman Fandom?
Hi!
(Fellow Maribat fans, feel free to add your own commentary or correct any of my mistakes.)
So @/ozmav created the Damian x Marinette ship in 2018, I think? It was just a fun little crossover that blew up and became really popular. I was not around either of those fandoms at the time, so I'm not sure about all the details.
Daminette was the first Maribat ship created, so it was around the longest, and thus accumulated the most works.
Eventually, the other Bat Boys got their own ship, and now the Maribat (or now, more technically, DCxMLB) fandom has so many more ships and crossovers -not necessarily between the Bat/MLB main characters.
Some rarepair ships (any DCxMLB ship not between one of the four main Bat Boys and Marinette) include Konette (Conner Kent/Superboy and Marinette Dupain-Cheng/Ladybug) and Timdrien (Tim Drake/Red Robin and Adrien Agreste/Chat Noir), to name a couple.
The Maribat fandom also crosses over with multiple fandoms, like DPxDCxMLB or MCUxDCxMLB.
Some pure MLB and DC stans definitely dislike Maribatters, especially during the beginning of the fandom, when the tags for both fandoms were cluttered with DCxMLB content. Now that it's grown so much and has its own tags, I think the hate has calmed down somewhat. (Although, I prefer to keep out of fandom drama, so I may simply have missed the hateful discourse ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.)
Overall, the Maribat fandom has really grown from a crack ship to its own large, well-populated community. There are tags on Ao3 and many discord servers, which runs events such as "Jasonette July" and "Maribat? Get In! [a server] Civil War".
On a personal note:
As to my thoughts on the ships themselves, my favorites are Daminette (Damian Wayne/Robin and Marinette Dupain-Cheng/Ladybug) and Jasonette (Jason Todd/Red Hood and Marinette Dupain-Cheng/Ladybug). It's always fascinating to rotate a character or ship in your head like a rotisserie chicken, considering their Canon and Fanon traits and then exploring them in whatever medium you choose (my medium of choice is writing fanfiction).
For Daminette, the ship you specifically asked about, I am drawn to it because I find the differences between the couple adorable. I personally have a fondness for the Grumpy x Sunshine trope, a Tsundere male lead, and relationship/character growth. (Of course, sometimes it's nice just to read a cute 500 word drabble with no plot, no specific dynamics, and no development, where the couple is just cute and happy.)
I think that is one of the beauties of Maribat. With so many various ships and characters to choose from, there's something for everyone, and we can all bond over belonging to the same fandom(s). Some of us have joined from the MLB side, some from the DC side, some just got dragged in by a friend and have no knowledge of either fandom, and that's okay! With so much to explore in both fandoms, there is constantly new content* being made with love (and tears. And laughter, both evil and joyful. And hornin-).
I've made some of my best friends through this fandom, and I'm proud to be a part of it.
I hope this helps, and I apologize if my ramblings detracted from my answers!💜
*Yes, I am aware of the popular Tropes such as "Akuma Class Trip to Gotham" and "Long-Lost Wayne".

Runaway Assassin AU
Okay so this is just a concept and ANYONE is free to use this, just please credit me and link me so I may enjoy your talent! I’ve seen Maribat fics where Mari leaves Paris of her own volition with the support of family, I’ve seen fics where Damien is stationed in Paris for the Titans or just for Batfam, I’ve seen fics where Mari needs to escape because of a corrupted Chat Noir. But I’ve not yet seen a fic where Damien runs away. I admit, I know more about Dick/Tim due to the animated series from the 90s/00s, than I do about Jason or Damien, but from what I’ve seen of the animated films, Damien has a very hard time being integrated into Bruce’s life and both side attempting at gaining an understanding of the other. This was mostly inspired by this clip, and my heart aches for this pompous little asshole because he’s ten and raised by assassins and he is/can be good but Bruce-and by extension Dick- can’t see it past Damien’s natural shield. And all I can think of is Damien, either 10/11 and just feeling irritated because he’s constantly on edge with his ‘family’. Even if he always proudly claims he’s the heir, the blood son, he can tell from interactions around himself that it holds little weight in his argument. He can see it in the way Dick and Bruce act, how Tim and Bruce act, and even Alfred and Bruce. All are strong, familial bonds between father and son, and yet he cannot sense he forms one with his own father. Well then, what use does he have for remaining there? His mother is gone, his father isn’t exactly warm and welcoming, and his ‘brothers’ know him as hostile and the Demon’s Heir. The only bounds he forms are with animals, so why bother remaining? So he leaves. Possibly with Titus, possibly with Alfred the Cat, but he leaves. He is the grandson of Ra’s Al Ghul, he can survive out in the world. He is not so weak as to require anyone to care for him. Except he does. Who knows what happens, but soon Damien is ragged but stubborn, refusing to be weak and focusing on protecting himself and his dog and or his cat from the dangers around. Perhaps Master Fu finds him, recognizes his potential, and takes him under his wing, unmoved when emotions fly heavy from the child and helping Damien to calm himself. Perhaps Marianne finds him, takes a fiery child that reminds her of a friend she and Fu once had, helping the boy to center his anger through activities, ensuring he grows and becomes more than just those titles people gave him, he doesn’t need to be given titles, he will make and take his own. Or perhaps Tom finds them during a distant delivery, when Damien passes out in the rain in some alley way with only his animal(s) to guard him; of course, the big man helps the poor child off of the street-even going against their policy against of no pets because come on, they guarded their owner!-before taking him back to the bakery. Of course, all three help Damien from his wounds, ignoring his growls and orders to go away, though he’s too weak to truly fight them off, and they soon have him sleeping in a small guest room that was usually the office to calculate their expenses. Maybe Marinette’s Ladybug already, maybe not, but she is 14 so she’s not too much older than him. In any case, I think it would be a unique concept to have Damien be the one to run away from his familial environment and arrive in Paris(or London if we go with Marianne) to find his own version of family.

I requested your assistance, I want to use the Peacock Miraculous and give Marinette her own Sentimonster that would be a Robin. And it will protect Marinette from those who want to cause her harm (Mainly the robin would teleport people to a different time, and when the punishment ment is done they come back in what seems like seconds for everyone else would be 18 years for the other)

//The Coldest of Hearts//

.....
Alfred was not happy. Miss Marinette was being mistreated by her so called 'friends' and not even her teacher was helping her.
'Well I guess it's time to take matters into my own hands.'
.....
Marinette couldn't help but feel anger and sadness at the same time. Lila had made up even more lies, this time about her long-distance boyfriend Damian.
After the class touched down in Gotham for their class trip, Marinette couldn't help feeling excited to see her boyfriend. Then, that Lie-la girl, made something up about how she was an old family friend of the Wayne's and how she was dating the youngest, Damian, Marinette's boyfriend.
.....
When the class was visiting the Wayne Building, where Marinette had made plans to meet up with Damian, they started whispering to eachother about how maybe they'd actually meet a Wayne.
Of course, Lila, ever protecting her reputation said, "Of course not, they're very important people. In fact, tonight, to apologise for not being able to meet up today, they're hosting a magnificent party for me."
Of course everyone took the bait and started fawning over Lila. They were so engrossed in Lila's lies they didn't notice Marinette walk up to a vaguely familiar boy.
They greeted eachother warmly, as if they knew eachother for years, which they did.
Lila noticed this exchange and loudly asked Marinette, "Oh, Mari, who's your friend? He looks familiar, do you know the Wayne's? We must have met at a party of theirs."
Marinette's friend smirked, "I guess you could say that." Before turning to Marinette, "I'll see you around, Angel. Invite your friends." He gave her a kiss and walked away.
The girls in the class were squealing at Marinette, excited that she finally got over her crush on Adrien.
Lila, of course, did not like Marinette taking the attention away from her.
.....
The class were ready in their best clothes, standing outside of Wayne Manor. Lila looking slightly nervous, as she didn't actually know the Wayne's, but Marinette did by extention and could easily disprove her lies any second.
Lila, as confidently as she could knocked on the door. An older gentle opened the door, looked right passed Lila and onto Marinette, "Oh, Miss Marinette, you have arrived! I shall escort you and your friends to the coat room."
Marinette smiled, "Merci, Alfred. How have your new recipes turned out?"
'Alfred' spoke almost jovially, "Most magnificent, miss. I must thank your parents next time I see them."
Lila realised this was her moment, "Oh, Marinette, getting friendly with the help, I see. So you obviously don't know the Wayne's as much as you said you did. Why would you lie to us, Mari, I thought we were friends."
Marinette's class sans Chloe (who refused to come in the first place) started glaring, 'How could she lie to us?'
As Alfred was about to speak up, Marinette sent a subtle gesture his way to tell him to stop. Marinette played dumb, "I don't know what you're talking about Lila, I never said I knew the Wayne's. You must have misheard."
Alfred, although suspicious of the liar, let them into the house.
As soon as she entered, the Vaguely Familiar Boy from earlier greeted Marinette and her class. The class obviously still hadn't figured out who he was, yet.
"Please, help yourselves to solve food. Mr. Wayne will begin his speech soon and then the party will officially start."
Adrien, who was quiet the whole time, pulled Marinette to the side and asked her, "What are you planning? I thought we agreed to not do anything to Lila?"
Marinette glared, "You might have, but I didn't. And who said I was planning anything?"
She pulled her arm out of his grasp and made her way to the crowd surrounding a certain Bruce Wayne.
He began his speech, "Thank you all for coming, especially those who come all the way from Paris, France. We are here to celebrate my son Damians coming off age. As we all know, I am very strict as to when the media can take pictures of me and my family," the crowd chuckled, "but as Damian is now off age, we would like to officially introduce him to the media."
The few reporters in the crowd, who were specially invited because of their trustworthiness, readied their cameras as Bruce asked his son to appear beside him.
The class gasped as the Vaguely Familiar Boy who had kissed Marinette was revealed to be Damian Wayne. So that's how they recognised him.
Lila however was trying to think of a way to escape, especially since the class would realise soon that Damian definitely wasn't dating her.
But before she could leave, Mr. Wayne had started speaking again, "While we are talking, we would like to thank various people and places for their contribution to this party. The Robinson Bakery for their cakes and baked goods, the Smith Catering team for making all this delicious food, our friend and butler Alfred for helping us set up this whole party and last bit not least one Miss Marinette Dupain-Cheng, who made by hand all of the outfits that my family and I are wearing."
Marinette blushed a bit, especially as her classmates stared at her as of she grew three heads.
But that was not all, Jason, one of Damians older brothers, shouted from the side, "She's also Damians girlfriend!"
That set off a cacophony of noise, classmates asking her if it was true, reporters scrambling to ask Damian to verify the statement and rich folk muttering in confusion as the boy in question had a very much cold personality, that they were sure would push away any potential significant others.
Then suddenly, a scream of 'anguish' broke out, "Oh my Damipoo, how could you? You said you loved me. You gave me a ring!"
Lila, of course. She couldn't let any positive attention go towards Marinette.
This obviously put a full 180 degree spin on things. Her classmates glared at Marinette and Damian, the reporters tried to ask Lila for a further statement and the rich people were still very confused, the boy who was colder than ice had two girls wrapped around his finger?
Marinette feeling extremely overwhelmed and scared, ran off towards another room. What she didn't notice was a feather floating towards her and feed off her emotions.
A small Robin was formed from her fear and vowed, just like the real Robin, to protect her from the cruel in the world. He sat on her shoulder and waited for the inevitable.
The door to the room she was in slammed open and in came Adrien, "I thought you didn't have a plan?! I thought you weren't going to antagonise Lila!"
Marinette could only cry, "I didn't. I didn't know what was going to happen."
Adrien glared at her, "I just want a normal school life! And you have to go be selfish!"
That was the trigger for the sentimonster to react, he flicked his wrist and Adrien was gone, small Robin have him the chance to be kind to Marinette, but because he wasn't, he was sent to another dimension in time where he would learn from his mistakes.
For them it would take only a second for him to reappear, for Adrien, as long as it takes for him to realise he was wrong.
He came back not looking much more than a year or two older but looking like he would have an emotional breakdown. He was sent to 1939 where he learned that being passive could get people hurt. He apologised to Marinette, acknowledging he was in the wrong and went on his way, a shell of his former self.
Most of her classmates came in next, all of whom looked angry at her. The few that were kind in their anger were not sent away, but the rest were sent to the Times of the Reformation where they learned not to believe everything that comes from someone who uses you. They all came back at the same time, yet at different ages some looked to be the same age as when they left while others looked to be in their mid-twenties.
Next, came Alya. She came in with a fury, screaming at her about taking Damian from Lila. Little Robin barely had to think before sending her away to the 1400s Americas, where she learned not to believe people she has never met before over a trusted friend. She came back in her late thirties, the oldest of anyone so far. She begged for forgiveness from Marinette, which she willingly gave.
Soon enough, Lila burst in and started to threaten Marinette. She couldn't even get the first word in, before Little Robin sent her away to Ancient Egypt. There she learnt the importance of telling the truth, although not for a very long time. When she arrived it was in a public square and she appeared out of nowhere, so naturally people assumed she was a goddess, and she didn't correct them, but when she started to age people questioned her godliness. She told the people it was just her preferred form and everything went back to normal.
Soon, though, the Pharaoh became interested in this 'goddess' and wished to marry her, she of course accepted, but as the day came towards her wedding day the Pharaoh asked her to change into a younger form. She promised him she would on the wedding day. She knew she had to leave the city and on the night before her wedding she tried to escape before being caught by the guards.
The Pharaoh realised the woman was not a goddess, like she told him she was, and instead a liar. He sentenced her to death.
Just before her demise she realised how important it was to tell the truth. She arrived back in the room she hadn't been in for years and saw Marinette still young as ever, elle she was in her hands and knees in an old frail body.
Marinette, smiled at her, "I forgive you, Lila."
She helped her walk to the ballroom as Little Robin disappeared, his work was done.
As Marrinette's class saw her walk into the room with an elderly Lila they realised what had happened. It had happened to them as well.
Marinette placed Lila on a chair, before walking over to Damian.
He saw her approaching, "Don't worry I have everything under control. I explained the situation."
She smiled, "So did I. All I wanted was apologies, and with a few years work on their end, I got them."
He raised his brow, "Is that why-"
Marinette couldn't help but kiss him, she had to end on a high, and what a high it was. She hadn't felt as happy in her life, to be in her boyfriend's arms and no longer have the burden of her anger at her classmates.
Suddenly, a bright light, encased the room. All of her classmates who grew older in their time in the past, had changed back into their youthful selves with a new lease of life.
Marinette couldn't believe it, "What? How?"
"Yes, Miraculous isn't it," she and Damian turned to see Alfred, "What true loves kiss can do after a situation with a Miraculous' power. It can reverse almost anything."
"Like the Ladybugs powers?" Marinette asked, blushing at the thought of Damian and herself being eachothers true love.
Alfred smiled, "I would think so, after all a 'Miraculous Ladybug' comes from the love a Ladybug feels for all the people effected by the opposing miraculous. That's why the Ladybug must be good enough to hold all that love in their heart."
With a not so subtle wink Alfred walked off.
Damian smiled and kissed her knuckles, "Well, my true love, shall we dance."
"Yes, we should."
As they danced and looked at eachother lovingly, the rich folk at the party looked even more confused than ever. Maybe even the coldest of hearts can melt.
.....
This was really long, lads, or at least it felt long writing it lol.

Behind enemy lines
Maribat: Robibug, Daminette, Robinette, Damibug
[Robenette chapter!! 😊😳🥳]
Ao3
Part 9. To say this akuma was hard to fight was like saying nothing.
Ladybug couldn’t even come closer to the victim, as they were shouting some sort of lava-balls, burning through the walls of buildings and trees.
And where does Shadowmath even find people with such emotions?!
Ladybug called for her Lucky Charm only to make sure she couldn't get through without Carapace this time. Well, honestly, she could figure it out even without red blacks spotted turtle miraculous.
So she retreated to a nearby roof to hide behind a chimney and feed Tikki before going to search for Nino.
“Tikki, spots off!” She comanded, and gave her qwami a macaroon. “Do you think, Nino is still at school?” Marinette asked, but Tikki didn’t respond.
Marinette looked around worriedly, but instead of her qwami she found Robin, standing across the roof.
“What a civilian doing on a roof near to the akuma?” He asked coldly.
Marinette panicked a little. Would the trick with “I’m in love with you” — like she did to Chat Noir once, when he saw Marinette just after Ladybug detransformed, — work on this guy? Doubtable. Plus, Marinette didn’t feel enough actress inside her to pull this one out. She disliked Robin too much for this.
“I... uh...” She thought fast. “...have to make a video... for my friend’s blog! Yeah! You know, Ladyblog! Haha!”
“Let’s say I believe you.” Robin said, lip curling in a skeptical grin. Right. Even she wouldn’t believe this performance... “How did you enter this roof, when the entrance is locked from inside the building.”
Damn detective, Marinette thought. And why one superhero can’t be left to do her job without answering stupid questions?!
She knew she didn’t technically have to answer them, but she couldn’t leave Robin suspicious about her secret identity. Not after he suggested to her to give up her miraculous!
“I uhh... was too close to the akuma. So... uhh... Ladybug came to rescue me from that fire balls... And then... uhh... she left me here for safety reasons...” There. It sounded reasonable. Right?
“That would be irresponsible to leave a civilian on a rooftop without the possibility to leave it.” Robin said, coming closer. “She is definitely unprofessional, due to not receiving a proper training, but she didn’t seem irresponsible to me.” He added in a suspicious tone.
Though it sounded like an insult, Marinette actually felt like she just received a complement. If this guy thought she was responsible, even without exactly saying that, she thought that probably it would be the greatest praise she could ever get from him.
“I... uhh... asked her for it?” Marinette said uncertainly. “And her powers would probably bring me back down anyway after the fight, so...” Why was she so bad in lying.
“Right.” He didn’t sound convinced. “Did you make you video then?”
“Sure!” Marinette exclaimed a little too cheerfully for it not to sound fake. “All done.”
“Then you have to leave.” He demanded. “I’m not gonna leave a civilian near the fight.”
And before Marinette could argue, he made a step closer and pulled her to him by her waist strongly, before shooting a rope somewhere over their heads and jumping down with her, holding her safely near his body with just one hand.
Marinette was taken by surprise and for a moment she forgot to breathe. All she could feel was his strong body, keeping her safe, while they zipled down to the street.
The experience should have been something similar to what she did herself with her yoyo, but it was nothing like it. Maybe because she wasn’t transformed and it made the same path scarier for her, but at the same time she felt safe with this annoying rude... ally?
Marinette thought that she could feel his heartbeat getting faster, when her arms grabbed his neck reflexively. But his face didn’t express anything except for deed concentration.
When Marinette felt the ground behind her feet and let go of him, to her surprise, she saw Robin jump on a huge sports bike, parked in the ally. He gave a helmet to her.
“Put this on.” Robin commanded.
Marinette would probably start to argue, as she didn’t have time for a ride. But she had to find Nino anyway and this guy didn’t look like the one ready to except a refusal. So it seemed much faster to let him take her to what he assumed was safe for her, and then go doing her job from there.
She sighed and put the helmet on, while Robin was already holding his hand to help her sit behind him.
“You better hold on.” He suggested, and before she knew they were moving at great speed through the city.
Marinette’s heart was bitting fast, while she was probably squeezing his waist from fright. How did he manage to react to vehicles jumping onto the road and maneuver around them, avoiding collisions?!
This was scary and exciting at the same time. She could see now how Robin was able to move through the city so fast and be at the akuma fights on time. His movement speed on this bike was easily comparable to hers when she used the yoyo.
Marinette was so overwhelmed by the experience of fast movement through the streets, that she didn’t even understand how they ended up in front of her parents' bakery.
She blinked at the entrance, and only now realized, how strong she was holding him during all their way here. She let go immediately, and jumped down without waiting for his help, too embarrassed to touch him again.
“How do you know where I leave?” Marinette asked in a surprised tone.
Robin wasn’t suppose to know her as a civilian, let along her address!
“My job is to know.” He smirked and momentarily disappeared from sight.
“He didn’t see you, did he?” Marinette whispered to her purse.
“I don’t think so, Marinette.” Tikki replied. “I think I managed to hide in your purse before he showed up.”
“Good.” Marinette sighed. “That was close though. At least we are near the school now. I think Nino must still be here. Let's go get him!”
*
Damian was still pondering his visit to the bakery, when his phone signaled akuma attack.
It was good that it happened during a short break between classes, otherwise it would be difficult to explain his departure from the lesson, since the attack was far from school and classes continued.
He was prepared for the distance though, so in few minutes he was already driving his motorcycle as Robin towards the place marked in the application.
He parked in the ally and went up the roof across the street from where the akuma was shooting their fire bombs, or what ever it was. But what he found on the roof was unexpected even in circumstances around him.
Marinette was hiding on the roof near to the akuma. She was talking to someone, but no one was around. She must have a communicator in her ear then, Damian guessed.
So she was involved with the akuma again! Coordinating the attack? But he just saw her at school few minutes ago! So how did she bit him to here?! Teleportation devise?
“What a civilian doing on a roof near to the akuma?” He asked, when she turned and saw him.

I am not really a writer, but ever since I discovered fanfiction, I've been hooked on Soulmate AUs. I just find it so amazing that people are able to create so many types of soulmate stories out there. Anyways... I have this daminette soulmate au story in my mind and if anyone were to write it or add more, please feel free to do so and don't forget to tag me. Warning though, the story doesn't really revolve around soulmates.
...
In this Soulmate AU, people find their soulmates when they kiss the person's injuries and it heals. This leads to others wanting to kiss as much people as possible just to find their one true love. But then we have one Damian Wayne who doesn't trust others that easily. He finds the idea of soulmates ridiculous because 'how could anyone let others in especially in their moments of weakness?'.
So, aside from his family, animals, and friend/s (Jon, maybe some Colin? Maps? Or even baby Mar'i), he doesn't really let anyone else get close to him. Then Marinette comes to Gotham after defeating Hawkmoth. Marinette came to Gotham to study as well as to take a rest from being a superhero. She and Damian meet because of plot and has to treat each other well out of necessity (mutual friends? Or a school project? Depends on writer). But then everything changes when a big event occurs.
A villain attacks Gotham and it was so bad that Marinette made the choice of revealing herself. Damian, after finding out that there was more to Marinette than just a bubbly and kind designer and that they technically ran in the same social circles, wanted to know more about her. They began getting closer to each other and spending time together. It came to the point that they started to have feelings for each other.
While spending time together at Marinette's apartment, Damian reflects on how much he loves Marinette and how she become a strength as well as a weakness. He was so distracted that he managed to get his finger cut (papercut? Or a knife) Then in a flash, Marinette grabs the finger and tries to stop the bleeding. They look at each other and suddenly it felt as if they are in their own world.
Marinette looks at him, her bluebell eyes so wide as if asking for permission. He softly smiles at her, nods, and thinks of how much he has changed because of this petite woman. Marinette then slowly, as if in a trance, brings the finger to her lips, kissing it gently.
The End. 🙂🙂🙂
What do you think?

Hello. I'm new to tumblr and i love your daminette fics. J don't know if you still accept requests, but, if you do, is it possible to write a story about what happens after damien exposes lila? One without adrien and nino salt. Thank you
Here you go! Sorry for the long wait, I hope you like it! Let me know what you think!
---------------
Damian really hated this Lila girl. He had yet to actually meet the girl in person, but he already hated her from what Marinette, Adrien, and Nino had told him. This liar had successfully turned the whole class against the trio. At first she had only targeted Marinette, but when it became obvious to Lila that Nino knew the truth, she targeted him too. After seeing this, Adrien knew that Lila was never going to get better, and he tried to reveal her to the class. But Lila avoided each attempt and had now started targeting Adrien too. Now all three of them were class pariahs and were on their own.
------------------
The three friends had met Damian when the Wayne family came to Paris for a few days. They had surprisingly become fast friends. Now they video chat almost every night. So Damian had heard everything about the liar, including her most recent lies about himself. The liar had been saying that she had been dating Damian Wayne until he cheated on her. Damian was going to end the liar problem for his friends right now. No one messes with his friends.
------------------
The next day, Damian was landing in Paris. Marinette, Adrien, and Nino would be in school. Damian knew from them that the liar had just returned from her ‘diplomatic trip to Achu’ and would be at the school that day. Damian made his way to the school, ready to destroy this liar. Damian entered the school and made his way through the school, looking for his friends’ classroom. Soon he found the classroom he was looking for, spotting his friends at the back of the class through the window. He threw open the door and strode inside with an air of superiority. Marinette, Adrien, and Nino stared at Damian in shock, not aware he was coming. Damian stood in front of the class, glaring at them before unleashing chaos.
-------------------
Damian heard the pathetic excuse from a teacher try to get his attention from behind him, but he just glared at her coldly. He then turned back to the class and said in a cold voice, “Which one of you is Lila Rossi?” Lila was hesitant to respond, not sure what this person wanted with her, but she knew that he was going to figure out who she was soon, so she timidly raised her hand. “I am Lila Rossi.” Damian turned the full force of his glare on her. “So you are the liar who has been going on and on about me cheating on you?” Lila paled as she recognized who was standing in front of her. What is Damian Wayne doing here? She had never expected to be face to face with her, let alone that he would hear the stories she had been saying about him! As she stuttered, trying to come up with a cover, Alya stood up. “Who are you to call her a liar?” Damian rolled his eyes and glared at Alya, making her back down slightly. “I am Damian Wayne. I came to Paris for business and imagine my surprise when the big gossip in the city is that a girl here was dating me up until recently when I cheated on her. Problem is I have never met this girl in my life.” Damian pauses and turns back to Lila again. “I want to make this abundantly clear, you will stop lying about me immediately. You will also be hearing from my lawyers regarding a defamation lawsuit. I don’t much appreciate being made out to be a cheater.” Damian turned to leave the classroom, everyone staring in shock. Before he left, he turned back to face the class. “And if I were all of you, I would look into the other stories she has told you. If she lied about me, she could have lied about anyone.” With that, Damian left, attaching a tiny remote camera to the wall so he could watch the chaos.
---------------
Damian turned on the camera signal on his phone and watched as the class just stared at the door. But eventually, the class got their facilities back and turned to Lila. “Lila, what did he mean? Did you actually lie.” Lila, still in shock from being called out by Damian Wayne himself, had difficulty coming up with a story to tell the class. Marinette and her friends took the opportunity. Nino called out from the back of the room, “Of course she is lying. Damian Wayne himself just told you she was. Take his advice, look for proof of any of her other stories. We have been telling you that she was lying for a while now.” Alya seemed hesitant, but slowly pulled out her phone, looking for any proof that Lila wasn’t a liar. But she couldn’t find anything. The class soon exploded at the liar, furious at the deception. Marinette and the rest of the trio watch in amusement. Damian was also watching, smirking at his phone screen at the live stream.
--------------
After this revelation, Mrs. Bustier realized that Lila may have lied about where she was every time she missed class. So she took Lila to Mr. Damocles and insisted on meeting with Mrs. Rossi. When Mrs. Rossi arrived, she was horrified to hear about all the stories her daughter had been telling. Mrs. Rossi was even more horrified to hear about Damian Wayne’s lawsuit against her daughter. At the end of the meeting it was decided that Lila would be in in school suspension for the next several weeks, and would then be in after school detention for the rest of the school year. She would also have to repeat the school year due to all of the school time she missed. It was also decided that all the school work that her classmates did for her due to her various disabilities would not be counted and she would have to redo the assignments herself. Mrs. Rossi also decided that Lila would apologize to her class and admit to everything.
---------------
Lila was furious. How had things gone so wrong? She had been on top of the world just a few days ago. After Damian had appeared, everything changed. She was forced to admit everything to the class and apologize. Because of that, she has become the class pariah, no one would even look at her. Word had spread through out the school, so everyone in the whole school was ignoring her. She was also sent to in school suspension. She was in a separate room from everyone else. She didn’t see anyone all day and so she couldn’t try to recover her influence. She tried to work her new teacher, but the ISS teacher was informed of her lying and wasn’t buying anything. She watched as Marinette reclaimed the class and became popular once again. Marinette was still wary around the class, but was happy they knew the truth now. Lila was furious that the little goody-two-shoes had recovered her reputation.
-----------------
And now Lila had to deal with this lawsuit. Mrs. Rossi decided that her daughter would be on her own for this. Lila would have to deal with everything, and while Mrs. Rossi is technically paying for her daughter’s lawyer, Mrs. Rossi made it abundantly clear that she expected Lila to pay her back every penny. Lila was forced to get a part time job at a store run by a family friend, and Mrs. Rossi made a point to tell the manager of the store that Lila was a liar and to not believe anything she said without proof. The lawsuit wasn’t going well for Lila either, since she had repeated the lie publicly and often, several people were able to confirm that Lila had indeed been saying these things. It was very likely the lawsuit would not end in her favor. Lila was well and truly miserable now, and it was looking like she would be miserable for a long, long time.

Chapter 4: Back to you.
Description: So... I know many Daminette fans don't like Damian being younger than Marinette so 🚨SPoiler AleRT 🚨 Damian is gonna be younger for a while but an event happens that gets their ages exchanged. (Sort of)
Warning; swearing, angst, fluff.
Summary: Where the world reunites with their loved ones..
Previously
"They're back!, They're back!, They're back!" Maps yelled excitedly, almost jumping at him
"Who's back?!"
"The people who disappeared 5 years ago!"
Damian blinked at the short girl in front of him before narrowing his eyes at her "this is no time to play games Mizoguchi."
"I'm not!" Mia huffed "ask anyone else."
Damian looked at her and he knew she wasn't lying, he gave her a small nod before heading back towards the washrooms.
"Wait!" Mia yelled, holding his wrist "Can you drop me to Olive house?"
"No." Damian deadpanned
"Can I at least have your grapple gun?"
"No" Damian sighed "Sorry Maps, I've gotta go"
Mia nodded "fine. you owe me a waffle bar!"
Damian rolled his eyes at her before running back, wasting no time. "Plagg! Claws out!"
"Aw come on!" Plagg hissed, before disappearing into the ring.
***
Damian ran across roof tops, he felt sick. Where they really there? how did they disappear? What if he went home and found out nobody was actually there? what was he going to to say? So many Questions jumped around his head, but he kept moving either way. He jumped over the large compound of his house calling out "Plagg claws in!" His black and green suit dissolved and was replaced with his uniform. He landed on the soft grass smoothly Before running around large fountain in front of his destination.
Damian panted, looking around. Jason's new bike was spread on the ground carelessly, and the car was literally half-hazardously parked.
He ran towards the large doors shoving it open...
to meet his family laughing and crying in Joy.
They were here. They were all here. Dick, Cass, Steph, Alfred, Selina, Kate, Chloe and Marinette.
Damian could only stare, They looked like they never aged a day, except Alfred who seemed to look younger.
"Damian?" Dick asked, a shocked look on his face which quickly dissolved into a bright smile "Oh my god you look so big!" He yelled, tackling him to the ground "Did you miss me?"
"TT, of course not."
"Liar" Tim laughed with tear stained cheeks "he cried everyday for two years."
"I didn't!" Damian hissed, still in the embrace of his older brother. "Uh-huh, sure." Bruce smiled his arms around Selina
"Father!"
"Wait, wait, wait." Chloe interrupted "what do you mean two years? We've just been gone for like, five minutes"
"Yeah! What's with that?" Steph asked in confusion
"You guys have been Gone for 5 years" Tikki said slowly while the others were nodding in agreement
"That's impossible, I was definitely there for 15 hours"
"It felt like five minutes for me" Chloe said as Cass nodded
"You guys sure you didn't hit your heads on your way back?" Jason joked
"Do you remember where you guys were?" Bruce asked
"Yes" Marinette nodded "It was-It was beautiful, it felt like you were in the middle of the universe without any care and so many different colors were there. Just like stars and galaxies"
"The quantum realm!" Fluff exclaimed "of course! Why didn't I think of that?!"
"What's a quantum realm?"
"The Quantum Zone, the realm where all the energy of the universe come from, and the Microverse, which consists of many different sub-atomic dimensions all accessible through the same means as they are in the Marvel Cinematic Universe." Fluff thought out loud
Jason blinked in confusion "I didn't understand a single shit."
"Language" Alfred warned.
"The Quantum Realm is a dimension that can be entered from Earth by compressing a human's mass to a certain point. Entering the Quantum Realm could potentially cause the person who enters it to shrink forever. Due to the nature of the realm, time passes differently and is more fluid. As a result, with the right equipment, the Quantum Realm can be used for time travel though its impossible to change one's own timeline when traveling into the past in such a manner." Fluff continued
"Still don't get it" Jason shrugged
"You would if you were smarter." Damian snorted
"In a simpler way...A person needs to be really tiny to enter the quantum realm and time passes differently for each person" Tim explained
"Ohhhhh, I get it now!"
"So you're telling we've been stuck in time?" Kate asked
Fluff nodded "except for Alfred, who seemed to travel back in time." which made chaos rise.
"You're telling me we've been missing for five years?!"
"Wait so technically I'm the oldest" Jason laughed evilly
"No you're not! I'm still a year older than you!" Dick smirked
Damian almost gave out a smile, until he noticed Marinette sitting silently on the ground staring at her hands. He crawled towards her, out of Dicks grip and sat next to the girl muttering a small "hey"
"Hi" Marinette mumbled back, glancing at him.
"What's wrong?"
"I-it just seems so unreal, five years? That's like my teenage life. Tim's all grown up! How old is he? 22? and-"
"Hey! hey! Calm down, it's fine. if it helps you feel better, You can always taunt them on how young you are."
"-And you've grown up all tall and muscular and pretty-"
"Pretty?" Damian asked, his face turning red.
"The world has obviously changed! I don't know how you lived without Alfred or Me and Selina because you guys don't know a shit about cooking, and why didn't our miraculouses fade away with us? I could've done something to come back earlier"
"Stop it!" He said grabbing her shoulders "you've done the best you could And what really matters is that you're home"
"Oh and you've gotten soft." She gave him a teary smile before Pouncing on him, giving him a bear hug.
He wrapped his arms around her small body, rocking her back and forth questioning "Do you really think I'm Muscular and pretty"
"No!" Marinette squeaked quickly as she pulled away from their hug "I'm just really tired, and floating in space is really exhausting"
"Mm-hmm, sure" he smiled pecking her cheek, which made Marinette melt on the insides "you hungry?"
"Do you even know how to cook?" Marinette asked
"Hey, we learnt a thing or two when you guys disappeared." Damian chuckled, pulling Marinette to her feet while looking at his brothers questioningly, who were busy wrestling on the couch "You idiots need anything from the kitchen?"
"Yesss" Dick grinned "I want cereal."
"Noodles please!"
"Same here!"
                                                           ...
So how was the it ?....
Okkkk, I know it was pretty lame and all, The only reason I posted this was because I've had this draft for some time and I didn't have the heart to delete it because that would mean I only wasted my time. Soooooo I posted it. Kill me. My dignity is dead, I've got nothin to lose.

Damian "protector of the kwami" Wayne. - AU.
Daminette/Maribat stories we have seen Damian being kinda rude or indifferent to the kwami. But considering that these tiny gods are technically animals and Damian adores animals... I think his relationship with them would be different.
How about some fluff? Damian spoiling them and basically adopting them all. From making them a custom wooden mansion, feeding them their favorite foods and taking care of them as he would with his pets.
The kwami absolutely approves of their guardian's boyfriend.
Duusu, Nooroo and Damian bonding over being abused victims and forced to kill for their previous masters.
Are the Gods of all things animals? Makes sense to him.

After All
Chapter One, “Yes mama.”
This was actually initially made for Day 26, School in Daminette December- butttt I got carried away and decided to make it a chapter kinda deal. So here’s chapter one, no Damian yet!
Marinette wasn’t a bad student, per say, but she definitely wasn’t the best. Her grades being evidence to that statement. She would never be the smartest of the bunch, but she could say with pride that her grades have never slipped to below a C. So when her grades mysteriously started lowering in Mlle Bustiers class, it raised a handful of eyes. Some just looked away, only giving it a glance, while other eyes became sharp and accusing. Her mother eyes became especially sharp, but not at her, but her teacher.
“Marinette, you’re going to stay home today. No leaving, understand” her mother’s voice suddenly rang out one day while she was getting ready. Her tone was of finality, there were no chances of Marinette arguing.
“Yes mama, I’ll just stay in my room.” She responded, just turning back on her toes, heading back up the stairs.
Marinette had a feeling of what was happening, as her mama had been hinting to it for a while now. Well, I guess it was time to finally getting around to finding a new school.
Her mother came of frustrated, but with papers. Her transcript, perhaps? But it didn’t matter, because the second her mama came home, she was swept up in  a hug. A fierce hug.
“Mama?” Her voice gave way to her confusion, her tone furthering the emotion.
“Oh my Marinette, I can’t believe how you were able to put up with those (pig head)s! My poor daughter, having to experience such idiots!” Her hug only became tighter, her mother’s voice was harsh but soft, her eyes softening when looking at her.
“Mamaaaaa! You’re crushing me!”
“Shush. Just accept it, my Marinette.”
“Ah! Mama, papa, look! This school has a scholarship program for fashion and designing!” Her sweet daughters voice rang out, it was melodic.
“But isn’t that a bit to far? It’s in New Jersey, America. You would have to fly there, buttercup.” Her father’s voice was concerned, but ultimately was fine with it.
“It’s fine (love), Mari would get to have a fresh start, and didn’t we discuss moving locations anyways? It would be a great opportunity for our Marinette.” Her mama smiled, happy for her daughter.
A few weeks later, an email made it’s way into Marinette’s inbox.
“MAMA!!!!! PAPA!!!!!! I GOT ACCEPTED!!! KYAA!!!!” She had screamed, falling onto her bed. She grabbed a pillow and hugged it, rolling onto the floor.
“Gotham, New Jersey, here we come. I hope your ready for the Dupain-Chengs!”
Taglist: this be empty, yeet.
*Decided not to tag Daminette December, since it’s technically not completely written for it. (I’m sorry for my bad explanations.)*
Note: It shall be continued, even if I have to force my friend to make me do so. I hope you can look forward to it’s continuation. Posting this without editing or making it a draft. If this messes up, I will cry but I do have notes and a copy.

What the Batfamily's roles in your Daminette Shrek AU?
Hmmmm so the whole idea of the Shrek AU was not using ogres but still having that fun kick to it. Technically speaking all of them are "assassins" but Damian is the most threatening. OOOH I got it! Let me flesh this out for y'all
The Wayne's all care deeply for each other they just have a funny way of showing it. They all tried to escape the assassin lifestyle but Damian was way too caught up in making people fear him that he ran away trying to protect his family's feelings while still feeling like himself.
Bruce made a name for himself. He took his son's that stayed with him and had them all work for him in a new company that he started. He eventually had himself a king's fortune and the Wayne kingdom was born.
Dick would find himself sneaking to his brother's fort in the forest just to watch him train. He would have to leave after only minutes because it was sad to watch his brother's life be wasted on useless training.
Jason didn't really care that his brother left. The twerp annoyed him anyway... ok so maybe he misses him a bit but that's not his fault. He loves his brother but he knows that if he goes to visit he'll never leave.
Tim is sad that no one is picking on him anymore or switching out his coffee for bleach. Sure that one time he drank it by accident was scary but he'd rather have Damian than this silence and sadness in the house.
When they hear that Damian got married (more like Dick saw that there was a girl and two other boys who looked so happily in love now at the fort) everyone lost their minds and went over to his place.
...aaaaaaaand that's where I'm going to leave this one cause it's getting long and I still have another one to write and schedule post sooooooo until next time I leave you with this meme.

Feeling Trapped and Gaining Freedom
Day 10, 12, & 13
@daminette-december2019-2020
Masterlist
Contains bad parents Tom and Sabine.
Trapped. Damian felt trapped. He had been benched and grounded  yet again from patrol because he apparently killed someone. But he didn't, he really didn't. The man had chosen to stab himself with his fallen sword, and yet when he told the rest of the family, they didn't believe. Disbelief and shame written clearly on their faces. It hurt if he was being honest. Even after living together for five years they still doubted him. Trapped, he wasn't given a choice but to obey. He never told anyone, but he could feel the family growing on him. The fact that they didn't believe him hurts more than he would like to admit. So he did it. One thing that he had never thought he would be doing. He devised a plan and packed a bags.
He left the place that was just beginning to feel like home.
~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~
Trapped. Marinette felt trapped. She closed her eyes as she replayed the insults that had been thrown her way in her head. She ignored Tikki's concerned glances. She ignored her parents' shouts and degrading. Marinette thought about what she did wrong, she must've done something that caused everyone to turn on her so easily. She closed her eyes and looked at the ring on her finger. The cat miraculous. What did she do that made her partner join sides with Hawkmoth? Is she in the wrong for all that has happened to her? She must've done something. But what? She unconsciously walked to the miracle box and took her earrings and her ring off, placing them in their respective places along with the brooches that had been lost and dropped off on her balcony. She did the one thing that she has been planning all week. She put the miracle box in her bag, leapt of her balcony, and called for a portal.
She left the place that hadn't felt like home in a long time.
~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~
They both ended up in New York. Wandering on the streets, with nowhere to go. Fate had decided that they should meet. They got to know each other and decided to go through this together. Marinette eventually told Damian of all her secrets and as did he. With luck, an old couple found both and decided to house them. Marinette recognize her. It was Marianne Lenoir and her old mentor, Wang Fu. They felt guilty for using them like this, so as a repayment for their hospitality, they started a small business which was soon to be growing.
Soon enough, news reached that people were looking for them. They hid and only two years later did the search die down. By that time, feelings had sprouted between the both of them. They started dating and eventually Damian proposed. Albeit young, they knew they would not spend time with anyone else. She is his ladybug and he is her black cat, or soulmates as the kwamies would say. They were wedded by Marianne who told them to not ask questions.
They didn't expect to receive and invitation by the one and only Bruce Wayne and Timothy Drake.
'Dear Mr. D and Mrs. M of the Boutique D'oiseaux et De Coccinelles' it read, their known aliases written. 'You are invited to this years Wayne New Year's Charity Masquerade' continued by the time, date, place and the signatures of both CEOs. They thought about it. Marinette knew Damian missed his family even though he wouldn't admit it.
"It's a masquerade Dames," Marinette said to him, "If you don't want to then don't go, but if you do no one would know." "And if they find out?" Damian reasoned, "I just can't go back becoming a boy that is expected to do everything right." "Dove, look at me," she said, "Even if they did, you are a legal adult, they can't do anything about that."
They both pondered on the thought.
Should they go? Should they not?
656 words
To be continued by the 31st prompt. So... Technically this is prompt 10 (Freedom), 12 (Soulmate AU), & 13 (Trapped).
XOXO

could you do A for the soul mate thing with felinette?
(Sorry it took me so long to reply! I’m still trying to keep up with my schedule for the “New Girl on the Block” fic, but rest assured that I’m totally writing all of the requests for this when I can! The next one I’m going to be working on is V for Daminette. I hope you enjoy the snippet and thank you for the ask!!)
If someone had the choice between technical immortality and certain death, it should be safe to assume that that person would accept the former. Technical immortal was the only logical option, after all. No one wanted to die. And yet, people chose death everyday. In fact, they were obsessed with it, because certain death guaranteed one thing that immortality couldn’t: a soulmate.
When a person turns eighteen, their aging process freezes due to some strange magic that scientists still can’t explain. From then on, that person will remain eighteen until they find their soulmate, specifically until they touch their soulmate directly with bare skin. Once their soulmate is found, they will begin aging as usual, as if they’d never become temporarily immortal in the first place. Some people speculate that this gives the two soulmates a chance to grow old together.
Felix, personally, believed that it gave him a chance to harbor an unlimited life span free of charge. Who needs a soulmate when you can explore all of the things in the world that are normally hindered by the aging process? There were too many things that he wanted to accomplish for him to worry about something as fickle as love or relationships.
One of those things happened to be building up the fashion empire that he had inherited.
It was hard to gain the respect that he deserved at first considering his physical appearance made him seem like a child, but once people found out that he was in his late twenties, it made things much easier. Now, three years has passed since his accepting the role of acting CEO, and the company’s success rate has been steadily rising until their profits were through the roof. He’s quite proud of it, if he’s being honest.
Felix straightened the papers on his desk and set them to the side, catching the glimpse of his golden wrist watch as he did so. The little hand pointed towards one in the morning, telling him that he’d spent another late night at the office. He didn’t mind, though. These were the things that needed to be done for his company to excel.
However, he also needed sleep for the company to excel, and this seemed like a good stopping point if ever he saw one, so Felix stood from his rolling chair to begin gathering his things to leave.
“Hey, Sir, are you up there?” A voice crackled across the intercom. Felix paused his preparations to smile at it. It was the unmistakable voice of Marinette Dupain-Cheng, his personal secretary for the last two years (and his close friend for the last year and a half). They always happened to work late on the same nights, didn’t they?
He pressed the glowing red button on the intercom. “You know I am. What do you need?”
“I’m working on another piece for a fashion show. I want your input.”
Felix chuckled. How many of her pieces had he given his input on now?
“I’ll be down there in a second.”
“You’re the best!”
Felix set his stuff back on the desk and moved towards the door to his office. He hesitated briefly when he spotted his black, leather gloves on the edge of his desk- he made a point to wear them constantly, along with a number of other pieces of clothing, so he could avoid direct skin contact with others. No sense in taking any chances -but decided to leave them alone for once. Marinette should be the only other person in the office, anyway. It wouldn’t make a difference.
He took an elevator down to the second floor, where most of his top designers worked, and walked over to the desk that had its lamp turned on. He’d know which desk was hers either way- could probably find it in his sleep at this point -but it was a nice give away.
Marinette was crouched on the floor when he got there, stabbing a needle into some material that was draped across a mannequin. Her eyes were narrowed with concentration, and her tongue was poking out of her lips as it always did when she was working hard. Felix held back a snort at the endearing sight and glanced around her desk while he waited for her to notice his presence.
When she first joined his company, she was a budding fashion designer, someone who had been gaining a bit of fame for working with Gabriel Agreste, Jagged Stone, Aubrey Bourgeois, and many other note-worthy people. Apparently, she thought it was time to build a business of her own, and therefore, applied for the job as his personal secretary in an effort to gain experience on how a business should be run before actually starting anything.
The notion admittedly impressed Felix. People rarely thought to find personal experience in running a business before actually starting one. They normally just took a class and hoped that it paid off. Someone with that kind of rational thinking was someone he knew he wanted in his company, though, so he agreed to hire her, even if she would still be working independently on personal commissions.
Now that two years had passed, she would probably be leaving any minute now to become her own boss. It might be in a week, or in a few months, perhaps even a year, but he found himself dreading it no matter how long she continued to work for him. He’d grown quite accustomed to having her in his life, be it getting lunch together or going over the morning schedule or giving each other advice on their work. The quiet moments they shared made work life a little more enjoyable and made those rare nights of loneliness from refusing a soulmate a little more tolerable too.
“Oh, Felix!”
Felix’s eyes dragged back down to Marinette, who was staring up at him with wide eyes.
“When did you get down here?”
A small smile crossed his lips. “You know how it used to be one in the morning?”
Marinette tisked, picking up on his light-hearted tone. “Oh, whatever. If you don’t want to get stuck waiting then tell me when you get here. Now, come look at this and tell me what you think.”
She stood up and moved away from the mannequin, then gestured for Felix to step closer, which he gladly obliged to do. The outfit hanging on the mannequin was a dress that appeared to have several layers and a few frills. It seemed to be made out of silk on the inside, and on the inside was another material that had an antique, flower pattern. The way the materials were sown together, though, and the things she must have added to the flower pattern, didn’t  give off the impression of it being old or outdated. It was a mix between old and new that created a unique combination.
“I think it looks fine.” He said after studying it.
Marinette groaned. “Fine doesn’t help me, Felix. What does it strike you as? Stunning? Charming? Old-Fashioned? I know you have more descriptive terms than ‘fine’ in that word bank brain of yours.”
Felix laughed. “Work bank brain?”
“You know what I mean.”
He does.
“Alright, Alright.” He knelt down next to the outfit again. “Might I inquire about your purpose for this garment?”
“See, there are fancy words you use all the time.” She remarked teasingly, even though she often used the same words herself. “I’m trying to create a modern Victorian type of style for my next show.”
Felix hummed. “Can I see the sketches?”
“Oh, yeah, they’re right over here.”
The pair moved back to Marinette’s desk, and she sat down in her rolling chair to slide a paper towards him. Felix leaned towards Marinette, placing his palms on the desk for balance.
“So, if you look at- oh!” Marinette had just started explaining her original thoughts for the design, when their hands brushed against each other. She drew her hand back immediately, surprise reflecting in her bluebell eyes.
“You’re not wearing any gloves.”
“Ah.” Felix drew his hands back as well. “No, I’m not. I figured they were a waste of time tonight, since it’s only us here.”
“Oh..” Marinette said. “I don’t think I’ve ever touched your bare skin before.. N-not that I’m keeping track or anything! Wow, that sounded so weird-”
Felix, being used to her ramblings by now, only chuckled. “It’s alright. I don’t think we’ve ever touched like that either.”
In fact, he knew they hadn’t, because he does keep track of who he does and doesn’t touch with his bare skin. So far, he’s managed to maintain a low count of five or so, but he supposed adding one more to the list didn’t hurt.
“Anyway, I like the way it looks. The colors combine nicely, and I can certainly see where you’re coming from with the modern, yet old-fashioned design. I’m sure people will enjoy them, especially for costume parties.”
“My thoughts exactly.” Marinette smiled. “Thanks for your help.”
“Of course. I’m actually on my way out the door, but don’t hesitate to call me if you need anything else.”
“You know I won’t.”
Felix laughed and pushed himself off of the desk to begin making his way back to the elevator. “Make sure you leave soon too.”
“Yeah, yeah, I will.. Eventually.”
Felix threw her a playful glare over his shoulder. “I’m not kidding, Dupain-Cheng. If I see bags under those eyes tomorrow, you’re going to be fired until you get a proper night’s sleep.”
“Thank goodness for make-up then.” She joked back.
Felix rolled his eyes and bid her farewell as he entered the elevator, and her soft call of “Goodnight, Boss” managed to reach him right before the doors slid closed.
-
The next morning began as any other morning. Felix woke up to his blaring alarm clock, forced himself out of bed, and started the brew for his morning coffee. He then dragged himself over to the bathroom to get ready for the day, starting with his hair.
The mirror provided a picture of his sluggish figure as he combed his platinum blond locks to the side. His hair didn’t seem to care to cooperate that morning though, because his cowlick was refusing to lay aside as they were told. No matter how many times he combed over it, the chaotic locks refused to budge.
Felix huffed and leaned closer to the mirror, but before he could continue furiously coming his hair, something caught his attention.
At the front of his bangs, dangling loosely to the side of his face, was a single, grey hair.
Felix frowned, moving even closer to the mirror to get a better. It was definitely a grey hair, but why on earth would he have one? People at the age of eighteen didn’t get grey hairs, and he’d never gotten one before. The only reason he could possibly get a grey hair out of the blue like this was if-
Felix froze, his eyes blowing wide. No.. no, it couldn’t be. There’s no way he found his soulmate. It was impossible. The aging process only started when he touched them directly, skin to skin, and he’d been horribly precise not to do so with anyone under any circumstances.
Well.. anyone except..
A knock came from the front door.
Although his mind was racing for answers, Felix pulled himself together enough to throw on a robe and go answer the door.
Imagine his surprise when he found none other than Marinette standing right outside.
She looked up at him, her figure tense, and a certain anxiety painted her features. He wanted to ask what she was doing there, or why she hadn’t called to tell him that she was coming, but all he could do was stare. Perhaps it was because a part of him already knew why she’d come to visit him. She was the only person he’s touched directly in the last year, the only person who could have caused his hair to change.
Slowly, Marinette held up a strand of her hair. It was hard to make out, being a single strand, but Felix didn’t need to see it know it was grey too.
They stared at each other, both floored by the discovery, but then Felix almost had to laugh. Because of course it was her. Of course the person who he had come to know and adore and yearn to be around daily would be his soulmate. He should have known that soulmates would find each other eventually, whether they had “Soulmate Magic” to guide them or not.
Before he could say anything, Marinette let out a grieved sigh and buried her face in her hands.
“Oh, Felix, I.. I’m so sorry!”
For a moment, Felix stalled, and worry started to set in. She’s sorry? Why would she be sorry?
“What do you mean?”
Marinette looked up from her hands. “I know you didn’t want to find your soulmate and start aging. I should have noticed your ungloved and been more careful, but I just wasn’t thinking, and-”
Felix blinked as she continued rambling. This girl was apologizing to him because she accidentally found out that they were soulmates. She wasn’t thinking about how much she’d wanted to find her soulmate- because he knew that she did -or that she would have gone without a soulmate for the rest of her life had she not made the discovery. No, she was thinking about him and what he had wanted, just as she always did.
“Marinette.” He said, taking her by the shoulders. “Marinette, stop.”
The ravenette paused, glancing up at him with her beautiful, concerned eyes, and he felt himself smile.
“If anyone had to be stuck as my soulmate.. I can’t express how delighted I am that it’s you.”
A wonderful blush tinted her cheeks. “R-Really? But I thought- what about being immortal?”
Felix chuckled, and he reached out to cup her cheek. “Immortality’s a small price to pay to have you.. if you’ll have me too, that is.”
Marinette exhaled, looking completely baffled, but that didn’t stop her from grabbing the back of his neck and pulling him into a kiss.
“Yes.” She breathed, a shining smile coming to her features. “Yes, of course I’ll have you.”
Felix couldn’t help grinning as well, and as he pressed another kiss to her lips, he wondered how it could have taken him so long to realize what the soulmate magic was really all about. It wasn’t a choice between immortality or death, but rather a choice between immortality and life. All of the things he’d been searching for- fame, fortune, glory -and the experiences he’d been chasing meant nothing without Marinette by his side. She was the one who made him feel truly alive, and he never wanted to live without her again.

Miraculess Ladybug Salt AU: You Always Liked To Play With Fire ~ The Prologue
Hey everyone, this is a new story I wanted to introduce to you all.
I’ve been putting everything in a massive word doc because I had so many ideas and finally settled on putting it out today because it's my birthday. 29th, I may have updated it late.
Yay.
So as a special treat, here’s a new series with a few original characters, ones you know or have been changed ever so slightly to fit, in a Miraculess world. (haha, you see what I did there? No… I’ll leave)
Also for anyone new, I’m a multi-shipper so I ship my characters with a bunch of other people, as I like Lukanette (Fandom Version), Daminette (Fandom Version), Felinette (PV Fandom Version), Marichat (Fandom Version) and I guess Rosannette. What’s Rosannette? Well, I guess you’ll have to find out, won’t you? (also no that’s not a typo, it is Rosannette)
Also, I guess this will just have the usual salt, maybe more, I don’t know. I kinda want it to just be about these two.
Word Count: 3912
Note: I haven’t tagged anyone just in case, this is a different series from my other, I just got really excited and wanted to write it. If you still wish to be tagged for this story please say and specify.
Also: This is a salt story, it will have OOC moments from everyone so it will be classed as an AU. If you don’t want to read that’s fine, and have a nice day.
Well, I hope you’ll enjoy it.
This is for all the people that might prefer Rosinette (like from the songfic) instead, I don’t mind but it won’t be in my main series, so I hope this will satisfy you.
(Word of warning, I believe this will be an AU where the Miraculous don’t exist, and non-canon to my official story and I believe mentions of a panic attack might be lightly mentioned, don’t know if it is, but if someone could check and I’ll make the warning clearer that would be nice)
Summary:
(Fire doesn't exactly have anything to do with this story I just really liked the title)
Note: This book contains OOC scenes of Miraculous Ladybug as well as a ton of salt, so if you don't like that stuff you may scroll past and have a nice day.
In a world with no Miraculous, no Hawkmoth and no Ladybug, how does our little heroine do?
Well, it usually would be hanging out with her friends, as any other teenager would do...
But, of course, this wasn't normal.
This was reality. It was cold, hard and definitely not welcome.
So, when this girl wishes to have some kind of adventure in her boring, mundane life...
How long does it take for her to regret it?

Memories, it's such a simple word yet it holds so much meaning. One could either wish to forget everything from their life, and simply move forward so they could pursue their dreams. Or, simply relish in the past when they remembered how great it was, all the friends they had made, all the moments they had which were too good to let go.
.
But, I guess sometimes, you did have to let go. But let go of what exactly? Let go of all the happiness once you knew how it would end? No that would be too harsh and you’d turn bitter. Let go of all the sadness? But, wasn’t it an important life lesson to learn, sometimes, you just have to be sad because of the situation at hand. No amount of croissants or macarons would be able to lift your spirits back.
.
Or maybe that was too much of a specific example.
That was what Marinette had thought, staring at an empty glass so intently the man behind made himself disperse from the amount of time the unblinking woman just stared and never flinched.
She guessed it hadn’t all been bad, she at least had some form of happiness before it was violently ripped away, but part of her wondered, what would’ve happened if she never felt that type of happiness before? Would she have felt like she had for so long, was it the fact that she knew what being happy was like before worse? Because, as depressing as it sounded, if she hadn’t been as happy, would she have been as upset?
She would never know, she couldn’t go back in time since that was impossible, but the thought always came and went whenever she was alone with her thoughts.
So… Maybe it was for the best, that she was able to remember what real happiness felt like.
The tight feeling in your chest, butterflies in your stomach, face being so red anyone would worry if the bluenette had caught a cold instead-
Wait- this was an oddly specific kind of happiness she felt, surely she must’ve gotten mixed up with some other felling right?
Right!?
So, how come she was feeling this- incredibly bright heat from her cheeks when she felt a hand on her shoulder?
We may need to go back several years.
***
In a classroom in Collège Françoise Dupont, a young pigtailed girl sat at the back, tears silently falling onto her knees and bawled up fists. She didn’t see any use of wiping them away, since they would just come back anyway, and it would be useless to just repeat that endless cycle. She hadn’t looked around to see anyone else’s faces, they would either just ignore her, or taunt her for just crying, for just being human.
Now you may be wondering why she was so upset? What possibly could’ve happened to make our very cheerful and sunshiny girl become so hunched over she was practically crying her eyes out? Well, the answer lies on the one girl at the front. The one girl sitting in an all too familiar place. The one girl who just ruined all of her newfound friendships.
Lila Rossi.
And boy had she hated that name.
She couldn’t stand that smirk, that thief, that scandal!
And what exactly did she do?
.
She lied.
Now you may be thinking that may not have been all that bad, but it was.
Every time she opened her mouth, everyone would fawn around her, even Alix, the one who seriously couldn’t care about anything to do with glamourous celebrities, was hanging on the edge of her seat to hear one of Lila’s so-called stories. She just had to guess Lila held up a treat over her head to keep her being obedient enough.
She hated Lila so much because she was just using everyone to get an easy life at school, the fastest way towards popularity she guessed, but why she thought this was the fastest way was beyond her.
She hated Lila because she had spread so many lies, so many rumours, all about her. All so out of the realm it was such a surprise they all believed her without a shred of evidence.
It had happened so fast, one day, they were all friends, smiling and laughing like there was no tomorrow, the next, she was surrounded by those faces, those faces of disgust and hatred. As if she had committed even the worst of crimes, more so than Chloé, speaking of, who was absolutely enjoying this show.
But undoubtedly. What she hated about Lila the most.
.
Was that technically, she didn’t have to do that much.
After so many sessions of crying, and just not believing that they could possibly leave her, a friend, like that, she started to reason with herself, that maybe it wasn’t just Lila that pushed them all away.
She thought back to before.
Before they were friends, before Alya even came to Collège, she had been alone. Chloé had always gone out of her way to relentlessly bully her, and no one wanted to be friends with her with Chloé around. So she accepted it, just hoping one day, karma would seek justice and she’d be put in her place.
So she waited.
And waited.
And waited.
And waited.
And-
Gave up.
She accepted defeat after all the years. After the meaningless conversations with teachers that she should try and be the bigger person and rise above all of her hatred for her. Simply because they couldn’t do anything. They had no power over the mayor's Daughter. So they just let her continue her reign over the school.
She didn’t have any powers to stop her.
.
But then, a light of hope came.
The new girl, with ombre brown and red hair, glasses and hazel eyes. A striped t-shirt and an undeniable Aura that reeked of confidence.
As Marinette was being targeted by Chloé yet again, she came in, and for once, stood up to her. Chloé! No fear in her eyes as she, Alya, grabbed her, Marinette’s, hand and walked off to the desk at the front.
She couldn’t believe it, someone stood up to Chloé! She thought it had only been a myth, a legend, but that right there, it was real.
They became friends faster than the speed of sound.
And soon, she too was able to stand up for herself. Reclaiming her original seat back, and citing a quote her new friend had said… Then everyone had wanted to become friends… And, she felt ecstatic.
Finally. It finally came. The day she had prayed for had come. She felt nothing but pure joy.
And she didn’t want that feeling to go away.
She was terrified that the feeling would go away.
So, she thought of making sure that feeling wouldn’t go away.
That’s why she made so many ‘spare’ macaroons to give away, she didn’t spend her free nights staying up and making them, no way.
That’s why she provided so many free gifts to her friends. What? Her hand has a plaster, no she just tripped and hit herself, it had nothing to do with the gifts. Don’t worry, try your gloves on, do they fit?
That’s why she was late for class. Huh, no I’m fine, I’m not tired… But I might just rest my eyes for a bit, wake me up when something important happens.
That’s why she was so happy to realise Adrien wasn’t as bad as Chloé, the small gentle soul that he had, to graciously provide her with his own umbrella, how selfless.
And that’s why she held onto the idea of Adrien so much. The idea that he was perfect. The idea that she was in love with him.
So, she held onto it.
No, she clung to that idea because she didn’t want any chance to let go. So, she may have gone a bit overboard, with the whole, schedule thing, and the phone… And the schemes. But she believed it was harmless. No one else seemed to have any problems with it, so she believed she was in the clear.
Until she wasn’t.
And Lila used that to her advantage.
She remembered that day so vividly, just like all those other memories. The day she came. The day she would find herself in the same predicament from before, it hadn’t been that long since she had been friends with everyone in fact. She was still getting used to it, and her feelings grew as each day passed by.
She remembered when Lila introduced herself to the whole class, and at first glance, anyone would just think she was an innocent little girl. But behind that smile, behind those eyes, held a sinister intention.
She, in less than an hour, had everyone wrapped around her little finger.
Even her.
She’d been on a private jet?
Had a song written about her?
And saved Jagged Stone’s cat?
There was no way Adrien would fall for her now.
…So maybe she had been jealous of that girl before she had done anything. But she had every reason to. She, Lila, was pressed against Adrien who was happily talking to her. The love of her life! She had to do something, even if Alya had given her a disappointed look she just had to stop them from confessing their love to each other, it was inevitable now, so she followed after them to the park. If they even got too close, she was sure she could just conveniently interrupt, she just had to wait for the perfect moment, she only had a couple of hours before they would fall in love, get married, have three kids and a hamster named-
“Wow Adrien, you’re so nice to me. Y’know I really thought moving here would be just like all the other times. But you’ve really made me enjoy my first day Adrien.” She smiled so sickly sweet Marinette wanted to hurl, how dare she just hold onto his arm like that, so affectionately!
“Its no problem Lila, that’s what friends are for.” She smiled, hugging him so fast they almost lost their balance from sitting on the bench, before seemingly giving him a quick peck on his cheek, only for Adrien to turn his head towards her.
And they kissed.
However, it wasn’t a simple quick kiss, by all means, Adrien should’ve realised his mistake and pulled away.
But he didn’t, what felt like forever lasted a minute. One minute to realise that it should’ve been an accident. But they stayed like that.
It- it was over, wasn’t it? This wasn’t her being melodramatic, she just knew how it would turn out. They were going to fall in love so soon, she wouldn’t have a chance.
If only she had seen the look Lila gave, spotting her retreated form from behind a small trash can, the smirk would’ve given her shivers.
***
Getting back to Collège had taken longer than expected. Maybe it was the small amount of dread knowing she may have lost her love for good. Sure, there might have been Kagami as well, she had tried to sabotage her chances with Adrien too, but it always worked out in the end, Adrien always smiling as Kagami’s cheeks burned with redness. But to say they were friends afterwards.
Marinette would cringe at the fact she always felt so relieved afterwards reflecting years later at her choices. But she had always believed she would still have a chance.
Until today.
Lila came, and took him away, within hours.
And she couldn’t stop it.
Walking along the stairs to her class she had to keep her head held high, if she showed weakness, that would mean she was sad, she wasn’t sad, she couldn’t be sad. She still had all of her friends after all.
Maybe now, they could do more activities, after crying and eating a ton of ice cream of course with cheesy movies to brighten her mood up.
But, this would only be the beginning of that negative feeling.
Opening the door, she would be fully aware of something terribly wrong. At the front of the classroom, a crowd had formed, and a crowd that would soon become a routine in this classroom.
But a crowd formed around a girl, the new girl, Lila. She had seemed to be covering her eyes, water dripping down her eyes, no wait they were tears. What had happened?
She didn’t realise she had spoken those few words before heads turned around, looking- no glaring at her, why were they-? What had she done?
“Marinette I knew you could be a tad jealous but to actually do something like that” Huh? Oh no, Lila must’ve noticed she followed them, how embarrassing, and definitely not the best first impression she could’ve made.
Before she could apologise, before she could explain she really didn’t mean any harm. She didn’t have time to.
“To threaten her to never talk to Adrien again because she likes him. Well, I never thought you’d put your jealousy out like this.”
What!?-
No- she didn’t- she, just saw them kiss.
She didn’t even speak with her.
Why would she say this?
Why didn’t she say anything?
Why wasn’t she defending herself?
Why was she letting them believe that so easily?
Why
Why
Why.
.
Why was it so hard to breathe?
Running out of the classroom was easier than looking at all of those faces. Those accusatory faces. She hated it, she couldn’t do- defend- explain.
She- just-
She-
She-
She-
She was in a room?
The bathroom.
It didn’t matter why, as long as she was alone, she could cry to her heart's content.
The fear seeped over her just like that first time, knowing Chloé had won and would never stop, she had lost and lost everything.
Everything she had worked so hard to obtain.
Everything she had worked so hard to keep.
To make sure she didn’t have to let go.
And now it had gone.
Because it was then Marinette realised. That girl, those tears hadn’t been real, there she saw her eyes hadn’t been red or puffy, the tears’ dried up rather quickly, and the inconsistent wails made it very likely she was only doing them for effect and sympathy.
That girl. Was lying!
That must’ve been it.
No way could she be telling the truth. And no way could ‘I saw her around me and Adrien’ be translated to ‘she threatened me, I’m so scared of her’
Maybe, maybe with that, there was hope.
If she could just simply convince her friends that she was lying, then everything would be all sorted.
And maybe she and Adrien-
Wait, she was getting a little ahead of herself there.
Wiping her tears away she proudly opened the door, ready to face her fears.
Too bad her fears were much much stronger.
No matter how many times she would try to prove her innocence, it became worse.
When she tried going to the teachers, they bat an eye with her responses. Obviously not taking her seriously, and just believing it to be some teenage drama, she was pushed out of the classroom and told to try and just be nicer and make friends with her.
That was harsh but expected.
She tried talking with Alya, she turned away from her. Not wanting to hear anything come out of a crazy stalkers mouth.
That had hurt.
She tried talking with any of her other friends, y’know, the ones who ‘always’ had her back.
They too turned from her. Believing Lila without a doubt, I mean, they knew how jealous Marinette could get, it wasn’t that much of a stretch to think she would jump to that, considering the situation.
That felt like a punch to her gut.
She tried talking with Adrien, even if she did stutter and always lose her words around him. But this was more important, than a silly crush.
.
She wasn’t used to saying that.
But, the way he looked at her, it felt like- pity.
He told her he already knew.
He already knew? Wait- then why didn’t he say anything?
Because, as the naïve little boy stood so tall and ‘innocent’ he simply wanted to help her through his own way.
“She was only lying for attention,” He said.
“Once she finally makes some real friends, she’ll stop,” He said!
“In the meantime, you should really drop this, it would be just awful if you were to hurt Lila again. After all, she hasn’t hurt anyone, she doesn’t mean any harm”
.
.
She stood in shock.
This was the boy she had fell for?
This spineless- foolish- Son of a-
“So please Marinette, don’t cause too many problems for her, you shouldn’t be so harsh on her. If you really value our friendship, you’ll do it.” He smiled before walking off, leaving her to her thoughts.
That felt like someone had walked over to her, ripped out her heart and squashed it in the palm of her hands, all while grinning.
Why, why wasn’t she able to see before? Did her heart want to deceive her by falsifying all of his qualities? Was she just blind to bear witness to him not being as perfect as she made him out to be? Was it because she just couldn’t entertain the thought of letting go?
She didn’t know, she just hated this negative feeling. It felt so familiar. She wanted it to go away.
Unfortunately, that feeling would only grow for months.
And it was about to be worse.
“Huh? Marinette? Why are you crying? If this is about what happened this morning, don’t worry, I’ll forgive you” She was crying? Huh, when did that happen?
Whatever, more importantly.
“W-What, no you don’t have to forgive me because I did nothing wrong” Lila’s worried expression faltered for a bit before she grew ‘scared’
“H-Hey, I didn’t realise you felt like that. Oh, you poor thing” Her eyebrow snapped, she seriously didn’t like being called a thing.
“Save it, I can’t prove it but I know you’re just lying to everyone here. And you need to stop, you’re going to hurt everyone when they find out. You need to confess” Her face faltered again, but it never recovered, her once innocent eyes hardened as she smirked, a look that seemed almost natural, as if she had perfected it by looking into a mirror countless times.
“Oh, so you’ve finally figured it out? Figures, I was told you were the smartest one, and it seems like I wasn’t wrong”
“What?” Lila sighed, maybe she had put too much faith in her being the smartest.
“Ugh, you’re so young Marinette. I haven’t told the truth all my life, why the hell should I start now?” Marinette was stunned, why, why was she telling her this?
“Honestly, and I thought Adrien was naïve. Look, I’m not here to play games, I have this whole routine wrapped up. So just sit back, stay out of my way and I might consider making another lie that would benefit you.” It was an offer any reasonable person wouldn’t refuse.
Unfortunately for her, she didn’t want a reasonable offer.
Marinette stared, she was- she was fully aware of what she was doing?
“B-But you’re going to end up hurting everyone, you need to stop, please!” She begged.
Lila frowned.
She was just like all the rest.
“I don’t care”
Huh?
“I said I don’t care, seriously don’t you get it yet? I’m here to win by all means necessary. You were in the way so I took you out. They are just little trophies to remind you of my victory. You had your chance”
She stood still, this situation felt so familiar, but she had to stay strong, she couldn’t give up now. If reasoning with her won’t work, then maybe understanding might, and she could work with that.
“Why are you doing this, do you really not care about when you get caught? About how everyone will feel when they know you promised nothing in the end?” She hoped she would see some sense. They were good people, they shouldn’t be manipulated into this, she was sure they would’ve been friends regardless of what she had promised.
“It’s because I can”
.
“What do you mean?”
“What I mean, dear sweet Marinette, is that because I am able to, I can. I’ve had years of practice with this, and the result always has me at the top, all that oppose me either stay at the bottom or beg for mercy from moi. It's always a delight to see their hope diminish. To realise they would do anything but to be alone.”
Alone- that word, that word stuck with her so much.
She didn’t want that- but she didn’t want her friends to be tricked either.
“Besides, you made it so easy for me, in reality. You only have yourself to blame”
“What- I didn’t even-” A finger was wagged in front of her face.
“Ah ah ah. You really should know better than that. A calendar full of Adrien’s schedule? A box full of presents for Adrien? Sabotaging dates? You’d think I’d have made it all up, it only made the end result so much greater. Seriously Marinette, I don’t even know if I’m the bad guy here, what you’ve done really isn’t appropriate behaviour. But I do know of a great therapist, they helped me through such a hard time” Lila continued to talk as Marinette zoned out. She was the bad guy? No- no that couldn’t be, that was just a harmless crush, that was just what normal teenaged girls did.
But- if it was. Then why didn’t anyone tell her it was wrong, she didn’t mean for it to be wrong. She just didn’t want them to leave, she just didn’t want to be abandoned again.
Why didn’t they say? Why didn’t she realise?
Why did she know?
Lila must’ve seen the shock as she giggled, not at all innocent.
“It was so easy manipulating all of them into telling me about this ‘crush’, once they realised just how crazy it actually was, they had no problem seeing you for the crazy stalker you are.” Lila flicked her hair up away, only for it to come back, but it didn’t matter, she made her point.
Not having the energy to look up, she would’ve noticed Lila had left her behind, laughing too, because no one had been there to overhear their absolutely private conversation. Her overall plan would not be undiscovered today, tomorrow, or the next. It wouldn’t be discovered ever.
Because she was in control.
Marinette, wasn’t in control.
Just like before, that hollow feeling from before, it was back.
And so much worse.
.
She hated Lila, because she made her realise, she was right. All along. And she just had to accept it.
And gave up trying.
She reverted back to how she was at the beginning of the year.
The quiet girl that no one paid attention to, alone, in the back, with nothing but her sketchbook.
Gone were the childish pigtails, it was for the better, no one said anything about then anymore.
Because she realised.
She wasn’t a child anymore.
She couldn’t be, not after this.
***
Hey, so I guess this was more like another prologue, so I’ll have to apologise if it seems just like the other one, but the premise is still the same so yeah.
And I think I might like the idea of a non-Miraculous world; it seems interesting since I feel like Marinette wouldn’t have as much of a confidence boost since she wouldn’t be Ladybug, please tell me that would make sense.
I think it’s interesting for how much would change and stay the same, and my OC will be making an entrance next time, however, here they are all like 13-14. The next chapter will have a time skip of 3 years, oh and Lila came in late, like around Season 3 late ok? So they already know about Kagami and Luka.
Also if you’re confused about anything feel free to ask any questions.
Cya next time.
Tumblr media
Note: Please tell me if I should add anything else to the card, there will be one of these cards for all 15 chapters, however, because I have uni work all updates will be slower because I really need to focus on the uni stuff, then I might be able to upload quicker.

Four Times Marinette teleported to where she would be safest, and the one time she was already there—Part Three
Okay, so, obviously being out of school didn’t help me finish this at all. I discovered recently that I have a phobia to plots which kept me from finishing this earlier. I had originally planned this series out to be one shots that sort of went together, with little plot besides the daminette aspect to it. This, however, is plot heavy. So. Much. Plot. SO many details to keep track of throughout each chapter… My anxiety said “How about no?” But! I am back! And more determined than ever to finish! Just two (I think?) more chapters after this one! And they’re mostly written already! Hooray! I hope you like it!
I think this may read a little clunky and seem to jump around a lot, but there is a reason for everything, I promise! A lot to unpack in this chapter. Lots of emotions to work through and decisions to be made.
Without further ado:
First - Last - AO3 - Next
A month passed since the start of Marinette having the Wayne’s on her side.
Three akumas passed with ease in the time, leading to their monitoring the situation, but not really needing to assist. Her parents were ecstatic that Marinette had an internship at such a prominent company and they noticed how much effort she put into everything she did. They had concerns about Marinette slipping in school or taking on too much like she had in the past, but after a long conversation about priorities and responsibilities, Marinette stepped down as class president and her parents decided to hire a temp so Marinette wouldn’t have to step in all the time.
She and her parents started having family nights every Sunday where they either bake, play video games, or watch movies. Their trust in Marinette was slowly starting to be restored, and Marinette loved being able to not lie outlandishly to her parents all the time. Even though she was still technically lying, Marinette felt better telling her parents she had internship stuff to do, and then following through.
The first few weeks were bumpy, jumping from disappearing during an akuma attack to going to her internship, but learning about business and how to market her brand… it was like being paid to do what she loved.
Along with getting used to her internship, Marinette also started feeling more comfortable leaning on the Wayne’s for support, whether it just be to talk or when she was struggling.
Like a few days ago when Lila had ruined Marinette’s newly made sundress by “accidentally” spilling paints all over Marinette’s desk. Lila had immediately started sobbing through an apology, trying to rub out the paints which only ruined the expensive, sensitive fabric more.
Marinette had broken down, knowing there wasn’t anything she could do for the fabric and ran home. Unluckily for her, the Wayne’s had been monitoring the school more closely and Tim had just happened upon the footage of Lila very purposefully grabbing a pallet of paint and “tripping” onto Marinette.
A video call from Dick and Tim calmed her down and gave her some advice about being more aware of her surroundings and how to take care of her things so that people don’t find them or get them away from her easily. Jason also had some choice words of advice about how to get out of fights even if she started one, making her laugh.
She had went back to school the next day with her head held high and ignored everyone’s attempts at justifying Lila’s behavior and villainizing Marinette’s. Marinette thought long and hard that day about her friends in the class, and, after Damian’s prompting, decided that “taking the high road” wasn’t in her best interest, no matter how selfish she felt putting herself before her friends and classmates.
Which lead her to where she was, pulling Adrien aside after class when she knew he had some free time and even looked grateful that she pulled him away from Lila.
“We need to talk,” was all she said, and he followed her all the way to the bakery and up to her room silently.
After they sat in silence for a moment, Marinette to gather her thoughts and Adrien to admire her new setup—She had taken all of his photos and other crush memorabilia she had out, and painted her room a lavender color with white and gold accents. More sophisticated and mature, Damian had said with what she would take as pride after she facetimed him the first time since she redid it.—Marinette turned towards Adrien and tried to prepare herself for whatever outcome could come her way.
Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst.
“Adrien, I need to tell you something, and I need you to let me talk until I’m done.” At his concerning frown and hesitant nod, Marinette straightened up and looked him right in the eyes, trying to channel the Wayne’s confidence and all the advice they had given her up until that point. “I won’t stay silent about Lila anymore. You said that what she’s doing isn’t hurting anyone, but you’re wrong. As you friend, I was hoping you would give me the chance to prove it to you. Otherwise…” Marinette swallowed, and clenched her fists. “Otherwise, I don’t think I can be friends with you or the rest of the class anymore.”
The alarm and hurt on Adrien’s face both wounded and relieved her. At least he genuinely cared for her. She wasn’t really sure about any of her friends in the class anymore.
“Marinette-” he cut himself off and took a shaky breath. “I’ll listen. Of course I’ll listen to you, Marinette. I… You were one of the first friends I made here… I don’t want to lose you over her.” His voice was so soft and emotional, and Marinette grabbed his hands in hers and pulled him closer to her.
“I’m sorry to make such an ultimatum. You know I’d never do anything to hurt you, right?” He nodded instantly and Marinette sighed. And then she told him everything. How Lila’s lies to their classmates could hurt them in the long run, how she keeps purposefully causing akuma attacks, and, finally, how Lila was obviously attacking both Adrien and Marinette.
“She’s bullying me, Adrien, and she’s harassing you,” Marinette said bluntly, if a little stern. If she was channeling Damian a bit there, no one else needed to know except for Tikki who was bursting with pride at her Lady Guardian. “I understand that you were homeschooled and that your father is really strict, but this can’t keep going on. The people around you who truly love and care about you should never stand by when you’re obviously getting uncomfortable or hurt.” Adrien was pale, and he looked as stricken as she felt, but she powered on.
“Badmouthing me to everyone who will listen, where I can hear her while she knows I promised you I wouldn’t do anything about it… she’s been hurting me since she threatened me when she first got here and I tried to expose her. I won’t let her hurt you or me anymore. Have you ever wanted her by your side? Hugging you? Trying to convince the class that you should be dating? Coupling up with you at every chance?” Marinette tried not to cringe at how she could relate to some of the words she was spouting. Between her, Lila, and Chloe, there was a good chance Adrien would never know what proper courting and dating behavior should be if she didn’t get through to him. “If she wasn’t working for your father, if she wasn’t lying about everything convincingly, she would’ve been removed from our class, maybe even our school, by now. No one would put up with her and they would be supporting us more. Now, it’s more complicated, because the class truly believes her every word, and we’ve been too complicit, but I would rather stand against her and take whatever consequences come with that than stand aside and let the people that I once cared about and called my friends be used and abused by a faker. I need to look out for myself from now on. I feel selfish, but I can’t keep babysitting the entire class to make sure Lila’s lies don’t hurt them permanently and stay sane. It’s part of the reason I stepped down as class president, and part of the reason I can’t keep staying friends with people who won’t have my back when I need them.”
Marinette tried to calm her breathing and watched Adrien’s face wearily for any signs that he would brush her aside or take Lila’s side. She didn’t want to lose him, didn’t want to lose any of them, but she wouldn’t keep drowning herself to make sure everyone else stayed afloat.
“…I… I am so sorry, Marinette,” he finally said, pulling her into a surprise hug. She could hear the thickness in his voice and felt her eyes fill with tears in response as she held him tightly. “I never thought that… No, I knew that what Lila was doing was wrong, but I thought everything would work itself out.” Adrien pulled away from their hug, but kept her hands in his, giving them a squeeze and a wobbly smile. “My father wants me to keep Lila happy… but I’m not happy anymore,” he admitted, avoiding her eyes, where she had begun to cry in earnest. “I haven’t been for a long time. What you’re saying now… I know it’s true. I’ve thought it before, but I just wanted everything to go back to the way it was before. Even though I wasn’t willing to put in the effort to get there. I let Lila hurt you and your reputation—your entire relationship with the rest of the class—just to make my father happy, even though he’s allowed Lila to—to harass me like you said. I think you’re right. Maybe it’s time we be more selfish.”
Marinette pulled him into a hug again and they cried together until Nathalie called demanding that he come home for practice. Adrien and Marinette were pilled on her bed, watching a movie and Adrien gave her a mischievous grin.
“Maybe being more selfish can start with staying with you a little while longer?” He asked gingerly and Marinette smiled at him.
“Maybe we can start with you staying the night. You ever had a sleepover before?” Adrien shut off his phone excitedly and threw it across the room.
“You have to teach me everything about sleepovers!”
~
Having Adrian by her side was something Marinette never really knew she needed in her life. She always wanted him by her side, but not like this. Not like she truly needed him. Not like how he needed her. And no matter what thirteen year old Marinette might’ve thought, Marinette wouldn’t trade the love and friendship she had with Adrien for anything else, and she really believed that she would never have to.
They didn’t do much anything differently in class, though Nino and Lila seemed to know something had changed between them. Maybe it was how they seemed to both disappear together after school all the time, ignoring invites to after class activities… Or maybe it was how one of them would sneakily intervene whenever Lila would corner the other. The rest of the class didn’t want to cause a fuss, so they turned away whenever the three of them would get into it, which Marinette actually appreciated.
She could fight her own battles now, and so could Adrien as he became more and more outspoken towards Lila’s drama, but fighting the people she once cherished as her closest friends… it was something that she was most afraid of.
Almost a week of no akuma attacks and peace throughout Paris led to Ladybug taking to the rooftops. The sky was clear and the stars seemed to glow as bright as the lights on the Eiffel Tower, and Marinette was able to actually look around and appreciate her surrounding for the first time in a long time. The way the Seine glowed at night; the people milling around the streets; the sounds of music drifting through the light wind kissing her cheeks. Marinette felt… bright. Her heart was light and she would bet the world that her soul was taking on a pinkish hue, beating with her heart in time to the sweet piano still playing somewhere.
She ended up, as always, at the top of the Tower, looking out over her city. Seeing her school, her parents’ bakery, Andre’s ice cream stall… it had been a long time since she could look at these places and the first thought of them be ‘home.’ She closed her eyes and let herself get lost in the music once more.
A noise came from behind her, though she didn’t bother moving from her spot. She had taken to lying down, her legs swinging over the edge of the platform, staring at the sky.
“…My Lady?” Chat’s soft voice drifted around her and she smiled at him upside down. His soul seemed to be lighter than it had been and Marinette couldn’t help but smile at the soothing dance their souls took on as they slowly intertwined with each other.
“Hi, Chaton. Wanna come look at the stars with me?” She asked, returning her gaze to the night sky.
“Oh, um… of course, My Lady.” Chat walked over to her and sat down, though he didn’t lie next to her. Something was obviously on his mind, but Marinette didn’t ask. She would wait for him to speak, if he wanted to. And if he didn’t want to talk, they could gaze at the stars together and she would let him know she’s there for him.
After a little while, the piano stopped playing. The wind died down and there was less chatter on the streets. Marinette took a breath and sat up, pulling herself around to look at her partner. He was lost in thought, gazing out at their city.
“Chaton…” Marinette started, gazing at him warmly. She had thought about this a lot over the past month, and Tikki and the Waynes seemed to think it would be in their best interest, but there was still something holding her back.
“Ladybug,” Chat said, turning to her and the look in his eyes was determined, and Marinette was hit with a wave of unease, though she cursed herself for it. Chaton meant well, and he was her partner. She shouldn’t feel so uneasy around him just because she knew he had feelings for her. “Ladybug, I need to say something to you and I need you to listen to me, and I need you to listen until I’m done. Please. I—I need to apologize to you.”
Marinette froze. “…What?” She breathed out, confused and dazed and… hopeful? She shook her head. She would unpack all of those emotions later. “Whatever for, Chaton?”
Chat Noir straightened up, took a breath, and look her right in the eyes. She saw it then. The sadness, the fear, and the resolution there.
“A good friend of mine recently showed me signs of… harassment. Before, I just thought… I thought everything was fine no matter how uncomfortable I was… How upset I was the longer it went on and when my friend helped me out… I realized I acted the same way with you. You kept telling me over and over again that you didn’t want to reveal our identities. You told me over and over how you didn’t love me back, but I kept pestering you about my feelings and what I wanted. I—I’m so sorry, My Lady. I never should have ignored what you said about how you felt, or got upset when you told me the truth. I’ve realized that… The truth, no matter how upsetting, is always better than lying, and you’ve never lied to me, My Lady. I hope you can forgive me for pressuring you so much. I swear I’ll be better from now on and be the partner you deserve… if you still want me to be.”
Marinette felt frozen. There was no way… Was he really…? Marinette shook herself and sucked in a breath at sudden wobbling of her Chaton’s lips the longer her silence went on.
“Oh, Chaton,” she cried out, pulling him into a hug and holding on as tight as she could as his shoulders shook. “Of course I forgive you. You’re my partner, Chat. No one can replace you. Thank you for apologizing. I… We’ve been through a lot and… I’m not going to say it’s okay, making me uncomfortable and not listening to me, but I do believe you. I know how it feels to want to be with someone and everything else falls away. I’d be a hypocrite if I didn’t forgive you.”
After a few moments of holding on tight, Chat pulled away and looked her in the eyes. “Thank you, My Lady.”
Marinette knew right then. She knew deep in her soul that she wanted her Chaton to know who she was out of the mask. She knew she could count on him and trust him, and she knew that he felt the same. Their souls swirled together like a storm and she rested her head against his.
“I do love you, Chaton.” She watched as his tearful smile and sweet green eyes met hers warmly.
“I love you too, My Lady.”
~
With Adrien by her side during school, Chaton by her side during akuma attacks, and the Wayne’s with her every day, Marinette knew she was stronger than ever before. Her heart, mind, and soul were finally at peace, and working together versus being constantly at war was liberating. No matter what Lila did, Marinette honestly couldn’t be bothered anymore. She still called Lila out for lying and harassing Adrien, but she could no longer care about the rest of the class’s reaction or Lila starting something every day. Marinette learned how to walk away when the fight wasn’t worth her time.
If a certain green eyed, aloof Wayne came to her mind more and more often as she chose her battles, bringing her a type of strength she never knew she could have… well, no one needed to know that.
Adrien knew about the Wayne’s and they were aware of him, but both parties didn’t seem interested in knowing more about the other as long as they both supported Marinette. Chaton also knew Ladybug had been in contact with The Batman and his team, leading to an amusing freak out session when she announced that they’d be in contact with them in the next akuma attack.
Except it didn’t quite go as well as Marinette was hoping.
It wasn’t easy focusing on the akuma in front of her while forming her own plan and listening to Tim, Damian, Alfred, and Bruce making comments and giving their own opinions on the fight in her ear.
They just barely manage to defeat the akuma, and Marinette heard hers and Chat’s miraculous timer beep their third warning.
“My Lady?” Chat mumbled, keeping one hand on his side and Marinette tried to keep her balance with Chat’s added weight on her bruised ribs. The timing of her Miraculous Ladybug and a sudden explosion… was unfortunate, leading her and Chat trying to protect the nearby civilians and damn near getting blown up if she hadn’t pulled a car in front of them at the last second.
Yay for not getting blown up, but still ouch for being squished between a wall and the car.
Lady Luck didn’t seem to be on her side still as more civilians took to the street, demanding to know why Ladybug’s magic didn’t protect them from the bomb. How could their heroes not stop the bomb from going off sooner? Why were they running away instead of cleaning up the mess they made?
Marinette tripped as the fourth beep sounded off, and she barely managed to prevent herself and Chat from collapsing to the ground. There were still people close by and they would surely notice the appearance of two injured teens in place of their missing heroes.
Marinette couldn’t focus. Her hear hurt so bad, and the static in her ear from the earpiece that cut out with the explosion was deafening and she was getting dizzy and Chat was getting heavier and the voices were getting louder—
The sudden appearance of a red portal was all she saw before she gripped Chat tight and jumped just as the final beep of their Miraculous sounded off.
~
Marinette and Chat dropped onto the soft mattress of a bed right as their transformations wore off. Marinette, who landed on top of Chat and kept her face hidden in his shoulder, clutched him tightly to her.
“Um, My Lady?” Chat asked, holding her close and Marinette just knew he kept his eyes closed ever since they transformed, and she felt her dusty rose colored soul warm while it swirled with his minty green. “Did we just go through a portal?”
“…maybe,” she answered, not lifting her head just yet. She knew that if she asked, Chat would look away from her and allow her to mask them both again before he betrayed her trust, and Marinette considered her options.
“You don’t seem too overly concerned about this,” he said, shifting their weight to a more comfortable position. Her side twinged and she knew he must still be hurting as well.
“It might have happened to me once or twice before…” Chat barked out a laugh and Marinette felt her soul shift with his as she made her decision.
“Of course it did, My Lady,” he said softy—fondly. “So… where are we, exactly? Your house? I’ll keep my eyes closed if you want to go into another room. Plagg and I can be out of here as soon as he’s recharged.”
Marinette took a deep, steadying breath before pulling away from Chat without looking at him and sitting up. They sat back to back on the bed, heads tilted together and Marinette knew for sure. She looked over, finding Tikki and Plagg looking seconds away from passing out on the futon. Marinette gave them both a meaningful look and Tikki nodded her head in understanding while Plagg looked surprised. It was time.
“This isn’t my house, actually, and it’s a little hard to explain.”
“I get it, my lady! Secret identities are important and Master Fu made the rule for a reason. I respect your decision to keep your identity safe, as well as mine.” He sounded so… proud as he announced the words and Marinette wanted for the hesitation. Waited for the anxiety and the fear… but it never came. She just felt… happy. Excited even. Yes, this was right.
“…And if I said I changed my mind?”
Chat’s pause made her smile as she felt him straighten behind her.
“…you can do that?”
“Well, I am Guardian now… I’ve been thinking a lot about our team, Chat, and while I believe Master Fu’s intentions were good and his rules were necessary for the time, he’s gone now and I’m the Guardian. Things are different, and I trust you,” Marinette grabbed his hand and heard his breath catch.
“My lady, are you sure?” He asked vehemently, and she felt her eyes sting. Kwami, she loved him. Loved him with her whole heart and soul.
“Yes, chaton. I’m sure. I want us to be able to support each other completely. How can we truly be partners if we don’t know each other? I was scared for a long time, but I’m not scared anymore. I trust you, Chaton, and I love you.”
“…Alright, My Lady. I trust you and I love you. I’ve never regretted taking your lead, and I will follow you to the end.”
“Together?” Marinette asked, pulling her hand away and standing. She heard her Chaton do the same and took a breath. She had never felt this exposed… this seen and he hadn’t even looked at her yet.
“Together.”
They turned around. Blue met green and Marinette let out a laugh. A laugh of pure disbelief and joy that she couldn’t stop if she wanted to. Adrien smiled fondly at her while she giggled and walked around the bed to her.
He grabbed onto her hands tightly and brought them up to his lips. They were both crying now, tears slipped from the corners of their eyes and met at the curves of their lips that were wearing matching smiles.
“My Lady… I wish I could say I was surprised… but it’s always been you, hasn’t it?” He said, not letting go of her hands as they gazed at each other.
“It’s always been us, Chaton,” she corrected, and she pulled him to her and held on tight. “It will always be us.” Marinette knew a year ago she would’ve thought their embrace was romantic—knew that anyone could walk through the door and think they were a couple, embarrassingly enough—but she knew they were on the same page. Knew that when they met eyes unmasked that first time, it felt like coming home. The Lucky Ladybug and her Black Cat would always find home in each other, and she would never let him go.
~
Marinette waited until Adrien was asleep as comfortably as he could be while still injured with Tikki and Plagg watching over him before heading out the door. Unfortunately, she didn’t remember where she was in the Manor or how to get to the Batcave from where she was, and she didn’t have either of her phones on her since the akuma attack caught them off guard during school. Her ribs ached with every step she took, but it wasn’t bad enough to make her stop.
They were probably worried since her comms cut out after the explosion, but surely they would see the news where she and Chat—Adrien—disappeared. She vaguely recalled hearing Damian shout her name when the explosion occurred and felt her chest warm, though she decided to ignore it.
She tried the door next to hers, but it was locked, which seemed to be the trend down the hall as she tried each one. At the end of the hall, there was what looked like a servants staircase and she decided if the Batcave were anywhere, it’d be as far down as she could go.
Except her hand didn’t even meet the door knob when someone’s hand gripped her shoulder tightly and pushed her up against the wall. Marinette’s right arm was pinned behind her back, but her left arm was free, so she got her palm flat against the wall and prepared herself despite the throbbing in her side and head at the sudden attack.
“Who the hell are you?” A female voice snarled at her, and Marinette pushed against the wall, kicking off of it and coming up behind her attacker, moving her arm so that it wouldn’t come out twisted and wrapping it around the girl’s throat.
“Who are you?” Marinette yelled back, not letting up even as the woman elbowed her in her bruised side.
The woman seemed to freeze at Marinette’s words and dropped her guard enough that Marinette pushed to woman to the ground and flung herself towards the stairs as she heard the scrambling sound of her attacker coming after her.
She managed to race down the stairs just as she noticed a door at the bottom that was conveniently opening as she met the last step.
Her attacker reached the top of the stairs just as Marinette got to the door and hoped the person behind it didn’t see or hear her coming. Whoever opened the door was looking behind him and talking with someone. His mistake. Marinette didn’t recognize him either so she bolted down the last few stairs, not bothering with being stealthy, and launched her feet at the person who had just started to turn around at the noise. She hit him square in the right side with both of her feet and caught herself from falling with him by gripping the doorframe and launching herself over his falling body.
It wouldn’t be enough to knock him out, but it would slow him down enough that she could attempt to find the Wayne’s or get away to call for help. There were two women standing in the hall who turned at the noise, but Marinette saw them before they saw her and grabbed the rug as she ran along the hall, making them lose their balance and trip over each other in surprise. For good measure, Marinette flung the heavy rug over the two of them without stopping.
“Hey!” and “What the fuck,” came from behind her, but she just hoped they would be tripping over each other for another minute or so while she fled.
Marinette rounded a corner and ran straight into someone else, who grabbed her arms to prevent them both from falling. Marinette didn’t even look him in the face before she flipped his arms around so she had hold of him and dropped backwards, using her legs to fling him over her head and onto his back with an audible “oof” while she rolled from her back onto her feet.
She continued into a foyer where her exit laid. A large set of wooden double doors offset by beautiful ceiling high windows. Marinette dashed to the doors and pulled them open with ease despite their size. She took a single step outside when she heard people behind her.
“Marinette!” She skidded to a halt and turned, panting hard and finding Damian, Alfred, and Bruce Wayne coming from the stairs above her. To her left, Dick and Jason rounded the corner with concerned looks on their faces, and to the right, the group of people she got passed in the hall came through just as Damian and the others reached the bottom of the stairs.
“Who in the hell is the girl who used a rug like a fucking cartoon character?” One of the young women in the room asked. She had shoulder blonde hair and piercing blue eyes.
“Tripped you up, didn’t it?” Marinette shot back, still feeling vulnerable and uncertain about the group of people in the room. This was her safe place… but not at the same time. The safe place she came to before was with a few of the men she knew whose souls resonated with her. These people were a mix of different souls and emotions, and some of them obviously didn’t know who she was and mostly likely also didn’t know about her identity.
“Why were you running through the house like a madwoman anyways? Don’t you recognize me, Ladynette? I’m hurt,” one of the men said, pouting at her. Tim. She had just thrown him onto his back.
“Oh no, Tim, I’m so sorry, I just reacted on instinct when I ran into you. Um…” Marinette shifted on her feet and look wearily at Bruce. “I was teleported back here after the akuma fight with my partner, Chat Noir. We ended up in the room I used last time I was here and I thought it would be best to come find someone since I didn’t have my phones on me when someone attacked me in the hall.” She shot the dark haired woman a look as Alfred came behind her to close the front door.
“When a strange girl appears in my family’s home, I don’t ask questions first, little girl. What’s your excuse?”
“When someone attacks me while injured, I don’t ask questions either, and I certainly don’t sit there answering all their questions while they have me pinned to a wall.”
Damian was at her side in the next moment, tugging on her elbow and looking her over, catching her attention. Jason also sided up to her, throwing an arm over her shoulders and making a face at Damian. Bruce and Dick were shouldering the other girl in between them as well.
“Alright,” Bruce said, “that’s enough. Introductions should be in order now, I believe. Marinette, this is Cass. Cass, this is Marinette, our sporadic guest we discussed.” Cass didn’t reveal much on her face, but the tightening of her lips and the slight twitch of her eye told Marinette enough as Dick nudged her with his elbow. Cass didn’t move, and Bruce looked at her disapprovingly, opening his mouth to say something.
Marinette sighed before marching up to Cass before he could, feeling drained from the sudden burst of adrenaline and feeling the throbbing in her head and side return with a vengeance. “I’m sorry we got off on the wrong foot. You were just trying to protect your home and family from a stranger. I was still… defensive when you grabbed me. I should’ve known better than to think someone random would get into this house.” She tried for a smile, but it came out as a grimace as she adjusted her footing to ease her side.
Cass narrowed her eyes before relaxing and nodding once. “I apologize as well. Your maneuvering while in your state was impressive.”
Jason snorted behind her and threw an arm around Marientte’s shoulders again, causing her to suck in a breath at the jostling.
“Shit,” he said, immediately pulling away but keeping her steady, “sorry, little lady. Let’s get you looked at.”
Alfred was looking over her bruised side as she laid on a plush couch when Tim, Jason, and Damian came into the room.
“Bruce is speaking with the rest of the family now. They had been told about you before, but I don’t think they really expected you to just show up out of nowhere,” Tim explained while they circled around her. Instead of feeling surrounded in such a vulnerable situation— injured and with her shirt off—Marinette felt safe with them all around her. She shivered at the cold patch Alfred applied to her side.
“You have some bruising, but nothing appears to be broken, My Lady Guardian. How’s your head?” Alfred asked, helping her sit up.
“Better now,” she answered honestly. Whatever Alfred had given her eased the pain while allowing her to remain focused. “I’m not hurt anywhere else. The Ladybug Cure healed everything from the akuma attack. The explosion is what got my side and head.”
“We saw,” Damian said briskly where he stood to her side with his arms crossed. “The news caught what happened when your comms went out. Do you know where the explosion came from?”
Marinette shook her head slowly, not wanting to cause the throbbing to come back. “Someone started screaming about a bomb and Chat and I tried getting the area clear as quickly as we could. We were still too close once the crowd cleared so I pulled a nearby car over for protection which blew us back, but kept us safe at least. He’s upstairs still, sleeping now. I think his leg is hurt, and maybe his head, but he seemed to be as good as me when I left.”
“Your partner is ok with being here?” Jason asked, sitting next to her and helping Alfred pull her shirt back over her head without stretching her side.
“…I haven’t told him where we are yet. Though I did reveal my identity, which went… better than I thought it would.” Marinette couldn’t help but smile and rested her head against the back of the couch.
“I’ll take you back to your room,” Damian suddenly announced, stalked out of the room before Marinette had even processed his words.
She missed the Look Alfred, Tim, and Jason shared over her head as she stood slowly.
“Um, I’ve been meaning to ask… About Chat Noir…” She looked uncomfortably away from their warm gazes. “I can have us teleport back to Paris as soon as our kwamis are recharged, and I take a look at Chat’s leg.”
Jason rubbed her head and gave her a smile. “We already discussed what would happen if your partner were to ever stop by, little lady. If you want to tell him where he is and who we are, we don’t mind. You’re a team and we wouldn’t ask you to keep our secret from him. Not if we want to keep working together in the future.”
Marinette felt her eyes sting again and she nodded shyly, unable to properly thank them through the lump in her throat.
Alfred passed along the first aid kit he was using to Marinette and patted her cheek.
“Go look after you partner, My Lady Guardian,” he said, “I’ll bring up some food for all of you in a little while.”
~
Marinette and Damian didn’t speak for a while as he led her to the room she was in. The made it all the way to the foyer before he slowed just enough that she was nearly walking by his side.
“Your attempt at escaping was admirable, but you should have been more forceful if you thought you were in a potentially dangerous situation,” Damian said as they walked. Being so close to him as she trailed after him once again was distracting to her. Why was his soul so… loud to her? “What did you think?” He continued, not bothering to turn around to see her reaction. “That they broke in? Rendering a potential enemy unconscious would be far more effective in a getaway than tripping them or knocking them down.”
His tone was cold. He sounded harsh, but Marinette could sense that he was trying to get a point across without saying it. He obviously knew what he was talking about, and he wasn’t one to sugar coat things. She could respect that.
She hummed in agreement and felt his soul flicker for some reason. “You’re right,” Marinette said and Damian turned his head at her. She caught a glimpse of surprise in his eyes before he jerked his head around again. “I was so concerned about just getting out of the house that I didn’t think ahead. If this was a different situation, I would have gotten caught just outside.”
“…Correct. And you don’t know where we are, do you? An unfamiliar territory could hurt you more than waiting to take stock of where you are or who has you.” They started up the stairs, going at a much slowly pace thanks to her ribs.
Marinette sighed. “Guess I should add ‘What to do in a kidnapping situation’ to my research list right under ‘What to do in a bombing.’” She swore she saw Damian’s lips curl as he glanced at her once again before continuing ahead.
“I’m surprised your instincts proved resourceful enough to allow you to get passed four well trained individuals after a draining attack and while still injured.”
“‘A Guardian must trust her instincts above all else to protect the vulnerable and stay one step ahead of her enemies,” Marinette recited proudly, bursting with the unspoken praise in Damian’s words.
Damian paused at a door at the end of the hall and Marinette tilted her head at him.
“Everyone will be waiting in the dining room for you both if you decide to stay. It’s been a while since everyone’s been together for dinner, so Father and Alfred are making a big deal out of it. You and your… partner are welcome to join us. I trust you’ll be able to find your way back to the foyer from here?”
Marinette hummed and smiled at him, feeling her soul swirl happily with his. Something about his eyes… she could get lost in them easily if she let herself, but she wasn’t going to go down that road. Not again.
He opened his mouth to say something when a thump came from the room that drew their attention.
“Perhaps I’ll see you, then,” he said briskly as he turned away.
“Thank you for your advice,” she called after him softly, hand on the door to her room. “I really appreciate it.” She entered the room with a smile that grew at the sight of Adrien on the ground while Tikki and Plagg snuggled together on the bed.
“Little help here, My Lady?” Adrien asked when he saw her in the open doorway.
“Of course, Chaton,” she giggled, letting the door close behind her, missing the way Damian had paused by the door to the stairwell, rubbing at his chest as if that would stop his heart from beating out of it.

Hehehe, this chapter was soooooo fun to write, but it had soooooo much content in it and I kept having to go back and forth between chapters to make sure I was presenting the right information and emotions accurately. Also, what the hell is with the Wayne’s eyes?? I kept having to look it up and came up with different examples of whether Damian’s and Jason’s eyes were blue or green, so I just settled on them both being green because of the Lazarus Pits (ignoring Bruce’s dealings with it completely because why not? So Bruce’s and the other boys’ eyes are blue.)
What to look forward to in the next part: More interactions with the rest of the Batfahm and the rest of the class, and a look into Marinette’s internship as well as Adrien’s sudden burst of rebellion getting much, much worse. Hope you like it! Comments are always welcome!

Shut Your Mouth
Small daminette one-shot, aged up characters. Close to Robin V’’s retirement, close to Hawkmoth’s defeat.
Word count: 1350
Enjoy!
----
Robin irately observed the spotted hero sitting on top of the stairs leading to the second floor. She seemed to like high places, he noted to himself. She was currently using her yoyo’s compact form, tapping and scrolling through something.
The hero in question had been Ladybug, Scarlet Luck of the city of Paris. She’d come all the way from the JLE headquarters to the JLA ground site to receive tutelage under Batman and Red Robin themselves. That meant she wasn’t hopeless at least, but he didn’t see that as an accomplishment.
However, he could admit that she was a competent hero and good at what she did. He wouldn’t tolerate a daytime hero otherwise. She was good at improvisation and quick-witted, well organized and well spoken. She was decisive and leveraged herself as a pillar of strength and support for the citizens of Paris, her team included.
In that way, Robin and Ladybug had quietly bonded, being leaders of their own team and often sitting in silence together as they worked on their own tasks. It was neither amicable nor awkward, at least now and for the time being, merely productive.
And regardless of what Grayson said, he did not like her. At all. In fact, there were a number of things he detested in regards to her character.
First, there was her lack of confidence. While her image as the certain and sure-footed Ladybug was maintained by the lack of media coverage and professional conduct, she was more unsure of herself than not despite her blatant skills, effectively crippling her investigation into Hawkmoth’s identity, the most crucial aspect of her job.
The moment someone’s opinion differed from her own she would second guess her decisions, wasting time and brain cells on a different perspective when all she needed were the facts and her own conviction.
Next, was her inane denial. She constantly proclaimed that Chat Noir was her partner, but where she saw an equal, the rest of the world saw ‘sidekick’. Granted, the cat hero could perform well, he wouldn’t still be here if he couldn’t, but he clearly did not contribute as much as he should be.
The one left to do all the planning, coming up with strategy after strategy, as well as resuscitating the dead, dying, and brainwashed, was Ladybug. He was a sidekick who needed to stop being coddled so that he could reach his full potential.
Lastly, was her leadership role. It was solid and her team didn’t question her judgement, he would give her that, but her team members weren’t solid enough to be relied upon. Chat was a one trick pony, more often a hindrance than not, Queen Bee had ultimately ruined any chance of wielding a miraculous again, Ryuko didn’t follow orders, Carapace was overtly prioritizing Rena Rouge over the rest of the team and Rena Rouge was recklessly endangering herself and others by either giving away her position, or clinging so close to the other heroes that she was a direct inconvenience.
And don’t even get him started  on Viperion. One of Ladybug’s few competent allies and he retires?! For what reason, when he’s only participated in less than ten skirmishes, the lout. She needed to establish more than the ground rules, she needed to make clear expectations.
So, no. He did not like Ladybug. He didn’t hate her either. She did her job, worked with what she had, and left him to his own devices whenever they’d interact.
Except for now. Sort of.
Technically she hadn’t said anything, but every now and then she would glance up from her compact and thoughtfully observe his tight expression.
“Speak up or stop gawking,” he finally snapped. Ladybug’s thoughtful gaze quickly glimmered into something else, but it was gone before he could identify it.
“Trouble in Jump?” Robin didn’t care for being figured out so easily.
“Jump is none of your concern.”
She tilted her head. “No, but it is yours’s. Tell me about it?”
He just glared darkly, and she raised her hands in surrender.
“Okay, I get it. I wasn’t asking to be nosy or anything, you just seem less stoic than usual, like you’re upset or angry, so I wanted to offer an ear,” she waved her hands, a foolish tell she needed to correct.
“Upset? Angry?!” He leaped up to pace around the room, cape swirling being him.
“I’m neither of those paltry emotions, angry and upset cannot begin to communicate sheer fury that boils in me!” His cadence was fast and biting.
“How much more will I have to fight to keep my position as leader of the Titans?! Have I not proven myself time and again to be trustworthy, yet my efforts are only met with scrutiny and skepticism as though I’m still that same child from all those years ago,” he dragged a hand through his hair without dislodging his hood.
“What more do they want from me, what more could I possibly give them to prove myself, how--how do I…” he trailed off from his rant, mutely horrified.
“...Robin?” Ladybug hesitantly called. “Um--?!” He rushed to stand above her on the steps.
“You will speak of this to no one.” He threatened. Her worried expression quickly flipped to that of annoyance.
“Yeah, I gathered,” She scoffed sarcastically and stood on a higher step, looking down at him.
He gritted his teeth. “You want something, so name it.”
“Pardon?”
“You wouldn’t offer something without knowing you’d receive benefits, so let’s just get this--”
“Oh Mon Dieu!” she groaned under her palm. “I’m not blackmailing you, moron. I--”
“Who are you calling moron?!” he growled.
“Just look up, damn it!” she snapped. He brashly tilted his head up.
“What--!” could looking up tell me about this situation, is what he would’ve said, but the world just…
It was as if time slowed to a crawl. Every nerve ending, each skin cell gained a hyper awareness rare outside of combat.
What…
He could feel hot, gentle puffs of air on his right cheek. Heat was effusing through his body, soft and tender. Ladybug was closer than she’d ever been, close enough to see the detailed fibers of her mask. Ladybug was close because Ladybug was kissing him.
Why was she…? Robin couldn’t think, everything was focused on Ladybug. She pressed down and his head further tilted, accommodating her completely. Her lips were warm, sliding against his silkily, parting to slip her tongue into his mouth. The air got hotter.
Why am I…? Her tongue was slowly and possessively wrapping around his. He still couldn’t think. Then, it was over all too soon.
Ladybug pulled away with a quiet noise and he leaned into her space, eyes belatedly flickering open. When had he closed them?
“...” Robin gazed up, stunned.
“That’s...not why I offered, but I got lost in the moment,” Her blue eyes were steel, unyielding. Unapologetic. Strength left his limbs, the only reason he was still standing was because of sheer pride and willpower.
“...”
“Robin, I offered because it looked like you wanted to shut yourself away. I know what that looks like, from others as well as myself. It’s not a good mindset to be in, and I wouldn’t let you sink to that without at least trying to talk to you.” She bit her lip and he locked onto the motion behind his mask, frozen stiff.
“I...I don’t know what to say and I don’t know how to help, but I do know that I can at least listen to you so you can know that you’re heard. That you’re being understood.” She brought up her compact and input some command and his utility belt beeped.
“I just sent you my contact information. Call me whenever, for whatever.” She clasped her hand on his shoulder as she descended the stairwell.
“I gotta go deal with an akuma. See you later, yeah?”
“....”
Just like that, Robin was left alone in the break lounge, halfway up the staircase and gaping up at the ceiling like a complete imbecile. Red, weak-kneed, and utterly stupefied.
What…?

The end. Now validate me.

Note: This is literally just crack. That’s all it is.
So I was binging Try Guys videos when I suddenly remembered @kceedraws “Youtubers AU” (link here) where the Waynes have a YouTube channel and start making comedy videos like the Try Guys. And that’s when I had a thought...what if instead of them making videos like the Try Guys, they made videos with the Try Guys?
Okay, hear me out.
The Batfam is already a mess on its own; so are the Try Guys. Put those two together? Imagine all the wacky hijinks they would get into! The world would devolve into complete and utter chaos.
It’d still be Daminette (or maybe Timari, but I feel like Daminette would be more chaotic in this situation). Or if she’s not dating one of the Batboys, it could always be Bio!dad Bruce. Either way, Marinette would be just over 18 and already out as MDC. She’s basically Paris’ sweetheart.
Eugene and Jason might be similar, but have you imagined the absolute terror that is Marinette and Eugene? I mean, they’re both fashionable Asians who are somehow good at everything without trying. That duo could take over the world if they wanted to.
Also, we all know Eugene’s soft spot for kids, and even though Marinette isn’t technically one, she’s innocent enough to qualify. Sorta. Everyone thinks he’s corrupting her when she starts being innocently smug and increasingly Slytherin-like.
Oh yeah, did I mention Marinette is totally a Slytherin? Also, I know a lot of people HC her as LGBTQ+ so she could relate to Eugene in that way. And they could probably talk about their culture (or in Marinette’s case, how she feels about not knowing anything about it).
We all know Marinette and Jason are the ultimate duo, and since him and Eugene are so similar it’d be like,,, a competition of brothers.
The Waynes and the Try Guys would probably meet/collab right when the former are starting to dip their toes into comedy
They’d likely recreate the “Baking Bread Without a Recipe” video but with pairs. Marinette would judge and Eugene and Jason would team up. They’d add even more beer than Eugene did the first time but it’d somehow turn out good, mostly because Jason would know what to do based on all the times him and Marinette have baked together.
And like in the original AU, it’d be Dick and Keith, Damian and Ned, & Tim and Zach. I highly doubt there wouldn’t be at least some kind of fight that involves flour-throwing. Or in Damian’s case, bread knives.
Swearing galore
They’d def do the “insert squad name here Chooses My Outfits for a Week” video
Maybe they’d have a dance-off... or a sing-off... but the advantage would go to the Batfam
Videos of them doing embarrassing things at drive-thrus—especially Stephanie for some reason
And yea that’s all I got for now
Don’t ask me what this AU is supposed to be because even I don’t know at this point
