They’d been waiting for news for so long. Wilbur tried not to think about it.

The last time he saw Techno, they’d been at each other’s throats. Most people wouldn’t dare spit words at an angry Hokdian, but Wilbur wasn’t most people. He had rank and he wasn’t afraid to pull it—not that he would, not on his second-in-command. But they fought. Bitterly, roughly, like two children who didn’t know any damn better. Wilbur barely had the composure to wish him goodbye when the time came. Techno had just stared at him with that blank look that said nothing and everything and turned away without saying a word.

That was weeks ago. He was supposed to call in after three days.

The last time it took this long to get news, the war went tails-up and Tellus nearly fucking lost. He had no intention of letting that happen again, had no intention of letting the children of his world fear for their lives as he did. (He would carry the weight of it forever, a block of lead lodged at the base of his spine like a bullet that he almost wished had killed him. Almost.)

There was barely anyone fucking left. They could not lose their best fleet. (He could not lose *him*.)

But he didn’t have a choice. He never had one when it mattered. So he tried to move on, to work. And when the news of a crushing defeat reached his desk, he was not prepared to learn there were no known survivors.

A Techbur twins AU where they're both born with pink hair.

Wilbur dyes it brown because he thinks pink "doesn't fit his aesthetic". Techno thinks that's stupid.

Some random Friday at like 3 am:

T: "Why the fuck are you awake Wilbur?"

W: "I need to dye my hair again, people will start noticing my hairline!"

T: "At 3 in the morning???"

T: "...let me help you."

It became tradition for them to dye Wilburs hair every two weeks after that.

One time Techno gets dye on his hair and doesn't know what to do. Wilbur comes up with the idea that they could dye a streak of Technos hair brown and in return he would grow out a pink streak of hair.

Tommy feels left out by this brotherly tradition and tries to convince Tubbo do dye their hair together. Tubbo declines.

Ranboo is down though and next time Wilbur and Techno do their hair Ranboo and Tommy join them.

Ranboo ends up doing a black and white split dye while Tommy just bleaches a lock of his hair to (kind of) match Wilbur's style.

After that Ranboo and Tommy join the boys once a month to touch up their colours. Techno let's the streak of brown grow out, he prefers his pink hair.

Eventually Tubbo and Niki want to join as well, but Tubbo only wants to help.

After the first time Phil bans "hair dying sleepovers" from his house and they have to actually dye their hair during day time and not at 3 am anymore.

In senior year they get a new head teacher and he wants to change the dress code and disallow dyed hair.

Wilbur gets upset until they realise the dress code only forbids "unnatural" dyed hair so technically he doesn't break a rule.

They still start a petition against this rule so Ranboo and Niki can keep their hair dyed (and because it's a stupid rule).

This almost leads to a school wide protest but their history teacher steps in and talks to the head teacher about "youth culture" and the rule gets dismissed.

To spite the new head teacher anyways Wilbur let's his hair grow out for the rest of the year, but dyes it again before going to uni.

What’s the twins techbur alicorn Au?

Boi o boi! The au consists of a few more pictures, I'll drop them chronogically and then the explanation :3

Techno and Wil are twin ponies. As little colts they were playing together and Wilbur accidently forced Tech into situation where the red pony broke his horn. Unicorns can't do magic with broken horns, as it is highly dangerous for everyone around and themselves.

Techno ran away from home and Wil spent a long time searching for him/trying to find a way to recover Techno's horn. Before he succeded, Techno came back, backed by a power like no other.

Phil, the King of Changelings promised to recover Techno's magic if the pony helped him take over the Kingdom for his hive. Techno is a terrifying warrior even without magic, so he did most of the war on ease.

Phil said that having Wilbur is crucial in order to fix Techno's horn and Techno captured his twin, threatened him and delivered him to Phil.

Phil, who knew that Wil still loved Techno and would do anything for him, even if he was terrified. Phil, who knew that Wilbur's magic and charisma could help fell the Kingdom even faster and make it perfect feeding grounds for his Hive.

His plan was to mainly force/guilt Wilbur into working for him by assuming Techno's form, sometimes with a fixed horn, sometimes with broken, just to perpetuate that feeling of love and doom

Mind you, Wilbur was working on a way to recover Technos horn his whole life at this point. He was terrifies of what would happen to the pony kingdom and knew he can't risk accidentally falling for Philza’s plot.

Wilbur had a solution. He created a highly volatile spell. The spell was meant to take a pony and take away their core element- pegasus wings, earth pony strength or unicorns horn- and then remodel them into something else. Wilbur planned to first make Techno into a pegasus and then remodel him *again*.

The problem of that magic, was it required HUGE mastery of the spell and the cost was deemed too high. Wilbur would die if he did the spell more than once that is

But he wanted to save Techno :3

You can see in the casting spell art, the colored paned glass window actually foreshadows what actually happens

Techno's transformation got messed by Wilburs dying moment and he was between a recovered unicorn and pegasus- and bc he still loved his brother, he tried to save him from his own idiocy. And fed his magic into the spell, accidentally finishing and defining it.

The spell was so innovative and so fate changing and defining that it actually granted the innovators of the spell alicorn status! Something similar to what happened to Twilight Sparkle in mlp :3

As to what happened with Tommy and Philza... well~ that's still up to decide >:3c

How DO I sign up for this?

We have had to squeeze the sign-up form until it screams to make this work, so buckle in. Here is an example of how to sign up on Ao3 for the recursive exchange, step by step.

I have an idea for a side story for Etho and Iskall in This Is About A Stuffed Bird, by bee_4. So, to start with— that's a hermitcraft fic.

So I select Hermitcraft on the Fandoms part of the sign-up. Note that as we add more fandoms to the list, potentially this will become a drop-down menu instead of checklists. You still select the fandom you want in the same way.

Next is Gift Style. We're using the "characters" tab for that one.

I'm good with my gift being an art, a fic, or a web weave, so I can select all three of these! If I only wanted a fic, or an art, I would only select one.

Next is the Relationship tab, which we're using for characters (told you that we were having to squeeze the signup form until it screamed).

This is a drop-down menu, and I select the characters I want— in this case, Iskall and Ethoslab. Note that possibly I will only match on one character, as we couldn't do relationship matching this time, so I try to keep that in mind when it comes to my requests!

Next is Additional Tags, which is where I select the fic that I'm actually asking for a gift about! In the future, as more fics are added, this will be a dropdown menu, but right now it's tickboxes.

Next is categories. This is our shipping on-off switch.

I've decided that I am good with shipping or not with this one, so I've selected BOTH Gen and M/M. But now that I'm on the page I'm like "I wouldn't mind it if they were lesbians either" so I have selected F/F as well.

Next is rating, which is the NSFW on-off switch. I'm good with smut or no smut, so I've selected both options.

If I wanted no smut whatsoever I could do just Gen (which could also lead to a Mature or Teen work, but excludes E-rated work), and if I definitely wanted there to be dicks out I could select only Explicit.

Then we get to the major archive warnings. This is where you opt-in to archive warnings— it doesn't mean I will necessarily get them, but I'm okay with them! The matching says you might get any one of the things you select here.

Given the source material, I'm opting into Violence and Death as options, and I'm also selecting no warnings apply to show that I'm also good with no major archive warnings!

Now on to the actual request!

There's a space where I could link a letter if I wanted to go into detail with my request, but I think I can fit it in the text box today! I had to put my DNW on the Ao3, and because I said I was open to smut I included a NSFW DNW.

Okay, on to request two.

As you can see, for request two I'm doing a DSMP fic this time, and I specifically want art or web weaves! I selected emerald duo, and the fic I want. And I just want this one to be no shipping, so I only selected Gen for the type of relationship.

I opted out of explicit for this one, and I did say graphic violence was okay OR no archive warnings apply.

On to request three!

This is much like request two, except I only want fic for this one! But it's Dream SMP, Fic requested, the characters I want (techbur twins), the fic I want (catbag), I want it to be Gen and no shipping, no NSFW, I'm okay with graphic depictions of violence, and my prompt!

Now on to my offers.

I'm gonna start with Stuffed Bird again.

So it's a Hermitcraft fic, I am only able to make fic for it, but you know what, I'll write literally anybody in this world. Hit me. I selected any relationship (which in this case means any CHARACTER). And I selected any TYPE of relationship too— yes I'll write any type of shipping or non-shipping. I can't write smut though, so I only selected General for the rating, and I will absolutely do violence but I am not good with MCD or noncon, so I didn't select those.

For my second request, I opened up catbag.

That's a Dream SMP fic, but this time I only wanted to do specific characters. I set it up so that I'd write any combination of SBI, Beeduo, and Quackity. No shipping for me with this one, and no smut, but yes I'll do graphic violence.

And then on to odaigahara's fic!

That's a Dream SMP fic, and I think I could make a web weave for that one, so I selected both fic and web weave. I only want to write Emerald Duo for it, so I just selected them. No shipping, only Gen for this one, and no smut, only gen as well. I don't feel like doing graphic depictions of violence for thisone, so I just selected no archive warnings apply!

For my final one, I really want to make sure that I'm matchable on femslash, so I did a bit of a basket offer.

I selected both Hermitcraft and 3rd life, and selected that I would be making fic. I selected all the ladies (+iskall, for stresskall), and when it came time to select an additional tag, which is what fic I'm saying I'll match on, I selected any. With that and the F/F tag selected, it means that I'll be matchable to any Hermit-Traffic femslash request, no matter which story or art it's attached to. Cause I figure I can read the source material and make something in the creation time period!

So that is 3 requests and 4 offers done, and I have a full sign-up! I'm ready to go! That is how you sign up! Over the course of the sign-up period I might keep an eye on other people's sign-ups (available at the Ao3 automagic app) and tweak my sign-ups so that I'm matchable with someone (or several someones), but for right now, I'm good to go!

Several days ago I saw fanarts of the Techbur/Twins Duo again, and I found one particularly very good, perhaps that direction the original story would have taken would be more gloomy and that is, in the original lore, C!Wilbur and C!Tech were not together the most of the time when they were just kids, in this comic literally when the voices began to torment Tech, what would have happened if he had attacked his brother Wil when being tormented by those same voices?

Seeing that it could be another lore generated there, now I really can't stop imagining something similar, like something like this:

After unconsciously attacking his brother and biting his arm with such brutality until his mouth was filled with blood, the voices kept asking him for more and more, Tech did not want to continue hurting his brother and had to endure it for several days, until Wil came up with something that could help him, so he proposes to Techno that every night that he can't stand the voices that constantly ask for blood, he could offer his, so his brother wouldn't suffer anymore, of course, just drink his blood, not to eat it completely, distrustful, Tech accepts Wil's proposal and just as he said, every night that happens, he gets into his brother's bed and hugs him from behind while biting his shoulder to be able to drink the red liquid from his body, which they did every night behind Philza's back, so that Tech could better control the voices in his head without killing his brother, so that had become routine several nights a week
