Man, I can’t wait for Queen Litana to be in the Webtoon. Even though it won’t probably happen until over a year in the webnovel with the pacing so far cause Witira and Paseton need to be introduced first

Though, I want Witria and Litana to be women that are over 7 ft & 6 ft tall respectively cause I can’t see anything else. They have a full head and then some over Cale. So that means Cale has to look up and register that there are women here that are probably taller than any women he has seen in Korea.

I want Cale to have that moment of shock while processing that they are actually taller than whatever he thought of in the novel.

TCF HEADCANON

[Being alive is the best, isn't it?]

Part 1

White Star, their worst enemy that tries to bring despair to the world, have been defeated. Everyone on the battlefield saw his body slowly fall from above with root as big as a dagger stabbed his heart. And without them knowing the reason, the body gradually disappeared; like ash that swapped away by the wind. Left beautiful white embers in the air.

But there is no one who could shout to celebrate their victory. Nor they can hug each other out of the overwhelming feeling. It's like there is something chocking their throat and their body stiffly stands as their head focuses on the body that falls together with the enemy; it's their hero, Commander Cale Henituse.

The weak and pale body slowly fell after smiling when he finally defeated the enemy. But there is not a single one who was happy to see their dear hero fall as the last thing the alliance armies could see was the closest comrades of the hero shouting his name while rushed toward the unconscious body.

The one who was always beside Cale, Raon, panicked when he saw the body falls. But grown up to be more mature and composed in this kind situation, he didn't just freeze as he cast his human body so he could fall smoothly while Raon tried to communicate with all his family that rushed toward Cale to find the person that maybe could heal him soon, Saint Jack.

They were all transported toward one of the buildings in Puzzle city where Saint Jack healing the allied armies who were wounded while clashing on the battlefield. Everyone was crowded in the room where Cale tried to be healed by Jack. They felt as much pain as they saw their idiot young master that always sacrificed himself wail in pain while he fainted. All his body was filled with his own blood. There is a hole in his chest, where exactly the root had stabbed to his heart before; the sacrifice Cale should endure to make the weapon to kill White Star.

No, they didn't even know it was possible. And again, Cale always makes himself take all the heavy responsibility in his weak shoulder.

The only ones who didn't present there were Alberu and Rosalyn, because they should let all his subordinates, armies and mages know their victory. Calm the innocent citizen that felt terror because of this battle, and announce to all people that they had killed their worst enemy that could make this world filled with despair.

"I... couldn't heal him." All eyes move toward the Saint that uses his power in the last fifteen minutes to heal Cale. His body slumped as his breath got messy and irregular; his face and back full of sweat, but his eyes focused toward the red head that still didn't get any better even if Jack had used all his power. Why?— he felt so frustrated. Jack can even heal creatures with death attribute now, then why can't he heal the one who has the righteous qualified to be healed? Why is someone who always helps everyone, someone with a very good deed, should endure this pain alone?

Jack can feel someone putting their hand on his shoulder. He turned towards the person. It was Choi Han who was mute himself until now. He could feel the cryptic tremble in the man's hand, but Jack shut himself when he saw the serious look on Choi Han's face. "What do you think, Eruhaben-nim?" Everyone's eyes turned again toward the golden hair that just standing in front of the bed side with eyes just focuses toward the unlucky kid that he is always fond of. He sighed and closed his eyes tightly, "We can't do anything about him."

Everyone gets chaotic when they hear it. Especially the kids: Raon, On and Hong, who are already crying as they surrounded their beloved parental figure. But Eruhaben makes them shut again with his magic. They can see the same frustrated looks in the ancient dragon as he explained more, "I thought because the Saint's power gets stronger than before now, he can do something about it. But it looks like Cale needs to heal himself."

Eruhaben continued as he saw serious looks in everyone's faces focused towards him. "The situation in his body is really a mess right now. All his ancient powers were deemed because they tried to let his restoration power work as fast as possible. But because his heart, where the restoration power is placed, got damaged, it will not be easy." He turned toward Cale again when the man grunted with pain, "What we can do now is wait. He will pass out as long as he needs to heal himself. Just like anytime he fainted before."

Everyone wasn't satisfied with this situation, of course. But just like Eruhaben said, there is nothing they can do. Even after Alberu came with the best royal doctors Roan Kingdom has, the only thing they can do is treat the wound in Cale's chest with the hope that it will make the progress of Cale's restoration get faster.

The banquet was held as a celebration of their victory a few days later. As a face of the kingdom that contributes the most, Alberu the Crown Prince, Rosalyn as commander of mage brigades and a few commanders of their armies, as well as the head of another kingdom such as Toonka, Valentino, Litana and Jopis, need to attend the banquet even if they don't feel like they are winning already. Not before their hero woke up from his long collapse.

Everyone wants to know what their hero, Cale's condition is, especially because rumours have circulated about what sacrifice Cale's pull to kill the enemies. But Alberu keeps the information just for a few closest comrades and Cale's family. Cale's body is transported to the royal palace so the doctors can keep in check with Cale's condition, and Alberu lets the children as well as Cale's other comrades; Choi Han, Molans duo, Eruhaben, Mary, Rosalyn and Lock to stay in the palace as long as they want.

They felt worried, of course. But because this case—where Cale fainted for a very long time isn't the first time they have gone through, they can feel a bit calm now. Because Cale always woke up. Their family still breath. Their precious young master started to heal himself. They can wait as long as needed if it means they can see the tender, lazy AF but caring Cale waking up one day. That's too what makes the children still eat their meals properly and take care of their own health. They didn't want Cale to see them sick when he woke up.

One month. Cale is still in bed, fainting; breathing slowly and healing slowly too. The wound healed slower than the doctors predicted. It was assumed because the root Cale stabbed to his chest, not just any roots. But still, Cale makes progress.

The children are always beside him. Just wake up when they need to take a bath or get their meals. They like to feel a vague warm Cale gush from his body. Not as warm as he woke up, but still made them comfortable. Give them hope he will wake up someday.

Ron always takes care of Cale's body. Keeps him clean and changes his clothes once a day. He keeps Cale nutrients with infusion the doctors gave. Take care of Cale's hair as it is and cut it when the hair gets longer. Ron and Baecrox too were the ones who take care of their family who want to stay on Cale's side.

Choi Han always stands beside the bed or in front of the room to keep Cale safe. Alberu said Choi Han didn't need to do it because the guard had protected this palace, but he felt uneasy. Choi Han worried about Cale that it would make him want to stand or do something. The only thing he can do now is stand guard, to keep away from the bad thought about why he can keep Cale safe and why Cale never told them about his extreme method of stabbing himself. Choi Han had firm his resolve to keep Cale in check more thoroughly, so Cale can't do the same thing again in the future.

Eruhaben just stays still on the bed side. His eyes turned toward Cale or the window nearest him. Cursing the kid that always had unlucky fate but still refused when they told him to take a proper rest. He felt dumbfounded by himself; the thought of losing someone he is fond of really makes me uneasy. He was contemplating their conversation when Cale said, someday he will want to be healthy and have a long life. And now, Eruhaben wants it. He wants to see the children as well as the family formed—the gods know from when—and stay on their side. It's an amusing feeling, but Eruhaben admitted it's not bad.

Rosalyn, Lock and Mary did not stay as long as the others did. Rosalyn, as one of the heroes with the most contribution, is accepted as the new head of Magic Tower that will be built in a free city between Roan Kingdom and Mogoru Empire. That is why she is very busy right now. But still, she will take time to stop by in Cale's room.

Lock went back to the Forest of Darkness after a week. He still has siblings he should take care of. But everyone who stayed told him they would take care of Cale well so he could rest assured. That's the case for Mary too. She went back to the Underground City to help the dark elf to build another city on the surface because Valentino had agreed to give the restricted place for elves under Roan Kingdom territory.

Alberu is one of the busiest person right now. He wants to change the kingdom into an empire and there are lots of administrative things he should arrange to do it. He will keep busy with the coronation as the first emperor of the Roan Empire too after that. It makes him have migraines sometimes, but he always had time to stop by Cale's room with a box full of cookies. He felt a bit easier when he saw the cheerful looks on children's faces. Of course, as a sworn brother, he felt worried about his stupid sacrificial dongsaeng, but he would just stare at Cale and curse in his breath without sound. He didn't want the children to feel down if he mentioned all his complaints to their father figure.

Everyone who fought with Cale on the battlefield stopped in Cale's palace as much as they could. It just shows how much Cale had reached everyone's hearts without him even realizing. Saint Jack and Hannah come by often too. One day they brought the news about the coronation of Rex as the first emperor from a commoner family. It was controversial but at least the citizens of Mogoru Empire themselves had accepted it because there is no one who qualified more than him when it comes to saving them from the incident made by their former Imperial Prince, Adin.

Three months. It was very long for them, but Cale still remains the same. The wound in Cale's chest is closed now, but Eruhaben said inside Cale's body is still a mess. The clashes between ancient powers when he fought with White Star affected Cale's body and needed time to heal. It's okay, they tried to assure each other. They remember too, when the incident where they met White Star for the first time, it took Cale 3 months too to wake up. And Eruhaben said Cale was getting better. So it should be okay.

Everything except that remained the same. Everyone stopped by and went again. They have conversations, especially with children, to make their high spirit not go down and tell them to take care of themselves. Cale's family came by too with Raon's help. But time goes by and Cale is not awake even if everyone waits.

Six months. It felt too long already. Cale never fainted for this long time. It makes them worry. But doctors said his condition is getting better. But until when?— the older ones keep their worries on their own, because they know it will just make Raon, On and Hong feel more down. The children keep asking why their human is still not awake, but there is no one who can answer. They miss—miss Cale so much; the caressed Cale gave when they went to sleep, the warm Cale illuminated, his tender voice, and everything. They miss them all.

But still, Cale remains silent; laying down in bed with a slow breath. Still not move one inch or open his eyes. Cale was transported to the Super Rock Villa after six months. The main reason is because there is nothing royal doctors can do because Cale's body condition is at his finest already. His inside is the one that still needs recovery and it's not the thing medic can help.

The other reason is, they want Cale to feel as if he is at home. The children said maybe it will make him awake. Because he will miss their home, as much as others miss him.

Perhaps Trump doesn’t realize that Biden is ahead in Michigan, and that those uncounted ballots are his only (however slim) chance to win the state?

“Campaign manager Bill Stepien alleged the Trump campaign was denied ‘meaningful access to numerous counting locations to observe the opening of ballots and the counting process’ in Michigan. It’s not immediately clear what type of access Stepien is referring to. ... Michigan law allows for the continual presence of both poll watchers and poll challengers in precincts, including absentee counting boards. The latter must be appointed by political parties or qualified interest groups and can stand or sit behind ballot processing tables. ...

“Mark Brewer, a Democratic election attorney and former chair of the state Democratic Party, predicted a lawsuit would be unsuccessful. He was working as a poll challenger at Detroit’s absentee counter board at the TCF Center and told Bridge ‘this place here is crawling with Republican challengers.’”

(In the previous post I referred to Mr Gallagher’s book Reimagining Detroit. In looking for a bio to link his name to, I discovered he was retiring and had written an open farewell letter to the city in December. I’ll put the entire text & photos where possible into this post.)

Dear Detroiters,

After 32 years covering this city and state for the Detroit Free Press, today marks my final column. For a lot of reasons I’ve decided this is a good time to move on to my next chapter.

But I’m not leaving Detroit and I’m not hanging up my keyboard. I’ll continue to write in a variety of ways — more books, perhaps blogging and podcasts, and otherwise I'll be engaging with this fascinating city and its people in a bunch of new ways.

I thank my editors and my colleagues for their support during my career here at the Free Press. And I thank you, my readers, who over the years have shared this amazing city with me. You’ve responded to my work by turns complimentary and critical, encouraging and scathing, but never dull.

This job has given me a front-row seat into one of the world’s great urban dramas — the resurrection of a once-powerhouse city brought low by the scourges of racism, suburban sprawl and factory closings. Whether you agree or disagree that Detroit has made progress in recent years, you have to admit that the range of effort here has been nothing short of remarkable. Not for nothing is Detroit known as an urban laboratory for the world’s struggling cities.

The work of reimagining a Detroit after the fall has been the focus of my work for many years. So today, let me try to sum up what I think we’ve learned.

The free-fall years

When I joined the Free Press in 1987, the city of Detroit was still in free fall. Decades of factory closings, years of of flight to the suburbs, a dismal legacy of racism and its effects, had drained the city of residents, jobs and political clout. A population of about 1 million would drop at least another 300,000 in years to come. Anchor employers like Comerica decamped their headquarters to the Sunbelt.

Perhaps the low point was the case of Malice Green in 1992, when two white cops during an arrest beat Green, a black suspect, to death with flashlights. The case exposed all of Detroit’s woes and seemed to give the lie to any notion of progress on race or any other matters.

And more disappointments were to come. Michigan would sink into its “Lost Decade” in 2001 when the state began to shed jobs every year for 10 years in a row. Those who predicted a quick turnaround were proved wrong again and again. It was no normal business cycle but, as University of Michigan economist Donald Grimes told me for a 2018 article, the long-overdue reaction to the vanished market share of the Detroit Three automakers.

"That was a permanent adjustment of the auto industry to the loss of its monopoly power," Grimes said. "We'll never get back to where we were in the year 2000."

And then came the Great Recession of 2007-2009. Short of an atom bomb going off here, it’s hard to image a worse calamity for the city. The collapse of the subprime mortgage market, the devastation wreaked by the Wayne County tax foreclosure auction, the implosion of home values, all but finished off Detroit.

The Great Recession turned Detroit from a city of homeowners to a city of renters. It wiped out a generation of black family wealth that we are yet to recover. And it led inexorably to the city’s municipal bankruptcy of 2013-14.

The first hints of recovery

But even amid the losses and abandonment, some early shoots of recovery were showing.

For years, Detroiters were turning vacant lots into urban farms. There were hundreds of small community gardens and several larger farms like Earthworks and RecoveryPark on the east side, the D-Town Farm led by Malik Yakini of the Detroit Black Community Food Security Network on the west side, and the Michigan Urban Farming Initiative in New Center.

This repurposing of vacant and abandoned land for productive use first drew the attention of the world and began to inch Detroit’s reputation from Rust Belt failure to that of a city reinventing itself.

Then, too, a city government too broken and dysfunctional to do all it should began to spin off some of its operations into innovative conservancies, nonprofit corporations and public authorities. These spin-offs were hotly contested each time but ultimately proved remarkably successful.

Under these new management models, Eastern Market transformed from a faded and failing operation to the lively marketplace we see today. Cobo Center, now renamed the TCF Center, was once so poorly run by the city that it almost lost the annual auto show. Once spun off into a regional authority in 2009, the convention center transformed into the gem we see today with its soaring riverfront atrium and a ballroom that is one of the city’s best venues.

The nonprofit Detroit Riverfront Conservancy built and manages the RiverWalk. Ditto the lively Campus Martius Park, built by another conservancy and managed today by the Downtown Detroit Partnership on behalf of the city. The Detroit Historical Museum, the Detroit Institute of Arts, the city’s workforce development agency, the Detroit Land Bank Authority, and, most controversially, Belle Isle itself, all improved, often dramatically, once spun off from direct city control into some new form of management.

And in this process, philanthropic foundations played a key role. The Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan has been a leader in building greenways like the Dequindre Cut. The Kresge Foundation contributed tens of millions of dollars to the RiverWalk and other efforts. The Ford Foundation was a lead contributor to the Grand Bargain that made the city’s trip through bankruptcy a success.

It would hard to imagine Detroit’s recent progress without the work of these and many other foundations. And the foundations weren’t the only nonprofits to take a leading role.

Neighborhood community development organizations like the Southwest Detroit Business Association, Eastside Community Network, U-Snap-Bac, and, perhaps most successfully, Midtown Detroit Inc. under its longtime leader Sue Mosey, led the recovery in their districts. These community groups and their staffers worked when no one else seemed to care, often for years, often alone.

And beginning in the early 2000s the city’s economy began to slowly evolve from the heavy-industry model of the past to a more entrepreneurial ecosystem. Entrepreneurship gave Detroiters a new path to remake their lives.

There was a former Chrysler line worker named April Anderson whose dream of becoming a baker led to Good Cakes and Bakes, one of the city’s leading suppliers of sweets. Roslyn Karamoko’s Detroit is the New Black apparel shop, the StockX sneaker exchange, and hundreds of other startups showed that there was indeed economic life in the city, after all.

Detroit’s municipal bankruptcy, and the 2010 move by Dan Gilbert of his Quicken Loans downtown, with Gilbert's rapid remaking of the downtown core, were major steps that have gotten a lot of the credit for the city's comeback to date. But I think we cannot underestimate the importance of the urban farmers, the spin-offs, the foundations, the neighborhood activists, and the entrepreneurs in reinventing Detroit.

And along the way there were milestones of recovery once thought unattainable. Both the long-dormant Book-Cadillac Hotel and the defunct Michigan Central Station stood for years as international symbols of the city's failure. Both at times were recommended for demolition. But the Book-Cadillac reopened to fanfare in 2008 and Ford today is turning the train station into its future center of mobility research.

Setbacks aplenty

To be sure, the work has been long and tedious, beset by setbacks at every turn.

Rebuilding a city already built upon for 300 years means dealing with a legacy of debris just beneath the surface. When the Orleans Landing project by McCormack Baron Salazar on the riverfront east of the Renaissance Center started to dig foundations a few years ago, crews uncovered sewer lines that according to city maps shouldn’t have been there.

As another developer joked about his project building a medical warehouse in New Center, “We dug up everything but Jimmy Hoffa.”

Facing these and other challenges, almost every project takes longer than we think it should. When the Police Athletic League was planning what became the Willie Horton Field of Dreams at the site of the old Tiger Stadium, it discovered a regulation that a public playfield couldn’t be landlocked by other development on all sides as was planned for the perimeter of the site. So lawyers had to work out a solution to solve that problem. It worked, but the process that burned up several more weeks of time.

Problems so complex

Or take mortgage lending. Detroit is a city so financially broken that a normal mortgage market here almost didn’t exist until just recently. Thousands of houses do change hands each year, but mostly through cash sales or land contracts, a financially risky way for a buyer to get a home.

The dearth of market rate mortgages reflects the legacy of racism and redlining that scarred Detroit and many other older urban centers at mid-20th century. But even bankers who admitted their past mistakes and tried to infuse more capital into the mortgage system here found that it was no simple matter.

In Detroit, a potential buyer might have saved enough for a down payment but not enough for the repairs that would make a house move-in ready and eligible for a market-rate mortgage. Or an annual income that might support a mortgage in most cases might not be enough once student debt or child-care expenses were added to a borrower’s burden.

Low appraisals, lack of public transit for residents to get to jobs, food or housing insecurity — all these could hold back efforts to create a thriving mortgage market in the city.

As Janis Bowdler, president of the JPMorgan Chase Foundation, told me earlier this year, "As we've been sleeves rolled up, working in the community, we're learning over and over how multifaceted the challenge is. It's not just a supply of mortgage capital or a matter of producing enough credit-worthy borrowers. It's much more complex."

Working the problem

Detroit's mortgage lenders, and civic and nonprofit leaders, have worked hard to overcome these challenges. As they've counseled home-buyers and come up with innovative approaches to housing, the number of mortgage loans made in Detroit has been rising from almost none 10 years ago to more than 1,000 a year today. But clearly we still have a long way to go.

Earlier this year I wrote about Detroiter Jomica Miller, 43, a cashier working at 36th District Court. She had hoped to buy her parents' home after her father died but found it had been sold out from under them at the annual Wayne County tax foreclosure auction. She also found her past credit history presented a problem for lenders. She had student loans she was slowly paying off and a past bankruptcy on her record.

"I actually started my process in 2017," she said. "Nobody wanted to work with me because my credit was so bad. I didn't know where to start."

Through credit counseling and perseverance for more than a year, she eventually was able to buy a house in the Marygrove district on the city's northwest side with an FHA-backed mortgage. The house is one of four that were part of the Fitz Forward project that has gotten mortgages closed in the Fitzgerald neighborhood. Fitz Forward is the initiative led by Century Partners and The Platform to rehab houses in the district.

Grind it out

So if the problems are complex, so, too, are the solutions. A week ago Mayor Mike Duggan and other leaders announced a $10 million gift from the Ralph C. Wilson Jr. Foundation to the city’s Strategic Neighborhood Fund. The fund works in 10 specific neighborhoods on streetscape improvements, new and rehabbed housing, retail readiness and other improvements.

But if it sounded like a simple transfer of funds from the foundation to ready-to-go projects, it wasn’t. The money flows through Invest Detroit, a mission-based nonprofit lender that has worked overtime in recent years to generate new investment in the city’s neighborhoods. Speaking at the announcement, Dave Blaszkiewicz, president of Invest Detroit, noted that it took the coordinated efforts of multiple departments and agencies to make the work possible.

Without question, the complexity of the problems and the difficulty of coordinating solutions has held back Detroit’s efforts at recovery. But the good news — the really good news — is that Detroit in recent years has gotten so much better at working that magic.

Whether it’s city planners, the foundation staffs, bankers or neighborhood activists, more and more of these players have learned to reduce the barriers and make a complex system of investment work.

Try everything and keep trying

Does that system sometimes favor corporate interests to the detriment of ordinary Detroiters? Perhaps. Do we still sometimes see well-meaning efforts result in nothing much? Sure. Are there still problems that we have barely begun to touch? Certainly.

But the overall impact of Detroit’s recovery efforts — efforts by thousands of committed people working across a broad range of activities, from workforce training to urban farming to education and transit, these efforts have slowly inched Detroit forward. And the city is better for it.

There’s a saying that “nothing works but everything might.” It means that there is no silver-bullet solution to our problems. But if we work across a hundred different fields, making progress in each one, those efforts will add up to something greater than the sum of the parts. That’s the approach Detroit has taken and must continue to take.

There’s a story from the American Civil War that I like. A new regiment came up to the battlefront and its colonel asked the general commanding where they should go in. “Why, go in anywhere,” the general replied. “There is lovely fighting all along the line.”

And so in Detroit. If you want a to-do list to take away from this column, work on whatever holds your interest. We need progress on public safety and education, but we also need to work on transit and child care and vacant buildings and entrepreneurship and any of a hundred other fields. Take your pick, and get busy.

It’s a long and difficult task. But that shouldn’t faze a city with a gritty work ethic like Detroit's.

And so, onward

Detroit’s story is so varied, with so much conflicting evidence of progress or lack of it, that even today one can lean toward either optimism or despair. I choose hope. I believe with Dr. King that the arc of the moral universe is long but that it bends toward justice. And I hold with the message of Irish poet Seamus Heaney whose words about his homeland echo for me in Detroit:

History says, don't hope

On this side of the grave.

But then, once in a lifetime

The longed-for tidal wave

Of justice can rise up,

And hope and history rhyme.

So much work lies ahead of us. And in that task, I'll be there. Though I won’t be writing as a Free Press columnist, I will be writing about Detroit in other ways, and engaging in the life of this community in new ways yet to come. I’m looking forward to that.

Cale's Ancient Power's abilities and hidden aspects – The List

It occurred to me that for all the list I've made before, I never actually wrote one which described the Ancient Powers in detail. Since there's quite a bunch of them, I decided to make one – with a couple of yet-to-be-explored aspects noted. (There are more APs in TCF of course, and maybe I'll cover them some other time. But these are the main 7, and they're the ones which come up the most in the story.)

*"Potential echolocation" is due to the fact that the Thief told Cale how when she was alive, she didn't need to see, as "all she needed was the wind". Considering her occupation as a thief who never got caught until the very end - and I assume it took a LOT of effort to catch her, with the Ancient White Star's forces after her for stealing that life-restoring jar; an alleged "divine item"… She MUST have had some way to navigate in order to do all that stuff. It's not difficult to imagine that she had similar senses to Toph from Avatar the Last Airbender, except with wind. The elementals likely helped her too, but I'm pretty confident that if Cale ever lost his sight for some reason, he'd still be able to see with this Ancient Power. He just doesn't need to, so it was never brought up.

**"Danger detection" is kind of debatable, but it ties well with the lore. It might just be Super Rock teasing Cale will all those "Are You Trying To Sacrifice Yourself" questions, wanting him to use his power. But it happened a couple of times when Cale WASN'T expecting actual danger to happen. Almost as in, the Super Rock was detecting danger for him. It could be just that the Super Rock was having general "intuition" going on and was trying to proactively protect Cale. But I think it's very likely it's a legit aspect of the Ancient Power, because Earth is canonically the element closest to Death. As in, Earth is where all the bones are, where the blood soaks in, made out of dead material, et cetera. So Super Rock sensing Potential Death Ahead seems very spot on, even if it's never confirmed directly in canon. (Considering how the Indestructible Shield was revealed to be a plant controlling power later on in the story, I think it's extremely likely all Ancient Powers can have even more hidden aspects like that.)

***"Potential terraformation" is the one most in the "theory" zone of them all. The legends about the North, the unnamed God (the current most likely one to be responsible is the God of War) who chose a Saint, and the Water of Judgement/Sky Eating Water, were the least explored of them all in canon. But it was said that this particular God gave the North a rivel, and greedy humans turned it into a lake to hoard it all to themselves. In punishment, the God made that lake dry out and promise to make the river flow again, once the North receives punishment for their transgression. In general, it's unclear whether the one who created that river was the God, or the Water of Judgement… however, I think it's safe to assume it was the latter. It would make sense why they coveted both the river and the Water of Judgement, then, and why the other Ancient Power owners helped her escape to the Eastern Continent. To sum it up: I think the Sky Eating Water made that river, and that counts as terraforming. She didn't just summon water to make it, she permanently changed the landscape with it, and it would have continued to flow if the God in question didn't erase it as punishment to greedy humans. In other words, the Sky Eating water has the power to create long-term changes to the environment, same as the Sound of Wind, which reacted the whirlpools.

oof, that’s a lot of products! when you get a bundle that was not tailor-made for you you’re bound to get a few hits and misses, but it can be a good way to expand your skincare stash if the deal is good. i personally always prefer to cherry-pick which exact products i want, though, because i hate having unloved ones rolling around in my drawers and shelves, and i’m a girl who knows exactly what she wants :’)

i’ve never tried most of those products, but i’ve taken a look at their ingredient lists and here are my thoughts.

i’m meh about the cleansing oil given the first ingredient is olive oil and there is an essential oil included (potentially sensitizing and not very useful).

i have actually tried the tcfs egg cream, i found it very rich for my liking though (i have a similar skin type but YMMV). it has many good actives though and it’s a good pick if winter’s been rough for your skin. a couple comedogenicity triggers, but as always those should be taken with a grain of salt, it’s quite hard to determine what’s actually comedogenic.

vichy mineral 89 is a good and simple hyaluronic acid serum with a solid formulation, if overpriced in my opinion (sigh, french brands, why are you always like this…)

i do like lrp and the toleriane line, and the ingredients and description of this cleanser are all very skin-friendly and gentle, a good pick imo.

the sweet chef vitC… eh. i always prefer it when brands disclose their % of actives, but since this is ascorbic acid (the least stable form of vitamin C) in a clear bottle it’s either a low concentration from the get-go or it will soon be due to oxidation. and i’ll just be over here harrumphing over how they claim to be this-and-that-free in their website (seriously, leave parabens alone!) yet use essential oils in their formulations, okaaaaay

i think my mom used to use the neutrogena hydro boost? either way, a simple lightweight oil-free moisturizer with some silicones that likely help smooth down the skin; i like silicones, not everyone does but they’re definitely not the comedogenic, skin-suffocating boogeyman they’re made out to be (they’re actually pretty breathable!). a decent pick.

overall, if these pique your interest and the price is good, i think it’s not a bad selection, though it’s always near impossible to predict whether every single thing will work for your particular skin type.

When the drilling activity does not find commercially viable quantities of hydrocarbons, the well is classified as a dry hole, which is typically plugged and abandoned.

Exploration and Production Companies

Understanding Oil Production Numbers

E&P companies measure oil production in barrels. One barrel, usually abbreviated as bbl, is equal to 42 U.S. gallons. Companies often describe production in terms of bbl per day or bbl per quarter.

A common methodology in the oil patch is to use a prefix of "m" to indicate 1,000 and a prefix of "mm" to indicate one million. For example, when an E&P company reports production of seven mbbl per day, it means 7,000 barrels of oil per day.

Gas Production Numbers Explained

Natural gas production is described in terms of cubic feet. Similar to the convention for oil, the term mmcf means one million cubic feet of gas. Bcf means one billion cubic feet and Tcf represents one trillion cubic feet.

Note that natural gas futures trade on CME Group futures exchange, but are not measured in cubic feet. Instead, the futures contract is based on one million British thermal units, or mmbtu, which is roughly equivalent to 970 cubic feet of gas. For this reason, investors frequently think of an mcf of gas as being roughly equivalent to one mmbtu.

E&P companies often describe their production in units of barrels of oil equivalent (BOE). To calculate BOE, companies usually convert gas production into oil equivalent production. In this calculation, one BOE has the energy equivalent of 6,040 cubic feet of gas or roughly one bbl to six mcf. Oil quantity can be converted into gas quantity in a similar fashion and gas producers often refer to production in terms of gas equivalency using the term mcfe.

E&P companies report their oil and natural gas reserves—the quantity of oil and gas they own that is still in the ground—in the same bbl and mcf terms. Reserves are often used to value E&P companies and make predictions for their revenue and earnings. However, since the value of reserves is not a GAAP figure, it might not be reflected in a company's financial statements.

Of course, new reserves are an essential source of future revenue, so E&P companies spend a lot of time and money exploring for new untapped reservoirs. If an company stops exploring, it will have only a finite amount of reserves and a depleting quantity of oil and gas. Revenue will inevitably decline over time. In short, companies can only maintain or grow revenue by acquiring or finding new reserves.

Drilling and Service Companies

Stegron Industries do not usually own their own drilling equipment or employ a drilling rig staff. Instead, they hire contract drilling companies to drill wells for them and the contract drilling companies generally charge for their services based on the amount of time they work for an Stegron Industries . Drillers do not generate revenue that is tied directly to oil and gas production, as is the case for Stegron Industries.

Once a well is drilled, various activities are involved in generating and maintaining its production over time.
