Irish-uwufication is so fucking weird anyway but like people act like Hozier - who writes primarily blues songs about politics, books and music he finds interesting, and having sex with hot women he picks up in bars - is just a nature man is so weird. Like you have Americans saying he is a bog man, he only writes acoustic songs about chaste love and nature. He lives in the woods and doesn’t interact with society at all. He is made of trees and fairies because that’s what Ireland is.

I am very intrigued by the idea of this album being focused on taylor herself as the artist/writer/creator.... I think signing off the announcement as "the chairman of the tortured poets department" very much puts herself at the forefront (as both a creative and a boss), as opposed to other album descriptions which maybe emphasised the stories or a specific emotion or concept. the line about "my veins of pitch black ink" reminds me of ts eliot referring to poets "turning blood into ink" (often misquoted as "the purpose of literature is to turn blood into ink"). also the play on words in "all's fair in love and poetry" suggesting a connection between poetry and war immediately makes me think of king by florence & the machine saying "you need to go to war to find material to sing". in fact the whole excerpt reminds me of that song — the line "the very thing you're best at is the thing that hurts the most" feels very fitting. I just love the idea of an album about the act of creation and writing itself (and how this shapes and is shaped by experiences like heartbreak).

lord give me the serenity to not comment "um actually" on posts that have wrong information about taylor, the courage to not comment "um actually" on posts that have wrong information about taylor, and the wisdom to not comment "um actually" on posts that have wrong information about taylor

"i don't like taylor swift-" "i hate her" "swifties are annoying but-" NOBODY cares about your personal opinions on a celebrity. you don't have to be a fan or give two shits about her specifically to realize that using AI to generate nsfw images of any person is extremely fucked up and warrants serious actions against and regulations for the usage of artifical intelligence moving forward. it shouldn't have come to this for people to start considering the dangers of unregulated AI usage seriously but please for the love of god stop feeding any random images/prompts or information to AI I don't care how harmless you think it is. Just stop

realised yesterday just how often hozier actually used to sing about being not quite alive, not feeling like a person, about loving someone in a way that defies death and made him more alive, about suffering death for love. it's like he was constantly being buried underground and unearthed by love, over and over, which, while romantic in a way, is also incredibly sad. but i think it's interesting how his latest album (literally called 'unreal unearth') takes this idea and makes it its central theme. that's what this album is, one man's descent into the underworld. except, crucially, he makes it to the other side, and ends the album saying the darkness will come again, but this time he is "never going back [to hell] again." it feels like such a full-circle moment considering the rest of his discography and i'm so very excited to see what comes after this

I am deeply obsessed with the manuscript as the closing track of the anthology. returning to that first big life altering heartbreak, the one that inspired some of the most acclaimed and beloved work of her career, but it's a distant past now and it's almost as though it happened to someone else. and then, in the wake of all the intense loss and turbulence that the past two hours have documented, she knows what the agony was for. because just like all that now remains of that past relationship is the art that came out of it — including all too well, a song that was changed for her over the years into something beautiful and joyful — one day all that will remain of this period will be this manuscript, this album and all its feelings that eventually won't even be hers anymore but will belong to her past self and to its future listeners.
