Watched "Junji Ito Maniac" on Netflix.

"The Bully" was (in my OWN FUCKING OPINION) the most horrifying story.

It's still hard to believe a wholesome individual such as Ito could create something so intense and disturbing.

It's hard not to spoil anything SO GO WATCH NOW RIGHT NOW THIS IS A THREAT

So, has anyone else seen the Netflix Junji Ito series? If so, what did you think? It was hit and miss in some places for me, but if you watch any episode, I beg you to watch Hanging Balloons. I think they nailed it.

Anyways, I liked a pretty good amount of the stories. I was kinda disappointed with Library Vision. However, one that I wasn't even familiar with was Ice Cream Bus. And I liked it.

The Thing That Drifted Ashore -- Icons

I knew there wouldn't be many icons on this series, especially as Netflix doesn't let you take screenshots smh. But I really loved the manga for this one, so I was excited when it was turned into an anime!

Friendly reminder that anime and manga are 2 very, very different art mediums, and comparing the 2 to each other is nonsensical.

The number of people that "expected more" from the new Junji Ito show are willfully ignoring that his work is more tied to 2D than the average mangaka.

Just be fair to the show. Stop comparing it to a completely different medium of art. Some of you ruined the first collection's name before new comers could form their own opinion.

Most manga is drawn and written with an anime, movie, or video game adaptation in mind. Junji just draws. His work was never "meant" to be animated, and you're a little silly if you expected it to be as good as the mangas.
