That ADHD feel when you mention to someone how happy you are to have found a decent brand of frozen food so you don't have only garbage to eat on THOSE kind of days, and their response is 'oh why didn't you ask me I have a ton of super simple recipes for when you don't want to cook' and then they go 'just chop an onion and then...' No. Bless you and your neurotypical heart, mom, really. But you want me to interrupt my doom scrolling to *checks notes*
1. Find an onion that's miraculously still edible
2. Get the onion
3. Get a knife
4. Get a chopping board
5. Peel the onion
6. Throw away the peel (or live with the guilt of it just lying around on the kitchen counter for all eternity)
7. Chop the onion horizontally
8. Chop the onion vertically
9. Get a bowl
10. Put the onion in the bowl
11. Wash the knife
12. Put away the knife (or live with the guilt of it just lying around on the kitchen counter for all eternity)
13. Wash the chopping board
14. Put away the chopping board (or... you get the gist)
And then I'm STILL NOT DONE?!???
I'd really like to be able to JUST chop an onion, mom, but no. I'll take my frozen food thank you very much.

does anyone else find themselves assimilating someone else’s opinion if your own opinion isn’t strong enough and you like, trust the person or enough ppl have expressed similar opinions?
trying to figure out- is this an ADHD thing, an anxiety thing, a ‘growing up under the gaslight’ thing, or just some combination of my own personal weirdnesses
UPDATE: even if it’s like- a song you thought was ok before but as soon as someone your close to expresses a negative opinion suddenly you cant listen to the song anymore?

The most ADHD stuff that can happen is to forget about your own blog for 3 years cause you had other hyperfixations on the side and have no object permanence whatsoever and then to rediscover it and to want to publish everything that goes into your mind

Person with ADHD: Oh shoot I can’t find the Thing
Person without ADHD: Why don’t you try retracing your steps? :)
Person with ADHD: Okay, I’ll give it a try...
Step 1: The Thing was in my hand.
Step 2: It is now very much Not in my hand.
Conclusion: The Thing is inexplicably gone from existence.

living in an adhd-only household is nuts. it's past midnight and my dad comes upstairs to repair the vacuum cleaner while i'm still awake, fixated on miniature painting. we both have work in the morning. as he tells me to get some sleep, i remember that we intended to do a load of laundry overnight, and we spend some time gathering laundry. i walk back upstairs and find the vacuum cleaner in pieces and my paint drying out. while i'm cleaning up my paint,
