Do you ever have dreams that are so warm with another person but when you try and remember what that person looks like, you cant?
What if Taako had dreams, in the times he doesn't remember lup, of someone in his life. Now, Taako usually has very vivid dreams, I think, to the point he can tell you exactly what happened in them like a story.
But sometimes he has these heart-wrenching dreams of someone. Someone he should know, someone he's supposed to care for. But he can't see what they look like, no matter how hard he tries to remember or focus on it, he just… can't. Sometimes that blur of features that he tries to looks at haunts him almost… but also I can imagine that these dreams can turn to nightmares, maybe…
The blur of a face turns into an amalgamation of the people he cares for, Merle, Magnus, Angus, Kravitz, melting into features and voices surrounding his head. He can't tell what they're saying. They're just… loud. They reach out to him, trying to pull him into this mess, Before he wakes up.
Who was it?

JustIn from the Beyond!
Do I have plans for this? Yes! Do I have time to make them happen any time soon? Debatable! So you can have what'll hopefully be the first chapter, as a treat. -
Kravitz frowned down at his phone, double checking the address from the email was the same spot the map app had led him to. The office block in front of him didn’t seem like the kind of place that would contain Justin From the Beyond: your direct line to the spirit world, he was expecting some kind of difficult to find Victorian building, not a grey box with wildly unhelpful company names like Loccarion, Applewell, and Plaxistics on the sign. People in suits kept striding past him doing what he could only assume were important business things. Actually, scratch that, they all had a whiff of stock market about them, so maybe not that important. In fact, with that in mind, the location made a lot more sense - ghosts were a lie and so were stocks, of course they were in the same building. Maybe he could try and get an interview with some of them for his next block of episodes… no, one job at the time. He was a nightmare for dropping projects for the next fancy idea, but this week he was fighting ghosts, next week he could take down the stock market.
He glanced down once more, just to be sure, and the map pin stayed resolutely in front of him, definitely no GPS wizardry, this was the right place. It had taken him 10 months to get this appointment so obviously he’d shown up two and a half hours early. By the time Kravitz accounted for traffic, his own disorganisation, and the possibility of unreported strikes, break downs, and walking at half pace from the very furthest possible station in the city (‘just in case’ he missed four other stops) he might have slightly overestimated his actual travel time. He couldn’t leave though, if he went to grab a drink or something time would disappear and he’d end up late. Better to just stay put. In fact, if he could sit in the waiting room he might even be able to get an idea of the other clientele, all good background for his report. Flawless planning, every inch of it on purpose.
Kravitz gave himself a critical once over in the window, smoothed his long woollen coat, put on his very best business face, and headed inside. The email had instructed him to head to the 13th floor. Kravitz rolled his eyes when he read it - although on reflection, it was impressive dedication, it must have taken an age to find a building which actually had one. Oh, maybe the rent was cheaper because of the luck thing? He made a quick note in his phone to look into it - spooky aesthetic, money saver, or both? Probably both, Justin was smart, he marketed well, was consistently in demand, and somehow every public review was positive - regardless of where it was posted.
Sure, Kravitz could have investigated any old grifter and done it much faster, but the cons with a veneer of legitimacy were his actual targets. Most people knew that the bloke on the street corner offering you a direct line to death for a few dollars wasn’t likely to be the real deal - at least he wasn’t exploiting people as much. Justin though? This guy had a massive waiting list and prices to match. Most people could only dream of getting an appointment, let alone three. Thankfully Kravitz could afford it and the revenue from the episodes should more than cover the cost. Kravitz, of course, tried to keep his ethics intact but it was hard to turn down ads when they let him break stories that helped. If keeping people safe meant he occasionally had to extol the benefits of certain underwear brands or enthusiastically tell his listeners about his pubic grooming regime then sobeit.
The display ticked from twelve to thirteen, the lift binged pleasantly, and the doors slid smoothly open. Kravtiz stepped straight into a waiting area, “News JustIn!” was scrawled across a banner facing the lift, a ghostly phone cord underlined the writing. He’d clearly escaped faceless, corporate McBusinessland.
“Welcome to Justin from the Great Beyond, handsome. How can I help you out today?” The receptionist asked from behind an ornate wooden desk which appeared to rest on chicken legs, the work on the feathers was exquisite and Kravitz only tore himself away from admiring the craftsmanship to admire the man behind the desk instead. The receptionist was perched on a dusky pink cocktail chair which clashed marvellously with the fluffy mustard carpet (the kind Kravitz would love to bury his toes in). The receptionist was long and lean, clean shaven and his eyeliner was smudged just enough that Kravitz couldn’t tell if it was on purpose or not. His roots were showing, there was a gap in his front teeth, and Kravitz thought he might possibly be the most beautiful man he’d ever met. Before he could talk himself out of following that line of thought, the receptionist noticed Kravitz’s roaming eyes and winked lasciviously. Was Kravitz allowed to flirt on the job. Probably not? He’d better check with HR… He was HR and it was very important that he made the man call him handsome again.
“I have an appointment with Justin, my name’s Dante Bellefleur.”
“Ah yes, Mr…” The receptionist paused and side eyed him. “...Bellefleur. You aren’t booked in for a while, are you happy to wait?”
“Of course, I was so worried about being late that I made it a little bit early instead.”
The receptionist snorted loudly and Kravitz glared before he could stop himself. Fuck, he couldn’t be sulky at work, that was how he lost opportunities. This guy could get him booted and it had taken enough effort to get this appointment, falling at the final hurdle because he couldn’t take a bit of light mocking would be mortifying. At least if the guy was going to mock him Kravitz could write off the flirting. He tried to settle his expression to something more neutral and looked anywhere but at the man behind the desk… which was a shame because even if the guy was a prick he was nice to look at. Maybe he could sneak a few glances as he waited? It was perfectly reasonable to occasionally look at the other person in the room.
Kravitz spent a few more moments staring placidly at the wall before subtly shifting in his chair and looking quickly towards the desk. Taako looked right back at him, Kravitz hurriedly looked away again and focused on retrieving his book from his bag. He could just chill out here, see if anyone else came in, see what Taako actually did.
It turned out that the answer to that question was ‘Not Much.’ Every time Kravitz glanced over Taako had moved slightly, knee tucked up under his chin, one leg splayed out and the other curled under him, legs crossed under him. Every time Kravitz glanced over Taako noticed and smiled his handsome smile right back. Kravitz knew he should say something, but he didn’t know where to start. All he wanted to do was get a good long look at the other man. Instead he had to focus on his book, which of course was one he was reading for show and not enjoyment. After a painful hour in which he made it through three pages, retained none of it, and pointedly avoided looking at the man directly, Kravitz tried again.
The receptionist was now sideways, legs slung up on one arm of the chair, and, worse than improper use of furniture, he grinned wide and wiggled his fingers at Kravitz as if he’d been waiting for this. “So, come here often, kemosabe?”
“You’re the receptionist.” Kravitz replied flatly. “Wouldn’t you recognise me if I did?” Was this some kind of trap?
“Great point… So what’s a guy like you doin’ in a nice place like this?”
“The same thing as everyone else I imagine.” Kravitz’s tone remained placid and polite but if this guy wanted to get under his skin he was certainly doing a good job of it. He could smile his stupid lovely smile all he wanted, but that was outright rude. Sure, Kravitz was accustomed to this - personal insults weren’t uncommon when your job was uncovering dirty secrets, but that usually came after he’d been busted not before. Usually at that point he could give back as good as he got, but this guy might not even know what he was part of. There was no way he could retaliate though, he had to be on his best behaviour until he’d got what he needed, and that included not snarking or sulking. He took a moment to stamp out the sparks of irritation that ignited in his gut and decided to attempt redirection, may as well get some information out of this exchange. “Although, having said that, what’s the main reason people come?”
“Conversation with yours truly, mostly.” The receptionist replied. He slid a drawer open, slapped a magnetic badge on (Kravitz didn’t have any thoughts about the swathe of brown skin this motion revealed), then tapped it. “Taako Taco, here to blow your mind before Justin gets the chance to.” He wriggled until he was sat cross legged again, uncapped what looked to be a sparkly gel pen, and started doodling on the desk planner. Kravitz wasn’t sure if he hated or envied him - how much did this gig pay? It wasn’t like the phone was ringing off the hook. In fact, he couldn’t actually see one on the desk. “Is that why you’re here, Dante, to be blown away?” They made eye contact about that comment, they made eye contact about it really hard. Maybe he should look at a sexual harassment angle for the episode, but honestly, he had stared at the guy so much that he didn’t have a leg to stand on. He was going to choose to believe this treatment was specifically for him and not the usual experience clients had, certainly none of the extensive reviews had mentioned it.
“I’m here to get the answer to some questions I have.” That was true, he wasn’t going to lie if he could help it… well, any more than he had already, but there was only so much you could do when you were the first google result for ‘Kravitz’. “Have you ever…” Kravitz trailed off.
“There isn’t much Taako hasn’t done.” He uncapped another few pens and switched between them as he doodled.
Kravitz wanted to see what he was drawing, Taako was concentrating so intently that his brow furrowed and Kravitz needed to know what was important enough to make that happen. More importantly, he needed to stop staring, he needed to remember that Taako was ridiculous and rude and bold and terrible at customer service. This wasn’t someone he should be interested in, Taako was hot as fuck and he knew it, he was conceited and unkind. That wasn’t what Kravitz wanted.
“Spotted something interesting, Dante?” Taako had stopped drawing. He’d stopped drawing because Kravitz was staring right at Taako and Taako had noticed and fuck this was going badly. It was fine, he could fix it.
“I was admiring your name badge.” Kravitz said, gesturing at the incredibly ordinary badge with zero distinguishing features to offer any follow up on.
“Uh huh. Which aspect?” Taako didn’t resume drawing, of course he didn’t. Instead he smirked and waited patiently for an answer, the bastard. He knew why Kravitz was staring at him and sure it took a lot of bravery to investigate crime and put yourself in compromising positions with dodgy people; but telling a guy he was hot and you’d quite like to get into some compromising positions with him? Absolutely not. Especially not when that guy was doing his job - no matter how loose that concept seemed to be for Taako.
“The typeface.” The fucking typeface? “It’s satisfying to look at.” Just like the guy wearing it. This was fine. “I wasn’t bold enough to say it before, but I think I’m justified.”
Taako looked horrified. “Did you just…? Bad, terrible, illegal.” He paused for a moment and Kravitz felt anxiety bubbling in his gut. He was trying to make things better, but maybe puns would be what got him kicked out, not his snarky attitude. Then Taako continued drawing. “I’m going to have to do a citizen’s arrest because right now we’re Sans Sheriff.” Oh, oh okay, Kravitz could work with this.
“Oh no, did the last one experience some hard Times?” That earned Kravitz a long glare.
“Don’t make me curse…ive” Taako grimaced even as he said it.
Kravitz snorted. “Well now who’s going to pun jail?” Taako was hot, Taako was interesting, Taako was willing to play in this stupid space with him. Kravitz wanted to take him out then take him home. Could he just ask Taako out? It didn’t have to be weird. “Hey, can we go on a date, also I’m using a fake name and I’m probably going to be the reason you lose your job because I’m here to expose your employer as a con artist…” Maybe it had to be a bit weird. Kravitz should at least wait until this was over. If he did that Taako might appreciate his integrity? Surely he’d understand why the fake name was necessary. He’d think Kravitz’s dedication to doing the right thing was sexy. Obviously. Just like all his other boyfriends who were definitely still with him and didn’t break up with him because he was too busy doing the right thing and being boring.
“The view’s gonna be good at least, Taako could do some rotting in a cell if you we…” He stopped mid sentence and noticeably clammed up. As if this was the point where Taako decided he had professional boundaries, Kravitz wanted to know where that was going. Did he mean Kravitz would be a good view to see? Good company to be stuck in pun jail with? If Taako thought that then Kravitz could definitely ask him to dinner. Taako stood abruptly, knocking one of his pens off the desk and abandoning it to the floor. “What are you waiting for, kemosabe? I thought you were desperate for your appointment with Justin.” Taako didn’t look at him, just walked towards the door in the corner of the room. Kravitz had no idea what just happened, he didn’t even say anything, was he doing something weird with his face? Looking too eager? It was bang on his appointment time, so maybe Taako just had to be really prompt? Maybe this Justin guy was a horrible boss? If that was the case Taako would surely give him an interview for the podcast. He’d definitely understand why Kravitz had to lie if Justin was treating him poorly. He might even be a little bit grateful for Kravitz’s intervention!
Taako cracked open the door and slipped inside without looking back. Kravitz reached to push the door wider and follow, but paused. He didn’t know what was going on, but it felt wrong. He didn’t want Taako to be in trouble, but he also didn’t want to leave him upset. Kravitz quickly doubled back to the desk and picked up the gel pen from the floor - it was gold and glittery and boy if that wasn’t Taako all over. Kravitz quickly scribbled out a note on the jotter. “Sorry if I overstepped, it was lovely to meet you Taako.” He placed the pen neatly on the desk and, feeling mildly absolved, walked into Justin’s office.
Sat with his legs kicked up on the desk was a man wearing the most ridiculously elaborate wizard hat he’d ever seen. The brim was strung with rows of tiny stars and pom poms, there was an iridescent sheen to the fabric, and a spindly moon charm hung from the crooked peak. The hat was new, but the face it did very little to obscure was familiar.
“Taako? What’s going on? Is there a problem?”
“Nope, you’re here to have a natter with the world beyond, I’m your guy.”
“But you’re Taako.”
“Nope. I’m definitely Justin.”
“You just said your name was Taako?”
“And you said your name was Dante. Apparently that’s what we’re doing here.” Kravitz didn’t flinch, but he didn’t say anything either. He waited an incredibly normal amount of time while the gears in his brain turned. This was a puzzle, he loved puzzles, he could solve puzzles. Sure, no one had ever questioned him so directly before, and okay, he didn’t really have a plan for this. Why didn’t he have a plan for this? Stupid, stupid overconfident prick. There was something about fake names, pride, and infernos in this, but he wasn’t calm enough to make the joke right now. Thank the goddess that Taako didn’t know who he actually was.
“So, Krav, are you going to call me Taako, or will Justin call you Dante?”
Fuck.

@blupjeansweek day 6: Family
[ID: A digital illustration of the seven birds from the adventure zone chilling in a pillow and blanket fort.
Lup is a tan skinned elven woman with dark brown hair done up in two buns with bun covers. She is wearing circular glasses, an oversized shirt with the IPRE symbol on it, and cookie-monster print PJ pants and is holding a mug decorated with cheezy flames and is sitting in Barry’s lap. Barry is a fat pale skinned human man with short brown hair and rectangular glasses, wearing a weezer shirt, boxers with prints of tiny pairs of jeans on them, and is holding a green mug with the face of a creeper from minecraft printed on it. He looks over at Taako, a tan skinned elven man with brown choppy hair dyed lavender halfway down and wearing a face mask, head band and a purple house coat, who has one hand on Barry’s shoulder while the other reaches for a box of cookies Magnus is holding out of reach, a frustrated look on his face. Magnus is a dark skinned heavily built human man with straight choppy black hair and black sideburns, wearing a tank top with the gravity falls pine tree symbol on it and red plaid-print PJ pants. In his free hand he holds a beige mug printed with Polynesian artwork stylized fish, as he leans away from Taako and pushes him away with his other foot.
Davenport is a pale skinned lightly built gnome with cochlear implants, short ginger hair and a large ginger mustache, and wearing navy-blue star-print PJs, who sits calmly in front of Magnus, painting his nails and looking up at the commotion. In front of Davenport is Merle, a dark skinned chubby dwarven man who lays splayed on a pillow, his eyes closed, grey hair in a bun and medium beard well groomed, holding a mug depicting a potted plant wearing lingerie and wearing two-piece PJs printed with cannabis leafs. Across from the two is Lucrecia, a dark skinned human woman with medium length black curly hair wearing rectangular glasses, a pink shirt with a cat on it, purple PJ pants, a wrist brace, and holding a mug with the lesbian flag on it. She also looks over at the commotion, smiling softly.
In the background, decorative strings of lights illuminate a fort of pillows, blankets, and couch cushions. END]

Forgiveness
A/N: Recently I've listened to TAZ and I'm literally obsessed with it and this idea has been haunting my mind so I'm going to share it with you.
Summary: It's been a few months since everything, since the day of story and song, and Taako finds himself struggling with forgiveness. Specifically forgiving Lucretia.
Genre: Fluff to Angst
Taako Taaco, Lup Taaco, Barry Bluejeans, Lucretia.
Word Count:  3,738 words 20,247 characters
It was a few weeks after the Hunger, an entity that was defeated after a century, after years of running and fighting it, they finally crushed it. Of course, it took so long, but they didn’t do it alone. So many people, hand in hand, fought the Hunger and through trial and error and many close calls, it was finally gone.
After some weeks had passed, days of repairs and recovery from such a battle, and days after Lup had gotten her body back, they took a moment to just relax. It would be a day in which they could take a break from the tiring work of rebuilding that was destroyed. Some people took it, some people didn’t, but two of the people who did decide to let themselves lean back were Taako and Lup. Two elves who were jumping at the opportunity to lounge away in a laziness that they haven’t been able to have in so so long, and definitely not with one another.
As it finally settled down, as they were speaking of even hanging out with one another, it actually hit them that... they were here. With one another. It was so surreal but it was ... real. It was true to god happening, they were in front of each other. Rightfully reunited.
As Taako puts together a picnic basket for his and his sister’s day of hanging out, it reminded him so vividly of the day in the century. He had only recently remembered, the perfect day that she requested of him. Every moment of that day played in his mind as he put this together... and he couldn’t express enough how thankful that that day was back, burned in his memory, never wanting to forget it again.
A smile would move to his lips, curling at the corners of his mouth as he ran the soft fabric of the blanket he had picked out. It wasn’t anything special, nothing that was close to heart or familiar, but it was soft. A soft material that brushed along his skin, something that was so comforting and ... wonderfully calming. He didn’t know why, but the feeling, he knew, Lup would love too.
Speaking of which, the sound of a whistle would echo through the kitchen, where he was setting up the basket, from his sister’s lips. Turning to look at her, raising an eyebrow high on his forehead at her, he’d let out a soft laugh.
“Isn’t this familiar, huh?” Lup would place a hand on her hip with a grin. She’d walk up next to Taako and placed her own hand to rest on the blanket, her eyebrows raising in response. Her smile only seemed to grow as she face planted into the soft fabric, running her hands all over the threads.
“What the hell! This is so damn soft, where did you find it?!” Taako would shrug at the other’s question, a knowing grin on his lips as he turned from the basket and went to go grab something from the fridge. His sister would scoff, playfully, as she sat right back up.
“You totally had this the entire time, didn’t you! You can’t just keep such a wonderful blanket away from me.” She wraps her arm around his tugging on it with scrunched up features. They both couldn’t help but let out laughs, laughs that warmed them both up right to the soul, laughs that were so familiar, that hadn’t escaped them like this in such a long time.
Taako would press his hand against her cheek, pushing her away and dusting himself off with a smirk. He’d grab what he wanted from the fridge and moved it into the woven basket and took it by the handle.
“If you think about it, I haven’t, you’ve always been there when I had it technically!” A joke that was the slightest bit morbid, but the twins had decided that they were long enough from the event that they were totally going to joke about. Lup would let out a snicker and rolled her eyes as she crossed her arms over her chest.
“Whatever! I was inside an umbrella staff you goofass, that doesn’t count.” She leaned forward towards him and scrunched up her features some. Taako would glance over to her and would mock her motions, leaning forward with a mischievous smirk. Cocking an eyebrow at him in confusion, Lup opened her mouth to question her brother before he brought his fingers up to her forehead, flicking her. Recoiling back from the attack that her brother so rudely brought upon her, she pressed a hand up to her head and grumbled.
“You know, I could just not come with you!” Playful words she didn’t mean and Taako knew that. He rolled his eyes at her and would begin walking past as he spoke.
“And miss my food? Yeah, right. Come on nerd, we’ve got a picnic to get to!”
It didn’t take long for the two siblings to find the place they wished to set up, upon the top of a grassy hill that looked out upon the world they had saved with all of their friends and family. As the sun sets slowly in the sky, painting the sky with oranges, reds, and pinks, beautiful colors that they watched with one another. It was nice.
“It’s been so long ...” These words slipped from Lup’s lips, a soft smile on her lightened lips from the sun that casted it’s rays down on them. She didn’t seem to finish her sentence and Taako would look at her, raising an eyebrow.
“Since we’ve watched a sunset together? Yeah no shit, homeslice, you’ve been trapped in my- our? Whatever, in an umbrastaff!” Lup would laugh, elbowing her brother in the arm as she shook her head. She would grab a sandwich from the picnic basket that Taako had provided for them and began to unwrap it.
“Since we’ve done ... anything together..! I really can’t believe I’m back.” She leaned into her brother, putting a head on his shoulder and closed her eyes. She took a big bite of the sandwich as she continued to speak with a muffled voice,
    “Thanks Taako.”
Taako was confused at first. His eyebrows furrowed some as he would leaned his own head on hers,
“Thanks... for what exactly, Lup?” He questioned her, staring out at the sky that stayed illuminated with the sun that set against the horizon. She moved her gaze to look up at him and let out a small snicker.
“For letting me out? What else, you doofus?” She was smiling but as her eyes would scan her brother’s features and her eyebrows couldn’t help furrow at the sight before her. Taako looked... almost frustrated but when his eyes would catch her looking at him, his features soon relaxed.
“I wouldn’t thank me for that of all things, Lups, it was hard not to let you out with you sending out fucking fire balls everywhere. Couldn’t let little Ango get hurt or anything.” He would poke at her, causing her to sit up. He leans back, resting his arms behind him to keep him from falling. Even as he allows himself to relax, or even seem relaxed, Lup couldn’t help but be worried for her brother.
“Well, I guess you did say that you totally knew I was in there the entire time, so maybe I shouldn’t thank you. You could have definitely let me out so long ago.” A tease lingered in her tone, a smirk moved to her lips as she began poking at his arm. He snickered and tilted his head over to her taking a deep breath and for a moment, he just stared at her. Staring back, she raised an eyebrow at him before opening her mouth to question what he was doing but before she could even let out a single word, he pulled her into a tight embrace.
It was warm. It was comforting. It was something they both had longed for from each other and didn’t truly realize it until they were actually in one another’s arms once again. He thought about his words on that day of story and song, that day of pain and darkness, but also that day of remembrance and rejoice. ‘I have nothing, and I don’t give a shit.’ Those words, anger and venom coursed through each vowel, each letter, each syllable, but after all was said and done he found it to be the exact opposite. It was ironic, really, because now he had everything he could really ever want and he cared so much. For Kravitz, for his friends, for Lup, he never wanted to give any of them up ever again.
      And he didn’t have to.
As Lup would let go from the hold, he would wipe the tears from his eyes that began to water. Soft chuckles escaped from both of the twins and they decided to lean back, laying down on the soft blanket that cushioned them.
“I’m glad your back.” Taako would say, causing Lup to let out a long, relaxed breath from her lips as she spoke.
    “I’m glad to be back.”
And they lay there for what seemed like hours, watching as the sun set and a darkness fell over the sky, decorated in twinkling lights. Lup was the first one to get up, putting out her hand to her brother who quickly accepted it and stood with her. It wasn’t long before they began packing up and Taako let out a soft yawn, beginning to walk down the hill side, ready to go home. Lup caught up to him in seconds, now walking next to him with a smile on her lips as she decided to ask her brother a question.
“Do you think we could do this again tomorrow? Just... hang out and shit?” She would place her hands to rest gently on the back of her head, fingers entangled together as her gaze danced around the sky. Taako moves his gaze to stare at her, raising an eyebrow,
“You expect me to make all of this again? Hm, I dunno Lup, that’s a lotta work for such a busy guy like me. A tease rested in his throat as he spoke and she’d gently push him with her elbow,
“You don’t gotta do the whole picnic shebang, Taako. I just like hanging out with you. Like. In person instead of having to watch you from an umbrella.” She would scrunch up her features into a playful expression while Taako would look at her with an smirk,
“Sure! We can hang out again, not a problem at all sis. But I’m not bringing the blanket. It has enough fucking grass on it already.” He’d tug at the blanket that sat on his sister’s arms that was indeed covered in strands of green grass. Lup let out a puppy dog like whine, crossing her arms over her chest, trapping the cover into her arms. He rolls his eyes at her and they continue their trek back to the moon base.
It was the next day, a beautiful, sunny day and Lup and Taako decided that their hang out today wouldn’t just be sibling time, but time for anyone who wanted to make it. Magnus and Merle were busy though, he made sure to ask, with Merle hanging out with his kids instead of being some dead beat dad and Magnus starting some training thing. He didn’t ask much when it came to details, but he simply knew that the two of them would be busy. He had no idea if Lup would bring anyone besides Barry, but that guy was a definite in a group hangout. Not that he was complaining, he loved Barry Bluejeans, and he knew that Lup loved him even more.
With his most casual outfit that still found itself to be incredibly flashy, he made his way into a tavern that his sister and him decided to meet at. Running his hands down his waist, straightening out any wrinkles, his gaze would glide across the room before it fell on a familiar face, Barry Bluejeans from across the room. His smirk turned into a grin as he strutted over, sitting down next to his close friend,
“Lup’s gettin’ some drinks for us. She’ll be back any minute.” Barry would say, giving Taako a nod and quickly knowing what question he would ask before he was able to speak. The wizard would chuckle, rolling his eyes playfully as he rested an elbow on the hard, wooden table and rested his chin on the palm of his hand.
“So how have you been man, I’ve seen you around here and there, but we’ve been lacking on conversation. How’s the life after everything?” Barry was always good at getting a conversation going, and while Taako wasn’t not, Barry just happened to beat him to the punch.
“Just fine my dude! Kravitz and I have been hanging out a lot more, if that wasn’t obvious, and honestly have just been chillaxing.” He leaned back, just a bit as he rested his arm on the table he sat at and was going to ask Barry the same question, he was interrupted by his sister’s voice.
“I’m back you two! And look who I brought along.” She spoke in a slightly sing-song voice and as Taako turned his head, his eyes widened at who was there. Lucretia. His body tensed and his features scrunched up some before he glanced away, down to look at his hands. It didn’t seem to go noticed as Lucretia and Lup sat at the table, placing down a few cups of water that she had obtained, just like she said she would.
For a while, they just had small conversation, catching up and Taako made sure to hop in every now and then, without the usual sass he has when talking to friends. Now this didn’t go unnoticed, a few worried glances from his sister and even Lucretia every now and then, but no one really dared to say something. They knew that, especially here of all places, that he was not going to talk about it.
After a while, Taako couldn’t help but space out some, taking drinks of his water every now and then as he just listened. But it quickly turned into him not at all paying attention, his mind wandering to something else. As his gaze shifted around the table, his eyes would land on Lucretia, biting the inside of his cheek. Once more, his mind went back to the day of Story and Song and the words he spoke. ‘You fucking took everything from me!’ After drinking the liquid from the void fish, after remembering that his sister even existed, rage quickly built up inside him. Rage for the one who put them through this, rage for the person who took, as he said, everything away from him. He remembered how Magnus hugged her, how Merle forgave her, how Lup shook everything off with such ease.
He could never forgive her so quickly.
Pain ached in his heart as he thought about it, all the years he was alone, without his sister and without anyone by his side. He went through so much pain by himself when he could have been with the one he cared for the most.
Once more, just as before, anger would start to burn in him. Not the same kind of rage that caused him to point the umbra staff at Lucretia, but still an anger that lays on the surface of his skin. How unfortunate it would be that this is how he felt as his mind snapped back to what the other’s were discussing.
“How’s the bureau, Luce? You’ve been hard at work about it right, you know since you guys are changing it and everything.” Barry would take Lup’s hand under the table as he spoke, looking over to the director. She waved her hand with a nervous laugh escaping her dark lips, giving the other a closed eyed smile as she responded.
“As good as it can. Repurposing an entire organization isn’t an easy task. Embarrassingly enough, we actually happen to be delayed at the moment because of some technical issues. From the repairs to the base as well as the moving of different structures... well let’s just say I’m not exactly the best handyman.” She spoke sheepishly as she rested a hand to the back of her neck. After everything, she had been able to relax more, take some time to not just be a director but help out where she can in other places. Lup would raise her eyebrows at the other and tilted her head some, her hair falling with the action.
“What happened?” She’d question, and in response Lucretia would shake her head, at first not wanting to explain but decided to go about it anyways.
“While talking to Lucas and Angus, we were walking and ran into someone who was carrying some heavy boxes and it ended up knocking over some scaffolding. No one was hurt, It was just incredibly embarrassing.”
As she spoke, Taako’s glare didn’t fall short, and his next sentence was dripping with malice and anger, frustrated that Lucretia could be so relaxed, so okay with everything happening. . . Sure, he was doing alright, but he strongly believed that... at least right now she really didn’t deserve it. He didn’t mean to be so rude, he should have kept his mouth shut, but he spoke anyways.
“Why not just make them forget it even happened? You seem pretty good at that.” He spoke, leaning back. His words were quick to get a reaction out of ... all of them. Barry’s eyes widened, Lucretia’s eyes softened with worry and her features scrunched up in guilt, and Lup... she looked frustrated at her brother.
“Taako! What the fuck!” Lup would exclaim, placing her hands flat on the table as she glared at him.
“No, it’s ... alright Lup,” Lucretia would wave her hand dismissively at her friend and the elf’s gaze would dart over to her,
“It’s really fucking not-!” She was interrupted by the director, putting her hand up to stop the girl from going off on her brother. Her attention was soon turned towards Taako who was staring down his sister.
“Taako, I understand ... you were the one hurt the most after everything and I truly apologize for my actions. I know what I did was wrong, but ... everything is okay now, isn’t it?” She wasn’t trying to justify her actions, she knew better than anyone as the guilt sat in her chest like a boulder pushing into her heart, but even so, Taako did not appreciate her words.
“Okay...? Okay?! No! Fuck no it isn’t, Lucretia! You don’t understand anything, actually, no matter how much you say it, you will never understand how much you took from me because of some selfish fucking decision!” He stood, slamming his hands down on the table as he was quick to fume up. Barry and Lup stood in response, trying their best to calm Taako down, but he wouldn’t budge. Lucretia went to open her mouth, to say something to the other but she was interrupted by the wizard as angry tears began welding up in his eyes.
“It was a mistake staying here, I should have left right as I saw you.” He pushed his chair out from under him and stormed off, moving away from the table quickly and towards the exit of the tavern. Lup let out a sigh, furrowing her eyebrows, saying something about going after him and doing just that.
She followed him outside where he was standing in front of the left corner of the tavern, his arms crossed as he stared down at the muddied grown below him. As they were in there, it had began to rain, and now he was standing out in the darkness that formed from the grey clouds blocking the sun. Frustration and pity was painted on Lup’s features as she began to approach the angry, saddened Taako who wouldn’t dare look at his sister.
“You dingus, if you were uncomfortable, you should have told me. I didn’t think you were so frustrated about all of this still...” Lup would stand next to him, folding her hands neatly in front of herself, leaning forward to look at his features. Using the bottom of his palm, he wiped the tears from his light colored eyes, and turned his head away from her,
“I wasn’t going to interrupt you when you were obviously having a good time, Lups. I should have just left when I had the chance.” He refused to apologize, though while he wanted to, something in his gut just wouldn’t let him. His sister was going to say something else to him, but was distracted by the bell that sounded from the door of the tavern opening. They both allowed their gazes to dance over, but when Taako saw who it was he quickly turned away. Lucretia, and soon followed by Barry, walked out into the rain in front of the two elves.
“Taako, you never have to forgive me, I can accept that. And I know I’ve said it so many times, but I’ll say it as many as I have to. I’m truly, deeply sorry for what I have done, for what I have put you and your friends through. I will rewrite my wrongs, I promise, no matter how long it takes.” She didn’t wait for a response. She turned from the twins and began walking back towards the B.o.B. Barry and Lup looked at the woman with worry then back over to Taako who too was watching as she walked away. He bit his tongue as so many emotions washed over him. Guilt, anger, frustration, worry... all for Lucretia. Balling his fists, he turned the opposite way that the director was walking with only a few words escaping his lips.
    “I should go.”
He too wouldn’t wait from a response from the two who were left standing. Adjusting his hat, and wrapping his arms around himself, he would walk without much of any destination in mind. Lucretia and Taako, walking away back to back, relationship yet to be mended.

Hi @thekingkez I got you for the @thecandlenightszone gift exchange! Here is a cuddle pile of Taako/Magnus/Kravitz. I think I may have accidentally drew Kravitz as a short king there, but I hope you like it!

I’m re-listening to TAZ and how Griffin resolved Taako’s taco quest because like... griffin could’ve easily brushed it off, he could’ve even put it as like an epilogue piece, but Justin made it clear that the most important thing that Taako would ever do is make this world’s first taco, so what does griffin do? Make it so Taako completing the taco quest by bringing information from one plane into his own was the first thing to break the seal between locked planes during an attack from the hunger allowing him to siphon enough energy from the plane of magic to save kravitz and fight back against the hunger.
Now that’s what I call DM/player plot collaboration

Lies on the ground. You ever think about Taako’s “fully realized creation” speech in the context of him missing half his own memories. You ever think about how Lup WAS his go-to for honest emotional difficulty and conversation. My sweet my love my darling you are a cracked and pillaged creation missing one of your cornerstones.

15 for the writing game and you fucking KNOW it's blupjeans
The prompts are from this list and I’m still taking suggestions (although they might be a bit slow!)
Object: Denim jacket with bleach-painted bone motif Emotions: Totally Chill, Nothing Can Prove Otherwise and Can’t stop humming love songs
Of course I didn’t make the playlist, that would be ridiculous. (I did in fact make the playlist. Here you go!)
-
“Lup, hey, hey Lup. What the fuck?” Taako lets her headphone snap back against her ear and gives her The Look that means he thinks she’s being insane. She’s not, so there.
She puts down the paintbrush and pushes her headphones down round her neck. “What?”
“Lulu, sister mine, you’re humming stupid loud, everything smells of bleach, and it’s arse o’clock. Are you good? Do I need to go find the emergency conditioning treatment again?” Taako grabs her jaw and turns her head side to side and looks for signs of crispy hair. Lup pretends to bite him but doesn’t connect, because, well, fair. It wouldn’t be the first time and it’ll probably happen again, but this time it’s different. He of little faith!
“I’m doing art, Taako.”
“Uh huh. 2am art?”
“I’m feeling creative. You can’t dictate when that happens.”
“Can I dictate that you create quietly? Taako needs to sleep.” He leans himself over her back, tucking his head onto her shoulder and Lup nuzzles him slightly with her head. She almost forgets he’s a feral goblin until he pretends to snore loudly in her ear.
“Gross, gerrof Goofus!”
“I will if you promise to stop listening to your Barry playlist while you make… whatever this is?”
Lup definitely doesn’t choke on her own spit, and if she does then that’s definitely why she was red, nothing to do with the mention of Barry’s name, thank you so much. She was nothing but incredibly normal about him. Professionally normal, in fact. Sometimes you made playlists about the guys you reaped souls with. That was super normal. Sure, she didn’t have a Kravitz playlist, but that was just because… he was her boss. It’d be weird if it was her boss, but Barry wasn’t, so it was fine.
“It’s a rad skull jacket, I’m bleach painting thank you so much, and I’m not listening to my Barry playlist!” Lup realises her mistake a minute too late as Taako cackles gleefully and swipes for her phone. Lup knocks it out of his reach and adds “...which I don’t have, and that’s why I’m not listening to it, because you can’t listen to something that doesn’t exist, Taako.” Nailed it, perfect, this was gonna be fine.
“Uh huh. Then you won’t mind showing me what you’re listening to then will you?”
Lup couldn’t show Taako her phone. For reasons. Ones unrelated to the Reap Me Baby One More time playlist she definitely wasn’t listening to and didn’t in any way relate to Barold. “No.” Oh, yeah, great, Taako was definitely going to take no for an answer, that was a thing he did, especially when he could already smell blood in the water.
He darts round her before she can knock the phone even further away. “Good luck, Goofus. It’s locked.”
Taako turns and gives her a disparaging look before removing his glasses and holds up the phone. “We’re twins, idiot.” He says as her stupid traitor phone unlocks itself. “Ooooh, interesting. Just some platonic songs. Platonically stupid for you, a classic. Love you madly… platonically; I want you to want me in a friend way though. All fine and normal.”
Lup doesn’t say anything, she grabs her brush and ignores the prickling feeling of tears building behind her eyes. It’s fine, Taako’s just teasing, he doesn’t mean anything by it. She’ll just finish painting her skull jacket and Kravitz won’t even be able to complain about denim being unprofessional because it’ll be super rad and she can say it’s a portrait of him. He’s always susceptible to flattery.
“Hey, Lulu.” Taako slots himself back over her shoulder. “You should just tell him you know? Barold’s head over heels for you.”
“Taako, I don’t want to talk about it.”
“Okay, fine, don’t listen to your older, wiser, more beautiful brother.”
Lup jiggles her shoulder to try and get him off, but he sticks like a limpet. Fine, fine, if he’s not going anywhere then he can at least be a pillow about it. Lup rests her head against his. “I’ll tell him one day… probably.”
“You’d better. Also, you’re making another one of these.” Taako reaches over to tug the sleeve of the jacket very gently. “I’m adding diamante.”
Lup rolls her eyes, and finishes off the design. Maybe she can text Barry and ask if he wants to go for a drink after work tomorrow? He’ll definitely know that it’s different to all the other times they’ve been for after work drinks before…
