N. she's back yay. when i say i'd love to elaborate the shit out of this and write a very long fic

falling for sunghoon was an enormous mistake.

no, it’s not that he’s your rival. in fact, sunghoon is nice. he takes the subway to university with you everyday despite living on the whole other side of the city. he sends you notes if you ever miss a class without even asking, drops by with your favourite snacks and drinks with little notes that remind you to stay hydrated. park sunghoon is actually very nice. so, falling for him was inevitable.

however, despite all his good qualities, sunghoon keeps breaking your heart.

it all started during the freshmen year. sunghoon called you in the middle of the night, telling you that he finally has a girlfriend as oh god, you’ve never wanted to bang your head against the wall so bad. the second time was when she broke up with him, saying you made her insecure, and all sunghoon did was tell you to maintain a distance. it didn’t make sense, really. it’s not your fault that his girlfriend was insecure of how close you and sunghoon are.

that year was the worst. you cried yourself to sleep most of the nights. but you let that slide.

his second girlfriend was nice, though. she shared everything with you. her notes, her jewellery if you liked any of them, her boyfriend, and how she kisses him and it feels like heaven dropped to her feet, how she wakes up in his arms everyday, how she is the one he loves— everything; even the details you didn’t want to know.

but you let this one slide too, knowing they wouldn’t last. after all, you’ve been his friend for over ten years now. you know him better than anyone else.

his third girlfriend though— wait, before he started dating his third girlfriend, you confessed to him. god, you still don’t know where you got the confidence from but you do deserve an award for presenting a majestic confession, knowing he would say yes because, there’s no way he would reject, right? after all the years spent together, all the nights you've cradled him in your arms as he sobbed about heart breaks, all the nights he has spent next to you after horror movie sessions, sunghoon has to be in love with you. that was the only plausible explanation. however, you were wrong. not only did sunghoon reject you and threw the bouquet you brought for him, stepping over the damned flowers, he also had the audacity to introduce you to his third girlfriend just the next day with a smile you’ve only ever seen when he’s with this friends. it was probably even brighter than that but you could care less.

you were done. not to mention his third girlfriend was the witch. the mother of all, manipulator is training, professional gaslighter and one heck of a pretentious bitch. the worst part was, sunghoon is blindly in love with her. so blind that she told him she was sick and he took a week off his part time job, turns out it was just her monthly cycle. she told him she feels lonely and he booked a three days four night travel package to chuncheon.

and now that she’s reciting him erroneous tales about how you tried to threaten her, telling her to break up with him, you’re waiting for sunghoon to say something instead of standing in middle of parking lot, looking like a mannequin.

“hoon— say something!” she hisses, pulling his arm to get a response as if he’s a vending machine.

sunghoon stares blankly at you, or rather, the space behind you because the sunghoon standing in front of you doesn’t have the confidence to look you in the eyes. he had lost it the day he rejected you terribly.

“baby, listen, i think—” he gulps, finally a few words rolling of his tongue after fifteen minutes of deafening silence. “— you must be mistaken.”

and she gasps as if she’s in some sort of soap opera, stepping back in what is supposed to be like shock and betrayal, the fake, dramatic tears arriving in her eyes once again.

“mistaken? sunghoon are you fucking kidding me?!” yeah no, she isn’t shook anymore. she’s raging, and honestly very crazy. “your so-called best friend threatened me and you think i’m mistaken?!”

now, they’re the wasting your time. “hoon—”

“it’s sunghoon for you.” she cuts in.

“hoonie,” you glare at her before averting your gaze to him. “i think you need to—”

“yn,” he interjects, voice softer than you expected. “stop it.”

you can’t believe your ears. this time, you’re speechless; eyes looking at him for answers but again, all sunghoon does is avoid your gaze. you don't want him to explain. you just want him to say what he was saying. sunghoon knows you wouldn't resort to sick schemes to proclaim the love of your life, but you see his gaze waver along with the trust as he gulps anxiously. and his girlfriend, you don’t even want to look at the proud grin plastered on her face but she scoffs, managing to seize your attention.

“alright.” you fetch your car keys from your pocket. “let’s stop it.” and you get in your car, driving away without even sparing him a last glance.

you have so many regrets in life, but nothing is as big as harbouring feelings for sunghoon. the rejection isn’t even the worst part of it because all you expected from him was to believe you, and he let you down. blurry eyes, a horn blazes in the dark, you pull over abruptly. if you aren’t already afraid of crashing into someone out of anger and dejection, the skies decides to greet you with disconsolate showers.

you know you should call someone to pick you up, or take a taxi— just anything except driving back in the unfavourable weather with a burdened heart, but instead you press the accelerator, wiping away a few tears that managed to roll down your cheeks, driving into what potentially classifies as the road to death, in your case.

a part of you wants to turn around and go back to sunghoon. partially to see what they’re doing and partially to slap his girlfriend until she goes unconscious. maybe, you wouldn’t talk to him ever again; and even if you tried, maybe he’d avoid you, pretend like you never existed.

it’s okay, you tell yourself, love changes the smartest of people. and park sunghoon is the fool, after all. you let your mind trace over all the possibilities about what they could’ve been doing right now, for the sake of comedic relief, honestly. maybe making out in the rain. after all, kisses in the rains are for eternal lovers and nothing could last longer than a fool who’s madly in love with a crazy witch.

you park by your apartment, running to your door to avoid getting drenched but you fail anyway. and the next one hour is spent washing up and making yourself a elegant cup of hot chocolate. it may seem a good way to heal yourself, but now that you’re alone, sitting by your kitchen counter, engulfed in despairing silence, you hear your heart shattering into pieces.

a tear rolls down your cheek, then another, and another, and before you knew, you were sobbing into the sleeves of your sweater, muffled sniffles filling the entire room. a loud thunder sends shivers down your spine, your doorbell ringing just a second later. you don’t even want to get up, but you wipe your tears, making your way to the entrance. and you open the door, gaze landing on a familiar face.

sunghoon looks into your eyes for the first time after he rejected you. “i didn’t know where to go.”

Oh my God. I've literally been thinking about what to do with this because I have so many ideas. I definitely think that Sunghoon would be really cocky in a friendship if he liked a girl. Especially if he knew she liked him back. Like I could just see you two at a pond looking into the water and he's just like "we'd be good together, don't you think?" With a sly smirk on his face as you turn red. After that, he proceeds to confess and ask you to be his gf.

With Jay, I see him in a relationship when he says that, like, he always acts like he's still trynna pull you even though your his gf. Like just one day, he's sitting on the couch as you get up to go to the kitchen as he says "we'd be good together, don't you think?" Which makes you blush and shake your head because he's already dating you. We love a guy who takes his relationships seriously and treats his gf's well🤗

an — the readmore button is glitching so it didn’t work!! sorry about that but enjoy this of hoon in honour of hoon day:)

sunghoon took a deep breath and walked into the place he would be seeing for a bit more often now. being a highschool student wasn’t easy, especially if you were relying on your parents money. thats when sunghoon took the initiative to get a job, it wouldn’t be so hard would it?

well, 2 coffee shops and 2 restaurants later, here he is standing in the door way of blessed sight coffee shop, his last and only hope. being fired from your previous jobs can really bruise ones ego.

from that day that he got fired for the 4th time, he swore he would never look for a job again. that was until he caught a glimpse of blessed sight on the way home one day. to his luck, they were looking for more employees. so of course sunghoon took the initiative to sign up for the last time. he promised himself that if this job didnt work out then he decided that it would be final and he would never apply for a job again until university.

he sighed once again as he approached the counter of the shop. he looked around at the decor, and found it very amusing as it was all neutral colours with greens and had jus one very bright pink plush popping out. he smiled as he appreciated the inside of the shop.

“hi! you must be sunghoon?” your manager said as she popped out of no where. sunghoon jumped back slightly before nodding his head. “okay cool, im kim chaewon, the manager here!” she said as she stuck out her hand for sunghoon to shake. he looked down at her hand and shook it and nodded. “im about to take you to your mentor, they will be showing you around for the next week until you’re settled! if you need anything, don’t hesitate to ask me or one of the other workers.” chaewon said as she smiled at him once again. “lets go!” she waved him and started leading the way.

“yn! love!” chaewon said as she called your name. she smiled when you appeared. you smiled at her and quickly fried your hands with a cloth before turning to her and hugging her. “okay so sunghoon this is yn, they will be your mentor for the week” chaewon said as she stepped aside so that sunghoon could see you.

he looked up from his shoes and made eye-contact with you. he sucked in a breath as he studied your appearance. you were wearing your uniform, a plain white dress shirt with a pair of beige pants. your black apron in the front was covered in flour and had a cloth hanging from it.

to him, you were probably the most good looking person he had ever met. the way when you smiled while talking to chaewon, to the way your eye’s crinkled when laughing at something she said. his cheeks started turning red as he realised he was daydreaming.

“im sunghoon” he said after he cleared his throat and held his shaky hand out for you to shake. “yn, i hope we get along” you said as you smiled and shook his hand. you noticed how his hands were shaking but you thought it was because of the nerves.

“now i need to leave, sunghoon i promise youre in good hands, no need to stress about anything okay? we will help you!!” chaewon said as she smiled at sunghoon once more. “bye yn!” “bye chae!” you said as you smiled and turned back to sunghoon. “okay so lets get you some uniform first, follow me” you said as you guided him to the room with all the uniform pants.

after sunghoon had put on his uniform pants and an apron, he came out and looked for you. “lets go” you said as you grabbed him by the wrist and dragged him to your station that was currently closed. “starting off, do you have any experience working in a coffee shop? do you know how to bake?” you asked as you looked at him.

he was pretty. who were you kidding he was handsome. the way his platinum hair fell in front of his eyes and his moles on his face were pretty as ever. “i know how to make coffee and tea, i jus dont know how to make those art works on top. i also dont really know how to bake” sunghoon said as he rubbed the nape of his neck. “okay thats something i can work with. do you know how to make boba?” you asked. he shook his head no. “lemonade?” he once again shook his head no. “not even frappuccino’s?” he shook his head no.

you sighed as you realised this was gonna be a lot of work for you. not that you minded, because it definitely meant you could spend more time with the new hot worker of yours. sunghoon on the other hand felt bad for you. he knew almost nothing about coffee shops and baking, he doesn’t even know how he got this job with no experience at all.

“okay well we better get started, learning you all this wont happen over night!” you said as you smiled at him for some comfort. he nodded his head and started paying attention to what you were saying.

at the end of the first day, sunghoon had managed to learn how to make Frappuccino’s and boba. he was a fast learner, a dedicated one too. though he made many mistakes, you reassured him that it was only natural for that to happy on day 1.

“bye sunghoon!” shouted from a distance and started walking home. you didn’t live that far from the café, jus a few blocks away. “yn wait!” sunghoon called. he didnt know why he did but the least he could do was walk you home from all the help today. “let me walk you home” sunghoon said as he let out a breath. your eyes widened before you nodded.

walking in the moonlight home was very beautiful to say the least. sunghoon really was shining with the moon light that was reflected on him. he hands were in his pockets as he breathed out the cool air. “you did well today” you said as you looked at the moon. “i did” sunghoon asked as he looked up at you. you nodded while smiling. he thought you smiling was the prettiest thing he’s ever seen.

the following few days was a breeze. working with sunghoon wasn’t too difficult of a task, since he was dedicated and moved swiftly as you taught him. it also probably helped that you two had grown closer these few days and he was more comfortable.

today was learning how to make latte art. you saved the hardest for last since you knew it was gonna take him a few tries before he gets it 100% right.

“you ready hoon?” you asked as the nickname slipped out of your mouth. he blushed at the nickname and nodded his head. “i didnt know you thought about me” he teased as he walked over to where you were. “since when are you such a tease huh?” you said as you looked at him and crossed your arms. “i dont know” he shrugged as he walked even closer to you.

now you two were standing a few centimetres apart for each other. you looked up at him and sucked in a breath as you realised how close you two were. his lips parted slightly as he looked at your lips and then back at your eyes. you felt him lean in so you closed your eyes and leaned in with him.

your lips were about to touch until someone interrupted you two. “yn! sunghoon!” chaewon exclaimed as she popped out of no where. you two both pulled back abruptly as your face started turning red. “hi chaewon!” you said as you smiled, trying to ignore the fact that she almost saw you and sunghoon kiss. “so! its sunghoons last day as an intern, i jus wanted to see if hes doing well” she said as she smiled at him. he nodded his head and gave a small smile towards her.

“okay good! ill see you later yn!” chaewon said as she winked at you. you smiled and waved her off. once she was out of your sight, you let out a deep breath and looked at sunghoon, who was already looking at you while smirking. “what” you said as you got the milk ready for the latte art. “nothing” he said as he shook his head.

“yeah, and then your gonna- no sunghoon wait” you said as you tried to explain to him how to do the latte art. sunghoon sighed as he messed up again. “hey calm down” you said as you stood behind him with a hand on his shoulder, slowly rubbing it. “no need to rush” you continued in a soft voice for him. he nodded as he went back to trying.

“yeah, then you’re gonna tilt you cup and poor it in slowly, like that” you said as you guided him through the process. “okay here” you said as you placed your hands on top of his to help him. “jus shake it slowly like this and then lift the cup up and go straight through the middle.” you said with your hands still on his. his face was close to yours, you could see his beautiful side profile and his moles clearly. “i got it” he said as he smiled and turned his head to look at you. “mhm you did” you said as you smiled back at him.

“one last try okay” you said as you made one last latte for him. he picked up the milk and did as you instructed him to do. once he got to the end, he made a beautiful heart and gave it to you to look. “yeah exactly like this” you said as you inspected the cup and looked up at him. “well done hoon” you said as you placed the cup down and clapped your hands. “couldn’t have done it without you honestly, thank you” he said as he looked at you. you waved him off and laughed.

closing time was always the best. you had the whole coffee shop to yourself and could close up at your own time. however, sunghoon had been staying with you recently because he insisted on walking you home every night as a thank you.

you locked the coffee shop door and slowly made you way besides sunghoon. “well done on you week!! today was you last day, how are you feeling?” you asked as you smiled at him. “it was tough i wont lie, learning all these new skills but i think i got the best tutor so its all cool” he said as he looked at you while you laughed. “but i will say, ill miss being around you” he said as he looked away from you. “ill miss your company too hoon” you said biting you bottom lip to prevent a smile from forming.

sunghoon then stopped in his footsteps. you halted in yours too. “sunghoon? are you okay?” you said as you furrowed your eyebrows and walked closer to him. “yn i jus, ugh, look i think you’re really good looking and the energy you radiate is so comforting and i think i really really like you, even though its only been a week and i do not not wanna be around you” sunghoon said in one breath as he looked at you seriously.

you stood there shocked. you looked at him for a few seconds before finally answering. “sunghoon, its not too early because honestly i feel the same, but its kinda insane that someone as pretty as you is into me so” you said as you trailed off slightly. you then felt a hand grab you by your waist and pull you closer. you squealed in surprise as your hands landed on his chest.

you looked up at him once again. “then go on a date with me, please?” he asked whispering to you. “yes” you replied immediately as you smiled at him.

his eyes darted down to your lips and back up to your eyes. he then smiled before leaning in to kiss you. you closed your eyes at the feeling of his lips on yours. his lips were soft, and they moulded perfectly together with yours. you pulled away from the kiss as you rested your forehead against his. “you’re kinda cute you know that” you said as you smiled at him. “as long as im yours, i’ll always be cute to you” he said while kissing your forehead.

maybe working at this coffee shop wasnt such a bad idea after all for sunghoon.

now to say sunghoon always looked good was an understatement. it was jus the truth. he did always jus look flawless. the way his pale skin is so clear, and his light freckles on his face made him ever so more beautiful.

you laughed as you looked through the mirror and caught the sight of sunghoon with a hairband on, ready to wash his face and brush his teeth. he looked at you and smiled before getting back to work.

even right now, he looked so beautiful. you sneakily pulled out your phone, and took some pictures of him. i mean, how could you not? he was jus so beautiful that you couldn’t help it.

unfortunately due to you losing focus and only thinking about sunghoon, he noticed you with you phone and took it from your hands. “hoon!” you said as you let out a gasp at the phone leaving your hand. “what are you doing” he said teasingly as he scrolled through the pictures you took.

“hoon give my phone back” you said as you crossed your arms. “no” he said while sticking his tongue out teasingly at you. you were left with no choice but to climb on his back. “yn what?” he said as he felt something on his back. “give me my phone” you said as you tried to reach for it but couldn’t because he moved his arms even more out.

“first explain why? and i’ll think about it” sunghoon said. “because you looked pretty, i mean you always do but you looked extra pretty right now.” you said as you hid your face in his neck from embarrassment. he mentally awed. you took this as your opportunity to take you phone back so you snatched it from his hold and climbed of his back before running a way while laughing.

“yn?!” he said shocked as every thing happened so fast. “loser” you called out from outside of the room and ran to the kitchen. sunghoon laughed and shaked his head before chasing after you.

SAV OMFG YES, bc he would do that big ass smile of his when he laughs with niki, of you went ice skating with him.

“hoon!” you called out while wobbling. it was your boyfriend, sunghoon, birthday and he wanted nothing more than going ice-skating with his love. “yn wait i got you” he said as he skated towards you while laughing. “hoon help- oof” you said as you fell on your butt.

you heard someone laughing so you looked up and it was non other than your boyfriend. he clutched his stomach laughing at you still on the floor. “ouch, that hurt you know” you said as you crossed your arms and tried getting up before falling down again. sunghoon jus laughed even more at this.

“okay okay let me help you up baby” he said as his laughter died down and held his hand out for you to take. you gladly took his hand as his other hand went to support your waist as he helped you get up. he then turned you around and helped you dust off. “there we go” he said as he turned you around again.

“please dont let go” you said as you held onto sunghoons hand for the rest of the time at the skating rink. “no promises” he teased as placed a kiss on your puffed out cheeks and laughed at the look on your face.

“hi hoonie!” you said as you smiled and gave him a hug before sitting at the booth with him. sunghoon was nervous. of course he was, especially since he was planning on confessing and asking you out. sunghoon smiled at you as you talked about your day.

“what flavour?” sunghoon asked, already knowing you were gonna say (your favourite flavour). he smiled as he payed the man and the cashier. “i got everything ready for you! are you ready?” the waiter said as he smiled at sunghoon. sunghoon nodded and walked back to where you were sitting.

“wheres the ice-cream?” you asked as you saw sunghoon coming back empty handed. “they said they will bring it for us” he said as he rubbed the back of his neck nervously.

sunghoon sighed and looked at the waiter to signal him it was time. “yn” he said as he took you hands into his. “we both know the impact we have made on both of our lives and even though we had a miscommunication at some point, im happy youre back in my life. i-i- i like you. alot. and you know its hard to express how i really feels but i jus wanted to tell you.” sunghoon breathed out as he finished. you looked at him with your mouth agape. you were shocked. your crush? liking you? no way!!

“ah i thought yo-“ sunghoon was cut off when you placed your lips on his. his eyes fluttered shut at the feeling of you soft lips pressing against his. he pulled away with red cheeks and a cute smile. “does that answer your question?” you teased him. he laughed. “and heres for the special lady! hope you enjoy lovebirds!” the waiter winked at sunghoon before he left. you looked down and it was ice-cream with a sign in the middle that says “will you be my girlfriend”. you pouted as you looked up at him and smiled. “of course, 100%!!” you said as you smiled and pulled him in for a hug.

WARNINGS: swearing

you were nervous as you sat and waited for sunghoon to arrive. you wiped your sweaty palms on your thighs and let out a sigh. you weren’t ready to tell him, but it was better to tell him now than never.

“hi sorry im late” sunghoon said as he sat next to you and let out a breath. “its no worries, i jus got here” you replied as you smiled at him.

“so” you said as you looked around slightly. “i have something to tell you too, but only when you finished telling me what you were supposed to okay?” you continued in one breath. sunghoon furrowed his eyebrows as he realised how nervous you looked. “hey calm down, theres nothing to worry about” sunghoon said as he grabbed your hand in his. you looked at him and blushed at the contact. you nodded your head.

“okay please talk” you said as you tried to get your mind off of things. “okay where do i start..” sunghoon said before he started telling you everything from the beginning.

you held your tears in after he finished everything. you let out a sigh and looked down. you let go of his hand as a tear fell out of your eye. “im sorry” you said as you quickly grabbed your things and ran away. “yn love wait” sunghoon called out for you but it was too late.

he let out a sigh and ran his hands through his hair.
