Aizoaceae (ice plant)
There are over 1,800 species of ice plants and 96% of them are native to the ‘Succulent Karoo’. The Succulent Karoo is an ecosystem which stretches along the coastal strip of southwestern Namibia and South Africa's, Northern Cape province. Not only is it the center of diversity for ice plants but it hosts almost 40% of the approximately 10,000 species of succulent plants found world-wide.
Ice plants prefer semiarid conditions but they do surprisingly well, growing outdoors in Vancouver gardens. Evidently, I’m not the only one who enjoys ice plants. The local electric company has decided to decorate this switcher box with an ice plant as some sort of clever disguise.

plant time again teehee
This is Echeveria "Lola". This is THE echeveria i think of when i hear "echeveria". The Standard edition echeveria in my opinion.
They grow in these tight little rosettes, with little bracket shaped leaves. (Like this { lol) The spines on each leaf Are a little sharp, but not enough to do any damage.
They range in hues of this light dusty mint green color, to have a smidge of purple in the center. They can be propagated by leaves and cuttings, and they typically bloom in the late spring to early summer. Their blooms are a striking bright orange and pink that contrasts beautifully against the mint green and blush purple of the leaves.
(I actually own one of these !! Mine came in the mail with bloom stalks already, even thought its in the middle of winter lol)

Another succulent in watercolor. I broke down and hit it with my markers when my brush paint wasn’t going where I wanted it to go.

I am wondering if I can do something like this with transparent clay or something.... However, I have tried to draw them, but they are not what I expected. I was reminded that I need to plan properly, regardless of whether I make it or not.

SucculePlantaeic
a gender related to succulent plants, specifically the smaller ones kept as cute house plants but can be general succulents including cacti. The gender feels like it doesnt need much care, just a little water and sun and generally cares for itself quite well. The gender may like hot or humid places/climates, is possibly associated with shades of cool green and can feel like a cozy lil guy in a funky lil pot just chillin by a windowsill.
