So basically, today my gf yelled from the other room when she got this message about Stray Kids - Charmer. We are from Romania and we knew Charmer's chorus sounded very much like manele, but today somebody dead ass found the god damn song, so I'l leave it here for you guys to laugh and stan.

Everything is much more funny because Bang Chan said in one of his Chan's rooms that he also grew up with Dragostea din tei another Romanian bop from 2000. I just bet he was scrolling through YouTube at 4 in the morning and he entered the manele tag and he said smash.

I think one of the funniest things happening recently is going on the internet and seeing kids make videos where they compare kpop and local music trying to prove that kpop is waaaaay better. Like music isn't a preference and there's absolutely no need for something like this because everyone will listen to what they like anyway.
First of all, if you are going to do something like this, make sure to compare music from the same time period. Don't compare "Dragostea din Tei" which was released in 2003 with "Boy with luv" which was released in 2019. Music has evolved a lot in 16 years and it's not a fair comparison. You can compare "Dragostea din Tei" with Big Bang's music or SUJU's music but you probably don't listen to them from various superficial reasons. Don't think I don't see y'all's posts.
Second of all, don't compare solo artists with groups. Smiley won't offer the same things Stray Kids does because Smiley is a vocalist while Stray Kids has both vocalists and rappers in it. A solo artist can only do so much and this thing is available vice versa as well. Don't compare local groups with SK solo artists! If you really want to, compare Stray Kids with local groups and bands, but you probably don't listen to them because they make "bad music". Again, don't think I don't see y'all's posts.
Third of all, let's not pretend that local music is bad. You weren't even alive when half of it was released so you really aren't entitled to an opinion. You can say you don't like it, but don't say it's bad. Tell me that if "Gașca mea" or "Tu și eu" or " Acele" would start playing at a party you would just stay mad on your chair. Cause I wouldn't! Literally fuck Stray Kids, ea e Dana colega mea si vreau diseara să mă plimb cu ea, you know what I mean?
I am not an avid manele listener, I think I can safely say I don't like them, but if "Buzunarul Meu Vorbește" or "Calcă accelerația" or any of the old ones would start playing you know I'm about to break my back on them. And don't even get me started on folklore music. I will stand on that horă until I can't feel my legs anymore and that is a fact! Local music is good, you just have to stop being a little bitch.
And this thing is available for people from all the countries of the world. You don't have to bring someone down to uplif someone else. It's music, is not that deep. If you stop being a koreaboo and stop saying onionhaseyong every five minutes and start appreciating your own culture as well, you could get the best of both worlds. Music is a PREFERENCE!! Let it stay that and let people enjoy whatever music they like.
Kpop listeners already get enough shit for listening to kpop and doing that thing back to non kpop listeners won't bring us anything good. I'm sure that some of you want to taste the sweet "revenge" but believe me when I say, it won't bring you solace. It only makes you look stupid.
