on principle opposed to describing art i dislike as 'masturbatory' because even though it's an alluringly contemptuous word to sneer it's impossible to reconcile with my pro-masturbation stance

Zayne:

• When you missed the last check up appointment, he was hella suspicious

• Shows up to your place with childhood friend credentials and demands an explanation

• You invite him in, embarrassed because you weren't ready to reveal what you did

• You say you did something he might not approve of and he braces himself

• But when you lift up your shirt and show the still healing tattoo of snowflakes on your ribs, he's speechless

• A cold finger traces the lines without him thinking about it and you shiver at his touch

• He asks "why" and you tell him the snowflakes represent one of the most important people in your life

• He's overwhelmed with emotion and pulls you into a gentle embrace

• He tells you it's his duty as your doctor to make sure it heals correctly and lasts for a long time.

Xavier:

• After succeeding in a mission, he insists on celebrating at his place with some cupcakes he bought earlier

• While you nibble, your chest throbs with a bit of an itch and pain and you try to excuse yourself

• Of course, he notices and demands to see your injury

• A bit embarrassed, you move the collar of your shirt to the side and show the constellation of stars on your chest to show him it's not that serious

• He doesn't reveal any emotion on his face, just staring at your collar bone and the skin around it

• "What... What does that mean?"

• And when you tell him looking at the stars remind you of him, he pulls you into a strong hug, mindful of your chest

• "I'm happy my little star has a constellation of me to keep with her"

Rafayel:

• When he asks you to come over, you know it's just because he wants your company despite his feeble excuses

• And as soon as you come through the door, he's dragging you to the couch, ready to regale you with his latest lament of non inspiration

• But when you settle and twinge with a bit of pain as you back hits the cushions, he's on high alert

• "Did you get injured on a mission??? Let me see"

• And even though you try to fight him, he uses his strength to turn you around and peek under your shirt at your back

• The color splats in the shape of a fish leave him at a loss of words

• You timidly tell him you had it done a few days ago after seeing how well he took care of Reddie, the fish you gave him

• He tries to hide it, but his voice is a bit choked up as he says he could've designed a better tattoo

• Demands you tell him if you want to get another one, you're definitely matching next time.

i do wonder why fandom is so insistent on proving that "gale could eventually change his mind" when it comes to fatherhood.

if children are something you ideally want in your romance - that is completely valid and luckily for you, there are several romance options in the game that can provide just that. wyll, lae'zel, and halsin. even shadowheart briefly mentions that children might be a possibility for her in the future. 4 options total that either already have entire adoption subplots or are open to the idea.

meanwhile, fandom is bending over backwards, bringing up aspects of gale's arc that are completely irrelevant to the topic at hand and claiming that any statement coming from gale or any boundary he sets should forever be questioned because... "he has been known to have inferiority issues"?!

gale is a character who is very likely in his 40s. he isn't some 20-something college boy who is still trying to figure everything out. i personally never felt like there was any point in the context of gale's relationship with tav where he was unsure about his desires. quite the contrary.

gale is also very vocal about what he wants. not wasting any time in proposing to tav after the big bad had been defeated. i am pretty sure there would have been instances where gale expressed his desire to have children (whether that may mean immediate or somewhere down the line) if larian had intended to include this aspect in his romance as well.

...but instead all we have to go on when it comes to the subject of children in general are lines like these:

player: gale... how would you feel about having another person in our relationship?

gale: what, like a child? i'm not quite sure i'd consider myself father material, plus our current lifestyle isn't exactly what i'd call settled...

tara: this is why mrs. dekarios and i will be waiting an eternity more for grandchildren.

gale: psst! shoo, tara.

nodecontext: shooing away tara like one would a naughty cat.

gale, upon spotting oliver during their game of hide and seek: ah, i have you! just a shame i don't want you.

what part of italy are machete and vasco from? not their birthplace since from what i've seen you're still workshopping that. where do they live? i assume rome?

In the 1500's setting Vasco lives and was born in Florence, his family has lived there for centuries. Machete was born in Sicily, was taken to Naples to serve as an apprentice and ended up living and working in Rome (and more specifically today's Vatican city, which as you may know has been an independent country since 1929 but wasn't back then). They first met when they were both studying in Venice in their late teens/early twenties.

I think in the modern au they live together somewhere in Florence.

#characters travelling this extensively at the time #from one end of the country to another #may not be very realistic but it's more fun to include a variety of interesting historical locations #let me be greedy and self indulgent for a moment #(not to mention that Italy wasn't unified until late 1800's and was instead made of various states kingdoms and duchies #that didn't always get along with each other that well and were culturally and linguistically diverse #and some of them were actually ruled Spain and Austria for example)#I say this as lovingly as possible but the history of Italian peninsula as a whole is just a real clusterfuck #I feel like I still haven't wrapped my head around it adequately to be explaining any of this to you #but please be patient with me I promise I'm trying my best #answered #anonymous

I've been playing around with possible friendship dynamics of the Beast Council for fun!! I love imagining what kind of childhood they could have in the Forgotten Land all together.

What if Carol and Sillydillo are the fun-loving extroverts? Leon is the introverted one who's been smitten by Carol for a really really long time but he's too shy about it? And Gori is the friend who is an excellent observer and will bluntly tell you what he thinks (and maybe has a tendency to get grumpy when things aren't easily going his way).

Somewhat of a prequel to this other doodle comic about Leon and Carol- everyone here is still a kid ^_^

Part 2
