George and Evelyn Headcannons

George leaves a small bouquet of daffodils on Granny's nightstand every morning. On their anniversary/her birthday, he goes the extra mile and gets her tulips and fairy rose. Lewis and Farmer give him the flowers.

Evelyn used to play gridball with Alex when he was little. She sucked, but Alex thought he had the best grandma in the world (he still thinks so).

George used to be a gridball coach for a local high school a few towns over.

Evelyn used to join the other ladies for the exercise class at Pierre's, but one day her hip went out and George forced her to stop.

George cried at his and Evelyn's wedding. It was the first time Evelyn saw him cry. Since then, Evelyn's only seen him cry during Clara's and Alex's birth, during Clara's funeral, and after the accident in the mines.

George only went to school up to the 8th grade before dropping out to work in the mines for his family. Evelyn finished high school, but never went to college.

The reason George hates the Flower Dance is because he can't dance with Evelyn anymore.

Alex drew a picture of George and Evelyn when he was five. It's the one of the worst pictures ever but they still have it, right next to Clara's letter.

Just some headcannons that came to mind.

i calculated stardew valley characters’s real-time birthdays because i love celebrating fictional birthdays

here’s my big brain process. i looked up the average amount of days in a season and set it equal to the fraction of their birthday. ex. there’s 28 days a month, so spring 4 would be 4/28. spring has an average of 92.8 days assuming stardew valley is in the northern hemisphere. 4/28 = x/92.8 and solve for x. x is the amount of days AFTER the first day of the season. so i looked up the first day of each season (average) and added x, (ex. what day is 23 days after march 20) and these are the dates i got. marnie’s birthday is a day after mine :)

Remember Your Grandpa Mod Idea

Working on Immersive NPC Phone Calls mod, and when I got to Evelyn's phone calls, I started remembering my grandmother's stories of the olden days when she was a child. And Lilac and I have been brainstorming an idea for a mod that features Evelyn and George reminiscing about their childhood and teenage years growing up with the farmer's grandparents.

My grandparents were farmers during the Great Depression of the U.S. And my grandmother would tell me all kinds of stories about their parents and grandparents and aunts and uncles about how life was between 1890-1930. Her father built shrimp boats and her grandmother used to hand make fishing nets out of old parachutes.

Lilac and I would like to see a mod where the farmer is more of a part of a community. And where the farmer feels more of a connection to her grandfather. And where the farmer hears stories of the olden days where people sat on their front porches and the kids built forts in the woods.

Willie could talk about remembering his grandparents, etc.

This mod would not be started until I finish my Vampire Sebastian mod. But I will start collecting authentic anecdotes about how life was like for a poor farmer in the South of the U.S. to help the farmer remember his or her roots.
