Piggy Jane the Staffordshire Bull Terrier (2023)
A pet portrait of an adorable white Staffordshire Bull Terrier dog named Piggy Jane with a vibrant lavender purple background! Acrylics on 11" x 14" canvas. This was challenging as not only is she basically entirely white, but her features are very smooth and rounded, so it was hard to get definition in her face.
I had to use about 10 reference photos to make sure I got it right, as well as for all her subtle spots that do not appear in every photo. So this is an excellent example of why I ask for multiple reference photos for my portraits!

From this day in 2012, thanks to a "Looking Back" notification from Google Photos.
Usually I avoid looking at old pics with the animals I miss these days, because it makes me too sad. But, I did tap through on Mr. Laser Eyed Goof today.
I am actually pretty sure the dogshaming sign was referring to the one time when he managed to sneak out the back gate, and got picked up by Animal Control almost immediately for what ended up being an overnight stay. He did get bailed out, and Mr. C went to pick him up in the morning.
And that is likely why Mr. Neurotic was still sulking in his box and little Thundershirt (a.k.a. weighted blanket for dogs) when I got the pic after his release. It was not easy being Max.

Finished "Cynocephalus" commission for @lvtsoulstice of Shark the staffy!
The email I received contained the wonderful phrase "meticulous destruction," so I had to do something with it. I'm not sure a hand saw is a particularly meticulous tool, but I wanted "toothy" tools that would point back to her name, haha. You can thank Norman Rockwell's version of Rosie the Riveter for the goggles and some of the overall vibe.
