A thing that I noticed about Splatoon and how they handle the Idols that not many people talk about is that they're never the focus of the story they're introduced in:
1. Squid Sisters- Basically just side/support characters. Didn't even come into the story until near the end of the Story Mode. It wasn't until S2 that they got more focus and substancial character development , most of which, sadly, came from a web exclusive story.
2. Off The Hook: They barely had any presence in the base game's story mode at all. We had to wait until a year later to get a story focused on them and we had to pay for it, and for the third game, they once again didn't have much presence in the main game and had the "sequel" to their story via DLC which, just like S2 and SS Stories, was mainly about showing us how both the results of the final fest and events of the previous stories personally affected their characters as well as completing their character arcs.
3. DC: Despite being kind of undersutulized in the main story mode, they still probably had the most presence and significance in the story, and arguably the best debut, due to working as antagonists, later turned allies. As of now, they haven't currently gotten their own story but if the "pattern" set up by the previous games is anything to go by, we'll either get an S2 Hero mode situation with DC being the main focus while the new idol get smaller roles and later DLC to tell their story or an S3 situation when they'll be mostly focus on the new city and villain while Deep Cut get the DLC treatment showing their post-final fest lives.
One things for sure, the next Idol group most likely ain't getting their own story until Splatoon 5 🤣

Splatoon Future: A Story Mode Concept
So a while back I had two ideas for future story campaign stories and there's this one that I (alongside others) really enjoy: the vigalante story. So for the past few days while working on some final plotpoint ideas for my OCs' Side Order story arc (speaking of Your Side of Order I might start working on the first chapter in a few days! might even release it on the 29th this month since Side Order will probably release a month from then), I've also been thinking about some concepts for the next story arc! So, this is what I've gotten so far...
So basically since Splatoon 3 is the end of the current story arc, we'll be moving away from the whole inklings v octolings conflict and shifting attention towards something else. But who could possibly be the next new big bad?
Easy. We make a long anticipated species of inkfish an actual thing in the game. WE INVOLVE THE CUTTLINGS IN THE NEXT ARC. I know, crazy but hear me out.
irl cuttlefish can hypnotize their prey with flashing colors and such, so having cuttlings as big bads wouldn't be so farfetched.
Plotwise, here's what I have in mind:
So the player opens up the game, right? Upon first glance, everything's alright. We got some cool new "idols" (heavy emphasis on the quotation marks; you'll see why in a bit), normal ass news report, ect.. BUT after the news, the idols give an emergency news report that finally doesn't have to do with the Great Zapfish: someone vanilized a statue celebrating the integration of octarians into inkling culture using a very specific symbol. The "idols" act suprised, and add that this is yet another case of vandilizm in a large strand of crimes involving defacing public property, specifically anything that has to do with inklings and octolings being together. And all these crimes have one thing in common: they all involve the same symbol being spray painted onto something. The news brodcast closes out and the player can move around the hub area. If they go to the statue that was vandilized (which is located in the middle of the hub area), they'll meet up with a few other NPCs (the characters you'll be accompanied by in the campaign) (as for who they could be I'll leave that to your imagination). One of them seems interested in the crime and wants to further explore the situation. The other NPCs agree and they ask you for your opinion (either way you start the story mode anyways). After selecting your answer & the NPCs talking a bit more, they all agree to meet up at another statue in the city to see if it'll get defaced.
Later at night, you meet up with the other NPCs and then a steakout is commenced. After waiting a while, a mysterious being shows up and is about to vandilize the statue. One of the NPCs wants to jump them and attempts to, only for the figure to somehow cause them to freeze before they could do anything. The figure runs away and the group chases after them. After a while, you're treated to the first boss of the game. Nothing too difficult, but it's challanging enough for a first boss fight. After beating the boss, it's revealed that the character is a being similar to the "idols" (i.e. not an inkling or an octoling). Before you can deal the final blow, the character causes everyone to freeze and then they super jump away. After that, one of the NPCs talks about wanting to see where the character is going, so you and the others follow the character into a strange underground area that leads to an underwater base (the story mode area, which can still be accessed through the statue in the hub). In each level, you and the NPCs duke it out with the cuttlings and more of their henchmen (which could probably include other inkfish enemies like vamplings, vampire squid inkfish), slowly figuring out what's going on with these peculiar inkfish.
(dunno what bosses the player could face so I'll leave this up to you guys for now)
Anyways, after duking it out with the cuttlings, the player will find out the story of the cuttlings. Basically they are another race of inkfish who, among other types of inkfish like vamplings (and maybe others if Nintendo wants to shake things up a bit), who were feared and ostrisized by the inklings and octolings for their strange abilities, and were forced into hiding in fear that ther species would be wiped out entirely. Many retreated into completely different hiding areas, with some hiding among other inklings and octolings in disquise and others just trying to stay away from other inkfish entirely, with one of the oldest civilizations of these inkfish making the underwater base of this story mode. These inkfish, unlike others who retreated to other parts of the world, hold a grudge against other inkfish who didn't go underwater with them (and of course against the inklings and octolings), and only now are the inkfish living in the base are planning to take over the surface by using their abilities to pin inklings and octolings against each other or just have them under their control so the cuttlings and other inkfish can have the life they want and to have them take revenge against their opressors, starting off by capturing their true current idols and replacing them with cuttlings posing as them.
In the end, the player and the NPCs save the idols and the player is faced with a choice: convince the cuttlings that things are different now and help them get along with other surface dwellers or have them stay in the base forever. After beating the campaign, the player will have the real idols in place of the fake ones (they can swap idols if they prefered one's music over another's, though). Also, the story is left wide open for exploring other types of inkfish and their cultures.
It's a sort of rough idea but hey it's a thought.

[SEARCHING FOR USER ID...]
Hm, not sure how to word this introduction....A long read ahead!
I'm a marine biology nerd and scholar in an on/off relationship with Splatoon since its first trailers. I distantly adore so many facets of the series but hesitate to join in as shooters, multi-player games, and I don't exactly mix well. With the drop of Splatoon 3 and Bunnycat's mind-meltingly adorable Tartar and Grizz animation to get me re-addicted in addition to other content creators keeping me well fed on lore, music, and fanart, I'm up to my neck in this colorful mess.
The previously mentioned genocidal telephone is my current problematic fav. I'm putting together cosplays based on the animation and other artist interpretations of Tartar and Mr. Grizz (refer to the “insp” tag) for my partner and I. With full knowledge that Splatoon is in fact a fictional kids game, my science-based brain can't help but try to dissect these cephalopod children and the world they live in. Immortal cats aren’t real and evolution can't take just 12000 years, even WITH mass amounts of radiation!
Why squids? Specialized species tend to die out after mass extinctions so why not a more generalized scavenger species? Are freshwater species extinct? If so why did shallow marine species survive and diversify? WHY DO FISH COME IN SUCH A VARIETY???
Tumblr media
WHY IS THAT FISH JUST A FISH...
Tumblr media
…WHILE THAT FISH HAS LEGS??
Were or are there other ink/octoling-like species that evolved but were whipped out by them like Homo sapiens did to its sister taxa? Did some humans survive the initial flooding and attempt to survive on boats or rafts? Noah's Arc that shit only to die!
UGH! I can't be the only one, right? (looking at @/nintendoteuthis, I'm clearly not. Check them out!)
So with lots of lore-digging and scientific papers ahead of me, I'm opening the floor to questions YOU would like Commander Tartar, the deep-sea AI and local lunatic, to answer! With 12000 years of watching species die, adapt, and die off again and NO ONE to share it with, I hope to hear from you.

Can you tell us some stuff about your splatoon ocs?
OH BOY so ive been meaning to drop some stuff about them(even the oldest ones because they've got some updates boooi) but ive been too busy drawing squid and playing squid bideogame to write about squid do u get me
so UH ill use this as my excuse to do at least some rambling uwU (<- me before i wrote this whole fuckin thing) they're all around the same age (17-19) but their character arcs sorta start based on the game i made them for (does that make sense?)
i wanna get them all smth decent on toyhouse eventually but this will do for now lmao
okay so this post is long as hell its readmore time
so to start with the splat 1 crew who were around 14 when i first made them;
but first here's the post w most of them, for reference :-)
Fernanda is basically the focus point of everything that happens here. Definition of girlboss; she moves every plot point because she is bold and determined to reach her goals. Her main objective is the classic BECOME THE VERY BEST and for that she's constantly trying to assemble the perfect team; though the means to reach that goal are pretty flexible. She's pretty much feral in battle, and is what some might call a "tryhard" in-game. She does try very hard. Way too much sometimes.
-anyway the moment she became a legit kid who is a squid at 14 she started going to turf war bc it was always her passion. Additionally, the moment her Childhood Bestie(tm) Speckle reached the same age she dragged him too. Personally, he'd rather not get into that stuff because hes very timid and nervous and scared and- yeah, that- but he's willing to do it with a friend; specially Fernanda, whose secondary hobby is beating up people who are mean to him. Thats sorta how they met in the first place.
She is, however, very determined to teach him the ins and outs of turf war and challenge him to go out of his comfort zone. He likes using brushes because he's an artsy person, but since it's a mostly aggressive weapon type, Fernanda wants him in the frontlines with her. It's just strats guys she totally isn't also doing it just to spend more time with her friend :-) shhh
But he sorta sticks like glue and depends a lot on her for safety, which isn't really the best idea in her mind. SO to try to teach him to be more confident she eventually starts joining the opposing team instead.
Needless to say, Spec is terrified being in a team without her. Doesn't help that she's the enemy, either, even though she usually doesn't outright splat him when they eventually clash. She moreso tries to give him a lesson first. It doesn't work very well. And worse yet, at one point some annoying ass charger starts targeting her specifically whenever she gets close to the other side of the map.
...And that's Gabriel (but i just call him gabe) :) He sorta notices how this girl keeps going after the same guy over and over again and eventually went 'yeah okay thats enough' and just started giving Speckle some support. (wanna make a lil note here that this is based on an actual thing that happened to me in game; i ran out of ink in a fight and the team charger blasted them and we both went BOOYAH. ill never forget u bro)
So yeah spec being spec he glued onto gabe instead. fernanda was, indeed, very upset by this because not only she couldn't enforce her lessons anymore but also spec was just doing the thing she didn't want him keep doing in the first place. And dealing with gabe is like. very, very annoying. specially for her as a roller main. he's always camping at the same few spots and he pretty much always avoids confrontation of any kind; motherfucker just jumps back to spawn or to a teammate who's safe. He has not only an advantage in range, but also his aim is impeccable. it's terrible hes terrible
anyway spec, despite being timid, actually grows attached to people really fast. from then on, every time they spot gabe in the lobby he waves and invites him to join them. fernanda is very annoyed my this but eventually she actually forms some sorta friendly rivalry with him(instead of, ynow, her being motivated purely to kick his ass). she ends up inviting him to join her (to be) Perfect Team(tm) and they all start hanging out more and learning how to work as a group.
also theres this plot thread
Tumblr media
its really just classic fluff n they end up dating like god intended
now there's like a big story gap here because, uh, it used to be some shared stuff with a friend but-- Yeah. im not sure what to do with that just yet. (..and its the big arc where fernanda has the most character development, strengthens her goals and improves herself. big gay shit too. bummer. 😔)
This gap extends all the way to the timeline of Splatoon 2, where they're all around 16
But lemme add some misc stuff that's happened since the first game tho; -Speckle has a new hobby, weapon customization! :-) he mostly does it for fun or for his friends, but occasionally someone comes up offering pay for it. he's not very confident about actually selling the stuff, but hey, he wasn't the one who asked for money. -Gabe learns to camp less but he gets tired real fast. -Fernanda and Gabe actually form a good and strong bond???? the rivalry is still there and they sometimes do 1v1 because she wants to get better at fighting people with far ranged weapons. -Actually, Fernanda's skill in particular grows exponentially. She's really giving it all she's got. Speckle might be less scared of going to turf alone, but it still makes him sorta nervous. -They move together to a lil place near Inkopolis Plaza because I don't follow real world rules (does a little dance) i will spare you of the somewhat underdeveloped socioeconomic hcs i made for this
OK MOVING FORWARD-
Splatoon 2 is the "Fernanda goes out scouting for a 4th person to complete their team and Spec befriends every single candidate" arc. It's what it says on the very specific tin. Just three of them won't do, and they have to get a 4th team member in order to start actually cooking some neat strategies because everyone has to be in on it.
They do turf and ranked matches and Fernanda tries to recruit the people who do best alongside them. In this process they meet Fernando, aka Fucco bc hes a fucker thats all there is to it lmao(though I have to mention Gabe is the origin of this nickname because he can't fucking stand Fernando; everyone else just sorta agrees because Yeah It's True), and through him they also are introduced to Roberta(bobby) and Orlando(orb!!!), who are his buddies and theyre just here to chill tbh.
When Fernanda rejects Fucco as a possible team member he is absolutely offended by it. So he rallies up his allies(see: his two friends) to clash against the og trio. Thing is, they don't really have much experience as a team. Bobby and Orb just sorta do turf casually, for fun. Fucco is the only one of them who is actually competitive and he just thinks great at it (hes average at best). He's always acting like they're the mean girls when both teams cross paths and tries to make up for his lack of skill with witty remarks, which, granted, is something he actually is good at.
He sorta starts pushing his teammates a bit too much to the point they're not really having fun anymore so they have to like stop supporting this for a moral lesson that he does not listen to and makes him feel betrayed so he gets upset at them. And then these battles devolve into just 1v1 between [chuckles] Fernanda and Fernando with everyone watching it like it's a saturday morning cartoon because honestly theres no contest here. This obviously makes him break eventually, and so Fernanda now is the one who has to break the moral lesson about idk fighting with passion, teamwork, actually accepting your own flaws and working around them and not through them, etc etc all that anime kinda stuff. Maybe throw something about the power of friendship there too just for flavor.
So while all these things happens, Spec is just being nice with the other team. He sometimes just stops mid-battle to listen to Orb rambling about something as he often does(yeah they just sit there but don't worry Gabe is always there to watch for whiny tryhards too), gives them a lil booyah when they do cool stuff, and always invites them to chill at the cafeteria when they're all done with their matches. And they do, although Fernando has a little uuuuuuh trouble with this. There's always a long exchange of threatening glares between him and Gabe and/or Fernanda. He's mostly only there because Orb is a friend he'd die for. and Orb really likes Speckle too.
Annnd yeah when this is all settled down and Fucco has finally stopped trying to be a nuisance these guys all merge into One Larger Group and he actually gets to join Fernanda's team in turf; not as one of them, though, just hanging out with them. It's all just shenanigans for them for a while after all that's done (-:
Eventually they meet MY BOY Michael aka Mikemas which is like Splatmas but with his (nick)name because he was 12 when he made that username. I switched the protagonist POV to him because, in case you haven't noticed, I just really love him. He's a little bastard who's got a significant following on the internet; he occasionally livestreams turf war(and other stuff) and has a BIG passion for music. Also makes funny short skits and other trendy type of content you'd see from an online personality. Speaking of online personality - that's all his sorta dumb egocentric attitude is. Though he is very confident, most of the dumb shit he says and does is mean to be a joke (see: "I don't need this, I'm an influencer" while being completely aware he isn't of that scale yet). Biggest highlights are the Calamari Inkantation ballad cover - the thing which usually makes people notice just how good his vocals are - and the "Now Or Never But Every Loop Gets Faster" video.
And then there's Manga, who I just got out of the afriendmadethis limbo because he and Mike go hand in hand. They live together and they're childhood friends who are, really close, not in a romantic way but in a way you'd probably think is. Manga participates in the internet presence stuff as well, he plays the keyboard and has a soundboard of funny sound effects for streaming :-) He's nonverbal, very quiet and deadpan most of the time but he's basically got the same sense of humor as Mike; they're very similar in a lot of ways that would make you question if maybe they're actually siblings? (they aren't) He's just less confident and less likely to engage in dumb shit; to the point he kinda has to act like a fuckin babysitter because someone keeps "forgetting" to take the medicine for their bipolar disorder and we simply can't let that happen so I guess we gotta fuckin suplex him to do it I guess. A lot of things need to have parental controls enabled because someone is very prone to addiction and keeps trying to play videogames for 24 hours nonstop without consuming anything but the hoard of iced tea they have in the fridge, which occasionally has to be locked also.
(in conclusion mike would've never been allowed to live away from his family if manga wasn't there)
Anyway yeah they meet Mike in turf and he's actually almost as good as he says he at it is so he earns the invitation to claim the honorable title of 4th member of Fernanda's team. ...Okay. It's more like. He's the one person who accepted it, I guess. And thus, Mike and Manga get to join their table at the cafeteria.
The last characters I made for Splatoon 2 were these guys, who never really got any development(or even names) until Splatoon 3 so I'm kinda pushing them to be for the Splat 3 plots I've been cookin'. And they finally have names - Vespa Gel, Roll and Viv.
So yeah now where we are, Splatoon 3 where everyone is 17-19. This is all still going on in the general area near Inkopolis Plaza, though we'll get to the mentions of Splatsville soon.
Mike was a very late addition to the team, so he isn't very well adjusted to the way they go about in turf and... He isn't really what we can call responsible, and is quite the chore to deal with. This bit of plot is mostly about several dumb conflicts between him and Fernanda because he keeps skipping practice, missing calls, and mostly acts independently instead of trying to work as a team. He is, however, a vital asset because of the skill level and comes in clutch very often, which is why he hasn't been kicked out of the team yet.
Now the stuff here is mostly still a mess so I'll get to some key points that happen parallel to that conflict--
-Mike meets Viv in turf and they bond a lot not just during matches but also afterwards bc Viv just sorta likes taking walks around the plaza and Mike tags along, initially because he wants to know when he could expect to see Viv in turf again because its good stream content and he just really likes going against people who match his skill bc it's fun :-) This sorta leads to them just hanging out a lot and meanwhile everyone at the table is just... sorta giggling quietly about how sus he's being bc of how he excitedly talks about Viv but he pushes back saying it's just some fun kinda rivalry y'now??? nothing to see here.
-Viv eventually has to stop hanging out bc he kinda is part of a gang that now kinda despises Mike. Well, Vespa, specifically, but the other two have goon brain so they gotta pretend they also hate him. They could hurt him in all sorts of bad ways because the boys r kinda unhinged, so Viv decides it's the best option to stop hanging out at the plaza(which is actually pretty far from where he lives)
-This is heartbreaking, of course, specially bc it happened right as Mike accepted that Yes, He Has The Hell of a Crush and sorta hits some insecurities he has.
-But right after he meets Sen, and they kinda have a relationship? One where they are together, but both don't really want to admit it? because theyre both fucking stupid lmao (jk its related to more serious things but yeah)
(this is where i pause bc im legally required to share a ref of him though i dont have a good and finished one so just take this)
Tumblr media
(fucken pastel anime boy babeeey)
-Sen is from Splatsville, he moved to Inkopolis alone to work towards a career goal by taking some extensive courses and apprenticeships. He is constantly overworking himself and being stressed due to it, but he really doesn't want to grow attached to anyone in Inkopolis because he is very deeply affected by separation. This move itself has been very hard for him, even though he still has contact with his friends back in the Splatlands, and he doesn't want to have to go through it again when he eventually goes back home. Well, that was the plan until he was forced to have a funny little guy who sticks like glue, as a treat :-)
..this is all I can confidently share for now, but there's a lil bit in the crock pot that I've been brainstorming because Splat 3 finally convinced me to take a dip on making the agents ocs. its THE GIRLS they're the ones featured in this post. i wanna do an alt story mode with them eventually but no promises since im bad at keeping my word LMAO
(small note i forgot to add, they are kinda connected to the main group bc they are sen's aforementioned friends they bully him on inkstagram)
(UPDATE) dear lord ive named them theyre Amber(Captain), Camellia(4), Elizabeth(8), and Goo(3) (<- but u say it more like its "gaw"). Lil' buddy is just lil' buddy but goo will occasionally call him cute lil nicknames when no one is lookin' so they do the fabled bABYTALK!!!!!!!!!
heres some extra stuff w them 😌
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
and these bc theyre funny
Tumblr media Tumblr media
theres definitely more of these but searching for them specifically is tough DJFHGHBGDF
i want you to know that ive been writing this on and off ever since you sent this ask

Geniiuineee3 genuine it genuine ^_^ what do you most want ever in the entire world ever!
oh!!! ok uhhh UH uh
this got long. i have so many daydreams about items i would enjoy having in my life srry
in terms of like, hopeful pipe dreams, i want a proper midline pc so i can play games on my computer without it absolutely Melting, but that kind of thing is prohibitively expensive. in terms of needs, i honestly just need more jammy pants and stuff like that since i've got a lot of worn out clothes i can't really afford to replace with anything but more clothes that'll wear out quickly. i just want quality stuff that'll last me more than a year or two... i also need more shampoo/conditioner/body wash im running out of all three
but in terms of smaller stuff, a silver the hedgehog plushie would be really nice. or a bunch of high-quality loose paper for using on my typewriter (all i have is sketchbooks and i don't like ripping them apart). maybe a proper dip pen, or a fountain pen with a flexible nib?? that would be really nice. i would also love to have a complete set of splatoon squid cushions, i have three but i would love to have all the colors in the original splatoon 1 run of them! or misc splatoon amiibo i don't have (octolings, squid sisters, the splatoon 3 amiibo)
lemme see. i'd love. fair trade milk chocolate and an actually good tasting alcoholic beverage of some kind.
OH SHIT WAIT, for sonic related stuff, i have a lot of wishes. the retail incentive covers of idw issue 50 i'm still missing from my collection, i'd also just love to own more of the metal virus arc physically, maybe one of the book collection thingies would be nice? i'd just love more physical sonic comics. i'd also love any figurines (not articulated toys though since the sonic franchise ones usually look really bad), a sonic or shadow plushie as well as a silver one, uhh MORE SONIC GAMES would be so cool!!! i'd love to check out the ds or gba sonics :) umm or just. art of my eggys. thats another thing i've been wanting to buy (er, commission) for a while now but art is a luxury and i need. clothes and body wash.
oh man, i've also been wanting a desk easel for a while since leaning down to draw is hell on my neck!! and i've wanted a neutral-to-cool temperature desk lamp so i can actually see yellow pigmented markers when i use them (and take better photos of my traditional art). these kinds of things are what i'm most likely to buy for myself
I CANNOT BELIEVE. I FORGOT. DOLLS. i love dolls of all kinds. barbie, monster high, ESPECIALLY rainbow high!!!, lol omgs.... i absolutely love doll collecting, it's one of my favorite hobbies. just seeing a bunch of cute dolls on my shelf makes me so happy, and considering most of them were gifts, it just reminds me that other people care. yknow? it's nice. i wanna get into doll customization but that ALSO kind of has a monetary gate to it, i'd need a lot of materials and need to practice a lot and i just. can't invest in that kind of thing.
actually scratch everything, if i could choose one (1) absolute miracle for christmas it'd be for my mom to get five million UNTAXED dollars. so she could buy a house and live comfortably for the rest of her life.
but uhh an actually achievable gift is to toss me five bucks on ko-fi so i can learn to drive once spring rolls around. adult driving lessons with accommodations for Brain Complications are expensive. money is honestly what i really need

My Ode to Splatoon 1
Nintendo peaked for me during the WiiU.
Gameboy, Gameboy SP, the Gamecube, the DS, the Wii. All those consoles left me as a fan of Nintendo for years. And over the years, I enjoyed the history of how the company got to where it is. My favorites were Super Mario World, Super Smash Bros Melee, Starfox (Up until Assault) Pokemon (Up until Heart Gold and Soul Silver), and Legend of Zelda (Up until Twilight Princess).
Then there's the WiiU...
When the WiiU came out, it was a mixed reaction for me. And my status as a fan waned along with my interest. I couldn't really catch up with anything and I heard of the flaws that the WiiU had. I moved onto Playstation and then PC and indie games (with Undertale being the gateway). I struggled to thrive in Patapon and Homestuck. I was also going through a philosophy stage with the Bioshock games.
This was also during a time that I was developing my Multiverse stories that would become my series, "In the Stargazer's Garden." I needed new content and I didn't expect the WiiU to give me that push.
Aside from Smash sort of saving the WiiU, Splatoon was a new IP that came into my life.
I didn't think much of the game until I kept seeing more art for it.
So, I gave it a try and delved into the story and art; I even went as far as making an RP account even before getting the game.
Then I finally got WiiU and the game that came with it. I got me to love third person shooters as shooting games all over again (Last game was Uncharted: Drake's Fortune and Killzone 3 on the PS3.)
I loved the Squid Sisters, I loved the faint lore of a post apocalyptic Earth, and I loved the storyline of the Great Turf War and it's aftermath.
Here on tumblr, I made new friends and enjoyed the lore of other's Splatoon OCs. I loved the art and stories. (But there were some hiccups and embarrassing moments with some drama along the way. I can only blame my teenage self's childish behavior.)
But it's also here that I've faced a reality that shattered me.
Cancel culture, witchhunts, drama, and social justice forced me to make a lot of difficult decisions. It felt like battle lines were drawn and friendships were shattered. People showed true colors while other broke up over things I just couldn't understand at the time. Today I know better
Splatoon community felt like a wasteland because of all this. But in the end, I just wanted to enjoy what is supposed to be a game. Now that I'm in my late 20s, I can't help but take those things as a learning lesson and thank Splatoon and it's community be more better than wall that happened.
I had stories to tell, art to draw and express, and turf wars to play with friends.
Today, I can't imagine what I can do without Splatoon 1.
Agent 7 and his Splatoon, and the Splatoon that I depicted in my stories (along with the Future Story Arc and the famous Project Titanomachy) wouldn't have existed without this game. And the same can be said with the Splatoon OCs you guys made; they were welcomed into my Splatoon stories and I fit them well like actors in a Hollywood set.
And even though some have cut ties with me for one reason or another, and there are those who I failed to keep in touch, I still consider friend after that.
So, thank you Splatoon, thank you Splatoon Community, and thank you Nintendo for this game.
-Agent 7 Mun.

GOD OKAY SO I've been going nuts with my Splatoon buddies for the past hour so I'm gonna like. Compile together my thoughts n theories
First part of the trailer, because it's not my focus
NEW MUSIC?? Oh god I am SO hyped for this soundtrack. Also LOOK at those new specials and stuff
It looks like we're going to see some Splatoon 2 specials return, since I believe there was an Inkjet in there! It makes sense lorewise, because the reason all the specials were replaced was because of some kind of weapons recall where they had to be overhauled. So I'm expecting a mix of brand new, Splatoon 2, and Splatoon 1 but remixed specials.
Anyway all that aside
STORYMODE
Fuzzy Octarians are kind of horrifying but at the same time I would 100% buy that plush
What would a mammalified Octoling look like? Are we going to see that? Obviously Octolings are now within Inkling society, but that doesn't mean all of them have reached the surface yet...
Clearly there's some genetic fuckery going on. The question is, to what end? Gonna come back to that bc first...
CALLIE, MARIE, AND AGENT 3!!
I'm so happy to see all of them back, I missed them. It's good to see them together! But also...
Tumblr media
Agent 3 is dressed VERY SIMILARLY to Splatoon 1 Captain Cuttlefish! And considering Cap'n is shown to be dressed in a Hawaiian shirt and khakis... I think he's retired, and passed on the mantle to Agent 3!
If that really is the case, then we'll be serving under the very protagonist we played as in the first game... god what a narratively interesting decision. I'm so excited.
Of course, this brings up the question of Agents 4 and 8, as well as Pearl and Marina. Personally? I think we'll be seeing another Octo-Expansion-esque addition at some point to Splatoon 3, and our other characters will make a comeback. I don't think they'd drop them, since they didn't drop Agent 3 and everyone agreed that was a cool as hell choice!
What's the deal with Octavio?
Because, to me anyway, it really doesn't seem like he's been set up as the "Final Boss" this time around. We see him in the trailer, in that big robot! And also, he's not... fuzzified? Not sure what that means, but I don't think he's our main antagonist this time.
I kind of wonder if maybe he's no longer an antagonist, like, at all. After all, what would he gain by making Octos... mammals? Plus, we've done that song and dance twice now. Maybe this is a twist, a sort of "enemy of my enemy id my friend, let's join forces" thing? Maybe not, but there's some food for thought.
So if it isn't Octavio, who is the main antagonist? I'll tell you
It's fucking Grizz
Okay like I have gone bonkers abt this before and SO FAR I THINK I'M RIGHT. Especially this one bit like let's focus on one thing here
Ruins of Arc Polaris
Aside from being the best Salmon Run map, the Ruins are notable because they are the standing remnant of humanity's last ditch attempt at survival. A sort of space age Noah's Arc, filled with some of the last of the age of mammals, hoping to find refuge among the stars. Signs still remain that say "Beware of Bears"
Bears, you say? Grizzly bears, maybe?
I know a lot of other people don't like the idea of Grizz being an actual bear. Maybe he is, maybe he isn't. He could be a bear, preserved, even immortalized, like Judd. He could be an AI, like Tartar. What's important is the idea that he is a remnant of Humanity. Of Mammals. Something that would see benefit in bringing back mammals...
...and something that may, for unclear reasons, try and recreate the Arc.
The Arc was a massive spaceship. Now I'm sure I don't need to remind you what was centerstage in the final seconds of the trailer.
It gives a reason for Grizz to have all those eggs. It gives a reasonable connection to mammals. How it all ties together? Well, we'll just have to wait and see
Hi thanks for coming back to Ink's Squid Conspiracies see you next time

ive made a few of these bingo sheets and theyre fun so i decided to make one not just for e3 but also JUST for splatoon 3 (not just for e3 but for like the whole lifetime of the game). also heres my updated list of characters id like to see in smash, ordered generally by which id like more and/or think are the most realistic
since min min got in i took out helix, and since i couldnt decide whether to add in waluigi or madeline i added another row (realistically i dont think any indies are getting in but i threw some in anyway). also i was like “oh yeah maybe theyd put in a gen viii pokemon” so i threw in hatterene since thats one of my favorites.
also as for waluigi (and shovel knight for that matter) i think it would be nice to see an assist trophy get in just to break that rule. also i remember being super surprised he wasnt in brawl (back then i thought he and wario were equally important) and even though that was based on a wrong impression ive still felt like he should be in there ever since
notes about the bingos under the cut
really is about time for those n64 games, especially now that mario is dead so theyre free to release sm64 on it. game boy games would be nice sometime too
would also make sense to include banjo-kazooie in that, nintendos had a good relationship with microsoft lately and the total absence of anything banjo-kazooie on the switch is odd since it’s a dlc character (every other one has a game on switch they can use for cross-marketing, even if joker’s took a while) and i think the best explanation for that would be that theyre holding off for the nso n64 app (this is easiest from a technical standpoint because all they have to do is make a deal to use the roms)
when are they putting octolings in mk8d
xenoblade chronicles x is one of the only wii u games left that they could port (aside from ones that wouldnt make much sense like splatoon and ssb4) so i guess that might as well happen sometime. also monolith soft might be doing something else besides helping with splatoon 3
im not ready for metroid prime 4 (im over halfway through mp2 and therefore the trilogy as a whole) but it’s been a while, they might show it and it could even come out this year
hal apparently recently hinted at a new kirby game or something
the upgraded switch is obviously going to be called the Nintendo Switch ͥ  since they already did the ds lite so theyre clearly naming everything in the family after the ds family, theres absolutely no flaw in this logic. idk if theyre showing it, but unlike 2019 they didnt say they werent showing new hardware (just that they were showing software, which could be taken as denying rumors, but they sometimes specify when certain things arent being shown)
metroid prime trilogy also might come this year. would make sense to release it before mp4 since not everyone is going to buy a wii u to get it (and at this point that doesnt get nintendo any money since they stopped making them)
where is detective pikachu 2. i hope it has the blue pikachu from that first tease they gave us in like 2014 (2013? that was a loooong time ago idk)
they said this was MOSTLY 2021 so i am absolutely getting my hopes up for splatoon 2
the two sinnoh games could likely be there
would be super cool if oddity came to switch. and almost as ironic as megalovania getting into smash
we havent seen the botw sequel for a couple years so we’re kind of due for an update on that
it’s ace attorney’s 20th anniversary this year so maybe theyre doing something. theyre already porting those games though so idk. maybe he’s getting in smash
whats with that watermelon mario render
i held off on watching a playthrough for ndrv3 on the off chance it came to switch and i could play a dangan ronpa game for real for once but it’s now been 4 years and we just passed the 10th anniversary of the series (albeit during a pandemic when i wouldnt expect them to have done anything) so it would be cool to see the series come to switch. i think if it still doesnt after this though i’ll just watch the playthrough, 4 years is long enough. amazed ive avoided spoilers this long, i still know next to nothing about the game
im about done with acnh but im still waiting on those splatoon items. and i ran out of storage in february so i need more of that too
nintendo did stuff for zelda’s 30th anniversary so i doubt theyre forgetting the 35th. maybe wwhd/tphd ports, idk
been a couple years since fire emblem, intelligent systems is probably up to something besides planning yet another paper mario spinoff
miyamoto forgot pikmin 4 in the oven 6 years ago and it got burnt to a crisp and thats why it hasnt come out yet because he had to start over
and splatoon
the inklings scared daft punk into quitting so now that theres no competition in the robot musician scene they should have a daft punk style group
i waited and waited and neither of my top two splatoon stages (flounder and d’alfonsino) came back in splatoon 2 so i hope just because splatoon 3 isnt in inkopolis doesnt mean they still wont return
would be sick as hell if there was a real hide and seek mode instead of just sticking to your own rules in private battles. havent played that since 2015 but it was super fun
show us the effects of the chaos world
i wanted mc craig to have a song in octo expansion and they didnt deliver. heres another chance
splatnet 3 baby
cant wait for nogami to do a funny 3 pose
abxy came back for splatoon 2.... am i gonna be that lucky again...?
salmon run doesnt make sense if youre friends with a smallfry but they could either change the story context (you just fight “evil” salmonids?) or replace it with an equally fun co-op mode
amiibo!!! i think i said this before but they should label them by weapons if these cephalopods dont have genders, would make more sense (the gendered ones had different weapons anyway)
returning characters!!!! would like to see everyone have a role of some kind
maybe #GearForAll wasnt successful in getting the emperor/spy/mecha gear, but perhaps theyll at least consider not making that stuff exclusive this time around
squid girl gear should be back. and they should call it a dress instead of a tunic because its a dress. and theres no gender now anyway
as ive said before... TRIPLIES!! you hold one in each hand and another in your mouth. and you can spin around like the tasmanian devil
remove splatfest tee annoyances: you should have a prompt at the end of a splatfest to pay to scrub your tee (to make sure you get the chunks) also it should be on a neutral brand so you dont end up with an overabundance of ink resistance up (or whatever else)
better online and cloud saves would certainly justify having a second splatoon game on the same console, as much as im loving that it exists
hopefully theres a global testfire again
sooner or later the workers will rise up and kill mr grizz
remember in splatoon 1 where if you had squid beatz (via the amiibo) you could “play” it in the lobby and change the music? then you were stuck listening to only bubble bath in splatoon 2? why did they take that option away they should bring it back
looking at those apartment buildings in the trailer i think it would be cool if you had your own room and could decorate it
an octavio redemption arc would be fun to see. in the manga he stole the zapfish because the octarians had an energy crisis, and in the end they worked out a deal to share the electricity

GIVE ME HUMAN LOVEKOV HOLY SHIT OMG PLEAAAAAASE 💙💛💙💛💙💛 Actually, now that Kagerou's poofed like a down pillow, I'm sad because they missed a prime opportunity to have an ep where the sibs are overtaken by their demons, and Vice, Kagerou, and Lovekov get to interact with each other. Also I'm sure Sakura's actress would have a blast acting as the cutie snek. And if you have a squid-shaped hole in ur heart, may I recommend: Splatoon? 3rd game's coming out this year join meeeeee - Spoiler Anon
LMAOOOOO ahHhHhhhhhhhhh
I'll be on the "Kagerou never died" train from now till Revice shows up at my house and kills me itself
Lmao, Spoiler-anon this....Has gotta be the best Splatoon ad I've ever seen.
Tumblr media
But DUDE I could TOTALLY see Lovekov!Sakura....Lovkura...
Objectively, I think Sakura's growth has a lot of interesting room for exploration -- especially where she's at now narratively
And I say this cause like last week I finally got around to analyzing Sakura's henshin and Kamen Rider Title
(Always gotta be a clown when it comes to ladies. Me and Inoue fall on similar scales when it comes to females, except unlike him I took gender studies LOL.)
Honestly tho.
Sakura Analysis LET"S GET IT
First off, I want to note here that Sakura's KR title is VERY interesting. Because all the other titles relate directly to the MCs inner-demons.
Ikki -- that he must revisit his vices (continually) until he accepts both them and himself;
Daiji -- Being forced to learn how to "LIVE" with the more "EVIL" aspects of his personality. Aka how Daiji has to find the middle ground for: Anger (Madness) vs Insecurity (Precious), his feelings of Hopeless-ness vs. His desire to be Trusted (Trust Us), and of course Justice vs. Darkness
Demons -- Self-sacrifice (Hiromi) (Junpei) -- prolly something else for Olteca idk
Vail - The 'veil' that truth hides behind when its too hard to accept.
BUT SAKURA???
She's the only one who has a person's NAME as part of her title. So why?? What makes her different from the others? What does this difference mean and what does 'Jeanne even REPRESENT?' (Let's get into it >:DD )
Title: Kamen Rider Jeanne
Meaning: Depends on the 'Jeanne' in question here. But my guess? Jeanne D'arc, aka Joan of Arc.
History-wise, Joan of Arc is a famous female french martyr.
There was a war going on (Between France and. England. This was during the Hundred Years War during the 1400s) and she became a heroine that inspired the masses through her continuous victories at war. And is still revered to this day.
1) She was a teenager. Actually the exact same age as Sakura is now. (18).
(interesting that she’s a known martyr….rlly…the Igarashi’s….)
Tumblr media
Sakura is still growing up. She's still in high school --and is not yet out-out in the adult world --->likewise the first time Jeanne experienced “real life” was when she enlisted in the war
For the above screenshot, Sakura blows up at Ikki because this is like the first time she's had to learn/see her father (ikki) as someone human. (That they aren't superman, yknow?)
(Goes to show just how much more she has to mature.)
So the fact that her name is Kamen Rider Jeanne ALSO tells the audience that Sakura is a kid — Having a famous heroine as part of your title?
Y’know (ngl) kinda seems like when a teen chooses a fantasy fiction role model as their OC or something.
Except it’s not fantasy. Jeanne D'arc is a real figure. And likewise -- 'Jeanne' is also very quickly becoming real life for Sakura.
Interesting Aside here on religion:
Jeanne began to hear voices at like 13 or 14, and eventually at around 18 she decided to go and ask for an army to lead into battle because 'God told her to.' (And so she did.)
So-- how does this relate to Sakura's inner demon?
Tumblr media
Well, Lovekov — is a SNAKE 🐍. And snakes are mostly used to represent the bad, the deceitful, and evil. This is because of how the Devil used a snake as its disguise (in the Bible) in order to try and convince Eve to eat a fruit from the One Forbidden Tree --
A fruit from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil
(Otherwise known as the Tree of Life.)
Now pay VERY close attention to these quotes -- with Sakura and the Igarashi's in the back of your mind as you do so
And I quote:
Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?”
2 The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, 3 but God did say, ‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.’”
4 “You will not certainly die,” the serpent said to the woman.
5 “For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”
----(Genesis 3: 1-5)
It is FASCINATING to me that this takes place in chapter THREE and Sakura is the 3rd born sibling.
See, yeah Sakura is a teenager, a "child" but she's not a baby. She knows what "good" and "evil" are. Except that's just it -- her view of Good and Evil as a binary -- just black and white, legit the dictionary definition of the terms. This is a viewpoint that needed to change.
And these changes began from the moment Kamen Riders entered her life, even more so once she became one. Prior to this, Sakura was 'Ignorant' to the ways of the world.
And the harsh realities "of Life."
Tumblr media
The snake convinced Eve to eat from what tree again? The tree of life. And to even turn into Jeanne, Sakura had to accept herself and her vulnerabilities. She had to 'open her eyes' to what was in front of her. But once she did take that step?
Tumblr media
Well. There was no turning back. And now she has to deal with The Fall. Now she has to deal with Sin.
Hnnrghghhhj symbolic.
TLDR;
Tumblr media
One of the big things Sakura is learning about is deceit --
Notice how above although she says "Why can't everyone just be honest," She still lies to everyone else about Weekend up until THEY reveal themselves and she has no choice LOL.
Tumblr media
Legit in episode 26 Sakura outright lies to Ikki when he asks where she's going. This shows her....idk her? 'growth'? LMAO.
Now Henshin transformation and Jingle?
uhhh I've already written a lot so :/. Even tho I already know the answer I guess Ill post it later LOL.

Hey whos the mod?
That’d be @goddesssword ! If you just want the basics instead of digging through the hellscape that is my main blog, heres a quick little about:
I go by Garnet or Lane or sometimes Brielle! I’m 20, genderfluid and pan, and I use she/they/he pronouns. Basically I’m kind of a big dumb nerd who plays too many video games, especially nintendo ones lmao. Splatoon is really important to me! I particularly focus on the singleplayer, to the point that I’m working on a comic titled Greyscales based somewhat on the events of Octo Valley, Octo Canyon, and Deepsea Metro - I’ve been working on it, even as just a concept, for about two and a half years now. There’s a chance you might have seen a very very very early concept back on miiverse before it shut down? The original iteration of the story was posted on there as screenshots featuring the protagonist’s reactions to events of the game :0 Greyscales as it is today doesn’t follow the events of the games exactly, but it uses them as a basis for the most part. I’m currently replaying Octo Expansion to get story and gameplay notes for that arc of the comic!
Anyway, geeking out about cephalopods aside, I try to be a decent person! That said, I’m only human unless you wanna count kin stuff but I try not to be too kinnie on main so hvgfhghjn so naturally I do screw up sometimes - if I ever do mess up or if you ever need me to do something like tag certain things or if I missed a tag or if you’d like me to change the tags on a piece of art you did that I reblogged please lemme know okay? :0 (On a related note I try to use they/them pronouns when talking about fancharacters whose pronouns aren’t mentioned in the post to keep it neutral! If I ever reblog something of yours and you want me to change the pronouns I use to refer to your character hmu I’ll do it no problem~)
Outside of that sort of stuff? Uh… well, I’m from New England, and I actually work full time at a fish market irl which is pretty fitting haha! We sell squid there. Octopus too. I’ve had calamari before and it was pretty good but I’ve never had octopus and I want to try it but at the same time I don’t want to know I’m eating octopus because I wouldn’t be able to bring myself to eat it then? Both because Splatoon and also because real octopi are pretty freaking intelligent and it feels weird eating something that’s probably smarter than I am lol. As you probably gathered from the comic stuff up above, I enjoy writing, gaming, drawing, and having Way Too Many Characters, though I struggle to keep up with it all alongside my job and my usual mental/physical health and executive dysfunction stuff ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
So yeah, tl;dr - I’m Garnet, I like Splatoon too much, and I’m basically just an awkward nerd who’s trying too hard :’) Thanks for asking!

The English Voices of Naruto, Boruto, and Sailor Jupiter Offer Their Advice to Aspiring Voice Actors
VIZ Media held their World of Voice-Acting panel this past weekend with special guests from the English voice casts of Naruto, Boruto, and Sailor Moon. The guests were led in a guided Q&A by Urian Brown from VIZ, and fans were given the opportunity to ask questions as well. The panel began with a rundown from Brown of VIZ titles releasing next year, such as Fushigi Yugi: Byakko Senki, How Do We Relationship?, and Ping Pong. He also announced that VIZ would be releasing Splatoon: Squid Kids Comedy Show and Junji Ito’s Venus in the Blind Spot collection in summer and fall of 2020, respectively.
He then introduced the first two guests from Sailor Moon: Amanda Miller, who plays Sailor Jupiter, and Erika Harlacher, who plays Sailor Star Maker, and began the Q&A by asking how they became voice actors. Amanda said that she had always been a theater nerd, so she ended up taking some classes from Tony Oliver when he came to her college. She enjoyed dubbing over anime and video games in those classes and Oliver saw her talent and recommended she pursue voice acting. She ended up getting an internship at a studio in LA where she occasionally filled in for bit parts until they started letting her audition for better roles.
Erika said she’d gone into college leaning towards graphic or computer design because she wanted a job related to cartoons and games. She also ended up taking classes with Tony Oliver who suggested she pursue voice acting as a career, got a studio internship, and filled in for bit parts before eventually auditioning for bigger roles. It just so happened to be the same studio Amanda was interning at too. “Know Tony Oliver is the secret here,” Brown added.
He asked Amanda if playing a role like Jupiter is fun at all. “Jupiter was my favorite character as a kid,” Amanda answered. She’d grown up relating to her as a taller, more athletic kid, and Jupiter helped show her that you don’t have to be just a tough kid or just a soft kid. When asked about her first recording session for Sailor Jupiter, she admitted that the whole process had made her incredibly nervous given her history with the character and the fact that approvals for the dub voices had gone through the original creator Naoko Takeuchi herself. The director had to take her aside to call her down, and Stephanie Shea, the voice of Sailor Moon, had to call her and tell her to “suck it up.”
“Also, I accidentally punched her in the face at AX backstage,” she said. “I had just met her that day.”
Brown asked Erika if she was as cool and aloof as Sailor Star Maker in real life. “I am the opposite of both those things,” she said. “I’m not cool at all and very high strung.” She said she had to reach deep down into her “acting database” for the role.
When asked who their favorite weird monster they fought in the show was, Amanda said there was one monster they all called the Katy Perry monster because it was themed around sweets, which reminded everyone of Katy Perry’s “California Girls” video. “It’s true. All girls from California can shoot frosting,” Erika revealed.
Brown pointed out that the Starlights in Sailor Moon are only around for one season but are still fan favorites, and asked Erika what she thought their appeal was. In addition to their fashion sense being “on point,” Erika said that their arc felt bigger and more impactful than one single season. Amanda added that there’s a “forbidden fruit” factor to it, given the season they appear in wasn’t originally dubbed before, meaning the only way to watch it as a kid was to somehow get your hands on the Japanese version. Erika admitted she hadn’t even known they existed before.
When asked if there was any pressure coming into a role that already had so many fans, Amanda said there was “a lot of pressure” given how many fans relate to the character as she did, but that the fanbase has been extremely welcoming and supportive of her.
Both were asked what their most practical advice for anyone serious about pursuing voice acting was. Amanda suggested that you pursue acting on a screen or stage first since the restrictions of voice acting add even more challenge. Theater and singing lessons are good for helping you maneuver your voice, and improv would help as well. Erika seconded the improv suggestion since oftentimes as a voice actor you won’t get scripts ahead of time or be forced to entirely change direction with a character on the fly.
With the Sailor Moon questions out of the way, Erika went backstage and Brown introduced another guest: Maile Flanagan, the longtime voice of Naruto Uzumaki. Amanda Miller, as the voice of Boruto Uzumaki, remained for the Naruto portion. A clip of the two performing together in Boruto: Naruto the Movie was played, showcasing their voices.
Brown noted that Naruto is currently celebrating its 20th anniversary and asked what that journey from the very beginning has been like for Maile. “A long one,” she joked. “I’ve aged considerably.” He then turned to Amanda and asked her what it’s been like suddenly jumping in with Boruto. She said that it’s been one thing with Sailor Moon where it ran and ended, whereas Naruto has been running for 20 straight. Fans have grown up with Naruto into adulthood, she said, so they’ll chastise her for being mad at him as Boruto. “It’s good, but it’s also funny.”
When asked about how she got into voice acting, Maile revealed she had never wanted to become an actor. She’d gone to college for math and polyscience, but ended up joining an improv group that did well and relocated to Minneapolis. She started working there before moving to LA and doing commercials. She eventually began taking voiceover classes and got her very first roles in the Men in Black and Jackie Chan cartoons within the same week.
Maile was asked what the first recording session for Naruto was like, she admitted that it had been really hard and that she wishes she could do them over again since she hadn’t gotten to know him as a character yet. She’d also found out how huge the series already was in Japan and it made her nervous.
Brown asked Amanda if she tried modeling Boruto’s voice after Naruto’s. “I couldn’t even try,” she said. “Maile has such a unique voice.” The voice she uses for Boruto is more like her natural voice, and she also realized it’s nearly identical to her “making fun of people” voice.
When asked if she sees Yuri Lowenthal as a rival at all considering he voiced Sasuke, Maile said she doesn’t consider anyone her voice acting rival, and added that men in voice acting get more work than women anyway, though the inequity is slowly getting better.
Amanda was asked if she thinks Boruto has grown at all since his story started, to which she said that it’s still too early to really tell, though she sees his frustration with Naruto as motivated by the fact that he still remembers a time when his dad was much more present before he became Hokage.
Maile said her advice for aspiring voice actors is to have confidence, because if you don’t they’ll never give you the job. Amanda added that changing your posture can help change your performance. Erika came back out on stage, and as the panel closed all were invited to give some final advice. Amanda said to be yourself instead of trying to be like someone else. Maile stressed practicing and putting in the work. Erika echoed Maile, adding that it’s both a lot of fun and a lot of hard work.
While the panel held a great deal of good advice for aspiring voice actors, it also served as a great example of how dubs can breathe new life into an old series. Sailor Moon may have ended long ago, but the recent dub delivered something entirely new to longtime fans everywhere. Meanwhile, Naruto lives on through Boruto, adding new members to its illustrious cast with every season. Who knows, maybe someday you could voice the same characters you look up to now. All you need is a little luck, a lot of hard work, and the personal tutelage of Tony Oliver.
