One reason I can rest easy is knowing that they- the legends of tomorrow cast and crew- gave us their all.
They gave us such a diverse cast. They gave us queer and poc characters and storylines unapologetically.
They told us it was okay to say the word “lesbian”- it isn’t a bad word. They took the bury your gays trope and kicked its ass.
They told us that when they imagined a perfect woman- it was a lesbian.
They gave us Muslim characters who never compromised their beliefs.
They gave us redemption time after time again, they told us it was okay to change for the better and to believe in ourselves.
They gave us queer kisses that saved the world- twice! They gave us beebo. They gave us the waverider! They gave us a time moms wedding, pregnancy, and a baby- not necessarily in that order. They gave us the bullet blondes!!
They told us that it was okay to be affectionate with your bros.
They gave us healing and growth.
They gave us an asexual character who said the actual words!
They gave us an AI who taught us what it means to be human.
They gave us a family. They gave us love is love is love is love is love
They didn’t give us heroes- they gave us legends

The six weeks of retirement after they left the Waverider was the first real break that the legends have had since the end of season 4. Like all of season 5 they were chasing after the fates, then Sara got abducted immediately after that, and then right after they beat Bishop he comes back and destroys the ship and they’re stranded in 1925. They’ve just been non-stop for literally three seasons.

TV Series Discussion: Legends of Tomorrow
Season 6 (2021)

Time-traveling rogue Rip Hunter must recruit a ragtag team of heroes and villains to help prevent an apocalypse that could impact not only Earth, but all of time.

Still Fun but Boring As Well
Yes, ultimately, I still had a good time with Legends of Tomorrow Season 6. However, I cannot deny that the writing for this season was not the best nor most engaging. And many things about this season frustrated me.
Starting with Sara's new mutated clone identity. After everything Sara Lance went through (and I mean everything, including her Arrow days), the writers actually had her killed, cloned and mutated into some half-human half-alien hybrid clone? I seriously hate this storyline. This could have happened to anyone else and I would have loved it, anyone but Sara. It's as if the writers decided everything Sara went through can afford to be erased and replaced by what they deemed superior to the original Sara...
Next being Ava's somewhat identity crisis. Our lady here already went through her identity crisis, why did the writers give her another identity crisis in season 6? I get it, Ava's a clone but she's different, she had feelings and emotions and vulnerabilities. Unfortunately, Ava did not need identity crisis 2.0.
Moving on, Spooner's addition. I cannot help but think Spooner was added into the Legends, written the way she was just to replace an equally violent and impulsive member of the Legends, Mick. Neither her character arc nor her characteristics were particularly enticing, honestly speaking.
Last but not least, John's character arc. Seriously, WHY?
I miss those days when Legends of Tomorrow had comedy, drama and action every other episode. This season fell short, it was quite monotonous. The action was almost non-existent, the villains were not good and so much was spent on developing the overarching plot of season 6, it just did not feel worth it.
Which brings me back to, I truly did enjoy this season. Sadly, it's just losing the essence that is Legends of Tomorrow.
Rating: ★★★☆☆

Just read this morning that Legends of Tomorrow is officially canceled, and I’m just absolutely gutted.  I cannot say how much this oddball of a show has meant to me.
Legends could have just been another CW superhero show.  On paper, and in practice, there’s an easy and successful formula for that.  Instead they chose to give us a band of misfits just doing their best to fix things, some outright hijinks, a few musical numbers I am still blown away by, wonderful relationships, more than a few tears, and quite frankly some great life advice.
I honestly cannot convey how much I’ll miss this show and these characters.
Having the end of the series be them getting arrested does seem pretty on point though.

Happy Pride everyone!
In celebration of Pride month, I decided to make an edit of the characters that mean a lot to me as an asexual person.
Yelena Belova from “Marvel” - Yelena is a canonically aroace character in the comics, and though her sexuality has not been confirmed in the MCU yet, she is highly headcanoned as such. She is one of my favourite characters, and her being ace means the world to me.
Spooner from “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow” - Spooner is a canonically asexual character. Though I haven’t watched season 7 yet, I’ve known that she was asexual before I started watching the show. She is a very cool character, one that I fell in love with very quickly, and the fact that she’s asexual makes me very happy.
Michael Scofield from “Prison Break” - Michael is not canonically ace, which isn’t surprising, the show came out in 2005, but I headcanon him as such. I’ve spoken about how much he means to me as a character that reads as asexual before, but I’m gonna reiterate. This man literally means the whole world to me, as a character that seems to show little sexual interest, but is still in a loving, romantic relationship!
Here’s your friendly reminder that representation is important, and makes people feel seen.

AFW 2023 Day One
@arospecfanworksweek
Rating: Gen
Fandom: DC Legends of Tomorrow
Prompt: 'struggling with one’s identity'
Warnings: Internalised arophobia and mention of biphobia.
"What's so bad about being normal?" Spooner appealed to Constantine. "You don't think that kid would give just about anything to have a normal life again? I know I would."
Even after everything, Spooner still clung to the idea of normal for herself. Nothing had ever felt normal for her. She would have given anything for just one thing and Constantine, obsessed with his magic, just didn't understand.
"Yeah well," Constantine responded, "some people want picket fences and ponies, don't they?"
Hearing the frustrated words, Spooner was brought up short. Underneath the harsh tone was a weariness she was familiar with in herself.
That cookie cutter life with marriage and kids and romance had never been something Spooner had wanted. It was just another abnormality, more that the aliens had taken. Constantine was the first to mention a similar feeling.
However, Constantine had never been abducted by aliens. At least, he hadn't said so. It was different for him.
Frustrated herself, Spooner demanded to know why she should help Constantine.
"You know where I'm from, being normal is..." Constantine was intense as he explained why magic was so important to him and why he didn't care to be 'normal'. "It's being told that only degenerates can fancy men and women."
Spooner's mind leapt into action as she considered the possibility. Maybe she was like Constantine.
Zoning out a bit, Spooner struggled to think back, categorising every feeling she'd ever had towards people. There wasn't much difference between genders. If she liked someone, they were cool to hang out with.
That didn't really seem to be what Constantine was talking about though. Similar maybe, but not the same.
"The ability to break the rules..." Constantine was saying, getting Spooner's attention again. "That's who I am."
It was cool for Constantine. Why magic was so important to him was making sense. Only Spooner wished she knew herself like Constantine knew himself, rather than just feeling deficient.
