the reason why zane acts different in the wildbrain seasons is bc he is a fundamentally different person after ice emperor imo and i genuinely like the idea that not all his new personalities quirks are super negative. Sometimes a trauma changes you and the new you is fine, actually.

Hi @spinchip I saw your post about wanting to commission Ice Emperor x Sea Nya and I was like "Oh! I could draw that for him! Plus sounds like a pretty interesting ship" and within minutes of drawing it I was fucking obsessed

So obsessed in fact that I made a playlist for them as well 😁

My entry for @spinchip 's DTIYS !! I hope you like it, I've tried to be as creative as possible :)

Normally I don't post here as I cannot use tumblr at all, but I just had to,, I love Zane, I love The Ice Emperor, I love drawing contests,,

I've tried to make it look like a stained glass window since the ninja are (sometimes) treated like the saviours and just thought that since Zane already had a funeral and a statue they should've made him a little more artsy stuff too.

I've tried to make his face fit the dtiys' one with the faceplate chipped off, 'blood' oozing out, the black eyes, and the shoulder pads,,, :3

Congrats on 4k, you deserve it <3

This is my piece for @spinchip's Draw This In Your Style.

My main goal here was to riff of of the fact that in the initial drawing, whether intentionally or not, Zane's arm placement makes it look like he is taking a selfie. Furthermore, all of you must know by now that I love all kinds of contrast, in this case the "blood" and inscription paired with Zane's big smile. This is, I believe, furthered by the fact that it is hard to tell if Zane is winking, or if his eye is legitimately forced closed by his head injury.

As you all also know, it has been a while since I last drew (or at least, posted) a Zane. I've done many, many other drawings since and like to think I've improved quite a bit, but nonetheless I sat before my empty canvas wondering whether I would still be able to capture Zane in that same style. I'm pleased to report that I've still got it, folks.

My very first post here!!

This was so much fun, I love the Ice emperor and I love @spinchip's art so much - Whenever I see a new post I start to run in circles. /srs

Spinchip always gives me so much motivation for drawing just by existing. I swear that as soon as I'll be able to, I'll order some stuff from his etsy. (Sorry for being annoying I'm just VERY excited. XD)

Since I love Ice emperor/Zane so much, this was a great opportunity to draw him and maybe also win a price for it. Thank you again!!

This particular piece was drawn for @spinchip’s dtiys!! Because i can never resist one of those. This was actually surprisingly difficult (both because i had to figure out how to draw zane and because drawing any sort of armor is my archenemy) so this is why i am posting it now because if i don’t i will hurl my tablet out the window. But i had fun.

He says, but I don't think he realizes they're completely different! I recently read Never The Dark by @spinchip (i totally recommend it it is SO GOOD), and I felt like I HAD to draw my own silly guy with Broden Voss! (They have a couple of vague similarities :D)

This took. forever. I got a little burnt out at the end, so I'm sorry if there's any mistakes or anything I missed. But I powered through!

Broden Voss (right) belongs to Spinchip, and Dr. Hatchgate (left) belongs to me!

I don't really have available info on my guy but if people are curious I'll gladly make a master post for him and answers asks about him :)

So my sibs and I were watching (in my case re-watching) and around that time where Zane was in the sick bay they immediately went:

"Why are the readings for a human—"

Which, to be fair, is a very good question. I propose two theories on this:

I. The systems were rigged that way to make it easier to understand. II. Zane has a heavily human-based system.

My rationale for each one is under the cut and, yes, it's long.

Yes, I have assignments and I am in college! Why'd you ask? :P

I. The systems were rigged that way to make it easier to understand.

I think the only persons who are well-versed in mechanical stuff is Jay and Nya. With all the disastrous situations Zane finds himself in usually land him in the sick bay, and as with a human patient you usually have to have someone looking over them.

Now technological whatnot is going to be hard to understand for someone who doesn't have a background in it (except maybe for red is bad and green is good idk), so I think Jay and Nya made it so that the displays show what it would look like for a human. Because who isn't familiar with heart monitors and stuff?

I like the thought that Jay and Nya amended the systems for the others to better understand it and so that when something goes wrong they can immediately be told what's wrong, which can save time. I think it's pretty neat.

(Disclaimer: Yes, I still am mildly affronted by how... inaccurate the systems are, but that's a discussion for another post.)

And the one I prefer:

II. Zane has a heavily human-based system.

(People who read spinchip are probably either rolling their eyes or leaning forwards. Or both)

You might tell me, 'Well, duh, Nin,' but hear me out.

Julien predated Borg when he created Zane, and it's all but implied that Zane's blueprints were probably what Borg used to create Pixal and consecutively what the Overlord used for his evil clone army back in S3.

Now take into account that Julien has had no other reference for creating an android out of what mechanics he already has in mind. Also that Zane was created with two main purposes: to be a defense droid ('protect those who cannot protect themselves') and to be Julien's son.

Here we can see he has lungs (I personally think that's just the cooling fans because idk how you'll make artificial lungs out of metal or smth) and a heart (his core most probably, though I really don't think it's gonna be a pump but something that disperses electricity through the body the same way the human heart distributes blood around). There's also a spine—probably where all the sensors find their locus.

Though I'm wondering why just those three on the screen? We don't even have the neural network there (unless you count the spine being that?? Somehow??)

The fanfic potential of this thing HM-

TLDR: I. The systems were rigged that way to make it easier to understand. II. Zane has a heavily human-based system.
