Lore notes: Abbey Veilspun

Stardust Abbey has a surprisingly large population of Veilspun. Most of them are descended from a secret colony that lived in the Starfall Isles before Veils became public knowledge; following their reveal, the colony splintered as different subsets moved towards different areas of public life. One small group ended up at the Abbey, swearing themselves to the service of the Arcanist.

Notable individuals:

Sparrow is the Abbey’s second-in-command, a middle-aged dragon who ensures that things run smoothly and Abbess Coragyps’ commands are carried out. She’s somewhat strict, but cares for the dragons under her command.

Winterclaw is the head of the Department of Eldritch secrets. He comes across as cold and intimidating, but this is a deliberate façade to dissuade people from trying to access his department; in truth he’s quite friendly, and is a loving mate to Sparrow and father to their several children.

Chrysis, who runs the Department of Entomology, isn’t actually part of the Abbey colony and is quite tired of the pressure to join it. He has no need for other Veilspun’s social games, and his coatl mate Carina is quite enough warmth to keep him out of torpor, thank you very much.
