You know,
Despite Reginald being the shittiest dad ever
I think it’s funny that he’s as far as I know not racist or sexist or homophobic or transphobic at all
Like I guarantee you none of the kids told him that they were LGBTQ cuz he would just be like “you’re gay? …okay?? Anyway back to training and trauma come on”

Diego: Why’s Ben hobbling around and crying
Klaus: Five kicked him very hard in the ankle
Five: And I’d do it again

Have you ever lost someone and then you just feel like you see that someone everywhere? Every place, every street, everyone, reminds you of the memories you hold dearly close to your heart no matter how hurt it is to remember for you refuse to ever forget about it. It hurts so much it does, but that’s the price you have to pay.
The first time she saw him again after going back from the 60s with the dysfunctional bunch of siblings, she thought she was dreaming. Perhaps, it’ll be easier if it were just a dream. Cause now she has to look at the face—at the body of someone who once had loved her and found nothing. A stranger with the face of the love of her life.
Same name. Same face. Different memories.
But does it all even matter now? The world is ending in hours. She could meet her Ben again, that only if he really does exist. She has never been the one to fully understand the concept of time and Five doesn’t speak in a language that she is capable of understanding.
She raised her glass of champagne in Luther’s direction as he danced with his newfound love before averting her gaze to take a look around the room. Diego and Lila being in each other's arms. Klaus being Klaus. Five who seem to be enjoying his time with the number of empty glasses on his table. And lastly, him. Sitting on the table far back from everybody else, drinking quietly as his eyes, too, roamed around the room. Even from a distance between the two, she could tell that he was judging all of them silently.
Slowly she rose and walked toward him with her glass wrapped around her fingers. Once she arrived at the spot, she gestured to the seat next to him. “May I?” Without hearing any response from him, she sat herself on the seat, putting her glass on the table. “The party is over there yet you distance yourself from the others, emo boy.”
He rolled his eyes at the nickname she gave him. “If anyone here is emo that would be your brother. All brooding, laying down alone in my room, wearing nothing but black.” He looked over at Viktor and she followed his line of gaze. “First, Viktor isn’t emo, and second, you just prove my point here.” She gestured to his situation right now. “You just described yourself.”
The look in his eyes was nothing like her Ben as he glared at her, glass tightly wrapped around his fingers. “Look, if you’re going here just to brag about your oh-so-perfect Ben. The others had took their chance every time they passed me so don’t even bother.” He leaned forwards to her—trying to somewhat looking intimidating as she looks at him, totally unfazed by it.
“No.” She leaned closer to him as he leaned back, clicking her glass with his. “That is a too sensitive topic for me to talk about. Actually, I was trying to give you some company.”
“Well, I don’t need your company.” He talked back.
She leaned her back on the seat. “Too bad. I’m already comfortable sitting here.”
“Then I’ll just go away from here.” He got up, looking at her irritatingly, clearly annoyed by her presence. Turning around he began to walked away from the girl that has been haunting his mind, but then she said something that made him stop. “You know you don’t want to, Ben. You wished to stay here. You want someone to tell you to stay. So here I am doing you a favor by saying this.”
Walking back towards her, he pointed his finger right in front of her face, a look of exasperation plastered on his face. “You stay out of my head. Don’t even try to use it on me.” He said. “You think you know me. You know nothing about me. Nothing. I don’t need your company and I most certainly don’t need your pity. I don’t need you.”
Her gaze softened at his words, his last words may hurt a part of her but it was nothing she hadn’t heard before. “I don’t need my powers to know what you’re thinking, Ben. Besides, it never works on you. Not on you. Not on any version of you, I suppose.” She looks back to her glass, avoiding his gaze before feeling him walking away from her.
***
Looking at Luther and Sloane, she offered them a large smile. “I’m happy for the both of you. Wish we could have more time to know each other, Sloane.” She said, eyes falling onto the girl that is wrapped around Luther’s arms before looking back at the sky that is torn apart every second that passed. “With the world ending, there’s nothing anyone wants more than spending time with their loved ones. I know I would do the same.” She could feel Luther’s eyes on her as she said that. “Cherish the time you have left together, okay?” That were the last words she uttered before she went back inside the building, leaving the newlywed to have their moments alone.
What she didn’t know was the fact that Ben was listening to her words as he finally succeed to get rid of Klaus’s presence. He was about to grab another drink when he heard her saying that. Spending time with their loved ones. What is left of his family are only Sloane and Reginald. One who is currently with the man of her life. The other one probably conspiring something against someone. Sloane, his sister, what left of his bunch of adoptive siblings, sure there’s a part of him that cares for her although he won’t admit it out loud. On the other side, Reginald doesn’t deserve any love from anyone in the building. An ounce of him may won’t stop trying to prove himself to the guy but he’s sure that there is no love that he holds for the old man.
Before the girl who just entered the building could fully walk passed him, he grabbed her wrist, stopping her in her tracks. She looked at him expectedly, a look of nostalgia flashed for a second. Perhaps it’s the alcohol talking, but the words come out of his mouth without permission at all. “Want a drink?”
She let her hand out of his grasp, raising one of her eyebrows. “Did Klaus really manage to talk some sense into you? Or is it the alcohol talking?” She paused before answering the real question. “The answer’s yes by the way. But not here. Let’s go somewhere else.”
***
“A windowsill?”
“A quite spacious one, yeah.” She put herself in a comfortable position before patting the space in front of her. “Come on. There’s still much room left here.” Rolling his eyes slightly, he sighed before sitting in front of her. Both of them facing each other, on the windowsill as the world out there is falling apart. Her gaze stayed on him as he sat there trying to search for a comfortable position. A nostalgic smile went onto her face. Happiness and sadness all become one as a glimpse of her Ben took over his position for some split second.
A memory from her past.
“Out of every place in this goddamn hotel, you-“ He began to complain.
“Hey, the world is falling apart. Be grateful for a few seconds.” She looked out the window. “Ben would’ve loved this.” She muttered loud enough for him to hear.
“I am Ben.”
“Well, not you. I mean Ben Ben.”
“The other Ben?”
“No. You’re the—Can you just drink it already and try to not be an asshole?” She almost forced the alcohol down his throat if it weren’t for him who already doing that as she spoke before. She looked at him before averting her attention to her glass, muttering under her breath. “Maybe this is a bad idea.”
“Not really. No.” His response caught her off guard as she wasn’t expecting him to even hear her. She pursed her lips, before taking a sip from her glass. “So you do need some company. Is this your attempt to not be alone at the end of the world? Was it because of the speech I gave earlier?” She put it down and then propped her chin on the top of her knee.
This time, he is the one that avoids her gaze, looking at the falling word around them from the window. “I thought you said it didn’t work on me.”
“Just because my powers don’t work on you. Doesn’t mean I’m an idiot who cannot connect the two dots together, emo boy.” She said.
He looks down for a few moments before looking back at her, an uncharacteristic look on his face. “Guess that—guess that makes me a special emo boy or what?” This time he didn’t complain about the nickname. Instead, he said the words that brings a smile to her face. She nodded slowly before leaning back to the window frame and with teary eyes she lets out a chuckle. “What?” He asked, raising one of his eyebrows.
“You’re making it difficult for me to not cry. You see, you’re not supposed to say that. Not with that face.” She paused, taking a deep breath trying to not let the tears out just yet. “Gosh, you don’t just look like him or sound like him. Now, you talked like him. I suppose my prayers are granted in a way. I see you again now. Breathing and alive. Just not—just not the you that I need. It hurts looking into your eyes when all I see is him and yet there is no trace of him in this falling world.”
“What was he like?” His gaze stayed on her, less tense than usual. “Truly. What was he like?” He asked once more.
“What did the others say?” She asked back.
Hesitantly, he answered her question. “He was……kind. Selfless. A tiny dark cloud on a perfect sunny day. A know-it-all. A scold. Most of them-Most of them are bad qualities.” He furrowed his eyebrows together and seems to be frustrated not being able to decipher why the other Ben was so special compared to him. “I’m the Number One. Numero Uno. He wasn’t, was he? All of those praises about him, look how he ended up 6 feet under.”
Brushing over his last comment, she nodded her head. “Well all of them are true. He was a great guy, wasn’t he? One of the best that I ever knew.” Her eyes trailed over the window. “I first met them all when I was around the age of 8 or 9. He was hiding behind Klaus or Number 4 at that moment. He was never been the one to love the public attention but somehow tried to gain mine. I suppose that makes him sweet. After his death, none of us have been the same. All of us were drowning in a sense, well we all have been drowning for a long time. But since that happened, none of us could ever reach the shore.” Her chest got heavy just from thinking of that feeling.
“Where are you now?” He inched closer towards her.
She pursed her lips before letting out a deep breath. “Just floating around, I guess? Not drowning but not completely free either.” She thought about her last interaction with Ben. “Perhaps this is it. With the world ending, I’m getting closer to my final destination.”
Looking back at him, she continued her words. “Ben. He was-He was easier to love out of everyone in that room earlier, out of all the people I’ve known in my whole life. And mind you remember this, I love all of them greatly—well not all of them,” She referred to Reginald. “We all have a fair share of memories together, mostly in our youthful days that are full of trauma created by your daddy dearest—even I had some of mine too and I’m not even a Hargreeves.” Both of them chuckled at her words.
“Very much relatable that last bit. Klaus said a similar thing earlier. About how he was easier to love.” Ben inched closer once more, perhaps this is the alcohol talking, but seeing him open up his feelings to her like this makes her pay no mind to the fact that by tomorrow he’ll probably change into hard-shell Ben again. “That doesn’t seem fair. All of you love him like that yet none can do the same for me.”
Biting back a snarky remark, she decided to say something else instead. “One thing about him is that he makes love seem to be a casual thing to feel, I mean it is, truthfully it is but not many people have the opportunity to realize that.” She wiped a single tear away. “There are a lot of things to pay for when it comes to love. To any kind of love. Meeting you is one of those. The price I have to pay for this moment is not a kind one.”
He nodded quietly before looking back directly into her eyes. “I’m not him, you know?”
She chuckled at his words. “Of course, you’re not. I’ve said that already. If yes then I won’t be just sitting in front of you right now.” I would hold you and never let go like you had wished once before your last moments. The last part remained in her mind. Glimpses of them together flowed around the two, yet she was the only one to remember. “It is a lonely thing, isn’t it? To remember when the other person doesn’t.”
“What if……the other person does?” Her head snapped back towards him as he said so. Letting out a shuddered breath, she opened her mouth to ask what he means by that but she wasn’t able to find her voice at all. Then he continued his words. “You know what sucks, you have all of these memories with your Ben and I-” He took a glance at the sky before looking back at her. “And the only recollection I have about you is the one I had in my dreams. The one that I forgot the moment that I woke up. The one I wished to remember because there’s this feeling that I can’t understand every time I am in that dream.”
“You said all you see when you look into my eyes are him. Yet when I see into yours all I see is you. No other version you. Just you you cause you’re the same one from my dreams. The dreams that left only glimpses in my memory. But then even in those dreams, you were with him, I suppose. That happy feeling was his feelings, it was never mine, to begin with. All this time I was dreaming of someone else’s memories.” Tears stream down her face as she takes in the look in his eyes, the same look he used to give her.
This Ben would never be her Ben. He was already gone from her world. Leaving nothing but the memories that remain in her heart. Nothing but the feeling that she would always feel till the moment she passed. Meeting this Ben had brought heavy feelings to her heart. Makes her yearn to see a glimpse of him in his eyes. And when she found what she was looking for, hurt was all she found. “I’m sorry, Ben.”
He smiled bitterly. “Out of everyone, I thought you hated me the most.” He said. Recalling her avoiding him at all cost during their first interactions when the Umbrella first comes back to the timeline. The look in her eyes when she first laid her gaze on him was one that he will not forget.
She looked at him with sadness in her eyes. “That is an ability that I am not capable of. I cannot afford that. I don’t think I could even if I tried. You’re too much like him. Any version of you they all-well, I’ve only met two of you but you’re much more alike than I thought you do. Your feelings. The way both of you feel, I found it beautiful.”
A comfortable silence engulfed both of them as the two leaned back to the window frame simultaneously. The world is still falling around them. Slowly fading away from reality. Most people are already gone, reuniting with their loved ones on the other side.
“You were right.” His voice makes her look back at him. He offered the palm of his hand to her, so she made up a scissor using her point and middle finger. “I won.” She said with a large smile on her face.
Ben rolled his eyes. “You’re so childish. I couldn’t see why he loved you so much.” He said, clearly lying.
She crossed her arms. “Oh, the alcohol finally worn out? I was enjoying the non-asshole you.”
“Oh shut up.” He hushed her.
“What was I right about?” She waited for his response.
He met her eyes once more. She could tell that he was hesitant about it. “With the world ending, there’s nothing anyone wants more than spending time with their loved ones. Any kind of love.” Her eyes stayed locked with him as she reached for his palm once more, a warm smile on her face.
“Any kind of love.” She replied back.

-Despite all Ben’s coldness and bravado, he can be quite soft for the right person once you’ve broken past his defences
-He’s less moody and high-strung around you than anyone else, and when you do see that side of him he feels very bad
-He still struggles to be vulnerable or properly express himself but he gets better at it every day he spends with you
-Plus, actions speak louder than words and -even though you assure him you love him as is- he is constantly trying to prove himself to you, which makes his devotion pretty clear
-He has a well-hidden romantic streak that starts to emerge as you two get serious
-Part of him would love to go all out with silly, couple things like pda, using cheesy pet names and celebrating anniversaries but he takes himself too seriously to
-You fill a void in him and make him happier than he ever thought he could be so he’s a little bit whipped for you
-He tries to keep the intensity of his feelings for you close to his chest, avoiding letting anyone take advantage of his soft spot for you
-He’s very protective over you and will prioritise your safety over pretty much anything or anyone else, and if someone has a problem with that than he has a problem with them
-He’s also fairly quick to jealousy too but you can talk him down without too much hassle
-While he’s always considered the sparrow academy to be very important to him, your relationship has him questioning if he really needs his place there anymore and it wouldn’t take much convincing from you for him to explore a new chapter of his life
-He was already one to splurge (with Reggie’s money) so when he starts dating you he wants to spread the wealth, surprising you with some extravagant gift every other week
-He is way more needy than he would ever let on, he wants to be around you 24/7, he fishes for compliments, he cherishes any physical affection you’ll give him, but he would never admit to any of that
-In a lot of ways you can bring out the best in him, he second guesses his own ruthlessness for the sake of being the kind of man you’ll be proud of
-But he’s also willing to be incredibly selfish if it means staying with you and keeping you safe and happy

This Love is Alive (Back from the Dead)
Pairing: Sparrow!Ben Hargreeves x gender-neutral reader
Warnings: swearing, mentions of death
Word Count: 2.7k words
Notes: Reader is AFAB gender neutral with they/them pronouns and was adopted by Reginald Hargreeves along with the original seven umbrellas. They have abilities similar to heartrenders in the Grishaverse. Their powers include control over one’s heart, lungs, and stomach, and other major organ systems (although the brain can be rather tricky).
I was blown away by the response to my first tua post, I really don't post my writing much but I just love sparrow!ben so much and this word vomit was the result. I hope you guys enjoy it too <333
---
You took in the view of the half-destroyed farmhouse for the last time before closing your eyes and mentally preparing yourself for the next jump. If it was anything like the last one, you shuddered, your stomach may never recover. Of course, at least this time you were using an actual device made for time travel—even if it was weirdly shaped like a briefcase, seriously couldn’t they use a watch or something? It was so much less bulky and easier to carry around, not to mention harder to lose—instead of relying on your brother's dubious time travel abilities.
Klaus’ sudden interruption to grab a hat was dramatic, in the way he usually was, but even you could admit it helped lighten the mood. ‘No matter what happens,’ you thought to yourself, ‘at least you had your family.’ You ignored the pain that came with the thought of Ben, the one sibling you would be leaving behind this time. Even if he died years ago, which left you grieving and heartbroken, you knew he was still around. Unlike the rest of your siblings, you knew Klaus wouldn’t lie about seeing Ben. You even asked him once, about a month after Ben’s death, if you could speak to him or send him a message somehow.
Klaus, his eyes serious and clear for the first time since Ben’s death, responded, “He misses you too y/n, he’s standing right next to you actually. Sometimes he wanders over to check on you and make sure you’re doing okay.” He paused after that, head cocked and you just knew he was listening to Ben speak, which was almost enough to break you until you were suddenly swept into Klaus’ arms. It was unexpected but nice, even if his next words made you want to break down and start throwing things, “He wants you to move on y/n. I know it sounds impossible and crazy but you can’t let yourself obsess over his death and wither into nothing. You were meant for so much more than dad’s shitty plans for us. Keep breaking hearts y/n, never stop.” You laughed at that, hysterical and relieved because Ben was really there with you. You held on to Klaus as laughter turned into sobs because it was only then that it really sunk in, he was gone and there was nothing you could do about it.
You shook your head to clear the thoughts of him, you processed his first death a while back and there was plenty of time to process his second ghostly death once you were back home in your little apartment with plenty of tequila. Finally, Five finished checking the briefcase’s settings and made eye contact with you. He gave you a weak smile, and you couldn’t help but return it. The smile was forced—you’re pretty sure it looked more like a grimace, really—but it seemed to reassure him. He reached for the briefcase and you closed your eyes, taking a deep breath before the (hopefully) final jump.
The whooshing sound of time travel—and wasn’t that weird? You thought you and your siblings being traumatized child superheroes was as crazy as it got before adding the thought of alternate timelines and apocalypses into the mix—filled the air around you. It was as unpleasant as ever, although significantly less bumpy thanks to the briefcase. You mentally cheered your stomach on for surviving the trip this time around, and hoped it would keep up the good work. Less than a minute later you felt yourself landing on a familiar carpet, thankfully without the need to puke everywhere.
You stood there, eyes pressed shut, letting out the breath you were holding. You tried to force them open, but fear overtook you. For a moment, you wondered if you should even bother opening your eyes at all. You spent the last year or so running around trying not to die, first from the apocalypse, then from the bigoted idiots of the 1960s, and then from another apocalypse. Standing here, in what you hoped was your old house, felt too good to be true.
You could hear your siblings groaning and trying to orient themselves after the jump, but still couldn’t open your eyes yet and risk the chance that something went wrong. So your coping mechanism was avoidance, maybe if you never opened your eyes, you would never see what fucked up timeline you and your siblings landed in this time. You weren’t safe yet, not when you needed to fight again but holy shit you were so fucking tired and—
“What… what day is it?” Luther asked.
At his words, your eyes snapped open before your brain could convince you it was a bad idea and you took in your surroundings. It looked like your old house, but as you scanned the room, your instincts started to itch, warning you that something was wrong. It didn’t seem too bad though, so you weren’t overly panicked yet but you refused to let your guard down. Suddenly, your eyes locked onto a painting. You weren’t sure, since you never really paid attention to the art your father collected, but you could’ve sworn that painting used to be a castle instead of a mountain. Across you, Five scrambled for the newspaper in front of him and his next words shook you out of your stupor.
“It’s April 2, 2019,” he said, a smug grin already starting to stretch across his face, “the day after the apocalypse.”
The rest of your siblings started celebrating but you couldn’t shake the nagging feeling in your head, the voice telling you that there was something wrong. But Five was already heading to the living room, Allison was crying and talking about Claire, and Vanya’s looked dead on her feet. They all looked so happy, and that was enough to stop you from saying something about it. ‘Let them have this moment,’ you thought. After all, if they needed to run again, at least they had this one moment of absolute relief to keep them going.
You let yourself get caught up in their energy, swinging an arm around Diego and following the rest of your siblings into the living room. However, the good mood that was beginning to bloom died at the sight of the painting that hung over the mantlepiece. Diego noticed it too, asking the rest of your siblings if they could see it too. God, you wish you hadn’t. You stared at his face, one you thought you’d never see again. You couldn’t help but compare it to the last time you saw him, desperately searching the painting for any differences from his last appearance in the theatre in 2019 when Vanya first ended the world.
In the background, you noticed your father rising from his seat in some shadowed corner and your siblings arguing with him. Fuck the old man, all you could do was stare at the man you love so much. Granted, the two of you never really got around to admitting your feelings for each other before he died and other than that one instance with Klaus, he refused to be a messenger for any conversations between the two of you. The hope you’ve been pushing back started to grow again until you realized that there must be a reason Ben’s painting was there. After all, in your timeline, the painting was of Five, who disappeared one day and they all thought was dead. If Ben’s painting was in his place, who knows what could have happened to him. You began to spiral until a hauntingly familiar voice interrupted your impending breakdown.
“Dad, who the hell—” Ben starts, before pausing as he took in the scene in the living room. He stared at you, looking gutted and vulnerable, “…Y/n?”
You turned to stare at him the moment you heard his voice, as if on autopilot. His voice was a little deeper, but you guess that’s what happens when it’s been 14 years since you last spoke to him. You breathed out his name in shock and he started to smile, brittle and hopeful, before your brain restarted. You ran towards him and he ran to you, the two of you colliding in the middle of the living room. Your siblings paused their argument with your dad to stare at the new developments but fuck them, Ben was here and he was alive and that’s all that matters to you. He wrapped his arms around you and started spinning you around, your hair flying around you while you squeezed him back just as hard. You laughed freely for the first time since this whole mess started as you stared at him, categorizing all the changes. His hair was no longer gelled back like when you were kids, instead, he wore it spiky on top and all you wanted to do was run your fingers through it and mess it up. He lost the softness on his face from back when you were teenagers, growing into his features and you felt yourself fall a little more in love with him. He set you down and you buried your face in his chest—that was another change, when did he get so built?—and it was all you ever dreamed about since that fateful mission when you were 17.
Distantly, you heard your family erupt into screaming behind you but all you could focus on was the man in your arms. You took a deep breath, inhaling the scent of him, the detergent mom uses, and—is that some new fancy cologne? Regardless, it was the most comfort you’ve felt in years and you’d rather kickstart another apocalypse than let go of him.
It seemed like Ben felt the same, because his arms only tightened around you and he tucked his face onto the top of your head. Suddenly, you realized you’ve been too busy saving the world to take a proper shower (So what, at least you made it out alive! The 60s had shit bath products anyway,) and tried to pull away. You heard a disgruntled sigh above you before he whispers, “Stop squirming y/n, you may smell like shit but it's the first time I’ve seen you in 13 years. Besides, I’ve seen you covered in blood and other gross shit after missions, you’ve had worse moments than this.”
Your mind was still fuzzy from seeing Ben, but something about his words seemed to alert your instincts. You replayed the moment in your head, it has been 13 years since he died but wouldn’t he have seen you while he was hanging around Klaus? But if he was standing here, alive, then he wouldn’t have died and hung around with Klaus all the time. You would’ve seen each other, grown up together the way you always planned to. The dots were starting to connect, and you hated the picture it painted. You stiffened and tried to pull away again, intent to ask him what he meant, when Diego’s voice cut through the bubble you found yourselves in.
“Woah woah wait, who the hell are you weirdos?” he exclaimed as he stared at the people filing in behind Ben. They were studying your siblings behind you but seemed to glance at the pair of you standing off to the side. The way they stared at you, all wide-eyed wonder and fragile hope seemed familiar. It was the same look you gave Ben, not the mention the look your siblings gave him too. Instantly, the dots fully connected in your mind and your heart filled with dread. You let your arms fall away from him as you stared at him, trying to keep your emotions from showing on your face but failing miserably. “You’re not my Ben, are you?” you asked, voice shaking.
He released you slowly, almost like he wanted to hold on to you and never let go, but the look on your face was enough to give him pause. Tension was building between the two families, making him tense up further as everyone seemed to stare at the two of you. He looked away from the rest of the room and stared at you, brown eyes reflecting your pain back at you as he said, “No, I don’t think I am. You aren’t my y/n either.”
It was a statement, one that almost broke you, but your father’s booming voice behind you gave you enough strength to pull yourself together. ‘We can break down later, once not!Ben isn’t in front of you and you aren’t surrounded by your siblings and strangers,’ you told yourself, facing your father.
He was ranting about your siblings being crazy assholes in 1963, which was fair because you were assholes to him, but in your defense, he was a shitty father and he looked and acted exactly the same way, how the hell were you supposed to be civil? You couldn’t believe he hated you all enough to just, not adopt you as children anymore. He even changed your name! Where the fuck did ‘Sparrow’ come from anyway? Distantly, you wondered how that affects the timeline but you filed that away for another day. First, you needed to regroup, preferably after a nice long bath.
You steeled yourself to join your siblings’ argument against your father and his new children but a hand brushing yours made you pause. You turned back to face him, you blinking your tears away as you studied him. This wasn’t the boy you grew up with, but you could read him just as easily as you read your Ben. His face was set in practiced neutrality, but you could see his eyes pleading with you to listen. He tugged you back towards him and whispered in your ear, “I don’t know what’s going on, but I watched you die once in my arms and there’s no fucking way I’m letting you walk out of my life again. If your siblings are anything like mine, this won’t end well. I won’t let anything happen to you, never again y/n. I’d sooner unleash the eldritch horrors on the world than lose you again. So please—” he took a breath, eyes meeting yours “meet me at our cafe when this is done?”
Your breath caught in your throat at his words. The rest of the room seemed to fade around you, all you could see and hear and feel was him, both the Ben you know but somehow not. You knew this was a test, and you were desperate to get it right. He may not have been the Ben you grew up with, but he still was Ben, wasn’t he? Sure, he grew up with another set of siblings—’another version of you,’ your brain supplied—but in the end, he was still the same person. Despite the thousand different scenarios running through your mind, hope started to build in your chest: all-consuming, traitorous, and pretty damn inconvenient. You gave him a tiny smile and whispered back, hoping to all the deities out there that you were right, “On the corner of 9th and 22nd? I’ll be there after kicking your ass babe.”
His growing smile turned into a familiar smirk and he opened his mouth, ready to retort when you quickly tiptoed and pressed a kiss on his cheek. “Don’t worry, I’ll go easy on you Squid Boy,” you added teasingly before hurrying back to your family, grinning at his blush. “Bring it on heartbreaker,” he replied with a wink.
Your heart pounded in your chest as you moved to stand next to Allison, ignoring the looks your siblings shot you. Besides, Luther was looking pretty damn smitten with the pretty girl standing near Ben, you’d get them to bully him instead. You grinned at Ben from where you stood, readying your hands together as he unleashed his tentacles, both groups of siblings facing off against each other.

______________________________________________________________
"What now?" You asked your brother, Five, who landed you all in a terrible situation. Again. After almost dying while fighting the Handler and a bunch of her minions and jumping to another timeline, all in a limited time span, you were exhausted. Then, to add to that, you had to fight the Sparrows, leaving you bloody and bruised. Your skin was littered with cuts and scrapes.
Now, you were all sitting in the lobby of the Hotel Obsidian with a selection of Chinese food that you didn't want. "Nothing, Y/n. We saved the world. We won." He smiled, raising his glass and cheering with his brothers. You didn't believe it. You had a bad feeling about the whole thing. It was too good to be true. You brushed your feelings away. You were probably just paranoid, as usual. But something just kept screaming in your ear that something was off. So you decided to take a walk. Clear your head and maybe grab some food.
Everything was the same, yet so different. You'd walked this street before, but you'd never seen these shops, or signs, or benches. You wandered the streets of the backward city until you reached a diner. It was the same one you came to when nights at the Umbrella Academy were tough. When dad would scold you for stealing the light from the bulbs. It wasn't Griddy's Doughnuts, but it still held a place in your heart for many reasons. One of these reasons being that you had your first kiss in the booth at the back of the diner when you were 17. You carved your names under the table with a butter knife. You entered and proceeded straight to that exact booth. You slowly felt the wooden bottom, searching for the scratched initials, but you found nothing. Part of you was glad that those memories of him were erased, and you sat down as a waitress came up to the booth.
"Welcome! Can I get you anything?" She asked cheerfully, a wide smile on her face as she flipped to a blank page on her notepad. You used to always have milkshakes here with Klaus to distract him from the spirits and the pain of losing Ben. It was difficult for all of you, but it hit him the hardest. So you would cheer him up with a strawberry milkshake and french fries while you talked about anything and everything. So that's what you got. You grabbed a newspaper from one of the shelves and looked at what was happening in the world. Nothing interesting to say the least. You put it back and waited for your stuff.
When the waitress came back with your food, you smiled contently. Nothing could ruin this moment. Or so you thought. "Hm. What are the odds that we're both here, getting milkshakes?" His irritating voice rang in your ear like nails on a chalkboard. You looked over and he was right next to your face with his shit eating grin. He knew he was wrecking your time and he was enjoying it. He sat down in front of you, much to your dismay. "What's your name? I didn't catch it when we were beating your asses." You rolled your eyes, ignoring him as you took a sip of your drink. "Well?"
"Why should I tell you?"
"Stop being a bitch and just tell me."
"Y/n. Now shut up."
"Too bad we're enemies or whatever. I would've thought you were hot." He shrugged, waiting for your reaction. You knew what he was doing, and you wouldn't fall victim to it. You gave him nothing but the middle finger. He clenched his jaw. "What's your family up to? What's your next move?" His eyes stared into yours.
"Even if I knew, it's not like I'd tell you, dumbass." You scoffed, and he sat with a blank expression. "Look, if you're here to fight, I'm not in the mood." He shook his head, leaning his cheek on his palm.
"Nope. Just wanna get to know you."
"You didn't even know my name a minute ago."
"Exactly."
"Why?" Your eyebrow quirked in suspicion. He didn't seem like the type to care about anybody but himself, which wasn't exactly wrong.
"Maybe there is no why. Maybe I just want to." You didn't trust him. Why should you? He was throwing family members with his tentacles just a few hours ago. But you gave it a shot. What's the worst that could happen?
"What do you want to know?" His lips curled into his signature smirk. That afternoon, you'd shared more with him than you'd shared with anyone else. You found out a lot about him as well, and he wasn't all that bad. He knew your favorite songs and you told him about your favorite memories, and when you left the diner, you walked around the city, talking about everything. The two of you bonded quite a bit, and in the few hours you spent together, he opened up quite a bit. About his childhood and family struggles. You didn't trust him, but you considered him somewhat of a friend. Then you thought about what he's like when he's not being nice.
You would often overthink, which was what you were doing at the moment. What if it was all an act? What if he was just trying to gather information about his enemies? Why would he give a shit about somebody he tried to kill this morning? Your mood shifted and you stopped. He turned to look at you. It was like he was a completely different person. "You okay?" He put his hand on your shoulder.
You shrugged it off, nodding and smiling. "Yeah, everything's fine. It's just late. I should leave."." He agreed and you said your goodbyes and parted ways. Your mind drifted straight to the thought of what would've happened if you kept walking. He might have led you to a dark, lonely alley and killed you. Or maybe he would've taken you somewhere and fucked you, which you probably wouldn't mind too much. Either way, neither would be helpful due to the current situation with your families feuding. You walked back to the hotel, and when you walked into the lobby, Viktor came up to you, "Where have you been? You've been gone all day! Are you okay?" He put his hands on both of your arms, inspecting for any new injuries.
"I'm alright. I just needed to clear my head." You assured him. No way in hell were you going to tell them what had happened. That would only lead to more problems, and you could deal with less right now. But you couldn't stop thinking about him.

warnings:smut!; dirty talk, unprotected sex, slight breeding kink.
pairing: sparrow!ben x reader
a/n: english isn't my first language sorry If I made any mistake :)
It's first of october <3
✧・゚: *✧・゚:*
Ben smiled when he felt your kisses on his face, slowly the sparrow opened his eyes, waking up with you on him wearing only his shirt.
"hey" he greeted you as he wrapped his hands around your waist
"happy birthday, love" you congratulated him leaving another kiss on his jaw.
"Thank you" he mumbled shyly, he still wasn't used to being loved just for being him and not just a number.
"You need to take a shower, it'll give me time to prepare breakfast, then I'll give you your present" Ben smiled at your enthusiasm, of course you had prepared many things to celebrate. God, you loved your lover, you would do anything to put a smile on his pretty face.
"I thought you would give me my gift now" he mumbled mischievously, his hands caressing your bare skin under his shirt.
Oh, you knew what he wanted.
"You're so needy" you teased and ben moaned as you began to grind your core against his crotch, you could feel the hardness of him.
"i wanna feel you, y/n" he gasped as he helped you take your shirt off, leaving you completely naked in front of him, "they're so soft" he gasped massaging your breasts, rubbing both nipples with his thumbs
"ben…" his gaze never left yours, he was driving you crazy and he hadn't even touched you properly "use your mouth" you demanded making ben smile, your back arched as his teeth caught your nipple; his tongue circled around it as you kept rubbing your hips against his "y/n.."
"I know" you replied before lowering your panties, Ben desperately got rid of his boxers; he just wanted to feel your walls around him.
Wasting no time, you jerking him off, stroking the tip with your thumb, spreading his precum over the base; then you slowly rubbed your slit up and down his dick making you two gasp "ben.." you called him, making him look into your eyes "happy birthday" you congratulated him again as you slowly fell on his dick
"oh .. thank u" your lover gasped in ecstasy as he helped you ride him; you leaned against his chest to be able to bounce, Ben helped you by guiding your hips at the same time that he raised his to be able to hit bottom; you could feel every ridge of his dick, the thought just made you clench.
"you look so pretty under me, benny" you complimented him watching him throw his head back against the pillows, his white eyes and the smile on his face made you smile.
"god, we should be having breakfast.."
"I prefer this" he replied with a hoarse voice "this is the best birthday" he panted loving the feeling of being fucked by you.
"And it's just getting started." A light sheen of sweat was beginning to cover their bodies, and the familiar tingle in your belly let you know you were close, but you wanted Ben to come first.
You leaned in until you reached his face, you kissed his lips while riding him
"I love how your dick feels inside me." Ben broke the kiss.
"keep talking " this guy loved dirty talk, it only boosted his ego, he could cum in seconds just from hearing how good he made you feel.
"You're perfect for me, you fill me up so well" his thrusts began to falter; he was so close, he just needed a push. "ben, fill me up, please, I want your cum, I need it, give me your children! " you whined and that was enough to send him over the edge.
"fuck..god..y/n..you're so fucking good" he moaned loudly spilling his seed inside you; His hot ropes were enough to make you come, milking his cock as you spilled on his cock.
you laid down on his chest, his breathing was heavy like yours.
They both smiled satisfied "that was a good gift" ben whispered while caressing your bare skin, you laughed leaving a kiss on his chest
"yep, but now you need to get up, we have a lot of things to do"
"You know you don't need to do too much, having you by my side is the perfect gift" he whispered making you smile
"I know, but I want to do it" you replied, leaving a sweet kiss on his lips "I love you ben"
"i love too y/n"

NOT SO BAD AFTER ALL !
Tumblr media
SPARROW!BEN HARGREEVES X FEM!READER !
BEN HARGREEVES MASTERLIST !
Tumblr media
From what you've noticed, Luther changed, for the better. Causing you to actually have fun spending time with him. Sure he had his worse moments but it was nothing like the last time you've seen each other. Therefore, putting you in a position where you agreed to accompany Luther on his morning jog.
“Good mornin'!” Luther greeted the hotel receptionist. His name is irrelevant to you, giving him a tight-lipped smile knowing how he is every day. Grumpy. Although you did notice him being a bit grumpier than usual.
The hotel receptionist kept his demeanor, replying with a “for some” to Luther. Not caring about what he had to say, you dragged your brother's large body out the door.
You and Luther end up having small talk on your way to the park. Sweat was now present on your face, while Luther barely breaking a sweat. Luther was delighted more than usual, probably something that happened yesterday that you weren't told about.
The hairs on the back of your head prickle up at a feeling you can't quite point your finger at. A great sense of danger was one that you'd consider one of your powers along with telekinesis. Your siblings could all agree on the fact that most of the time, you'd get them out of danger.
Stopping still in your tracks, looking around the park to observe your surroundings more clearly. Your eyes stopped right at one Raven on top of the light post, calling out to Luther with your newfound information. “Luther, didn't one of the Sparrows have birds for a power?”
More and more ravens arrived, causing both of you to ponder on the words you said. “I think it's more than birds for a power, Y/n.” Taking you to go behind him, ready for battle, as you looked out for his back.
A few seconds passed after having staring contests with the ravens, they started to fly toward the both of you.
“Shit.”
Tumblr media
Your eyes fluttered open, a headache quickly forming. “Holy shit.” Recollecting your memories from earlier. You noticed how the ceiling wasn't a ceiling you were used to, the surface you were laying down on being a bit more uncomfortable than what you would like.
Sitting up, hearing a familiar voice humming something you didn't know. “Mom?” Seeing her frame you knew all too well from your timeline. You looked over to the side, seeing Luther passed out; just like you were earlier, laying on the same uncomfortable bed you had.
Grace didn't reply, but only having her attention on the medical supplies she had laid out in front of her. “Where am I?” Due to your headache, it was hard to use your powers.
“The academy, silly. Everybody's waiting for the both of you.” She paused for a moment before going back to her medical supplies. “Which academy? Who's everyone?” She ignored you once more.
Opting for a less time-consuming way, sliding your way off the bed, waking Luther up. “Y/n?” His eyes adjusted to the light, looking around the room to get a jist of what had happened.
“We're in the Sparrow academy. Those little shits kidnapped us.”
“Oh, we're here at Sloane's place?”
“That's not something to be happy about, Luther!” Rolling your eyes at him, scanning the room to take a weapon. Deciding on a mop, the only choice you had, throwing it to Luther who catches it. Putting his whole body in front of you to shield you from those who were behind the black curtain.
Luther swung the mop around after going through the curtain, revealing the Sparrow academy in all its smug glory. The man with the messed-up face speaks up first, announcing to the room that you've both woken up.
“Ah, there they are!” The pretty girl's head turned around to look at you and Luther.
“Please, join us.” The girl with the sunglasses on gestured for you and Luther to take a seat.
On the other hand, the thing you liked to call 'tingle' hasn't been activated. It made you sure to trust these people even though it wasn't what you had in mind when you and your siblings first met them. Not only that, your tingle hasn't been proven wrong in all your life you've used it. But that doesn't mean you'd let your guard down and won't play hard to get.
“It's okay. Nobody's gonna hurt any of you.” Ben speaks out. You hadn't thought that there was a day when you'd despise Ben, this day told you otherwise. The only difference was, that this wasn't your Ben.
Your eyes panned over to the pretty girl, you believed she was named Sloane from what you've heard from Luther. She offered a smoothie for you and Luther, a wide smile on her face.
“Oh.” Dropping the mop on the floor. “Yeah, thanks.” Taking the smoothie from her hands. You rolled your eyes at his antics, his evident heart eyes for the girl your other siblings consider as one of the enemies.
You slowly made your way towards the table, glaring at the Ben who took the face of your Ben. The girl with the sunglasses on watches your every move, just like the other people there. “You must be starving.” Eating something from her hand you didn't know.
“No, we probably shouldn't.” You say, squinting your eyes at the person he calls himself Ben. Him mimicking your actions.
By now, Luther was beside you, smoothie still in hand. “Is that cashew butter?” Rolling your eyes at Luther for the ninth time. Perhaps spending time with him was a big mistake.
“Cashew butter, almond butter, sunflower butter, tahini, Brazil nut.” Sloane listed off the different kinds of butter they had. Mildly impressed by their butter collection yet confused as to why would they have that much butter?
“Wow. You know what? Now that you mention it, I am feeling a little bit, uh, peckish, actually.” A disappointed look on your face as you saw him give in.
“Help yourself.” The guy with the disgusting face replies. Luther muttered a soft 'thank you' to them, before asking you to join him.
“Y/n/n? Wanna try some? I'll make one for you.” Your heart warmed slightly at that. Although he was quite dumb sometimes, he still cared for you as his younger sister.
Growing up, you hadn't had the best relationship with your siblings. Childhood was rough and had a mark on all of you, Luther included. Even though it did come off as him being your father's favorite. You were used quite a lot on missions, given your tingle and telekinesis.
You smiled softly at him, giving up on your act and actually enjoying breakfast, much to your dismay. Sitting down in front of Ben gives you a clear view of his smugness. As Luther liked to call it.
Luther was happily making yours and his breakfast before being interrupted by Ben. “So, we know you're Number One, but we haven't been formally introduced yet.” Referring to Luther.
“I'm Ben, Number Two.” Not like you didn't know that yet. Of course, everyone knew he was Ben.
Luther lets out a sigh of contentment, starting at his brother fondly. “It is so good to see you again, buddy.”
“Yeah, but I expected it to be less douchey.” Staring at Ben up and down. All he's ever shown you and your siblings is how mean he's been. It was obvious that Klaus was affected by his punch. You could see how hurt he was. Not by the punch, but by the betrayal of his supposed sibling.
Ben simply ignored you and went back to focus on Luther.
“Why does everyone keep looking at me like that?” Turning his head to his siblings.
Luther stopped putting his butter on the bread. “Because you've been dead for 15 years.”
“Dead? What do you mean, dead?” Being fed up with his overconfident self, you stepped in for Luther.
“Alright, Ben. Don't get your panties into a twist.” Ben gives you a look of disgust. “Since my siblings aren't that bright, here's what I think. We are not from this timeline? Which means that you're a different Ben.” Pausing to see his reaction.
“Our Ben is nice. You're not.” You've thought about this theory ever since you wound up in this place. Definitely a theory worth discussing with Five after you've made your way out of here.
“What is that even supposed to mean?” Ben started before being interrupted by the girl with the sunglasses.
“Anyway, I'm Fei. Number Three.”
“Alphonso, cuatro.” The guy with a deformed face says.
“Sloane. Five. Hey.” Ignoring her blatantly obvious attempt at flirting with your brother. And of course, Luther only replies to her.
“I'm Jayme. Six.” A girl from the far end of the table says.
Ben points over to Christopher, the cube. “That's Christopher, of course. Number Seven.”
Moments passed on, and the sparrows explained that they would like to know where their Number One is. To be frank, none of you knew where he was. None of you cared that much to abduct a man who had super strength. But of course, the sparrows didn't believe a words you said.
The banter between you and Ben continued. Even things so little, the glares, the small push every time you would pass by each other. Your siblings were glad, relieved, to see their old Ben back. Needless to say, you were relieved, just not glad.
Tumblr media
The sparrows were currently gathered around both of you, their stares intimidating.
“You're both free to go.” The hairs on your nape instantly stand up at his words. Confusion both on your faces. He was letting you both off too easily, something was wrong.
“Why?”
“Gesture of goodwill.”
He now turns to you, “but I want you to pass along a very important message to your family.”
“I'm only picking you to send this message because you're clearly more intelligent than him. And we both know you're clearly the most valuable member of your team.” Your eyes widen in shock at what he said.
“Finally! Say that to my siblings, please.” Leaning your body back lightheartedly, you had to admit, that he's being less mean than he was earlier.
He took a step forward in front of you, a mere 3 feet was between the both of you, more or less. “Let Marcus go. And if any of you hurt one hair on him, we'll come for you.”
“All of you.” He took a step back to now look at Luther. “And I promise we won't be so hospitable next time.” There it is again, cocky Ben. You rolled your eyes at his attempt to scare you with his speech.
“Super don't like being threatened, Ben.” Luther replied from beside you. Fei was quick to jump on her feet and respond to your brother.
“You'll do what we say, or else...” Arching her back in a way a flock of ravens came out. Reminding you of their warnings earlier about how Fei's birds would eat you and your brother's brains if all doesn't go according to plan.

Ben having an eldritch god in his bellybutton is yes. Time to show the world the meaning of terror.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Designated as Number Six by Hargreeves, Ben had the ability to channel eldritch creatures from another dimension through a portal under his skin, most often displayed as tentacles emerging from his stomach. Growing up, he had a naive and enthusiastic nature that led to him being easily manipulated. Sir Reginald found Ben's abilities to be fascinating but gruesome and had to learn to suppress a feeling of nausea in order to study the condition further. (X)
The horror of it all. Coming soon to a Ded & Gonne near you.
