Being in instagram/fb solarpunk groupchats makes me understand why ppl think we're all talk tbh
These ppl have been debating the good of ai art. The futures they've dreamed about still have Money and Police in it so I've had to give my Radical Ideas (gift economies, public transit over automated cars, toolsheds/community closets)
A couple of times I've been like 'oh this gardening I've been doing' and 'this local politics thing is interesting. I was chatting with neighbors about x during a community event" and they are baffled. I feel like they're all chatting bout the theorical at some board meeting while I'm over here covered in paint and dirt from cleaning up a bus stop??
It's so weird having ppl talk about solarpunk but not even thinking about doing the work to get there. Wild

with every thing i learn about what the directors of totk said in interviews it all just gets worse huh?
the thing about the shiekah tech just vanishing and nobody caring enough to look into it was already rough and now i learn they said that -after botw zelda wondered if hyrule as a kingdom was still needed but then totk happens- just sounds like she wondered if hyrule as a kingdom still needed to exist in the way it had been (which would be an interesting change for once and also make sense for her character) and then they took her back into the distant past with the super good guy king of a godly race to teach her the lesson what her place is and that yes, their monarchy needed and good and really given to her by "gods" and what if big evil black man shows up again
i dont have the energy to get into it further but needed to say soemthing about it bc it keeps bothering me :(

what i love about the Famous Actor Natori Shuuichi of it all is that...it's not just that he's famous and therefore widely recognizable wherever he goes. like yes that is very funny because he was an exorcist before he became a famous actor, which means he CHOSE, on purpose, a day job that would make it harder to hide his double life/secret identity from the hordes of his adoring public, but it's more than that. it's not just that he's famous, it's that he's famous specifically for being an ACTOR, aka a person whose job it is to dissimulate, to make believe, to inhabit roles and emotions other than his own. like he decided he was going to become as visible as possible (which again was literally not necessary! he could have gone into any other career for his day job!!) but in such a way that everyone would see him but no one would see him - they would just see his various made-up personas, including the Famous Actor Natori Shuuichi persona. i can't decide if he's a genius or if he just made so many absurd decisions that they canceled each other out and circled back around to working out. he's either playing 9-dimensional chess or he's eating the pieces. too soon to say.

listen like... in my opinion the pov character should be wrong or contradictory or unreliable sometimes. this is third person limited they're not supposed to have all the information or always be right. the narrator doesn't stop being a character

can we please call the roier slime tubbo trio The XYZers they may never interact again but it doesn't include the word trio and most important of all it makes them sound like a 90s to early 2000s boy band

the way Kid would be so domineering and difficult even when he's like. deeply indulgent with you. even when he's up to his eyeballs in love with you. man would spend all day in his machine shop trying to perfect some gift or another he'd thought of for you...and then have the audacity to still squeeze your whole face in his hand and give you shit for going blushing down to your toes because he made eye contact with you for too long.

i will be the last person to shame an adult for enjoying childrens media its just so wild to me the lengths people will go to deny that they are indeed watching childrens media. just accept it. you can just be an adult that watches baby cartoons. if youre so embarrassed about it that you have to lie to yourself and others and say that these shows are for adults, its honestly way more pathetic
