Sorry to be talking abt Hamilton in the good year of our lord 2023, but like
Stay Alive (Reprise) for the SilkWing au or at least the SilkWing fam in whatever au
LOOK HEAR ME OUT
Like,,,, do you see my vision for this, do you see it
Iris getting fatally hurt in a battle, and just jcmdnd ough Iris looking at Lance, her vision is already blurred but she's trying so hard to stay alive, she doesn't want to worry her father. Just xhmd her coughing up blood, looking up at Lance, trying to smile at him all "I.. I did exactly as you said, da. I held my head up high.."
"I know, I know.."
"even before the battle started, we were aiming for the sky.." she reached out, seeing the sky, the battlefield of the tournament, her Hydreigon out in the field, readying Draco Meteor, then Lance took her hand, bringing it to his face, crying, "we were aiming for the sky.."
"I know, I know, please, save your strength and stay alive," he pleaded, voice wracked with tears.
Fucking imagine Diantha running in the room, breathless, scared out of her goddamn mind. She only got the news from her manager, an accident happened during a tournament, a trainer got pissed and the Hyper Beam that was supposed to hit Hydreigon went straight at Unova's Champion, at Iris, at her daughter
She never heard the rest of it, she just has to get to Unova as fast as she possibly can, and when she arrived, Iris is there on the hospital bed, blood staining her clothes. Diantha's heart almost stopped.
Dia went to Iris' other side, seeing if Iris was still alive, "is she going to survive this? Who did this?! Lance, did you know?!"
Not wanting to see Diantha in distress too, she took Dia's hand, trying to calm her, "mom.. I'm so sorry for forgetting what you taught me.."
"my child.."
With a smile, she said, "we played chess.."
Dia's smile almost broke, holding her daughter's hand tight, nodding, "I taught you chess.."
"you would teach me your strategies.."
"you changed the rules everytime," Iris laughed at that.
"I would always change the rules.." she tried again, her voice wavering, breaking out to a sob, "I would always.. change the rules.."
Diantha tried to shush her, cooing sweet nothings, desperately clinging to her daughter, hand on Iris' bloody cheek, wiping away her tears. Lance couldn't bear it, he looked away, hiding his own tears, yet his hands still held Iris'. Diantha started counting, so did Iris, smth that calmed them down. In Kalosian, they counted to ten. Diantha was running a hand through Iris' hair as they counted again, but Iris sighed at the fifth, her final breath. Diantha's scream, full of despair and grief, echoed within the room.
