still thinking about that one tumblr post that went something like "I didn't know why people fought wars over the bible until I discovered fandoms"
#small wall of text in tags incoming do not reblog plz#so in my secret sideblog's fandom there's this ship I'm a die-hard for#but the community is... quite something else to put it mildly lmao#like there's this one group who make funny text posts#and there's another discord server I'm in who discuss about fanon sometimes#and I'm not part of Twitter but my friend informed me that the shippers are defensive about their headcanons too#ANYWAY my gripe is that all of these groups present their interpretation as the One Correct Way and everyone else is wrong#and my INTP 594 conflict avoidant ass is just sitting here like 👁👁 EVERYONE CHILL PLS!! THIS IS *FANDOM* OK#like I have strong opinions about my otp but I accept that what I have is just a subjective interpretation at the end of the day#anyway thinking about this because an anon asked my sideblog for tips for characterising my otp and I been chewing on it#but I think I got the most level headed response now that I ranted here in these tags#Ty tumblr void <3

I wish there was a way to like your post anonymously.
Not because I'm ashamed, but if my moots saw my likes on your posts, I think they would disown me.
😭💞 you know I understand that but at one point in my life I realize it wasn’t worth my time with antis— Now there’s a difference between saying ‘hey this isn’t my thing/I don’t like it’ and going ‘if you like [X] whatever fan fiction then hope you die.’
I think people take their dislikes and make it a personal attack if you do something they don’t like. I know moots on the internet can be super precious and loving relationship (platonic or not), but in my personal opinion it’s not worth keeping them around if in the back of your mind you think they would drop you suddenly like that.
Real friends will stick by you no matter what. As example, I pretty much ship everything within the ST fandom, I don’t have a lot of limits. But most of my friends have limits but they respect I like what I like and don’t judge them, therefor they don’t judge me either. It’s ship whatever you like here only and respect those no matter what 💞
So basically I do want to say you can definitely make friends with people who don’t like dead dove/only like certain dd topics and/or content because there are plenty of people who aren’t antis.
I do however want to say if you are too deep into the antis side (because hey, sometimes you accidentally fall yourself into that hole and it’s hard to escape from). I recommend to make a secret (not a sideblog) account, small baby steps to get your feet wet before you finally jump sail when you’re more comfortable to do so! 💞
I know ST fandom have toxic puritans, but please don’t ever let them ruin anything you like 💞
