ykno what im gonna ramble a bit about gordon and barney and hear me by imagine dragons like
the first verse (its reslly just rwo lines but whatev) is like barney pleading/bargaining to a gone gordon after the rescas to somehow hear him and like its fine if gordons gone just Be gone in a knowable way
and ovs the lines about not breathing in his sleep his him grappling with just fucking depression and suicidal ideation from the Everything
and the next two lines are kinda represe ting him being angry at gordon and resenting him for being gone and leaving him to mourn him and the line "love is a game to you" is somethi g he said more light heartedly to gordon at black mesa but now the feeling around it is warped and painful
qnd the chorus in all cases is about barney feeling isolated and not in a place where he can talk about what hes feeling and feeling unable to mourn gordon in bis own way due to the mythos now surrounding gordon and now him saying i cannot breathe is less literal mwanjng hes got no space to breathe emotionally and also the suffocating state of being a cp and not being able to talk about that mess
and in the biggest verse the first 3 lines are about barney teying to get over gordon and what almost was with other people both romantically and through more familiar platonic ways, and the phrase if youre warm has two meanings, first that if ur warm as a person and feel in anyway alive u cant realte to him becuz he feels cold andcut off from the world emotionally
and it also is more solidly directed at gordon saying that if hes still alive he couldnt relate to barney anymore becuz barney may as well be dead as a human being, suffocating under the combine and the mask of a cp officer
and the seocnd half of the verse is like barney loving and carinf for others and having to force positivity in yhe face of overwhelming negativity and trying to hide his feelings of depression for alyx espdcially
and the last 3 lines that arent chorus are representkng the small part of barney tbat after 20 years still wants to be with gordon, and wants him to stay and thatvthey could eventually leave the mess of the combine behind them

My babies
Was playing around a lil with how i draw them
Anyways, im bored so below is just me rambling about my tmnt fan iteration. I also might change the name. Maybe
If ur gonna read it, be warned, it’s long 💀 i tend to yap alot. I’ll make a clearer post once i figure everything out lmao
I guess i’ll start by explaining this post first. Baxter stockman found a crystal near an alien crash site and he found it super pretty, he wanted to give it to april’s mom, who he fancied. At the time, he didnt think much of it. He just thought it was a regular pretty crystal that was probably formed because of the crash impact or something.
As baxter gives the crystal necklace to april for her to give to her mom, april ends up giving it to Leo instead because april doesnt like her mom and refuses to give any gifts to her. Leo wears the crystal necklace in gratitude for April and on that night, leo had something happen to him. It’s like something from the necklace is taking over his body. That something is basically the crystal’s energy getting embedded to his body, this includes a hologram being (like an AI i guess) that is part of that crystal
This hologram being is what u call a Chronix (im bad at naming, i just pulled that outta my ass😭), that mainly takes a dragon-like form, but it doesnt really have a set form. Theyre holograms after all. Chronix doesnt immediately show itself to Leo, as just like any other virtual assistant, it only shows up when needed. When the crystal’s energy was embedded to Leo, he just thought that it was somehow Donnie’s mischievous doing. Maybe he was experimenting with things and Leo got caught in the way. Weird things happen pretty often and the first suspicion has always been on Donnie due to his mysterious and mischievious nature so leo quickly dismissed it and went on with his day after Donnie gives Leo a device that would help tame the energy surge.
One day, a bunch of utroms have been spotted roaming around the town. While April was still sleeping, an utrom managed to get into april’s place through an open window and climbed onto leo, causing him to freak out and accidentally spawn a holographic whip that would break April’s shelf of her beloved figurines. Leo begged Donnie to fix everything and he also tells Donnie that the device he gave isnt working. Donnie agreed to fix the issues and he tells Raph and Mikey to somehow keep April stay in her room so that she wont see the mess. While Donnie is fixing up his device, Leo is sitting alone in his room, wondering what actually is happening to him.
Prompted by Leo’s question about what’s happening, Chronix appears and tells him that the energy surges he’s getting are because he’s not used to it yet. His body is not trained enough to be a container for the energy nor to gain better control of what he spawns. Chronix explains further about what it is and where it came from: The utroms have a very advanced living condition and what keeps their conditions alive is a big sun crystal that powers everything in their planet. It is linked to everything there and it casts virtual assistants to serve the utroms. As they were fleeing their planet that’s about to be taken over by shredder (i imagine him to be like Wander over yonder’s lord hater lol), the utroms took the big crystal with them as its huge energy source is believed to be able to form a new world and Shredder will have his own loyal army. Cuz virtual assistants cant think or feel for themselves, they just do what theyre prompted to do, theres no way for them to betray him. Shredder took over that planet because he wants that power in order to conquer the galaxy. When the utroms fled with the crystal, they crashed to earth, causing the huge crystal to shatter to multiple pieces. those who came to check out the crash site notice these crystal fragments and take them, either its for collection, or for profit purposes, or for research, whatever. Ppl like shiny things ok. The utroms are trying to gather all the pieces to form the crystal whole again, while shredder, and other alien invaders, are also actively trying to seek out for this crystal.
As Leo is one of those who is in possession of the crystal, he is now a target, hence why an utrom climbed up onto him that morning. Now knowing that he’s not supposed to be in possession of the crystal, he tries to take off the necklace but he is now bonded with the crystal so he physically can’t take it off. The crystals dont have the same effects on other living things tho. But I think i’ll not say the reason for that yet. I have an idea, i just gotta think more about it
To avoid any more accidents, he asks for chronix’s guidance on how to make his body stronger to contain and control the energy. Chronix tells him that he just needs to train n stuff. For better guidance, he tells his brothers. And then april, who then mentions that there’s a dojo nearby and thats where they meet casey jones and his grandpa who owns a pet rat, Splinter, who shortly gets in contact with an utrom and gets mutated. Also the grandpa’s pretty old so he passes away not very long after. Casey is still too young to continue his legacy, but splinter is now an old wise rat who knows of the grandpa’s techniques. So splinter takes the sensei role to initially train only leo and casey, but the other turtles and april also wanted to join in just to have something to do

Sweetheart : made of liquid. this menace quite literally sits in impossible positions, fits in the smallest spaces, and is so slippery. almost like a cat
Sam : smells like coffee 24/7. this mans hugs are legit heaven on earth and i will PREACH THIS TO THE GODS
Darlin : has tried dog food before. out of stupid curiosity. did not enjoy it!
Vincent : lactose intolerant (lol fucking loser) (ps me acting like im not also lactose intolerant)
Lovely : double jointed and occasionally scared Vincent with the ways they can twist their body parts
Fred : can type on a computer blindfolded (my sister can do this and I'm so jealous)
Bright Eyes : very good at stick n pokes. has lots of them on their legs and had developed a high pain tolerance bc of it
Gavin : weirdly in love with the show ancient aliens. loves seeing what explanations humans have for magical occurrences
Freelancer : heavy-weight. this bitch can drink alot before finally crashing but is also victim to the worst hangovers known to man
Lasko : listens to Lizzo. he just does alright.
Damien : is far- sighted but he refuses to wear glasses (same)
Huxley : makes the most amazing shakes known to man LIKE SIR WHAT DO YOU PUT IN THEM
Kody : (im petty but im giving him this) smells like hair gel. AND NOT THE GOOD KIND.
Xavier : has sung let it go at practice to many times (he really let his life go tho) (im so funny 🤭)
Elliot : had too many beanies that are the same color/design but strangely knows the difference between all of them
Sunshine : a major bookworm. passed AP Literature with an A and got a 5 on the exam (prayin i got that luck 🙏)
Avior : the type of mf to go into a starbucks and order a tea. AND DOESN'T SPECIFY WHICH TEA.
Starlight : opposite of Avior. has the most detailed orders for EVERYTHING.
OK THATS ALL CAUSE NOW IM FINALLY SLEEPY i got 2 finals due tmrw so im gonna get a good night sleep so enjoy these!!

plot. your grumpy bestfriend tells you he's busy after class, yet you give no fucks—letting yourself in, you wait in his dorm so you can simply vibe to his music and pen scribbling.

“what’re you even doin’ here?”
wrapped up in his duvet, bakugou’s gruff voice drags you out of your once half-asleep state. you lift your head slightly and give him no answer, eyes raking over his mien of annoyance. he sighs, shoving off his shoes aggressively.
“you know i’m busy, so why do you keep hangin’ around like a lost puppy dog or some shit?”
his words of irritation would sting if you didn’t know any better—he enjoys your presence, atleast more than anyone else’s. he may still claim you’re an extra, but his sleepy murmurs on the nights neither of you can sleep say otherwise. you huff loud enough for bakugou to hear, his mirage of disliking you is embarrassingly fake.
“don’t mind me, i’m not even here.”
“whatever.” he grumbles, beginning the trek around his dorm to find his studying supplies. his notes, a pencil or two, and his speaker—the last part is very important. as his digits land on the object, you can’t help but sit up abruptly.
“wait! can i play a song this time, too?” your voice is woven in excitement, hoping to flaunt your music taste. while it isn't very far from his, you have a couple songs that you feel he might enjoy.
he shoots a glare your way. “no.”
he presses the on button firmly as you plead in the background, “just one! please, kats?”
“fine, just put it on the queue and go back to fuckin’ sleep so i can study.” you feverishly snatch his phone at this, bakugou grumbling once again after caving in at the use of his nickname.
handing his device back, you hands brush briefly and you have to force yourself to think of other things, a blush creeping onto your cheeks at the feeling of the minute contact. even though you’ve both fallen asleep beside each other, you still fluster easily.
hopping back into his bed, it creaks softly with the movement. as you rest your head on his pillow, a beat begins to fill the room. ghosting by mother mother, you can immediately recognize it considering you adore the song. you mumble a ‘love this song’ as you snuggle further into the sheets.
bakugou only responds with ‘tch’, but he knows you do, and that may be the reason why he’s so fond of it—you like it, of course. his brows are furrowed together as the pencil drags across his paper, faint music adding to the soothing ambience.
he slightly adjusts the volume, upping it a bit as he knows it’s not super late and no one’s sleeping. your eyes begin to feel heavy, moments before your song pops on the list.
insomniac by memo boy, your current fixation. the first few beats play out and you thrum along with it, drumming your fingers on bakugou’s silky black sheets. your eyes are now screwed shut vehemently with the music, a smile gracing your features as bakugou speaks up.
“i’ve heard this before.” his tone is efficacious at hiding how he feels about it, signaling a small frown on your face.
“do you like it?”
there’s a beat of silence from him and your frown deepens.
“..it’s okay.” this time, he sounds reluctant to admit those words. thankfully, you understand bakugou language, a grin forming on your lips as you now achieved your goal—he likes the song you showed him, and is probably adding it to his playlist.
you stifle a laugh with his pillow, “yeah, yeah. i’ll remember that when i hear it down the hall.”
“shut it, dumbass.”
you hum in acknowledgement, a wide smile plastered on your face as you shift from your previous position. as bakugou’s new favorite song ends(simply because it’s your favorite), the room quiets, save for the scribbles of his pencil here and there.
“you gonna play another song? the silence is deafening, katsuki.” while you’re only teasing, the silence does feel a bit odd—you can just slightly hear crickets chirping outside his window.
“don't be stupid, ’course i am. just go back to sleep or somethin’.” you can practically hear the miniature smile in his words, the banter between you both never fails to raise your mood and vise-versa.
with that, you register his phone being placed back down onto his desk, jealous by eyedress bouncing around the dorm. you hum along, the mellow yet vibrant beat finally enervates you into sleep.
bakugou swivels in his chair to converse with you about a question, only to find your eyes closed peacfully as soft breathes escape your barely parted lips.
being solicitous of your well-being and knowing you need the rest, he lowers the volume by a bit, eyes leering on your sleeping form for a moment more that he intended. you just look so adorable, wrapped up in his blanket so peacefully like you are—though, he’ll take that thought to his grave.
after while, you stir in your sleep, the bed creaking as extra weight is placed upon it. “katsuki..?” you murmur, raising a hand to rub your eyes.
“shh, go back to sleep, idiot.”
his voice is hushed, causing you to smile up at him in the now dark dorm-room. “m’kay.”
shuffling around to wrap your arms around him, you notice he’s adorning one of his famous tank tops. was he planning to nap with you? contently, you begin to drift off once more before his voice draws you out of sleep.
“hey, (y/n)?”
you nod into his chest, figuring he can feel it. bakugou stalls for a moment, and that’s when you realize he’s put insomniac quietly on replay. the revelation causes your heart to flutter, though you tell yourself it’s simply because he likes it enough to play it this much.
he clears his throat, “did you, um, have a shitty day or somethin’?”
his question throws you off, causing you to shift uncomfortably on his side. you nod again, before correcting yourself.
“well, i wouldn’t say it was shitty, just not ideal.”
“the way you said that frames it as a shitty day.”
“‘m sorry.” you bury yourself further into him, wishing you could just skip class tomorrow and lay in bed with him instead.
he frowns, not that you can see. “don’t apologize, dumbass. if you had a shitty day, then you had a shitty day. the thing that matters is that you got through it, alright?” he tightens his grip on your torso, rubbing your arm in attempted comfort.
even with his usually boorish attitude, he has a way with his words when he’s worried. he can feel you grin against him, and he knows he’s done a good job—he made you smile and that was his goal, now he can nap with you in peace.

things i have done this month to prep for january
i decided to act on my new years goals in december instead of january to get a kick start so come january, my goals are already becoming habits.
now lets go to what i have done:
started working out or moving my body everyday for at least 45 minutes. i aim for 2 hrs of walking which equals to 10k steps and stretching for 10-25 minutes. i find that this has boosted my energy levels and i really feel good but i also do other workouts like taebo if walking isnt doing it for me.
eating cleaner and making my own meals. im not a super unhealthy person but i did indulge alot which i knew wasnt good and i regretted it right after. eating unhealthy foods made me feel so groggy, heavy, bloated and just BAD. i started to cook my meals and eating more whole foods. i still indulge but in moderation. drinking a ton of water throughout the day and eating veggies or fruits before and after a meal really changed my body for the better.
doing my skincare. i was lazy about my skincare like i didnt put on sunscreen everyday and i didt take good care of it. now my skin isnt bad and i never struggled with it but i knew skincare would benefit me in the long run, plus its a nice way to incorporate self care daily. i started to do my AM and PM skincare everyday and it has been such a luxury to do.
decluttering and organizing. i have been decluttering like a MANIAC this month. it has been so freeing to get rid of anything that i do not need. i have decluttered my whole space so i am ready for the new year.
living more slowly. now this wont last but i am currently on break so i honestly have alot more time. i don't wake up super early as i did and i dont make my day so jam packed that i never have time to do simple things for myself. i sleep in (which is waking up at 8am lol, im more of a morning person) and it feels nice not having structure to my day at the moment. its odd honestly because i am a person that plans her month, week, and day no matter what but this semester really drained me so i needed to give myself time to be lazy. BUT i do want to go back on a schedule come january because i cannot live this freely for a long time, that is just not me haha.
not much preparation but it has helped me to start fresh come the new year. i mainly have been enjoying life, workout, cook, clean and organize. i know when january comes my life will get busy because of school and life. i wanted to get a few things into habits like skincare, workout, eating better, taking time to relax, which i feel i have gotten that down. these were things i struggled with on a daily and practicing that everyday for nearly a month has made me feel better but also it has been part of my routine now. i do have more goals i know i can do daily which i will share later on.

Uh not actually here to hate but to say thanks???? Ive been thinking alot on my self expression and trying to figure out how to word it, and seeing some of your comments with other people really helped to put in perspective what I was trying to come to terms with. Ive always struggled with my gender but acknowledge fully that I'm biologically female. (Stay with me here till the end please i know lol) I genuinely dont care what pronouns I'm called either and none have ever felt right if I'm honest and nothing I've read or tried has been adding up for me over the years to help me feel any better.
Kinda realizing over the past year or so that I just have this deep ingrained idea from being surrounded constantly my whole life in a woman hating environment that I just have a *really* heavily masked hatred for what general society treats women as and was trying to remove myself from it hoping itd somehow save me from the terrible shit we all go through daily. And it just made me feel even more alienated doing that to myself. Its been a long time of coming around to this and I know how it sounds but I dont wanna consider any of my time wasted. I dont remember what it was but something you said to someone in a long ass comment fight clicked for me and rn I'm sleep deprived and wont even remember what it was in the morning either but I feel like some kind of weight has been eased off me. Im doing my best to unlearn the sexist misogynistic bs ive had shoved down my throat my whole life that made me think being a woman was something to be shameful of and better off without.
Its been hard trying to look into this radfem community and find someone who didn't immediately just insult and exclude ppl that werent already on the ball agreeing. Basically I appreciate your ranting with strangers. Amd indulging some of their curiousity as clearly as you can+defining everything you say constantly so I dont get lost in a whirlwind of hard to understand metaphors. Idk you get it. Something clicked and i dont feel ashamed for the time gone bc I know it was heavily influenced by the oppression of all things normal-human-womanly around me. I hate that we're all so tied into these stereotypes. Its painfully hard to unlearn. Thanks for the help. Have a fat block of text as thanks cause I'm not sure how to sound as genuine as I feel rn. Have a nice day and an even better tomorrow. Im gonna get some sleep now💀(stayed up WAY too late painting lol) bye!
This is so wonderful to hear. I know how dreadful it is doing serious introspection and making yourself aware of how deeply and unconsciously your internalized sexism runs. I’ve been there, and I know it’s even more difficult to deconstruct the subtle sexist attitudes which have been ingrained into to us since birth. Often it seems as hopeless as chasing smoke, because some of our internalized sexism is so deep that it’s invisible, and worse, inarticulable.
Some women will never think on these subjects beyond their surface level—will never dissect their preferences, will never concede that their choices are influenced by sex-based socialization, will never seriously reflect on why they are so desperate to identify out of womanhood. And in a strange way, I sympathize with these women, because I understand that it’s easier to shut your eyes and convince yourself that you were born in the wrong body than it is to open your eyes and acknowledge how much sexism has seeped into and corrupted our own minds.
Basically, I’m proud of you for putting yourself through the pain of deconstructing your own internalized sexism. You are better for even attempting it, and I hope you continue to do so.
P.S. I know exactly which long-ass comment fight you’re referring to, because I only put myself through that once. At least someone benefited from the literal month I spent arguing with that stranger. They blocked me, so unfortunately I can’t even go back and analyze the conversation if I ever wanted to. I would love to know what you took away from it, if you ever do remember.
