“...Soooo, are we hoping he shows up, or not?”
Once again, your BFF was there to hear the latest escapades of the saga unfolding.
“Obviously NOT,” You scoffed, falling back onto the bed. It was stiff, almost…crusty. You tried desperately not to think about just what exactly went on in these rooms on a normal basis.
“Because….?”
“Because I don’t wanna just BANG IT OUT, that’s why!” you exclaimed, wondering why that wasn’t blatantly obvious.
“Yeah but didn’t you say that Barba said that he was still gonna care about you, even after sleeping with you?”
“Yeah…” you twirled your hair again.
“So then if he does come to you then you know he really does believe that, correct?” Your BFF pointed out.
“But what if he doesn’t?”
“Oh come on, you think that Barba would just have sex with you to prove a point to your sergeant?”
“I mean, what if he doesn’t care about me after, y’know...we fuck,” You said blatantly.
“Seriously?”
“Yes SERIOUSLY. Come on babe this has all happened SO fast, I mean it can’t be anything other than physical attraction,”
“You don’t believe that,”
“Of course I do! Look at me! Metaphorically. Guys don’t ‘date’ me, they wanna fuck me and leave me.
“Yeah, that’s usually because you fuck them before you give them even so much as a name, and then kick them out in the morning. Nice try,” Your BFF shot down your attempts to self deprecate.
“...Whatever,”
“Look, I love you. I know you’ve been through hell and back. But, at some point you have gotta let the past be the past, and realize that you’re not that girl anymore. You’re not 16, you’re a grown up. And a smart, beautiful one at that. A guy could easily fall in love with you,” they assured you.
“In less than 24 hours,” you rolled your eyes.
“Okay maybe not love, but certainly more than a dicking. I mean Christ Y/N if that’s all he was after he wouldn’t have defended you to Liv, he would’ve just begged her to let him have a day pass to fuck you and move on!”
“But, we’re so-- and he’s-- and I’m-- I just can’t see how we’re gonna…” You tried expressing your thoughts but it just wasn’t coming.
“Look, get out of your head. Just, stop. Stop overthinking it,”
“Yeah okay,” you said sarcastically.
Suddenly, there was a knock at your door.
“Y/N?” you heard Rafael’s muffled voice outside.
“SHIT,” You hissed into the phone, jumping off the bed.
“Is that him? I TOLD YOU,” your BFF laughed triumphantly.
“Shut up. I’ll call you later.” you tossed the phone on the bed, fluffed your hair as if that was going to help the situation, and opened the door.
“Hey, can I…?” He motioned inside, leaning into the doorway.
“First, I need you to be honest with me,” You put your hand up to his chest.
“Okay…”
“How drunk are you?”
“Seriously? I may not drink straight shots of tequila all the time, but that doesn’t mean I’m some old man lightweight,” he scoffed, very offended.
“That’s not an answer,”
“...Honestly? I think I’m more buzzed off that kiss earlier,” he smirked.
Damn he was smooth.
You rolled your eyes and opened the door, letting him walk in. You motioned for him to sit on the bed, to which he replied, “Yeahh….I don’t think I’ll be sleeping anywhere tonight. God knows what is on these,”
“Really? So how pray tell do you think we’re going to ‘bang it out’?” his head whipped around at that sentence.
“Christ almighty, again Y/N?! Privacy, google it,”
“Oh whatever, you two were practically screaming in the parking lot,” you scoffed.
“I swear to God, you are so--”
“So what? Stupid? Immature?”
“Infuriating!”
“Hello, kettle,”
“Oh really? How am I the bad guy here? Olivia sat there and basically called you a piece of ass, and I defended you!”
“And yet, here you are. Ready to fuck,” you presented your hands as if you were a platter.
Rafael put his hands over his face and paced the room.
“Ay dios mio, me voy a suicidar,” he muttered while pacing.
“Oh really, you wanna kill yourself? That’s a tad dramatic, counselor,” You scoffed again.
Rafael’s eyes widened, “You understood that?”
“I heard suicide,”
“Right...ok look,” he stopped pacing and stood in front of you, taking your hands in his.
“I’m not-- I don’t...want to just, ‘bang it out’,” He rolled his eyes at the notion.
“But, also-- I don’t not want to….y’know,” He gestured towards the bed with his head.
“...So you do, but you don’t,” you continued with the sarcasm.
“It’s not JUST what I want to do, carino,”  he put a hand up to your cheek.
“Cards on the table, I would love nothing more than to rip that shirt off and ravish you right here, until we have to leave in….Jesus, 7 hours,” He shook his head, knowing he was never going to sleep tonight either way this went.
“Just not on the bed,” you half laughed.
“...Y’know what? For you, I would risk the thousands of venereal diseases that are seeped into these sheets,”
“....How romantic,”
“If you really knew me you’d know that is the peak of romance,”
“See that’s the thing Rafael-- I don’t really know you. Not really. And you don’t know me. We just...I don’t know, we had this little chemistry thing going all day, and then y’know you cleaned me up when I was crying, and then held my hand through my story, and I--”
“And that’s why you wanna sleep with me,” he dropped his hands and stepped back from you.
Your face fell, your eyes widened. It had never occurred to you that he would be the one doubting the sincerity of the situation.
“What? Seriously?”
“You just said I don’t really know you, you don’t really know anything about me, except that I helped you through a difficult situation and now you wanna ‘repay’ me, or you feel attracted to me because I made you feel good,”
Your jaw was on the floor; was he actually saying this? Was he this insecure this whole time?
“That is so not--” you tried to interject but he kept on.
“Then how do you explain it? This, this little attraction coming out of nowhere--”
“It didn’t come from nowhere,” you cut him off without thinking.
“Excuse me?” he raised an eyebrow.
“Are you a moron, counselor?” you asked, to which he just stared at you dumbfounded.
“You honestly think that just because you dried my tears in a bathroom and held my hand through a story, that I would just throw caution to the wind and make a very obvious, romantic grand gesture? In front of my BOSS? Olivia could’ve fired me at any point today for ‘fraternization” or “unprofessionalism”, or a million other things that have run through my mind. You think that I would just risk my career because I thought you were nice?!”
Now it was Rafael’s jaw on the floor, flabbergasted at your sudden admission. He shook it off quickly, walking back up to you and caressed your face once again.
“So...you do have an insane crush on me?” he smirked.
“I wouldn’t go far as to say ‘insane’....spirited, maybe,” you blushed, making him grin like a kid in a candy store.
“AND, really to be honest it’s only been a subconscious thing, I think. But this morning at the gas station, something just…”
“Clicked,” he finished your sentence.
“Ye-Yeah,” You whispered, now once again stunned.
“Yeah…” he smiled, rubbing your jaw with his thumb.
“So….what are we doing here, counselor?” You tried to keep your voice from wavering, but his hands on your face and the smell of his cologne was driving you nuts.
“We’re standing here, detective,” he smirked.
“Oh fuck off don’t be cute about this,” you hit his hands away at his snarkiness.
“But I’m so good at it,” he pulled on your hands playfully.
“Alright what are we going to do about….” you gestured between the two of you.
“Well, I told you what I want to do,” he smirked again, pulling your face close to kiss you, but stopped mere millimeters from your lips.
“BUT, I also don’t want to do something just because Olivia tells me to,” he pulled back quickly, amused at the annoyance on your face.
“So what, you wanna make out like teenagers? Wouldn’t that just be proving her point?” You scoffed, trying to hide the fact that you wanted to do so much more than that.
“I just...I don’t want us to...and then you--” he made hand gestures left and right.
“And then I? And then you!” you hit him softly.
“No, not me. You think you’re the only one with a subconscious?” He raised an eyebrow, indicating he had always felt the same about you.
“So...neither of us, wants either of us, to change our minds,” you pulled him in closer once again, your arms wrapped around each other’s necks.
“But both of us, assume that we will,” you continued, moving a hand to play with his collar sans tie, so that it was showing the tiniest bit of his chest.
“SO-- I propose this,” You patted the chest window with both hands. Rafael took this chance to grab them and keep them there, anxious to hear your proposal.
“We….have some fun,” you wagged your eyebrows suggestively.
“And since both of us already think that the other one is gonna bail, we’re not gonna expect tomorrow to be any different, right?”
“Right…” he held onto your hands, forcing you to balance back and forth on your toes.
“And, if we both still feel the same when we get home…” you clung tighter to the collar, pulling yourself closer to his face.
“Then we do this. For real,” you whispered, staring him straight into his gorgeous green eyes.
“...And what happens when one of us changes our mind when we get to the city?” He brushed hair away from your face.
“Well then, I’ll just transfer units so you can get over me,” You gave him a tongued smile.
“Oh, I think you’ll be transferring to get over me, carino,” he smirked.
“What does that mean, by the way? I hope it’s nothing bad, considering you’ve called me it all day,” you asked, and he laughed.
“No no no, not bad-- never,” He kissed your forehead.
“It means like, ‘sweetie’ or ‘honey’, it just sounds prettier in spanish,”
“It really does. To be honest you could call me trash in spanish and I’d still think it was sexy as hell,” you admitted, making him laugh louder.
“I would never call you basura, carino, EVER,” he assured you, going in for another kiss; this time, he didn’t stop.
You both began kissing each other furiously, the crescendo of your wants from the entire day came spilling out all at once like a broken dam. Without thinking you jumped up and wrapped your legs around his waist. Surprised, he momentarily stumbled back, but quickly adjusted your weight in his grasp, pulling you tighter into him. You could feel his growing member against your thigh, and you couldn’t help but smile knowing you were the reason for it. All of a sudden you felt yourself falling back onto the bed, Rafael continuing to kiss you.
“Oh yeah sure just let me get the jizz germs on me,” you giggled in between kisses. In response, he crawled on you and moved you up closer to the headboard, his entire body now on top of you.
“Alright there, my body is full of jizz now too, happy?” he panted.
“Yeah I know it is, I can feel it,” you smirked, grabbing his belt and tugging on his erection. He moaned, his eyes widening in shock and excitement.
This was it, no going back now….

March Reading Spaz
By some miracle, I haven’t hit a slump yet. That was not an invitation; just an observation. XD
I started off reading middle grade for Middle Grade March but after the fourth book, I lost steam for middle grade. Still, not a bad place to venture whenever you have a slump.
1) Amari and the Night Brothers by B. B. Alston (Four Stars)
I absolutely had a blast reading this book. I instantly felt for Amari and wanted her to succeed in finding her brother. The friendships were well done and there was twist that left me feeling like, “I kind of saw that coming, but my heart still broken. Dangit, [redacted]
Tumblr media
2) Tunnel of Bones by Victoria Schwab (Three Stars)
I enjoyed City of Bones more (mostly because it took place in Scotland) but this was still a solid sequel. Like the first book, the friendship was the main glue and I do look forward to the next book.
3) Hide and Seeker by Daka Hermon (Four Stars)
This book was so creepy and I enjoyed it. It did kind rush and drag once they reached the other world, but it was still enjoyable. Based on how things ended, there’s definitely going to be a sequel and I look forward to seeing which childhood game gets a dark upgrade next.
4) Ghost Squad by Claribel Ortega (Three Stars)
This one had a subplot that hit close to home, but other than that, it was an adorable read.
5) Horimiya Vol 2 by Hero and Daisuke Hagiwara (Four Stars)
It’s Horimiya. The characters are just as fun to read about as they are to watch, so yeah. XD
6) A Match Made in Mehendi by Nandini Bajpai (Three Stars)
Another fun read but the bully side character? Couldn’t stand her. Some of the stuff she did felt a little extreme, but I wouldn’t put it past some people to really act the way she did. Minor spoiler, at least she’s getting some freaking counseling. I had to give the author that. The romance was predictable for the main character but that didn’t mean it was less enjoyable.
7) Just Mercy by Bryan Stevenson (Five Stars)
I felt so many things reading this book. Anger, despair, hope, compassion; it all intermingled in one setting. I lost count how many times my heart broke for people who spiritually lost their life to either being wrongfully convicted and waiting for death row or who got heavier sentences than they deserved. There was one case toward the end and I couldn’t take it anymore; I had to let myself cry. But there is a hopeful message and I’m glad Stevenson shared it through his book.
8) A Taste for Love by Jennifer Yen (Four Stars)
I literally just finished this and I enjoyed myself. I also have a minor grudge against it for making me crave bimbimbap and then proceeding to eat the second hottest thing I ever had in my life. XDD Seriously, this book will make you want all the food presented in this book. The family drama was well done as well as the friendships and the romances were cute. Got a little sappy during the epilogue but, hey, sap is good for the soul. :P
So, again, read eight books this month. I didn’t even plan on it; I just wanted to read some middle grade and read Just Mercy. I don’t have a solid plan for April because
1) Camp NaNoWriMo a.k.a. I’m probably just gonna try to get back to working on that fic consistently (the spite fic inspired by a Gatcha that wasted my time and money last year will have to wait for July)
2) Our Life is supposed to be releasing the Step 3 DLCs and, listen, I miss my son. I miss him so much but I wanted to wait on the new material first. XD When that drops, all bets are off.
3) I kind of want to spend some time on polishing those chapters I wrote for the Ranma 1/2 role swap AU ages ago.
So basically, focus more on writing this time around. Possibly. Fingers crossed.

Color Me Blue (That’s Me Without You): A Pre-Apocalypse Story
Part 1 (here)     Part 2 (here)     Part 3 (here)     Part 4 (here) Part 5 (here)     Part 6 (here)     Part 7 (here)     Part 8 (here)
Part 9/10: Just the Two of Us
The time has arrived for Therissa to spill some of her deepest, darkest secrets, and it’s no surprise that she’s not looking forward to it one bit. Once upon a time—one that seems like a lifetime ago—Therissa was in total control of her own feelings. Whenever she didn’t want to show them, which was basically all the time, she hid them so convincingly that everyone around her, even her own family, started to believe that she was cold and heartless and incapable of feeling anything at all. But it’s not that Therissa doesn’t feel. She does. A lot. Maybe even more than she should sometimes. It’s just that wearing her heart on her sleeve for the world to see has always been a little much.
Caring is hard. Showing dumb, gushy feelings is hard. Therissa keeps all of her sappiest, most embarrassing ones locked away so deep inside her that sometimes even she herself forgets that they’re there. It’s easier that way.
But as they say, desperate times call for desperate measures. Therissa had been hoping that things would never come to this, but, alas, here she is, seconds away from unlocking the vault. And all for the sake of her twelve-year-old roommate.
“Look, Brody, I’m not trying to make excuses or anything,” Therissa begins, focusing on keeping her voice low and steady as to not reveal how nervous she actually is, “but, like, I was in a really shitty mood the night you got back. My sister had been hounding me the whole freaking day—”
“Mel?” asks Brody in a soft voice.
“Uh, yeah,” Therissa replies, nearly stuttering and raising an eyebrow in slight surprise. “I can’t believe you remembered her name. Haven’t talked about her since—”
The auburn-haired girl gives a small smile. “Since I was ten and you still had those pink streaks in your hair.”
Therissa forces a puff of air through her lips and then starts to laugh. “Of course you remember all the cringey stuff, too.”
“But it looked really c—” Brody starts to say, but she’s immediately interrupted by a pillow to the face. “Ow!”
“Anyway, Mel kept texting me about how our mom was trying to get a hold of me, or whatever. Like, since when, right?” Scoffing, Therissa’s face suddenly turns sour, as though she just tasted something unpleasant. In the next moment, though, her expression relaxes and she sighs. “I know I was probably being a huge bitch, so... I’m sorry.”
Brody looks up at the older girl with blue eyes full of forgiveness. “It’s okay.”
“No, it’s not. I made you feel like shit for no reason. And then when you gave me that shell?” Therissa feels somewhat sick as she remembers her choice of words, then shakes her head firmly. “I shouldn’t have said what I said. That wasn’t cool.”
“Are you sure you don’t think it was lame?”
From the lingering gloomy tone in her voice, Therissa can tell that Brody still isn’t completely convinced. She gives the younger girl a crooked smile and holds out her little finger. “I promise. Cross my heart, hope to die, stick a needle in my eye. All that junk.”
Breaking into a grin, Brody extends her own pinky and links her and Therissa’s fingers together. “Okay, I believe you.”
Even though Brody is only a couple months away from officially becoming a teenager herself, she’s still as much of a dreamer as ever. Somehow she has managed to keep her childlike innocence that most people lose as they journey into adolescence. For Brody, the magic of pinky swears, secret handshakes and friendship bracelets hasn’t yet faded away. She finds joy in even the most mundane things. Never in her life has Therissa met anyone with a bigger heart, who does and feels so intensely, or who believes more strongly in the inherent good in everyone and everything. To put it simply, she’s just never met anyone like Brody.
“So, this may come as a surprise to you, but my friends aren’t exactly nice people,” says Therissa, seemingly changing the subject. It’s kind of a joke. She said it hoping her roommate might laugh, or make a face, or point out that her friends kind of suck. But, then again, this is Brody. Therissa had briefly forgotten that this type of humor doesn’t work with her.
As expected, Brody ponders the statement for a moment, but then she shrugs. “But they’re still your friends, right?”
The expression that Therissa makes in response is indecipherable. “They’re pretty much a bunch of assholes. I mean, like, they couldn’t give two shits about making anyone else happy.” Brody is looking at her in confusion, clearly not understanding why the teen has suddenly started badmouthing her friends. But Therissa purposely avoids the girl’s gaze, head starting to tingle from the rising temperature in her cheeks and ears. “They’re not like you. I mean… like, you’re...”
You’re different. The string of compliments that the teenager intends to cheer her roommate up with twists into a knot that jams itself in the middle of her throat. The fact that Brody is all ears and clearly anticipating the rest of that sentence is only making things worse.
At the last second, Therissa bails. “It’s just, that was the first gift I’d ever gotten from anybody here, and… and, you know, it was a sweet gesture.” All this sugary, sappiness is making her itch, but at least Brody looks a lot better now. “Anyway, are we good then? You and me?”
Brody nods with a smile. “Yeah, we’re good.”
Therissa folds her arms and goes quiet for a moment. “So, like… I know you’re still hung up on ‘missing out’ on the stuff me and Violet did while you were away, but we honestly didn’t do that much. Just stuff to pass the time, you know? It gets kinda quiet in here without our busy bee.”
And just like that, Brody looks upset again. Bringing her knees to her chest and resting her chin against them, the younger girl lets out a teensy sigh, which tells Therissa all that she needs to know. Her job here isn’t quite finished yet after all.
So Therissa kicks her boots off and mirror’s her roommate’s posture, hugging her knees and heaving an audible fake sigh. For a few moments she just stares at the girl across from her with her lips turned down in an exaggerated pout, hoping that when Brody looks up and sees her she might smile again. But Brody seems more interested in the blankets on the bed, so Therissa has to be more direct with her tactics. “Wanna tell me what’s on your mind?”
“Will you promise not to get mad?”
The fact that Brody feels like she has to keep things from her bothers Therissa in a way that she never expected it would. “Of course. Lay it on me.”
“I guess... when Vi told me that y’all did your nails together, I felt…” Brody hugs her legs more tightly as her expression becomes pained from remembering that night again. “I felt kinda sad ‘cause, well… we’ve never done anything like that before. I mean, like… spending time together and doing something really special, just the two of us. And I just… I really wanna do stuff like that with you, too.”
In that moment, everything finally clicks. Therissa realizes that Brody isn’t jealous that Violet got to paint her nails before she did, nor is she disappointed that her roommates had fun without her and she missed it. Not exactly. Not entirely. The real reason why Brody’s so upset—and it makes absolutely no sense to the teen at all—is because she wants to spend time with her. As in, actual one-on-one, just-you-and-me-and-nobody-else time. With her. And Therissa doesn’t understand it because it’s not like she’s ever been particularly likeable, especially when Brody first arrived at Ericson’s.
“And I know you’re so much older than me so it might be kinda lame to hang out, but it doesn’t have to be all the time. Just sometimes, if you want to,” Brody hurriedly adds. Therissa has a strange look on her face, so she’s starting to worry that she’s said something wrong. “Um, sorry, I—”
“Hey, can I ask you something?”
Brody’s heart catches in her throat and she forces it back down a nervous gulp. “Yeah?”
“Why do you even want to hang out with me?” Therissa directs her question at the spot just below the younger girl’s nose but above her lips. Brody’s eyes are looking right into hers and it’s making Therissa feel like she can see all the way inside her. “Ever since you got here, like, you’ve always seemed to… you know... like me, or whatever, and—”
“Because I do,” interrupts Brody, voice full of concern even though Therissa feels like it should be the other way around. “I’ve always liked you.”
“But why?” Therissa doesn’t intend for it to come out so intensely. She has to stop to take a deep breath and lower her voice again. “Explain to me because I can’t comprehend it. Why would you when basically all I’ve ever done is treat you like shit?”
Shaking her head, Brody comes closer. “Do you remember Veronica?”
The teen gives a short laugh. “You think I’d forget her? She was a total bitch.”
“Therissa!”
“What? It’s true and you know it.”
Even though Brody doesn’t like curse words, she can’t deny that her old roommate did, in fact, live up to the name Therissa just called her. Veronica was their roommate back when Brody first got to the school, a couple years before Violet. The mean-spirited teenager was rude, self-absorbed, and always had something awful to say. From the very beginning, Veronica was especially nasty to Brody, calling her names and making awful comments on just about everything she did. Being the oldest—even older than Therissa by a year—seemed to make her think that she was the boss of their bedroom. Both Brody and Therissa pretty much had to walk on eggshells whenever she was around.
And despite all of Brody’s attempts at getting her eldest roommate to tolerate her, Veronica was just plain mean up until the day she left.
“You weren’t like her,” says Brody, giving Therissa a reassuring smile. “You were kinda grumpy sometimes, but you were still nice.”
“Oh, please. I wasn’t nice to you.”
“You were!” Brody insists. “Like, on the inside. In here.” The girl places her hand over her own heart. “I don’t know how to explain it very well, but even when you said mean things, your actions were nice. You still helped me whenever I needed you. I knew that you cared. You never said it, but you showed it.”
It takes a moment for Brody’s words to sink in, but when they do, they hit Therissa hard. All the teen can do is sit there in stunned silence. Everyone Therissa has ever known has always taken what she’s had to give at face value. Nobody has cared enough to look deeper than that. They hear her sharp words and see her cold guise and shy away, easily fooled into believing that there’s nothing else there. But realizing that there’s been someone who could see right through her this whole time? Someone who hasn’t given up on her despite everything she’s said and done? Therissa has never been more touched… and she has never wanted to hug Brody Burress more than she does at this very moment.
And for once in her miserable life, she doesn’t hold back.
Even if it’s mostly to buy herself time to blink her tears away before Brody can see them.
Therissa reaches out and envelopes Brody in the tightest hug, hoping that it conveys her gratitude in a way that she can’t quite express in words. Thank you. The teen keeps the embrace long enough to swallow the lump in her throat and recompose herself. Only one person is allowed to cry in their bedroom per day, otherwise it becomes too much for Therissa. But she does allow herself to say one more thing, and this time she has a good feeling that it won’t get lost in translation. “How did someone like you get stuck in the same room as someone like me?”
In typical Therissa fashion, her kindness comes out in a way that sounds like a joke, but Brody hears the underlying meaning. I’m glad that we’re roommates.
“Maybe ‘cause they knew we’d be good together,” comes Brody’s simple reply. Her voice is muffled by Therissa’s jacket, but it’s clear that the girl is positively beaming. It’s such a rare occurrence for Therissa to initiate any sort of physical affection, so Brody is over the moon knowing that this is just for her.
“Yeah, maybe,” Therissa says softly, giving Brody one final squeeze before letting her go. The teen used to think it was a bit twisted for whoever was in charge of room assignments to leave a defenseless lamb like Brody right at the entrance of her and Veronica’s fox den. Brody was practically a baby—so sweet and pure compared to her two older roommates—and Therissa honestly wasn’t expecting the arrangement to work out. But when she looks back on it now? Maybe they were onto something. “You know you can call me out on my bullshit, right? If I’m ever being insensitive or rude to you for no reason, I want you to feel like you can be straight with me. No more keeping it to yourself. Got it?”
Brody nods, but not very confidently. “I’ll try.”
“Just be like”—Therissa grins cheekily and puts on a heavy drawl, clearly trying to imitate Brody’s accent—“‘Oh, you hush your mouth, Therissa! You’re bein’ a big meanie!’ and I’ll, like, take a chill pill.”
The uncharacteristically playful display has its desired effect on Brody, as the younger girl dissolves into a fit of giggles. “I don’t talk like that!”
Therissa pokes Brody in the leg, smirking. “You totally do.”
“I can do you, too,” says Brody, moving to stand on her knees so that she’s taller than Therissa. She puts her hands on her hips and puts on an exaggerated frown, which ends up being more of a funny, tight-lipped pout from trying her hardest not to laugh. “Ugh, fine, I guess I’ll watch a movie with you before I go back to class, or whatever.”
“What? I’ve never—” Therissa stops mid-sentence, suddenly realizing exactly what Brody is doing. She shakes her head, chuckling. “Oh my god. Okay, I’ve gotta hand it to you. That was pretty impressive.”
“So…?”
When it comes to skipping class, Therissa doesn’t have to be asked twice. Today, however, she had already been planning to stay a little longer, just to make sure Brody’s really okay. Therissa stretches out on the bed to make herself more comfortable and gives a thumbs-up. “As long as it’s not something lame.”
With an excited cheer, Brody hops out of bed to fetch her DVD player and begins spouting off a list of movie titles and plot summaries for Therissa. What she doesn’t know is that the teenager is only pretending to consider all of the options. Therissa has already decided that she’s going to let Brody choose today. After all that’s happened, it’s the least she can do. Therissa’s just going to sit back, relax, and enjoy whatever movie her roomie picks out for them to watch.
Even if it is something lame.

alright the answers will be pretty short because I’m no fic writers I can’t long stuff sdkdkdjk but I still can write some sentences
1. Random headcanon:
- ok so I recently I just watched a kdrama called ‘my horrible boss’ and I thought ‘SWAN QUEEN’ basically this headcanon is the plot of the show: there’s a new neighbor just moved in next door and said neighbor’s stuff was blocking the door of emma’s apartment which made her almost late for work because she couldn’t get out of her apartment. when she got to her work place she was informed that sales department got a new boss, which was also emma’s new boss, her name was regina mills and she was a hbic. later after work she went back home, henry was crying because someone stole his bike and he said he saw the bike was placing at the new neighbor’s balcony. emma went knocking her neighbor’s door demanding them to return henry’s bike. first it was a guy who opened the door, he said wait there while he went fetched the real house owner, annnnd BOOM it was emma’s new boss regina who just moved in emma’s next door :D it’s basically a comedy, damn I wish I could write this.
2. Why I started shipping them
- um??? hello??? have you seen them????? the savior and the evil queen? they shared a son together???? saved each other multiple times???? both had shared true love kiss with henry? they are the perfect modern fairy tale we deserve
the answers are getting too long so here’s the cut
3. An au I want to see
- see 1 :D but also harry potter au where regina and emma adopted harry (henry is still there, he’s the same age of the weasley twins and he’s a good big brother to harry)
4. How do they get together?
- after a long slow burn + mutual pining + angst, because they are both stubborn idiots
5. Who has the tackiest fashion sense?
- I would say emma lmao
6. Who hogs the blanket?
- regina
7. Who come up with cheesy pickup lines/puns?
- oh definitely emma, she is such a goof
8. Who (tries to) cook?
- I would love to think emma actually can cook but she doesn’t show it often so one day when she says she will cook and actually manage to do it regina and henry are shoooook
9. Who blushes furiously when the other says sappy shit?
- regina
10. Nicknames/pet names?
- dear, darling
11. How often/how do they say “I love you”?
- maybe it’s hard to say those words at first but after a while they say ‘ I love you’ to each other pretty often, which makes henry goes ‘ewww moms c’mon’ lmao teenagers
12. What do they fight about?
- what old married couples fight ? probably when emma forgets to place her shoes at the right place or regina sometimes changes the tv channels when emma is watching, just some small stuff, but they made up eventually
13. Who’s more of a cat person?
- I would say regina
14. Who makes innuendos to make the other blush?
- oh definitely regina
15. Who does the romantic gestures like flowers or chocolate?
- they both do :D

Destination Unknown - Part 3
Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5, Part 6, Part 7 -Final-
Pairing: Wonho x reader
Genre: Angst & Fluff
Word Count: 3.1k
Synopsis: You are best friends with Wonho but you don’t have the guts to actually tell him how you really feel. Let’s see how long you can hide it.
a/n: This part has a lot of angst, get ready friends.
Tumblr media
As you’re walking through the parking lot, you feel someone grab your wrist and pull you back. “We need to talk.” The man says. It was a man you’ve never seen nor met before.
“Who are you?” You say as you snatch your hand from out of his grasp.
“My name is Jinsun, we pass by each other often.” He says smiling shyly.
You were getting bad vibes from him and felt the need to run from him, but you kept calm. “I’m sorry sir but I should really be going now.” You say, then turn around, only to be grabbed and yanked back. He was gripping your wrist very tightly.
“Maybe we should go out on a date y/n, you’re very beautiful.” He says, pulling your hand up to his face, wanting to kiss your knuckles. You pull your hand away fast, before he could actually go through with it.
“Look, I don’t know who you are or how you know my name, but please leave me alone.” You state, but then you see a very dark look on his face and it sends chills down your spine. He opens his mouth to say something when someone cuts him off.
“She said to leave her alone, you should respect her decision.” You turn your head to see Jooheon walking towards you with the rest of the guys following. The strange man grumbles, sticks his hands in his pocket, and before he passes you, he whispers, “I’ll be back for you doll.” Then he walks away.
Fear, is what you were feeling. Some random guy just said he would be back for you, and the thought of it gave you goosebumps. Maybe he was bluffing? Maybe he was just pulling a prank or something? You thought. “Y/n...Y/n!” You hear Jooheon’s voice and it snaps you out of your thoughts. You turn to look at him, still in shock from the stranger. “Are you okay?” Jooheon asks, worried. You simply nod your head. You look at the time on your phone, and notice you missed your bus.
“Damn it, sorry guys I have to go.” You say in a hurry, then turn around and begin walking away.
As you make your way down the parking lot, you still feel scared, as the strange man's voice kept repeating in your head like a broken record. Suddenly, you feel a hand wrap around your wrist again. In defense, you turn around quickly, bag in hand, eyes closed, as you hit the person who grabbed you.
“Hey y/n wait! It’s me!” You immediately stop at the voice you knew all too well. You open your eyes to see Wonho rubbing his head.
“Don’t sneak up on me like that!” You shouted, trying to calm your racing heart.
“I was calling your name over and over, trying to get your attention! You zoned out or something!” Wonho said in defense. You sighed, calming down.
“Well what do you want?” You said harshly, remembering back to what he said a week ago.
“I wanted to make sure you got home safe, so I was gonna walk you home.” He says softly. You wanted so bad to tell him to go away. You didn’t want to see him right now. You were scared to be alone with Wonho and have to deal with him face to face. But the fear of that other man showing up again like he said he would, scared you a million times more.
“Fine, I guess.” Is all you tell him, before turning back around and starting to walk home.
Like you said before, the distance from your work to your home wasn’t that far. It was like a 15 minute walk. For the whole time though, of you walking home with Wonho beside you, he didn’t say a thing. He said nothing, and neither did you. It was like there was this brick wall between the both of you, and neither wanted to break it down. So instead of trying, you both let the wall remain, splitting you guys apart more and more.
When you finally did make it to your house, you left Wonho’s side without hesitation. “Thanks.” Is all you told him, but it was more like a soft mumble. You typed in your pass-code slow, secretly hoping he would stop you, hug you, tell you he didn’t mean what he said, and that he really loved you. You wanted it to all be a misunderstanding.
You don’t realize the tears streaming down your face, as you open your door. “Y/n…” Wonho says, right before you step in all the way.  Your back is facing him. “Why have you been so distant lately? You’ve been acting so strange. You know, you can tell me anything, I’m here for you.” He says. He wanted you to turn around, and come to him. He wanted to hold you.
“I’m okay, everything is fine.” You say in a monotone voice. How can he just lie to your face like that?
You step in your house, back still facing him. He didn’t want you to leave when the tension was still so high, so he thought, Maybe I should joke around with her to lighten the mood. “You know I love you dummy, sweet dreams!” he says, chuckling. You stop in your tracks almost instantly, it was like something in you snapped.
“Shut up.” You say, letting the words flow out of your mouth harshly.
“Huh?” He asks, shocked, not making any sense of what you said.
“I said to shut up. Shut up, and stop lying.” You say, finally turning around, looking him straight in the eyes. Your tears are flowing, like a heavy stream. He looks at you with wide eyes.
“What’s the matter?” He asks, taking small steps towards you. You know, you thought you wanted him to tell you he was kidding and really did love you, but when he actually said it, you got angry. Bullshit. You thought.  “You don’t love me, stop lying.” You say in a soft voice, barely above a whisper.
Seeing you there shaking, Wonho just wanted to hold you and kiss you and tell you everything was going to be alright. That whole week of you ignoring him and him not seeing you, hurt. It hit him that he wanted you. He needed you. He loved you more than words could say. He was going to confess when he saw you again. He was working up the courage to do it.
Wonho reaches his arms out in an attempt to hold you. You step away from him, an angry look on your face. “Don’t touch me.” Is all you mutter at first. You slowly take more steps away from him.
“What’s gotten into you y/n? You know I love you. You know what? I didn’t want to tell you like this, but I love you more than a friend, and...” He says, his eyes starting to tear up, his words coming out strained. He couldn’t finish his sentence, it was too hard. What if you rejected him?
You scoffed, not believing him for a damn second. “What do you mean? Stop lying. Why would someone like me? I’m not exactly girlfriend material, have you seen what I look like?” You say, throwing his own words back at him. He didn’t know what to say. He couldn’t believe any of this was real. You turn around fast and walk fully into your house.
“No. No, y/n I swear I didn’t mean-” He started, but you cut him off.
“Save it.’’ Then you slammed the door.
You slowly slid down against the door, as Wonho continuously knocked, desperately asking you to let him in.
You got up, wiped your tears, and walked to your room. You throw your bag on the floor, and throw his hoodie off of you and toss it in your closet. You shut your door, lock it, then head to your speakers, blast your music, and you collapse on your bed, drowning out Wonho’s pleads for you to let him in. You can’t quite remember when, but you lied there and eventually fell asleep, not caring to change, not caring to eat dinner, and not caring to move.
Wonho soon stopped. He sat at your doorstep for some time, recalling the events that unfolded. He should have never said such harsh things about you to Shownu. Even if he wasn’t ready to admit his feelings to anybody back then, he still shouldn’t have been so cruel. He now had to pay the price.
Suddenly, he saw a flash go off, followed by a ‘click’ sound. Was that a picture being taken? He questions. He looks around, but sees nothing so he shakes off the weird feeling, and decides to go home. He walks away, feeling a strange sense of discomfort, but tries to ignore it, as he thinks of ways he can make it up to you.
“BUM BUM BUM YALL KNOW WHAT IT IS MAN HAHA MONSTA MONSTA X X WHAT WHAT WHAT OKAY MAN LET'S GO BUM BUM BUM BUM”
You hear your ringtone go off, and it snaps you out of slumber. You pat around the bed looking for it, but when you finally find it, you missed the call. Yeah, your ringer was Hero by Monsta x, so what? It was a bop, and you wanted to support your boys.
Anyways, you look down at the caller I.D. and it was an unknown number. You didn’t think much of it. You look at the time, and it read 7am. You groan, unable to fall back asleep.
After mentally preparing yourself to get your lazy butt up, you walk out of your room, and step into the kitchen, making a cup of coffee to start your day. As your coffee starts brewing, you go to your T.V and pick a show to watch, deciding on some sappy drama. You watch it for a bit, then head back to the kitchen to finish making your coffee. When you finish, you take your coffee with you back to the couch and drink it while you finish the episode you were watching, slowly getting out of your sleepy state the more you drank your coffee.
You get up to get some breakfast when you finish your episode. You open your refrigerator to see barely anything. I guess I better get a few groceries. You drag yourself back to your room and pull out something casual and basic to wear. Simple pants and a simple shirt.
Wonho’s hoodie catches your attention from the corner of your eye. You lift up your hand to reach for it, but lower your hand back down in defeat. You ultimately decide on grabbing one of your hoodies instead and throw it on.
You enter your bathroom in your room and look at the mirror, noticing your puffy eyes caused by the night before. You put on some light eyeliner to try to make your face seem somewhat decent. You huffed in annoyance, then left the bathroom and grabbed your bag.
You put your shoes on in silence. A heavy feeling in your chest hurt, and continued to sink deeper. You left your house finally, put your earbuds in, blasted your music, then left down the street. There was a market not far from where you lived. You loved the location of your home, it was near so many things like markets, stores, fun places to hang out, and even your work. When you finally made it to the market, you didn’t take long to get your things. You did what you intended, which was go in and go out. No dilly-dallying. Your phone buzzed, and you looked down to see a text from Jooheon.
“Hey are you busy? Can we meet at the Ramen shop by your house?”
You let a small smile show.
“No I’m free. I’m on my way now.” You replied.
You needed to see a friendly face. You didn’t have many bags either, so it was not a problem to visit your friend at all. You were rather excited to be honest.
You made your way to the Ramen shop, songs blasting in your ears, and you loved it. You loved music. About 10 minutes, more or less, passed, and you could tell because three songs passed on your playlist. You were nearing the ramen shop, when your phone buzzed again. You assumed it was Jooheon, so you opened it without even bothering to look at the caller tag.
“You look lovely today doll.” The text read. You checked the caller I.D. and notice it was the unknown number that called you that morning.
You looked up from your phone, and see nobody around that looks suspicious. Your phone then buzzes again. It buzzes again, and again, and again, spamming you. You look down and read it. You break out in a cold sweat and your blood runs hot. It’s a picture of the night before, of you and Wonho. Pictures of Wonho walking you home, of you guys arguing, and of Wonho sitting on your doorstep. What the hell? The pictures seemed endless. How many did this person take?
“Can’t you see he doesn’t deserve you? He made such a beautiful girl cry.” A new text read.
Your heart was beating at immense speed, your breathing became uneven, you were panicking again.
“Who is this?”  You reply, your hands viciously shaking, making it hard for you to type. You phone buzzed quickly after you responded, signaling that the person responded.
“You know who I am doll, we never finished our conversation yesterday.” That’s when it hit you. It was that man. Jinso or Juiceu or Jasu or something like that. You were bad at names.
You started walking very fast towards the ramen shop you were meeting Jooheon at. You were freaking out, why wouldn’t you be? You hear your phone buzz again, it basically giving you a heart attack.
“Where are you off to in such a hurry? That isn’t the way to your house doll.” He said, and it made chills run down your spine, and you quicken your footsteps.
You ran into the ramen shop, vision blurry, fully panicking when you made it there. You smacked hard into someone’s back and you fell to the floor. No, nobody caught you like in the sappy drama you were watching earlier. You fell, and you fell hard, letting out a big smack sound when you hit the floor.
You struggle to realize what happened, everything was happening so fast. Someone grabs your hand, helping you back up. “Y/n what happened, are you okay?” You hear someone say. You blink a few times, snapping yourself back into reality, and you realize Jooheon calling your name trying to get your attention.
“Huh, what?” You say, still adapting to your surroundings.
“You look like you’ve seen a ghost. Did something happen?” He asks, extremely worried.
Finally being fully aware, you shake your head. “No, I just didn’t want to make you wait so I ran, I wasn’t watching where I was going though.” You said, letting out an awkward giggle. You didn’t want him to worry.
Jooheon didn’t really believe it but he didn’t push the subject, not wanting to make you more uncomfortable than you already looked.
You guys took a seat at the table and made small talk. You were still somewhat off in your own world. Time flew and you guys sat there for about a half an hour. Your phone began to buzz, and you were so glad you turned your ringer off so that Hero didn’t start bumping out of nowhere.
You look at the caller tag, and it said Wonho’s name. Your heart stopped. You immediately pressed ignore, then continued your time with Jooheon. You guys laughed together, ate some good ramen, then you told him you better head home. He walked you out and gave you a big hug. You then parted ways. You hurried home, scared to run into that man again.
You went in your house, and first went to your kitchen to put the small amount of groceries you got away in the cabinets and fridge. Then you plumped down on the couch. Your phone then buzzed.
“I don’t like you surrounded by other guys, it makes me jealous.” The text read, followed by a picture of you and Jooheon at the ramen shop.
You immediately blocked the number after that. You refused to let some guy that you didn’t even know, scare the shit out of you anymore. You were stronger than that. You already had stuff going on, you didn’t need more on your plate. All of a sudden, your phone starts buzzing rapidly, and someone was calling you.
It can’t be that man, I blocked him! You told yourself. You turn your phone over to see Wonho’s name on the screen. You let out a sigh of relief. Then you wonder if you should answer it or not. You didn’t want to lose your best friend over something like this, even though it did extremely hurt.
“Hello?” You say, deciding to answer it.
It was silent for a bit. Wonho didn’t think you would actually answer. “Can I come over?” Is all he says. As much as you wanted to say no and to go away and to give you some damn time, you let him. “Sure.” You say, then hang up.
Okay so this was the plan. You were not going to let your emotions get in the way, and you were not going to act dramatic, or stupid, or mean, or anything like that. You were just going to get over it, like you did with everything else.
About twenty minutes passed, and you finally heard a knock at your door. You walk over to it, and take a deep breath, bracing yourself to see Wonho. You hesitated a bit, a sick feeling in your chest.
Maybe you should just tell him you were joking and the whole thing that happened yesterday was some prank you and Minhyuk thought of together, or you could tell him that you were just sleepy or something and kind of delusional and didn’t mean any of it. Ohhh or maybe you can say something like, “I love you, and you hurt me when you see other girls and talk shit about me behind my back and lie to me.” Yep, that’s totally not what I’m going to say.
Another knock at the door snaps you out of your thoughts. You take a deep breath, finally deciding that you were just gonna wing it. You reach for the door, and twist the handle. Your heart drops and your soul leaves your body.
“You shouldn’t have blocked me, doll.”

Dialogue/Action Tags
Tumblr media
So I’m working on a longer post for my character development series (this particular one’s on speech), but in the meantime, thought I’d do a bit of an explanation on the technical aspect of dialogue/action tags. This is actually one of the more common errors that I see when I read other people’s work, but it’s so fixable! Here are some basic rules for your dialogue:
1) If you are specifically saying that a character has said something, then there should be a comma.
Example: “It’s a date,” Joan said happily.
DO NOT:
- attach an action tag directly afterwards (ex. “It’s a date,” Joan walked away.) You cannot have actions say words. English does not work like that.
- use a period instead (ex. “It’s a date.” Joan said happily.) The comma is there to show that your sentence is not over, e.g. that you are concluding the sentence with some variant of s/he said. Using a period is just incorrect.
2) If you are not specifically saying that a character has said something, then there should be a period.
Example: “Awesome.” Jack smiled bashfully at her.
DO NOT:
- use a dialogue tag directly afterwards (ex. “Awesome.” Jack said with a grin.) A comma is needed here after “awesome” to connect what Jack is saying with the fact that he is saying it. Otherwise, what you have is two unconnected sentences: “Awesome.” and “Jack said with a grin.” Without the comma, the sentences don’t relate to each other.
- use a comma instead (ex. “Awesome,” Jack smiled bashfully at her.) You cannot “smile” words at people. You can smile while saying something to a person. Keep in mind that actions cannot SPEAK words, but you can speak WHILE performing an action.
3) If it is a question, then it basically works like #2, only with a question mark instead of a period.
Example: “So, dinner and a movie, right?” Joan said.
DO NOT:
- use a period, either in place of or after the question mark (ex. “So, dinner and a movie, right.” Joan nodded her head. OR “So, dinner and a movie, right?.” Joan said.) The first example has a completely different tone, as if Joan is repeating or remembering her plans, rather than asking about them. The second is just not correct.
- use a comma, either in place of or after the question mark (ex. “So, dinner and a movie, right,” Joan said. OR “So, dinner and a movie, right?,” Joan said.) The first example, again, has a completely different tone than a question. If that’s what you want, then all well and good, but it shouldn’t be used for a question. The second, again, is just wrong.
HOWEVER, you can use either an action or a dialogue tag after the question mark, unlike #1 and #2. Both are correct. (ex. “So, dinner and a movie, right?” Joan said. OR “So, dinner and a movie, right?” Joan tucked a strand of hair behind her ear.)
4) Generally, you want to have questions have question marks at the end of the sentence. This is because it makes the reader, in their mind, read it and go up at the end, just like they would when asking a question out loud. There are times, however, when sentences that are technically questions don’t need to have question marks. These are times when (like in real life) a character has turned a question into a statement, for whatever reason, and you as the author have decided to show this with punctuation rather than saying something like, “He made his question sound like a statement.” (Not a great example, but you get the idea.) In this case,
if a character is asking a question, but it is meant to be a statement (as in, you’re not using a question mark), then use Rule #1 or #2, depending on whether you’re using action or dialogue tags.
Example #1: “That doesn’t work for you, does it,” Jack said, disappointed.
Example #2: “That doesn’t work for you, does it.” Jack folded his arms, his heart plummeting.
KEEP IN MIND:
- that this should be used only if your intention is to make what would normally be a question into a statement (e.g. Normally: “Does it?” into “Does it.”)
- if it is supposed to be a normal question, then use the question mark. Otherwise your reader will be confused.
5) When using exclamation points, ellipses, hyphens, or any other proper punctuation at the ends of dialogue, follow the rules for #3 (and the DO NOTS).
You can use either dialogue or action tags for these.
Example #1: “No!” Joan cried, horrified. OR “No!” Joan covered her mouth, horrified.
Example #2: “Then why did you...” Jack said slowly, trying to understand. OR “Then why did you...” Jack stared at the ground and let the sentence hang in the air.
Example #3: “I just - “ she blurted, trying to make up for her earlier hesitation. OR “I just - “ She scuffed her shoes on the well-worn linoleum.
6) If the sentence is going to be broken up into two parts, and separated by a dialogue or action tag, then there are a couple of rules.
ONE, if the sentence is a full sentence, followed by a dialogue tag, then there should be a comma and then a period. If the sentence is followed by an action tag, there should be a period and then a period.
Example #1: “I’m just a little scared,” she admitted, lifting her head to look him in the eyes. “It’s our first real date and - what if it goes wrong?”
Example #2: “I’m just a little scared.” She lifted her head to look him in the eyes. “It’s our first real date and - what if it goes wrong?”
TWO, if it’s a partial or first half of a sentence, followed by a dialogue tag, then there should be a comma and then a comma.
Example: “This date,” he said, leaning closer, “is going to be amazing.”
(Generally, I would not put an action tag in between two halves of the same sentence. (Example: “This date,” he leaned in closer, “is going to be amazing.”)  I’m not sure it’s entirely correct, to be honest, so I’m leaving it off this list. If anyone knows for certain about this - if you would be so kind as to let me know so I can correct this section, it would be much appreciated).
[EDIT 4/5/18: A very kind anon has informed me that when putting an action tag in between two halves of the same sentence, you use em-dashes outside the quotation marks, like so: “This date”—he leaned in closer—”is going to be amazing.” Em-dashes are the longer dashes (I don’t believe they are a specific key on the keyboard) as opposed to the shorter ones, called hyphens, used to connect words and so on. Here is a link for those who are interested in learning more.]
DO NOT:
- use a period before the dialogue tag (see Rule #1 for the explanation)
- use a comma before the action tag (see Rule #2 for the explanation)
FOR ALL DIALOGUE: - the punctuation goes INSIDE the quotation marks - the punctuation goes INSIDE the quotation marks - the punctuation goes INSIDE the quotation marks - it does not go outside - and please do use punctuation in the first place.
Those are the basic rules that I can think of right now. And remember, when writing, it’s okay to break the rules sometimes. But when you do, try to do it for a reason, rather than just laziness.
Since you’ve all sat through this post, following the story of Joan and Jack’s plans, here’s the story in full (if you were curious):
“It’s a date,” Joan said happily.
“Awesome.” Jack smiled bashfully at her.
“So, dinner and a movie, right?” Joan said, looking away nervously.
“That doesn’t work for you, does it.” Jack folded his arms, his heart plummeting.
“No!” Joan cried, horrified.
“Then why did you...” Jack said slowly, trying to understand.
“I just - “ She scuffed her shoes on the well-worn linoleum. “I’m just a little scared,” she admitted, lifting her head to look him in the eyes. “It’s our first real date and - what if it goes wrong?”
“This date,” he said, leaning closer, “is going to be amazing.”
She smiled up at him, and it was perfect.
Sappy ending, but I figured these guys deserved it, after what I put them through!

WIP meme-ish
Thanks to @havocthecat for the inspiration.
Rules: write the latest line from a WIP and tag as many people as there are words in the line. Make a new post, don’t reblog.
Hi, my name is Kris and I write mostly Sparky, but also some other things that probably no one will ever read. To get myself motivated to keep on writing, I like doing things like these to revisit all my WIPs. I’ll put a break after 6, because it’s a long list ;) So, without further ado, the last sentence of my WIPs:
1. “Elizabeth, how are you?” Heightmeyer asked as she entered the bedroom where Teyla was helping her get ready. (Sparky - 35k fic so far. This one is so close to getting finished, but I feel I’ve been dragging it out and lost my motivation to continue)
2. “Forever,” she whispered as she closed the distance between them and kissed him, tender at first, then demanding. (Bodyguard fic where I want to give them a happy ending also close too finishing but I feel like it’s just too sappy. I just need to find a good beta for this, Someone who really knows the characters,)
3. A crooked grin appeared on his face as he nodded. “Yeah, I want to explain why I’ve been an idiot.” He looked into her eyes and realized there was still hope. Not all between them was lost. (Sparky - Fic wherein Elizabeth was send back to Earth and John acted like an idiot)
4. “He’s alive,” Elizabeth breathed in confirmation. (Sparky - where everyone thinks John has died on another planet during a mission)
5. “Giselle...” Robert said in a warning tone and she immediately went quiet, remembering their little talk earlier in the day when he told her that not everyone was that open-minded when it came to talking animals and stories about princesses and monsters. (Enchanted fic - basically a continuation after the movie. But again I think it’s too sappy and I should find a beta to confirm/deny that)
6. She nodded and moved to get off of the bed. He put a hand over her arm and looked at her questioningly. “What are you doing?” (The Pretender - Jarod/Miss Parker - I’m not sure I’ve got their voices right and I might need to do a whole rewrite)
7. "What if we stayed?" Marc said. "Mom and I have no one else here. Mom would be devastated if she heard she'd never see Angie again, or never got to know her grandson." (Sparky - 20k so far - sort of an AU where the Asuran attack never happened, but after leading the expedition for over 4 years, Elizabeth is send back to Earth and John faces his feelings for her. In this Marc is Elizabeth's brother)
8. “Maybe you should keep him in the infirmary a bit longer,” Teyla proposed. “ We have no missions planned any time soon because of the repairs anyway.” (Sparky - set after The Long Goodbye where John and Elizabeth actually talk about what happened, but then Atlantis gets attacked and it all goes to hell)
9. Ellis sighed again, he knew they would lose a lot more time if they continued their search and it turned up empty. (Sparky - My Missing Moments fic which I started uploading to AO3 - 41k so far and I still need to write like 40 chapters...)
10. “Great. See you tomorrow then,” he sounded happy again and in a strange way that made her happy. It surprised her how easily she could read his feelings by just hearing his voice. (Babylon 5 - John/Delenn - An AU where in their next life they meet each other while they’re attending NYU)
11. It only took her a couple of minutes to change and soon they were on their way to her old quarters. (Sparky - set a year after Lifeline)
12. “And what do you propose we do? Kidnap General Landry or General O’Neill and demand her return?” John barked in reply. He was suddenly sick of this; sick of battling for something that never could happen. “Grow up, McKay. Some things just aren’t meant to be. The world isn’t perfect. Far from it. Some things just don’t happen,” he growled as he wiped the tears off his face and stomped off the balcony back into the city. (Sparky - apparently I really like writing fic where Elizabeth is send back to Earth and John stays behind feeling completely lost. Now if only I managed to finish them.)
13. “I’d love to be a fly on the wall for that conversation.” Grodin grinned. “Sorry, General, it was on a need-to-know basis and you didn’t need to know.” (Sparky AU that starts 2 months before the expedition is set to leave. Started writing this for the bigbang many years ago.)
14. “Elizabeth?” Rodney yelled again. He had heard someone else yell and he wasn’t sure what had happened. “Elizabeth? I don’t know if you can hear me but I’m here alone. I don’t know where Sheppard is and the last thing I remember was that he was badly wounded. Elizabeth?” (Sparky - I like it, but I’m not sure I’ve captured their voices right)
15. Slowly he made his way through the upper dining room. The doors were wide open, so he had to be very silent because he couldn’t be sure how many sweepers were out there. (The Pretender - Jarod/Miss Parker - I think I stopped writing this one because it seemed to be going in the same direction of other of these fics I had written before, so I might do a rewrite)
16. Parker glared at the pretender. “I told you that I’d get it done.” (The Pretender - Jarod/Miss Parker - I think I stopped writing for the same reason as above. It has kinda the same premise, yet again.)
17, “Exactly!” John agreed without hesitation. He’d be the first one to demand extra security to help keep their leader safe, but he had been to visit the Telsjeck countless times and he knew they could be trusted.  (Sparky - written for a Christmas challenge. I might try to finish it for this year’s Christmas)
18. Sunday came much too slow for him. Work didn’t hold his interest as it used to as she was mostly on his mind. Saturday seemed even worse; the day crawled past at a frustratingly slow pace. When Sunday finally came around, he was at the train station bright and early. (Sparky - a future fic where John has left the SGC after they returned to Earth and then meets a school teacher who looks exactly like Elizabeth)
19. Cam shrugged. “I trust your insight, so no need to explain. Just be careful out there.” (Sparky - My take on what would have happened if John had asked old!Rodney in ‘The Last Man’ about Elizabeth. Some chapters of these are also up on AO3.)

ship meme: all the odd numbers
Ship Meme :: Potential Headcanonswith @cantbebroken ( so since they’re technically not together yet, thisis just my prediction and how I feel they would be once it did happen andthings started getting out in the open. put under the readmore because this turned out to be a monster because i can get detailed )
1.       - How do theyfall asleep? Wake up? Any daily rituals?  Before they got together, Jace rarely spent the night, so oncethey got together, Jace pretty much moved into Grimm’s room after muchassurance from Grimm that it was okay.  They head to bed around the sametime, as they both work fairly early.  They’ll fall asleep cuddling, butgenerally drift apart throughout the night.  They have an alarm set thatJace is more prone to wake up to, and then coaxes Grimm out of the bed. Depending on the morning, sometimes they’ll shower together.  Othermornings, the Jace will shower and Grimm will make breakfast since he prefershis showers after getting home.
2.       - Are they openabout their relationship? How do they feel about public displays of affection?  At first, no, because of Jace’sinsecurities instilled in him by his dad.  In the beginning, there isn’treally any PDA, because Jace is terrified of the repercussions. The only oneswho know about the relationship for real are Jace’s dad (I would think he’dexpect it anyway since Jace moves out of his house and in with Grimm), Grimm’ssister, and their workmates.  After they’re together for awhile and Grimmbreaks through the walls Jace built up and makes him feel safe, they are opento minor displays of affection, like hand holding and pressing up against eachother when sitting close, maybe small kisses and things like that, though Grimmisn’t fond of getting overly affectionate in public
3.       - Nicknames?Pet names? Any in-jokes?  Jace is known at Grimm’s work as John Clark.  Grimm callsJace blondie sometimes when he’s teasing and not being serious, and Grimm alsouses “babe” as a pet name to his lovers.  I feel like Jace callsGrimm babe as well, and honestly, I feel like he’d call him “Blue” too. Like, when asked, he’d tell Grimm it’s because of his eyes, but secretly it’sprobably because Nel showed him pictures of Grimm as a teenager with blue hair.
4.       - What annoysthem the most about their partner? Would they change it if they could?  Jace hates Grimm’s fighting. He doesn’t like it one bit and while he knows Grimm loves it and doesn’tsay anything because he feels like it’s not his place to say stop, he woulddefinitely change that.  And Grimm’s stubbornness I’m sure gets on hisnerves every now and then.  For Grimm, it’s Jace’s attempts at trying tojustify his father’s actions.  He actually avoids talking about the man ifat all possible because he doesn’t want to hear Jace try to argue for the man. Jace is also stubborn as fuck about certain things which frustratesGrimm.
5.       - Do theydiscuss big issues? Religion? Marriage? Children? Death?  They’re not really planneddiscussions, no.  Like, for talking about children, I feel like one dayGrimm would see a kid do something stupid and make a comment on how much hehates kids, and that would spark a conversation about kids.  Or Grimmwould make a comment about a giant wedding that’s being advertised about acelebrity and it would spark a conversation about weddings and lowkey marriage(and yes Grimm would be the spark to conversations because of his lack offilter).  I don’t think they would really talk about getting married. I feel like it would kinda just happen and they would talk lowkey aboutit during the engagement period.
6.       - Do theycelebrate holidays? Anniversaries?  Yes. They celebrate anniversaries because they are important to both of them, and especially to Jace, so Grimm tries extra hard to remember them.  Mostly, he’ll probably just remember firstdate up until they get married and just remember that, which I feel like Jacewould be totally fine with.  Theycelebrate holidays thanks to Jace and Nel. Jace likes to celebrate because it reminds him of his mother, or atleast what he could remember of her, and Nel is just a jovial person and lovesto celebrate the holidays as a way to get back together with the family and asan excuse to decorate.
7.       - What do theydo for fun? Do they have a favorite activity or do they like to switch thingsup?  Grimm likes camping, and it’s his escape, hisidea of fun.  He has roped Jace into theactivity and though the younger complains about it a lot, he enjoys it and theymake a weekend of it.  Jace is forever acity boy, though, and while he enjoys camping he likes taking Grimm to the citywith him, take him on bar crawls, into the clubs, movies, things like that.
8.       - Howadventurous are they?  Pretty adventurous.  They both like to try new things, both in andout of the bedroom.  ;)
9.       - What wouldmake them break up? Would it be permanent? Hmm… that’s a hard one, sinceGrimm generally doesn’t get emotionally involved with people if he unless hefelt it was going to last.  I think Grimmmight break up with Jace if he ever went back to his dad.  Like, he wouldn’t be able to handle it on anemotional level without the urge to kill someone.  Jace… hmmm… I could see him breaking up withGrimm if the fight club thing got to be too much and maybe even if he went backto his dad to protect Grimm.  Though Idon’t really see that happening and any break up that happened, I don’t seelasting.  Not unless there was cheatinginvolved and again, I don’t really see that happening.
10.   - What do they fight about? What aretheir arguments like? How do they make up? Generally, they don’t fight.  When they do, it’s about stupid little thingswhen they’re sleep deprived.  Grimm canget his panties in a bunch pretty quickly on certain subjects and when bigchange happens, so when those happen Grimm can get pretty irate, yelling canhappen, and he’ll probably end up storming out. Make up happens through apologies, gifts, sex, and cuddles. Theygenerally talk it out in each other’s arms and lots of apologies for beingstupid.
11.   - Do they share any interests orhobbies?  Not directly.  They both like togo camping and to travel.  They bothenjoy staying busy and so they work together with keeping up the house – Jace doinga lot of the cleaning and Grimm doing a lot of the maintenance andrepairs.
12.   - How do they hug? Kiss? Tease? Flirt?Comfort?  When they hug, Grimm practically envelopes himself around Jace.  Jace likes to nestle up into his neck tobreathe Grimm in.  When they kiss, sweetly, Grimm’s arms generally wrap around Jace’s torso, and Jace’s arms goaround Grimm’s neck and his hands into Grimm’s hair.  When it’s more sensual, it’s much the same exceptrougher with tugging on clothes and hair. When they tease, Grimm tends to go after things to try and make Jaceblush or acting bashful, and Jace just picks on cute sappy moments that Grimmparticipates in because it rarely happens and he likes to eat up.  They are very direct with their flirting, saying exactly how they feel with no filter, especially Grimm.  Jace is a little classier about it, moresuave and coy, but in general, both are pretty bold and forward.  As for comfort, it just depends on the levelof comfort needed.  Sometimes a bathtogether is needed, or one holding the other in bed or on the couch during amovie.  Sometimes, all that’s needed arehead scratches for Grimm, or neck kisses and back rubs for Jace.
13.   - How much time do they spendtogether? Do they share their feelings, or hold things in?  Theyspend a lot of time together, especially at the beginning.  I feel like they naturally grow apart and aremore comfortable doing their own thing on their own after a bunch of timepasses, but for the most time, with the exception of work, they basically doeverything together.  As for sharingfeelings, both of them are horrible at sharing. Jace holds it in because it’s what he was taught to do since he was achild, and it’s a habit he’s found hard to break.  On top of that, he really doesn’t like burdeningGrimm.  As for Grimm, he’s never hadanyone to share with.  Grimm basicallywent through the same thing and has a hard time opening up to anyone.  It took quite a bit of therapy and evenafter, he struggles.  When things getbad, they’ll open up and talk, but if they openly talk about anything, it’s goodfeelings, not so much bad.  Those getheld in.
14.   - Do they have kids? Grow oldtogether? Split up?  No kids.  Grimm is pretty adamantabout that and Jace is pretty compliant. I see them growing old together.
15.   - How do the handle disasters oremergencies? Minor injuries? Sickness?  I see them being pretty calm duringdisasters and emergencies for the most part. Grimm is pretty good as long as he’s not stuck in a cramped space, he’dbe good.  Jace is pretty much the same, though I feel like he’s probably what anchors everything in emergencies and actsmore like the adult.  Grimm has been usedto taking care of his own injuries since early childhood, and he still prettymuch handles his own injuries, though he slowly lets Jace help over time.  Jace is the same, though Grimm is a little pushierabout helping as he’s pretty overprotective of Jace after everything.  Jace is pretty good about staying in bed andtaking care of himself when he’s sick, and Grimm makes sure to feed him andgive him plenty of fluids.  Grimm takes alittle more persuasion and more of a push to keep Grimm in bed and taking careof himself.
16.   - Do they finish each other’ssentences? Pick up any phrases or habits from each other? Know when the otheris hiding something?  No, they don’t finish each other’ssentences, though they do cut each other off a lot.  I think Grimm probably picks up some of Jace’scleaning habits and I feel like Jace probably starts cussing a lot more afterbeing around Grimm since he has a sailor mouth. Also, both are pretty good at hiding things, as they’ve been hiding the ultimatesecret for years, but they can usually tell when something is off with theother, when something is bothering them.
17.   - What kind of presents do they geteach other? Do they only do it on special occasions?   Theyusually go for something meaningful, something they know the other is going touse regularly or cherish.  A lot oftimes, the gifts aren’t physical. Sometimes they’ll go on trips, do something special together.  Grimm is the master of gift giving.
18.   - Do they bring out the best in eachother, or the worst? Do they have a fatal flaw?   Ithink they bring out the best.  Jacedefinitely does in Grimm, and I think Grimm instills a newfound confidence inJace.  I wouldn’t say it’s fatal, butboth boys have giant insecurities and scars that I think could be easily openedand taken advantage of.
19.   - How much would they be willing tosacrifice for the other? Any lines they refuse to cross?  I don’tthink there are any lines they wouldn’t cross, and maybe that’s their fatalflaw.  I mean, if it would protect theother, I feel that they’d get to the point of dying for the other.
20.   - Who initiated the relationship? Whokissed who first?  When did they realize they were in love?  Mmm…Grimm will probably be the person to initiate the relationship, though Jace isdefinitely going to be the person that first says “I love you.”  Grimm flirted first, and I mean, they meteach other, they were both super thirsty and kind of went straight to the sex,so I think the kiss was mutual, probably started by Grimm as he’s very much theinitiator and aggressor in those situations. I think they realized there were feelings involved when they startedhanging out more outside of just having sex. Grimm realized he really liked the other when he craved parts of theother that he couldn’t have due to stupid curfews and whatnot, and I’m thinkingJace started realizing around that time too, when he had to choose between timewith Grimm and obeying his father, probably feeling regret with having to obeythe old man.
21.   - Are they party-goers? What are theylike when they’re drunk? Does it happen often? I don’t see them really as partygoers, but they do kind of live life on the edge.  Before they got together, both were involvedwith one night stands, both drank, and Grimm did drugs.  After getting together with Jace, he wouldstop the weed and try to cut back on the drinking.  I don’t think Jace goes as heavy as hedoes.  When they do drink, they drinktogether or around the other.  If theyboth get drunk, they either have drunken sex with lots of laughing and giggles,or hardcore naked cuddle time.  When onegets drunk and the other stays sober, the sober one coddles the other and makessure they are comfortable and taken care of.
22.   - Do they talk often? What about?  Iwouldn’t say often, but definitely enough. Neither of them are really the talking type.  They say what needs to be said to convey amessage, keep the other up to date. Sometimes, when things are bad they might talk about that, but they’renot overly chatty and they don’t really do the small talk thing.
23.   - Any special dreams or goals theyhave as a couple? Any heartbreaks? Regrets? Not as a couple, no. They haveindividual goals.  Jace wants to go tocollege in the beginning.  It wasdefinitely a regret he has for not having gone through school earlier.  Grimm wants to travel cross country one moretime before he gets to old to do it, and he wants to take Jace with him.
