Pondering Ghosts are Dragons, and just rotating each design in my head I have for them. That is the ghosts we see in the show more than just once or twice lol. Just pondering each of them and potential types and descriptions and how the people of Amity see them, as they’re used to the dragons around, vs say someone from Outside, crossover or no, who are Not used to the maybe slightly eldritch undeath interdimensional dragons around everywhere.
That is not normal for other people.
To the Amity Parkers? Boxy is simply a chonky dragon with small boxy wings and covered in blue scales. To people just coming into the city, it’s like seeing a giant komodo dragon when you’re just walking home- not something you exactly want to see and something that is dangerous.
Kitty’s and Johnny’s weekly relationship tussle? Par for the course really. But to visitors? Two giant wyverns tearing into each other, shimmering greens that could be scales, could be tendrils, and shadows lengthening and thrashing like a living beast all its own.
And this is just the small dragonlings, not even beginning with larger ones like Pandora and Fright Knight, chill as they may be.
Outsiders don’t understand that they’re more than just animals. Amity is used to this, but people who have no clue what’s going on? They don’t.
They call the police, the heroes, the government, for help, for answers. And that? That the GIW can use.
Something super pointless and self-indulgent I've had on the backburner for a while. I love trying to make the pieces they gave us fit together!
Al-AN and Robin would absolutely bond over learning about each other's biology. I could talk about this forever but I'll get into all of the headcanons I have for these two in another post eventually
Below the cut is another version with some extra bits and pieces and the transcription

Architect Anatomy
A. Architect "Brain" - Doesn't "store" information so much as allow for easy communication with the network
B. Brainstem - connects the information received to the central nervous/circulatory system
C. "Heart" - Circulatory system pumps the bioluminescent fluid to other organ systems and surface veins. Each node connects to a vast vasculature network
D. "Kidneys" - Organs that filter the bioluminescent "blood" and other bodily fluids, absorbing and distributing collected material
E. Nerve Center - Receives raw sensory data and filters it. Filtering can be unconscious or intentional
F. "Respiratory" Tract - Intakes gases or liquids and filters out material for use. Disposes of waste on exhale. Provides cooling to internal systems
The respiratory tract functions less like a set of lungs and more akin to a computer's cooling system, with the ability to absorb material from the environment to use in other parts of the body. It also would likely help the architect's body analyze the environment it is currently exposed to on a molecular level. It is also truly unidirectional, with the intake vents near the "collarbone" and the exhaust vents on both sides of the abdomen
The architect organ cache in-game felt like it was definitely not a complete model of the internal organs, so I wanted to come up with something to fill some more space. I also just really liked the idea of Al-An being capable of something similar to breathing, without having a respiratory system in the traditional sense.
Feel free to use any of this in your own headcanons if you would like :)
I’m so excited to share these little guys, especially after teasing at a pair of saltwater fish earrings coming to the shop. I remember seeing these guys in an aquarium for the first time and almost crying my eyes out because of how cool they were lol.
Womper information sheet. What’s a spec bio project without a lovable dog like creature to accompany your little sentient buddy. The Wompers have been domesticated for the use of the Zaabua. Many have their own duties just like your casual dog breed either if it’s for protecting, warning of danger, hunting or for emotional support.
really nailing down the skirl's body blueprint, i think this is pretty finalized and hopefully there wont be many new major changes anytime soon. the largest change i have made here is the removal of the tertiary lungs, as in they only have a single set in their neck now, along with the smaller set in their head. i moved the secondary nostrils up towards the "collar" area. i found three lungs to be kind of excessive. the secondary nostrils are there instead of just having primary nostrils to allow the secondary lungs in the head to become isolated from the rest of the respiratory system for continuous broadcasting and long-term calls without needing to stop for air.
anyways, these two individuals are the two main characters we will be seeing when i begin fleshing out their story. the one on the top, who i have yet to name, presents a piebald-like mutation and complete lack of patterning outside of her natural fur and skin color. shes the youngest of the two by a long shot, being around 16-17? in this drawing, though in the story, she will be around 8-9. skirls mature slightly quicker but have similar lifespans to humans, growing to their full height at around 15 years. shes naïve, ungraceful, and full of curiosity.
the second one, who i have named hühüküju, (ill write another post about language and pronunciation later, huhu is good) is the older, being middle aged in her 40s-50s, and kind of takes our main character under her wing when she needs it most, during the slow-building chaos of the main conflict, which is during the species-wide realization of planetary danger. regardless, shes strong-willed, intuitive, and a natural mentor, though somewhat chaotic and unpredictable at times. she can be hard to read but she has a protective and kind heart. shes an artist and her craft, which is pottery, is incredibly intricate and something she spends countless hours per piece on. (pottery is interesting in the skirl world but thats ALSO for another post)
I know we collectively agree that Hiccup isn’t romantically inclined, and his getting married and having kids didn’t make sense in the epilogue, but consider: Hiccup getting married for political reasons.
It’s a marriage of alliance, which is recognized both by him and his partner, and they enter it without expectations of romantic involvement. Since they’re now married, they live in the same castle, spend time together, and Hiccup finds he really likes his spouse. They’re funny, get along with his friends, and has the same interests and values. They both probably speak multiple languages. She understands why Hiccup is so dedicated to making the Wilderwest better, and holds similar views. She’s a good politician (her job after all, was to be an ambassador). Hiccup likes spending time with them, and the feeling is mutual. They’re not in love, they have their own lives, but they’re dedicated to each other and eventually decide to raise children. They teach their kids how to train hawks and hunt with dragons, riding, history, the Languages, and all the necessary skills of their world. They’re not in love and they’re happy together.
Sharing a body was strange. Ten limbs split between the nine of them- thirteen if one counted the tails and seventeen if one counted the fact that their cloak… skirt… whatever could mimic the wings of their other form.
One which they would change back to after a few moments- there was much less stumbling when it was all fours. Not to mention that if not for the tails they’d have easily toppled over with how many arms they had making them slightly top heavy. Okay more than slightly, it was taking a bit to adjust.
Honestly the fields of wheat and other crops did nothing to hide them with how tall even this body was, but it was still better than nothing, and they were using the fact it was the middle of nowhere to their shared advantage.
At least the humanoid- not human, even now their shared power thrummed through the air, leaking from them- form was smaller than their true draconic one. Well, perhaps they shouldn’t call it their true form, when they were once all human, halfa and liminal alike, but they’d long since stopped being such. So perhaps it was in fact true to call the form they had become as their normal state now.
Actually, could they even separate now? Or had their power melded together so much that it was impossible now, and an attempt would end them? It would at the very least crack their core-
“What the fuck.”
Their head lurched, a little too far if the jolt of pain was anything before it melted away. They were all too used to moving their own necks separately. But all of them agreed that discovery could not happen-
Oh.
It was a child. A preteen with red-orange hair, blue-green eyes, expensive clothing, and most damming of all, large swaths of bruising across his arms. Bruising that did not come from usual play, and looked far too much like hand prints for any of their comfort.
Someone had very much not been taking care of this child. And that really made them quite angry.
