Flight rising TMA Fandragons pt 1 of 3
This will contain spoilers

So i’ve been working on transforming the tma cast into silly little dragons ^^ jon was my first i planned out in july of last year. Its been a Very fun and Deeply expensive little collection which is still ongoing. The colors for these are in the alt text ^^
Jons skin was made by yours truly and was single handedly one of my most expensive items to buy, it features all his mentioned scars (or most anyways-) his burnt hand, teethmarks from daisy over his neck, and although they cant be seen with his outfit stab marks from michael. I thought a green theme fit him well given the podcasts coverart. I figured with the amount of stress this dude goes through a spiral was a perfect fit.
Martin was rather difficult to find the correct colors for at the time. I wanted him to carry pieces of his past with him (a locket from his mother, a coat from his internship with peter lukas and his tea set) i wanted him to be a Protector so i thought an obby was a good choice
Tim was Beyond fun and So So difficult, i wanted to play around with the idea of him becoming an avatar of the desolation after his demise and made him out of Wax and fire. Unfortunately they Still don’t have Hawaiian style shirts in FR so i had to compromise. I gave him some carnival wear to show its still Part of him
Sasha was a little difficult to get perfect- i wanted to show that she was plain enough to Melt into the background. She’s wrapped in more of the carousel set to show she Cant get off the merry go round because she Doesn’t have a face. I took Heavy inspo of her design from @reidspng sasha design cause i think they captured her Perfectly
Melanie King I was playing around with the thought of Ghost bullets and Bones, i scried her colors on accident after some trial and error and just Loved it, her outfit just fell in place after i got the skry ^^
Gerry was one of the first i completed fully- i saw the kelpie hair and just Knew it would be a perfect box dye, i wanted to give him this sorta ghostly aura- like you’d just summoned him in a seance and he just looks beyond annoyed
Gertrude was a little difficult to find the proper scry for- it felt like Nothing i was doing was turning out right- i started with her outfit first and worked backwards eventually landing on this- i’m rather happy with her overall- her as a coatl just worked out so well for a little arson grannie
Adelard dekker, One of my all time favorite statements mag157 has always stayed with me and i just Knew i had to make this fella. Poison and concrete were my inspirations, i wanted to imagine him as an avatar of the extinction having risen from his tomb to study and try to reverse the end of humanity.
Basira Husain- it is- hilariously difficult to make a modest muslim outfit in a game that doesn’t allow religious imagery- i eventually landed on this which was the Best i could manage. Her skry came after, i wanted to show off her intelligence and mild affiliation with the eye as Glasses (very cliche i know)
Last for this group is Daisy tonner- she’s my eldest of my fandragons at 7 years old (very expensive little purchase ;-;) i liked the idea of having mud and soil as a theme to reference when she was in the buried. She was originally planned as an imperial but i thought a wildclaw would suit her better.

"Seer Bonnets" (2008-present - Angela Ellsworth) / "Clytemnestra after the Murder" (1882 - John Collier)
SEER BONNETS: Well, my propaganda for Seer Bonnets. I'm not Mormon but grew up surrounded by them. More to the point, where this work fucked me up is the sense that, to be closer to nature is to be closer to the veil. To work the land is to be in tune with its patterns, and the still quiet voice that points the way. My grandpa was a water witch, and it is that kind of practical folk magic that speaks to me here. She looks left, right, center to skry the future - more than likely, to skry whether the rains will come, and when, and skry whether the calving will be troubled this year. But also to skry the other tidings of Heaven, like whether the cholera will strike or diphtheria will carry off any more of her children. @welcome-to-the-night-gallery
CLYTEMNESTRA AFTER THE MURDER: I adore this painting so much. Everytime I see it in person I just stare at it for a solid 10 plus minutes. The amount of detail is incredible and the power the artist gives to Clytemnestra is so important. In this moment she is a woman who has successfully got her vengeance on the man who killed her daughter and had the gall to bring a mistress back like nothing was wrong. She had been lied to and had her power taken away from her again and again and in this moment she gets it back
She is not scantily clad and she is not there to be beautiful or attractive, she is there and she is powerful. This is a painting that empowers women and those who have been oppressed. It is a painting for people who might not be as well versed in art and I adore it for all these reasons. It is a beautiful piece of art and a statement and a reminder and I love it so so much @castielsfrillywhiteknickers
("Seer Bonnets" is an ongoing series of pieces by Angela Ellsworth representing the 35 wives of Joseph Smith as tools for them to see visions. One bonnet is listed as being 30 × 13 × 14 in (76.2 × 33 × 35.6 cm) and being comprised of 17,424 pearl corsage pins, fabric, and steel.
"Clytemnestra after the Murder" is an oil on canvas painting by British artist John Collier. It measures 239 × 174 cm (94 × 69 in) and is held by the Guildhall Art Gallery.)

Tumblr/The Internet in general is a predictor of culture to a level that it feels like looking into a skrying pool. Everyone who's like "this is online stuff irrelevant to the world at large" is wrong. It is a crystal ball into the future, which is why to a certain extent we should take it seriously in that context. What is done here follows into the real world.

Plot points for @magical-mistakes-vm
Vollrath - Mahala
Writing left off with Mahala needing to use the bathroom at the mansion and finding someone/thing opened the curtains in the hall. She freaks out, calls for Balor. No one knows who opened them. Everyone can feel the presence in the hallway with them, but no one knows what it means. Balor tells Vol to take Mahala to his place and they'll finish up. Then they'll all meet up at Vollrath’s the next day.
While Mahala is packing, Vollrath admits that he thinks Balor is the one that the prophecy was for. He feels like he's fucking everything up. His emotions are confused and he's used to being in control, and he's very much not.
And…we meet our first ghost, Mahala’s grandmother. When Mahala and Vollrath aren't making progress on communicating, grandma literally turns the lights off on them and helps Vollrath figure out how to find his footing and also reassure Mahala. Sometimes you have to feel, not think.
Once reconnecting and centering is done, Vol takes Mahala to his mansion via scrying. He then contemplates proposing to both settle himself and her. To make things concrete, as they both know are sure of the prophecy. He takes a ring out of a drawer.
Mahala takes a nice hot bath, that Vollrath has to help her out of. They stay up for a little bit talking over a glass of wine. Then when she falls asleep in his arms on the bed as they’re talking a bit more, he takes a quick shower. Then he joins her back in the bed, still turning that ring over in his hand…and reveals a few of his feelings to what he thinks is a sleeping Mahala. She’s not quite awake, not quite asleep…but there is something revealed….
Back at the Codona mansion more family records are found upstairs. There are definitely going to have to be some conversations with M &V the next day. All 3 warlocks call it a night and skry home.
This is where we meet some new peeps.
Balor has a fiance’ but no one knows about her and won’t till everyone shows up at his estate. He’s going to keep her under wraps to try to teach his brother to get his jealousy in check. Ermengarde is a short & feisty woman, who also keeps Balor on his toes. She has him absolutely wrapped around her little finger though, and the inverse could also be said to be true. They have been trying to plan a wedding, but she has known that the prophecy was coming and told him that until he made up with Vol, they couldn’t do it. Needless to say, while neither are thrilled about what this all means in the short term, they are stoked that they are finally going to be able to get married.
There is an adorable scene when he gets home and is filling her in on everything, Just fluff…and planning…during fluffyness
Baldur goes back to his home where his fiancé Emine is. Emine is part of the Coven security force. She already knows what’s been going down and is relieved to see him back and unharmed. Again…fluffyness with backstory filled in during updates and planning….
Elmar goes home to Savina, a newer witch in the Coven who is an attorney for both the Coven and Vollrath’s firm. She’s friends with Emine, so she too knows what has been going on and is glad to see Elmar is unscathed. Fluffyness, planing, backstory…etc…etc…etc. LMAO
There will be glimpses of the women’s lives interspersed as it helps the bigger story too. Like Savina pulling up property records, handling the estate for Mahala, etc…. Emine is security, so if Vollrath HAS to be in a meeting w/o Mahala, the girls can have coffee or something. Ermengarde isn’t part of that side of the coven, so until they get to Balor’s, she mostly just interacts w/Balor, but some of that will be seen.
The next day when they all get back together at Vollrath’s. He has sigils on his mirrors that only allow certain people to scry in. Because Balor doesn’t have the special tattoo that will let him scry in, he scry’s to Baldur’s house and then Baldur scry’s to Vollrath’s. Once they are all together, what was discovered the night before is shared.
They decide that from now on, they will only go to the Codona mansion during the day, that way they can keep a better eye on who/what is outside the mansion. Mahala asks why she was able to stay in the mansion for over a week before the night she met Vollrath and nothing odd happened there, but then there were the incidents the night before. The men take turns explaining that her gifts would have been repressed because she’d never been trained or used them. But, by coming in contact with Vollrath, then them getting activated by defending herself against Jonathan, it could have caused the mansion to “wake up”. Until they have looked around the Codona mansion further, they can’t say for sure, but they all agree that they don’t think that it is safe for her to be alone there any longer.
After a few more discussions, they head back over to the Codona mansion. They split up inside and start going through the upstairs rooms. Some interesting things are found that start shedding light on her mother’s past, as well as more of her family’s. There are tie-ins with the Coven, Vollrath/Balor’s, Bazyli, and Lenz’s families. Things are often dark and no one likes most of what is found. The longer they are there, the more uncomfortable that Mahala becomes, often feeling like she’s hearing her name or being watched. Things will become increasingly odd.
The mansion is most def haunted. More than one spirit resides there and they don’t get along. Her grandfather, grandmother, and one other spirit they’re having a hard time pinning down. Grandma and grandpa hate each other. Grandma would like them to cast out grandpa, she says he’s evil and wants to harm Mahala. That whatever it is that is on the land outside is because of him. That he killed her when she tried to protect Mahala’s mother from grandpa’s evil plans with Bazyli. She’ll dump a lot of info when Vollrath figures out she can talk to them during the day.
As things become stranger regarding the mansion and the things found, Mahala and Vollrath will become closer. She’ll begin to trust him more, and he’ll begin to relax more regarding his jealousy. His temper, well…that he’ll have to continue to work on. That ring keeps burning a hole in his pocket too.
During this time Jonathan will be broken out of the confinement of the Coven. Some will believe it is an inside job. Emine will be part of the investigation and keep all of the others up to speed on what is being found out. She recommends that Mahala never be left alone, no one argues with that. Surprise? There is an infiltrator from the other Coven who has freed Jonathan and sent him with word to Bazyli that Mahala is back.
So, now Bazyli and Lenz are looking for Mahala. But, they are not the only ones. A jealous person in the Coven has alerted hunters about Mahala too. Whether they're wanting her or Vollrath isn't immediately clear, but will be.
Since everyone is watching for Bazyli and Lenz, the hunters are able to move around pretty freely. Finally while out shopping, Mahala is kidnapped and Emine shot. Both Covens about go insane when the news gets out.
Vollrath and his Coven are the ones that get to her first, and it is a trap. They were meant to. Because the Nachtnebel family has held the position of Master Warlock for generations, there is jealousy within the Coven. Mahala was just the bait to take out Vollrath and Balor. Then a warlock I haven't picked yet had planned a coup in the Coven.
What wasn't counted on was Baldur, Elmar, Emine, Savina, and Ermengarde all taking part in the rescue. Cue bloodbath via guns and magic. Big booms.
Bazyli and Lenz show up at the very end and while there are threats yelled at each other, the two warlocks aren't stupid enough to take all the others on. Now everyone knows though that they need to find all the information on the prophecy and what Mahala’s grandfather's magical eugenics project were all about.

"In summary therefore, the main conclusions of this thesis are:
i) There is a considerable amount of commonality between the methods and equipment of magic in the PGM, Hygromanteia and Clavicula Salomonis.
ii) There is a clear line of transmission from the Hygromanteia to the Clavicula Salomonis which is identifiable down to the very detailed level of Solomonic method and specific pieces of equipment. Therefore there can be no doubt that the Hygromanteia is the forefather of the Clavicula Salomonis.
iii) There are two main exceptions to the above point:
a) The skrying chapters in the Hygromanteia, have not been passed on to the Clavicula Salomonis. These skrying methods are however found almost word-forword in an 11th century Jewish source. Accordingly, either Jewish sources supplied these chapters to the Hygromanteia, or were derived from it.
b) The pentacles chapters in the Clavicula Salomonis do not derive from the Hygromanteia, but probably come from the manuscript Sepher ha-Otot, or from a related source.
iv) There is no clear line of transmission between the PGM and the Hygromanteia, but the high degree of commonality makes it certain that the PGM was a major contributor to the contents of the Hygromanteia. The Testament of Solomon was also shown to be an important contributor to the Hygromanteia.
v) A number of magical techniques were identified, such as precise timing of rites by day, hour and Moon phase, strict purification, fasting, use of specific incenses, use of shared nomina magica, and techniques such as threatening spirits with the names of their superiors, or the impersonation of a god to ensure compliance from the spirit.
vi) Equipment used for protection of the magician including the protective floor circle and the phylactery/ourania/lamen, are common to all three texts.
vii) There is a definite sequence to the procedures of ‘Solomonic magic’, foreshadowed in the PGM, but precisely defined in the Hygromanteia and the Clavicula Salomonis, and identified as the ‘Solomonic method.’
viii) The pentacle section of the Clavicula Salomonis was derived from the Sepher ha-Otot, or a cognate Hebrew source. A crude cut-down version of these pentacles was used in the Hygromanteia to construct the ourania/lamen, and the pentacles found in versions of the Clavicula Salomonis are less detailed, and with less complete Hebrew. Therefore either the Sepher ha-Otot is contributory to both the Hygromanteia and the Clavicula Salomonis, or a common ancestor informed all three texts.
ix) The meaning of -µαντεια as used in chapters 47-58 of the Hygromanteia embraces evocation and skrying as well as just divination.
x) Although Hebraic god names like Adonai, Iaō and Sabaoth are frequently found in the PGM, the Hygromanteia and Clavicula Salomonis, they were divorced from the methods of Jewish magic.
xi) The Sepher Maphteah Shelomoh manuscript of 1700, instead of being evidence of the Jewish roots of Solomonic magic, was in fact a translation of a Latin/Italian manuscript of the Clavicula Salomonis, and therefore not its source.
xii) A full set of correspondences of stones, herbs and beasts, has become split off from the Hygromanteia, prior to 1440, leaving just a few zodiacal and planetary herbal correspondences. These correspondences reappear in other grimoires, such as the Sepher Raziel, or in separate lapidaria, herbaria or bestiaries, but are not carried forward into the Clavicula Salomonis.
xiii) The so-called Mithrasliturgie, is neither a Mithraic text nor the liturgy of any religion, nor is it a magical text, but a procedure for a solitary Mystery rite, designed to confer immortality upon just one initiate.
xiv) A new translation for the Ephesia Grammata has been proposed, as an example of how knowledge of the techniques can sometimes help to decipher the meaning of nomina magica.
Speculative Conclusions about the origins of the Hygromanteia:
xv) The date of composition of the Hygromanteia was probably late 6th/early 7th century, with a major redaction occurring in the early 13th century.
xvi) The place of composition of the Hygromanteia was probably Alexandria, with the text being subsequently taken to Constantinople. The author was Greek educated and not a Christian.
xvii) The Hygromanteia may have been written or compiled by Stephanos of Alexandria (and Athens) in the late 6th century, and brought by him to Constantinople.
xviii) The title Hygromanteia was originally only applied to the last chapters 47-59.
ix) The most likely title of the Hygromanteia is The Magical Treatise of Gathering and Directing the Spirits, or the Magical Treatise, although it was probably originally called the Ἀποτελεσµατικὴ πραγµατεία."

oh! for the oc character ask: 🎯❤️🍀
Hwheheee imma do this for Ergrin
🎯: She's a pillager and robber by trade, but she's also gotten pretty good at monster hunting, considering she fell a good few kraken and minor gods at this point.
❤️: the time she was pulled under Skry's wing (literally) and just allowed to cry. It'd been the only time she could show vulnerable emotions. They were there for nearly 3 hours.
🍀: there are 2 answers. Her first incarnation was in Dark Souls Remastered, where she had no unique character, just the Tracer weapons and a target shield. However when I played Salt & Sanctuary, her bitter venomous and scared personality began to bloom. That is when Ergrin was truly her own character.

Liber Resh PGM-esque
At Dawn, facing east:
IO, TABAŌ, SOKHOM-MOA, OKH-OKH-KHAN-BOUZANAU, AN- IESI, EGOMPHTHŌ, GETHO, SETHOURI, THMILA, ALOUAPOKHRI, let everything that I shall apply my hand to today, be accomplished. (3-7 times)
Hail unto Thee who art Khepri in Thy rising, even unto Thee who art Khepri in Thy strength, who travellest over the Heavens in Thy bark at the Uprising of the Sun. Heka and Sia standeth in Their splendour at the prow, Hua abideth at the helm. Hail unto Thee from the Abodes of Night!
At Noon, facing south:
Hail unto Thee who art Ra-Horakhty in Thy Brilliance, even unto Thee who art Ra-Horakhty, The King of Heaven, who travellest over the Heavens in Thy bark at the Mid-course of the Sun. Heka and Sia standeth in Their splendour at the prow, Hua abideth at the helm. Hail unto Thee from the Abodes of Morning!
At Dusk, facing west:
Hail unto Thee who art Ra-Atum in Thy Setting, even unto Thee who art Ra-Atum, The King of Gods, who travellest over the Heavens in Thy bark at the Down-going of the Sun. Heka and Sia standeth in Their splendour at the prow, Hua abideth at the helm. Hail unto Thee from the Abodes of Day!
At Midnight, facing north:
Hail unto Thee who art Ra-Osiris in Thy Silence, even unto Thee who art Ra-Osiris, The Justice of the World, who travellest In the Netherworld in Thy bark at the Midnight hour of the Sun. Heka and Sia standeth in Their splendour at the prow, Hua abideth at the helm. Hail unto Thee from the Evening of Day!
Reasoning:
The first barbarous set of names is taken from a Lamp Skrying method in the Demotic Papyri(PDM XIV, 475-480). The translations says "You should rise at dawn from your bed, early in the day on which you will do it, or any day, in order that everything which you will do be exactly your agency, you being pure from all evil. You should recite this spell three times or seven times."
I think the reason Crowley put Khepri at midnight because Khepri enters Ra's body during his underworld travel, but Khepri is also the one waking him up in the morning...so which is it? I think Khepri at midnight is the symbol of the sun's rejuvenating it's energy at night while in the morning it is the vigorous strong living energy pushing forth the sun on it's travel.
Hathor is Definitely not at Noon, I understand Crowely's reasoning is that he's trying to make this 45 angled standing point on path 30(Path of Resh) but then the reason he would associate Hathor with Noon is because it is almost at the Zenith of Resh. I see Ra-Horus god-form as a better substitute. Here Ra is Horus of the two horizons, he's in the middle point between them, shinning as "The King".
Am not gonna say that Crowley's was wrong because he choose Tum instead of Atum lol.
Lastly in the Osirisian Myth, Osiris is there with Ra in his solar(nether?) Barque when they go through the netherworld. Definitely there is connection between the King of the underworld and the God of the Sun.

Flight rising tma fandragons pt 2 of 3

These are taking hilariously long to type pardon the wait-
Manuela Dominguez, i wanted to referencethe stars and the ever looming tendrals of the dark, snuffing out every inkling of light there is. I thought a bogsneak would properly show the quiet sort of certainty she had over her plan.
Peter lukas, so so much fun to make- i wanted to give the impression of fog surrounding him and myrid works Excellently for it. His primary gene is ground to reference the lukas family funerals. I thought a guardian was appropriate for a sea beast
Elias Bouchard- the amount of work that went into this utter bastard- the accent he’s wearing i had to commission the artist to rerelease them as it had been made Years Ago. Finding a imp with his colors also took Atleast half a year.
Agnes montegue, when they added paisly i just Knew i had to make her- i wanted to give her long flowing hair and look as though Brimming with Fire. I thought a veil spun was appropriate for her to give her a sort of regalness i imagine her with (only to be thrown off by her need to have coffee with enough room for milk, she’s a goofy goober i know it)
Jane prentiss, man whatta woman, just filled to the brim with worms. I wanted to give her long hair she could hide in and a torn red dress to reference her first appearance. I figured out hypnotic looks Very similar to works on the right dragons.
Jared hopworth, i wanted him to appear Bulky and strong like he could deadlift every single person ever. I wanted to reference his hoodie he wore in his bodybuilder gym as well as his garden he appears in near the end, roses and all.
Helen was a ton of fun to skry, she started out as an aberration concept with Michael which i eventually ditched for separate characters. I thought lionfish looked a lot like doors one would see in a spiraling corridor. A spiral for her breed was just obvious-
Michael- they were a bit of a struggle to find with the correct eyes but i loved what happened with them anyways. I thought they reminded me of bubble yum bananaberry split.
Simon fairchild, i skied this about the day after undertides were created- i wanted to give them allusions to the sky and the deep sea, like he’s Made out of it.
Mike crew- so so much fiddling to get these colors perfect- he was one of the first ones i’d created and it took a lot of trial and error, his minimal outfit was to better show off his genes which i think show off his affiliations better. He was heavily inspired by @mariflexion mike design which i just adore
