K-202 GROUNDY MOD MAJOR UPDATE 2023
Hello everyone :)
As the last expansion is out for around a week now, we have updated from the ground the k-202 Groundy Mod ...
Maxis made some real changes inside its painting terrains since 2022 and an update was a long time due ! That's why we called it a Major Update :)
missing base ones have been added AND updated
the Get Famous terrains have been removed by Maxis so we did
the Cottage Living ones are completed
the only one terrain paint from Wedding World has been added
the Chestnut Ridge ones have been added
Most of them are Maxis match but a few are really different :) Everything has been updated until for Rent Expansion but Tomarang has no terrain paint ...
The ones which have terrain paints are : Willow Creek and Oasis Spring ( base game ) - Granite Falls - Windenburg - Evergreen Harbour - Sulani - Chestnut Ridge - Tartosa - Henford-on-Bagley
For those who do not know what is the k-202 Groundy Mod, they are terrain paints, the ones used by Maxis for the terrains you may modify AND all your inside lot terrains :) They are different from the k-505 terrains ( which cover the worlds ) ... And speaking about the k-505 : WE MADE A SILENT UPDATE OF THE K-505 BASEGAME ONLY IN ORDER TO REMOVE THE DUPLICATES AND TO BE FULL OK WITH THIS K-202 UPDATE !
ALL THE K-202 FILES OVERRIDE THE GAME FILES AND WORK VERY FINE IN-GAME …
These updates are our last updates before the new year. But rendez-vous before Xmas for a k-hippie talk & news related to the Sims 4 :)
For everything related to our Sims 3 Worlds, we know we are a bit late but do not worry : THERE WILL BE UPDATES for Lost Cove, Oaksoak Hollow and Eureka Valley :) and a new World incoming :

Hidden Springs in Sims 3 has a HUGE but UNDEREXPLOITED potential for being a mysterious and supernatural world!
I always loved Moonlight falls, but it lacks variations in the different areas. I loooove the idea and the architecture of Midnight Hollows but it’s so dark! Like the supernatural is not even hidding there, it’s plain in your face with no space for mystery.
So for the past months, I worked on building my own personal verion of Hidden Springs, reworking the beautiful Midnight Hollow architecture, with a touch of Moonlight Falls spirit.
It’s still WIP, but I’ve worked so hard on this, and I’m super proud of where it went up to this point. So I share it with you guys!
I got super inspired by the Oaksoak Hollow rework of Hidden Springs for this, even though I never played it (don’t like to download cc). It’s when I saw Oaksoak Hollow that I realized that I could totally also rework it myself ! Thank you @k-hippie for being so inspirational with your amazing work !!!

CHAMPIGNAC : A NEW SIMS 3 WORLD
Champignac is a fully living Frenchy suburbia World based on Champs-les-Sims and has nothing to do with a vacation place ... Well, nothing is not really the right word ;)
Back in 2016/2017, when we began to think how we could remade Champs-les-Sims, we didn't know really what kind of world we wanted to do. We named the project : Sims de Nimes. Then, because we were on other projects ( such as sims 4 k-mods ) we left Sims de Nimes somewhere in the pipes.
We made Oaksoak Hollow ( based on Mystic Falls ), we made Eureka Valley ( a world between tech and classic life ) and we left behind the Sims 4 because, well ... too long to explain. :D
So, it was time to get out of the box our old project of Sims de Nimes ... During this time, some talented creators re-made Champs-les-Sims with their own vision, more oldy or more city life like, or more like Sunset Valley ... All those versions are interesting, but we wanted something else. And so, is born Champignac !
If Champignac is a true living suburbia world, it is too a quite rural world, almost a village with :
37 Community Lots
36 Residential Lots
10 Medieval Towers all around the town :)

In addition, it remains few Empty Lots, differently sized to suit whatever you wish ... So, let's say Champignac is a french-not-so-little-town where life is slowly flowing and dynamic at the same time, perfect for families and Sims looking for a different lifestyle :)
A typical downtown and outskirts, full of old buildings and southern architecture, a joyful mix between south-east and south-west housing, with a touch of something more northener ( but don't tell the citizens; it's a sure way to be frowned upon ) ... After all they worked hard to keep Champignac as it is!
People living in Champignac are quite glad of it. Sure, teenagers dream of foreign lands, but they are not too eager to leave.
Once, the townies of Champignac were grumpy because Champs-les-Sims was so more popular than their hometown ... After all, everybody went to Champs-les-Sims, stayed there, made nectar, drove a Kenspa, flirted with locals, or … anyway!
Tourists had a full experience in Champs-Les-Sims and weren't interested in visiting any other city. Champignac, the official twin city, didn't benefit from any international exchanges, and was left anonymous, far from fame and glory. As unreachable as the Eiffel Tower seen from Champignac ... until ...
In February 29th of a certain year, a distant descendant of Marquis de Landgraab lost his way on the road to Champs-les-Sims and landed in Champignac. Instantly, he fell in love with the town.
He saw an always growing vegetation, a Monastery full of secrets, the familial beach ( yes, there is a beach in Champignac ), the forgotten obelisk, the shop keepers full of stories, the well preserved houses, the green fields and the paved streets, the true Café Catane and a remaining wild fauna running here and there ... He saw perfection !
For a time, the townies of Champignac experienced fame and glory. But how exhausting it was! Tourists not really caring about the legacy of the kiosk owner, the monks overwhelmed, the museum director who couldn't find enough teenagers to help ... Even the fishes were exhausted! Hard times indeed ... Happily, this descendant of Marquis de Landgraab met someone, somewhere, and moved out, far far away from Champignac. Celebrities said their last goodbyes and slowly, life, as it should be, was back :) The townies and City Council learned from that experience that they very much preferred not to be as famous as Champs-les-Sims ...
Life in Champignac was relatively calm again when suddenly, a global health crisis emerged and the Simvid-18 pandemic hit many many people ... Anxiety swept through the villages and the small towns, including Champignac of course ... With an aging population, residents became increasingly concerned about the well-being of their neighbors and the future of the city.
Shop owners and farmers who were already considering retirement were now faced with the daunting task of deciding whether to continue their businesses in such uncertain times. The entire world seemed to come to a halt, leaving everyone in Champignac wondering who would carry the torch and ensure the future.
Surprisingly, the youngsters that only came sporadically for holidays, moved back to Champignac. Fearful of living in a crowded city and eager to gather with family members, they came to the old town with friends. After all, there were spare bedrooms in most houses!
When the restrictions were lifted, many were reluctant to leave. Going back to a stressful life and fast-paced city wasn't enticing anymore. Most decided to turn their lives around. They took up the florist shop or asked for a job transfer ... So, life emerged again :) Champignac is now a thriving town where you have everything you wish for and nothing more.
Champignac is blessed with old churches turned into bars or wineries, old palazzi that are inspiring, and small boutiques as gathering places ...
Winters and autumns are short, while spring and summer are long. Come and live among thousands of old buildings, walk on streets Roman soldiers once trod upon, see treasures from foreign campaigns, and benefit from the perfect blend of country living and town living.
Remember ... With its unique blend of history, culture, and natural beauty, Champignac offers the Sims a captivating and enriching experience. From the stunning architecture to the delectable cuisine, every aspect of this town reflects the South of France’s intoxicating charm.

A NEW SIMS 3 WORLD : SIMS DE NIMES ( soon )
Hello :)
Some news updates ... We are currently working on 3 different Sims 3 worlds
- an update of Oaksoak Hollow ( code name : oaksoak2023 )
- a misty northern world : Shetland Harbour ( no code name :D )
- Sims de Nimes ( code name : champignac ), the first which will be released in few weeks ...
It is entirely based on Champs les Sims from World Adventures but it will be FULLY playable, with all community lots needed and nothing related to World Adventures ...
We currently rework each lot to be a true living French world and we are adding both community lots and houses in the architectural style and spirit of the city based in South of France :)
So, we redo EVERYTHING of course, such as terrains and roads and today we post some sneaky pics ;)

CHAMPIGNAC CC ADDENDUM FILES PART 2
Yesterday, we talked about CC, mainly ATS, Votenga Medieval stuff and some lots creations : all those fantastic things which give relief and vibrance to a Sims 3 World :)
Today, let's talk about ANTS ... Absolute Necessary Things and Stuff to fully enjoy Champignac, beginning with Cyclone Sue Build Stuff ...
They are not numerous but ESSENTIAL to all our Worlds : Lost Cove - Oaksoak Hollow - Eureka Valley and now, Champignac ;)
Set Scaffolding, Truss and Steel Girders (Columns)
Set Porta-Potty portable toilets
Set Barbed and Chickenwire Fences
Set Alpine Roofline 45-degree Windows
Set Useful Walls

In addition, don't forget the beautiful himalayan poppy field by @nilxis ( by Let's Lolalule Things )
And that's all for our ANTS build stuff :D
As You can see in the first picture above, no more problem with the alpha of the trees in the distant terrain \o/
We used a small override file : Smaller Eiffel Tower by Qahne @ MTS which creates 2 advantages, a smaller Eiffel Tower and the fix for the broken alpha settings of trees in distant terrain.
We discovered too on a NRAAS thread another cool modding file : ScooterOverride by Consort which brings teens to drive only scooters ... I mean the mythic Kenspa !
When a vacation world such as Champs les Sims becomes a fully suburbia world, it loses the Kenspa as main vehicle of the town. So we tried to minimize as much as possible this side effect and we added different Kenspa in our files. Of course, you may keep or not this choice ;) Up to you !
Now, there are other essential files we used ... such as : the Romanesque Connecting Column Arches Set by TheJim07 @ MTS we used in different locations of Champignac and bring A LOT to get really cool ambiant places.
Related to the Store stuff, we do not use much and anyway, you don't have to worry about, we'll provide a folder with the necessary files. Clean and updated. Except for the Al Fresco Market.
By the way, we'll update very soon every CC folder we provide on our website for each of our S3 Worlds : all cleaned and updated too.
To finish with this post, let us show you one of the biggest community lot of Champignac : Le Monastère which is too the Winery of the town ( of course there is a Winery ) ;)
This is a Sims Republic 2015 creation we modified a bit inside to suit Champignac ...
That's all folks ... for the moment. We are aware this kind of post is not as popular as the ones with a download link ... But that's wrong. Creating a world with a unique ambiance is only possible because of all these creations and creators. Maybe as Sims 3 players you already knows this stuff and so, not so interested to see it, again ... but wait and see, we tried very much to organize all those files with love and harmony ...

ROAD MAP FOR TECH-HIPPIE WEBSITE
We are going to put tech-hippie down for a few days, starting now ... So, don't send message about broken links, here is a road map just for you :)
We are currently working on new websites ...
The tech-hippie website will be the first to be online again ... a brand new one ;)
The Sims 3 worlds and stuff will be online ( including our brand new World : Champignac ) in 2 or 3 days
Then, the K Mods which will have their own section, appart in a way
At last, all other Sims 4 stuff and things will be back in the coming days/weeks
Once all web updates will be done, we'll begin our Sims 3 Worlds updates ...
Almost 3 years since the last updates of Lost Cove and Oaksoak Hollow. Time has come to level-up them a bit :D
We have to re-check the cc included and be sure everything is in the right place. So, our website must be cleaned up and easier to check in order to continue with all the good things coming : "Life by You" "Paralives" and the Sims 5 of course ... Whenever they are released ...
Next year, it will be 10 years tech-hippie is online ... Quite an anniversary ! So, time to us for a website make-up :D
A word related to the numerous messages we receive related to the K mods ... We stopped buying Sims 4 expansions since Cottage Living ... We even tried to figure how 2 repair the graphic glitches of the Wedding World terrains ... But we don't play anymore with the Sims 4 ... It is not definitive but for now, we play other games and we continue to push our love for the Sims 3 ;)
IF we come back to the Sims 4, it will be for creating walls ans floors only because I miss so much Sims4Studio ;)

SPRING NEWS ...
Hello fellows and all simmers around :) Some news today, and not bad ones since they are for both Sims 3 and Sims 4 ! :D
At first, we just modify the look of our simblr ... Not sure to keep it long because we have something else in mind but it’s quite ok for now ;) And we added some xtra links.
So, let’s start with the Sims 3 ...
As you already know, even I played for a long time this game, I consider myself still a baby learning in everything related to custom content and world building. So, THANKS A LOT to the almost 1000 “likes” we received for Oaksoak Hollow !!! That’s amazing indeed ! And the update of Oaksoak Hollow aka Oaksoak Hollow 2022 is on its way, very soon from now with a brand new populated save game ... :)
Related to Sims 3 custom content, I have XTRA good news since at last ... we created real true super custom content ( build only ) and we are going to release very soon 30 terrain paints and 50 real patterns which are for most of them conversions of our Sims 4 build and stuff k-mods ... Not the whole stuff ... yet ;) we are not so productive isn’t it ?
This will be directly related to our worlds build stuff and we’ll re-organize this part of our creations to be much more convenient and reliable in time for everyone ! So ... stay tuned because it will come quickly :D
Then, let’s talk about the Sims 4 ...
As you know, there won’t be anymore any expansion pack for the Sims 4 ... And sorry to bother you but that’s great news to me !!! of course, there still will be some game packs to come and some kits ... but we can begin to think about the future of the Sims franchise and let our voice be heard, even EA doesn’t really matter about it.
The only thing which I’m going to miss is the great Sims4Sudio tool which has been a great companion for every creator around for 7 years now. I learned so many things related to 3D and Sims stuff with Sims4Studio !
For answering to the same question many of you send me ... No, I still do not have the wedding stuff pack, so, I can’t process the whole files in order to update the k-505 mod ... If someone want to send me the files, I’ll do it. But I’m not interested at all to buy the wedding stuff for myself. Nor the cleaning kit or the laundry kit ... :D
“But k-hippie ... are you going to let down the whole sims 4 ?????”
Not at all ! This weekend, we are going to release The Classika Paintings volume 6 :) Few people asked for this with so much kindness that I couldn’t resist :D So, last week, as I digged deep into my archives, I re-organized a bit all the Sims 4 stuff I did and then I realized I made the first painting and artworks back in 2015 ! Pikachu shock ... So, going to update too things and stuff among our creations.
Time to little reblogs and updates indeed !

OAKSOAK HOLLOW 2020
Oaksoak Hollow update is available :)
As previously said, we reworked the world to be more playable ... It is quite a large world, unpopulated with 60 pre-installed lots ( 34 Community lots and 26 Residential lots ) The complete listing and the credits for some lots we used is on our website. Most of the community lots are homemade by the k-hippie team ;)
We tested and played 3 weeks long on 2 different computers ( one Mac and one PC ) in this world and didn’t get any problem at all. So, we suppose everything will run fine for you ;)
Maybe you already know : Oaksoak Hollow is based on Hidden Springs where we changed almost everything : the terrains, the lots, the look and feel, the ambiance, the population, etc ... until we get what we wanted : a kind of Mystic Falls ( from the TV show ) for the Sims. So ......... Many supernatural are floating around in this 2020 update :)
To avoid any confusion with the previous version of Oaksoak Hollow, we renamed ALL the lots which begin now with the name : mystic
To get the whole stuff working fine, here a short todo list :
- Uninstall the previous version of Oaksoak Hollow
- We use some rabbit holes : some are ours ( link here ) the others are Jynx doors rabbit holes. They must be installed BEFORE installing the world itself. They are .package and must be installed inside your Mod folder.
- To avoid a well known and common problem in the Sims 3, you should install the Festival Lot once the world is installed and played.
- To be sure to avoid any bug, we removed the Oaksoak Hollow University from the pre-installed lots. You shouldn’t have any problem if you install it in your game after everything else.
That’s all. EVERYTHING else is running smooth :)

Is there some custom content ? Yes. A bit.
As already said in the 2 previous posts, we had to make choices to render the world smoother to play : Even we loved the previous City Hall, we replace it with a Maxis one. Idem with the Police Station, the Military Base and the Hospital. But do not worry, you’ll find everything is fitting really well ;)
We hope you’ll get much fun to play this World and imagine dark and mysteries because, indeed there is dark history floating inside Oaksoak Hollow ...
We are glad to have updated our 2 worlds. Now, we can begin to think about new creations and for sure, it will be a very different world :D

Oaksoak Hollow - Hotel de Ville Emeraude - City Hall
The city hall is the display of Oaksoak Hollow prosperity and generosity. A good stone building with sturdy foundations with wooden annexes. Many conference rooms and offices to work and meet. As much space as possible. Nature growing strong all around.
It looks like a mansion. Probably is. The house of the latest owner of the lumber mill that used to be the economic lung of the region. Before the green revolution which made the rebirth of Oaksoak Hollow no so long ago.
the broken stone on the front is mysterious and no one knows why or whom it's there

No cheats were used in the creations of those lots
Special thanks to pancake101 who made Stone Mountain Manor, the building on which the city hall is based. It was modified to fit our purpose and slimmed down for a lighter lot.

Few Q & A before downloading Eureka Valley, just to be sure ;)
What is Eureka Valley about ?
As said in our 2 previous posts, Eureka Valley is a very pleasant world, more science/tech turned and a real mix of old farms and futuristic houses, ready to play into a full revamped and transformed Appaloosa Plains base ... We modified terrain textures, roads and trees, downtown, lots place and situation and tried to get as close as possible of our theme.
What’s the difference between Eureka Valley and your previous worlds ?
Lost Cove was a no-roads world to build upon and to play in any way you wished. And quite post-apocalyptic oriented.
Oaksoak Hollow was a very green and quite supernatural oriented world.
Eureka Valley is different. 70 lots already made for you, and still some empty lots to fill with whatever you want ;) Very very pleasant to play, fully ready to play as it is and much Science/Tech oriented. After all, Eureka Valley is the new center of Sims spatial discovery ;)
Ok ... But I loved playing with pets ...
Good ! Even we modified A LOT Appaloosa Plains, there are still some horses and other pets around ;) And as said above, we left some empty lots to build anything with. Have Fun !
Ok ... but I don’t like a horse oriented world and always found Appaloosa Plains boring ...
Good ! We modified so MUCH the world ... And not boring indeed ! After all, Eureka Valley is Science and Tech oriented ;) And Mad sometimes ...

What do I need to play Eureka Valley ?
Well ... All expansions. Even it was not the case with our 2 previous worlds, you must understand we needed Into the Future to get things and stuff related to modern builds and so on. But you do not have to play Oasis Landing if you are not interested.
My game is made upon every expansion AND EA Worlds. Then I have few Store items ( not many ) and then some custom content.
Aaaaah ! Custom Content in Eureka Valley ! Eeerk ...
Yes. There is a bit of custom content. Very few indeed. But there is an easy part :D Whatever is my custom content to play with, I ALWAYS BUILD with the same custom content and the listing is quite short.
- CycloneSue stuff ( @ TSR )
- ATS stuff ( @ Around the Sims 3 )
- My own CC ( @ k-hippie )
- Very few other creators ( mainly @ MTS ones such as Armiel and Hudy777 )
Going to provide the listing of cc used in Eureka Valley
EVERY house rebuild in Eureka Valley is CC free furnished. And because CAW encapsule the custom .sims3pack files and not the .package files, you won’t have a huge listing of cc to install ;)
In addition, I will provide my own CC I build everything with. This way, it will be easier for you if you are interested in.
And of course, we provide all the rabbit holes you need.
Is Eureka Valley populated ?
No. But we may provide a SaveGame file with population of cool Sims ;) this file should be uploaded this weekend ...
When Eureka Valley will be available ?
Right NOW :) Stay tuned because we are preparing too all the files besides the world itself ...

EUREKA VALLEY POPULATED SAVE GAME
As promised in the previous post, we provide today the populated .savegame files to fully enjoy Eureka Valley ... and have a quick talk about the Residential Lots :) Oh ! and 2 small announcements at the end of this post ;)
What’s inside the .savegame files ?
- A populated Eureka Valley
- A house we forgot to add in the Eureka Valley Word ... ( sometimes I wonder why we test a world during 15 days if we forget things and stuff !!! ) :D
- A simple Festival Lot which fits in size a terrain we left unbuilded in front of the Hospital ...
- We modified the Fire Station situation to fit much better with roads alongside. The kind of modification that will be in the update of Eureka Valley in few weeks/months ...
- Few details here and there but nothing important :D
Then let’s talk about Residential lots ... As you see, they are not bad at all ( only because we just rebuild them and not created from the ground because truly, there are so talented house builders around ! gosh ... )
This time, the Residential lots are more furnished than in Oaksoak Hollow ... Maybe not as furnished as you like but indeed we don’t want to over furnish since you surely prefer playing with your own tastes ;)
The point is ... to fully enjoy these lots ( both residential and community ) DO NOT FORGET TO GET the k-hippie build cc for all the cool textures inside :D
I do not have so many pictures of the cc itself but it’s mostly ( around 90% ) my own sims 4 build stuff I converted for the Sims 3 ( so pictures available in our sims4 walls threads ). Note to myself : do more build conversion .................. ;)
Interesting Fact : As I always build with the same CC ( when I use CC which is not so often really ! ) the provided cc will bring you the textures used in Oaksoak Hollow too ! ( and every future world )
A quick word now related to projects :
- There will be an Oaksoak Hollow update quite soon ...
- A new Sims 3 world is in the pipes : Shetland Harbour ( everything is in the title ) with a much more foggy feeling ( well ... Shetlands ! )

Well ... Well ... Well ... EUREKA VALLEY is on its way :)
Our new Eureka Valley World is finally done ans is now under testing on PC ( 32 bits ) and Mac ( both 32 bits & 64 bis versions ) so here some pictures :)
What to expect with Eureka Valley ?
As with our 2 previous worlds, Eureka Valley is a green oriented town ... and in this case, a quite luxurious world. We modified terrain textures, roads and trees, downtown, lots place and situation and tried to get as close as possible of our idea.
Our idea was to get a mixed world between farming and tech and so, transformed many things to that purpose. Eureka Valley is a very pleasant world, more science turned and a real mix of old farms and futuristic houses, ready to play into a full revamped and transformed Appaloosa Plains base ... and from Appaloosa Plains to Eureka Valley, from Earth to Outerworld, the new center of the Sims spatial road to the future is available to play with :)
We made 70 lots ( 38 community and 32 residential ) to fit Eureka Valley. And we will provide all the files needed to play with :) including a .save file with population for a “ready to play” game ;)
Among the lots, we made a community 3-lotd combo : Consignment Store - Geek Store - Market which is intended tp be the Center of Eureka Valley, just besides the City Hall and the Coffee Shop :)
We kept 2 residential lots and 4 community lots from Oaksoak Hollow ...
- Eureka Valley Café
- Eureka Valley School
- Eureka Valley General Store ( which is now the Grocery lot too )
- Eureka Valley Outdoor Pool ( this one is present in each of our world ! )
Everything else is new :)
As for Oaksoak Hollow, we’ll provide the listing of every lot with credits and if we forget someone, just tell us ;)
