Look who’s back (again)
Hi guys! Long time no see and all that, I guess. Well, I saw you, but you didn’t see me because... we’ll say I am NOT a fan of 2022 so far (and we’ve just about half way through) and leave it at that.
Just, if anyone got the phone number of a witch that does speedy curse lifting, I may be interested (more if she does family discounts)
Anyhow, I have had some peace for the last week or so, so I decided to test my new PC muscles
Tumblr media
And all the nice statues that have been converted for antiquity junkies like me...
Tumblr media
Since Pikassos is an island, Poseidon is quite the important deity around here, and he has his own mini Parthenon:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Of course, Zeus being Zeus, he had to insert himself onto the place, because why be the king of Gods if you can’t annoy your own brother, I ask?
Tumblr media
Artemis, maybe, checking out the place...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I’ve also build a few things in town, but they’re all WIP, so maybe next time...You guys know how it is after a long Sim break...
One has GOT to scour the net to put one’s greedy paws on all the lovely CC one missed... And then out it in game and all that.
I even tried reshade...well tried to try reshade and got not much further that a pretty headache. The only thing I could make sense of was the ready to use one at Modthesims, and that didn’t turn out great for my game, so it went right out.
Oh well, maybe I’ll figure it out in time.
Anyhow, nice to be able to see I still remember the cheat codes, and maybe I’ll see you next week ... or in 6 months!

Frescos from the Villa of the Mysteries in Pompeii as 3-tile wall paintings. Three variations.
Dating to the first century B.C.E., these lavish frescos are thought to depict a Greco-Roman mystery cult initiation ritual.

2 Corinthians 4: 1–2
My translation:
1 On account of this, having this service just as we were shown mercy, we lose not enthusiasm 2 but we spoke out about the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness nor adulterating the word of God but in disclosure of the truth commending ourselves to every conscience of men before God.
Notes:
4:1
διὰ τοῦτο is causal. τοῦτο is generally taken to be anaphoric to 3:18 (so CGT, NIGTC), although it could be cataphoric to the following participial clause (so ICC).
The direct object of the present participle ἔχοντες (from ἔχω) is τὴν διακονίαν, modified by attributive near-demonstrative pronoun ταύτην. The participle is epexegetic of τοῦτο above if τοῦτο is cataphoric, or else causal (“Because we have this ministry”) with the main verb ἐγκακοῦμεν below. NIGTC suggests the sense of ἔχω here is, “since we are entrusted with this ministry”.
The correlative adverb καθὼς with aorist passive ἠλεήθημεν (from ἐλεέω “I show mercy”) modifies ἔχω above. The correlative clause is taken by some translations to have an instrumental sense (NIV: “through God’s mercy”; NRSV: “it is by God’s mercy”; HCSB: “because we were shown mercy”).
The οὐκ ... ἀλλά construction (v. 1–2) indicates strong contrast.
ἐκκακέω (6x) is literally, “I behave badly”; BDAG glosses the verb, “lose enthusiasm, be discouraged”, noting ‘the opposition of τὸ καλόν and τὸ κακόν in Greco-Roman thought respecting civic responsibility’. In other words, to lose enthusiasm for your civic responsibilities is to “behave badly” from a Greco-Roman point of view. Contra BDAG, ICC glosses the verb, “I am remiss/lax/reluctant”; most translations follow BDAG with, “lose heart”; HCSB: “give up”. The negated present οὐκ ἐγκακοῦμεν is the main verb of the clause.
4:2
ἀλλά introduces the second half of the οὐκ ... ἀλλά construction begun in verse 1.
The hapax legomenon ἀπεῖπον is literally, “I speak out”, from ἀπό + εἶπον; BDAG: “I disown, renounce” (in the middle-voice). The lexical form is in the (2nd) aorist because the present-tense was not used (BDAG).
The adjective κρυπτός (19x) is, “hidden, secret” (BDAG). The substantival τὰ κρυπτὰ (“the hidden things”; NIV: “secret ... ways”; NET: “hidden deeds”) is the direct object of the aorist middle ἀπειπάμεθα.
ἡ αἰσχύνη (6x) is, “shame”, from αἰσχύνομαι (5x) “I am ashamed”; ICC: “disgrace”. The genitive τῆς αἰσχύνης modifies τὰ κρυπτὰ above (lit. “hidden things of shame”), and is most naturally taken as attributive (“shameful secret things”, HCSB; sim. NET; so NIGTC). ICC, however, says this ‘does not do justice to the presence of the definite article’ [sic], and opts for a genitive of relationship, “the hidden practices belonging to the category of disgraceful conduct”. The genitive could also be epexegetical (“hidden, that is, shameful things”) or subjective (“secrecy prompted by shame”; Harris, quoted by EGGNT).
The μὴ ... μηδὲ ... ἀλλὰ construction (“neither ... nor ... but”) indicates sharp antithesis. The three following present participles μὴ περιπατοῦντες ... μηδὲ δολοῦντες ... ἀλλὰ ... συνιστάνοντες (“not walking ... nor adulterating ... but commending”) modify ἀπεῖπον above, expressing either manner or means.
ἡ πανουργία (5x) comes from πᾶν + τό ἔργον and literally refers to, “[the doing of] every deed”, i.e., the willingness to do anything to achieve one’s aim; BDAG: “cunning, craftiness, trickery” (cf. πανοῦργος, “crafty”, in 12:16). The prepositional phrase ἐν πανουργίᾳ denotes manner with the present participle περιπατοῦντες (from περιπατέω); the participle could be taken to indicate manner with ἀπεῖπον above.
The hapax legomeon δολόω is, “I falsify, adulterate” (BDAG), from ὁ δόλος (11x), which originally meant, “bait”, but figuratively came to mean, “deceit” (cf. 12:16). μηδὲ is “nor”, connecting the present participle δολοῦντες with περιπατοῦντες above; ICC suggests that πανουργία and δολόω both refer to the same act, falsifying God’s word. τὸν λόγον is the direct object of the participle; τοῦ θεοῦ is a subjective genitive or perhaps a genitive of source.
ἡ φανέρωσις (2x), from φανερόω, is “disclosure, announcement” (BDAG), but here translates, “open proclamation”. The dative τῇ φανερώσει is instrumental modifying συνιστάνοντες below. The genitive τῆς ἀληθείας is objective (NIV: “by setting forth the truth plainly”).
The present participle συνιστάνοντες (from συνίστημι “I commend”; see note on 3:1) is the third participle modifying ἀπεῖπον above. ἑαυτοὺς is the direct object. The prepositional phrase πρὸς πᾶσαν συνείδησιν is spatial (“to each conscience”). The genitive ἀνθρώπων is possessive (“each person’s conscience”). The adverb ἐνώπιον functions as a preposition with object τοῦ θεοῦ (“before God”, NET; most translations: “in the sight of God”).

Hello! I hope you and yours are well and safe!
This is long overdue. I have recently installed all of your nude bottoms and tops in my game and WOW, my Sims look amazing in them! So many combinations and possibilities to beef them up :)
And then you've given us loads of clothes as Accessories so that we get to keep them into the nice shape of those nude bottoms and tops... Am loving it! Thank you so much for creating and sharing them!
And then there is all the Transgender CC you've created, that I keep using in my private saves, and they are UNIQUE in Sims 3, I believe. And that is the core of your Sims 3 creation -- unique things! Am so thankful to you! Not to mention the Greco-roman CC from a while ago, that I love forever!
And then there are all the objects, again many of them unique... You are a blessing to this game, and I hope you receive many blessing in your real life too!
This is not like a goodbye note from me or anything, just a very emotional and heatfelt thanks that I should have written and sent a while ago already.
Cheers!
AZ
😁 🥰 Hello! Thank you so much for this kind message 😊 You put a smile on my face  as I read this 💜 💜
Tumblr media
Beefed up sims are always needed hehe It really make me happy to know that my cc is used by others and that it makes their games more interesting to play 😃 I always love seeing your posts and as I said before, you are very creative with your stories and your pictures. I consider your pics to be quite artistic 🥰  I believe you have been around for longer than me, and I hope we continue to see your sims art, for how long you allow us. Interesting fact: you are one of my oldest followers, I still have messages from you on the previous blog 😁 When I first started making cc and posting it, back in 2014, I was just going to share the few things I made, in case someone had use for my random things. And I want to say that you are one of the people that made me I keep doing it. There’s a couple of simblrs that in the beginning gave me positive feedback and lovely messages, and they made me want to create and share more, and you were one of them ☺️ 💜 the other was @murfeelee  😊💜
Thank you very much for this lovely message dear 💜 💜 Have a lovely day!

all of them for Paris please :D
That was a lot – like hours, and you owe me Tharen x Rayland goodies now or gay werewolves I'm not picky. Also it wouldn’t paste right so the numbers are missing. Oops. Answers under the cut because it really was a lot.
BASICS
What’s their full name? Paris Sonata Royale
What does their name mean? Why were they named that? Paris means “Lover” and it doesn't get more accurate than that, does it? His parent's were going for important prince from legend though. His middle name is just his mom's maiden name – They were those type of rich people. Why I picked it was because I looked at him and said he looks like a Paris and it stuck since it fit the Greco-Roman and/or space themed naming thing I had going on, and more importantly it fit him. Royale was just
Do they have any nicknames? Just the normal coupley stuff like “Babe”.
How old are they? He's about 33 when the story starts, and 40ish as of the latest post
When’s their birthday? July 6th
What’s their zodiac sign/element/birthstone/etc.? Do they believe that holds any significance?
No idea unfortunately (if anybody has an idea drop it in the comments).
What’s their species/subspecies? Do they have any special/magical abilities?
In the Starfall universe berry sims are descendants of the Fae and other mythological creatures. Which is the long was to say he's an Elf. No magical abilities unfortunately.
What “class” do they belong to (for fantasy characters)? If none, what weapon do they favor?
N/A
APPEARANCE
What do they look like? About 5'11”, light purple, curly black hair.
Do they have a face claim? N/A
What’s their style like? Clothes, hair, makeup? Comfortable clothing mostly – lots of t-shirts and sweaters and jeans. Hair is usually mid length, curly, warn down.
How do they carry themselves? What’s their default expression? Paris is normally pretty confident and smiling. Of course some of that has to do with his former career and learning how to act confident even when he isn't.
Do they have any physical ailments or disabilities? Yes, he has a degenerative muscular chronic pain condition. It's hereditary and incurable.
PERSONALITY
What’s their alignment? Just a guessing, but probably something like Lawful Good.
Which one of the 16 Personality Types do they fit into? No idea... he's an introvert though.
What are their hobbies and interests? Do they have any particular “favorites” (food, books, and so on)? He loves music. He plays both piano and guitar. He also loves running when his health is good enough. Oh, and traveling – especially with Callie.
What are they bad at? Do crowds count? He's really bad at keeping on a schedule. Probably has to do with the crazy work schedule he kept for decades.
What kind of things do they dislike/hate? Being patronized/people assuming/deciding he can't do something. Being left out. Crowds.
Do they have any vices/addictions/mental illnesses? He does struggle with anxiety as a result of his medical issues and the way his family treated him after he got sick. Wolfbane helps.
What are their goals and motivations? When he was younger his goals were all music related, and he achieved most of them. Now his goals are all associated with taking care of his family and being there for them as long as he can.
What are their manners like? Any habits?
What are they most afraid of? Dying young. Not being there for his family.
BACKGROUND
Where were they born? What was their childhood like? So Paris is a rich kid. The big multi-generational family company, and he disappointed everyone by becoming a professional musician (right up until he started winning awards and they changed their minds). He actually had a happy childhood. Despite being rich, he had a mostly normal childhood with loving parents and a large extended family. Super rare for one of my main characters. It's mostly just him and Elio on the normal childhood thing.
What’s their family like? Paris' family situation is strained now. For most of his life he had a pretty good relationship with everyone, but after he got sick, particularly after the diagnosis, the situation wasn't so great. They were very overprotective of him and controlling, so he lost his independence. Paris didn't take it well, so he left which strained his relationship with his family. His parents both passed away before he and Callie got together. He's on a “Solstice cards and birthday phone calls” basis with his extended family. So the Aunts and Uncles and cousins on his side know about Callie and the kids even if they never met them.
What factions or organizations are they a part of? What ranks and titles do they hold? He's a platinum record artist and Siren award wining artist and composer.
How do they fit into their “story”? Someone will have to explain this to me, but if I had to guess what was intended: He's the main love interest.
Where do they currently live? What’s their place like? Lorelei Island, Nixieberg. In a small and chaotic little vacation home on a cliff near the beach.
How do they eventually die? SPOILERS! Can't have that.
RELATIONSHIPS
Do they have any friends? Would they consider anyone to be their best friend? Ares Morrigan from his band is his best friend (we'll see him eventually). And Callie, of course.
What’s their friend group like? What role do they play in it? He and Ares are definitely the partners in crime type. They work really well together, but loose track of time easily. They feed of each other's creativity. It's part of what made Sons of Jupiter such a great band.
What’s their love life like? (See also: ship question meme.) Do they have any kids? Love life: Very good, though occasionally hard. He and Callie are very affectionate. Kids: 3 kids together and 1 from Callie's previous relationship.
Who do they look up to? Who do they trust? Not sure about the look up to part, but he trusts Ares and Callie, though Callie's tested that recently.
Who do they hate? Do they have any enemies? Not worth the energy, though he isn't particularly fond of Callie's father or the ex who stalked her (note: the ex that chased her away from home is not Rusty or O).
Do they have any pets? Wolfbane, the Shepherd of Chaos.
Are they good with kids? Animals? He's very good with kids and animals. He loves spending time and playing with them.
FUN FACTS
Which tropes do they fit? Which archetypes? He's very much the hurt guy who has given up on relationships and then finds the right girl and becomes totally sappy.
Do they play any instruments? Sports? Instruments: Piano and Guitar well, dabbles in anything else he can get his hands on. Sports: Running. He swims a bit too, but running is his big thing.
What are some items they always carry? His phone and his faithful dog.
Do they collect anything? Fans from the looks of things – pretty sure he's more popular than Callie is. On a more serious note the only collection he really had in game was pictures of his family (mostly Callie) and sheet musics for songs he wrote.
What position do they sleep in? Cuddled up with Callie.
Which emoji would they use the most? The happy crying face and probably the kissing face.
What languages do they speak? Shoot I never named the languages. Um, so he knows how to say phrases in several languages for work – you know stuff like “hello”, “How do you like the show?” “Thanks for coming out”.
What’s their favorite expletive? Probably fuck since it has so many uses, though he can't really say it now that there are always kids around.
What’s their favorite candle scent? Not really the scented candle type, but whatever Callie buys.
What songs remind you of them? …. I really should create character playlists so I can answer these, huh?
Which animal would you say represents them? A wolf. Everyone associates them with loners, but their really pack animals.
What stereotypical high school clique would they fit into? Oh, he was the guy who was always playing/listening/talking about music. The garage band rocker.
What would their favorite ride at an amusement park be? Okay so if you ask me about amusement park rides I will relate them with Disney attractions. I would imagine Paris loving things like the Three Cabelleros or Small World where he gets to laugh about how they interpreted the different cultures and places he's seen in person.
Do they believe in aliens? Ghosts? Reincarnation or something else? He wouldn't rule them out.
Do they follow any religions/gods? Do they celebrate holidays? Okay, so lore time Berries are mythological creatures and all those myths – Greco-Roman, Celtic, Nordic etc – are their histories. So it gets a bit confusing, but it's definitely a pantheon situation. Paris isn't overly religious though, so he generally believes in the Fates, like most Berries, but doesn't really practice the religion. He does celebrate stuff like Solstice (Winterfest), and Love Day which is of course associated with Aphrodite.

Hello! I've just recently found your blog and I love it! I've found so many CC through it and the ambience and level of detail in your story pictures is spectacular! I have a couple of CC related questions, actually: first, I am trying to build a faun character, for which I'd like to use Juba's separate faun legs and tail set. However, sadly it is no longer available for download. Would you happen to have the file? Second, what is the bottom your Minoan court ladies are wearing? Many thanks!
Glad you like the blog!
Let’s hope it inspires more people to play Greek and/or Roman saves in Sims 3, and that more Greek and Roman CC comes around!
Thank you for asking so kindly! As agreed, I’m making this answer public because it might help other people.
So Juba_Oo’s Project Faun download links are down, and I’m sharing the archives of their beautiful, unique CC HERE  – hoping it is not a problem since there is no notice on their blog that they want it down, or until requested by the creator to remove it.
As to the Minoan ladies, I believe you are referring to this pic. They are both using EA’s dresses from some expansion pack (I really don’t know what they are) and this Belt ACC HERE (beware download goes through threadsphere).
Let me know when you have any Greco-roman related pictures shared, and I’ll be happy to reblog  them here!

Games I’m excited about for 2018
Spider-man (PS4 exclusive): This list is in no way ranked. That being said this is my most anticipated game of 2018. I have been waiting for a Spider-man game to grab me since Spider-man 2. When I was at E3 the gameplay looked really promising and showed that the developers knew what made the good games good. From what I can see they even were able to pull some of the things that made the bad games good a la “Web of Shadows”. I’m not going to say much else for fear of this whole post turning into a Spider-man rant. Don’t let me down Insomniac. Do not.
Dragon Ball FighterZ: This game looks SHIT HOT and I’m excited to have a fighter I really want to get into from this generation. Smooth seamless combat at breakneck speeds and so much source material it was probably daunting. DBZ is special to me and many people like me, the guys at Arc Systems have their work cut out for them and I’m excited. My fighting games thus far have been Soul Calibur 3, MvC 2, and the little I dabbled in Injustice 2 ....yeah as you can see fighting games aren’t my thing. This, however, this is gonna be something I commit to. Come January 28th these hands will be on sale, come and get it
Days Gone (PS4 exclusive): 28 Days Later-esque pandemic centered in a rich yet frightening wilderness with survival mechanics? Single Player based?Yes please and thank you I will be having all of it. The gameplay looks great and just as importantly, the story seems engaging. Yes, it’s the same Last of Us scenario we’ve encountered time and time again in both games and movies. This time I think that may have been taken into account. There’s a somber yet rooted tone that though again has been done before, really seems to hold up even in the brief cutscenes available online. Am I worried that the developers have really only accomplished the Syphon Filter series (dating myself here which is a scary thought), two PS Vita Uncharted games, one unremarkable Resistance game, and Bubsy 3D in ‘96.... NOPE fuck it cause it’s almost promised to be free of micro-transactions and actually be an enjoyable and enthralling experience.
Monster Hunter World: The beta was fun, combat felt a little empty at times but once it gets going there is no stopping this game. Something about hunting a Slug Fish creature in a swamp, turning a corner only to see some unholy being vaguely reminiscent of a T Rex fused with an Armadillo. At that point I realized that we may be the monster hunters but holy shitfuck we better come correct. Really really really deep equipment and tools settings. Your main weapon is just the beginning with perks, buffs both passive and active, as well as a few other key tools also being at your disposal. I got a buddy to join me and the two of us dragged each other through that ordeal but it was hard because it was new, I was still having a good time. I’m excited to see what Capcom brings to their first console rendition in 11 years for a franchise that is as highly acclaimed as this one.
Far Cry 5: This is a series that has always done an amazing job at the whole “Hunter v Hunted” aesthetic. I always feel so powerful and dangerous when I play Far Cry and 3 was a huge step in the right direction. 4 had a lot of things that I enjoyed, the gunplay, vehicles, and characters were really good. It did, however, fall a little short story-wise as well as some worn game mechanics with this being the fourth in the series. I did not get to play FC5 at E3 because that line was absurd. That being said, from the gameplay available on Youtube and various interviews it does seem that Ubisoft is aware of the potential stale twinge Far Cry has developed over the years. I’m looking forward to cutting down zealot cultists in the open Montana landscapes. March 27.
Anthem: This game is important, after the fuck-shit-stack that was Battlefront 2 and the cacophony of backlash that came with it; EA have to get this right. This loot box based online shooter, the “Destiny-killer” it’s being called. How does one kill what is already dead? Fuck if I know but I am interested IF they can do it right. That being said, my hopes aren’t high, but this game will be a barometer. This will show whether EA is willing to bend at all on their plans for monetization. They know a BF2 scenario is totally on the table now, and if they misstep, there will be more backlash. Either way, we win, either we get a good game or EA get put on another stake to burn.
Vampyr: From the developer that brought us Life is Strange and Remember Me comes a new game set in London 1918 during the Spanish Flu pandemic. We will play a vampire (sigh prime journalism over here folks) in town with a set number of NPCs and each death will have consequences for both you and the city. Semi-open world with an RPG and combat focus, I’m so down and I really hope this game can do new things. Q2 (Jan., Feb., Mar.) 2018
Soul Calibur 6: My fighting game is back and this is going to be a weird year for me with not one but two fighting games that will find my focus this year. Mitsurugi, Sophitia, and around 20+ are back to beat the everloving snot out of each other. I’m excited because this is supposedly a “reboot” of the franchise which means a lot of the original characters will be back (Nightmare, Maxi, Ivy, Taki, Kilik, etc). Things like armor breaking are both interesting and worrisome. I suspect Taki, Ivy, and the other unreasonably busty women of the series will be left awfully vulnerable sans armor by the mid/end of a battle. Regardless, this revamp maybe what the fighting franchise needs to enter the ring against the big boys of this generation.
Death Stranding: DEATH MOTHER FUCKING STRANDVXIRJORWTMDNGHF  Let me tell you something, Kojima is going to save us all. I’m serious he is going to take all our hands and walk us into the sunlight of gaming where there are no microtransactions, the singleplayer is an epic odyssey, the multiplayer is fun but unnecessary, and the gaming experience is not only unique but has a lasting impression on every gamer brave enough to hold a controller. This game is going to test us, change us, and maybe most importantly: make people rethink the way games are made/designed. The third person sci-fi nightmare adventure will be here before we know it and great Scott am I ready to dive in.
Red Dead Redemption 2: Had you asked me about RDD2 and it’s hypothetical production about 3 years ago; I would’ve said something along the lines of  “Fuck yes yippie kai yay mfs where mah horse at”. After Take-Two (parent company of 2k and Rockstar) came out and essentially supported EA’s usage of loot boxes. The CEO stated that “Recurrent consumer spending was the way of the future,” which is concerning to say the very least. I’m worried my West World sim is gonna turn into well...something more like West World. “Oh what’s that want a new hat? 5 bucks. New horse? 10 doll hairs plz. New gun? 15 smackers and the skin off your respective genitalia. Thank you come again.” My once resounding and honestly strange response is definitely more tepid and cautious. GTAV is lending itself quite nicely to the ways of the microtransaction and I can just see little buckets of gold nuggets or some dumb shit like that hinging in front of me or at the local shop. If so may there be backlash, and lots of it.
HONORABLE MENTIONS:
Greedfall: Developed by Spiders, a team with an... interesting track record in gaming (Sherlock Holmes v Jack the Ripper, Bound by Flame, and Technomancer [yikes]). On paper, this game sounds like it might be worth a damn and this is the most publicity any of their games have gotten so that does peak my interest. That and the publisher is Focus Home Interactive, makers of games like Divinity 2 and The Surge as well as my highly anticipated Call of Cthulhu and Vampyr. Who knows, this team up might just work. An open world RPG with online mechanics sounds fun.
God of War: I have never played a God of War game all the way through. With this being my first PlayStation that does make sense. That being said, I’m very excited to sit down and try my hand at this rebooted series. Given the reputation and clear influence a game like GoW has had, it does lead my expectations up rather than down. Santa Monica is developing, Ready at Dawn for some reason isn’t but it’s good to see the original team getting another crack at the Spartan. This time Greco-Roman gods are put aside for a more Nordic feel. The chain blades replaced with a hefty ax as well as a few other tools from what I’ve read/heard. Another interesting single player experience for those turned off by multiplayer and microtransactions. Not to say it won't have them just look at Shadow of War. It does, however, make it considerably less likely.
BioMutant: Traverse an open and changing world as an also everchanging bio-genetic mutant. Supposedly going to have big rpg mechanics involving the fact that your character’s schtick is evolving and changing. Brought to you by THQ Nordic the people that brought us the highs of the Darksiders series, Painkiller: Hell and Damnation, and Red Faction (2001). As well as some lows like the recently imploded Elex, Alan Wake, and the classic Spynx and the Cursed Mummy. I really don’t know what to make of this resume let alone what to expect. I am however excited for something new in the third person adventure genre.

because many and long and thorough:
danjaley replied to your photo “A single glance sufficed for Alvar to see he would have a hard time...”
I like this thought. And it links Alvar and Tobio on yet another level.
In future updates we shall learn how their relationship developed after that first sexual encounter, but I thought I’d already leave this hinting at their paths, that is really so different between themselves.
danjaley replied to your photoset “There lay a peculiar emptiness to the closet, though. Tobio’s clothes...”
Oh dear, this really is a large bottle of wine! ;)
And it’s a particularly beautiful one, right, @aroundthesims
tyrellsimsoficeandfire replied to your photo “The outbreak of war had interrupted the normal and predictable career...”
I like this so much. Fire always makes beautiful effects. And the background! I'm looking forward to see more of your WW I recreations.
It is so atmospheric, I agree. One can feel the ambient just because of the image of the fire pit. It must be our ancestral collective memories.
As for the WWI, this is when the steampunk accent creeps in... There is virtually nothing specific to recreate the war, so it will be more on the side of fantasy and imagination than recreation...
tyrellsimsoficeandfire replied to your photoset “There lay a peculiar emptiness to the closet, though. Tobio’s clothes...”
What a luxurious bedroom.
Oh, Alvar think it is so middling class, so constraining in its humbleness... But it did take a lot work to build this set!
tyrellsimsoficeandfire replied to your photo “Alvar had then ventured into yet another room of his friend’s house...”
Alvar still looks kinda hot...
Poor Alvar. He would never think of himself as hot -- did people use that term back then? --, and not in his lame post-war persona anyways... But I agree with you, he still looks fit and his partial nudity in contrast with the formal attire is kinda hot!

I keep coming back to see if you've added more to this, it intrigues me as to how it ties into everything else
And it took only a few days... Sorry to keep you waiting. I hope it makes more sense now.

Oh hi!!! I remember you from 'beneath the stairs!' lolol x
And what stairs are we talking about? Because Alvar has been carrying Apollo Jim since the margins of the river, up those incredible stone stairs where Death tried to dissuade and distract him :)

I love the blend also @tyrellsimsoficeandfire
I simply cannot imagine my game without the Greek outfits made @venusprincess-simblr, even if I am not playing the Greco-roman world any longer, so I always make up reasons to use them... :)

What are the scars on his face from? Crazy experiments? Acid attack? He wants to be a super-villain?
Poor Tobio. He is super nothing, except perhaps super lonely, super devastated, super sad.
I don’t think I have described the ambush that cost his eye, have I? Then I should!

Weeds on the soil of wealth. Wow. Your writing is masterful!
Writing is like bathing in a river that springs from yourself. You just pick the right words as they float by you.
But when I am not in the process of actually writing words down, I wonder... Did I really write that?
Thank you always for your support!

I always like the atmosphere your shots hsbe6. One can really feel the warmth and intimacy! Also, do I spot danjaley's fireside poses?
I don’t think I remember her poses, but I probably should... These poses are actually from two guys cuddling next to a car, on the floor of a parking lot... Not the least like this scene, actually! But when I saw it I knew it was just right for Alvar and his cousin Freddie.

I'm curious if there's some reason why they are associated with greece?
It’s the ideal time, in the understanding and idealization of the Victorian era, for their love otherwise condemned and forbidden, called then the Greek Love... I have explained it in this post, and declarations-of-drama has a comment below that adds to this, too, if you want to read my answer to it.
danjaley replied to your photo “I understand it, Alvie.” Alvar’s name in Frederic’s mouth was little...”
I was going to say they have these characteristic WW1 faces, but I've come to realize it must be the style rather than the faces, when I compare them with the Greek versions. That's interesting, as I always wonder where those types disappear to when they go out of fashion - or how we'd all look if the year was 1917...
Thank you for mentioning this! It’s very interesting isn’t it?
I did make a post with my inspirations to create the characters for LoSSS. I f look closely to their faces, they are timeless male beauties, considering Western and Classical Greek standards... And they do resemble contemporary male models or actors of our days. It’s their hairstyles and clothes and the photography of course that makes them dated, like you say.
Just like sometimes I meet Italian people who do look like a Roman marble statue come to life...

So young, so willing to give up everything for hopes and dreams, for love, Alvar's innocence hurts
Yes, that is Alvar, at his purest in the company of the man of his life!

Oh, I would say this is a crime against passion, Alvar and Freddie’s passion!

So, something mixed with the Absinthe?
This is what we know or are led to believe so far. Maybe Tobio  will find out more.

I also had to come back to this chapter to read your description again of the brothels. I've done a bit of reading about these places before now and am sort of a bit fascinated by the whole logistics of how those places conducted business and the lives of the workers etc etc. You paint a very graphic image of it.
I admit to not having researched extensively on this subject, other than reading about brothels and a little about sexuality and pornography in Victorian times -- though this is supposedly Edwardian times (or the end of it) in the story, and then WWI and the changes it brought... I’m happy you did not find any inconsistencies, but please do let me know if you spot any!
declarations-of-drama replied to your photo “The boy stood clearly not for a sailor, though the hat could have been...”
But why would he be wearing a false tattoo? Roleplay? To be seen as a sailor boy I guess?
The tattoo matches the strange outfit, though not so strange for a rent boy who is supposed to fulfill his clients’ fantasies...
The plots holds several small mysteries, and this is one of them...
declarations-of-drama replied to your photo “I don’t think I understand it, Alvar Andrew. You don’t intend to...”
Why is there so much concern for this boy? I'm a bit lost here.
I hope this has been answered in this post, though it is left ambiguous and rather open as Alvar does not utter a word, leaving Tobio to conclude...
I  shall have to be more explicit in the future about the link between Alvar and the boy.
declarations-of-drama replied to your photo “You are taking him to your ancestral lands? To live under the same...”
Good question! And Tobio has probably seen too many to be as bothered about him tbh
Exactly, that’s what he says, too! And the next post to this holds the revelation...
declarations-of-drama reblogged your photo and added:
Art against art…
declarations-of-drama replied to your photo “Not proud.  Not the least, not Alvar.  Not for any past weaknesses,...”
This is amazingly beautiful! The contrast really catches my eye and it's almost hard to distinguish the Sim from the painting! Well done!!! x
Thank you so much for the reblog, and your kind words, dear!
I did play a lot with this scene. I tried several choices of paintings, and different poses for Alvar, and changed the colors on the wallpaper until it matched and still contrasted with Alvar’s skin.
I’m hardly ever satisfied with lighting in Sims 3, and that the part I try to correct in PS.
I’m so glad you liked the final result, and the one shot I chose to upload from the dozen I made :)
declarations-of-drama replied to your photo “But still, quite accomplished.  As if again turned into thorn flesh,...”
Alvar should also have phantom pains, and boils would come and go to accompany the intrusion of a false support. Also he would probably call it his stump and not his amputated leg (which is by now probably lost, burned or used in medical science).
I did not reflect about this, thinking an amputated leg was both what remained and what was removed... But you are right saying that sometimes the specific word is stump... I’ll have to rewrite this, and pay more attention from now on!
declarations-of-drama replied to your photo “His temples throbbed, too, as if his heart, oscillating between...”
Why do I get the feeling that Alv wants to be one of Tob's patients himself? Was it Tobio who took his leg?
Alvar is one of Tobio’s patients! But no, Tobio did not operate Alvar’s leg -- though that is maybe a good idea...
declarations-of-drama replied to your photoset “There lay a peculiar emptiness to the closet, though. Tobio’s clothes...”
Oh! That explains a lot!
I often hesitate about making longer posts, but sometimes it’s just what it’s needed to get the whole perspective, right?
declarations-of-drama replied to your photo “Alvar walked slowly towards the armchair next to the rack of clothes,...”
Disliking women totally, as in sexually? I often wonder about things like this, such as the levels of bi-sexuality in us and how people must have coped when they were married etc in those days
I will develop this theme in the story, both from Alvar’s and Tobio’s perspectives!
declarations-of-drama replied to your photo “From the beginning of his life – love life, sentimental life, intimate...”
I watched Troy the other night and then spent around 4 hours reading up on Greek Antiquity. It was fascinating! I'm guessing this is what Alvar with his cousin is resonating of a pedarasty relationship? Like was a required part of Greek Noble youth? It was all so fascinating to learn!
Greece was not an united nation back then, so this was mostly and Athenian thing. Pederasty, as I mentioned in this post , was not just acceptable but often a desirable thing as a rite of passage. It usually involved a wider age gap than this existing in the story, with Alvar submitting to Freddie or Tobio, that are not actually old enough to be the erastes. But I’m no expert in such matters and am writing a story, not a treaty. So you are right to mention Troy, a good movie despite all the Hollywoodian peccadilloes and hypocrisy, and the love between Achilles and Patroclus, which was not the same as in pederasty, since they were practically the same age, and not Athenians.
declarations-of-drama replied to your photo “The outbreak of war had interrupted the normal and predictable career...”
A story within a story. This should be interesting! I wonder where Freddy is now? Time for Dinner! These chapters made me HUNGRY!!! lol
This is usually how I write. Stories within stories, and plenty of flashbacks, and flashbacks withing flashbacks... Like in a mosaic, or a kaleidoscope.
Freddie is dead, like it’s been said before.
And I hope you had a good dinner!
tyrellsimsoficeandfire replied to your photo “Not proud.  Not the least, not Alvar.  Not for any past weaknesses,...”
I had the same though when seeing. @andantezen always does amazing artworks.
Thank you dear, it’s always a much needed encouragement to know that!

Haha, the detail is intended to say things about the characters, that’s why I have troubled myself and gone this far...

Gosh, this is so beautiful!
Thank you dear!

Pine trees... A lot of them!
Hello hello! I’ve been busy!
I’ve also reached the point when it’s prudent to stop building stuff in EIG if I don’t want CAW to get temperamental. I don’t know why, it always did that and I’ve learned to respect it.
So, now, it’s all terrain paintings and trees and flowers and stuff ((spawners and effects will come later)
Tumblr media
As you can see, the main Island is mostly done, at least vegetation wise
Tumblr media
The town will need more work, but the basic principle is that the higher you go, the richer you are. So we have peasants outside, the port, artisans and “little people”on the bottom tier, then some public buildings and a few posher houses near the circus, and up there, a couple “domains” for the local uppercrust.
Tumblr media
But the main work of the past week has been a couple of pine forests:
Tumblr media
With some surprises inside!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Before the Olympians, there were the Titans, Kronos being the most (in)famous. Those were their temples... Or at least the temples of the ones who opposed the new regime.
But emprisonned in the Tartar or not, Kronos is still the God of time, and so people keep burning sacred flames there.. It is only prudent, after all!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Speaking of Gods, a sneak peek at Poseidon’s temple:
Tumblr media
Yes, it is very blue, which it likely to partly change later on. It will also function as a spa, with massage tables on that bit overlooking the sea. the multi lot complex will also have another temple/home for Pos & family, and a gym.
And a big fountain. With mermaids.
Yep, I haz plans.
But for now, time to hop on the smaller island.

Pykassos Island up and running!
And yes, it is Pykassos, because why not add what we in France call a “Y grec” in there if I can?
But yes, the world packaged without any problems (yeah!) and I am now happily building stuff.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Well, more or less happily: The fog emmitter ep10hiddenisland0 cloud thing did a great job at turning that mountain into a credible Olympus...
BUT in aso wreaked havoc with the building commands... it almost drove me nuts (okay, nuttier) before I got where the problem came from, so I took them off. So, got to build the dysfunctional family dwellings first now... This game, what can you do?
Roll with it, I guess.
So, anyway, you got Zeus & Hera’s palace here in the distance, and up front...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Athenekion, aka Athena’s home. It is on the smallish size, she’s a single Goddess after all. And of course, all the trees are olive trees.
On a more mortal coil, someone else moved in in a small fisherman’s house:
Tumblr media
And going fishing at dusk... as you do. Made it back just before one epic storm...
Tumblr media
...With lightning and stuff all other. A true Zeus temper tantrum!
Tumblr media
So here is simself, with Picasso doggie of course. Also, wildly inapropriate, considering she lives alone with nary a man in sight, which would NOT have happened in ancient Greece, no siree!
Now, back to my Olympians for more building ... and the dreaded CAS (not my fav). See you soon! (I hope)

I moved on...
Hello Internet people! I hope you have a good day!
I am still in CAW/build mode:
Tumblr media
Yes, I know, I left you in Paris, and that sure doesn’t look like it!
What happened is a friend’s son showed me Assassin’s creed Odissey, and damm, is that thing pretty! Not into shooters at all, but they do good work at Ubisoft.
So, it woke up an old project of mine, to make a roadless, mediterranean island suitable for a Greco Roman play
Tumblr media
And there’s the challenge to build a realistic (somewhat, eh) town , at least partially on a slope. Fun.
So I took sunlit tides world map and tweaked till I got something I was happy with.
And then started building, because it’s what I do!
Tumblr media
We have a shipyard... And a trading post
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And slavers, because it’s antiquity and that was a thing:
Tumblr media
Also a couple of houses:
Tumblr media
I have a question for you all, however, because I’m not sure:
Tumblr media
As you can see, I kept the Sunlit tides silly mountain/volcano (without the volcano)
Tumblr media
I was going to make it into a Parthenon of sorts.
But, it’s really up there, so I was wondering if I could/should, circle that plateau with clouds (need to find out how to do this) and sort of build Olympus up there, with temples/homes for the whole dysfunctional family.
What do you all think?
Oh, and while I’m on this: Using the heck out of @grecoromansimspoetry tumblr to find antique compatible stuff, and @nilxis for the Uranesian texture who are going to make this island (I need a name!) so much more beautiful. Thanks to you both!

Pikassos Island, going strong.
Hello everyone!
Long time no see, but I had adventures. First, I learned there was a tourist version of Assassin’s creed Odissey, which I didn’t know.
So I had to get it.
Not sure it was entirely a good idea... 12 hours of download, people. Yes, I know, just put the thing on and go to sleep, you’ll have your game in the morning. Yeah, no, what I have is small crap karma, so everytime I went to do something else, download f***ing conked. Lemme tell you, at 3 am and 97%, when the thing stopped for 10 good mins, I was VERY rude.
Said a lot of things I probably shouldn’t have, amongst which “I’ll never complain about TS3 again”
And crap karma and the EA Gods went “hold my beer”... And I couldn’t go in EIG anymore.
Which, not cool. I tend to do a couple hours in CAW, terrain painting and the like, and then wind down by building stuff. Tried taking out all the CC I got ince my last EIG, destroyed a perfectly servicable farm and the lot it was on, but no cookies.
Damm.
So, new save (thank the Gods CAW is a separate program!), and I’m incrementaly putting some CC back. I’ll just add the deco stuff and furniture later. Pfew!
Tumblr media
But I did make progress at last. About 1/3 of the big Island is all done and ready to be build on, smallish island is terrain painted.
Tumblr media
I think I’m going to put Dyonisos and Aphrodite there, with the local wine making industry. In short, a place to get hammered, especially if you cross path with  Hephaistos looking for his vagrant spouse.
in other parts, the first fishing hamlet:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
this place needs more nets, fish, pots, and alltogether general stuff, but it will come later. For now, just whishing my (future) fisherman and his family a good catch!
Next, Poseidon temple/spa complex, with gymnasium and swimming pool (mermaids optional)
See you soon!
PS: Assassin’s Creed discovery is extremely beautiful, and I’m learning things in the guided tours. But in case you’re interested, be warned, it’s a graphic card devourer.
