Do you ever think about how cute it is that Simon immediately knew that Wille had no idea the song was about him. Like personally watching this and the way the argument was going idk what i was thinking but I wasn't thinking "oh Wille has no idea this is about him". Like based on his little smile and stuff when he heard the song I thought he got the general message esp since Felice and other people did. But Simon says it so matter of factly like he obviously doesn't know so I'm gonna tell him. It also feels a little like he gave him the benefit of the doubt- like assumed Wille didn't know vs assuming he did know and was still acting this way. I just think it's one of those little ways that shows Simon really understands Wilhelm and their communication may not always be spelled out but they get each other in their own way. I kind of see this scene as similar to the "Wille, It's Okay" moment in terms of Simon understanding him.

really love that august will now be burdened with the crown, that we see sara reject him. that was arguably his last chance at any sort of normal love life. after what he did to wille and simon, destroying their privacy and ability to navigate their love for each other at the right pace, it’s satisfying to know that now he is going to be the one dealing with the lack of privacy and heightened scrutiny because of his title. i also like how he was always more than just a straightforward villain, he’s still a person and he still grew to be better over time. still hate him personally but i like that he isn’t one-dimensional and that wille forgave him and doesn’t have to carry the weight of that resentment any longer.

Something that I realized that one of the reasons Wilhelm fell for Simon so hard is Simon's patience towards Wilhelm. Right from the first scene of S1, we get to know that the people around Wilhelm, especially the people he looks up to (like Erik and Kristina) or the people he is supposed to listen to (like the representatives of the Royal Court and the PR team surrounding him) treat him like an inconvenience. A problem they need to solve as soon as possible. A liability, an irresponsible young prince up to no good. They send him off to Hillerska for damage control, despite him not wanting that in the slightest. And the worst part is that Wilhelm is none of those things, which we find out soon as the story progresses. He's just a kid who wants to live a normal life and is absolutely sick of the circus around his status. Yes, Kristina and Erik cared for Wilhelm, but the way they constantly made Wilhelm feel like he's the one being difficult and creating problems for everyone was wrong.

But then he met Simon. Simon who sat with him and listened to his drunk ramblings at the Initiation Party without judging him for it, Simon who checked up on him at the Horror Movie night and gave him all the time in the world to make his mind about the kiss. Simon who not only rescued him from the football field but also stayed with him in the morning on just a simple request. Simon who was pissed with Wilhelm for throwing Alexander under the bus at the Lucia night but still comforted Wille because he understood why Wilhelm did what he did. Simon was always patient with Wilhelm, and I just love how it progresses in S2 as well. He's battling his conflicting feelings for Wilhelm, he was pissed and hurt because of him, but he still tries to treat Wilhelm with patience as best as he could, from listening and talking to Wilhelm after his forceful almost-removal from Hillerska, to confessing his newfound understanding of Wilhelm's situation through Malin and Siv's story. And although Wilhelm's initial motivation for seeking out Simon was attraction, I think what made him truly fall for Simon(and something he desperately missed while being away from Simon in S2) is Simon's patience and willingness to understand his feelings, something which he lacked very much in his life.

You know what was the first thing that I loved about Young Royals?

In the start, you'd think that Wilhelm is gonna be this party craze bad boy, who's broody and mysterious. But he wasn't, he turned out to be huge dork and I absolutely loved it. I was so tired of the tsundere character being brought out by the love interest.

And Wilhelm is kind to everybody. English shows constantly show characters who are rude and assholes to everyone, including their elder and teachers. But, it wasn't like that in YR. He doesn't have an air of arrogance because he was the prince, and nor did Eric. And I loved the fact that Simon wasn't that intimidated or impressed by Wilhelm. To him, he's just a normal boy, who looks at you like he wan gobble you up.

Honestly we get to see the difference in Crown Prince Wilhelm and real Wilhelm in the very first scene with both Simon and Wilhelm.

Crown Prince Wilhelm struts into the party with all the BDE in the world out to kill a bitch (August) and all of the energy IMMEDIATELY drops the moment he sees Simon with the “I got a haircut 🥺” lmao

to be completely honest one of my favourite things about the young royals fandom compared to the heartstopper fandom is that there is no obvious favouritism. like with heartstopper there is so much love for kit connor/nick nelson (and that’s amazing kit and nick are amazing) while joe and charlie dont get half the appreciation they deserve. but with young royals both edvin/wilhelm and omar/simon get so so much appreciation (as they fuckin should!!!!) and it’s so refreshing for me
