hi!! how are you? i hope you're doing great. I was wondering if you could give us some tips about building, and decorating? thanks in advance ♥

Hello, I am doing well thank you! 🤍

My first tip would be to get clear on what kind of style of home/community lot you're building. You can even mix styles like modern + beach house or traditional + coastal (my favorite).

Once you picked that out, I suggest thinking of a color palette & vibe for it, for example, I made a mood board for Valerie's future marital home below:

I usually go on pinterest, search for woods (the color & texture I want to use), fabrics, patterns and maybe one or two interior/exterior photos that I can take additional inspiration from.

I don't always do this for my houses but I find that whenever I put in that additional effort, the home turns out exactly how I planned it and I am generally more satisfied with the result.

If you're new to building & decorating, I always suggest attempting to recreate a house/interior you see on the internet or pinterest ( my favorite) to get a feel for the style. Practice does make perfect because I would've never been able to build the homes that I build now at the beginning of this year.

When I was new to it, I also loved watching simlicy’s (with cc) and bojanasims' channels on youtube. I feel like watching how other creators build helps a lot and it shows you where to start.

TLDR: gauging interest for release of a Sims 3 utility mod tool that interacts with pattern .package files to (1) reorganize the pattern category in-game, and/or (2) extracts the icon for better CC organization purposes.

ya girl has been so unhinged lmao — I have been a mini hiatus because I have been reorganizing my Sims 3 Custom Content among other things! In that spree, I converted my pattern .sims3pack files to .package using @ktarsims‘s wonderful pattern hoarder tutorial. I thought changing categories of downloaded patterns to be more consistent and easier to find made a lot of sense — only to be very dissuaded and burnt out when doing it manually for each pattern proved to VERY tedious.

so! me, with my computer science degree thought: this can be automated! and surprisingly, it could! this could not be possible without s3pi, of course, and @chocochipsims‘s Pattern Preset Color Extractor (which @simlicious kindly redistributed a while back). her code interacted with patterns (to extract the preset information) and I thought: if she could do it, so could I! it helped immensely that her code was open-source, meaning I was free to reference from it as I wished!

so, here we are, and I’m wondering: does anyone have interest in using this tool? I’m thinking it might be useful to other CC organizational maniacs like me and maybe even pattern creators — but this is quite a niche use case and it would be very embarrassing to release a tool that no one would use, lol.

Sadly, traditional African themed CC is some of the rarest and hardest content out there (unless it’s Egyptian and Moroccan inspired).

( @25dejulho ) it depends on the save, but usually i start in another simmers save (my faves are ratboysims and simlicys), either build a house or find a shell off the gallery and decorate it myself, make a fam, then make some townies, give them all skills, careers, etc. just so theyre not like- newborns THEN start playing dkfjk its hella overkill and takes hours but thats how i do it 😭😭😭 tbh u dont even gotta do all that, u can just start in the aforementioned saves by other simmers and start ur own sims from scratch dkfjfgkj

hello @sushiikinsss, thank you for your interest in my patterns! I'm glad to hear you want to have every single one 🥰 Do you mean one merged package file containing all my patterns, or just all separate patterns in one download? It's good to know how to merge your CC yourself so you can manage it the way you want. Some may want to merge by category, some by type, some alphabetically or by creator's name. By doing it yourself, you have the most flexibility! You could do a merged package file of my pattern files on your own with either CC magic or s3pe. For s3pe, there is a good tutorial here. For CC magic, you can do a quick search to find tutorials. If you mean an all-in-one-download of all my released pattern sets at once, I would consider that mainly as an option to raise funds for my website and to cover costs related to CC creation. It would most likely be on my patreon as a perk for subscribers. I haven't done that yet because it is a longterm commitment and needs to be updated and maintained. But if this is something that more people would want, I would get on that. I do have an old merged file from 2015 , but that was a one-time thing and does not include newer collections. In the meantime, here is how to make sure you get every pattern that I released: Visit my website and grab all the regular pattern collections from here (26 collections so far) and also the Advent Calendar collections here (3 so far). Then, visit my tumblr exclusive downloads (8 downloads with patterns, if I counted correctly). Finally, there is one exclusive pattern on Simblr.cc. I hope this answers you question, feedback is welcome!

Hiii everyone!

I'm Tiz (she/her) and after years of playing the Sims 3 I've decided to "dip my toes" in the Sims 4. Safe to say I'm addicted.

Now, I easily get bored of saves and feel the need to reset everything and start all over again. So, I've created this page to be able to "keep myself accountable" and help myself and others to find good content 💜

I will be sharing some of my gameplays in the future (thinking of making a youtube channel as well but still too shy for that rip).

I've (for the 5th time) deleted all my CC and Mods folders, which means I am once again in the look out for new stuff and will be sharing them with you.

I'm not a native english speaker, so please excuse some mistakes.

I'm not yet sure what style of gameplay I prefer, so let's start this journey together.

MiraRae Royal Starter Save

Have you always wanted to start a royal save file, but haven’t because you don’t know where to begin? Well, this is the save file for you!

Seven newly established kingdoms have been formed in this world, and they have just discovered each other’s existence. The monarchs of each kingdom recently held a meeting and decided to form an alliance- The Alliance of The Seven Kingdoms. The alliance includes the kingdoms of Windenburg, Willow Creek, Oasis Springs, Komorebi, Sulani, Dakarai, and Brindleton Bay.

But how will these kingdoms coexist? Will they live together in harmony, or will it end in turmoil? It’s up to you to decide the fate of the seven kingdoms.

Things you should know:

All sims and builds are cc free. However, it is recommended to download Nando’s Trip to Egypt mod to fully experience the kingdom of Dakarai, which replaces Strangerville. You can find the mod and its download instructions here.

All original EA townies have been deleted, and new townies have been made to accompany the new noble and royal families. There are 7 royal families, 10 noble families, and 8 commoner households that have been added. All families made for this save file are under “played households” (Only one or two noble families have been made for each kingdom in order to keep future titles available for the other royal family members that are not heirs, monarchs, or consorts.) Plenty of lore has been added for each royal family and some of the other families as well :)

DISCLAIMER: In order to make this save file more compatible for lower-end computers, most of the lots from the worlds being used have been deleted. Some lots have been replaced, but some have been left empty so you have the freedom to do what you please with them. The palaces included in this save file are very large, and the fewer lots you have in the save file, the easier the game will run!

How to Install the Royal Starter Save:

Download save file

Create a back-up folder of your current save files

Copy and paste the files from the Royal Starter Save into your “Saves” folder (Electronic Arts/The Sims 4/Saves)

Open up your game and go to “Load Game” and you’ll see “MiraRae Royal Starter Save” and press “play”

Enjoy!

All packs are used in this save file except for the items listed below. Please note that this save file will still work if you do not have all the packs, some items will just be missing. The sims from any worlds that you do not have will just show up in “Manage Households”.

Hi! I'm starting to get into historical game play for ts3. Besides praaven do you have any worlds you recommend that would be good as a historical setting to play in?

Hi! As you mention Praaven, I assume you're looking for something medieval-ish. (Most other epochs are somewhat underrepresented anyway😶) Here are a few ideas:

Rabenstein populated / empty is a roadless medieval world, which even comes with a matching population. It does require Store- and CC-content though and names and descriptions are in German. In the world-tag of Blacky's Simszoo you can also find a number of empty and/or roadless worlds which might work well as a base if you want to build your own buildings.

An very atmospheric empty nordic world is Oleifsborg by Kennzikaige.

Cotes d' Ambonnay (xSorcier) is a large, very elaborately built world with several regions, but due to the size I'm not sure how well it works in longer gameplay-session. (see also the Forum Thread)

Another German prepopulated word, though not classically medieval is Fantopia. A world I'd love to see a story set in!

I haven't tried the worlds by Sims3Medieval for longer gameplay, but they sure are historical :)

The worlds of Frankensonnet are good bases for build-and-play saves in various epochs.

The Originals Legacy Generation One

Hey guys! I’m really excited to share my gameplay of my own legacy challenge based on the TV show “The Originals” on CW. The Original Rules can be found here.

I decided to play in the Simlicy save file for the first time which was a lot of fun!

This generation is based on the character Kol Mikaelson.

Rules:

“The best people are black sheep.”

You always felt left out by your family. You’ve always felt like a black sheep. Once you were able to leave your family home, you did. You’ve always wanted to experience a life of wildness and of traveling around the world. You spend your young adult years traveling to all of the worlds and falling in love with anyone you meet. After travelling and meeting all of the wonderful people, you find your true love in Glimmerbrook. You’ve never felt like this before and are so excited for this new adventure!

Traits: Adventurous, Romantic, Erratic

Complete the serial romantic aspiration during your young adulthood

No career, make money other ways!

Max charisma and mischief skills.

Travel to each world at least once

Have a relationship with at least one person from each world! (at least good friends)

Capture moments by taking photos of different things and different people – showcase these photos in your home

Write a novel from your adventures from each world.

When traveling to Glimmerbrook, they learn more about witchcraft and they realize how much they enjoy the idea of magic and spellcasters!

Fall in love as an adult with your one true love (has to be a spellcaster)

Have at least 2 kids once an adult

Oh hi! You're not bothering me at all, you're such a sweetheart! 🥺

Well, let's see.

I've been building on sims for years and one thing that was really helpful to me was to search for real houses for sale on Google and copy the exteriors and/or the house plans! The sounds kind of silly but, when you full on copy something, you end up learning new tricks and different ways to do something you already knew. You know? So, if you are starting off from zero, I'd suggest doing that! It's a fun way to get a build that is realistic, too, and will give you a good notion of how to do layouts and where to place doors and windows!

Adding up to this, I usually like to watch house/flat tours and use Pinterest for inspiration. House tours are great because you can see how people actually furnish their homes, it gives you inspo for clutter etc. It's also a nice way to know a bit more of different time periods or countries. For example, for my Japanese save, I watched a shit load of house and apartment tours to make a home for my sims. You also learn a lot while you're at it!

And Pinterst is self explanatory. I like going there to get the aesthetic vibe of something. Making inspo boards is also a good idea :)

Lastly, my biggest tip would be to follow other Simblrs who build and make interiors a lot. It's a great source of inspiration for your own decorating since you can see what you can achieve in your own game. If you search for #sims 4 build or #sims 4 interior you'll find many amazing simmers to check out!

On a similar note, you can also watch some builders on youtube and learn a trick or two from them. I really like Sati Sim, Simlicy, SimplyCoCo, Devon Bumpkin and xFreezerBunnyx's builds!

My final piece of advice is: download the Better BuildBuy Mod an absolute game changer for building with Debug.

And also, you do not have to have a shit load of CC or Mods to make a wonderful house! So only download stuff if you want to, ok? x
