Now I’ve already played signalis and it is very inspired by silent hill 2, in fact signalis probably wouldn’t exist without silent hill 2. So it was really cool playing silent hill 2 both for the experience of playing the game myself and also seeing tons of the ways that it influenced signalis that I hadn’t heard others mention before.

Spoilers for signalis and silent hill 2:

Like in sh2 james is searching for Mary but then he meets Maria who looks very similar to Mary to the point even James gets confused and at the end of the game Maria disguises herself as Mary (or it could also be an illusion James is seeing idk).

This seems like it was probably the inspiration behind alina and ariane in signalis who Elster also gets confused with remembering correctly.

But probably the main thing silent hill 2 has that I feel signalis is missing would be a joke ending cause silent hill 2 has 2 joke endings and their both hilarious the dog ending and the ufo ending and I really wish signalis had a secret joke ending like that cause I think the signalis devs could make something really funny. That would be something I would love from a future signalis update maybe.

For any newcomers to the silent hill series, here’s a pro tip. When playing SH3 feel free to turn off the game immediately when Heather gets home! No need to worry about anything, that’s the end of the game! She got home safe and sound to her dad! Nothing bad happens after that! Forget about Claudia, Vincent, and Douglas! They aren’t important. She’s home. The game definitely wasn’t shorter than the other games. The credits roll right after that just trust me on it :)

I've been rewatching silent hill (I watch playthroughs of games rather than playing them myself 😭) I absolutely will forever love how harry went through everything to get cheryl back even though she isnt technically his kid (by blood).

As someone who loves Japanese horror games, don’t know how I feel about Silent Hill f’s setting. Nothing wrong with it of course, there’s just...so many Japanese horror games involving going through empty Japanese towns/cities.

Finished silent hill 2 last night and while it is an amazing game I got the in water ending and I couldn’t help but laugh at the sad ending with the final line “James you made me happy and then cutting to:

“Epic guitar solo”

Dude, I'm SO SORRY for releasing cursed Knowledge about the SH Movies. So to make up for it, I'll give you something wholesome. Heather Really really loves her Dad, so much so that she'll Face off a huge Cult and a False [RETRACTED] in order to advenge him. A lot of ppl like to say that Heather is full of hate and spite, but do to the story in 3 I don't think that's it. Heather is actually full of Love and Sorrow for losing someone so Dear to her. So yeah, she's pissed, but she carries Love above all inside of her. No matter what the Cult did, Harry has raised Heather with so much Love that she, herself, still harbors such an emotion within her. Harry loved his Daughter and Heather loves her Dad

I mean hate and spite aren't necessarily the opposite of carrying love. Hating someone on behalf of someone you love can be one of the most loving acts humanly possibly. I'm very glad they got the time they did--they deserve some canon AUs where she can save or revive him though :'-) I feel like they earned it.
