🌸 0 Days Left Until Ritsu Falls in Love Confirmed for Emerald Spring Issue - Releasing April 30th, 2024 🌸

The real life Emerald, the magazine Sekaiichi Hatsukoi has been serialized in since August 2014, announced the news via their official TikTok account.

🌸 What IS Confirmed 🌸

As of yesterday, we now know Emerald’s next issue release date is April 30th, 2024 as stated above. This was far earlier than the average Emerald release date announcement, as it’s usually another month of waiting for any such info.

The phrasing of the video above pulls from the countdown boxes often found at the end of Onodera Ritsu no Baai chapters, with a few exclusions. It roughly translates to “Finally, there are 0 days left until falling in love.”

This confirms at least one Onodera Ritsu no Baai chapter in the upcoming Emerald.

⚠️ What is NOT Confirmed ⚠️

Weirdly enough it doesn’t confirm a confession, that’s always been a long standing assumption, but there’s a nonzero chance it doesn’t happen.

That the series is ending any time soon. I’ll write more on this below under the cut because it turns into a whole rant.

I will make additional posts as further information comes out leading up to April 30th, such as the full, digitized magazine cover, content updates, and links to purchase this Emerald. Support the official release when possible!

I don’t know where this misconception of Day 0 = the Series Ending started years and years ago, but nowhere in this announcement did it say the series is ending. There would be more than five separate unresolved plot threads that would be left open with Takano and Ritsu if their story got cut here. That’s ignoring anything going on with the other four couples. A good ammount of these threads were just opened in the past three or four years of what will be 18 years of serialization this year. I just don’t see it as a valid argument. Any time a series has ended in Emerald, where SiH is currently serialized, they announce such over a month in advance. I will update this post if such comes to pass and I’m wrong, but I’m highly doubtful I’ll have to.

From April 26th to April 28th, we will be holding a Takaritsu-centric event to celebrate the long-awaited Day 0 of Ritsu's love countdown!

On April 30th, the real-life Emerald magazine will release its 2024 Spring issue, which has been revealed to include a 68-page chapter of Sekaiichi Hatsukoi in which Ritsu's love countdown will hit zero days! To celebrate, we will be holding a three day long event a few days ahead of the magazine's release!

I always urge people to read the Yokozawa novels for many reasons, but one of my favorites is that if you saw Yokozawa's behavior SIH S1, you need to see the comedic genius that is him just cooling his head off and being like "Damn I don't even like Takano like that :/"

Listen, I have to appreciate the episode where Takano is sick- Yokozawa and Onodera are fighting in the hallway. He tells them both off and tells them to go home but at the same time, he still gently asks Onodera if he's okay, despite having heard the man's outburst. Because he knew Yokozawa was being too much and also he had a much worse outburst as a teen and Onodera kept coming back.

So then, what was he going to do? Take that outburst at face value? No.

For how messed up these two weirdos (derogatory, affectionate) are, that was remarkably sweet of Takano to do.

I hate them both ❤️❤️
