I just wanted to say firstly, that whenever I see your posts on tumblr they make me feel really appreciative of humans like yourself. You seem very genuine and sweet. I think I might have seen something about you struggling overall with mental illness (depression/anxiety) and wanted to know some things you do to try to at least momentarily bring yourself out of it. If only for a moment. I have crippling depression and have found reading and writing help me a lot. Thank you

yeah, i have both major depression and generalized anxiety (as well as an eating disorder)
things i do to pull myself out of depression? 
go outside. fresh air really is refreshing and energizing
go for a walk. even if its through the mall. and make it brisk- get your heart rate up. even little amounts of exercise can be so helpful mentally!
stay hydrated and eat food! having experience with both undereating due to anxiety/depression, as well as undereating due to anorexia, undereating made me so so so much more depressed. and as soon as i started eating healthy again, my mood went way up. being hangry is a real thing! you’re not yourself when you’re hungry.
distractions. this is a great in the moment coping skill. play a video game, or an online game, crosswords, other mindful games, youtube, have a dance party alone, etc etc.
