komaeda and ouma have similar roles in the story but they differ in that komaeda can come across as a normal person as long as you don't ask him too many questions about The Grind. however ouma has normal wants and desires but if he tries to communicate any of that in a mature conversation he'll break out in rashes

There is Something about Nagito's voice that is just SO MESMERIZING. I fucking love doing it despite it killing my throat and my friend (who I'm playing dr2 with right now) started to try and do it too, and then a THIRD friend who is completely uninvolved JOINED IN AND STARTED TRYING TO DO IT TOO. Mimicking his poses to try and get a better feel for him all three of us trying our best, it was hysterical

Tsumugi is a lot like Nagito to me in a way, where her character is just better and more interesting with the context of the previous game(s). Like, She's trying so hard to be Junko but she just isn't her. She's not this ultimate, almost mythological mastermind, she's just a copycat. The way the killing game just entirely spins out of her control from a very early point in the game I think is reflective of the institution of these repeated Real Fiction killing games breaking down too. Junko is the cornerstone of these games and Junko isn't there.
Like, I have this very vivid picture of Tsumugi in Danganronpa 52 with Rantaro, making it to the very end with him and yet in her paranoia and desire for control choosing to join Team DR instead of protest with him. And in a complex way both enjoying and hating her new role. She knows what she's doing is bad and the guilt is there deep inside, but she's convinced herself that she has to like it. and as a lover of fiction, she really does! But she was never meant for this job. She was a participant, too, before. And she can't forget that. The line between what's real and what's fiction (is she real? is she fiction?) was blurry for her as well, at least at first.
And that's part of why the game falls apart, I think. It's built on a failing system and Tsumugi's own unstable sense of identity.
