Ya Rab. There's something inside me that scares me. It consumes me. My nafs overtakes me. And I fail you. Again and again. I feel so lonely, Ya Allah, only you know. Only you know my every thought, every saddness, every pain. All my darkness. You see it, only you understand me. Only you. Ya Rab save me from my darkness.

‎يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ كُتِبَ عَلَيْكُمُ ٱلصِّيَامُ كَمَا كُتِبَ عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَتَّقُونَ

"O believers! Fasting is prescribed for you—as it was for those before you—so perhaps you will become mindful (of Allah)." (2:183)

Ramadan is finally upon us, Alhamdulilah 🌙

May Allah accept our fasts and grant us good health, and allow us to get closer to Him during this blessed month, ameen. Just a gentle reminder that Ramadan isn’t only about abstaining from food and drinks, but is also an opportunity for personal reformation. To set good habits & eliminate bad ones, and to focus on ibaadah, increasing our good deeds, and instilling taqwa in our lives. We have 30 days filled with blessings, let us not waste them, inshallah.

Let us also remember the less fortunate and the oppressed throughout this month. Especially the Palestinians right now. isr*eli violence against them always increases during Ramadan, and unfortunately this year will the same, if not worse. May Allah protect the Palestinians, facilitate their return, and humiliate their oppressors. Ameen 🤲🏼🇵🇸

🌟 Allah says: ❛If you are grateful, I will increase you.❜ [Surah Ibrahim 14 : 7]

Allah ta'ala does not limit the capacity of what the increase will be. He subhanahu wa ta'ala did not say if we’re grateful, then He will increase us in imaan, or wealth, or health. Allah left it unlimited, and one of the reasons is perhaps because the potential of being a truly grateful ‘abd is almost unlimited. The greatest example of all is Rasulullah salla Allahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, who used to pray so much that his feet would become swollen. When asked as to why he prayed so much, he ﷺ said:

🌟 ❛Shall I not be a thankful servant?❜ [Sahih al-Bukhari 6471]

Rasulullah ﷺ could stand up and pray at night, after night, after night, standing longer than anybody else, that others couldn't do, because he ﷺ was truly grateful to Allah ta'ala.

When was the last time we contemplated our blessings and thanked Allah?

We need to constantly ask ourselves: What am I grateful for? Because there are so many things to be thankful for: Our imaan, our family, our halaal job, the food in our fridge, the car that runs well, the roof over our heads, and so much more. Because if we don’t do that, then we will feel miserable, always unhappy, always complaining, always depleted, always going to be bitter — even if Allah gives us everything.

May Allah help us to remember Him, to be grateful to Him, and to worship Him in an excellent manner.
