#shout out to Isa for forcing YWB on me like 4 years ago I'm p sure it's embedded itself in my brain at this point
Note
5, 6, 8, and 40 for the music asks! -River
I am limiting myself to 3 options max for some of these bc fuck you I am Very Indecisive and also I ramble a lot so it's kinda long but anywAY-
5 (a song with sick drums): This was actually kinda hard for me bc I don't really pay attention to the drums in songs a lot whoops. But anyway- I really really like You're Gonna Go Far Kid by Offspring bc of the way the drums just drive the piece forward and maintain the momentum its going for. Drums that do that are some of my favourite kinds of drums >:D
6 (a song whose bridge takes you out): YOU MEAN I GOTTA PICK?? FUCK. OK. Ok ok ok so first, You Will Believe, specifically the version by CG5 and DAGames has a bridge that just. its just so GOOD it's so eerie and spooky (and if you know me you know I can't resist a slow building crescendo in a minor key. I just can't.). Also,,,yeah no The Fall by Lovejoy it just. Listen. Listen I know it's the popular favourite but it's SO GOOD and YES THE BRIDGE IS MY FAVOURITE PART ok LEAVE ME ALONE- And last but not least I'm just gonna put Lone Digger by Caravan Palace here. And I'll just. Leave it at that.
7 (a song you love in a time signature that isn't 4/4): Thunderbird by C418! I am,,,90% sure it's in 6/8? (Which tbh? Best complex time signature imo I really enjoy it) But either way the song is REALLY good. You might sit there and think "13 minutes seems really long for one song,,," but you are incorrect it is a perfectly reasonable length especially for this one specifically.
8 (a song with a killer bass line): C418 FIGURE 8 HANDS DOWN. It was the first song I heard from Excursions and it’s still one of my favs! And now that I'm thinking about it actually everyone should just go and listen to all of Excursions. Do it. It's C418 I promise you will not be disappointed.
40 (a song you just really wanna talk about): OHOHO OH BOY. Well. First of all I need to yell about one of my favourite WTNV Weathers: Absentee by Jack Campbell. I've always had a soft spot for songs that go for this sort of almost casual, laidback energy and I think this one is my favourite example (also it just so happens to be another contender for "bridge that takes me out" what a surprise). I also wanna shout out Life Itself by Glass Animals for being a song I can listen to on repeat and not get tired of! That's when you know it's Good good. And now I am going to Stop because I do not want to make this any longer KJLGKHJ
