finally watching shooting dogs send prayers

I love how this was just a little theater performance for soukoku. Dazai’s dramatic acting once he “realized” Chuuya was there. Chuuya’s vampire noises. Dazai’s overdramatic speech about memories… the long pause before the cheerfully fake goodbye. Dazai’s annoyed look when Fyodor was talking shit about his and chuuya’s bond (he probably felt so smug on the inside). Dazai’s other speech about the power of friendship and their fate that was completely unnecessary because he knew that Chuuya wasn’t actually possessed. Chuuya fake shooting Dazai in the head, which they have extensively trained for in the past. Their commitment to the bit is everything

bringing up these two panels again (because i love them) but it seems like dazai was genuinely surprised and angry at chuuya shooting him. so what if dazai did have a plan but chuuya is acting outside of his predictions??

the fact that chuuya actually responded to dazai’s taunts in vampire form…

btw i love revenge stories i dont think anyone should ever move on peacefully. a bit obsessed with the way weissman went to the synagogue and rabbi and asks, "my choices killed a child. would god take mercy on someone like me?" and the rabbi says "it's not god's mercy you should look for. its the child's" and like you think that would spur this man into charitable activities and to maybe look out for orphans but instead he goes on a 24 hour revenge bender that ultimately ends in two revenge killings and his own death. what's better than righteous anger and wrath and love twisting someone into the worst but also a truer version of themselves <3

Taking it as canon that Chuuya listened through one of Dazai's gayass speeches and when a second one came rolling in, decided to shut him up with a bullet instead of being subjected to his dramatics again 😭

It's the "that's what makes me love you!"/"ew no" moment in the fifteen novel all over again

I feel like we deserve a “Dazai, Chuuya, age Seventeen” light novel as compensation for everything that happened during Meursault.
