Hey Gray, I have decided to review and ask about the main characters from your KFP fanfiction series...the three former villains, aka the Trinity. The second one would be...Lord Shen!
1. I love the idea of giving Shen a family. Since there aren't a lot of fanfics that has him having a family. What inspired you to do it?
2. The family of Shen, Xia, and Lao(Dongji)was beautiful. And I have some questions about them...
-When did Shen and Lady Xia meet? Before Shen's banishment or after? Did Xia know about Shen's banishment? If she did, then how did she think about it?
-How did Shen and Xia get to know about each other before marriage?
-How did Shen react to having Lao? was he proud and happy? surprised? nervous and worried? how was he to Lao before their separation? a warm and loving father? a strict one?
Alright, that would do for our peacock lord! I hope you would kindly reply this one too!
Okay! My thousand apologies for not answering your questions for weeks now! (Real-life starts being a pain.) Now, I'll start off with one known villain most of the fandom loves (remember he's evil)!
1. I don't think either fanfics I know so far have Shen giving a family of his own, so I made his challenging aspect to hinder his plotting progression and the claims of gathering the mixtures of gunpowder and metal. Despite being a single-minded maniac to concentrate on his retaliation, Shen had his secondary objective to keep his family legacy going, regarding his father and mother propose him to marry a princess during his youth age, but otherwise. . . he denied to wed because of his ambition, Shen craved to achieve for. Until then. . .
Finding a new home for himself and his army was no easy task, banished across the northern plains before the tundra. Arriving there to the village where a place accepts people without homes (little did not the community know of Shen's crime at that time) had his unexpected cross path from another, meeting the outcast, like Shen.
Rather multitasking on his ambition, simply by doing what his parents recommended him for the continuation of their bloodline, he started an acquaintance with her.
2. Shen met Xia after his banishment, months of strolling to where he and his army were sent away. Despite the issues of him not wanting to go back home, having plans to conquer, Shen kept his dark secret from her. Little did Xia know him that he "left" Gongmen City to find himself a new home; she had the related experience of bitter relationship from one of her family members. Unrelated to Shen's banishment, she was forced to leave after her father's death, regarding her uncle becoming the next heir instead of her. (Uncle, you dumbass.)
Her discovery soon to reveal Shen's crime that early would have turned tables at him. During their time at peace, as they raised Dongji, and as for Shen secretly plotting to invest and craft weapons (stealing metal including), Xia's revelation only came to her when she found a message from Shen's parents.
3. Shen's reaction having his child did slow his "plotting" progression, but did his tries to spend more time with Dongji. His own father (Lord Feng) regrets not giving Shen's attention longer than he deserves, and what Shen could do to Dongji was allowing his time to be with his son. Being a father wasn't exactly his type, but he accepted to raise Dongji how Lord Feng treated Shen well. I would say Shen doing his best to entertain Dongji was quite warm at first but stubborn.
While gradually loving his son more, Shen was going to admit his resignation for the sake of his own family; Shen would have wanted his parents to be proud of him. His parenthood went downhill when the assassination attempt occurred - the raid at Shen's home after Xia's discovery of her husband's crimes.
Lady Xia and her son Prince Dongji fled their home from Shen. Now entitled the inheritance as the new heir after his parents' demises, the Lord of Gongmen, letting his family go from himself poisoning their minds, returns to his conquest scheme. And the rest becomes history. . .
That's all I can answer for the genocidal maniac, Righteous Flames!
And now, for our final mention, who will be introduced for another review for my favorite anti-hero / villain character!
The Supreme Warlord of all China will be summoned soon.

Fics where Bingge gets his own Shen Yuan are always a delight, but I do wish more of them let Shen Yuan dote on Bingge’s children!
I’d love a story where Shen Yuan somehow ended up in the role of ‘Head Imperial Tutor’ and became the children’s beloved teacher and fiercest protector.
Whatever harem drama, rebellions, or other nonsense is going on, he observes with only mild interest (plus much internal eye rolling, and maybe a little gushing over Binghe) but if anyone dares target his students he utterly destroys them.
Sometime after the Bingge vs. Bingmei extra (perhaps after Shen Yuan eliminates some threat to the children), Binghe actually notices Shen Yuan and just how closely his behavior mirrors the nice Shizun.
He’s a very gentle and attentive teacher, tailoring lessons to each child’s learning style, comforting them when the drama between their mothers causes them distress, and freely granting affectionate head pats and light fan bops.
Binghe fighting with his own kids for attention from his world’s kind Shizun, while juggling with Shen Yuan’s obliviousness, and the fact he must be careful never to seriously upset the kids (or he will face Shen Yuan’s wrath), just has so much comedy and cuteness potential!
In the end, Bingge not only falls for Shen Yuan, but comes to more fully love and care for his own kiddos too.

I usually write Airplane Bro as having had a bad relationship with Shang Qinghua's birth family, but it's also funny to imagine a scenario where they're actually really nice people and that he likes them a lot. The Transmigration System forced him to leave a cushy family situation behind in order to go to Cang Qiong and become a cultivator, and his parents were sad but supportive!
This means that somewhere in the Post-Canon of SVSSS, Shang Qinghua can offhandedly mention to Shen Qingqiu: "Oh, cool, I got a letter from my father. My parents are coming to visit." And Shen Qingqiu can go: "WHAT."
And Shang Qinghua later has to introduce Mobei-Jun to his totally normie second birth parents, who are doing their best to be accepting, and aren't even freaking out about the demon thing because Shang Qinghua has been keeping them updated on his life the entire time while also lying a LOT by omission. "Oh, he was always a strange child, we didn't know what to think at first, but he's sent us so many nice gifts since becoming the An Ding Peak Lord! Except for that time that he had to go work in the Demon Realm for a little while for some important diplomatic reason? We're very proud of him for his bravery!" Shang Qinghua's mother says, while Shen Qingqiu is trying really hard not to shatter a teacup with his bare hands.

Shen Jiu! Parenting!! Ning Yingying!!!
———
“Hi baby.” Shen Qingqiu cooed at the infant. He was a bit embarrassed at how easily he melted around Yingying, but she was his daughter, and he figured he was allowed.
This time, however, he’d forgotten where he was. In the middle of a peak lord meeting, surrounded by wide-eyed, incredulous stares.
“Do you think he realizes we’re here?” Wei Qingwei mused loudly, wincing at a kick he got from one of his martial brothers.
“Shut up! Do you want him to?”
Qi Qingqi was usually never speechless, but today, it seemed she did not have any sour words in her for Shen Qingqiu, who she always passionately loathed. Her mouth was catching flies.
Most others seemed to feel the same. Liu Qingge sat frozen in his seat, staring. Yue Qingyuan seemed startled and…oddly wistful.
Shen Qingqiu was in his own little world. “Oh my goodness, you’re so chubby…” he lightly pinched at Ning Yingying’s little cheeks and gasping in delight when she let out a little squeal of delight.
“This has to be a hallucination,” Mu Qingfang muttered to himself, eyes wide. “Were we poisoned?”
Ning Yingying caught her adoptive father’s finger in her tiny fist and shoved it in her mouth, drooling happily all over it. Shen Qingqiu just laughed.
Meanwhile, a certain Shang Qinghua sat in his chair with his head in his hands as he mourned the death of the canon universe.

i really don't know how to feel about fics/aus where it turns out that sj's treatment of lbh is his own fault because he didn't speak up about issues with other disciples, genuinely misbehaved etc and also later (as bingge) lied about how much he actually got punished and in truth it wasn't any more than any other disciple, and that sj didn't know about the fake manual, when all of this is explicitly against canon.
yqy adresses this when sy wakes up, telling sqq to stop being so mean to lbh. in the sj extra, he himself says that lbh should have died a long time ago bleeding from the seven apertures due to the fake manual. sy says that pidw explicitly states that lbh was punished WAAAY more than any other disciple, and in those conditions obviously noone would tell their teacher about being bullied??
idk i understand altering canon for the sake of telling a story but... somehow it feels like a disservice to sj's character to ignore canon and water him down for the sake of making his redemption easier. and villifying lbh, which is what these fics inevitably end up doing, is also messed up - he was around 11 when he joined cqm. that's a CHILD. no matter how you look at it, sqq's "treatment" of lbh is neglect at best, horrible abuse at worst, and in modern times it would put him in jail faster than you could blink. giving him a realistic redemption arc is difficult, if not impossible, but if you truly love him with all his flaws and faults, isn't it worth the effort?
