Hi! I’m here suffering from lack of good Archivist!Sasha content as well 😭 On that note, do you have any fic on that topic you would recommend? Or just good Sasha fics in general, (or Jonsasha, if that’s your cup of tea)? Thank you in advance 😊
Tragically, I think there is a general dearth of good Archivist!Sasha content (and just about none of it Jonsasha content, as far as I can tell (and not only is Jonsasha my cup of tea, but the ONLY thing standing between it and the #1 OTP spot (currently occupied by JE) is the fact that the Jonsasha that I desperately crave exists in my brain and nowhere else)). Admittedly, I haven't looked very far into her tag yet (I should rectify that at some point tbh) but I've dug around the Jonsasha tag when I first got into it, and I know at least one fic where Sasha drifts towards Beholding through an interest in office gossip.
In terms of Jonsasha Ao3 has:
This very good Sasha lives fic where Jon shows up to Georgie's with an unconscious Sasha and everyone involved is very confused.
These two fics are cute also. The former is by @/suttttton and is them getting together, the latter is established Jonsasha from @/dickwheelie.
Eyevatar Sasha might actually be thinner on the ground (outside of fix-its where she solves everything and her canon reckless curiosity is completely ignored). Ao3 has:
This fic, which is Jongerry with outsider PoV Sasha. Just barely has the implication that she might be shifting towards the Eye (via prying into the lives of her coworkers) but gets a mention through sheer force of Excellent Sasha Characterization. I read this and I feel like I'm reading a fic from a Sasha Understander.
There's also this fic, which looks very promising but which I haven't actually gotten the chance to read yet, so I can't speak to its quality.
Unfortunately I've only gotten into Sasha fairly recently (especially as compared to Jon, who my brain latched onto in a deathgrip from the start), so I haven't gone through her tag yet. A scroll through the Archivist!Sasha or Beholding Avatar!Sasha tags pulls up a lot of fix-it and J//mart, which isn't really what I'm looking for from the concept. I'm sure there's more out there, and if/when I find them I'll come back to this ask probably, but I lucked into Reverse Nighthawks (I was on a Jongerry kick).
But god every day I wish that I could write romance and/or longfic, because about a year ago I read a Jonmichael fic that, when discussing alternate universes (where Jon ended the world) it's revealed that he once did an apocalypse out of love for his Archivist, Sasha James. And it was one (1) single line, but it struck me so hard because god. A perfect concept I think. The potential dynamics of Archivist!Sasha/Assistant!Jon are enthralling to me. Jon destroying the world (or helping her destroy the world? Cute date night I think: bringing about armageddon with your eldritch monster partner) for Sasha... anyway mostly I mentioned that one because My God if I have to live with that tantalizing AU rotating in the background of my mind 24/7 so do the rest of you.
#also I'm very sorry how much this was About Jon#I really /do/ love sasha it's just that jon lives in my brain literally all the time#I am incapable of making a single solitary tma post that is not like 50% about him#not a Single One#every character and relationship and dynamic must somehow include jon to interest me. I want her to have extremely difficult and complicated feelings about leaving the institute. about being#an eyevatar also. I think she didn't get enough screentime to say a lot for certain but she has enough interesting and complex things in he#brain that she could offer an interesting perspective if she survived or was the archivist. I also think she and martin should've switched#places. sorry martinlikers but she had more stuff going for her and also her perspective would be unique and interesting instead of yet#another 'the Eye is Bad.' that's actually the jonsasha thing I like the most. reading her statement and there's so many parallels between#her and jon. Just today, Little Miss has-
Held her own bottle (she started to months ago and then we accidentally discouraged it and she hasn't really tried since)
Jumped!!
FED HERSELF WITH A FORK!!!!!
She hasn't really been allowed to use utensils because she just uses them to fling food or teethes on them, completely distracting her from eating until it's taken away, at which point she's too distraught to eat. We try again every couple of weeks, hoping she'll actually use them properly.
Now, I knew I couldn't expect her to just. know how to use them without playing with them the wrong way a ton first. I knew I was setting her up for failure, but I couldn't handle the flinging and fighting. I figured she'd just be really late in learning to eat with utensils.
But then she fucking suddenly knew how to use the damn thing without playing with it! Well, much, anyway. And she's not good at it. She tilts the fork on it's way to her mouth and drops the food most of the time. But she clearly understands the fork's purpose and vaguely how to use it! With very little experience!

#wren rambles#doctor who#this brought on by me watching orphan 55#which had SUCH a fun concept#and then absolutely FACEPLANTED with the doctor moralizing at the end#like yes doctor who has ALWAYS explored topical and political issues#but never is there a definitive I Am Telling You This Is Right message#whereas now I just had to sit here and watch 13 preaching at me?#ughghg#explore the idea but don't shove it down my throat#classic who had an episode (Ice Warriors) exploring climate change as one aspect of the story#talking about how all the plants were removed and that messed with the atmosphere etc.#but that was just a SMALL PART of the whole episode and it was never outright condemned (it was made clear it was BAD and the root problems#but that was never the BIG ISSUE the Doctor Lectured His Companions about) (not that victoria or jamie could do anything lol)#plus this feeds into my issues with 13's run (which started during 12's somewhat but less so)#where the Doctor is painted as the Narratively Right one#where when she says something that's what the narrative wants you to BELIEVE#which coming from Two and Three's run is WILD#because Two is chaotic and murderous when he thinks he's right#and he's manipulative and deceptive at times#and Three is selfish and pouty and rude#and don't get me wrong Thirteen has her issues and I lvoe them#HOWEVER. she's pretty much always RIGHT she's the Word Of God when it comes to moral things#and this more than anything is my biggest issues with Modern Who#mostly 12 and 13's eras#so i hope we move out of that somewhat in the new era but i'm not super holding up hopes (especially after star beast)#maybe one day i'll write a proper full article about it but GOSH#i don't watch this show to be preached at. I watch it for a fun/tragic scifi romp and also to see interesting ideas explored#and reflect the climate of the world and how society influences media#explore the idea of climate change turning the world into a post apocalypse! that's such a fun idea and topical!

If this season turns into a steam roll I’ll be kinda bummed. It’s only week 3 so I’m not too worried about it right now but I don’t know… last week was kinda meh.. and this week so far is fine but it’s not that exciting. Like with week one it was messy as hell but fun to watch and a little easier to keep up with but now it’s like.. okay Cirie, Izzy, and Felicia are gonna flip a few times before they decide who they want the house to vote out then that person goes home.
It’s interesting that the entire house kinda rolled over and decided to just do what the three of them want because they aren’t thinking that far ahead. Right now the other side could rally the numbers and make this an actual split house. But I genuinely don’t see that happening any time soon. This Red/Cory/Cameron thing would be interesting if I cared about Red’s game or Cameron at all. The only people that genuinely could build up an opposing side would be America, MeMe, & Cory. By the time the do it I doubt they’ll have the numbers though.
It’s just very much starting to feel like a drag race season where you know who’s gonna win from the jump. BUT I will say I’m glad that the people running the house are two black women and a queer woman and the men they’re working with are extremely loyal to them (Hisam aside.) If it’s gonna be a steam roll I’d gladly have it be people that rarely are in a position to do so. At the end of this we might have our 3rd black winner in a row and our second black woman winner in a row.
#I’m also just.. idk by week 3 I’ve picked someone to root for or have written the entire cast off#I’m rooting for hisam but I just know his ass is going this week#Izzy too but I don’t see a way that she wins over Cirie and Felicia in the end#I have a feeling Cirie is taking Jared 👀 or Felicia to final 2#this is a steamroll and it’s just#there are upsides and downsides#idk#I’m just a lil bored which is fully on me#I haven’t had the motivation to open feeds in a minute and i pretty much only watch eviction episodes#I also don’t wanna be That Guy™️ in the tag that’s like ‘THIS SEASON IS BORING’ when everyone else is having fun so 😬#bb25
