Something fanon gets wrong
Dick Grayson is genuinely one of the greatest fighters in all of DC.
I know people have trouble believing this for some reason but a man who has defeated every single one of his enemies, other people’s enemies, and has consistently come out on top should have his abilities talked about a bit more because they’re amazing.
Let's start small to big. Firstly Donna talks about Nightwing's abilities.
Tumblr media
When I read this I was confused by what she meant. Prowess means skill or expertise and that makes sense but Dick has a lot of power behind him though...
Tumblr media
And then I realized she meant metaphysical power.
Dick isn't a magician. He can't run at supersonic speeds, throw buildings, speak to animals, communicate with the dark, fly above the clouds, bounce bullets off his chest (Oh, wait. He can do it off his ass instead never mind), turn into animals, or other amazing abilities. But his skill is so high that he is easily able to keep up with people who can.
Tumblr media
M'gann, the white martian with extraordinary capabilities, tells Dick, "You are just a human, with no superpowers, yet you have consistently excelled throughout your career, despite being surrounded by godlike beings."
This is incredible.
We see Dick leading teams of superheroes and metas all the time and we take it for granted but we never acknowledge the immense power and skill he must have for him to be able to do this.
Repeatedly. Time after time. He outsmarts both his human allies and outfights his meta ones.
One of Dick’s greatest OP moments is when he takes down the entire Titans team -Gar, Raven, Donna, and Jason too when he hung around with them- single handedly. And when Jason put a gun to the back of his head in supposed victory, Dick opened his hand to let the golden bullets fall, gleaming in the light with the coldest line, “with these bullets?”
We all know how amazing Bruce is, but Dick is on Bruce's level.
No?
Okay, here's the evidence.
Dick has fought Azael in a sword fight to a standstill when Azael has beaten Bruce separately and Tim and Jason combined.
He has defeated Ra's in a sword fight and Ra's is one of the greatest swordsmen.
Sometimes he doesn't even need a sword to defeat a skilled swordsman.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
He's a League of Assassins member and we all know that anyone from the League of Assassins is never just good. They're excellent. The entire fight Dick is looking for Blockbuster and he's so capable and good at fighting the entire scene was like watching Thanos flick Captain America away vibes. He's not even looking at him when he smashes his foot into Shrike's face!
Most importantly, he has defeated Deathstroke
The greatest thing about Dick is he is able to defeat Slade at the peak of Slade's abilities. Slade doesn't need to be weakened for Dick to win.
Here's where people has some hesitance accepting Dick's abilities.
"Bruce has defeated Slade but Dick has never been able to!"
He literally has in Dark Crisis but I'll give you the lead up.
Dick can easily disarm Slade.
Tumblr media
He can predict Slade's moves ahead of time and properly counteract them.
He can go toe to toe with him and in one comic, they dance down a hallway, fighting, neither able to get the upper hand. The mercenary meta, considered by the US Government to be 1 of 2 greatest assassins (the other being Katana) isn't able to pin down and defeat a 20 year old despite his enhancements.
I left out the scene where Dick twisting Deathstroke's arm and smashing his face into a bedroom mirror despite being complete weaponless and in his civilian identity. No protection and no support. But it's another example of how Dick's poweress is much greater than people expect of him.
Of course there are panels where Dick has been defeated by Slade but Dick isn't 17/18 anymore. He isn't learning to fight without Batman hovering over his side.
Also there is a panel everyone references to when talking about Nigthwing losing to Deathstroke. This one.
Tumblr media
sure. okay. whatever. BUT WHY WON'T YOU SHOW WHAT HAPPENS NEXT COWARDS?!?
Tumblr media
THEY DANCE-FIGHT LIKE THEY'RE ENEMIES IN A BALLROOM ON OPPOSING SIDES BUT CAN'T AFFORD TO LET ANYONE FIND OUT.
THIS IS SOME HIGH LEVEL JAMES BOND-RED NOTICE-MISSION IMPOSSIBLE- TYPE SHIT.
Tumblr media
"Close the hold, you morons! Close the--Guuk!"
That's Slade talking by the way. To his allies. Who do you think made him "GUUK!"?
Tumblr media
And here they were evenly matched.
Tumblr media
But Slade had to pull out bombs he had been saving for when other people came in order to defeat dICK AND HE STILL LOST BECAUSE DICK BESTED HIM.
Yup. Dick is just that good.
Nightwing defeated Bane
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Before you go into saying something like "it was a holographic construction." What the fuck difference does that make? Does a holographic construction alter the strength used by the enemy, change their fighting style, phase through when fighting, act dumber than the real deal? No, right? The fact is Dick broke Bane's back the exact same manner that Bane broke Batman's. All those scenes of Bane punching Nightwing around? Let me remind you that the guy snuck up on Dick. The second time Dick underestimated Bane's powers before getting ready to put in real effort before Batman interfered to take Bane for himself.
All those amazing scenes of him defeating enemies that we've scoffed at recently? They're just a continuation of what already is written. It's not new or unbelievable, it's expected.
Here's my final point. Dick has defeated all of the Justice League's enemies in one go.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is Batman/Superman comic where Kara gets infected so Dick as Batman sends her to the medbay while he tears down the Watchtower to save her. As in every single defense mechanism the Watchtower has, he demolishes it with his pure skill and abilities. Furthermore, the Watchtower defenses were enhanced by cyborg Superman to be lethal. To kill on sight.
Just. Phenomenal.
Tumblr media
He did it! He defeated all of them and made it to the electronic controls he was aiming for.
Another thing I want to point is Dick's strength is greater than what people assume it to be.
He's the world's greatest acrobrat and has a build fitting of that but the strength he packs in his body is equal to that of a meta. Maybe it's because of how he only fights with metas and has teammates that are all metas but he has raised his striking power to equal that.
Tumblr media
He shatters cyborg superman in one blow.
He can handle blows from meta humans in a way most others can't which suggests to me that he must've done some kind of training or have maybe increased pain tolerance or have the ability to backseat the pain so it won't affect his fighting. How many can take a hit and rise up the next second?
He's not metahuman. Batman must've done several tests because he also was amazed by robin Dick's poweress lol but really Dick is just extraordinary. Give him any enemy and he will garaunteed defeat them without using cheap tricks or surprise moves which is why he is one of the greatest. The only time people have gotten an upperhand on him is when he has been emotionally weakened. Emotionally. Imagine the absolute monster he would be if he controlled his emotions like Batman.
But I would never want him to though because his emotions are the reason why he's the light of DC.

more clone^2 thoughts
you know who i just remembered ALSO has long hair? Vlad. Vlad Masters. Danny's worst enemy and biggest pain in the ass ever since he sent those vulture ghosts after his fucking dAD. Danny having long hair would make Vlad so inSUFFERABLE. Like look!! Proof that you are much better off as MY son. We have matching hair lengths! Come be my son! I will make you a halfa like me and we will become powerful allies together!
Danny almost chops it off out of spite. He ends up not doing it because he likes his hair long, actually, very much so and he's not growing it out again just because you're crazy! He's attempted to take a pair of scissors to Vlad's hair though -- THAT was a fight that got ugly. Danny's go-to threat whenever he sees him after that is that he's going to chop off vlad's hair when he's not looking - just you watch, Masters. He'll do it. HE'LL DO IT.
And if Danny wasn't keeping it a tight secret, he'd turn around and taunt Vlad about being a) a clone and b) a clone of BRUCE WAYNE. he'd say stuff like:
"How's it feel knowing my parents cloned a man richer than you"
"you're just mad that bruce wayne is more my dad than you'll ever be!"
"it could've been you that my parents accidentally cloned instead of Wayne, but instead you fucked off for twenty years instead!"
but also its a constant question Danny asks himself how he and no one else ever figured it out sooner that he was a clone. He doesn't understand how Vlad of all people didn't realize it when he went to college with the man with his parents and was also stinking rich, before remembering that he doubts Vlad remembers anyone who wasn't his parents in college, and has been a rich, recluse loser this entire time.
its a good thing though, danny's pretty sure vlad would attempt a hit on the man if he found out out of pure jealousy and indignant rage. And then he'd get his ass beat by Batman and his army of children.
All in all, Dany is a pure menace towards Vlad whenever he gets the chance, as is normal, and then Vlad's suffering gets doubled after he makes Ellie - of which she is even worse than Danny because she's the halfa that Danny Is NOt and thus has the powers to break into his house easy peasy and wreck shit. She steals his obsidian black card and goes on a shopping spree. This is a regular occurrence.
(and for anyone who isn't aware - Ellie is the same age as Danny in clone^2 bc i thought it'd be fun)
And then it gets tripled once Damian joins the family and gets caught up to speed on all of Vlad's tomfoolery and whoops, Damian's got better stealth skills than Danny and looks like Ellie has a partner in crime whenever they need to sneak into vlad's house to cause him grief.
Vlad's walls are the first canvas for Damian to test out his new spray paints on once he gets them :)
next up
Wes weston! i love this guy, he's so funny and he definitely knows danny is the Phantom in the clone^2 au. it's not as easy to figure out as it is in canon since its not just a simple colorswap, but perhaps he sees Danny taking off his mask after a daytime fight. and after that he becomes determined to reveal that quiet, strange fenton is the vigilante phantom.
he's putting some real,,, detectiveness? stalkerish? skills to use because catching photos of phantom is not as easy as it is if he were a halfa. He can't just snap a few dozen photos of fenton and phantom and then color compare the two of them either - Phantom wears a mask, and works primarily at night or in evenings, and typically avoids the living during the day. And he doesn't speak to the living either. Wes has to put in some extra work into his investigations and evidence.
He also makes the dumb mistake of cornering Danny in the bathroom one day early on and telling him he knows he's the Phantom -- now that Danny knows that Wes knows, he's going to be even more careful not to get caught. He puts in a little extra work in both Fenton and Phantom - another layer, perhaps a jacket, as Phantom, and baggier pants and boots he never wears as Fenton. His hood stays up in the daytime.
He was already putting in some extra effort to appear creepy and unsettling as Phantom - things like crouching low, tense movements, fluid movements. If he's perched on something he does a kinda-crawl like movement - think a mix between a bear and a gorilla crawl. It's weird, creepy. And he stares. Danny's mastered the art of not needing to blink for long periods of time, so if he sees you and sticks around he stares. It doesn't help that you can't see his eyes that well through his mask - its just two piercing green.
It helps endear him to ghosts and his enemies though - the annoying little human boy is engaging in ghost culture! That's eliciting some form of begrudging respect from his enemies.
And then compare that creepy, almost cryptid-like behavior to Fenton who, while considered a freak, really isn't anything more than just some dorky weirdo with occasional heart problems. He's kinda unsettling - he has those 'stares into soul' eyes - but its leveled by the fact that he's kinda just... dorky. It reads as normal, awkward kid behavior, and then gets disregarded completely as he gets older and it bleeds into 'very chill teenager'. Fenton being Phantom doesn't compute that much.
Paulina: you think Phantom is Fenton? Wes: I don't think, I know he is! I have proof-- Star: Just because they both have black hair doesn't mean they're the same, Wes. That's like saying Paulina and Manson are sisters because they also have black hair.
Wes's attempts to out him as Phantom means that Danny is a little more wary of him than he is in canon, since his vigilante identity isn't an entirely different ghost form its just him, so he has to be careful about where or when he takes off his mask in case Wes is around. Especially during daytime fights.
But other than that he has a lot of time messing with him. Wes is trying to convince his table group at lunch that Fenton = Phantom (again) and Danny just so happens to be within earshot of him and starts making fun of the idea.
"You think I'm Phantom?" and he's got the most disbelieving grin on his face that's only partially convincing. "That's totally bogus, man. The Phantom famously doesn't get along with my parents, why would I be a ghost hunter and not work with them?"
He has this most shit-eating, delighted look in his eyes that Wes knows is pure manic glee at being able to mess with him and get away with it. Wes is going to strangle him.
"Besides, dude, did you forget I have a heart condition? I can't be chasing around ghosts - my heart would give out from all that running and jumping."
Although Danny can get really serious at the flip of a coin if need be - especially with Wes when he gets too pushy about him being Phantom. A notable instance is when Wes cornered him in an empty bathroom to again talk about him being Phantom.
Except Danny, who had been working on a really difficult cold case about the death of a child, and hadn't gotten much sleep in the last 72 hours, plus a plethora of other stuff (like recently acquiring Damian, fighting ghosts, etc), wasn't in the mood to entertain him. It ended with Weston getting pinned to the wall and lowkey threatened by Danny. He apologizes for it afterwards but it's not forgotten.
Additional note: Wes Weston having a crush on Danny Fenton is a hilarious trope to me so Wes absolutely has a crush on Danny and the only one in denial about it is him. Everyone else - except Danny because he's more focused on the fact that Wes knows his identity, and has other things to worry about - knows about it, and everyone chalks up his obsession with Danny as being part of said crush.
Wes' friend: you know usually when you have a crush on someone you normally confess, maybe ask them out, pine from afar....
Wes: i dont--
Wes's friend: not accuse him of being the local ghost-fighting vigilante. Seriously, wes! His parents are ghost hunters!
Wes: i do not have a crush
Wes's friend: and ghosts aren't real! everyone knows that's a lie!
next up
Dan! Or Dante, but i'll call him Dan for the time being. Even if I dislike the name with a passion. Much like Wrath from my Childhood Friends au, Dan here is pretty different from his canon counterpart. Mostly because I wanted to experiment with Dan and different interpretations of him, and I thought; hey, where no better than an au where Danny has no powers?
so, dan? Dan is not a combination of Danny and Vlad's ghost halves -- now, don't get me wrong, danny still ends up under vlad's custody care after the death of his family, but he just doesn't fuse with Vlad's ghost.
So, what happened? What happened is that Vlad convinces a grieving Danny that he should let him make him a halfa (despite the fact that he has no idea how) because the he could go find his family in the ghost zone. Danny is in no mental state for any kind of experiments, but his hope and want to see his family and friends again gets him to agree.
It backfires. Vlad doesn't make Danny a halfa, he just ends up killing him completely. Danny comes back instantly as a ghost however, and enraged over being lied to, betrayed, and murdered, ends up killing Vlad in furious cold blood. He doesn't fuse with his ghost half, there's no ghost half to fuse with.
So a grieving ghost, Danny flees into the ghost zone. And, in this iteration, doesn't end up destroying the world. So how does TUE end up happening? Well, ten years later - with Danny remaining a forever 14 year old ghost - Dan ends up finding out about time travel. He finds out a way to travel back into the past, and he does.
So he can take over his past self's life. Danny just thinks he's fighting a weird doppleganger ghost, but ends up getting overshadowed. It's like being in a weird limbo, and Danny's not really sure what's happening - but his friends figure something out. After all, its been ten years since dan saw his friends, something has to give.
And that episode happens. Danny ends up meeting clockworth, beats Dan. But, well, it's not really happily ever after - somewhat. Ehh.. sorta. Danny's been traumatized by Dan's overshadowing - making him realize that despite everything, there are things ghosts can do that danny simply cannot and he needs to prepare for it. Onset paranoia, anyone?
Dan tells them his whole tragic backstory - there's a chance for redemption here, for him. For forgiveness. Not immediately, not yet, but its there. And he doesn't want to go back to the future - he's alone there. He's tired of being alone.
But he ends up being convinced - he needs to learn to look forward, not cling back. He can build himself up again, find new family. He doesn't have to be alone. So Dan goes back to the future.
"But come tell me if Vlad's giving you trouble --" and he smiles something wicked, "I'd be happy to handle him again"
and finally
not so much as any concrete thoughts as it is just me being emotional over Danny and Damian's brotherhood in this au and also Danny's hands. Again.
lIKE.. I put it in the tags of my reblog of my "danny's scarred hands' ficlet but im putting it here and its just?? Danny grabbing the blade of Damian's sword. Him grabbing the sword multiple times despite the fact that he knows it will hurt, that he will hurt himself. That he will keep hurting himself until Damian himself stops.
its just like??? whats it mean to spill your own blood just so that this little boy you've just met won’t have to ever again. he doesn't know any english and he is hurting you and yet you take him home and get him new clothes. he runs away and you go looking for him, every single time. you teach yourself arabic first so that you can converse with him.
this boy is a clone and so are you. you're a clone of his father he's a clone of your son - by nature of your existence this is your child. except its not your child, you don't have one, its just a little boy who happens to share the same dna as you. and you take him home and he becomes your little brother.
what's it mean when its you whose been hurt rather than him? whats it mean when you’d hurt yourself again just so that he can start to heal, so that he knows that he’s worth it? you cut your hands on his blade, catch its swing, just so this boy can know, can learn, that there’s someone who will bleed for him. that there's someone who will scar their hands just to make sure that you wont scar yours.
you’re a bleeding heart and its spilling out onto your palms. you take bloody fingers and wrap it around your little brother’s and say "its okay. it’s okay. you’re safe. no one will hurt you here. i promise. i wont let them. no one will hurt you so long as i'm around."
"put the sword down. i can show you how. let me show you how."
and damian in this au just reminds me of the song "eight" by sleeping at last. like?? the lYRICS. he is sO "eight" coded
'show me how to lay my sword down for long enough to let you through.' 'here i am. pry me open. what do you want to know?' 'im just a kid who grew up scared enough to hold the door shut and bury my innocence' 'but here's a map. here's a shovel. here's my achilles' heel. im all in palms out. im at your mercy now and im ready to begin. i am strong enough to let you in.'
Tumblr media
"by nature of our existence we are father and son, but by choice we are brothers. we are brothers we are brothers we are brothers. and i love you"
#dpxdc#dp x dc#dp x dc crossover#dpxdc crossover#dpdc#clone^2#danny fenton is not the ghost king#dp dc#dp dc crossover#dpxdc au#dpdc au#ITS JUST. THEM. IM SORRY BUT ITS THEM AND I LOVE THEM.#damian's guilt of hurting danny and the consistent conversations they have from that. danny always tells damian he forgives him.#'i hurt you' 'i know' 'im sorry' 'i know'#'one day i hope you forgive yourself just as much as i have forgiven you.' 'repeat after me: its not your fault'#'youre my brother and i hurt you and im sorry. i love you.'#i should get around to making a post about the batfam meeting them but i just!!! I love damian and danny i love their dynamic#and i know that i was the one who decided that its years before they meet the batfam after meeting each other but its still just a choice#that im stil so happy about because they become brothers! they meet the batfam and they're expecting baby damian to be like how damian was#when he arrived in the manor but he's not. he's not. he wears funny graphic tees and his older brother is bruce's clone and its so clear#that they love each other. bby dames steals his brother's flannels and gets chased around by him. and they roughhouse like brothers do#and his older brother is bruce's clone and he throws damian over his shoulders and calls him 'dames' and 'dami' and 'my boy' and its so#so obvious that this clone of bruce utterly adores damian.#and i had the idea before writing this that damian's first english word is 'star' and he turns to danny and calls him star when he wants#his attention for something. he points at him and says 'star' and he doesn't do that much anymore now that he knows english#but its one of the first signs of him trusting danny when he first arrived.

Who’s in Wanda’s rogues gallery?
[updated]
She doesn't really have one. That's not, like, a bad thing, though-- Wanda has, historically, been an ensemble character, not a solo hero. She's usually on a big team, and she doesn't really have a home turf that's unique to her, the way that Batman has Gotham. She has enemies, but not many that are specifically Scarlet Witch villains.
The only ones who come to mind are Lore, from the 1995 Scarlet Witch miniseries; the Emerald Warlock from Scarlet Witch (2015); and now, from the 2023 series, Hexfinder. There is also an evil spirit named Samhain who appears in both volumes of Vision & the Scarlet Witch.
Beyond that, her greatest enemy is, of course, Chthon. Modred, Chthon's servant, has schemed against both Wanda and Pietro in the past.
Black Talon, Nekra, and the Grim Reaper were recurring antagonists in Vision & the Scarlet Witch.
Mephisto and Pandemonium destroyed her children in Avengers West Coast.
This was part of a sequence of traumatic events orchestrated by Immortus, who sought to control her Nexus abilities in the Darker Than Scarlet saga.
Morgan Le Fay similarly captured Wanda and took advantage of her powers early in the Busiek run of Avengers.
Magneto and Agatha Harkness are both characters that Wanda has close, but often contentious, relationships with. I wouldn't consider them enemies, but they do end up fighting sometimes, and I think we're probably going to see more of that from Agatha in the future.
Doctor Doom has been both an ally and an enemy to Wanda, but they've had a very oppositional dynamic since Children's Crusade.
That's all I've got off the top of my head. Most of the characters I've listed aren't really linked by any common factors, which is why I don't think of them as a "rogues' gallery." Wanda has never been the type of character who needed one. Now that she has an ongoing solo series with an expanding world and supporting cast, it makes sense that Orlando is trying to establish a roster of villains-- and I hope he does bring back some of those unique SW baddies like Lore and Declan in the future.

8 Characters who should appear in My Adventures with Superman Season 2
Tumblr media
My Adventures with Superman has quickly become a fan-favorite Superman story, full of a great cast and interesting story elements. While I loved the series, and had fun with every episode, I think the show should incorporate some new characters into the mythos, to expand the story and the wider DC universe.
While there are characters that people love like Batman or villains already teased like Luthor and Brainiac, I am going to focus on characters I think this story has set up nicely, characters who have history with the Man of Steel, and that can bring a much needed different energy to the show.
I have 4 heroes, and 4, let's just say, antagonists, that I think seem like the next logical step for our heroes.
Antagonists
Tumblr media
My biggest criticism of the show was the lack of colorful and impactful villains. While Parasite, Sam Lane, Mxyzptlk, Amanda Waller and Deathstoke all had their moments, there really isn't an iconic villain I can point to from the show.
Adding one or two key overarching villains can make this great show on par with a Spectacular Spider-Man or even Invincible. I have a few ideas for characters the show may have already set up for us. Staring with:
Lucy Lane
Tumblr media
Lucy Lane in the comics is the younger sister of Lois Lane, and while originally she was a stewardess, she has more recently been reimagined both in comics and in the television series Supergirl as a major in the army.
Having Lucy take the place of the disgraced General Lane could put her directly on the path of Superman and Lois. We can even have her live in Metropolis with Lois while she is "in town".
In my reimagining, Lucy could be seen as the good daughter who took up Sam's wishes, while Lois is the failure, leading to good classic tension.
Having Lucy as an antagonist with ties to Lois and (like in the comics) dates Jimmy can lead to some good dramatic moments, and could eventually lead to her being an ally of Superman who vouchers for him to the U.S. Government.
I think adding Lucy is a good way to tone down the Army vs Superman story to be more personal and in the background while we face different threats, while still giving it emotional weight.
But if Lucy Lane is the new General, who is her new enforcer?
Bloodsport
Tumblr media
We have a Suicide Squad who hates Superman, so why not bring in his best enemy from the team.
Reimagined in James Gunn's The Suicide Squad, Bloodsport is most widely known as the assassin who shot Superman with a Kryptonite bullet. Making Bloodsport Lucy Lane's main enforcer could act as Deathstroke with Kryptonite weapons, making him make more sense.
I'd like to keep the fact that he is there against his will, and has daughter, keeping him grounded and relatable. Make him the new leader of the Squad on the field as opposed to Parasite, who was way too maniacal to be lead.
Ideally there would be an episode where Clark is shot out of the sky, and all his friends and family are worried whether or not he will survive.
Lobo
Tumblr media
If we want to introduce an Iconic Superman villain, none is better than Lobo.
While Brainiac and Zod are plenty powerful and could stand a chance against the Man of Steel, sending in an assassin to do their work for them makes their lives easier.
I know he's not the best set up, but Lobo is one of those characters who can show up whenever as long as someone wants you dead. Having Clark face an invader as soon as he thinks the invasion is over would be a hell of a way to kick off season 2.
Lobo is also a character who does whatever for a check, and doesn't necessarily have to be an enemy. There can be an episode where Clark needs back up, so all other heroes team up, and Lobo is there because Jimmy paid him off.
He'd be great recurring as an ally or villain, and bring a much needed livelihood to the villains we have.
Injustice Superman
Tumblr media
No villain has been teased more in My Adventures with Superman than Superman himself.
I'm not the biggest fan of the Injustice story, but it's been utilized well here to demonstrate how terrifying a Kryptonian can and should be.
I want to put a close on this chapter of most people fearing Superman and Clark worried about who he could become. I'm hoping by the end of Season 2 after the team defeats Evil Superman, coming to take Lois or destroy the world, we can go on to bigger villains.
I think a version of evil Superman should be utilized in the 2nd Season, and could even be the final battle in an Invincible Season 1 style. Perhaps after Clark has been knocked out by the Kryptonite Bullet, Injustice Superman makes his way here, and Bloodsport, both General Lanes, The Suicide Squad, and some of the heroes I'll bring up next will take on Injustice Superman with little luck until Clark shows up.
I do think bringing in Injustice Superman could give us teases at heroes to come like, "I destroyed the Bat, the kid, the time traveler, anyone who didn't listen." If we want to have a lot of fun with it, we can make him much older and voiced by Dennis Quaid.
Heroes
Tumblr media
I think My Adventures with Superman could absolutely benefit from some heroes joining the fold, some longterm and some just for a bit.
Don't get me wrong, this is still a Superman show and I want to keep it that way. But Superman inspires others to step up, and I want to show that. Each hero has a history with Clark, and brings something important to the table. Starting with the ask I want most:
Krypto
Tumblr media
It's time to expand the Super family.
Krypto is Superman's super canine from the planet of Krypton who has all of Superman's abilities.
Adding Krypto to Superman's team means some good animal hijinks, and adding a character who can protect Jimmy and Lois when Superman can't.
We can also do fun one off episodes like a day in the life of Krypto, where he throws a post office into space or frees some dogs from the pound.
How we get him into the story is kind of tough, but perhaps he is in another pod that redirected to earth when it saw another Kryptonian was there, or Clark heres stories of another Kryptonian out in the galaxy , and it's this dog.
Either way, Krypto would be a more fun member of the crew.
Steel
Tumblr media
John Henry Irons is an inventor and engineer who styles his look and abilities after the Man of Steel. Usually seen as an ally to Superman, Steel also appears famously as one of the four people taking up the identity of Superman once Clark dies fighting Doomsday.
Steel recently has appeared in Superman and Lois, as an other worldly traveler originally thought to be a version of Lex Luthor.
My version of Irons would also be young hero, not exactly at the level he is in the comics, trying to emulate Superman with mechanics but not quite there yet. I'd like him to be a sidekick Superman calls on at times, a recurring character until he is fully brought into the group as the tech support and their 2nd heavy hitter.
Irons should represent that Clark can't really change that he is inspiring people, and should be a sign for more heroes to come.
Brainiac-5
Tumblr media
Unlike the other heroes on this list, Brainiac-5 should serve two purposes and should not be an series regular.
Brainiac-5 is a hero from the Legion of Superheroes, a team from 31st century inspired by Superman. He should be an untrusted ally to begin, as he is a descendent of Brainiac, but come with warning of his ancestors plans and how to defeat him.
Brainiac-5 also would be the anti League of Lois Lanes. We see too often in this show what Superman can become on the negative end. We should also see what he can bring about on the positive end as well.
At first untrusted, Brainiac-5 will convince Clark he is on the right path, and can inspire many many heroes from generations to come.
While the character should return throughout the show, for a second season he should appear in one or two episodes, and return for major arcs if he is needed.
And finally, the biggest ask:
The Flash
Tumblr media
The Flash and Superman speed rivalry is one of the most fun in comics. There is something about seeing Speedsters and Kryptonians on screen together that always makes for good television.
The Flash was one of the first heroes on Smallville, was the first hero to crossover with Supergirl in the Arrowverse, raced Superman in the Animated Series, and even did a post credit tease in the Whedon cut of Justice League.
Bringing in a major Leaguer in Season 2 could up the stakes for what is to come. Given Flash and Supermans racing history, we can have a fun episode on our hand that builds out this universe, and could even be a backdoor pilot to a Flash show.
We could do the classic charity run, or maybe Gorilla Grodd plans to take over Metropolis, either way, a fun one off episode centered around these two icons could be the warm-up to Justice League we need.
I'm sure some of these characters will come in sooner or later, but bringing on any of them can make for a fun Season 2 that ups the stakes and could lead into something greater.
But time will tell if I’m right.

TW: Mentions of past torture and death
Well, here we are, the next chapter. After this, there will only be two chapters left and maybe an epilogue. Enjoy
Danny and his family helped the Justice League clear out technology and explain what it did. Justice League-approved doctors were looking over Jason.
Danny felt his heart squeeze at Jason’s vacant expression. If only Danny had been faster. If only he could’ve gotten rid of the GIW sooner. If only—
“You’re blaming yourself again, little badger.”
Danny scowled at the older halfa. Vlad Masters stopped by Danny, looking well put together for someone who just came out of a fight.
“So, another one joins the ranks of the halfa. Good to see our population is growing.”
Danny snarled, “Stay away from him, Vlad. He won’t be your son; he already has a father.”
Danny and Vlad watched as Batman flittered around Jason.
“Yes, I suppose you’re right,” Vlad said, “How’s Danielle?”
Danny’s scowl deepened.
“Listen, I know we made a temporary truce to eliminate our enemies; that does not make us allies, Plasmius. Stay away from my daughter.”
Danny left the older halfa behind and went to Bruce.
“He’ll get better, B,” Danny said as he approached the distraught man. Jason still hadn’t acknowledged their presence, “He needs to process what happened to him. Let him rest.”
A doctor came up to them. She eyed Danny’s white hair and glowing eyes and slightly shuddered before getting herself together.
“Good news, Mr. Batman. Jason’s vitals are a bit slow but they seem to be his new baseline. He will be physically fine and will make a full recovery. He can stay with us overnight, or you can take him somewhere you feel will be more comfortable for the both of you.”
Bruce said nothing as he picked Jason up. Jason rested his head on Bruce’s chest (right where his heartbeat would be.) and finally closed his eyes. His breathing tempered out, and he lost consciousness.
Danny walked alongside his biological father, not knowing how to comfort the man.
“It’s not your fault,” Danny said.
After a moment of silence, Bruce said, “It’s not yours, either.”
They both stayed silent after that. Neither knew what to say as they walked toward the Batplane. Despite that, the silence didn’t feel awkward. (It was somber.)  Danny’s parents, sister, and the rest of Batman’s brood stood by the plane. Even mother was a bit further away from the rest of them, with Damian the closest to her.
Once they saw Bruce holding Jason, everyone ran (or, in Talia’s case, walked) toward them. Nightwing put his fingers on Jason’s neck, feeling his pulse.
“How is he,” Red Robin asked.
“The doctor said his vitals are a bit lower than they should be, but that’s his new normal baseline. He lost consciousness when I picked him up, but he wasn’t responsive before that. He needs rest.”
“Dying and coming back is not pleasant,” Danny started, “I died violently but quickly. Jason was tortured to death and then brought back. It was slower. He’ll need time to process what happened to him.”
The Bat clan nodded in understanding. Mother approached Bruce and put her hand on Jason’s chest, watching his rising chest. She gave a bitter smile and kissed Jason’s forehead.
Talia al Ghul didn’t want to say goodbye to her children, but she had things to do. Things her beloved would not approve of. (Like destroying any remaining GIW bases she could find.) She looked at Bruce, “Take care of them this time, beloved, or I will take them away as is my right as their mother.”
Talia and her assassins melted into the shadows before disappearing altogether.
____
Samantha was allowed to stay in the manor that night. She mostly ignored the Batfamily and talked to the Fentons. Damian was fine with that; he wasn’t there to make friends. (Though she seemed a bit too close to his older brother.)
‘They like each other,’ Cassandra signed. Damian scowled. He didn’t want to share his brother’s attention more than he had to.
‘Stop that. They make each other happy.’
Damian let his scowl fall. Well, if Samantha Manson made Danny happy, he supposed he could learn to deal with her. At least she was vegetarian.
Soon, Samantha bid the Fentons a good night, and Pennyworth escorted her to the guest room. Maybe Damian could tell father to keep an eye out for Danny and Samantha that night… No, he was better than that.
“How you feeling, Dami,” Danny asked while approaching him.
“Fine,” he lied. One of his older brothers had died. He had seen his strong father break down, and Damian feared his time with Daniel was limited.
Danny took Damian’s hand, “You know it’s okay not to be, right?”
“Tt,” Damian looked away from his older brother’s understanding gaze. Damian felt tears burning behind his eyes and stubbornly held them back.
“How are you,” he asked instead. Thankfully, Danny let him change the subject.
“Tired, pissed,” Danny sighed, “We got their main base, but this won’t be over if the government that doesn’t change those damned laws.”
Damian watched their father fluff Jason’s pillow. The man hadn’t taken his eyes off Jason since he brought him into the Batplane. (He even allowed the Fenton’s to pilot it while he held Jason.)
“Father and the Justice League will repeal those laws,” Damian reassured his brother, “And I’ll be there with you every step of the way.”
Danny smiled at his younger brother and hugged him. For just that night, Danny allowed himself to break down in his younger brother’s arms.
Meanwhile, Jason opened his eyes. He stared at the familiar ceiling, noticing the lack of white. (Noticing the absence of pain.) Something was different; he could tell.
“Dad,” he mumbled.
Bruce Wayne’s worried blue eyes came into view.
“Jay-lad, you’re home. You can rest.”
Jason hummed before falling into a restful sleep.

Talia Al Ghul
Obviously things can vary to fit plots, the info I'm writing mainly fits in with my fic and my info for Danny but can be altered to an extent timeline wise and such. Also she has been effected by proximity to the pit along with how much her father had used them before she was conceived and ages a bit slow & I kinda picked and chose pieces from the various stories we have about her
Tumblr media
Talia Al Ghul was born around 1950 to a woman born into the league who had caught the eye of the Great Ra's Al Ghul, Melisande was killed when Talia was an infant by a former ally of Ra's named Qayin. After her death the guard who had been charged with protecting his child was killed for their failure and a price was put on Qayin's capture or death. After the lose of her Mother Talia was raised by a combination of teachers and her father, as she got older and her skill became more obvious? Her father became a more prominent figure in her lessons, training her to be able to run his organization for him when he had things to attend to.
Sometime later in her life she meets Bruce Wayne as Batman after both her she and Dick Grayson are kidnapped seemingly by a mutual enemy of Ra's and Batman. Unknown to Batman at the time, this was a set-up to allow his daughter the chance to seduce him. After their encounter an offer is extended to Bruce to train with the league and expand his skill set, during his time with them Bruce and Talia do manage to fall into a whirlwind romance. During this time, much to her father's disappointment, Talia ends up truly falling for Bruce. Unfortunately for her he learns the truth about their meeting and that Gotham is in danger at the same time, making his decision to leave easy for him.
It was nearly 2 weeks after Bruce left that Talia realized the that she was pregnant with his child, or rather children. When it was learned she was pregnant, steps were taken to make sure that her child would be stronger and more resilient than any normal child should. A combination of Lazarus magic and science was used to make the child stronger and more resilient. She's had thoughts about it being the reason Aidan was born still, needing to be dipped in the waters to truly enter the world. She has never voiced them allowed for fear that her own meddling in an attempt to make him stronger caused her son's entrance to the world to be delayed.
As Damian and Aidan grew, it was obvious to Talia which one her Father favored, even if it had not been for Aidan's less than ideal birth? His hesitance to kill unless it could not be avoided was obvious, even if none would voice it outside the looks her father would give her in those instances. Despite this, he excelled in stealth more so than even many of his teachers. Many members took to referring to him as The Heir's Shadow and assumed that if Damian ever took over for his grandfather, Aidan would serve a similar role to him as Talia did for Ra.'s.
When it comes to her son's Talia would do anything that she could to protect them, no matter who that made an enemy to her or who it turned against her; even if it was them that turned against her. It is this that pushed her to helping Jason Todd when he died and came back incomplete, knowing that Bruce was going through the pain of losing a child? She could not sit back and ignore that as her own children now nearly 7 years old lived and breathed in front of her, and so she found Jason and tossed him into a pit to be fully revived. During his time with her he met Damian twice and Aidan only once, but he was so far into the pit haze that it's possible they looked similar enough he didn't realize there were two of them.
Unsurprisingly with her protective streak when it came to her children, when her schedule allowed it Talia would follow them on any missions that they were assigned. When Danny was 8 years and 3 months old, he was assigned to a mission to kill a former ally of Ra's. She did just that, seeing when he failed in his mission and doing so for him well, rigging the building to blow. She then caught up with her son and told him to follow her, traversing him over 2 states from where his mission had been. She told him that Aidan Al Ghul was dead, and if he wanted to survive, he would stay that way. She trusted that she had instilled the skills needed to survive in him and left, not being able to stay away longer for risk of Ra's becoming suspicious.
After returning, she broke the news about Aidan to her father before doing so privately to Damian in anticipation of his upset about his brother's lose. It was not long after this that she brought him to Gotham to tell him who his father was, hoping that learning this information would help him through his grief. When she later left Damian with his father it was the second-hardest day of her life, because at least with him she knew that Bruce would be there to protect him.

Messing around with ChatGBT, asked it about the batfam. Interesting to see what information it pulled and who (Stephanie! 🤬) it left out.
Transcript of chat below (my part in bold):
Tell me who is a part of the DC comics “bat-family”
The "bat-family" is a group of characters in the DC Comics universe who are associated with the superhero Batman. The group includes:
Robin (various characters have taken on the mantle of Robin over the years, including Dick Grayson, Jason Todd, Tim Drake, and Damian Wayne)
Batgirl (also known as Barbara Gordon, and later as Oracle)
Nightwing (formerly known as Robin, Dick Grayson assumes this identity after he outgrows the role of Robin)
Red Hood (formerly known as Jason Todd, he assumes this identity after he is resurrected and becomes a vigilante)
Catwoman (Selina Kyle, a former thief who sometimes works with Batman and sometimes opposes him)
Commissioner James Gordon (the head of the Gotham City Police Department and a close ally of Batman)
Alfred Pennyworth (Batman's loyal butler and confidant)
Batwoman (Kate Kane, a cousin of Bruce Wayne who becomes a vigilante in her own right)
Orphan (Cassandra Cain, a former assassin who becomes the latest character to take on the mantle of Batgirl)
This is just a partial list, and the membership of the bat-family has varied over time in the comics. Some other characters who have been associated with the bat-family at different points include Batwing, Azrael, and Bat-Mite.
Tell me about the women associated with the bat-family
There are several notable women who have been associated with the bat-family in the DC Comics universe. These include:
Batgirl (Barbara Gordon) - the daughter of Commissioner James Gordon, she assumes the identity of Batgirl and fights crime alongside Batman and Robin.
Catwoman (Selina Kyle) - a former thief who has a complicated relationship with Batman, sometimes working with him and sometimes opposing him.
Poison Ivy (Pamela Isley) - a villain with control over plants and the ability to manipulate people with pheromones. She has sometimes worked with Batman, but more often has been an enemy.
Talia al Ghul - the daughter of Ra's al Ghul and the mother of Damian Wayne (the current Robin). She has a complicated relationship with Batman and has both aided and opposed him.
Batwoman (Kate Kane) - a cousin of Bruce Wayne who becomes a vigilante in her own right, taking on the mantle of Batwoman and fighting crime in Gotham City.
Orphan (Cassandra Cain) - a former assassin who becomes the latest character to take on the mantle of Batgirl.
These are just a few examples of the women who have been associated with the bat-family in the DC Comics universe. There are many others who have played important roles, both as allies and enemies, in the storylines featuring Batman and his allies.
Explain which characters have been Robin through the years in the post-crisis Dc Universe
In the post-crisis DC Universe (which refers to the continuity of DC Comics stories following the event known as "Crisis on Infinite Earths"), there have been several characters who have taken on the mantle of Robin. These include:
Dick Grayson - the original Robin, he was the first character to assume the role and worked alongside Batman as his sidekick for many years. After outgrowing the role of Robin, he assumed the identity of Nightwing.
Jason Todd - the second character to assume the role of Robin, he was a troubled youth who was taken in by Batman and trained to become his partner. He was eventually killed by the Joker, but later returned as the vigilante known as the Red Hood.
Tim Drake - the third character to become Robin, he was a young detective who deduced the identities of Batman and Robin and offered to become the new Robin. He later became Red Robin.
Damian Wayne - the son of Batman and Talia al Ghul, he was trained by the League of Assassins and eventually became the latest character to take on the mantle of Robin.
Each of these characters has had their own unique storylines and played important roles in the Batman mythos in the post-crisis DC Universe.
You left out Stephanie brown
You're correct, I apologize for the oversight. Stephanie Brown is another character who has assumed the mantle of Robin in the post-crisis DC Universe. She originally appeared as the vigilante known as the Spoiler, and later became the fourth character to take on the role of Robin after Tim Drake retired from the position. She has also taken on the identities of the Batgirl and the Spoiler at different points in her career. Thank you for pointing out this error.

Tumblr media
origin / pre-batman v s.uperman.
Origin follows Frank Miller’s Year One and most of canon (pre-52) leading to A death in the family.
He has been working in Gotham for 20 years and in those 20 years have collected his own rogue gallery, effectively functioning both as an urban myth and a tool conveniently feared and favored by the Gotham Police Department.
Thematically inspired by TDKR and heavil influenced b the Arkham Games.
Tumblr media
during batman v superman.
He is roughly around mid-40s, still seen as part of the high elite with the party boy and play boy personality for the media, while being CEO of Wayne Enterprises.
His connection to his mainstay allies have been tenuous at best, especially with Leslie Thompkins and Jim Gordon, while Alfred and Lucius keep guard of him still the best way they can.
Roughly been 4 or 5 years of operating on his own, after having both cut off ties/abandoned by his ward Dick Grayson and trusted ally, Barbara Gordon since the death of Robin (Jason Todd.)
In their absence, he becomes more cynical, more violent, in the eyes of both the people he saves and the criminals he tries to put away. This is only exacerbated by the introduction of THE SUPERMAN.
A duration of 2 years gets him invested in his own paranoia, assisted further by the machinations of a manipulative billionaire, into planning the Murder of The Superman at the risk of his potential turning after seeing so many of his trusted friends and colleagues in the last 20 years lose or be turned to the dark side.
It is only through the clarity of Lois Lane and Clark Kent reminding him of his own trauma through his mother’s name is he awoken to the darkness he has fallen into. And in Clark Kent’s death is he brought back to the light.
Tumblr media
post zsjl.
He is consumed by the guilt of his failure in recognizing the goodness in Clark Kent and devotes all of his time to informing a group of people, and others like Clark, of an incoming threat. Promising, just as he had promised before his death to keep his mother safe, to keep the world safe he had nearly abandoned.
Immediately realizing he can’t do this alone, he asks Diana for her help. It’s only when she says yes later that some progress is made to form the group that would safeguard the world from the threat of Darkseid.
Tumblr media
plotting assistance.
For friends and allies, post ZJL, he is both distracted by the bigger cause to the point where it might appear that he’s manic ; having little to no sleep, devoted to finding others ; making sure the world is prepared for another invasion where he wasn’t during Man of Steel, to the point where he doesn’t quite care if it costs him his life so long as he can ensure that the League or the World can go one without him.
With this, comes also, a renewed faith in people where he will try to make amends first and foremost to his family, his closest allies, his kids for practically abandoning them in both his grief and his bitterness at the loss of Robin. So that’s really going to be his main focus as far as relationships goes.
Basically, he would have a basic connection to most people and plotting can be specific to how much and how deep that connection goes.
For enemies and villains, where he might have turned a lot more violent in the years past, he will try to make an effort to go back to his older ways to a point. He will still use violence and fear as a means to get what he wants but his more extreme methods might be held back unless you’re a piece of shit.
As far as Arkham Asylum goes, while he’s had a hand with it through the years, he’s kind of lost touch with the methods they’ve been using in the last few years and have come back to try and do better with the treatment of the inmates held within its walls. Basically, he’s going to try harder than ever to make sure these people get the proper help they need.
Except the Joker, he’s going to kill that bastard the next chance he gets.
Romance wise, his ex wifes are canonically Talia (first) and Selina (second.) That's it.

The Batman Review
So better late than ever. I saw The Batman starring Robert Pattison in IMAX last March and it was surprisingly amazing. Originally a stand alone Batman movie was going to be part of the DC Extended Universe and have Ben Affleck star in the film. However due to DC Extended Universe failing to have the same success as the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the new Batman is rework as a reboot and having Matt Reeve who of course directed Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and War for the Planet of the Apes to direct a Batman movie. This is also the second DC film since Joker (2019) not to be part of the DC Extended Universe. The story of this film is about Batman in his second year of fighting crime. Batman has pursues the Riddler, an evil serial killer who is targeting the citizens of Gotham City. Batman would later uncover corruption that connects to his own family during the investigation. Because of this, Batman is forced to team up with new allies including the mysterious Catwoman to fight and catch the Riddler and bring the corrupt to justice. I find the story of this film to be excellent. Plus there are a lot of exciting moments, intense moments, and darker moments as well. The special effects in this film are wonderful, the costume designs are very creative, the designs of the weapons and the vehicles are also very well designed, the make-ups are very good, and the action scenes are so brutal, intense, and groundbreaking to watch especially the fight scenes and the chase scenes. Now for the actors in this film. Let’s start with Batman played by Robert Pattison. Wow. Robert Pattison did a super awesome job playing Batman/Bruce Wayne who of course is a  A reclusive billionaire who obsessively protects Gotham City  as a masked vigilante to cope with his traumatic past. His performance as Batman is so dark, so tough, and so vengeful that he is good at solving the case, using his gadgets, and fight his enemies. Much like Michael Keaton, we all thought Robert Pattison is not the right guy to play Batman. But we were wrong. He did great. In my opinion, Robert Pattison is my third favorite Batman after Christian Bale and Michael Keaton. Then there Catwoman played by Zoë Kravitz. Catwoman in this film is a nightclub waitress, drug dealer, and cat burglar who meets and help Batman solve the mystery and find someone. She is of course very attractive and is good at fighting. Zoë Kravitz is now my third favorite Catwoman after Anne Hathaway and Michelle Pfeiffer. She is definitely much better than Halle Berry in that god awful Catwoman movie back in 2004. Also appearing in this film are James Gordon played by Jeffery Wright, Alfred played by Andy Serkis, Carmine Falcone played by John Turturro who was from Do The Right Thing, The Big Lebowski, O Brother Where Are Thou, and the Micheal Bay’s Transformers franchise, and Gil Colson played by Peter Sarsgaard. James Gordan is one of Batman’s allies in the Gotham City Police Department who helps Batman solve the Riddler case. I think Jeffrey Wright did just as great as Gary Oldman who plays James Gordon in The Dark Knight trilogy. Alfred is Batman loyal butler and mentor. Andy Serkis is now my second favorite Alfred after Michael Caine. Although Andy Serkis is known for playing motion capture characters, he has become one of those actors who has been in both Marvel and DC. Carmine Falcone is a Gotham crime lord who is a very dangerous guy just like Noah Cross from Roman Polanski’s Chinatown. Gil Colson is Gotham's district attorney. This is the second time that  Peter Sarsgaard is in a DC movie since he did appear in Green Lantern. Now for the villains, the Riddler played by Paul Dano who was from Little Miss Sunshine, There Will Be Blood, Cowboys and Aliens, 12 Years of Slave, and Prisoners and Penguin played by Colin Farrell. I think Paul Dano did a very splendid job playing the Riddler that is one of Batman’s enemies who is so smart, dark, menacing, threatening, and down right evil and in this film is a serial killer who targets elite Gotham citizens and livestreams his crimes. Unlike Jim Carrey’s Riddler in Batman Forever who is just a funny villain, Riddler in this film is very serious and much like Heath Ledger’s Joker, this is the Riddler you do not want to mess with. Penguin is also one of Batman’s enemies and in this film, he is  Falcone's chief lieutenant who operates the nightclub called Iceberg Lounge. Colin Ferrell is so unrecognizable in this film because the make up. Penguin in this film is basically a mixture of Robert De Niro as Al Capone from The Untouchables and one of the mafias in The Sopranos. Although Colin Farrell did a good job, I still think the best Penguin for me is Danny DeVito from Batman Returns because he is scary looking. Matt Reeves did a super wonderful job directing this movie especially he made this film so realistic, dark, and brutally epic. The music composed by Michael Giacchino sounds very intense and it feels like a Batman movie. It is also awesome to hear that song Something in the Way by Nirvana in this film. So overall, this is a wonderful Batman movie. This in my opinion is my fourth favorite Batman movie after The Dark Knight trilogy. I am most definitely excited for the sequel and hopefully the next villain should be Mr. Freeze and it has to be done right. Anyway, if you’re a fan of Batman and DC, this is a must see. So I give this movie 5 out of 5 nuclear bombs.

Ya know, I truly wonder how long Hawk Moth rein would long if a character crossoved there. Like, I get it every single ml character is dumb, but would the crossovers also be affected? I'm pretty sure anyone with more than one brain cell can easily tell Marinette a way to deal with him. Like... the wish, since we don't really know the drawbacks and she can just wish for everything to be as Gabriel "wishes" (ie. if his wife isn't in coma, there's no plot), thus she can have her LIFE back.
As much as I want to argue it, Miraculous is sadly a show where everything is dumbed down and also made some combination of both overpowered and nerfed in order to make it "work" while also keeping the plot at a standstill whereas most other shows and stories play their characters and settings straight and have progression.
In order to make any level of crossover work without completely overwhelming or outclassing Miraculous or otherwise solving all of their problems for them and risk showing them up, people seem to do some mixture of amping up the competency and setup of the Miraculous side to make them better than how they're portrayed in canon and dumbing down the other side to make them fit in with Miraculous so they aren't complete game-breakers for the world and the whole Hawk Moth conflict.
Thor: Hello, young warriors! I am Thor, God of Thunder! Let me call my all-seeing ally, Heimdall, to help you find your foe so I can smack him around with my mighty hammer.
Doctor Strange: Hello. I'm Doctor Strange, the Sorcerer Supreme. Let me create a portal to your enemy and use my Time Stone to find the best way of defeating him.
Sailor Moon: Hello, we're the Sailor Senshi. Sailor Mercury can use her magical computer to find Hawk Moth's base and we can defeat him with the combined elemental power of the planets.
Superman: Sure, I can help. I can use my X-ray vision to search over Paris for any underground lairs and then use my super strength and ability to fly and near god-like abilities to drop him off at the police station.
Batman: I'm Batman. I can investigate Hawk Moth's identity by using the EXACT species of butterfly he's been using to transform people and pulling up records of who in the area has at any point made a purchase of said butterflies or just check out any strange building schematics for your city to see who has built a secret lair in the last twenty years and then break into his home to catch him off guard.
Joker: We're the Phantom Thieves. Give a bit while we check out Paris's version of the Metaverse where we can locate Hawk Moth's literal shadow and cause him to have a change of heart!
Static Shock: I'm Static Shock and this is my partner, Gear. He can use his backpack and super smarts to go over all footage of the akumas from various security cams in Paris over the past year and triangulate where they're coming from. Then he can take over Hawk Moth's security system and turn it against him without warning while we sneak in and I can zap him.
Robin: Hello, we're the Teen Titans. We have Cyborg, who can also check Paris's security cams to triangulate where the butterflies are coming from, as well as Raven, who is an empath and can use her powers to try to locate Hawk Moth and then transport us all to him so we can take him down.
Danny Phantom: Hello. I am Danny Phantom. I can fly as well as go invisible and intangible, so I can search the city over for this Hawk Moth and then literally just pluck the Miraculous off him before he knows it. I also have a possession ability that may or may not work on akumas and Hawk Moth himself that would allow me to find him and make him turn himself in that way.
Future Trunks: Hello, I'm Trunks Briefs and I am from the future. So I can tell you with absolute certainty that Gabriel Agreste is Hawk Moth. He's also going to force his son's girlfriend to break up with him so he can akumatize her and will accidentally result in the complete destruction of Paris and the moon. (Where were you on THAT ONE, BUNNIX?)
Dipper: Hello, I'm Dipper Pines. I have no powers, but I do have more than two functioning brain cells so I can suggest that maybe you use one of those various other incredibly overpowered Miraculous you have to just try and find out who Hawk Moth is.
Ladybug: You mean I can cheat?
All: YES!
Hawk Moth: Oh snapples.

“Uh, Jason? We might wanna let god fix it, because if we fix it, we’re going to jail.”
☈ - ✮ ✭ ✮
Six months. That’s how long it took for Jason to die. Six. Whole. Months. In an abandoned warehouse, in some foreign country that he couldn’t even remember. He’d been fifteen, small for his age but fifteen nonetheless, when that clown had beat him. And what had Batman done? Nothing. He’d let him sit in that warehouse, in that foreign country, with that clown at age fifteen- for six months. And he had done nothing.
Not that it really matters now. It had, at one point, to Jason. He’s in denial that it still does. But to Batman? Oh, it never mattered at all. How long had it taken Bruce to replace his son? A week? A month? No, it had been six months. Barely. And the clown? He was safe and sound, very much alive and loose as he usually was. Batman had put him in Arkham, after a while, but of course it hadn’t lasted for very long. Jason’s death? That was permanent. At least until there was a new and improved and very much replaced Jason running with Batman, six months later. That was permanent too.
So one can imagine the confusion you felt when you opened the door to find a very much alive ex-Robin on your apartment doorstep.
201 Arkham Street, apartment 317 Gotham City, Gotham County, New Jersey
That’s the address given to him by the Riddler. Putting him in Arkham seemed to be one thing that the Batman had got done during Jason’s little time away. Clearly it had ended up well enough for at least one person. Jason hadn’t even needed to threaten the Riddler out of riddling. In less than ten minutes, Edward Nygma had revealed the Mockingbird’s address, who they like and don’t like, what their suit was made of, and finally their name. Batman had always assumed Riddler and Mockingbird were best friends, birds of a feather with all the times the they’d seemed to make some kind of appearance by the others side. Some friend Riddler was now.
Jason had snuck into the Batcave recently, and while going through files, decided to take a glimpse into Mockingbird’s just for the sake of curiosity. He wasn’t expecting much. When he was fifteen, it had been near empty. But sure enough, the file had been expanded upon relatively greatly in the past- what? Four years? That sounded right. But one thing that hadn’t changed was your seemingly long standing friendship with Edward Nygma, the Riddler. Still, so much for it.
Batman had seemingly made a note of allies of theirs, then crossed out multiple names. Poison Ivy, Bane, Deadshot- and yes- the Riddler, stayed. Scarecrow, Black Mask, and Catwoman were all shockingly crossed out. Jason hadn’t expected the last one. Below the allies were the list of crimes. That had changed too. They’d gotten more violent towards the end of the list, straying away from the Mockingbird that the ex-Robin had known. Mockingbird had picked a fight with Dick’s Nightwing enough times for Batman to make a note of too. Before Jason could get to the new pictures of Mockingbird, he quickly closed the file. Didn’t need to see anymore.
So based on what he had gathered, you should’ve looked different. He’d memorized your face when he was fifteen. Was expecting it to have changed compared to then. But when you open the door and Jason’s face to face with you, Mockingbird, it’s like the first time. Only your eyebrows have gotten slightly darker, and your eyes have rung with dark circles.
✮ ✭ ✮
The same can’t be said for Jason Todd, however, who you let into your apartment rather quickly.
You’d done your research on him, too, but only after you’d heard about his death. A death which was confirmed. After locking the door and beginning to turn around, he answers the question before you can ask.
“Superboy and Lazarus Pits.”
“Ah,” you respond, crossing your arms. The man stands tall in your living room, though it’s not forced. You’ve got no idea what a Lazarus Pit is, but it seems to have changed the Robin you knew before. He was scrawny before. He puffed his chest out before. He had something to prove before. Now his broad shoulders make him look bigger naturally. He could reach up and touch your ceiling with no effort. His face and jaw are masculine and strong, eyes bright green and blue and cyan like you remember. That’s how you know it’s Jason Todd.
“It’s because of the power struggle, isn’t it?” says Harley beside you as you both look over the side of the roof, her flat on her belly and you crouched on the ledge in watch.
“Hm?” you’d tossed back through your voice changer, not even looking away from the busy street below.
“Jay killed the Robin,” Harley chirps. “You know- Batman’s little boyfriend? In the shorts and the tights with the flips and the kicks? Oh, that kid went bing, bang, boom. Jay’s been real pumped about it.”
This had made you turn to Harley Quinn. You looked at her over your shoulder, still in position. Though you hadn’t thought about it at the time, it was a good thing she couldn’t see through your mask right about now.
“The kid?” you say at last.
“Yeah! Jason Todd! Ya’ know him?”
Harley doesn’t look at you, bubbly as ever in her own world. But you watch her for a moment. Then you turn back around to the direction of the street. “No.”
“Well I’m sayin I bet that’s why there’s so much crime goin’ on now. Old Batty’s got it...”
“I heard,” you tell Jason, before he can go into further detail. He nods once in understanding, in line with a breath, and then looks around the room. Your apartment is small, seemingly in decay, and looks like a shithole. Just like the rest of the building.
“Mockingbird, I presume,” he offers finally. “Y/N L/N was it?”
You nod once, holding your gaze at the ground in thought before taking a step toward your kitchen. It’s close by to the living room. So close, in fact, that your island counter practically touches the back of your couch. “Robin,” you greet in turn.
“My name’s Ja-”
“I know what your name is.”
Just then a sprinkle of dust falls from your ceiling, mixing with dirt and shit and pollen. “Nice place,” Jason condescends.
“I’m sorry,” you put your hands on your counter as you lean in to look at him. “Weren’t you under the ground not too long ago?”
“Weren’t you in jail not too long ago?”
“I never went to jail.”
“But your buddy Ed did didn’t he?”
Your eyebrows crease, and Jason notices you lean forward a fraction of an inch more. He got to you. “How do you know about Edward?”
Jason Todd gives a small smile. His right hand reaches up until it’s poking the side of his head a few times. “Bat knowledge.”
You frown tightly. “Don’t do that. I didn’t like that.”
“You like beating up Dick Grayson?”
You shift. “Yeah. I did.”
“And Catwoman? Huh?”
“Yeah,” you say a little louder. “I did. What wonder boy? You wanna see the scar to prove it?”
“Okay,” Jason huffs. He closes his eyes, his jaw clenching, and then he speaks softer to control himself. “Okay. I’m not Boy Wonder anymore, or wonder boy. Don’t call me that.”
You look him up and down. His eyes, his jaw, his brows. The Robin you knew those years ago. He’d been beaten and blown up. He must’ve cried for help.
“Okay,” you say, equally as soft. “But just for the record, I haven’t been the Mockingbird for years. Can’t really call me that either.”
“Why not?” Jason Todd questions, turning around so his back faces you while he observes your apartment. You can see his muscles through his shirt.
Because you were just a kid. Because I liked you. Because you didn’t deserve it. Because Batman didn’t help. Because you were replaced. Because most of my friends laughed it off. Because I couldn’t go after Joker myself. Because I got angry.
“Just grew out of it,” you shrug instead, turning around. You open your dirty fridge and pull out a bottle of lemonade and two glasses. “What are you doing here, Jason?” you say as you pour the drink, your back now turned to him.
“I need your help.”
“Whatever with?”
“I’m thinking of getting a little...” Jason’s voice goes low into something like a masculine purr, “...revenge on Batman.”
“You came back from the dead,” you turn around with two glasses of lemonade, “to get revenge on the Batman? That’s your great plan?”
“No,” Jason says simply. He’s since turned around so he’s facing you. “Screwing with the Batman is just a piece of the fun. He’s nothing.”
Jason accepts the glass that you hand to him. You sit down on your couch in front of his figure. That simple motion is enough to bring out some more dust from your walls. “So what’s the revenge?” you take a sip of the sweet, gritty liquid. It coats your teeth strangely in seconds.
“New Robin. Ever heard of Tim Drake?”
You stop your sip, looking up at the big, broad Jason. You can already tell where this is going. “Uh, Jason? We might wanna let god fix it, because if we fix it, we’re going to jail.”
His brows shoot up. “You hit me in the face with a pipe.”
“I didn’t hit you. You walked into my swing. But you wanna go after the kid, Jason? Really?”
“Yeah.” He crosses his arms so his forearms flex.
“Tim Drake?”
“Yeah.”
You roll your eyes in thought. On one hand, you hadn’t been Mockingbird for years. You stopped when you were eighteen, and you’re twenty one now. Not that it’s helped you very much. You’re still struggling in a shithole, broke and unhappy and no longer able to afford school. And Tim Drake hasn’t really done anything wrong. But on the other hand, Batman is a dick, and you really stopped liking him after what happened to the former Robin. You’d wanted to go after him and the Joker for it, but you’re not far enough in the Gotham food chain for that. Trading swings with Selina was as close as you got.
“Alright.” You stand. You’re not even close to Jason’s height. “Lay out the deal. You got a suit?”
✮ ✭ ✮
And that’s how you and Jason Todd ended up on a roof that night. You, at the crisp age of twenty one, and he at what you suppose is his version of nineteen. Still working on wrapping your head around that one.
You’ve pulled out your Mockingbird suit from under the bed. It was a bit dusty, but not hard to slip into. Everything seems in place. It’s just old. Your voice scrambler is still working okay and all the eyes light up efficiently. Jason’s got a suit too.
“I don’t,” Jason answers, his face suspicious. His eyes are twinkling as he looks down at you. It’s so hard to believe he’s just a boy- or was, last you saw him.
“Don’t worry,” you tell him. “I got you.”
You lead Jason to your room, into your closet, and into a space even farther back where an illuminated glass case the size of several yard sticks stands. It must cost more than your whole apartment. Inside of it is a metal suit like a military uniform, similar to Bruce’s Batsuit but with an Arkham emblem over the chest.
“Call it the Arkham Knight. You like it?”
“Where did you get this?” Jason steps forward, raking his eyes up and down the design. Bruce would hate it.
“I stole it from the Batcave.”
“The whole display case?” Jason snaps to you. Then his brows shoot up and he takes a step closer. “How do you know where the Batcave is?”
“How did you know where my apartment is? And yes, I took the whole case. It was just sitting there.”
Jason turns back around to the suit. It’s growing on him. He admires it. It’s perfect. The Arkham symbol will put the Batman into a state of despair. “Hard to believe you and Selina aren’t friends anymore.”
“We never were,” you mutter back. It’s really not his business that you ended so many partnerships because of his death.
“You’re sure this is the place?” you question. It sends Jason into a state of euphoria, hearing the distorted villainy of your voice again. It feels like the first time too, just like when he saw your face again. It feels how it did when he was fifteen and infatuated with the Mockingbird. It’s almost dizzying. It’s just strange to hear it knowing that now you’re on the same side.
“Yeah,” he answers through his helmet. His voice is distorted too. “This is the place.”
You’re overlooking a Gotham street at night, something you’ve both discovered vigilantes, heroes, and villains do a lot of. Smoke fills the air along with police sirens and building lights. You’re positioned in one of the outer districts though, away from most of the commotion.
“I can’t remember the last time I was here,” you say, half to yourself.
“I can,” Jason says back. “When I ran with Batman. Last year. I was fifteen.” Jason's voice drops. “Or was I...”
You frown behind your own mask. Of course. Jason died four years ago, and he was fifteen when that happened. He came back- you’re not sure when- older and stronger and behind on the changes of the world. He must not know about social media, or the latest television crazes, or the new roads in Gotham. It makes you sad.
All Jason sees when he meets your eyes through his visor is several red slanted lines. You’re both unreadable through your helmets.
“There’s a good restaurant down on this corner,” you both turn back to the street, crouching in wait. “Maybe B-Man likes it.”
“He never eats,” says the ex-Robin. “Never sleeps. Never does anything.”
“You know he broke my buddy Scarecrow’s bones last Halloween?” you scoff. “Literally for not knowing where Black Mask is. Your old boss is weird as hell.”
Jason cocks an eyebrow you can’t see. “Thought you weren’t friends with Scarecrow anymore?”
“Anymore? B-Man keeping tabs on me?”
“He keeps tabs on everyone,” Jason shakes his head. “You’re just a file.”
“Hm,” he hears you say. Contemplate, more like. You speak again after a moment of silence. “Well Scarecrow and me are fine, thank you for asking.”
Jason scoffs. “He your boyfriend or something?”
“My boyfriend’s over in Metropolis.”
Oh.
“How’s your girl?” Your head snaps to Jason at once, hands twitching around. “Or guy.”
He tosses a look to you that you can’t see, but you can guess at. Somewhere between ‘what the hell’ and ‘why the hell’ and an eye roll with furrowed brows.
“Come on. Rose Wilson seems your type. Ooh, Artemis?” You suddenly nudge his arm with your elbow. “Batgirl? Is it Dick?”
Another look is thrown your way. This time it feels more angry. “Whatever, Robin,” you offer lightly.
It dawns on you that perhaps Jason has never had a partner before. That seems more likely, especially after thinking about his situation, and suddenly you feel bad. It’s too late to vocalize an apology now though.
“Fine,” you say at last. “Let’s just stop talking.”
“Let’s do.”
✮ ✭ ✮
It starts raining not long after that.
The drops bounce off your suits harmlessly. There’s still no sign of this Tim Drake and Batman.
“Hey,” you break the silence. “Has anyone ever told you you look exactly like a statue?”
“Must be a resurrection thing.”
“Yep.”
The rain falls harsher.
“So,” Jason begins. “I have to ask. How do you do the- the…” he spins his pointer fingers around rapidly.
“What the fuck are you doing? What is that? No- what is that right there?”
“The thing that you do.”
“I’ve never done that in my life, Jason. What is that? Finger jiu jitsu?”
You hear Jason suck in a breath as he turns away. “You think you’re so funny.”
“You asked me for help. And between the two of us- who has died here? Not me. I’m hilarious.”
“Oh,” he scoffs. “So hilarious.”
“You seemed to think so. When…” your voice trails off. You almost wanted to mention that night in the warehouse to him. A memory of him looking up at you, his hands bound behind his back as he stares in wonder flashes in your mind. But it doesn’t linger for long. Movement in the street catches your eye. “Jason.”
Both your heads snap down to the place below. Sure enough, after a few seconds, a figure steps into view of the moonlight. A skinny kid with dark hair and a bright red and yellow costume. He looks younger than Dick or Jason.
“That’s him,” your partner says. He reaches behind his back and pulls out a long rod. It unfolds with a click that you recognize- the click of a gun.
“What?” you furrow your brows. “Woah- what?”
“I’m gonna shoot him,” Jason tells you casually, fiddling around with the weapon. It’s coming into shape more and more as a sniper rifle.
“That is a child,” you whisper hiss. “He’s like ten!”
“I don’t think he’s ten,” Jason puts his eye over the scope. “This is revenge.”
“Please, do not shoot a child for replacing you in your job of tightie whities vigilante.”
Jason huffs through his mask and looks over at you. “What did you think this was, bird?”
“I thought we were just like, gonna kick him in the balls or something! This is exactly what I meant by ‘we are going to jail’! I told you we should’ve let god fix it!”
“He’ll be fine.”
You knock the rifle out of the Arkham Knights hands with a bang. It clambers across the roof top until it’s nearly over the edge, half on half off.
Jason and you go down at once, shoulder to shoulder in a tackle. Thunder booms overhead. Through his visor, Jason sees you raise a white, gauntleted fist back in a punch, aimed right for his face. Luckily, he manages to catch you by the torso and neck and throw you off.
When he pushes himself to his knee and foot in a kneel, he looks up to find an exact replica of himself. Not literally, of course, but looking at you is like looking into a mirror. Your hand is placed on the rooftop the same way his is. Your knees are bent at the exact same angle as his own. When Jason cocks his head to the side slowly, yours follows him at the same time. So this is what it means to fight the Mockingbird.
He decides to reach for the gun at the side of his leg. He manages to fire once- and miss- a bang going off that he’ll be lucky Drake doesn’t hear over the storm. You knock the gun out of his hands easily, dodging a punch to the stomach before countering with one of your own to his face. It hits the exact same way Jason’s do. He sees your knuckles coming closer to him and almost thinks they’re his own.
Next idea is toss you off the building. Key word: you. Not him.
Jason grips the back of your head through your hood, reaching around. He carries you with him while he stands, tensing his abs as he feels you hammer your elbow away at them. It’s the knee to his crotch that makes him let go and let out a strangled groan.
But before anything else can happen, you spring forward at him in a pounce. Your palms latch onto his shoulders. His feet disconnect from the surface of the roof and the both of you go backwards until neither one of you are on the building at all, over the side.
Jason gets tangled in the emergency stair well. His metal suit clangs against it as he falls and tumbles down, either causing or saving some head injuries. You hit your back on an old street light before landing in a trash bin.
This is it, you manage to think to yourself. Lying in a garbage bin in Gotham at night. And in the rain. This is rock bottom.
I am going to kill everyone on the block for this, thinks Jason.
✮ ✭ ✮
You do eventually get up and remove yourself from the garbage bin. Jason sits at the bottom of the stairs, watching you. You do not exchange words. He does, however, follow you down the street as you essentially stomp.
“Ma’am,” he offers quietly to a gawking older woman.
You enter a small restaurant. More of a diner, really. The door jingles as it opens, and Jason watches you walk to the side until you find a table by the window. You sit down with a huff, tapping one of your helmets red eyes. He shuffles into the space ahead of you, nearly skirting the table across the floor with the bulk of his own muscle and suit. He can feel your judgy eyes on him as he clambers into the seat like a large, run down father.
“Hi there,” a chirpy waitress bounds. She’s a large, redheaded woman in a bright yellow uniform and a hat with a spring connected to a plastic burger on top. It is ridiculous, funny, and you are sadly not in the mood. “My, aren’t you two some interesting looking people! We don’t get a lot of men of metal around here!”
You both look at her silently, masks on but hatred seeping through boredly.
“What can I get you tonight?”
“A gun,” you drawl tiredly, rubbing your palms over your mask.
“We’re not sellin’ those right now, my dear. Something else?”
“Two cheeseburgers would be fine,” Jason speaks up for you.
“Two burgers,” the waitress repeats with a smile, writing it down in her burger notepad. Her cheeks are rosy as she beams happily. “And should I be expecting Superman?”
“Die,” you snap to her, watching her hurry off to the kitchen. Then you put your head down in your folded arms on the table.
Jason glanced around. It’s empty except for the two of you and some dumpy guy in a trucker hat with wide eyes. “What’re you staring at?” Jason all but barks. Normally, he tries to make himself as unnoticeable as possible in public. Not very confident or secure, it seems. But now he’s tired. He just fell down about a million floors worth of metal stairs. It’s late and he lost two of his guns.
“What?” you raise your head, also looking at the trucker hat man. “You’ve never seen two people in superhero suits before?”
“Beat it,” Jason orders.
The man is quick to stand and speed walk away. Still you egg on, “get out of here, bozo!”
“What a fuckin’ prick,” Jason grumbles as he watches the man trip down the street through his view from the window, the door still ringing to signal it’s been opened.
“Yeah,” you agree tiredly.
Your nimble fingers reach up and back to push your white hood from your head. Then they click against the sides of your face and pull the helmet away, revealing your face. You inhale as if you couldn’t get enough air before. Jason watches you, still as a statue, his visor giving him the luxury of being able to monitor your breathing.
“Now what?” you gripe, rubbing your eyes. It can’t be comfortable with all the armor on your hands, but you don’t seem bothered. You must’ve gotten used to it by now.
The Arkham Knight ahead of you only cocks his head to the side slightly. Silent with his helmet. “I’ll help you punch Tim but that’s as far as I’ll go.”
“Why are you defending this kid?” you hear Jason breathe in return. For a split second, electricity runs through you at the sound of his distorted voice, the way his body looks in his suit of armor and how unreadable he is through the helmet. It shocks you all the the way down to your crotch.
“You know,” you begin, eyes widening and voice quieting with a sudden nervousness. “He’s just a kid. Younger than you were.”
Jason scoffs and turns his head away from you, now looking out the window. Gotham is dark and damp outside. “Bullshit,” he scoffs. Then after a few seconds and continues. “Tim Drake and I are the same age.” His head pulls back slightly, fingers giving a strange, sudden twitch. “Or were. We’re-”
You’ll never know what Tim Drake and Jason Todd were. Jason never finishes his sentence, and only his suit flashes with little codes and details to let you know he’s still alive in there. Besides that, he’s as still, lost in sudden thought. You frown and lean in a bit, tapping your elbow with your fingers while you shift uncomfortably. “You’re nineteen, Jason.”
His head twitches again. Now you know he’s heard you. “I’m two years older than you,” you reason. “You’re nineteen.”
He’s quiet for a moment. “Why did you let me go?”
Your eyebrows scrunch and unscrunch. Another wave of electricity shocks down your body, but this time it’s because his voice sounded more like his own. You could hear it under the layers of metal and distortion. But option one is to respond to his question by pretending you don’t know what he’s talking about. That seems like it’s for the best.
“You were just a kid,” you tell him honestly. He silently presses you on. “And I just- I looked at you and I…” I really liked you, kid. Best night I had in years. Made me smile. God, you had to stop working with so many other Gotham city villains just for making jokes about the kid. “You were fifteen,” you say, looking away. “Just a kid.”
Jason watches you. Again, your head turns so you look out the window. He would’ve expected that to be the end of it, but you continue. “Why didn’t you turn me in?”
Jason’s about to pretend to not know what you’re talking about, because it seems like it’s for the best that way. But then he remembers you can’t see anything through his helmet. “What’re you talking about?” he gruffs.
“You saw my face in that warehouse,” you press. “If you had told Batman, I would’ve been to jail. Maybe Arkham. But that never happened. So why didn’t you tell him?”
I was obsessed with you, Jason’s mind screams. In love with you! It hisses, which makes Jason cringe. “Guess you were a kid too.” That’s right. You were seventeen back then. What is that? Last year of high school? You balanced a criminal career and the required education for a minor at the same time. Where were your parents during this?
Jason bites down on his lip hard. Parents. Should shut up about that, probably.
“I’m uh,” you bite your lip and then lick it. “I’m sorry for pushing you. On the roof.”
He shifts. “It’s nothing.”
You turn back to the window. Your arms uncross from atop the table and go to rest in your lap. This close and this still, Jason can make out all the details in your suit. It’s impressive. Kevlar and rubber and plastic, the Riddler had told him. Not the gloves. That’s metal and plastic.
“So,” Jason decides. “How do you that?” Your brows crease in confusion. He tries to do the finger motions he’d down before, which makes you cringe. “The mirroring. And the fighting and the…” he goes through the motions again. “It in your helmet?”
Your confusion sinks away. A new expression washes over your face as you lean in. One finger reaches up, poking your temple and you smile softly. “Bat knowledge.”
Just then, the waitress saves the day. “Two cheeseburgers for the scary suit people!” she beams, setting the plates down. For a second, her breasts are pressed into each of your faces. Jason first, who does not move and you can’t see under the helmet. You bite back a snicker but instead seep a childish look. Then you’re next, and you can feel Jason’s silent laugh under his Arkham Knight suit as your eyes go wide. “Enjoy, dears!”
“Boobs,” you shiver. “Just got boobs in my face.” And then Jason watches you carefully pick up the burger in your dangerous gloves, and take a bite.
Indeed, for the first time that night, the man in front of you reaches up and pulls off his own helmet with a click. You watch it be taken into his large, veiny hands and passed to the edge of the table, against the wall of the window. Then your eyes wander up to his face, which makes you chew slower.
A strong face. Sharp jaw, perfectly in line nose. Lips always pulled into a scowl. Bright eyes with tired circles and scars across his skin. There’s a streak of white in his dark hair you hadn’t noticed at all before, though now it’s practically blaring you in the face. Jason Todd is very handsome.
“What?” he says behind his burger, raising it to his lips but freezing before he can bite into it.
You shrug and focus again on your burger. You hear Jason bite into his own.
“I don’t have any money,” you tell him after a moment, swallowing down a bite.
“Me neither,” Jason answers. He nudges his head towards the window. “There’s an ATM across the street.” You nod in response.
A few bites in you speak again. The minutes have been filled with the noises of chewing and swallowing and yummy meat and cheese. “You ever heard of Mitski?”
Jason swallows his bite, which are bigger than yours. “What?”
“Mitski,” you repeat. “The singer?” Jason shakes his head. “You seem like you’d like her. My boyfriend hates her.”
Jason’s brows twitch.
“Why aren’t you with him?” he questions, taking another bite.
You roll your eyes. “Too expensive. He’s-”
“But he lives there.”
“He just didn’t offer,” you shrug. “I don’t have the money anyway. It’s fine.”
Jason cocks a brow. Your own boyfriend didn’t offer to get you out of this shithole?
You roll your eyes. “We haven’t talked in a long time okay? He’s busy. I’m busy.”
Both of Jason’s brows raise now, almost playfully. “Busy with what?”
You’d be offended if you weren’t busy trying to answer. What were you busy with? After you graduated, money went dry with university. It became less frequent after retiring from the Mockingbird mantle. Most of your jobs were minimum wage and short lived. You’re a bartender now, but not somewhere that’ll keep you going probably. Most days you sit around the apartment or run errands, sometimes hosting Ivy. Last time she’d been over, she’d given you a plant that had quickly died and spoke about Harley quite a bit. And Riddler obviously doesn’t come over anymore. Scarecrow had once but he’s off doing god only knows now.
“Shut up,” you hiss. “What are you busy with?”
“Controlling crime in Gotham,” Jason takes a bite.
“How’s that working out for you?”
“Well.”
“You know you didn’t have to ask me to do this,” you say. “You could’ve just asked someone else. There’s a lot of people in Gotham okay with child killing.”
“I wanted you,” Jason explains. He’s quick to speak again to keep you from thinking about his words. “You were the first person I thought of.”
You’re nearing the end of your burger. “How did you find me?”
Jason shrugs mid-chew. He’s almost done as well. “Riddler.”
“Gave me away that easy?”
“Yep.”
You chew your last bite. It was a good and hearty burger, the cheese melting perfectly against the patty and your tongue.
“You want anything else?” Jason asks.
You watch the street outside, eyes squinting on the ATM. “Jason,” you mutter. “Jason.”
✮ ✭ ✮
Three men snicker as they load up dark blue duffel bags. They’re slimey and smelly, like an old sewer. Money falls from the machine like a waterfall.
Their success doesn’t last long.
One of them comes in contact with the Mockingbird’s elbow and slams his head into a brick building. The other two are just inexplicably on the ground, incapacitated while the Arkham Knight stands overhead.
“Fuck,” you breathe through your helmet. “I missed this.”
Jason’s just picked up the duffel bag when the sudden sound of sirens blare through the air. It’s close. Too close.
“Well that’s no good,” you mutter. You turn to Jason, taking a sharp step forward. “Give it to me.”
His brows furrow under the mask.
“I’ll pay the waitress,” you say. “You run.”
Jason reaches behind his belt and shifts the weight of the bag into one hand. A gun appears- a small handgun. You duck down as he raises it at you, holding your head down as the BANG! rings through the air.
You stand back to your feet, bracing yourself at the sudden sight. The Arkham Knight charges you, but only to pick you up like you’re nothing and jump through the glass window he previously shot at. The adrenaline makes things hazy, but you can see the blue and red lights now. It doesn’t matter. The two of you fly across what turns out to be a pawn shop, burst through the back door and back room until you hit the cold outside air of Gotham again. Multiple doors slam shut behind you. You’re both out of breath and panting, and it’s raining again. This time in an alleyway.
But the cops won’t follow you out here.
It’s quiet besides the panting from you two. Jason has more endurance, you’re sure, but you can hear his breathing inside his helmet. He lets the duffel bag slip out of his grasp as you double over. “I did miss that,” you offer. “Running from the police.” The Arkham Knight just continues his breathing.
“Thank you,” you tell him.
✮ ✭ ✮
Two days after the incident, you enter your apartment lazily. Your keys are tossed onto the island counter before you wander through your mail. One of your letters is from Ed in Arkham, warning you about “some big guy asking about you”. A bit late for that now. You haven’t heard from Jason since that night.
It isnt until you go to sit on your couch that you notice a large, nearly bursting open envelope. Your fingers stretch to reach it, examining it. No return address, but written in pen in sloppy letters is the word “Bird”. Luckily, it doesn’t feel like a bomb. It feels more soft but firm.
You open the envelope. Your breathing hitches, breath slowing when you see what’s inside. Then a smirk comes over your face.
Just then, dust falls from your shitty apartment ceiling.
✮ ✭ ✮
A week after the failed Tim Drake incident, a young man decides to pay a visit to your building. He is tall and strong, with raven hair laced with a white streak at the front. He frowns at everything, ducking his head to make himself smaller and less noticeable. He cares not for being perceived by other people. He’s well aware of how he looks.
The man’s knuckles tap against apartment 317. He shifts, looking back and forth. The man is quite attractive in is casual red hoodie and jeans, but he wants to be out of the open as soon as he can. After a moment, there is no response from inside.
He scrunches his brows and knocks again. When he takes a step closer, he can hear something from the inside. Music. A piano and drums and maybe an organ?
Jason twists the door knob with ease and steps ahead and inside. The apartment is completely and totally empty. The music becomes louder and more clear. It’s a female singer he doesn’t recognize.
Only the bones of the kitchen remain. Counters, cabinets, a sink, and an old fridge. There’s mold in the corner of the space. But in the middle of the floor where the couch and living room used to be is a cluster of things. Things meant for Jason Todd.
The man eyes the pile for a few seconds. Then he sets towards it. The first thing he recognizes is a CD player with the volume turned all the way up. He still doesn’t know the song.
Besides the player is a suit he’s quite familiar with. It’s clunky, but folded as neatly as it can be given that it’s made of metal. On the top is the helmet that gives it away. The Arkham Knight suit. It sits on a dark duffel bag in front of a small white piece of paper with the promise of ink inside. Jason decides to open that first.
You’re coming back… and it’s the end of the world…
Haha! I knew you’d show up!
Jason nearly rolls his eyes at the first sentence.
Thanks for the money. I know it was you. Thanks for the fun night too. Sorry about hitting your balls. They felt really big if that makes you feel better.
It didn’t.
I was thinking of Metropolis, but what do you know, me and the boy toy decided it might be better to hold off on it. I got a bit of dirt on the kid by the way. You’ll find it on the back of this paper. Oh and I hope you like the Mitski soundtrack. I bet Drake’s the kind too. I’m going to keep the Mockingbird suit if you don’t mind. I guess our night of fun kinda reignited an old flame. Don’t even think about coming after me.
Son of a bitch, Jason internally screams.
I have a gift for you though. You get the Arkham Knight. You look good in it. And a little something extra in the bag by the way.
Love, Mockingbird.
I just need a quiet place… where I can scream, how I love you…
Indeed, inside the duffel bag Jason Todd finds some cash and red fabric with an R emblem over the chest. He doesn’t need to pull the rest out to understand what it is. He decides not to question how you got his old Robin suit or when, but lets himself smile a bit, his chest expanding with his breath. It’s a real smile too.
You’ve given Jason everything he needs to go after Tim Drake himself.
✮ ✭ ✮
I hope I’ve ruined everyone’s day. You think I would let the reader and Jason be happy together? You absolute baffoon. Maybe I’ll make a part three for gits and shiggles though. I’m not sure about this one. Definitely more based around their interactions than the drama unlike the first one. It was fun though. I hit the paragraph limit. I think I did a good job with the chemistry. I do apologize for giving the reader a real set in stone age though. I don’t like to to that because I think it takes away the point of having a ‘reader’. Also if you’re vegetarian please just eat a cheeseburger it’s so good y’all are weird. Oh and fun fact I just got a Red Hood tattoo on Saturday! Look at me go!

The mad laughter rung out into the night sky as the purple Lamborghini hit corners with violently sharp turns. "Oh puddin I just love family night!~" The pale platinum blonde giggled as the man with green dyed hair licked his smiling lips. A bubble of laughter came from the back seat he turned around to see his princess looking out the small back window. "Batsy batsy batsy" Her low/high pitched giggle caused a crazy chain reaction as the bat mobile hurried to catch up. "Always ruining our fun, huh, princess?" The clown king shifted his gray-ish blue order into the mirror grinning making the scars on his face raise into a sinister smile at the look of pure chaos in his daughter's e/c eyes. "Not tonight! Not on my birthday!!" She said as she smiled reaching under the seat to pull out a Tommy gun. Climbing to the front seat sitting on her mothers lap she leaned out the passenger window. "Go back to the Rat cave your not gonna put a downer on my weekend!" Y/n yelled shooting off round towards the tires, windshield, and headlights.
The mobile didn't seem to have a scratch as as a motorcycle pulled up beside it. Slipping back in the car the younger women pouted looking at get parents. "He called his little birdie no doubt the replacements in the car." Y/n huffed as she dug around for more fire power. "Puddin we have a visitor.~" The red mask gazed at us as he lifted a forearm pistol. Shots were fired and Joker took a hard right almost like tron the motorcycle quickly turned into a ally to avoid being hit. "Sorry Princess might have to cut tonight shot." He said licking his lips as a thump came from the roof making the youngest clown snarl her eye crazed as she shot above her as the purple car swerved wildly. "YOU'RE RUINING MY BIRTHDAY,BATS!!!" Y/n cackled madly a mixture of her parents laughed till the magazine ran out.
They got to one of their warehouses where Jokers men were armed to the teeth. The clown mask had black soulless eyes and immediately fired the moment the batmobile entered. Y/n skipped out of the purple Lamborghini she got on her tippy toes and kissed her dad on the cheek. "I got the hooded punk. Can you clip the bats wings for me...a little present?!" He laughed as he armed himself with a shotgun. "Anything for my princess." The f/c sf/c female clown skipped away knowing that the motorcycle riding vigilante was hot on her tail. That's how she found herself on the roof tops jumping the gaps as heavy footfalls followed. Her loud laugh echoed as she leaped to a smaller building hiding behind a vent the moment the brown leather jacket came into view she tackled the tall man. They were both panting as a grin pulled on the clowns lips.
Y/n POV
"Caught ya,Jay bird." I giggled pulling of the helmet his apple green eyes covered by a second mask stared at me he chuckled as his hand slipped above his head in mock surrender. "Yeah you caught me,beautiful." Leaning down I kiss him my hands pushed into his cheeks my thumb running over the scarred J. We've been dating for awhile now ever since dad kidnapped the second Robin at seventeen. I was fifteen at the time and dad had me at his side as he tortured him.I was always there to stitched him up and put burn cream after shock therapy I didn't know how we got attached maybe because he wanted to rebel a little by talking to me or someone around his age saw the same if not worse shit.
Six years ago(Y/n 15 Jason 17)
"Why are you helping me?" Looking up his head was strapped down along with his arms and legs. I shrugged my shoulders I knew who he was if I wiped off the make up and temp dyed my hair I was the honor student in the same class as him. Jason Todd anyone with eyes had a thing for him,but after removing his mask it wasn't hard to piece together who the bat fam is. "I know what my dad has planned for you Jay. This is just a band-aid on a gunshot wound and might I say that's very unhelpful." This was the first I spoke to him and it wasn't long before Dad beat him to death.
Two years later.
I sat in the back of the car as Frost drove. We just left the cemetery. "Why are we doing this,n/n." He asked looking in the rear view mirror at me. I'm seventeen now my thoughts screamed at me. Why was I trying to bring him back? "Because I crazy that why!" I giggled as we grew closer to the lazapit. He was dressed in a black suit with red tie his body sunk into the water as I waited. A loud gasp drew my attention as he shot up a white streak in his hair. "Heya sleeping beauty." Looking over in shock he lowly made his way looking like a baby deer. "I'm alive, but h-how?" His green eyes looked at me. "A Ghoul owed me a few favors I just asked to use his fountain of youth." Handing him a towel and some clothes. "Sorry about the outfit, but Arkham does have one size fits all." Jason chuckled as he started to dry off.I realized why I brought him back. I was crazy about him.
Two more years later(two years ago)
Jason wanted to stay dead he didn't go back to His dad and brother after he realized that neither of them tried and save him. It was sad to see,but it brought Jason closer to me and he started to trust me and I gave trust in return. Blood coated my hands while some was on my face. Looking at Jay some was speckled on his cheeks taking the pockets square out of the mobsters coat I wiped it off he looked down at me his arm slipped around my waist pulling me closer my breath hicked. "Will you be my girlfriend,my little jester?" A large smile grew on my face as my arms went around his neck pulling him down further. "Gladly,Jay bird." I kissed him not caring if my lipstick stained his lips and he didn't seem to care either as the kiss grew more intense. We shared our first kiss at nineteen surrounded by dead bodies as sirens and the unmistakable sound of the armed batmobile. At least he's as crazy about me as I am about him.
One year ago. (Jason POV for a sec)
I came to Bruce I hate to admit it but I needed advice about the one think he knew best. Women. It was just a couple of months ago he found out I was alive and shocker he managed to drive Dicky boy to Blüdhaven to get away from him to get his own image and not just Robin. Oh and surprise surprise when out of robins he had a spare like a tire and it's name was Tim. Nevermind that I stood across from Bruce in his home main office he had a frown on his face. "You're dating someone and its serious and I didn't know about it?" He asked trying to deduct everything. "I've been dating her ever since I came back. As strange as it might sound, but I want us to be something more." That's when the billionaire playboy stood up standing just a inch shorter then myself.
"Life is short Jason and you've experienced that first hand if you feel that both of you are perfect enough to be more then go for it." Perfect wasn't realistic nothing was ever perfect my life isn't perfect her life sure as hell isn't she's the clown princess I'm a bat son. Maybe that what makes us so good together the fact that it would have never really happened any other way life is just crazy like that.
Present
Staring into those vexing green eyes always brought me back. We're both twenty-one him being older only by a couple of months. "Happy birthday, gorgeous." His voice brought me back as my smile grew. We were standing up now he held a box wrapped in my two favorite colors. "Awe you shouldn't have." I grab it and opened it a gun was inside it was red and gold revolver it looked like my moms love/hate gun,but it said King/Queen. Looking at Jay I reached to hug him when suddenly he dropped to one knee pulling out a box with a beautiful f/c ring and ruby gem. "This feels over due. You took care of me when I was considered enemy number one. You brought me back from the grave when my own family didn't try. And this might sound stupid, but I had a crush on you in middle school you were one of the only people that didn't give me pity after Bruce adopted a street kid." He licked his lips as he gave of a small smile. "Together we are far from perfect, but we are good. You complete me...Y/n M/n Napier become my queen?" My eyes glossed over with tears my make up running down the pale foundation. "Oh my god of course!!!" I jumped into his arms hugging him tightly before letting him slip on the ring. "I love you." "I love you more crazy." I chuckle it sounded watery in my throat. "If I'm crazy then that makes two of us. You wanted to marry me." Yep we're both batshit crazy.

I really love you blog!! I was wondering if you had any comic rec for timsteph or for tim&cass in particular I'm trying to read more of his canon stuff. Also what are your thoughts on Helena?
Hi! Thank you! I'm glad you're enjoying the dumping of thoughts 🤭
Helena is a perfect example of a byronic hero and I love her very much. Compassion and anger perfectly blended together. I have not read Birds of Prey so I have missed most of her character development moments, but I think I'm one of the few who adore her New 52 appearances, specifically in Grayson. She's not the same character, but both versions I think are pretty neat. I do miss her and Tim's relationship, and I think it would be deeply funny if she had ended up adopting Tim after his father's death rather than Bruce. What a nightmare that would have been.
For TimSteph comic recs see here - I put my fave issues together for them just the other day! It's not comprehensive, but it's the issues of them I enjoy and the ones that colour my reading of them the most.
As for Tim and Cass... Apologies if I skip some titles here and there - it has been a good five years since I have read Cass's solo stuff (except no apologies for skipping one year later stuff, I'm trying to keep it about them growing closer). This is roughly in chronological order. Hopefully I haven't missed anything too major!
Early Days
Legends of the Dark Knight (1989) #120 - First Meeting. They don't have much to do with eachother for the remainder of No Man's Land, but a couple more moments can be found in:
Robin (1993) #73 - "She's my guardian angel? To tell you the truth, she kind of gives me the creeps."
Batgirl (2000) #18 - Tim apologises for judging Cass
More under the cut~
Working Together
Bruce Wayne Murderer/Fugitive - They don't pop up much together in the whole arc but I still think it's worth reading the trades for this storyline because it's just a very good Batfam story when Bruce isn't being intensely annoying and moping and being unhelpful. Babs, Tim, Dick and Cass actually do the investigating and crime solving, so it's a good arc to read for them if you want to read more canon stuff.
Batgirl (2000) #30-32 - Tim pops up halfway through, but this is a fun little arc staring a Connor Hawke, Tim, Steph and Cassandra team up.
Gotham Knights (2000) #45 - Part of a larger arc of Bruce's parenting skills being called into question, Cass, Tim and Dick have a sweet interaction which shows her sort of within and outwith relationship to the Wayne Family at the time
Batgirl (2000) #45 - Tim finds the Batgirl suit a turn on. This is slightly disturbing in hindsight but hey. It only becomes relevant again when Steph puts it on years later.
Superman/Batman (2003) #5 - Batfam and Superfam of the early 2000s comes to the aid of Batman and Superman after they're made enemies of Luthor's government. Tim and Cass have a cute interaction here, showing they're more playful now.
Gotham Knights (2000) #46 - Pretty sure this is one of the most morally awful things the batfam have ever done, tormenting this poor dude for shits and giggles, but Tim and Cass have some good banter. #47-49 follow this, a small arc about Bane's ongoing parental crisis. Cass potentially makes Tim soil himself with her flying. Quite amusing.
Losing Stephanie
Robin and Batgirl Fresh Blood (Issues 132, 58, 133, 59 of their series) - Tim and Cass after Steph's murder move to Bludhaven. It's sad and painful and awkward and neither of them know how to comfort the other.
Batman Allies Secret Files and Origins (2005) and their story 'Taking Sides'. I really like this short story.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand I am now going to skip most of the rest of the 2000s for Tim and Cass.
Tumblr media
You can ask a Cass centric blog why. It's too long to get into here.
Nearing Flashpoint
Red Robin (2009) #17 and #25 - Tim goes to efforts to bring Cass home and back to Gotham
Gates of Gotham (2011) - Tim successfully gets Cass to come home to Gotham.
Post Flashpoint
They sadly do not get much one on one time after 2011. Cass returns in Batman and Robin Eternal in 2015, but I can't genuinely recommend it due to Tim and Cass have little to no contact time, and what there is, is not... hugely informative. They also star together in Tynion's Detective Comics run (#934-981) but Tim is out of the picture between #940 and #967 (for Cass at least). There's a couple of sweet moments here and there, but largely they do their own thing distinctly from each other.
And that's it really! :( I wish they had more...
Still, I hoped this helped anon! Enjoy!
