~~ ~~ ~~ About his relations with Tia: He quite openly dislike Tia, with the deep-rooted hate, caused during his childhood. When his own mother was treating Tia much better than him, always putting the 9 years older boy on pedestal- while he was often pushed away, mostly due to his problems with learning and communicating. That unfairness became a source of his aversion and ongoing conflict. About his companions: As Reaper he called a voidsent to serve as his avatar- and because he was always fascinated by the void and everything that comes with it, he formed sort of friendship with it, letting it accompany him not only during battles. One day, his talented alchemist friend created a humanoid vessel for that voidsent and from now on Ava, the Miqo'te girl, is always at his side- be it in that form, as avatar or a black carbuncle. But Ava carried another soul with her- shard of her from the Source, named Kult, who happened to accidentally wander into the Void and was eventually killed. Kai himself also finds out that there's another soul following him- this time his own shard. A half-voidsent named Adam. Various facts: -Kai is autistic and has big issues with learning, reading (dyslexia), expressing himself etc; -he's a very picky eater and will rather starve than eat something that "doesn't feel right", however Adam keep eye on him to make sure he does eat enough; -he hates being touched by random people and only allows that to those who are close to him; -Adam, his shard, can "swap" with him, using Kai's body as vessel.
