“I’m about five minutes away” you glanced at the rear view mirror checking on your dog Willow.

You approached the porch of your mom and handed her your dog’s leash before heading off.

“Everything should be still left over from the other bag I left you for him. His food and treats should last until Sunday.” You scurried over to walk off the porch in a hurry to enjoy some freedom.

“Yea yea we’ll be fine.. just us two. We get along just fine” Willow watched you intensely with his ears pulled back wondering where his owner was off to.

“Thank you, you're the best!” You waved your hand bye before backing out of the driveway.

You drove back home and looked at your big house of a mess. There was dirty clothes laid everywhere and dishes in the sink from this morning. Meanwhile, your boyfriend sat lazily on the sofa without a care in the world.

“Aren’t you supposed to be packing for the work trip with me tomorrow?” You walk in front of the tv and block his view.

“Yep and I already did bae” he pointed to his black duffle bag in the corner of the room.

You laugh and shake your head. “I still need to pack can you at least help straighten up the living room or the kitchen while I look for some clothes myself?”

You gave him a cheeky grin before moving to your bedroom.

Shang Chi pulled himself off the sofa and watch you off into the hallway. He smirked looking at your bottom in those pants.

As you went into your room you spot your own luggage and look into the closet you had.

“Options options..” you push your clothes back and forth looking at the same outfits you already own. But you spot a sundress in the corner of your closet that you haven’t worn yet.

You weren’t sure if it fit well enough and went to ask your boyfriend. Shang Chi was located in the kitchen doing the dishes. Before you called his attention, you watch him for a quick second being grateful for the man that he was. Your head slightly leaned against the doorway softly calling his name.

“Hey babe” you gave a sheepish smile. Shang Chi was leaned over the sink with the sleeves of his hoodie rolled up just enough to expose his biceps.

“What’s up?” He rinsed off a bowl with ease.

“Do you like this dress?” You slowly expose yourself from the corner of the hall and give a goofy pose.

Shang Chi gave a huge laugh before responding back. “Turn around let me see the back” he chuckled. You turned around to reveal your backside.

“It looks nice babe, you should come a little closer so I can get a better view of it” he smirked.

“Why? So you can feel something?” You giggled while doing a seductive walk over to him. Shang Chi dried his hands on a towel and leaned his back against the counter.

Later that night you woke up dizzy and snuck out of bed without waking Shang chi. You quietly closed the bathroom door and flicked the light on. In your pantry, you rummaged through the shelves for an emergency pregnancy test.

“I’m such an idiot,” you thought to yourself. You totally forgot to get the plan B weeks ago and now without question, you’re knocked up.

You took the test and sat on the toilet seat wondering what to do. With all the stress and tiredness built up inside you, this was the last thing to add to your life problems. The two lines on the test displayed with no lie in between. You took a deep breath and reluctantly snatched the test off the counter. You turn off the light and opened the bathroom door. You climbed back into bed and pulled Shang Chi’s arm back around your body.

“Shang Chi” you gently patted his bare chest.

“Mhmm” he responded.

“I’m pregnant” you whispered into his ear. “Oh, that’s good babe that means my plan worked” he slurred.

“You said we were going to plan this???” your voice hitched.

the mcu is anything but subtle

some ppl are saying that phase 4 has no buildup, no theme, and they have no idea where it's trying to go. The first ten years assembled avengers, introduced infinity stones, introduced thanos, set the stakes, etc., etc., and ppl are expecting that of phase 4

with the looming backdrop of the multiverse now introduced and explained, marvel can start assembling new groups: the young avengers and the dark avengers.

Peter parker is no longer a young ingenue letting his hand be held, he's a seasoned hero prepared to keep fighting on his own. This makes way for the next generation of young heroes

Tommy and Billy were introduced first, in Wandavision, and we meet more tangible versions of them in dsatmom

we met kid loki in Loki

in tfatws we met joaquin torres and issac bradley. we also met two new antagonists, john walker and valentina de allegra, and we know valentina is forming her own team. symbolically, a group of young humans tried to make themselves heroes and failed tragically. we need better young heroes

we have our black widow replacment, yelena belova, apparently a dark avenger. then our next young avenger, kate bishop.

america chavez and kamala khan have just entered the stage

ironheart has been greenlit? i think? i haven't been keeping up with everything, so I'm sure there are more references

am i excited for all this? i mean, not really. i am really curious to see if marvel pits certain powerhouse ladies against each other, e.g. sharon carter vs valentina de allegra vs xialing. i really want to see that deadly chess match. add to this the likelihood of shuri being crowned as the next black panther and ngl i havs chills up my spine. at least four other adult, female heroes have also been introduced, so we may even see an all-female team in the near future

Marvel's plans are so blatantly obvious to anyone with a weak grasp of the comics (me) that missing them is just a choice*. a choice i thoroughly respect after the plot "huhs?" of endgame

Marvel isn't losing it's marbles. The audience just stopped caring.
