Summary: It's been centuries since Ganondorf's victory in bringing Hyrule to its knees. However, victory is lonelier than he'd anticipated. The once great Demon King is a shadow of his former self, drinking his way through the castle's wine cellars and mumbling to himself in the dark. That is until one brave stranger wanders through the castle gates, led by curiosity...Or perhaps fate.

In the remnants of a castle once grand but now desolate, Ganondorf wanders the halls alone. Some days he is focused on working his way through the wine cellar, but other days he mutters quietly as he wonders where it all had gone wrong. He’d achieved everything he wanted. He sits upon the throne of Hyrule, the entire realm under his control, yet as centuries pass the emptiness in his chest persists. Even the people of the realm stretching from the deserts of Gerudo to the flatlands of Akkala noticed the grip of the once fearsome ruler lessening. Only occasionally would he exert his dominance again, as though only to remind them he is still present. Even the darkness of his gloom seemed to fade from the landscape as life returned to normal for the people of the realm. Tales of the great demon king who once took over the kingdom are still passed from grandparents' mouths to the eager ears of children, but Ganondorf as they speak of him almost feels like fiction.
It was this sense of safety and curiosity that led you to Hyrule Fields. A thin layer of snow is falling on the landscape as you walk through the fields. Your eyes widen as you see the castle, and the now-empty town surrounding it. The walls are covered in a thick layer of ivy vines, now brown and barren from the cold air. You carefully walk forward, tiptoeing past the gloomy black and red sludge as you pass through the gates. As you explore the once great Castle Town, you remember the stories you’d been told as a child. The horrible stories of a great big demon who took the form of a horrible pig. Every little noise sent your mind into a frightened frenzy, and you were beginning to wonder if staying here much longer was worth indulging your long-held curiosity about the castle.
Ganondorf became aware of the intrusion when he wandered outside of the master bedroom onto the balcony. He looked down to see the tiny form of a Hyrulian woman poking around the old stalls in the market. Every so often he noticed her flinching and looking around as though frightened. Her attention soon turned to the wide doors of the castle. He recognized her intentions almost immediately, and he threw on a cloak to meet her at the door.
When you push open the double doors, you let out a squeak of surprise at the large figure looming at the bottom of the stairs. Long red hair falls in front of his face and glowing yellow eyes stare at you with malice as he growls.
“What are you doing here?” his voice, even as a whisper, echoes through the empty halls.
“I’m sorry,” you stammer as you try to back away. You trip over your own feet and fall backward.  Just before you hit the ground, a large hand catches the front of your cloak. Suddenly, your feet are no longer on the ground. Ganondorf lifts you to force you to look into his eyes.
“I asked a question, little one,” he snarls. “What are you doing here?”
“I’m sorry, Your Highness,” you stammer as your hands instinctively come to his wrist, grabbing on in case he drops you. “I thought--”
“You thought the castle to be empty,” he finishes your thought. “Perhaps I have been too kind to your people, allowing them to live too comfortably. My existence having been relegated to folklore and legend, is that it?”
“No!” you cry out, the thought of your kingdom being punished for your stupidity makes your skin crawl and your chest tightens with guilt. “No, it’s just…Me…I was curious.”
“Oh,” he pulls you closer. “Curious? You wish to see my castle?”
His words lull you into a false sense of comfort as you mistake his annoyance for understanding, “Yes, your Highness.”
“I see, little one,” he throws you over his shoulder. “You wish to see my castle and know its secrets. I see…Well, I shall make sure you spend all the time you have left within the walls of this castle.”
He walks you upstairs and tosses you into an empty bedroom. Before you can scramble to your feet the door is being slammed shut, and you hear the unmistakable click of a lock trapping you inside. You crawl to the door, standing on your knees as you bang on it desperately with shaking fists.
“Please,” you call out. “I’m sorry! Please let me out! I’ll leave! I promise I won’t tell anyone I saw you!”
Your cries and pleas fall on deaf ears. Ganondorf closed himself off to emotions like pity and empathy long ago. He ascends the remaining stairs to go to the master bedroom once more. He grabs his earlier forgotten bottle of wine and throws himself into his chair. He throws his head back and finishes the bottle in one long gulp. His heart is racing as he thinks about you. Your pitiful eyes as you tried to explain yourself, and then your tiny hands on his wrist to cling to stability. There’s something about your curiosity and bravery that piqued his interest. He can’t remember the last time someone ventured to the castle.
Your cries and pleas continue for hours until you wear yourself out from exhaustion. You crawl onto the old bed and you begin sobbing until you fall asleep.
_____
Ganondorf awakens when the sun is high in the sky. He has almost forgotten about having locked you away. You on the other hand have been awake since dawn. You’ve torn the room apart in search of some sort of escape. Realizing the king had you locked up tight, you felt a wave of defeat crash over you.
“Damn it all,” you cried out and fell onto the bed with an annoyed sigh. Tears sting your eyes, but you try to hold them back.
You could feel Ganondorf approaching before you could see him. His looming presence was difficult to ignore. He pushed the door open, not feeling even a moment of remorse as he saw your pathetic form on the bed.
“You’re lucky it’s been ages since I’ve had anyone in this castle,” he speaks. “I require a new servant.”
You sit up on the bed, turning to him with a look of indignation.
“Who says I’m trying to become a servant?” you ask. Immediately you regret the question when his eyes begin to glow with anger. He reaches out to grab you by the collar of your dress, and easily he lifts you off the ground just like before.
“The alternative is death,” he growls.
You had no choice but to give in to him. He drops you back onto the bed before turning away. His imposing figure stalks to the door, only stopping for a moment to look over his shoulder at you.
“Start by cooking breakfast,” he says, his voice a perpetual growl.
You don’t know what else to do. There’s not much you can do besides go along with his orders. You go downstairs, and it takes a bit of searching before you find the kitchen. There’s almost no food in the pantries, only a few things you assume he must have gathered on his own at some point, or perhaps those from neighboring villages brought in the goods as offerings. You’re staring up at the shelves trying to plan a meal when his shadow looms over you.
“A farmer nearby brings supplies,” his voice booms through the pantry. “In return, I keep the monsters off his sheep.”
“Why would you?”
He answers your question with another, “What threat does a farmer hold to my rule?”
You don’t turn to him, instead, you reach up to the high shelf where there’s a bag of flour to try to reach it. You expect him to help you, but he doesn’t. He stands back and smirks as you climb up the shelves to grab the bag of flour and start to pull it slowly in the hope you can shimmy it down. Instead, it falls and bursts on the floor.
“Now you have a breakfast to cook and a mess to clean,” he chuckles. “It’s good to see you can keep yourself busy.”
He leaves you alone, and you manage to clean up. Then, you cook a nice meal considering what little you have to work with. After that, he tells you to pick a room and begin cleaning.
The days continue in this manner. You cook and clean in the castle. Occasionally you manage to tease some semblance of conversation from him, if grunts and the occasional sarcastic quip can be considered as such. To your surprise, he’s not cruel to you. He’s just cold, almost apathetic as far as you can tell. You’re mostly kept to your own devices, which is lonely. As long as you do the chores, he doesn’t have much to say.
Considering his indifference, you didn’t think he would put in any effort to stop your escape. Being able to explore the castle on your own for so many hours of the day, it had taken you a week to muster up the courage to try to leave. However, as soon as you passed through the gate gloom hands surprised you and dragged you back to your quarters. If he had known of your attempt to escape, he never spoke a word of it to you.
_____
Ganondorf isn’t accustomed to having company anymore. The centuries have passed, and his former companions have fallen by the wayside. Either having fallen in battle or to the ravages of time. He tells himself he’s a lonely old fool the first time his heart races when you attempt to make casual conversation with him.
His heart pounds even more so when you shyly ask if he misses being in Gerudo Town. Nobody over the years ever had the bravery to ask such a deeply personal question. You were sitting on the sofa by the fire mending a hole in your skirt when the question fell from your lips as simply as asking if the sky is blue. He looked up from the flames.
“What a bold question little one,” he commented as he took a deep breath to prepare his answer. “I miss my sisters most of all, but none of the sisters I knew are living any longer. Those who inhabit that place are now strangers to me as I am to them.”
A pang of sadness hits your chest, “Are there other things you miss?”
“No, not necessarily. The blistering sun and unforgiving sands hold no sentiment except for how they made me strong.”
“I see,” you say and quickly return to mending your clothes.
“You need more attire,” he says.
“You don’t need to worry about that.”
“Ah, but you’re wrong. It is because of me that you are here, therefore it is my responsibility to care for you.”
Your mind feels blank for a moment. Was that kindness? From the mouth of the demon king himself? Before you can say anything, he rises from his seat. He doesn’t bid you goodnight before disappearing. Nor do you notice him locking the castle up like he usually does at night.
The next morning when you awaken, there’s a a pile of neatly folded clothes placed on the armchair in your room. You look through the clothes carefully. Among the more casual pants and blouses, you also find a beautiful gown. The material is soft, emerald green with gold floral embroidery along the hems. You assume it must have been by mistake that he brought something so elegant and beautiful to you. With great care, you hang the gown in the wardrobe, where among the shelves you find a new pair of shoes and a winter cloak.
You get ready for your day, dressing in the new clothes he brought, and then busy yourself with chores. It’s nearly night when you hear Ganondorf stir. Looking to thank him for his gesture, you quickly make your way towards the staircase to greet him. However, the words are caught in your throat when you see him.
He’s dressed in a fine, majestic robe. You recognize the patterns on it as being Gerudo. His hair is tied back, and the red beard that had been down to his chest when you arrived is neatly trimmed back up to his jawline.
“Did you have something to say?” he asks, hoping to put a stop to your wide-eyed gaping. How long has it been since someone looked upon him with awe rather than fear?
“Y-you look nice,” you smile shyly, having forgotten your original intentions for the moment.
“Ah, yes,” he nods.
You look down to the floor again then the thoughts return to your mind. You bounce softly on your toes and your eyes light up.
“Thank you for bringing me new clothes!”
“I told you I would,” he comes down the rest of the stairs and looks down on you but not with malice. “Did you find the gown?”
Your eyes widen. So it hadn’t been a mistake?
“Y-yes, I did! It’s so beautiful.”
“I was hoping you’d wear it tonight,” he doesn’t sound as authoritative as he’d hoped to.
“Oh, sure. I’ll put it on after dinner.”
“No, don’t worry about dinner. Go change now.”
With a short, courteous bow you make your exit. Upstairs in your room, you quickly bathe and then slip into the beautiful gown. Upon inspecting your appearance, you decide a bit more effort needs to go into it if you’re to wear such an opulent outfit. You brush your hair and braid it neatly.
As you set to work on your appearance, you wonder what Ganondorf has planned for the evening. You’ve never seen him quite so…Handsome. He’s all cleaned up and dressed like the true king he is. Surely he wouldn’t go to so much effort for you, would he? No, you tell yourself that’s not possible. Perhaps he’s just having a bit of fun with you. After all, he’s been in this castle by himself for centuries. It would make sense for him to take to a bit of fanciness since he has someone around to share it with.
Somehow imagining him seeing you as more than just a servant makes your heart flutter. You tell yourself you must be insane for thinking this way. Yet, he’s become more than a master to you. You’ve spent long nights sitting by the fire, listening to his tales of times long past. Somewhere among hearing his childhood tales of starvation and heat among his people and witnessing the opulence Hyrule hoarded, you began to understand his anger. Perhaps you couldn’t fully condone his path, but you could understand why he would grow to desire the conquering of the kingdom. You began to see through the dark, foreboding reputation of the demon king.
As you descend the stairs, you notice more light in the castle than you’re used to at this time of night. The grand chandelier in the main hall has been lit along with the chandeliers on the stone walls throughout the corridor leading into the ballroom, as though lighting your path. As you open the large double doors, you see a dining table set up by the large windows looking out onto the courtyard. It’s filled to the brim with fruit, cheese, and dried meats. A bottle of wine is chilled by two glasses. Ganondorf stands nearby, his back straight as he stares out the window with his hands locked behind him.
“Your majesty,” you say to get his attention.
He turns to you, his eyes widening momentarily before his face returns to being neutral.
“You look lovely,” he whispers, almost too quiet for you to hear it. You bow politely.
“Thank you,” you smile.
“I have set up dinner,” he explains. “You asked me once what it was like being the king of the Gerudo. I thought I would show you how I ate then.”
“Oh?” You approach the table, and he quickly pulls the chair out for you. You thank him as you sit down.
“The heat was intense. So, I often tried to eat light yet still filling meals. I ate considerably more than this, of course, but I thought you’d appreciate having more variety.”
“You put this together?”
He smiles as he begins pouring the wine, “Yes, of course. Can’t I do things for myself? Or do you wish to take care of me completely?”
Your cheeks heat up at his double entendre. It takes you a moment to regain your bearings, trying not to imagine what all ‘taking care’ of him might entail.
“I suppose it’s just unexpected.”
He places a glass of wine by your hand, and you hear a deep chuckle from him as he sits across from you.
“Believe it or not, back then I didn’t have many servants. The Gerudo people are prideful therefore believe it or not, they didn’t bow to me like I was a child in need of praise. I was proud to be self-sufficient.”
“I see,” you smile. “So, what is all this?” you gesture to the ballroom all lit up and with a few flower arrangements scattered about.
“I thought you might enjoy a bit of grandeur,” he sighs. “Must you ask so many questions?”
Your cheeks burn as you look down at your plate, “I only wished to know.”
“All in due time,” he answers before beginning to pile his plate with food.
You follow along, taking a bit of all of the offerings. It was a nice, light meal. Leaving you full, yet still energetic instead of ready to fall asleep in your chair. The wine made your cheeks burn and your muscles feel loose. Ganondorf encourages you to eat more if you need more, and you’re surprised by the way he seems to be taking such care of you even though he doesn’t seem the kind to have a caring bone in his body.
After the two of you finish your meals, he takes your hand and leads you to the middle of the ballroom. He explains that he wishes to teach you some of the traditional Gerudo dances. He explains how often in his time as King, the dances would be performed with two women. However, as time passed and the Gerudo became more focused on finding husbands they began altering the steps.
“Women are strong and can stand on their own, but I suppose as time passed they wanted to be more meek to attract husbands,” he explains as he shows you the steps as intended which would see your hips swaying carelessly. “Are you meek?” he asks with a teasing smile.
“For you?” you giggle. “I think not.”
He laughs, surprising you deeply yet thrilling you none the same. Soon he has you pulled close as you perform the steps as he’d showed you. One large hand rests on the small of your back as he guides you to move along with him. The ballroom is large, and it’s perfect for what he does. Every corner is explored by the gentle tapping of your feet, barely out of synch considering the difference in your size.
“Come,” he says as he pulls you closer. He gently guides you to stand on his feet. The weight doesn’t seem to bother him as he holds you as close as he can. He moves the two of you as gracefully as waves across the ocean. There’s a softness in his eyes as he looks down at you, and finally leans closer.
“Are you…?”
Before you can speak, and ruin the moment, he presses his lips to yours. The warmth of his mouth spreads through you, lighting a fire in the pit of your stomach. His hands rest upon your waist and his feet go still as he loses himself to the kiss. Your fingers are small and gentle as they comb through his fiery hair. Finally, the two of you separate. He almost looks ashamed of his actions. He steps away, looking around the room like a wild animal in a cage searching for an escape.
“I shouldn’t have done that,” he whispers. “Intimacy shared when one is bound is a violation.”
“Gan…Wait,” you grab his hand but he quickly pulls away. “I don’t feel that way with you.”
“It matters not what you feel. The truth is unchanged. If I’d not forced you here, then this moment would have never come to pass.”
“No, please-”
“You should leave,” he growls. “Do not look back at this place. Leave me here.”
“Just listen to me,” you plead. “Please, I want to stay!”
“Leave! Now,” he bellows through the halls. “Do not ever return!”
Tears fill your eyes as the sting of rejection fills your chest. You want to open your mouth and tell him how badly you wish to stay. Throughout your time with him you’ve seen him grow from being a reclusive, grumpy king to showing the side of him that’s charming. You’ve found yourself growing more confident and content as well. Despite everything, you seem to have brought out the best in one another. Yet, he’s pushing you away now.
“If you do not leave, I will kill you!” he snarls, the threat as empty as the wine bottle on the dining table. He’d never be able to bring himself to harm a hair on your head.
Without another word, you run upstairs to pack your few belongings.  _____
You were surprised by the greeting you’d received when you’d returned home. Your family was delighted to see you. Your mother doted on you for days, having spent the better part of a year thinking you had abandoned the family or worse got yourself killed. You have always been a curious one, after all. After all of your family realized not only were you in good health, but you weren’t going to share what you’d been through it was business as usual. There were chores to be done on the farm, and you were eager to busy yourself with mindless work.
You missed him deeply. It was a surprising turn, even to you. At night when you sat by the fire, you often found yourself asking your family philosophical questions they couldn’t answer all that deeply. In your mind, you could almost hear the way Ganondorf would have answered them. The way he almost seemed to purr in the back of his throat when he sat back in his chair, rubbing his beard, as he considered how to answer your best. You remembered the way his eyes would light up when you’d managed to push a topic he was particularly interested in. His eyes would light up when you would argue with him, confidently asserting your thoughts, as though he was proud of you for being so willing to stand up to him. Meanwhile, you felt suffocated by returning to your old life. Your family are kind people, surely, but they’re also simple in their desires. You missed the thrill of being close to someone who had a worldview so interestingly different from your own who could both challenge and be challenged in exchange.
Yet, you worked. Finding solace and quiet in the familiarity of it all. It was the same thing you’d found yourself doing up until the fateful day you had been at the castle.
Did he know how much the time you spent with him meant to you? Somehow you felt that question burning in your mind for weeks. Maybe if you had told him the truth of your feelings sooner, then he would have never sent you away. If he had known you didn’t feel imprisoned with him, would he have let you stay by his side? Would the budding feelings between you have finally bloomed? Not having the answers to these questions was enough to drive you to madness. And yet…The answers would not come.
Months had passed when the adventurer arrived. His name was Link, and as your family served him dinner he explained his mission. He was to free Hyrule from the Demon King, Ganondorf.
“The Demon King has been silent for many years,” your father said. “Is such a feat really worth laying down your life for?”
“He may be silent for now, but the conquering spirit in him still remains. Hyrule will not be free until he is gone,” Link replied.
“Will peace truly ever return?” your mother asked.
“Yes,” Link said, with an unwavering resolve. “Princess Zelda will take the throne, and restore prosperity.”
As all of you laid down in your bedrolls that night, you had tried to push away the fear. He had made sure you no longer felt like he was your problem, therefore you felt it was in your best interest to pretend it wasn’t. Whether Ganondorf lived or died, should have been of no concern to you.
Yet, the next morning, you rise with the sun. You quickly go check the spare room, and see that Link has already left. His blankets are neatly folded and there’s a small pile of money off to the side.
“No, no,” you whisper to yourself.
You run to the stables and take one of your family horses. You ride towards the castle, praying that you will make it in time to save Ganondorf. Although truth be told, you didn’t know if it was entirely possible.
The sun is shining brightly overhead, the sky a cheerful shade of blue. In the distance, you can see a dark, gloom-filled cloud hanging over the ruins of Hyrule castle. You wonder if Link has already made it there, and is now fighting Ganondorf. There’s a strange conflict brewing in your chest because you understand why Link wants to defeat him. You just can’t stand the thought of losing Ganondorf. You keep replaying that night in your head, and you wish more than anything that you would have fought harder to stay by his side. Knowing you may never get to tell him the truth of your feelings makes your heart sink into your stomach.
As you arrive at the castle, the clouds of gloom have begun to fade. Leaving only rainclouds in their wake that are slowly being pushed aside by the soft breeze. Does this mean it’s over? Ganondorf has been defeated?
You leave your horse by the gate and run past the walls. You see his large form hunched over on one of the balconies. Link lunges with his sword, and suddenly Ganondorf falls. He lands with a loud crash on the ground, sending cracks through the stone from the impact. Link stands at the edge of the balcony and crawls onto the ledge. He points an arrow bathed in divine light down at Ganondorf, aiming for the finishing blow.
“No!” You cry out as you run to Ganondorf’s rumpled form.
“Huh?” Link gasps as he sees you throw yourself over Ganondorf. Your considerably smaller form does nothing to truly shield him, but Link knows you wouldn’t be able to withstand the blast from the light arrow. “Move!” Link calls down to you.
“No! I won’t!”
“Little one,” Ganondorf coughs. “It’s over…Do not…” he trails off when he sees the tears rolling down your cheeks. He can’t remember the last time anyone cried for him, or if they ever had.
“Please, I won’t let you die,” you cry softly and bury your head against his chest. You don’t care about the blood and grime covering him. You feel his large hand on your back, his fingers curling through your hair.
“I’m glad you came, if only so I could see you one last time.”
“Don’t say that,” you whisper. “Don’t speak that way.”
Link jumps down, landing with a thud on his feet, “You don’t understand. I have to finish him. Ganondorf has to die so Hyrule can be saved.”
“Why does he have to die?” you sob as you continue clinging to him, your tears soaking into his tattered clothes. Link looks down, unsure of how to answer your question. Truth be told, he didn’t truly understand himself. Ganondorf had practically been dormant for half a century, and the monsters had slowly begun to fade away.
“It’s fate,” Ganondorf tells you, continuing to rub your back. “Stand aside, little one. Do not weep for me anymore.”
“Ganondorf, I can’t leave you like this,” you whisper. “I love you.”
“Love?” he whispers as though the word is one he’s never heard. He wants to laugh, not at your feelings but at the notion of someone feeling something so gentle for him. “I…I love you as well, but it matters not now.”
You look up, expecting to see Link standing over you. Instead, you see his retreating form. Almost seeming to sense your gaze, he looks over his shoulder. “Make sure he doesn’t give me a reason to seek him again. The two of you find somewhere to go, somewhere far away from here. I will tell everyone he’s dead.”
“Thank you,” you whisper through gentle sobs.
Ganondorf can hardly believe his ears. Had the hero truly decided to spare him? He couldn’t imagine a time when something like this would happen, and yet he knows there’s something he’s never had before…Rather someone. You must be the most precious thing he’s ever held in his arms.
You embrace him again, savoring the beating of his heart and the warmth of him. Still alive, still breathing. He touched your hair, feeling the soft strands between his fingers. When you finally look up at him, there’s a sweet smile on your face despite the tears in your eyes. Then, you lean down to kiss him. His heart soars from the gentle affection.
It would seem fate had something different in store for him this time.

fear(less)
After a few months of travelling together it was only to be expected that they would catch onto your little habits, especially if it was one that put you in harms way so many times.
characters — Chain, romantic or platonic (platonic only!Wind)
warnings — gore&blood, !depiction of deep wounds!, canon-typical violence, reader is reckless™ and has no sense of self-preservation, a sliver of harmful thoughts (sky!time!), poorly described battles; mild angst with comfort (hyrule!), hints of player!au.
Wow, i finally finished this thing, took me longer than i thought. Anyways, there are a few parts that don't really follow the game line of battle, as I've adapted some things just... because i thought it'd be fun, but i hope you guys enjoy it all the same. Also tagging the dearest @cloudninetonine, didn't know which blog you would prefer so i used the one more related to LU, i hope it is up to your standards, Cloud. also, i said twi part was long? you can't wait to see legend's then.

At first it wasn't anything too eye catching.
The heroes already knew you were... hopeless when it came to fighting, the few experiences in combat you had beside them proved as much, and they didn't mind it, you helped them enough around the camp, always eager to do something when it was possible.
And while they did train you enough to at least hold out on your own in urgent cases, they didn't expect you to become a seasoned warrior like most of them, you had no need or obligation to, after all, not being bound by duty like them.
However, a few experiences in battle were enough to prove them, that yes, your less than ideal choices, were, against all odds, made rationally.

Timeʼ
It was an oversight.
A terribly, horrid, oversight.
One that, goddess fobid, could've costed your life, as you full on charged at the monster trapping him under it's claw, sending both you and the shadow beast toppling over, a disorienting groan falling from your lips as you crashed onto the floor, barely escaping the clawed hands that reached out for you, your unsteady dominant hand, trying to grip hard enough at the hilt of your sword so you could finally, finally, thrust it into the dizzying mark in it's chest.
And then, as it lifted, ready to pounce back into your form, you got the chance to see it's weakness, barely, but enough. With not an ounce of hesitation, you gave up trying to make your, now useless, dominant hand to obey you, and switched you weapon, lurching under the monster and stabbing the glowing red skin, a surge of black blood dripping into your face and clothes as the monster disappeared into itself.
“Name!” Time finally got it into himself to call you out, armored form rushing to your side at an abnormal speed.
You looked back at him, still a very gruesome, bloody messy as you gave him a victorious grin, but he couldn't find it in himself to worry about that in the moment, just wanting to check if you were too injured from the battle, but just as he was two steps in, your face morphed into something akin to panic, stumbling hurriedly into your own feet and frantically running to him.
“Wait! Beside you!” Your shout was enough to alert him, shield quickly lifted as he bashed the monster into the ground, yet, his vision blurred at the sudden movement, body still weak from the hit he'd taken previously.
He felt your hand on his back, trying to keep him steady as the other swung the blade in front of you, the metal making an annoying screech as it made contact with the black mask, which only seemed to anger the monster further, pushing forward at an ungodly speed with it's tentacles trashing around.
In the heat of the moment, you mustered all the strength you could, pushing the hero to the side — a feat that was only possible because of his weakened state — as you took the full impact, body falling to the ground with a crushing thud, you winced, but still pushed forward, the blood pumping through your body giving you the last bit of adrenaline you needed to finally ground the monster, watching it slowly disappear as the aches in your body only now started to settle.
You could hear Time thunderous voice from beside you, but it sounded so distant, yet so loud, you could only close your eyes in hopes the tinning in your ears would stop.
You felt a cool hand — a metal plate? — settling against your burning cheeks, Time eye scanning you fully, rambling quickly about something as he seemed to shout to someone on the other side of the battlefield, you tried to laugh at his worry, only being able to hack a cough, throat clogged with blood.
You could see him turning his head back to you, mouthing a “don't leave me yet” at you, you grinned.
“Not before you, old man.” You saw him frown and was quick to add. “Don' worry, 'ts not the time yet.” You couldn't wait for his answer, face drooping into his shoulder as your vision blackened.
You could only hope he would lessen his nagging from next time you woke up, pitying your battered state.

Twilightʼ
It seemed that ever since he got into this adventure, with eight other unsettling versions of himself, plus an unassuming you, his luck whenever he transformed with the twili magic pummelled — yes, even more than in his own aventure, wasn't he sufficiently unlucky during his trials.
It was an unfamiliar Hyrule, and both you and him, well, Wolfie, had assumed the responsability of checking the sorrounding areas for any threat.
And what a threat it had, a swarm of dynalfos madly chasing after the both of you, a few too rough swing of their weapons barely catching at your tearing tunic as you tried tirelessly to keep up with the wolf speed.
“Fuck! I thought these bastards didn't wander in groups, what the heck are they even doing out in the open!?” As much as Twilight would like to agree with you at the moment, he could only let out a huff in the bestial form.
You gritted your teeth, pushing your legs until they were burning with the strain, never losing speed in fear they might actually catch up with you, as you rummaged through your backpack, probably looking for anything that might work, since your sword proved to be pretty damn useless against their gauntlets.
“Hey Wolfie, do you trust me?” He barely spared you a glance, quickly noticing the bomb you recklessly lightened in your arms. “Because if you don't, you might as well go on your own way.”
He tried to yelp as you didn't let go of the bomb even as the fire engulfed almost all of the rope, your hands shaking in what he assumed to be fear, though at this point it might as well be excitement, with the maddening smirk that played in your lips.
Waves of roars and shrieks resounded behind the both of you just as you threw the bomb back, the object exploding not even a few seconds after, as you made sure to hold it until the last possible second, so they wouldn't be able to throw the object back at you and make the situation even worse. Flames licked just short of your backs, threatening to burn both the strap of your leather bag and the tip of Wolfie's tail.
You cussed under your breath, legs stopping, as you turned around to face the enemies, now finally weakened enough for the both of you to at least try to face head on.
“If I'm right, they're from the captain's Hyrule, so we don't have much time to take them down.” You saw the wolf tail flick, as if in understanding, and you took that as a signal to rush foward, hearing his steps right behind you.
You surged foward, striking the monsters with the barely retained memories of the hellish training the captain had drilled into you, almost finishing off your enemies when you heard your companion yelp, a dinolfo having grabbed at his tail just as he tackled another of the oversized lizards into the ground, just as he was about to turn, ready to maul whatever got him, a wooden shield flew past his nose, right into the monster head, sending it into it's back, completely unmoving.
When the both of you were finally finished, it was nothing more than a gory mess, guts splattered all over as the both of you laid in the midst of the atrocious visage, panting and bleeding, the man long since turned into his original form, throwing all his care into the wind as he made himself comfortable beside you.
“We have to report it back to them, especially since these fuckers must be from the captain world.” You muttered, breathing heavy as you tried to lift your arm, only a groan making it past your mouth.
The man laid beside you only mumbled in agreement, not actually moving to get up, and actually throwing an arm over your body, making sure you wouldn't get out of there until the two of you at least got some rest.
Yeah, he could let the nagging wait a bit more, for now the thought of a little rest just seemed so much better than going back only to hear how reckless the both of you were to actually act alone.
He then frowned as if remembering something, face turning to you.
“How many times did we tell ya not to thrown the shield.” His voice was exasperated and you all but glared at him.
“Ah c'mon! It works!”

Warriorsʼ
“Get down!” A cry in your voice was enough for the warrior to follow through your orders, barely dodging a monster attack on the right as you nimbly shifted to his side, blocking an aerial attack with the shield Wild had lent to you weeks ago.
He hadn't thought much of the occurrence, as one of the archers in the group quickly sent the monster down, and you dealing a final blow without much trouble, what he didn't expect, however, was to find you barely a few hours after the battle kneeled beside a water body trying to wash down an conspicuous amount of blood off the arm you had previously wielded the shield with.
“Name? Did you get hurt? You could've asked me for a potion if your stock ran off, Hyrule would've also helped, we didn't have many casualties today.” He was quick to close off the distance, even as you seemed to do your best to avoid any type of contact with the hero.
“The stock is running low...” You started, low voice, but as he didn't budge, waiting for a more plausible excuse you saw no choice but to continue. “and there's still shards in my arm, it wouldn't be helpful to heal it as it is.”
Azure eyes ran over what he previously thought to be only stains and clogs of blood over the grass, only now noticing how it shimmered under the light, pieces of what seemed to be freshly cut flesh clinging into the sharper edges.
Warriors rushed to your side, hands grabbing firmly at your shoulder and wrist, fresh blood quickly oozing into his own pristine robes, but he didn't mind, not as he noticed just how serious what he thought to only be a light wound actually was. He suppressed a frustrated groan as he heard in inhale sharply at his prodding in the less open part of the wounds.
“How did this happen?” His voice was sharp, clearly not giving you a chance to even try and escape from him.
“Nothing...” A sharp glare was enough to make you stop, clearing your throat before continuing. “The kargarocs clawed at my arm just as Wild's shield shattered. It was just that, besides, it's not as bad as it look.”
The way you winced when his fingers flexed a little too harshly around your wrists was enough to betray your own words, yet you didn't back down, not until you saw Link's face morphing from a frown into the most —fake— dashing smile you've seen him send your way.
“If it's not that bad, then i guess you wouldn't mind a little help.” The way his eyes didn't match his smile was enough of a warning of the hell he'd put you through for not taking care of yourself in the first place.
“Wait, no—”
Your loud scream resonated through the quiet forest, as the man all but huffed, taking out the shards littering your arms with a gentle, yet rigid touch.
Too bad, it was already too late, maybe this way you'll learn to stay out of trouble next time.

Hyruleʼ
He couldn't say he was thrilled to get back to his own Hyrule, while, yes, it was comforting to recognize the vegetation around, much like the many hiding spots he found during his tireless adventures, he still felt much too paranoid to parade around the existing bustling town, a gnawing feeling at the back of his head saying — screaming — that as long as he was there, the hunt for his head would prevail.
So with such thoughts, he didn't think much of letting you talk with some of the locals, much too unrelated to the hero to pose any apparent threat to the villagers, as he hid himself just short of your eyesight, as the both of you waited for the rest of the group to buy whichever necessities you were still lacking from the journey.
What he didn't expect was to suddenly hear an almost guttural growl from you, as you tensed up from the previously amicable chat, his body turning just in time to see you land a punch straight into the other person nose, blood cascading instantly down your fist.
From there it went downhill, the other two person joining in the brawl you seemed to start without a care as Hyrule rushed to your side, trying to both protect you, while also pulling you out of the fight.
“Stop that, Hyrule! I'll kill those bastards!” You voice resounded with so much unfiltered hatred, that he considered that your threats may actually turn out be true, wasn't he quick enough to act.
He had always thought of you as calm and collected, a little silly sometimes, but that was about it, yet as he saw you snarling at the opposing group, having to almost wrestle you out of the place, he could see just how soft you actually were to the group of heroes.
The traveller regretted having put out his power bracelet in fear of hurting anyone too much, as throwing your fighting form over his shoulder and setting back proved to be much harder than when he did same with the usual pacific you, his steps thumped loudly against the dry grass, the sound of angered shouts getting more and more distant with the passing seconds, along with your own, which died into tiny sobs and hiccups.
When he noticed your chasers weren't on your tails anymore, he finally stopped, breathing hagged as he carefully lowered you to the floor, hands instantly coming to cup your face carefully, thumbing at the tears, worried expression as he checked your body for any wounds, his magic making quick work on any he spotted.
“Now now, what's the problem? What happened.” He watched as the tears didn't stop, yet you frowned in annoyance.
Not at him, of course. Never at him.
You pursed your lips, teeth gritting as you finally started talking, a sigh falling regretfully from your lips.
“Those bastar—” A quiet hush from him forced you to stop, his eyes never letting yours leave his. “They” You growled “were acting like you were nothing more than a curse. It's not fair that you get this type of treatment after all you did to save those people.”
His smile grew a little, strong arms engulfing you in a warm hug, your own slithering across his back naturally as he leaned into your shoulder.
“I don't care about those things.” Not for as long as I have you. “But thank you, Name.” His soft hum was quiet against your ear, and that was all the comfort the both of you could ever need, tightly wound in each other embrace.

Legendʼ
Legend was against the whole plan.
Especially when it took place with you acting as the bait, taking the unlucky lot while they drawed each person role.
He gritted his teeth, looking regretfully at the Pegasus Boot and the defense ring he placed in your hands, while you laughed awkwardly.
“You don't have to give me that, you know. I know how to battle, maybe not as much as you guys, but I can handle on my own.” You tried, pushing the items back into his hands, but he stepped back before you would force him to take, his frown only getting deeper.
“I know.” Was his only answer, to which you quirked your brow quizzically and he huffed. “We all watched your progress in battle, still, it just feels wrong to leave someone behind.”
Warriors was about to make a teasing comment about his unusual character, when Twilight jabbed at him, forcing the knight to bend over.
Time sighed as he watched the veteran so restless, drawing the attention back to him.
“Then the veteran stays back with Name.” The oldest sent a teasing smirk your way, which the others seemed to not notice, as he turned back to the rest of the group. “The rest of us will go as planned, Wild come with me, Warriors with Wind and Hyrule with Twilight. Get ready by the doors and make sure to come back before the time runs out.”
You prepared to start the mechanism of the dungeon, pulling the lever when the acting leader nodded. You and the veteran watched as they all disappeared into the passages, stone doors closing behind them as soon as they left, leaving the place you stood only barely lightened by the scarce torches lit around the walls.
The first wall to light up was the one in the right, where the traveller and ranch hand had disappeared into, both you and Legend walking up to it to take a closer look at the glowing blue scriptures.
“Only when the sun is lit, can the lost ones be found.”
It was easy enough, you looked around the room, soon finding a tile carved with the sun marking, Legend didn't think much before using the fire rod on it, the first pillar lightening up in blue, the form of a child carved into it.
The second wall lightened up, this time from Wars and Wind side.
“Only a cup of water can sate one's thrist.”
Sound of dripping water started to resonate around the room, the statue glow dimming as the child now bent over it's form, tears welling down the pillar. You took the bowl beneath it, already half full as you looked back at your partner, who pointed at the drying flower who bloomed among the stone path. You watered it, the flower blooming back to life, a golden key appearing between it's petals. The veteran didn't think much before picking it up, the second pillar lighting up with a garden.
As the third and last wall lightened up, the torches were blow off, all lights around the room turning from a soft blue to bloody red.
"A true warrior may carve it's path upon the enemies blood.”
Gears started to sound around the room, the torches blow off and the only light around now being the poor scriptures that barely let you count the fingers in your hands.
The child statue now stood as a imposing adult holding a sword, the tears that fell turning into a river of blood, and the garden pillar now turning into a fire caught wasteland.
A opening appeared on the ceiling, in which Keeses started pouring over like ants, Legend took the fire rod, knowing that with a single hit he could take at least a few of them down, however just as he was about to shot the magic, it died down altogether.
“What!?” He shouted exasperated, trying again in a futile attempt.
You looked at him, drawing your bow, hoping to even get a few down from how bad your eyesight got in the dark place.
He followed your example, grumpy about his malfunctioning item as he gripped onto his sword, taking down any that got too close to the floor.
As you were finally setting a rhythm, you started hearing a buzzing, looking into the hero direction the see the electro keese closing in on him.
“Vet!” You hand hooked at the hero tunic, all but throwing him to the other side, the monster reaching you as it's electric aura engulfed your body in an excruciating pain.
...
Or not. You blinked, looking up from your kneeling form, the hero running up to your side, as a disheveled mess, trying to look for injuries on your body, the red lights returning to a blue hue, and torches lighting back as the doors clinked open.
“But only true heroes won't think before saving a dear one.” The sailor voice sounded behind you, apparently reading the newly lightened wall who led you to the next room. “Whatever happened to the both of you here?” He asked, confused face as he stared at the both of you.
As you and Legend looked at each other face, clear confusion written all over it, the both of you nodded at each other.
“Nothing.”

Wildʼ
Wild could somehow feel the consequences of his actions catching up with him.
His hands tightened around your wrist, tugging you along with him as you ran from the lynel positively huffing like a bull as it ran behind you. He felt like this would be the feeling Twilight felt whenever he saw him running to do some things stupid.
Why did he just have to give in to your pleading eyes when you asked him to show you how to hunt a lynel?
He could see you stealing glances at the monster from the corner of his eyes, your figure pretty much laid back even when you knew — or at least he thought so — that thing could send you flying with a single hit.
When it's axe was lifted, you shifted to the side, pulling Wild out of its reach and almost sending the both of you colliding to the floor.
“I think I understand it now!” You shouted at him, blood pumping so hard from the adrenaline you almost couldn't hear yourself.
And with that, Wild felt a bad sense of premonition, his gut sinking as he recognizer that look on your face. The same look he had when he first tried to beat a lynel, before he was beaten half to death and ran back to formulate another plan, and while it was... well, different from the first, it certainly wasn't optimal.
He looked at you, face bewildered as he whisper shouted a “no”, hand tightening around yours as if he was the leash keeping a child from doing something idiotic, yet you only huffed and rolled your eyes.
“You do it, why can't I?” You whined and he considered begging for Twilight's forgiveness for every shit he put his mentor through. “Besides, you're here to help me, we can just retreat if you think it's getting too dangerous.”
He sighed, before pointing to the bottom of the hill, a large lake surrounding the area.
“If it get dangerous I'll use cryonis and we'll get out of here, no if's and but's, okay?” You grumbled out and his eyes thinned. “Okay?” He repeated himself.
“Okaaaay.” You drawled out, charging to the point he pointed, letting go of his hand as he attracted the lynel to he area.
It started fairly well, he attracted the monster to him while you shot it from the side, his bow trainings paying off as you hadn't hit the blonde man a single time yet. And hopefully you wouldn't for the rest of the battle.
Just as you were about to pull the last arrow, you saw the shining, massive axe in the hands of the lynel start flying towards your direction, the young hero quickly telling you to run towards the lake.
Your mind raced as you thought of your options, eyes flashing from Link's place near the lake to the weapon flying your way sickeningly fast, the bow dropping from your hand as you took the claymore strapped to your hip.
Wild's face dropped, heart sinking as he could already read your thoughts. Damned be the day he tried to teach you how to parry.
You waited. Waited. Wait... And then with a sharp, deafening sound the ginormous weapon was sent flying, it lasted less than a second, yet for you it seemed as if the world had stopped, you felt like you could understand, even if a little, when Wild talked about how the world seemed to slow down around him when he was battling.
Before you could turn to the hero to celebrate, you felt a heavy punch landing into the side of your head, sending you flying back, vision wavering.
He would have to teach you not to take your eyes off the enemies in battle it seemed, he sighed running up to finish dealing with the monster before you were too beaten up.

Windʼ
It was just your luck.
The dungeon had separated the whole group, and while you weren't too worried about only you and Wind forming a duo, you were quite worried for whose world it was now.
All of the heroes eras were quite the catastrophe, however Time's was an utter mess, especially with the happenings of Majora Mask he had to deal while still a child.
You gritted your teeth, pulling the younger one beside you by the arm, as he whined something about being able to take them on.
“Look Wind, I know you're competent and all, I also understand that you know how to deal with them, however you have to understand that these are not the ReDeads from back at your world.” You pursed your lips as you heard their screeching approaching.
The young hero huffed, finally accompanying your steps on his own, instead of being dragged like dead weight.
“So, any plan?” His pout was very much visible, in your mind at least, as the corridors were dark enough for you to trip over your own feet sometimes.
“You betcha, sailor.” You only hoped it would actually work. “Think you could play a song right now?”
You could feel Wind's judgemental stare right through your skull, but when you did nothing but press him for an answer he giggled madly.
“I don't know what you're brewing up, but I hope it'll be fun.” The boy grabbed onto your hand, sprinting even faster, pulling you through some many doors and corridors of what you thought to be the correct path, until you could see a few barely visible flashs of light streaming down from the ceiling, the first room you had fallen into when you first entered the dungeon, the bars showing only enough for the both of you to see the shadow of your faces, giggling as if the monsters that followed you wouldn't just up and kill the both of you with as much as a single touch.
You quickly scampered further into the light, knowing it would only be enough to slow them down for a little, before you started talking lowly, not considering the earlier fits of laugh would be enough to alert all of the monsters around of your exact position.
“I assume you don't have your mirror with you.” The sailor nodded, almost rolling his eyes at the predictability, but before he could voice his complaints you continued. “But you wouldn't come without your wand, right?”
He now raised an eyebrow, mouthing an “Of course”, as you nodded to yourself.
“Let's pray that it counts as an magical instrument, get it and try to follow the music I'll hum to you.” You barely got him any chance to process before humming the Sun Song you'd grew so familiar over the time.
The boy just looked at you as if you were crazy, grabbing onto the item and hurriedly trying to follow along, a few tries in and the both of you huffed, patience running thin as a strew of curses fell from the boys lips, something you thanked the goddess above that the Hero of Time or the Hero of Twilight weren't there to see.
You groaned, exasperated, as the monsters were now only a few feet away from you both, you pressed him further up into the wall, fully covering his body from the monsters view, almost like a living bait, a thing he'd certainly nag at you later.
In the desperation you whistled the song, praying it was sufficiently in tune for him to relate to the sound of the wind he often listened to while on his journey.
“C'mon, three, three, five!” You prayed, a phantom touch at your neck sending chills down your spine as if sucking your life force, while you tried to whistle the tune again.
“Got it!” He exclaimed, a whirlwind forming around you both as the light shone even brighter above the both of you, almost like the salvation light, the wave of monster falling slowly with shrill screams, one you'd hope to never hear again.
You finally let go of his arms, body trembling so much you could only topple down as tears streamed down your cheeks, the bone chilling presence of their touch still very much vivid in you mind, as the younger one could only rub your shoulders soothingly, knowing full well you took most of the hits in order to keep him safe.
He sighed, resolved to let your actions slide this one time, with a tired smile.
“Thank you for trying to protect me, let's rest a little and then well go back to the others.” His voice was way less chirpier than usual, you nodded, leaning one against the other, finally able to get a breather under the warm light casted over the two of you.
Tumblr media
Skyʼ
It was somewhat stupid, honestly.
You knew fully well that all of those men had full capacity to take over at least a dozen monsters more than you, without even breaking a sweat, no less, especially the local lazy eyed hero who seemed to enjoy his little naps a little more than it was healthy and just happened to take over a god all by himself.
You knew it, yes, but your stupid body decided to move before your brain could fully process what was even happening.
“Sky, that...” You lightly tugged at the hem of the skyloftian armor, eyes focused on the strange spikes fluctuating dangerously beside the hero.
The form seemed familiar, but you only were able to fully recognize it when little eyes peeked through the sand wasteland, the man beside you now standing in full alert as his eyes seemed to catch onto the same thing as you.
The whole group stopped, now looking back at the two of you, but as you tried to point towards the enemy to explain you wouldn't have to battle as long as you avoided it's vision, you could see from the corner of your eyes one of the more reckless from the group charge full on at the little monster.
“Wait, it'll explode!” Sky tried to warn, a little too late as it's body expanded, sending projectiles of poisonous darts around.
Thankfully Wild was quick enough to react a pull a shield to protect himself, and the others were far enough not to get in the way, however as both you and the Hero of the Skies were the one who stood closer to it, you had taken the full brunt of the blow, fully ducking the hero behind your form.
You gasped as you felt the thorns ripping through your flesh, the feeling way more painful than you had expected at first, tears prickling at the corner of your eyes as you all but hollered at Wild.
“Don't go touching it, you dumbass! Just blow it away!” You winced when the hero held in your arms moved to trace the sides of your wounds, a wince of his own sounding as he saw his bloodied gloves.
“Don't move, it'll hurt.” Sky voice was still collected, but you could see his eyes wavering a bit, knowing full well how terrible it was to receive one of these attacks head on, he sighed. “Why did you protect me? My armor was enough to take it.”
It was unusual to hear the usually so pacific hero grumbling around like that, but you could barely focus on that as you felt his hands making quick work of removing the most superficial ones from your skin, the scalding hot feeling of the poison in the open wounds soon melting off as Hyrule made a quick work of staying beside you to heal the wounds.
“I panicked, besides, if it was a black blooded monster, who knew what else he'd— shit! Do?” You felt your knees weakening, even as he held you upright, so you gave in to muffling a cry into his shoulder as he took off a particularly hard spike buried in the side of your waist.
“So you did this even considering it was a mutated monster?” You could feel he bit off another sigh. “Really, you're the only one reckless enough to throw yourself in to protect a hero.” He patted your head in a comforting touch to tell it was over. “But don't go thinking I'm not mad at you and Wild. The both of you should stop acting so recklessly already, it'll worry all of us.”
You could hear Wild whining off at some distance, as you held the urge to do the same, as you knew the boy could be as scary as Time if pushed far enough.
Tumblr media
Fourʼ
The short hero was quite used to be underestimated, and at first he thought you'd fall under the same category of people who judged his strength based on his height alone.
It was a pleasant surprise for him when he could finally notice your protectiveness came from a place of care, actually.
What wasn't pleasant, however, was how, no matter how much you knew that the hero was much stronger than you, you couldn't let go of this worrisome habit of always putting his safety and comfort before yours.
Especially now, where you, and the four parts of the little hero battled away against a wave of skulltulas, the monsters easy enough for you and the four heroes to tackle on, however their sheer amount was enough to give you a harder time dealing with them.
You sidestepped, back meeting with Green's, hearing him chuckle before branding his sword to the right, striking down two of the monsters with a single attack, you and Red joining hands so the smaller one could easily acess the weak spot of a specially tough one.
However, things seemed way messier at the other side, Blue and Violet having to deal with just as much as the three of you, while also sparing jabs at each other, harsh comments over the other clumsiness as they rashly brandished their sword, clearly tired of the long running battle.
“It doesn't seem to be ending anytime soon.” You muttered, both of the man beside you nodding in agreement. “Should we just take off?” You offered, an instant disagreement falling from both Blue and Violet.
“If its a swarm this big, it could reach one of the nearby cities.” Red made an actual helpful comment, to which you sighed.
You held your tongue, knowing none of them would appreciate you making any comments about their far too heroic side, putting your focus back on the battle.
It didn't take much longer for the wave of Skulltulas to actually start to thin out and finally take the last one on. Tge five of you finally lowered you weapons, watching as the last of the enemies disappear in a black mist.
The only sound now being your heavy breathings and the rustling of the trees above you. You looked up, heaving a sight and watching as the leaves above your head danced from one side to another along with the wind, only now noticing a strange light, or actually, a lack thereof.
“Hey guys..?” You started, as they looked at you. “I guess i know why they were so mad at us now.” They followed your line of sight, a gasp sounding behind you, which you didn't bother naming whose it was.
A skulltula — if you could even call it that, at this point — hung over the trees, it's web big enough to cover a whole house, the monster only shying a little in question of size.
“Are you guys sure you still want to play hero?” Surprisingly, it wasn't you this time, but Violet.
You shook you head, already knowing their answers, as you hooked your fingers under your bow, pulling one arrow and readying to fire under their command.
“Well.... like it or not, we are heroes.” Blue stated, giving you the signal.
You shoot the arrow, the object hitting bullseye into one of the monster's eye, not that it was too difficult from it's sheer size.
With a thundering roar, it dropped down from it's web, the natural floor shaking under your feet as you stepped back to gain the distance advantage this time, the split hero standing in front of you to act like a bait.
The four of them each had gone to one side of the monster, as you made another clear shot, this time taking one of its hind leg, the blood spraying in a somewhat gruesome way you hadn't had the chance to notice when fighting the smaller one.
Just as you were about to shot another of its legs, you heard a groan, Blue falling to the ground as the monster charged into him. You gritted your teeth, lowering the bow as you pulled your sword from your waist and running up to him without a second thought, stopping in front of him, and parrying the oncoming attacks however you could as Blue still seemed disoriented from the fall.
What you didn't take into account was how heavy it's attack would be now that it had the added weight of it's sheer size, you lightly hissed when it's fang bit into your left shoulder, almost dropping the weapon out of reflex, but you clenched your jaw, forcing your fingers to remain flexed into the sword hilt, then thrusting it into the spider's many eyes when it finally let go of you, it's bug juice overflowing into you and your wound, only making it sting more.
Barely a few seconds after you could see the monster disappearing, as Violet and Green each cut one side of the monster, the skulltula disappearing into a black matter quickly as you heaved a sigh, the five of you finally regrouping into the center of the clearing.
“Did I already say that I hate spiders? Because if not, now I do.” Violet said, clearly disheartened at the whole ordeal, to which you only nodded in agreement.

I found a short scene I wrote for Incredibles au from the second movie just to mess with things that I’d completely forgotten about, and people wanted to see it, so here it is.
It’s right after that part where all the supers invade the house and Frozone helps the kids escape, but doesn’t escape himself, and they’re all debating what to do. That should hopefully be all the background you need to figure out what’s going on but you haven’t watched the movie there’s only so much I can help you with XD
Enjoy 👍
————————————————————
Twilight kept their father’s old car going until they were plenty far away from the house, the ice Warriors had shot at them slowly melting off the sides. Nobody spoke while they rode, even Shadow acting strangely subdued for once, and it wasn’t until Twilight told the car to pull over on a quiet country road that the silence was broken.
“They got Warriors,” Wind whispered, a hand wrapped tightly around his middle.
Legend pressed a little tighter against his side, and Wind leaned against him, looking miserable.
“We wouldn’t have gotten away without him,” Hyrule said in an equally quiet voice. “If it weren’t for him...”
He trailed off, and Wind shrank down in his seat.
“What do we do now?” Wild asked in a small voice, and all of them turned to look at Twilight.
Twilight swallowed.
“We... well. We can’t go to Fi’s,” he began slowly, “or Sky’s, they’ll just get them too if... if they haven’t already. And you saw those goggles they put on Warriors, they were all wearing them. They're all under someone's control somehow, and they... they probably did the same to Dad,” he finished in a quiet voice.
The boys went silent again, and a cricket chirped in the grass by the side of the road.
“Okay,” Legend swallowed, a hand tugging at his bangs. “A bunch of hypnotized bad guys after us. No Mom, no Dad. No Warriors or Sky.”
“But we do have our powers,” Wild cut in, looking somewhat hopeful. “Plus this car, and, and... um... anything else?”
Four flinched in the backseat, and with a flash of light, he suddenly split into four, Shadow growling as he shoved an already-crying Red off of his lap.
“They got Mom and Dad!” Red wailed, and Hyrule awkwardly patted him on the shoulder.
“I say we go and get everyone back, now,” Blue growled, and Twilight waved his arms in an attempt to get the situation back under control.
“Four— er, Fours, try to calm down,” he said gently, but Red continued to cry, and Green and Blue were both looking upset in different ways as well. “Guys, please, getting upset won’t help, we have to think of a plan.”
“Any plan you have is probably going to get us all killed,” Shadow snorted, and Vio elbowed him when Red sobbed harder. “What?”
“Dad said he was going to that ship thing, wasn’t he?” Legend said, and Twilight looked over at him as he gathered Red into his arms. “And that’s where Mom is. We should go there.”
“You want us to go right to the bad guys?” Shadow scoffed.
“I don’t know...” Wind said in a small voice. He swiped a hand over his eyes. “What if they just get us too?”
“Let’s vote,” Twilight said, having calmed Red’s sobbing to quieter sniffles. “Everyone in favor of going and saving Mom and Dad and Warriors?”
Wild immediately raised his hand, as did Blue and Legend, and Hyrule and Green shortly did afterward. Twilight and Red had their hands up, and after a long moment, Wind and Vio raised theirs as well.
Which meant everyone had voted yes except Shadow.
“Shadow? What do you think?” Vio asked, and the other boy looked away.
“Either way you’re going to bring me, so I don’t see why it matters what I vote,” he grumbled.
“If you’d rather go back to the house that’s crawling with hypnotized supers who want to put hypno-goggles on us, be my guest,” Twilight said, and Shadow crossed his arms and sank down in the seat.
“Fine. I vote go.”
“Then it’s unanimous,” Wild said, and he pounded his fist into his hand as he sat straight up in his seat. “We’re going to go save Mom and Dad and everyone else.”
All of the boys looked around at each other, and their faces grew determined, still worried and scared, and in a few cases teary-eyed, but determined to save their parents, and everyone else as well.
Shadow moaned.
“We’re all gonna die.”

Consider ✨
An au like Heros Aspect but Wild is stuck in the dark armor instead.
I crave comedy of errors style misunderstandings =)
OOOOOOOOOH boy i started to answer this before and it got REALLY DARK so i've scrapped that and have started again.
SO
A lot of the initial chase and fleeing would be strangely similar. Yes, Wild can talk now, but the others think he's Dark Link, and Dink always lies. They don't listen to a word he says until he's lying in the river, bleeding from where Warriors shot him, trembling as he tries to show he's not a threat.
Dink doesn't bleed. That's their first clue that Wild is one of them and not a monster. That's what gives them pause.
("Wait- he's bleeding." said pinky, holding up a hand to stop the others and lowering his sword a fraction.
What the- damn right, he's bleeding! You just shot me! Wild wanted to retort, but something told him that wouldn't help matters. It was a little voice that he liked to call his inner-Zelda, and for once he elected to listen to it)
And then Sky came stumbling out of the woods, telling his brothers not to attack, that he was one of them.
Wars Four and Legend exchanged glances. Four was the first one to shrug and say 'eh that tracks'. The others wondered at his easy acceptance, but of course, they didn't know about Shadow.
Still, the boys were probably more wary with Wild in the Dark armour than the Aspect, and when he reached out to touch the sword they watched him like hawks. But of course, Fi didn't burn him. Instead she gave him his name and cemented him as one of the team.
("OH THANK HYLIA!" the newly dubbed Wild said, sighing in relief and flopping back into the water. "I thought you guys were really going to kill me!"
The three who had chased him exchanged uncomfortable glances, but none of them said what they were all thinking. For a moment there, so had they.
Wild looked up at them again and they all - minus Sky, of course - started. His eyes were all red and glowed even in the daylight, casting a sickening pallor over his already grey skin. He furrowed his brow and smiled, the scars that laced one side of his face pulling at the movement.
"I- I don't normally look like this." he whispered nervously. "It's a mask I tried on. But I can't get it off." he sighed. "Worst fashion choice ever.")
With this explained, the boys bandage his wound as best they can and bring him back to camp, embarrassed and apologetic. Wild brushes off their apologies. After all, he does look exactly like the shadow monster that has been trying to kill them. What's a little grievous bodily harm between a shared soul, eh?
The others are a little concerned about his blase attitude to being hurt, but who are they to judge?
Once again, they make him wait outside the camp while they explain to the rest who he is and how they met. Legend includes both that he looks like Dink and also that it's because he tried on a mask and got his ass cursed (his words). Wild can hear Time facepalming from where he hides.
He's still nervous stepping into camp. Twilight still encourages him. Wind is still friendly. Time is still welcoming. Hyrule is still nervous. It's obvious that they're all shaken by his appearance, but it takes about the same amount of time for them to all warm up to him as if he was in the Aspect.
The main difference is that Dark!Wild can creep up on them and scare them more effectively, what with being his normal height and having creepy glowing eyes. Also when they're trying to sneak places at night, his eyes are super distracting. He gets banana sunglasses to match sky's, just to hide their glow.
Some of the stunts the Chain pull are different. Rather than Cat Island, Wind tells everyone that Wild is from Shadow Island where he rules over the dead. Some are exactly the same. Wild still makes friends with the cats in ordon, and inexplicably, kids still love him.
He does not understand why.
But what mostly stays the same is that he has brothers who love and care about him, and who think he's an absolute idiot for getting himself cursed to be stuck in the Dink mask.
And yes, he still manages to get stuck in the Mask of Awakening.

Four for the Pokémon AU! He has an X&Y inspired design. Gave him the hat with the feather pin that’s now a Minish Feather, and also gave him this kinda ponytail thingy that is covered by an Ezlo charm. It’s weird but I like it.
I didn’t put in all of his Pokémon because i just couldn’t make myself draw them(Swampert and Azumaril). I only recently noticed how short I made the tunic. The anatomy’s just kinda wonk, but I can’t really fix it now. I also tried a new rendering style. I don’t know how to feel about it. Anyways, Lore under the cut.
At the beginning of the Minish Cap, Link doesn’t get a starter. Instead, he gets his starter once he meets Ezlo, who suggests to get a Pokémon companion to help out, since he can’t really do much. Because at the moment, he was a hat. Link choose Mudkip because he thought it could help him get over the water easier. That did not work.
Link also transforms into an actual Minish, who are a Pokémon in the same vein that the Zora and Gorons are also Pokémon. Pokémon=species, more of less. Pokémon-Mystery-Dungeon-esk, but not as much as Twilight’s adventure was. Four’s adventure was more or less the exact same, and he didn’t really use Pokémon all that much, just the Pictori sword/Four sword. But he did catch a bunch of Pokémon, because he was really into collecting things back then(like how there were a bunch of figurines in the actual game).
He found a Maril near the beginning of his adventure and thought it was cute so he kept it. He specifically wanted a shiny Shedinja because no one in Castle Town had ever seen one up close. He did not that shiny after hours of hunting. So in the end, he just got a regular Nincada and named his Shedinja NotAShiny, because he was so annoyed. Link did come to love it tho, so he usually calls him Nota for short.
At the beginning of Four Swords(and let’s just combine fsa because who cares), Link became friends with an Eevee, right before the maidens got kidnapped. Stuff happened and both Link and his newfound Eevee end up at the Four Sword Sanctuary, where Link had stored the Four Sword after his first adventure. The sword had been accumulating more and more magic since Vaati’s imprisonment within it. I don’t know how the story works in LU canon, but that’s how it works here.
The 4Sword not only splits Link up into four, but Eevee as well, the sword reacting to the uniqueness of Eevee’s genes or something. Leafeon for Green, Flareon for Red, Vaporeon for Blue, and Espeon for Vio. Also because of Eevee’s wild genes, the 4Sword clings to it and its spilt eeveelutions, and can only be pulled out by the colors. I mainly came up with this because I couldn’t figure out where to put the sword on Four’s design.
Link found the Castform early on, his first shiny on this adventure(he found shinies before but he liked this one especially so he had it in his team at the moment he went through the portal). Link also found the Zygarde Core sometime during the adventure. His collecting instincts kicked in whenever he found the cells. He can make Zygarde become 100%, but he likes the Core form best.
Btw, Shadow never had any Pokémon of his own. He’d order around Pokémon provided by Ganon. He would befriend a Masquerain and would love it forever. He’d say he doesn’t but he does.
I don’t really have any ideas about LU specific stuff right now, but I can say that Four, Legend, Wind, and Hyrule are the only ones with Mega Stones. Four’s Swampert has a mega stone.

What You Look At, You Change: Chapter 7 (Palace of the Four Sword Au)
It's amazing what listening to C'mon for nine hours straight can help you achieve
Chapter 7: One Link, Two Link, Red Link, Blue Link
“So the boss you told us about last time, he’s the one we need to face?” Hyrule asked, tilting his head thoughtfully.
“Yeah.” Legend nodded, folding his arms tightly and drilling into the ground with his gaze, avoiding his brothers’ eyes. “Mothula II. I’ll go over the plan for him again once we’re outside his chamber, so Vio’s up to speed, and we’ll all be prepared.”
“Being prepared is good!” Wind said, bouncing a little on his heels, injecting a little extra cheer into his voice in the hopes it would lift the mood.
Legend flinched, and turned away a little, and Wind’s smile slipped. He bit his lip.
A shoulder bumped against his, and a hand landed on his head—Red was now pressed up against the Sailor’s side, shooting Wind a kind smile, and Twilight ruffled Wind’s curls, the weight of his hand warm and bolstering.
“Sounds like a plan,” Twilight said, with a thoughtful nod. “Lead the way.”
*-/-*-/-*-/-*-/-*
Legend led them across the main room of the temple to the stairway that led to the path of the Blue Sword. It led down, and down, and down, into a lightless blackness.
“Oh great,” Sky said. “More darkness. Just what I wanted.”
Legend cracked his knuckles and dug into his bag. “You know the drill, same as last time.”
The others assembled into a rough approximation of the same order they had taken last time they’d descended down a dark staircase—Sky after Legend, then Hyrule and Twilight, then Wind, Red, and Green at the rear. Red and Green seemed to cluster a little closer to Wind, and Twilight saw the considering look the veteran shot the trio, before lifting his gaze and glancing meaningfully at Twilight. Twilight’s mind spun at how he was supposed to respond to this look, but his brain was derailed when Vio slipped into line behind him.
Twilight glanced down at the smith out of the corner of his eye, but kept his mouth firmly shut. Vio’s face was mostly reserved, with only a faint furrow between his brows betraying his agitation.
Twilight knew how it was, they were both Links, after all. If Vio wanted to talk, he would. Until then, Twilight wouldn’t press him to break out of his thoughts and silence.
Chatter filled the air. Wind was nearly bouncing down the stairs, waving one arm with a wild grin on his face as he spun out the tale of a confrontation with… a giant floating head and hands, apparently? That didn’t sound familiar at all to Twilight, but Red and Green were nodding along and chiming in, comparing a fight they had with a similar boss.
Hylia knows Twilight had seen his fair share of weird stuff on his adventure, but apparently there was far more out there.
Though, the ‘attack the giant eyeball’ part of it was refreshingly familiar—
“So, there are other Heroes of Courage on this quest?” Vio’s voice sounded suddenly, sliding through Twilight’s train of thought. “Ones that are not here?”
“That’s right. We have four more Links—or, well. Three more, I guess, if we don’t count your past self.”
Vio hummed thoughtfuly, ad was silent for a long moment. “Can you tell me about them? They are our comrades, after all. I should like to… remember them again, I suppose.”
“Sure.” Twlight shrugged. “Though I warn ya, ‘m not the best storyteller.” He grinned, and looked over his shoulder, as Wind thrust an imaginary blade forward with a cackle. “That honor goes to him.”
Vio looked back, and his eyes and mouth softened. The faint shadow of an impossibly sad warmth passed over his face, but only for a moment. “So it seems.” He turned back to look at Twilight and smirked, and that unbearably tender warmth was gone as if it had never been. “But best or not, you’re the one I’m asking.”
Twilight chuckled. “Well, there’s the Captain, and the Champion, and the old man—or Warriors, Wild, and Time. Time is our… leader, I suppose. He keeps us focused and gives us advice. We all look up to him. Wars helps him a lot—he’s an army captain, so that’s no surprise. He’s always got a plan, and he works really hard at keeping our spirits up, even if he and I butt heads a lot. And Wild…” He grinned at the thought of his protégé. “He’s a free spirit, and one of the best cooks I’ve ever met.”
Vio nodded thoughtfully. “And… do you know anything about their timeline placement?” Twilight’s gaze darted to him, and Vio smiled, reaching up to rub the back of his neck. “I’m still trying to wrap my head around this whole split-timeline business.”
That may be, Twilight thought, but something told him there was more to it—a sharp glint in violet eyes that his smile couldn’t quite hide. Still, it wasn’t exactly a secret, just… confusing.
He gave it his best attempt, explaining what he had been told of their adventures, and what the heroes had pieced together. Vio listened intently, nodding now and again… and with that sharp glint never leaving his eyes.
Somehow… Twilight felt as if he were missing something important.
He’d just finished when they reached the bottom of the staircase—it wasn’t like he had a lot to relate, after all—and the narrow stairway opened up into a vast dark room.
Legend turned, lifting his lantern high so he could see his brothers. His gaze lingered on Wind’s shield for a moment—only a moment, but Twilight caught it. “Watch your step! There’s some more stairs straight ahead, and then ice at the bottom, got it?” There was various nods and mutters of assent, and Legend nodded. “Good, so none of you better slip and break a leg or something.”
And with that, he turned and swiftly leapt down the stairs.
Someone, Twilight thought ruefully, was in a mood.
But then again, after a day like today, weren’t they all?
They reached the bottom of the stairs, and the lantern light glinted off the smooth white-blue surface of truly thick ice.
“All right, this room is really simple.” Legend pointed into the darkness across the room.” If the golden Octorocks are already defeated, that means the ladder will already be there, so we only need to slide across the ice to it.”
Wind let out a whoop, elbowed Hyrule and Red on either side, and shouted, “Last one to the other side is a rotten fish!” And he took off at a sprint across the ice, immediately losing his friction and shooting into a wild slide. His arms windmilled as he screeched, a manic grin on his face.
Hyrule, the Colors, and Sky all shared a single look; a look a that immediately transformed into identical gleeful smiles. The next second they were sprinting off across the ice, slipping and sliding as they tried to avoid the de-iced platform in the center of the room. Sky quickly approached Wind, his height working in his favoring against his fun-sized compatriots, but Wind’s head start managed to hold for the moment.
Sky was not to be outdone, and pulled the gust bellows out of his pack. He turned it around, flipped the switch, and went flying across the ice with a whoop.
“Here, take this!” Vio tossed something in Wind’s direction, and Wind barely managed catch it without falling on his face.
It was a white jar, with a band of blue swirls decorating the middle.
Wind’s grin turned maniacal.
Within moments, he was shooting across the ice, hot on Sky’s tail.
The other Colors quickly dug in their packs, pulling out their own gust jars. Vio pulled out a pair of boots instead, and Red saw this and grinned, pulling his own pair of boots out of his pack.
“Pegasus boots may only come in sizes for short people…” He wiggled the boots enticingly at Hyrule. “But wanna see if you can fit in them?”
Hyrule grinned. “Sweet Hylia, do I!”
Red tossed him the boots, and Hyrule quickly fumbled them on. Somehow they fit just right, which Hyrule supposed was because they were magical boots. He stood up, slid his foot forward, and rocketed across the ice. He flew past the colors, and passed Wind and Sky in a wild blur.
His wild shriek of joy was abruptly cut off when he slammed into the ladder. He slumped to the ground, groaning.
Sky let out a yelp of mingled laughter and dismay. “’Rule, you all right?”
Hyrule lifted his hand into the air, sticking up a thumb with a grin. “Heck yeah I’m all right,” He wheezed. “I’m not a rotten fish!’
Yells of protest arose from the other heroes, and they redoubled their efforts, jostling each other back and forth with the gust bellows as they strived to avoid a fishy fate.
Twilight and Legend watched from the far side of the room with amusement. Legend folded his arms with smirk. “Didn’t realize we were so forgettable.”
Twilight smirked back at him. “As if you wouldn’t normally be out there, trying to outdo them with all your little magical gadgets and gizmos.”
Legend arched an eyebrow. “Same goes for you, rancher, don’t think I don’t know about your competitive streak.”
Twilight shrugged. “Well, I would, if someone hadn’t lingered behind while giving me significant looks.” He raised both eyebrows at the veteran, and they stood staring at each other for a long moment.
Legend’s knee began bouncing, but Twilight continued to stare him down, steady as stone, if stone could smirk.
Finally, the Veteran’s hero’s-spirit-ingrained-curiosity could take it no longer, and he exploded.
“I’m not going crazy, right? Four’s shield—!”
Twilight cut him off with a sharp shake of his head. “This isn’t the time to discuss it.”
Legend stared at him, then threw his arms in the air. “Well then, why did you just stand there until I gave in and asked the question?”
Twilight grinned. “Because it was funny.”
The veteran’s teeth ground audibly, and he turned away, muttering under his breath. He muttered for a good minute, before finally sighing and turning back, folding his arms. “I get it. There’s a lot going on right now.” The words were grumbly and reluctant, and Legend sniffed at Twilight for good measure. “Still, good to know I’m not crazy.”
Twilight grinned wider. “Well, I wouldn’t go so far as to say that—”
Legend kicked him and stuck out his tongue. “Have fun being the rotten fish!”
And with a kick of his Pegasus boots, he was flying across the ice.
Twilight yelped and took off after him, yelling after the veteran all the way.
*-/-*-/-*-/-*-/-*
It was drawing near the end of his watch when the sound of retching caused Four to jump into action. In a quick movement he turned Time on his side and pulled the blankets away—and just in time.
He shoved a hand through his hair and sighed at the mess, trying to decide what to do—
“Four?”
The smith turned to see Wild sitting up in his bedrolling, yawning and scrubbing at one eye with the heel of his hand.
Four felt his shoulders slump in a sigh. He should have known the noise would wake Wild up—the Champion always slept lightly and woke early: he claimed it was because his body had stocked up on sleep for a hundred years and he didn’t really need it anymore. Four didn’t know if magical sleep worked like that for sure, but, well… he wouldn’t be surprised. After all…
He shook the thought away and grinned a little sheepishly. “If you’re awake, uh… I could use some help?”
Wild slipped out of his bedroll, wandered over, and winced. “Yeah… what do you need me to do?”
Four frowned thoughtfully, rubbing his chin. “Can you make him something to eat? He really needs something in his stomach.”
Wild gave Four a lazy salute and a wink. “I can certainly do that. Anything else?”
Four considered again. “Can you help me move him to the far side of the fire?”
After a hasty discussion of strategy, and the application of Four’s power bracelets. Wild took Time’s head, Four took his feet, and they slowly dragged him around to the other side of the fire.
“Thank Hylia…” Wild said with a wink, “That he doesn’t have his armor on right now…” He shuffled carefully, slowly but surely edging Time around the firepit, “…or this would be a nightmare.”
Four giggled, his breath hitching with the edge of hysteria. Wild caught it, and gave Four a knowing look. “You need sleep, don’t you?”
Four shook his head. “I’m fine. What I need is to look after Time.”
Wild looked very skeptical, but Four ignored him, focusing on carrying their leader with minimal jostling. Finally they reached a spot that was relatively smooth and just the right distance from the fire, and they set him down carefully. Time stirred fitfully despite their care, but that was all right. He needed to be awake to get something in his stomach again.
Wild bent over the pot while Four used his fire rod to quickly “sanitize” the mess. No sense dealing with the yuck when you could just incinerate it into oblivion, after all.
He wasn’t quite sure how he would explain the huge black scorch mark on the cave floor to Wars when he would up, but Four would jump that chasm when he came to it.
Then he returned to his place by Time’s side, wiping his face with chilled water and trying not to count each fitful breath.
After a half-hour or so, Wild carefully carried over a bowl, a piece of bread tucked under one arm. Four reached up and took it, taking a deep sniff of the warm aroma rising from the wooden bowl.
“What’d you make?”
Wild plopped down beside him, giving Time a complicated look as he bit his lip. Four could see the antsy movements in hands and shoulders—he knew how this had to be affecting Wild.
Wild had lost companions before, and even though this was just a simple fever, even simple things can make old fears grow in strength.
“Creamy heart soup—though I left out the milk and used a water broth instead cause it’s easier on the stomach. And I left out the voltfruit too for the same reasons. And the hydromelon.”
Wild paused.
“Maybe it’s just hearty radish soup, then.”
He took the bread out from under his arm and wiggled it. “And remember when I baked bread a few days ago? I warmed up one of the loaves by the fire, so you can maybe dip that in the soup? Give him something a little solid in his stomach? Bread always helps me.”
His words were getting a little rambly, spinning out like thread from a spindle, as if speaking could distract him from the thoughts lurking deep below the surface. Four knew that too well, so he simple smiled. “Thanks, Link.”
Wild blinked, gave Four a strange look, but finally shrugged and smiled. “You’re welcome!”
Four turned and set a hand on Time’s shoulder, shaking it gently. “Time? Old man?”
Time groaned, but it was more a groan of protest than discomfort, and his eyes opened to bleary slits.
Good enough.
“Can you help him sit up?” He whispered to Wild, and the champion nodded, scooting around to help prop Time up.
Once Time was in a sitting position, Four scooped up a spoonful and offered it with a grin. “Now, are you gonna let me do this the easy way this time, or…”
Time blinked slowly, squinted and muttered, “…captain?”
Four almost dropped the spoon. Wild choked. “He must be really out of it if he mistook you for Wars!”
The smith let out a short laugh. “Yeah, I guess he must be. Maybe it’s because the Captain apparently raised the old man.”
Wild’s eyebrows shot up. “Really? HOW?”
Four shrugged. “Time travel shenanigans, apparently.” He focused on spooning the soup into Time’s mouth, who took it without protest this time. “You’d have to ask the captain.”
They fell into silence, Four concentrating on his task and Wild on keeping Time’s rather heavy torso upright. Finally, the bowl was empty, the bread consumed, and Time was laid back down on the bedroll and tucked in.
Wild stood up and stretched, puling out his slate to check the time. “Why don’t you go to bed, smith? Your watch has been over for a bit.”
Four stirred and looked up at Wild, before glancing back at Time. “But—”
“Hey.” Wild held out a hand to Four. “We’re all brothers here. I’ll keep a watch on Time, promise.”
“I…” Four glanced down at Time, then back at Wild’s face, which was determinedly smiling despite the anxiety still lurking in the tenseness of his muscles. He sighed, and grinned, taking Wild’s hand. “All right.”
Wild lent him his blanket, since Four’s was still draped over Time, and Four climbed into his bedroll, lying on his side and pulling the blanket over his shoulder.
His eyes slipped shut, his last thought a wish for a dreamless sleep.
*-/-*-/-*-/-*-/-*
The next two rooms were tricky, and the heroes were quiet as they followed Legend’s instructions, watching their feet lest they step on the wrong tile and send them all plummeting to their doom. The next room was less difficult, but still had one of the traps active.
Legend frowned down at the blue fireball. He frowned at Twilight. “Why didn’t you get rid of the fireball while you were getting rid of everything else and giving me anxiety?”
Twilight looked at him, unimpressed. “How am I supposed to get rid of a fireball.”
Legend refused to be suppressed. “I dunno, but that seems like a you problem.”
Wind grinned. “Well, now he can’t, can he? Cause it’d be a paradox, right?”
Legend scowled.
Sky frowned thoughtfully. “Well, I know I went back in time and changed stuff that I knew happened, so maybe it’s possible—”
“Anyone else getting a headache?” Hyrule whispered to the Colors, and Red and Green raised their hands.
VIo set his hands on his hips. “Is this really the most important thing at the moment?”
Legend coughed sheepishly and pointed at the switch across the way. “Someone hit that, please?”
Wind quickly pulled his bow out of his pack, aimed, and fired, turning the switch from red to blue. With a flick of the Cane of Somaria, Legend placed the block, and then flapped the cane at his companions. “Alright, hurry up! Let’s go, let’s go, let’s go!”
The heroes hastened down the stairs to the lower level, sprinting before the fireball could catch up to them. It was a narrow hallway, and there was a lot of them, and the fireball barreled towards them before they could all get up the steps.
Legend, who had reached the top of the stairs, turned to check on his brother’s progress, and paled. “Hyrule, Red, watch out!”
Hyrule saw the brilliant blue blaze bearing down on them, and acted quickly. He grabbed in both arm, frantically gathered magic, and jumped. The pair of them soared through the air, whooping excitedly as they passed over their comrades, and landed neatly on the top of the stairs next to Legend.
Legend propped his hands on his hips and nodded admirably. “Nice.”
Hyrule set Red down on the steps. The smith grinned wildly. “That was amazing.”
Twilight reached the top of the stair, quickly sweeping both of them into a bear hug—or would it be a wolf hug? Legend mused thoughtfully—lifting them up so their feet dangled. “That was some jump there, traveler.”
Hyrule beamed proudly. “I love that spell.”
Twilight laughed and set them back on the ground, and Wind and the other two Colors quickly gathered around. Vio was asking Hyrule the specifics of the spell, Green was ruffling Red’s hair, and Wind was excitedly asking Hyrule if he could jump next time.
Legend cleared his throat.
“Ready for the last boss?”
It took them a moment, but the heroes calmed down and settled down to the business of checking their gear and tallying supplies. Legend waited until it seemed they were all ready.
“Alright. The next boss is Mothula II, and here’s the plan.”
*-/-*-/-*-/-*-/-*
The door slammed shut behind them, and a giant moth rose from the floor, spreading it’s massive wings as it glared down at the heroes with eyes glowing with hostility.
Sky stared up at Mothula II and whistled. “That’d take some bug net.”
Twilight nodded solemnly. “I think Agatha would faint from joy.”
Legend spun the sword in his grip, glaring up at the bug. After… last time.. He didn’t really feel like playing around. “Ready to kick some bug butt?”
The other Links tightened their grips on their weapons, letting their silence be their answer.
With a mighty flap of it’s wings, two more giant moths spawned, and they began circling each other, spitting rings of sizzling energy.
“Arrows!” Legend called, and Twilight swiftly sent an arrow darting through the air, squarely piercing the moth’s head.
The moth exploded in a poof of dust, revealing a swarm of bees. A symphony of enraged buzzing rose as the swarm descended upon twilight—only for Sky to dart in front of the rancher, sword moving so swiftly it was almost dancing in his hand.
Bees fell in clumps, not a single one managing to get past the Chosen Hero’s guard.
Vio pulled back his bow, aiming and firing in a smooth, long practiced movement. The arrow thudded into a mouth’s eye, and the whole creature shuddered, flashing a dusty grey.
“That’s the one!” Legend yelled, grinning fiercely. “Great shot, Vio! Everyone, focus on him and ignore the others!”
He charged forward, stabbing his sword into the giant moth. Green, Twilight, Hyrule, and Sky were on his heels, blades flashing, and Wind had busted out a giant hammer, beating and battering the moth with glee. Twilight eyed him as he ducked an energy ring.
Maybe he still has pent-up rage from the Blind II fight. I wouldn’t be surpised, after all…
He charged at the moth with a savage yell, thrusting his sword into the moth’s abdomen.
…I know I do.
Vio and Red hung back, shooting off arrows and fireballs at Mothulla II in between calling out warnings about the clone. Mothula spat more and more energy rings, roaring in rage in concert with his flashing grey.
He seemed to be slowing, the wind stirred by the great flaps of his wings beginning to die off. Green noticed. He charged forward with a shout, eyes burning with emerald fire. The Four Sword swung in a glittering arc, slamming into Mothula II’s abdomen. The moth roared and flashed grey again, only to flash once more when a blazing fireball slammed into it, accompanied by a triumphant yell from Red.
The next moment, an arrow slammed into it’s other eye, and Mothula II screeched. It shuddered, froze, and turned a deathly grey all over. After one dreadful, silent moment, it slowly crumbled into dust, vanishing forever.
Vio lowered his bow with a grim smile.
Legend took a deep breath and whooshed it out in a sigh of relief, sliding his sword back into it’s sheath.
“We’re done.”
*-/-*-/-*-/-*-/-*
The Blue Sword stood proudly in the center of the room, the center of attention of every eye gathered there.
“So…” Wind crossed his arms, tipping his head to one side curiously. “…how badly is …Blue?... gonna react?”
Red’s shoulders drooped. “Very.”
“It’s not like you reacted well to the whole situation yourself,” Legend said, raising an eyebrow. “Is Blue really gonna be that different?”
The colors exchanged a glance. It was Vio who spoke, folding his arms and looking to one side. “Blue… is my passion. He feels deeply, and is not the best at keeping those emotions under control. Losing our—” He swallowed hard. “What happened hurts all of us, but because of his nature, it will hurt him the most.
“If we don’t stop him, he’ll try to take that hurt out on any perceived threat.”
There was a long beat of uncomfortable silence before Sky spoke up. “We’ll just have to be ready for anything, then.” He glanced around. “Who want’s to draw--?”
Wind shot his hand in the air. “I haven’t gotten a turn yet!”
Legend waved a hand towards the sword. “Be my guest!”
Wind stepped forward, and the other heroes gathered around, weapons set aside to leave hands free, muscles tensed and at the ready.
Wind pulled the sword, and a small figure clad in a blue tunic and cap appeared, black blood spilling out onto the stones below him, flowing in rivers from his side.
“Quick, grab him!” Twilight called, which was a mistake.
Blue exploded into action with a snarl. Before Twilight could get ahold of him, Blue had leapt forward onto Legend, spitting rage and clawing at his face. Only the instincts of six adventures enabled Legend to react in time—he reached up and managed to snag Blue’s wrists, but not before several stingling lines were drawn down his cheek. Blues hands flailed furiously in Legend’s grip, simultaneously trying to throttle the veteran and gouge his eyes out.
“HELP, PLEASE!” Legend yelled, and the rest of the Links, who had been frozen in shock, were galvanized into action. Twilight seized Blue around the middle, and despite Blue’s frenzied thrashing, managed to haul him off the veteran. Legend kept his hold on Blue’s wrists, trying to force them down before the smith managed to score a hit on the rancher, while Green and Vio grabbed Blue’s legs, but not before Vio took a boot to the face.
“Are you okay?” Red yelped, but Vio shook his head, wincing. His jaw ached and he was pretty sure his nose was bleeding, but that wasn’t the important thing right now.
“Quickly, heal him before his wound gets worse! All this thrashing could cause internal injuries!”
Sky had already drawn his sword, and Blue’s screaming increased. “I’ll kill you, just wait until I get my hands on—” The Master Sword blazed, and the blackness in the blood vanished, purified and incinerated. Blue cried out, whether in pain or rage they could not say, but before he could spit more vitriol, Hyrule grabbed his jaw and poured blue potion down his mouth. Blue tried to spit it out, but Hyrule clamped his jaw shut with an apologetic wince.
“I’m sorry but I don’t have a choice!”
Blue’s eyes blazed at Hyrule over his hand, but he was forced to swallow. Then he let out a gasp of shock when he felt the potion take effect, knitting the torn sinews and flesh together, smoothing the skin out once more.
Then he sunk his teeth into Hyrule’s hand. Hyrule yelped and tried to jerk back, but Blue’s grip was too strong, his eyes glaring the hatred of a thousand moblins.
Red dropped to his knees beside Blue, grabbed either side of Blue’s face, and shouted, “ZELDA’S OKAY!”
Blue instantly stilled.
He was still tense, but his eyes darted around the room, taking stock of everyone’s faces—and of the blooming angry swelling on Vio’s nose, foretelling a possible future of a double black eye.
Slowly, carefully, Blue relaxed his jaw. Hyrule snatched his hand away, shaking it ruefully and pulling a little on his Life spell to erase the teeth marks.
“Someone had better explain what is going on,” He growled, “And they’d better explain it fast.”
*-/-*-/-*-/-*-/-*
Despite his request, it took a long time to explain it to Blue, mostly because Blue would devolve into angry yelling and accusations if something seemed suspicious even in the slightest. Finally, though, after Green, Red, and Vio had vouched for the other heroes and what seemed to be happening, and after the evidence of the Hero of the Sky and the Goddess Sword of Legend, Blue seemed to believe it… though he certainly wasn’t happy.
“Why can’t we just use their… time travel quest whatever to get back home?” He flung his arm out. “If you think I’m just going to abandon my CHILDREN you are absolutely out of your mind!” He glared at Green, Red, and Vio. “I can’t believe you would just go along with this!”
Green gritted his jaw and looked away, Red’s head drooped, but Vio crossed his arms and cooly stared back at Blue. “Are you truly all right with the possibility of fracturing three flourishing timelines and dooming billions of lives to oblivion?”
Blue was tense as a drawn bowstring, glaring still at Vio for a long moment, before finally he deflated like a popped octo balloon.
He shook his head and looked away. “No, and you know that.” He ground his teeth, before rallying for a second round. “But how can you be sure it would do that? All you have to go off of are some words on a wall—it’s not like you know what happened to Link and Zelda—” his voice abruptly choked off, for he had seen the slight flinch in Vio’s expression, the tightening of his lips and the tiny movement of his violet irises glancing to the side.
Blue’s eyes widened, his breath catching in his chest, burning cold swirling in his chest. “You know.”
The accusation was low and hissed, shock and betrayal dripping like icicles from the words.
Everyone’s gaze snapped to Vio, who had gained control of his expression once more, his mien stern and cold as stone. “No, I don’t,” he said calmly.
Blue stepped forward, eyes narrowing. “Yes, you do,” he snapped. “I know you, Vio, you’re me. I know when you’re hiding something. You KNOW, or at least you have a guess, don’t you?” He snarled. “That’s it, isn’t it? You have a guess, and you don’t want to tell us until you know. Guess what? As soon as we join again every part of me will know, so why are you holding back when wE COULD BE RESCUING MY KIDS.”
“Blue, settle down!” Green called, but Blue ignored him.
He grabbed the front of Vio’s tunic, shaking him, but Vio stared back at him, his jaw gritted. “Because it’s just a guess,” he snapped. “I don’t have any proof, and I don’t want to build up false hopes or—” his voice faltered.
Green had stepped forward, trying to break the two of them apart, but Red had caught the note in Vio’s voice. “What is it, Vio?” He stepped forward, his voice rising with stress and fear. “What’s wrong. You’re acting like you think something…” he swallowed. “…terrible happened to the babies.”
Blue twisted his fists in Vio’s tunic, vibrating with rage. “This isn’t your time for games, Vio! You’re not solving anything, you’re just making it worse! What could possibly be worse than this situation? They’re already dead in this time, so how could it be any—”
“DON’T ASK ME THAT.” Vio yelled, his own eyes blazing, his cool façade finally cracked. “Don’t you dare ask me that, unless you think you’re prepared for the answer, because you’re not.” He was shaking now, with rage or sorrow or something in between, and he grabbed Blue’s tunic in return, matching Blue glare for glare.
“Answer me, Blue,” he said, his voice frantically trying to stay smooth, despite the cracks forming in it’s foundations. “Ever since you woke up, you’ve been trying to forget something, haven’t you? I can see it in your eyes, and in Red’s, and in Green’s. You don’t want to face it, so you’ve been running away from it. But I haven’t.”
Blue’s eyes widened, his grip on Vio slackening, but Vio pressed on.
“Tell me this,” he said, low and with the tenseness of a man hanging onto control by the fingernails, “from while we were sealed… what did you dream.”

Parley - Champion of Blood au
Masterpost
The parley is set in motion at noon. The pitiless desert sun beating down upon their backs, sand kicking up and battering their cheeks, squinting their eyes - they stand opposed on this canyon cliff, mere metres from each other. Zelda and her two dozen knights, the best of the best, facing lone Ganondorf, leaning up against a boulder ever so casually.
Meeting his gaze fills her with the dread of being outmatched anyway.
The fiery beams of noon light catch the gold pouldrens on her shoulders, the clasps of her prayer bracelets, and the decorated limbs of her bow, resting in her hand with an arrow nocked but not drawn. He holds no weapon at all. Nothing but his own arrogance.
“Surely this is overkill, Princess. This is a peaceful meeting.”
“Behind enemy lines, it will always treat you better to be prepared, Ganondorf.”
His face twists into a smile.
“As you see fit. Now,” He dismissively waves his hand, “Lay out your terms, and I shall see if they are agreeable.”
She retrieves a scroll from her right hand knight - a newer addition to her ranks, but suitable - and begins reading from the script upon it. Most of these are terms laid out by her father, and she can tell in the endless specifics and caveats and compromises that litter it. If it were truly her prerogative, she would throw away all acts of diplomacy and run the Demon King through here and now. But with their recent loss of… weaponry, they cannot afford to be rash. As such, here she is, borderline pleading with the unreasonable.
Half of the way through the scroll, she hears the clashing of metal, and pauses her reading immediately. Only a whistle of the wind greets her ears in the silence.
“Is there a problem, your highness?”
“...no.”
“Then please, stop wasting my time.”
She hesitantly continues on, ears up to catch anything more. Nothing but the whistling.
When the scroll is finally read through, Zelda returns it to her knight’s hand and faces Ganondorf once more.
“If you do not agree to these terms, Hyrule will commence a total blockade of the Gerudo deserts immediately. No trade will come through your canyons until either you surrender to our terms, or you die of starv–”
A shadow rounds the edge of the boulder behind Ganondorf. A short figure, lithe and graceful, draped in the same garb as the Demon King. When his face enters the light, she chokes on her words.
The sundered hero stares, cold and unblinking.
He stalks to Ganondorf’s side, welcomed by a smile that is too small to be anything but sickeningly genuine, and a hand trailing down to his hip that is borderline intimate. He's near dripping with blood, from his hands to his hair far longer than the Hyrule Military approved three inches, like he'd dipped them in the crimson like a child over eagerly playing in a pool of water. The Demon King pays it no mind as he gently tucks the half white, half blonde strands behind his ear, ensuring the scar stretching the length of his face and cutting through his eye is plainly visible to Zelda and her men.
The sundered hero does not break his eyes away from her once.
“It seems, Princess, that your preparations for this meeting were in vain. I do not agree to your terms, but you will find in the canyons no blockade that harm my people.”
The sundered hero takes a step forward.
“I suggest you turn tail and run, before you have no men left to save you. I’m very reluctant to deny my Champion of Blood much of anything - and least of all revenge.”
She gapes for one single moment more, before very quickly remembering her place both politically and physically, and taking her only chance of survival while she still can. Zelda bows to the King.
“We shall be seeing each other again, Ganondorf. Do not doubt this.” She retreats with her knights circling her completely, back to the path that will surely lead to a pile of bodies.
Zelda only feels the eyes of the Champion of Blood leave her back when there’s the ever so gentle smacking of lips that meet her ears.

More unfinished works for you all to eat up!
Blind Wild Au!
Time had been grateful to be directed towards a man who could help guide the chain to their new Link, until he met his guide. Time tried not to judge anyone on first appearances but he couldn't help himself. The man was missing an arm, was heavily scarred and seemed to be blind in both eyes, his left eye was milky white, similar to Time's right eye. His other eye looked fine but Time recognized that unfocused look as the man looked up at him.
Legend, who had been walking with Time turned almost violent at the stable hand that led them to the guide. Time was half tempted to let him berate the man but he had to stop him from getting them dragged away from the only source of shelter they had seen in hours.
The blind man gave a sharp, single note whistle to stop Legend in his tracks. He stood and came over to the three. Legend did not fight with the blind man, though it seemed like both were just waiting for the other to make the first move.
Time cleared his throat and asked if the man was a guide and he nodded. Time asked if he would be willing to help them make a trip to the closest town. The man glared at Legend before nodding at Time.
Time went and told the rest of the chain what they would do, next time he looked at the traveler he had a mechanical arm attached to his stump and a horse saddle and was ready to leave. He was quick for someone who could not see.
Soon the chain and the guide would start out on their journey, and the group settled on going to Kakiriko. It was a place where multiple people of the chain recognized from their own Hyrule's
During the journey the group runs into a horde of monsters. They try their best to protect their guide but the man holds his own well, too well. He is able to do flips and behead monsters better than the rest of them.
Another thing that surprises the chain is how well the man can cook. Time couldn't say that It was better than Malon's cooking but he was a close runner up.
Hyrule had been taking a lot of walks away from the chain since they met the traveler. Hyrule says that the traveler gives off a powerful magic and it's giving him headaches to be so close to him. When Time later asks about the magic traveler chuckles and mentions that he has a device that can help him navigate the world. It is like he is feeling everything within a ten foot radius, from there he can make a map of the area in his head like he would anything he touches. This really interests most of the chain.
One day, towards the end of the journey, Wind asks the traveler about his arm. He laughs and explains that a scientist made it for him as well as the device that helps him see. Wind presses and asks how he lost his arm or if he was born like that. Traveler explains that he lost it to a bad magic that decayed his arm and nearly killed him. He seems to be happy to tell the story because he lived to tell it.
In the bathery plain, the chain sees a woman riding a golden horse, she and the traveler look at one another and fly off their horses and greet one another. With link and Zelda, the chain is not amassed that they came so far just to find out that they had been traveling with link the entire time.
Wild masks!
The gang appears in a new hyrule, they assume as it was night at the time they arrived, at first they figure this must be a time where the world is at peace but start to look for people of hyrule. It seems like a ruined hyrule, similar to Hyrules but soon they find some travelers. They don't seem too excited to speak and even run off when Wind mentions the name Link.
The chain is confused but March on. Some time later they find a stable in the distance. Sky to gaspes and points out something watching them. The group turns just to see bright red eyes looking back at them before the eyes disappear into the dark. The group is on high alert as they start to walk faster to camp. Then time nearly runs into a living shadow, red eyes watching then.
Times improvised torch barely reflects off the body of the creature, an almost pitch black hylian form. The group seems horrified by this, seeing a dark link stalking them, now mere feet away. Time swings his torch at the dark link before it jumps back into the darkness. The only indication of where it was was the glow of its eyes. A second later the eyes traveled skywards before disappearing, a moment later an energy sent everyone flying off to the side, originating from a point just in the middle of them all, the eyes appeared right in the middle of it.
Wars is on his feet first, flinging himself at the dark link. His sword cuts deep even as the being tries to jump away from the blunt of the attack. The shadow hits the ground with an ugly thud and tries to stand but Twilight stomps down on its torso, stopping it from moving. "What are you doing here?" Twilight asks, voice still strong despite the short battle.
Dark link almost growls before answering. "What do you mean by that?" It yells, teeth bared like a wild animal. Time watches as its left hand slips down to its belt, trying to grab something. Time reacts, getting down and grabbing the arm to stop it from doing what it was planning to do with the hand. The creature's hisses at the touch and starts to thrash under Twilight.
"What have you done with Link? Why are you following us?" Time questioned while leaning over a bit more to look at the thing's face. Time hadn't touched one of those for as long as he had now, but he never really expected it to be warm and feel so solid. It was like a normal hylian in truth.
The dark link laughed at them. "What's so funny?" Twilight put a bit more of his weight on the things chest, causing it to start coughing instead. "Answer me!"
The dark link glared. "What makes you think he isn't here?" Twilight and Tine were surprised by that answer. The dark link must have anticipated that, it pushes itself off the ground, knocking Twilight off balance and onto the ground. In the same movement it bites down on Time's arm, making him pull away with a yelp. Time recovers quickly and throws himself at the shadow, intending to hold it fown before it can attack again. The moment Time's hands touch its shoulders the dark link bursts into strings of blue light that temporarily blinds Time
He opened his eyes once the light faded. The dark link was gone. He stands, ready to attack but nothing happens, the creature is gone. The group is shocked but after some time rush to the stable. They rest there, leaving early in the morning to start looking for Zelda or link. The castle was in view so they went there
Castle town and the castle itself were old and decayed. It was more then a bit worrying to see the castle in such ruin. They continued on ward asking as many questions as they thought they could before having to move on.
Days would pass of them going from stable to stable in search of more knowledge or a link. They learned enough to know that there must be a link since the Ganon had only been killed a month ago.
They March through a ravine, getting rid of any monsters on the way, most are not infected. Sky taps quickly on Time's arm. "Someone is watching us." Time looks up and sees a person with white hair and blue clothes watching them a moment after he notices the white eyes and tattoos. It's the fierce deity. The deity watches them, unmoving as the rest of the group stares up at him.
This quiet stare down goes on for some time, neither party moving. The deity jumps down onto a rock ledge still staring. It doesn't get onto even ground with them, staying higher up.
Songs of the Wild!
This us a self indulgent fic that really wasnt going to be published even if it was finished, the songs I quote are.
The song of healing by Niki Jenson
Ballad of the windfish by Alice Flare
The chain had been lucky, they realize, to land nearly at the doorstep to this stable. At first, it had been chaos. Travelers, musicians and stablehands were up in arms in seconds to defend themselves from what they had thought was an attack from a cult of assassins. After everything was explained (and Time nearly getting his head sliced off by a particularly rilled up gerudo), the chain was welcomed to the stable as travelers, even if they did arrive there in an odd manner.
Intact, most people at the stable, upon hearing the explanation of them being travelers from a different time (yes they had to explain that much to let anyone believe that they weren't any danger), people begun to lay down the laws of the land to them in great detail.
It was quite a gift in reality. The chain would have worked on pure instinct and gone to the castle which is uninhabited and might still contain creatures that will blow them to smithereens in one attack. A man, calling himself Cucco, showed off his scars yo the chain that came from a direct blast of a guardian beam. His scars cross over most of his face, deforming the edge of his mouth and trailed down to his left calf.
Cucco also made a deal with them in minutes of their arrival, he makes them food if they hand over as much information of their hyrules as they possible could. Of course the chain agreed.
The chain was certain that Cucco was Link, he matched the visuals for one, hylain, somewhat pale skin, blondish hair but they couldn't confirm anything.
Sky had mentioned in the chaos that they were looking for the hero of hyrule and were all heroes themselves but no one seemed to truly flinch at it. Mentioning it again, however, got a rougher reaction from the stable people. All were adamant that Link stay with them. Even Cucco expressed that “their hero” Stay in hyrule because he was needed in reconstruction matters. All the chain could do is tell the truth, he would have no choice, much like they didn't.
Cucco would keep them up late talking about their hyrules, eventually someone would start to ask him questions and he happily replied. Apparently, Cucco was a part time researcher but mostly traveled with a group called ‘The Stable Trotters’. He and this group were currently traveling across Hyrule to preform to the main vilages and town around hyrule and had just come back from gatgering their members, menaing they would just be starting their tour together.
Cucco and The Stable Trotters asked the group if they wanted to come with seeing as they needed to find their wild hero. The Chain eventually agreed to it but did say they might not be able to follow for too long, especially once they find the hero.
The next morning the Stable Trotters would preform a soft melody to the stable. Every started to gather up near or on the seatings provided to them. After the moment of nonsensical strumming was done, the stable trotter began to play their song. Time immediately recognized the notes and his heart dropped into his stomach.
The Song of Healing.
The has just started and it's all Time hears. The musicians Humm to the start of the song, it sounds like magic flowing around them but it's only their voices. They slowly stop to hum and one, a younger girl in the group, begins o sing. “Day to night, Dark to light / Fall the sands of time.”
Time breaths and holds onto the clasps of his armor. The music becomes background noise as he attempts to calm himself. As soon as he starts to believe that he has calmed, that his overreaction was, indeed, just an overreaction, he hears Antlune sing. “()"
Time stiffens and begins to listen to her song. “()"
Time tires to breathe again, takibg slow, deep breaths like Malon once told him too, it barely helps. He glances away from the stage for just a moment and sees Cucco staring with an all to knowing expression. He knows that the song reflects Time's journey in Termina. He may not know the specifics but he knows something at least and that scares Time.
Time stands, and gives Twilight a short excuse to why he's leaving. “Three days is all you have to change your fate”. Time flinches at those words but makes it to the other end of the stable and out of sight of the others just as it all seems to slam into him.
You can't save them. You will never help them all. Useless hero. Failure. Failure. Dawn of a New Day. You will never win. Never beat it. It controls you. You failed to save them. Dawn of the second day. Time's running out. You will never make it. The moon falls. So will you. Not a hero. Dawn of the final day. You've lost. Those same notes, again and again and again and again and again and-
There's a weight on Time's side and he flinches away on instinct. Cucco had sat down next to him at some point.
Excuses and apologies sit at the tip of Time's tongue but Cucco doesn't give him the chance to speak. “It's okay. I know. Push against me. Breathe with me, okay?” it takes a moment for Time to do as Cucco said but when he does, it works miracles
Cucco promises to never tell anyone about this, and later that day the large group takes off to Gerudo Valley.
The wagon and horses have no trouble getting over the rocky terrain.  They stop at another stable, just shy of the desert. Together with the chain, the stable Trotters settle down for the night. They sing a little song that's in the works for the stable that night.
Time does not recognize this song yet it drives emotions from him as well. The soft music sounds almost mournful. Antlune sings in this song as well, her voice is riddled with emotion. “Fade away, in the gray of an unknown dream. / When the sea, swallows me, in the stream / please never forget”.
Time begins to look over his other boys. It could have been a fluke that he would be spoken of in the last song, but if it wasn't, he would be there for his boys. “The adventure and the dreams we had. / I'll fade; it is my fate.”
Time catches Legend's ears moving to better listen to the song. “Farewell, dear Hero…” Legend sits up a little straighter. “Let the light, be your guide, as you sail away.“ Legend's hands grip tightly onto his knees.
Uh oh.
“I can make, and can take, a new day. / Away from the light, / yes, this dream will have to end tonight.” Legend's ears pinned to the side of his head and his shoulder tensed. Time looked around to try figuring out a way to help Legend get out of this situation. “They'll fade; it’s their fate. / Farewell, brave hero…”
Time stands and goes behind Legend. He leans down to whisper to him. “Legend I nee-”
Legend bares his teeth. “Shut up.” He turns back to the stage before Time can even process his own surprise.
Cucco, Antlune, and Elios continue their ballad. “Friend of mine, it is time, to say our last goodbyes. / Hold my hand, dearest friend, this dream dies…” The three on stage bow as the crowd erupts in claps and praises for their work. Legend stays still until the three musicians start off the stage Legend gets up and immediately follows them.
Should I post these to Ao3 in a multichapter burial ground for unfinished works? It would be easier for any of you interested in these unfinished works to hear from me.

So next from the poll was Hermit, though with a surprise cause I am including Age of Calamity into the AU cause why not Fuck with the timeline even further. So I do have the order labeled but from Left to Right we have Age of Calamity, Link from BotW flashbacks, Link waking up on the Plateau, BotW Link in a "Repaired" champion's Tunic, and Tears of the Kingdom/Final Look.
As usual I will be including more information below the cut.
During one of these trips away from the palace, when stopped near the Faron Woods, Link left the camp in the dead of night almost in a trance and returned early the next morning with the Master Sword in hand. From then on his time spent in the Palace Kitchens was over as he was trust into serious training and taught all forms of weaponry.
THE CALAMITY
Link spent much of his younger years within the palace after moving into the barracks with his father, following the deaths of his mother and younger sister when his village was raided by bandits. While he spent some time in the barracks watching his father and the other knights much of his time was spent helping in the kitchen, learning from an elder woman who worked in the kitchen Mihn. He was happy to use his knowledge when he travelled with his father and his troops whenever they left the palace barracks.
It was as the Sheikah were testing the newly excavated Guardians that Zelda was overseeing the knights progress, while also sating her curiosity regarding the Guardians that a stray shot heading towards the princess was deflected by Link and he was quickly appointed as her Guard by the king.
So Link ended up following Zelda, and being hated by the princess as she saw him as a reminder of her failure to unlock her powers, though even after he saved her from the Yiga, during one of her trips visiting Urbosa, she did not completely warm up to him. After that inccident she instead ignored his presence as he tailed her as she continued trying to unlock her powers.
It wasn't until the Calamity struck and Zelda saw just how far Link was willing to go to protect her that she understood just how harsh she was to the boy that had lost just as much as she did, if not more. She tasked the Sheikah traveling with her to transport Link to the Shrine so that he may heal from his injuries while she left to face the Calamity alone and ended up fighting a battle alone that lasted 100 years.
From there Link traveled to the Sheikah and was guided by Impa, gaining memories as he went that left him with mixed feelings towards his goal and the princess who in the end saved his life and has overseen the protection of Hyrule as he healed.
100 YEARS LATER
When Link first awoke on the plateau his memories were gone though, if he had been able to at the time, would explain that the time he spent healing had almost felt like a dream. While on the Plateau he was guided and taught by an Elder male who inhabited the region, who was later revealed to be the King. After activating the towers and completing the shrines on the plateau Link watched as a shadowing mist seemed to almost glide through the air around the broken palace before being pushed back by a light of similar form.
During his journey he worked to free the divine beasts and was forced to face the corrupted remains of those he once called friends 100 years ago as well as defeat the Blights that had killed them. In between Divine Beasts he traveled, retrieved the Master Sword from its resting place and helped the remaining inhabitants of Hyrule who had begun to thrive once again during last 100 years.
After defeating the Calamity his mixed feelings towards Zelda returned, while deep down the task of protecting her arose he memories of her treatment of him until the end, kept from from doing more than escort her to Kakariko and then his home in Hateno that he gifted to her as his last act as her knight before leaving and deciding to continue traveling and helping around Hyrule.
Upon the individual reawakening Zelda was attacked, Link's muscle memory making him move with little thought where he recieved damage to his arm, while the cave system collapsed beneath them and Zelda disappeared in a spark of light. Link met the ghost of Rauru, a past King of the lost Zonai race, and was given direction on how to navigate the new sky islands before he was able to return to the surface with the task of finding Zelda who was still missing and had taken the remains of the Master sword with her to the past, where Rauru explained she was located.
THE UPHEAVAL
With some time away from Zelda following the Calamity's defeat Link found Zelda in one of the new growing settlements close to the palace where he agreed to accompany her into the Palace to explore the lower cave system left by the Calamity under the Palace. While exploring they uncovered mysterious records of an unknown time and age and those who inhabited it. At the deepest part of the cave system they uncovered the remains of an individual left to rot beneath the Palace.
After helping the regions around Hyrule with phenomenon plaguing their areas and retrieving the Master Sword from the light Dragon, Link was able to defeat the remains of the corruption below the palace and the monster that it became, gaining help from the spirits of Rauru and his wife Sonia, who were able to assist in returning Zelda to their time, though she did not return as she once was, she was changed from the events she lived through and her memory of any of the events was broken or hazy at best.
This Zelda understood the mistake of her "alternate" self and repaired the broken connection with Link and was able to lead her people to victory with her knowledge of what the Calamity would use against them, leading to the destruction and repurposing of the Guardians, removing a weapon from the playing field that would've been used against them in the end.
AGE OF CALAMITY
A break in the timeline from the meddling of the Goddesses and the blood and power within Zelda when she awakened her powers. Hyrule was given a second chance against the Calamity as time was reversed a month before the Calamity's attack. As it was Zelda's power that broke the timeline she awoke in this time with knowledge of the Calamity's attack and it was viewed as a prophecy brought on by her divine blood.

@alucanid I’m your Secret Midna! You said modern AUs have your heart and soul? I was going to gift you this redraw of botw zelink in that red carpet appearance by Oscar Isaac and Jessica Chastain but I’m me and I stayed up until 3am plotting out an entire modern(ish it’s still hyrule but advanced) AU backstory. Merry merry!
It is one thousand years since the fall of the Calamity. One thousand years since Hylia whispered to a daughter of her blood. One thousand years since the last Hero rose from the dead, performed his sacred charge and then disappeared into The Lost Woods. Hyrule has once again abandoned the wild in favor of the advancements of Sheikah technology. Now with safeguards in place, the Realm is confident in the integrity of the Power.
Massive steel cities rise from the ground up. Trade routes open. Cultures blend. Every inch of Hyrule, save for The Lost Woods which have grown hostile toward all travelers, has been mapped. Old magic—faeries, the dragons, spirits—fades into the blue glow of engines and streetlights and Sheikah slates. Until now.
The Princess of Hyrule claims she is hearing a voice; urgent and hushed, in a dead language. A boy covered in scars walks out of the Lost Woods, completely mute, with an ancient sword. Monsters start to crawl out of the shadows. There is an echo of breath in the mines under Hyrule Castle. The public begins to lose faith in the protections of the Royal Family. So the King devises a plan.
The Princess and the boy from the woods are to spread hope throughout Hyrule in a series of formal appearances. Lavish parties, merchandise, interviews—a distraction until the Royal Family and the Sheikah can figure out what is going on.
Rumors swirl about a romance between the Princess and this low-born. A relationship is strictly forbidden by the King, which isn’t a problem because the two seem to despise one another. For now.
“Link, over here!”
“Princess, this way.”
“Princess! A smile for your kingdom!”
He should be used to this by now but the lights still blind him. Zelda drapes her arm across his shoulder and poses obediently, ruby red lips curving into a smile he can tell is forced by the way the muscles in her face twitch. He watches it for a moment, trying to calm his breath like she taught him.
That’s when he notices there is a glow on her skin. In between the flash of the cameras—something gold and shimmering. She’s giving off a warmth, too. It prickles his skin like the first glimpse of sun after winter.
But he’s never seen winter. He thinks.
Something swells inside him. It reaches from that ancient place with both hands; yearning for her warmth. He glances up at her through his lashes, salvia in his mouth, and for a second he’s almost feral. Wolf-ish.
Before he can stop himself, his lips are on the glow on the inside of the arm draped across his shoulder. It’s like he’s swallowed a star. Like he has been underwater all this time and only just come up for air at the last second. His entire body sings; his blade striking steel.
She freezes in his arms. Green eyes blow wide with shock. She feels it, too?
And then the frenzy starts.
The crowd explodes. Sheikah cameras flash rapidly. It’s a blur of light and clicks and chaos. It is the song of a scandal.
“Well,” Zelda says under her breath, leaning into him completely. “Father said they needed a big distraction. Nice work.”
She folds a hand against his chest. “Hold my waist.”
He does.
“Lower.”
He does.
The crowd erupts with cheers. Someone shouts for him to kiss her again.
Link swallows. He doesn’t know how to tell her that he’s starting to remember strange things. Winter in Hebra. Old forms. Broken ruins in Hyrule field. Metal spiders and poison rot. Her waist-deep in a Spring. Her holding him close, blood in her face. Her trapped deep within the belly of Evil.
He’s trembling. She squeezes him reassuringly. “It’s just a game.”
He doesn’t know how to tell her.
It’s never been a game.

Hello! May I make a request if they are still open for Linked Universe? I was thinking of how interesting it would be if Reader also had their own shadow like the Chain. Dark!Reader. I would like to request the Chain reacting to Dark!Reader, bonus if you add Dark Link in there, too. 🎃
I love these type of aus 💕 they’re my faves lol
Characters: The Chain x Dark!Reader
A/N+Warnings: N/A, safe for everyone. Written by Mishwanders - pls do not repost.
When they first find out that you have a Dark Shadow that plagues your existence too - they feel a lot of sympathy for you.
Time especially so. If there’s any guilt or shame you feel surrounding it in the Dark Shadow, he definitely understands your feelings, even if he may not be the best at expressing it, but he tries, even if his words may come off a bit harsh on how to handle it.
Twilight also understands. He’s had his fair share of dealing with darkness too, and if anything, he's much more sympathetic towards you because of it.
Wars and Sky are definitely taking over training with you. They want you to be able to handle yourself if a fight ever erupted because they care about you and they don’t want to lose you to it.
Wild, Wind, and Hyrule are definitely trying to help keep your spirits up amidst your woes and worries over the whole situation. You can always fall back on them to make you smile.
And as much as Four and Legend are trying to do so as well, their minds are more so preoccupied with formulating a plan - one that the others will eventually be dragged into, but you will not be involved. They don’t want your Dark Shadow getting any sort of an upper hand and their arsenal has a plethora of magical weapons to bind your Dark Shadow long enough for an interrogation. If the opportunity presents itself, they most definitely will strike to help you take it down.
HOWEVER - none of them know your Dark Shadow has found a certain kinship in Dark Link, having been found and training alongside him as well. It will make for an interesting reunion to say the least.
But when the day does arrive, you’re sure you’ll be ready, because if not? Well, someones going to lose something, whether it be a limb or life itself, and that’s not something you can risk.

Incredibles au things I’ll probably write about at some point but haven’t yet so I’m making a list because lists are fun and I’ve had some of these in mind for ages and I never really talk about them:
Wild and Hyrule bond over both being adopted and both having scars
Twilight nearly gets hit by a car when he’s little and Time saves him with his powers, but they end up having to move because of it
Stuff about Links that appear later
Side character things (Ravio, Groose, Champions, etc) where they get a lil focus/backstory
What happened to Sky’s parents
What happened to Time & Warriors’ mom
More stuff with the Zeldas because I don’t do stuff with them nearly enough despite having ideas for several of them
Shadow causes problems on purpose
Warriors dates his long-lost crush he hasn’t seen in like a decade but doesn’t even realize it until he has a bunch of rocks dropped on top of him (literally)
And reasons for nicknames that haven’t been elaborated on yet
