The Demon Sesshomaru:

“Overcoming the rules and symbolism expected of them, characters seek to transcend all distinctions of gender, race and upbringing to communicate, interact and love one another. This is a main theme that exists in all of Rumiko Takahashi’s major works. Even Inuyasha (serialized from 1996 to 2008 in Weekly Shonen Sunday), which has a more serious style than Urusei Yatsura, portrays characters who build relationships across categories, such as Sesshomaru, a demon who cares for the human girl Rin.”

Sessrin: Demon Slayers

Tajiro Kamado, Inosuke Hashibira, and Zenitsu Agatsuma journey in a dark forest at night. The trio of demon slayers were told of a dangerous demon that lay in a cabin and travel there to slay it. 

After they walk for miles, the demon slayers arrive at the cabin. They soon notice a figure, the demon, exit the cabin. The demon has the form of a man wearing a white kimono with a spiked pauldron on his left shoulder and a mokomoko-sama on his right shoulder. It have long silver hair and a violet crescent moon on the forehead. Readying themselves, the demon slayers spread out to surrounded the demon, hoping to catch it by surprise. 

Sesshomaru was hoping that tonight was going to be a regular night, but he catch the smell of three humans surrounding him. Sighing, he said to them, “I can smell you three.” While shocked, the three demon slayers come out of hiding and attack. Sesshomaru is powerful, but he make sure that he didn’t go for any killing blows, which cause him to be overcome by the three.

Inside the cabin, Rin hear noises outside and got worry for her husband that she look outside to see Sesshomaru capture by three humans with a shirtless man wearing a boar head yelling, “WE GOT YOU NOW, DEMON!” Rin run out and stand in front of the demon slayers, saying to them, “I’ll not let you kill my husband.” The dog demon said to his wife, “Rin, get out of here.” Zenitsu quickly said, “The demon bewitched her. Kill him!” but Tanjiro order his team mate to stay down as he realized that Rin and Sesshomaru feelings for each other are real like his and his cursed sister Nezuko. Tanjiro said to Rin, “I’m sorry, but we were told that your husband was a dangerous demon.” and Rin ask, “Are all demons dangerous to you?” That question hit Tanjiro hard.

Due to the talk, the demon slayers left the forest with no demon killed.

There are certain rigorous trials a demon lord must undergo if he wishes to take up his father's mantle, and when those trials turn ugly, it's up to a single human girl to finally turn a tired narrative on its head.

(Or "Sesshoumaru has a really bad time and Rin gets to save him for once.")

So I just noticed this fic is the Featured Fic on the @sessriniscanon website, so I decided to post it on Tumblr for posterity. (And also thank you so much for the recommendation!!)

Sessrin: A new beginning

 Standing outside his brother’s hut, Sesshomaru has never imagined that he would be this worry as Rin is in labor for their third child. After being reunite after so many years, the husband and wife reunion got a bit crazy and lead to Rin being pregnant again. Of course, his half brother Inuyasha has got his wife pregnant twice after their return. Standing by Sesshomaru is Inuyasha with his two new kids Akio and Izayo, his older daughter Moroha, and his daughters Towa and Setsuna. Soon, a baby cry was hear and Kagome come out, saying, “Rin and the baby are alright.” Sesshomaru enter, followed by his daughters.

 Rin lay on the futon as her new bundle of joy feed on her exposed breast. Sesshomaru enter the room and Rin, noticing her husband, said to him, “Sesshomaru, meet your son.” The dog demon walk to his wife’s side to see a baby boy with white hair feeing on his mother’s milk. He ran the back of his hand on the baby as Towa and Setsuna joined his side. The baby open his eyes to reveal golden ones like his father. Rin said to her son, “This is your family, little one.” and Setsuna ask her mother, “What are you going to name him?” Rin answer, “I was thinking Rui.” and the baby smile at his name.

The last anon is right when they say Viz strikes down fanmade Inuyasha merch. About a year ago, one of my favorite pin maker had to go private because some guy was scouring the internet to have Inuyasha merch taken down. Wish he’d come back for SessRinIsCanon🙃

Sesshomaru's possible thought Process During the events of the InuYasha\Yashaime series Part 7

Since the last anon brought this up, yeah, SessRinIsCanon is fucking whack. Like I get being starved for merch but that’s a full on business that they’re running, with collaborators and a fucking newsletter, A NEWSLETTER. They’re treating SessRin the way that the Tolkien estate treats Tolkien’s works. Pathetic bunch of roaches. I’m glad they all got exposed.

Oh, it's totally fucked up that their dumb little creepy website exists.

I don't mean to sound like I'm blaming antis, cause that's not my intention. But I feel like if antis didn't exist, or no one had spoken up, they maybe wouldn't have created the website at all.

I think antis being vocal about their hatred or dislike or whatever toward SR just made the crazy shippers seek more validation.

But that's in no way our fault and I'm glad people have spoken up against SR and continue to be vocal against it because... well... it's fucking disgusting.

But, back to your point. Totally agree. I've never been involved in fandoms before this one... okay aside from sonic during my quizilla days <3. But like I have never this bootlicky for a ship in my entire life.

It's so so fucked up and weird. They are honestly just proving fiction affects (or more so influences in this case) reality :)

It is incredible and hypocritical that the anti-SessRin believe themselves defenders of morality, surely they do not move their ass for real causes. But they are so mad that someone ships SessRin. Ah, but did you get a good look at Miroku touching Kagome and Sango's ass, and wanting to hook up with every woman he knew, huh? When precisely, Sesshomaru never did anything to Rin, nothing was ever hinted at, it wasn't even her father. That was Jaken's job. What kind of father takes his son into frequent danger, only six months pass, and then leaves it in the care of others? Wouldn't a true father abandon all that to dedicate himself 100% to the care of his son?Agree, antis. If there is grooming, it was never her father, and if it was her father, there is no grooming. The two things together, it kind of doesn't make sense. And I remind you, as a new fan that I am (I saw the anime/manga in 2019), that the ship would be finalized with an adult Rin aware of her decisions, and a daiyokai. Not a human. And a daiyokai who could never father her in the first place, because of his unresolved daddy issues. And I remind you of something else. Inuyasha's age is very varied. In theory, Kagura was younger than Kanna, despite looking 17. And she did not have a human year of life (even less), while Rin was 8 human.To be guided by Inuyasha's ages is pretty wrong and illogical. Don't fuck around. Say you don't like the ship because you preferred SessKagu, be more honest, and don't think you're politically correct. Because they are boring. Also, believe yourself a big fan of only Inuyasha, of the "OG", because you simply believe that yashahime is created by fanservice and to make money. Do you really know that the mangaka's job? And what's wrong with doing it for money? It is her work (same as her previous works), respect it or not. But doing a "boycott" is really unpleasant and immature. Do not consume it and that's it. One more fan, one less fan. We are just numbers.Now mangakas and other workers in the entertainment industry must do their works just for the love of art, that they do not charge for this. Especially in a time of pandemic. Antis disgust me.
