COLD NIGHT — inuyasha characters reaction ft. inuyasha, sesshomaru, koga [headcanon]

context: amidst the camp set up for the night, you spread your blanket on the ground while your partner opts to lie beside you. despite the warmth emanating from the large fire, your body retains a chill, though it doesn't trouble you greatly. however, someone else appears more affected, expressing their discomfort unlike you.

warnings: fluff. slight ooc? lowercase intended. gn! reader

notes: ty for the request anon! if you can't tell, i prefer sesshomaru more lol. also why doesn't Inuyasha and koga have good alias names ugh

INUYASHA ─ ❝ HALF—DOG ❞

➜ inuyasha would sit up against the rough bark of a nearby tree, his hand resting on the hilt of his sword, ready for any potential intruders. you settle down beside him, seeking warmth and solace in his presence. your hand reaches out to him, seeking comfort and reassurance that he's beside you.

➜ as your hand makes contact with his, his serene expression swiftly transforms into one of alarm, his eyes snapping open wide. he jerks his hand away from yours, swiftly moving it towards the fire to regain warmth.

➜ “the hell is wrong with your hands!? they’re colder than the damn snow right now!”

➜ you scoff at his words, turning away from him in response. inuyasha grumbled at your reaction before firmly gripping your shoulders and pulling you closer to him, snuggling you into his warm embrace.

➜ “since you wanna be stubborn and not get near the fire, i guess i’ll just stay next to you for the night.”

LORD SESSHOMARU ─ ❝ BEAST KING ❞

➜ unlike inuyasha’s outburst, sesshomaru is more the silent-but-glaring type of partner in this situation.

➜ when your hand accidentally brushes against his face while adjusting a few strands of his hair, his golden eyes widen briefly at the contact before narrowing into a silent, intense glare.

➜ you pull your hand back quickly, shooting him an apologetic smile as he continues to glare, the sensation of your cold hands disrupting his slumber. it was rare for sesshomaru to join you and the group, let alone to sleep as well, but now, you've ruined it with your never-ending coldness.

➜ you turn around on the blanket, keeping your hands to yourself as you quietly sigh, feeling regretful for ruining the moment.

➜ after a few seconds, you feel something heavy and warm drape across your freezing body. it takes a moment to realize it's sesshomaru's mokomoko, which he has placed on you, providing the extra warmth you need that the fire couldn’t.

➜ even though you knew sesshomaru wasn’t one to talk about his feelings, you appreciated how he expressed his love more through actions than words.

KOGA ─ ❝ WOLF CUB ❞

➜ as the leader of the wolf-demon tribe, koga had numerous responsibilities to ensure the survival of his pack, with one of his main priorities being the protection of you, a human. despite being vastly different from your wolf-demon boyfriend, koga fell in love with you at first sight and would do anything to ensure your safety.

➜ as night fell, you settled around the campfire with the tribe, aiming to get some rest. however, the cool breeze that kept blowing made it difficult, causing your hands to grow numb from the biting cold.

➜ you shivered from the intense cold, despite being wrapped in a blanket. koga could feel your shaking body against his own, which startled him awake. quickly, he turned to face you with a scowl as he realized what was going on.

➜ “why the hell didn’t ya say anything? you’re freezing! here, take my hands.”

➜ you hesitated at first before settling your numbed hands against his warmed, rough ones. his touch sent a comforting warmth through your chilled fingers, and you graced him with a grateful smile for his kindness.

➜ koga would then move your sleeping bag closer to the fire and wrap his arms around your body, pulling you so close to his chest that you could hardly breathe, enveloping you in his warmth. he cared deeply for your comfort and always made sure you were satisfied.

Gift fic thing for @blossomingbellflower, in regards to a canonized standalone scene for our ship. The associated art that goes along with this: (☾)

Context: Sesshomaru invites Kikyo to attend a Tanabata festival together, and he later explains why he has no need to write a Tanzaku himself.

Length: 2,275 words

On this day, Sesshomaru had asked for Kikyo to visit, and when she arrived, an attendant had handed her a blue yukata decorated with colorful flowers to wear. It was to match the blue yukata that Sesshomaru himself was wearing. After seeing that Kikyo had changed, he was content in knowing that they looked the part to enjoy the festivities at a nearby shrine.

There was a local shrine celebrating Tanabata with the locals by handing out different colored Tanzaku for people to write on. The day after, the shrine would take the Tanzaku and process them so the wishes of the participants could reach the Gods.

Hand in hand, the two walked through the shrine, watching as families and couples came by to write their wishes on Tanzaku, attaching them to bamboo. A young girl had approached them and handed them a pair of Tanzaku.

Kikyo was always quite willing to play the part and go along with whatever a child was asking of her, so she had written something on her Tanzaku. It was only at this moment did their hands part.

Tanabata, or otherwise known as Hoshimatsuri was a festival for the humans to celebrate the reunion of the deities Orihime and Hikoboshi, two lovers separated by the Milky Way.

Only on the seventh day of the seventh lunar month are the two allowed to reunite with one another when the skies are clear.

Inspired by the famous Chinese folklore story of the Cowherdsman and the Weaver girl, Orihime was the daughter of the Sky king, the Weaving Princess. She wove beautiful clothes by the bank of the Amanogawa, the heavenly river, or the ‘Milky Way’ as those of modern times know it as.

Her father the Sky king loved the clothes she wove so diligently every day, but she feared that she would never have the chance to meet or fall in love with anyone with her stationary life.

Concerned over her welfare, Tentei had arranged for her to meet Hikoboshi, a cow herder, who lived and worked on the other side of the Amanogawa. When they met, they instantly fell in love with each other and were promptly married to each other.

This union was short-lived as Hikoboshi would allow his cows to stray all over Heaven and Orihime stopped weaving beautiful clothes for Tentei. Enraged, the king separated the two lovers, forbidding them to meet.

Orihime became despondent at being separated from her husband, her tears moving her father to allow them to meet on the 7th day of the 7th month if she worked hard to finish her weaving.

Alas, when the promised time arrived, they could not meet due to there being no bridge to use to cross the river. Orihime’s crying attracted a flock of magpies that promised to make a bridge with their wings for her to crossover. Henceforth, the two star-crossed lovers can meet on this day every year, unless it rains.

Legend says that if it rains on Tanabata, the magpies cannot come because of the rise of the river, and so the lovers must wait another year to meet. This day is dubbed, ‘the tears of Orihime and Hikoboshi.’

While Sesshomaru did not particularly care for the odd customs of humans, there was something about the story that resonated with him. The concept of two lovers being separated by something brought to mind Kikyo, who was once separated from Inuyasha from deceit and death.

It could be said that they were reunited with the rebirth of her soul in the form of Kagome, but with how vastly different the two were, Sesshomaru did highly doubt this fact to be true.

Sesshomaru had his opinions, but the choices his half-brother made were his own. Ultimately, it was Inuyasha’s choice that allowed Kikyo to move on and find something in another.

Orihime works tirelessly for a year for a chance to meet Hikoboshi for a single day, and he would on occasion question if all that effort was worth seeing each other for one day. Yet another parallel he could draw between Orihime and Kikyo.

For all the sacrifices the woman had made for the greater good, all she gained in return was pain and exhaustion over being revived time after time after dying time after time. Her weary soul hadn’t known rest, and at the end of it all, she died a lonesome death.

What happiness did she have to balance out the hardships she’s suffered in her life? Was it all worth it in the end? It was a question he couldn’t ask her then, but it was something he’d ponder as he gazed upon the moon on lonesome nights.

The Tanabata festival had an impressively long history such that even Sesshomaru had known about it. It was originally introduced to Japan by Empress Koken in 755, and was celebrated by the imperial court aristocrats who would celebrate by stargazing, writing poetry, and holding contests.

It wasn’t until the Edo period (1603-1868) when the holiday became more widespread among the masses.

Sesshomaru was sure that if Rin had known about the custom, she would have enjoyed it, but the festival wasn’t popularized at the time. She may have wished for something like the health of others and for Jaken to grow in height, much to the imps' chagrin.

As a noble Demon, he’d heard of the celebration as he’d on occasion observed the follies of human nobility when he was bored. If anything, they knew how to amuse themselves, making the most of their short lives.

Centuries would pass and the celebration became more widespread until the entirety of Japan would celebrate year after year.

Today, during the Tanabata festival, people write their wishes on Tanzaku and attach them onto bamboo stalks. On the following day the Tanzaku are removed, cleansed in a river, then brought to a local shrine to be placed in a bonfire so the wishes may rise up and reach the Gods to be granted.

Historically, the Tanzaku were focused on improvement in one’s skills and abilities, using differently colored paper to represent specific facets of what they wanted to focus on, but customs grew lax over the years. Not everyone wishes for self-improvement, sometimes wishing for something different.

Some wishes have been for world peace, for their family to be healthy, to live a long life, to have fun every day, etc. It was quite cute to see what humans would wish for on their Tanzaku.

As curious as he was to know what she’d written on her Tanzaku, he respected her privacy by not stealing a glance. Still, he watched as she smiled and laughed with the local children who were excitedly running about, gushing about their dreams.

This woman, his intended, and the likely mother of his future children was a gentle yet stern soul. She had a strong maternal instinct, and she had the patience of a saint. She deserved the world and more to make up for the misfortunes she’d suffered in her previous life and this current one.

He’d watched as she helped the younger children attach their Tanzaku to the bamboo as some children have attached theirs on the lower branches earlier on that day. It was as clear as day how much she adored children and how fitting she would be as a mother.

It was witnessing small scenes like these that made him rethink his reservations about siring his own children. If nothing else, he had the confidence in knowing that Kikyo could keep him grounded. If his terse speaking habits or his stoic nature would cause misunderstandings or hurt in the children, she would be there to soothe them before she’d speak with him about how he was affecting the children.

As stoic as she may appear, she had a fiery disposition that would not back down from a necessary fight. Every bit a warrior now like she was in the past, she could figuratively put him in his place if he’d erred.

Their children would not turn out the way he or Inuyasha had: broken and hurt from the mistakes of their parents.

Times have changed and Sesshomaru has settled into his responsibilities of overseeing the welfare of Demonkind, laying down his blades to ensure their livelihood. One could say that the Inu-youkai had defanged himself, but they would be the first to learn firsthand that Sesshomaru had never allowed his fangs to dull in these times of peace.

Should anyone overstep their means, Sesshomaru would be swift to act and punish.

The Daiyoukai may not exactly have the faith in himself to be a decent Father, but he had the faith in Kikyo to help guide him to become one with her patience and care.

Standing to the side, he’d watched as she helped some children until some attendants have come over to relieve her of this self-appointed task.

Free to return to Sesshomaru’s side, their hands linked together once more.

“No, this Sesshomaru had not written a Tanzaku. The Gods would not be so keen to listen to a Demon, much less a second time.”

With no intention to elaborate, he lead them through the temple so they could marvel at the decorated temple, covered in colorful paper for the Tanabata festival. If she were curious about what he meant, she didn’t press him for details knowing that he would’ve elaborated himself if he wanted her to know.

At some point, they passed through a barrier, evident by a slight electric shock that ran through them, and they stood in the midst of a Demon festival.

Though they did not celebrate Tanabata themselves, it was boring to not indulge in festivities if humans were. This was a time for them to let loose and enjoy themselves. If any human were to stumble upon their fun, the human could just chalk it up to the high of the festivities causing them to hallucinate.

Hand in hand, they walked down a path with paved stones. A forest of tall thin green comes into sight.

“These bamboo trees have a high spiritual quality. They’re quite sturdy, so they’re quite appropriate for making furniture.”

Walking into the bamboo forest, the sounds of the leaves brushing against each other in the wind was a relaxing sound.

“The firefly demons like to rest here sometimes because of the sounds. There aren’t many water sources that are quiet enough for them anymore.” He says as some faint lights overhead flit about among the rustling leaves of the bamboo.

He turns to face her, letting go of her hand. A brief look of confusion crosses over her eyes, but she waits patiently to see what he has to say as usual. “This Sesshomaru has written a Tanzaku before, a long time ago.”

He takes her hands in his before they descend slightly to her wrists so he can feel her heartbeat through his fingertips. Of course, the slight pink in her cheeks betrayed her, but feeling her hastening heartbeat was yet another way to feel how his actions affected her.

It was quite cute, honestly.

He leans closer, gently resting his forehead against her own, looking deeply into her own eyes.

“I wished on a Tanzaku to live until I see you again, for another chance at something that should’ve been centuries ago.” Even if he knew it wouldn’t have worked back then with how stubborn he was and how slowly he came to terms with understanding his own emotions, if circumstances were different, he was sure he would have loved her then.

He hoped the Kami would understand with what intentions he wished to see her reborn again in modern times. No longer shackled with heavy responsibilities and without the pains of past betrayal and loss, she could be free to love and free to live.

Should she be reborn into the world again, may he have the chance to get to know her when she’s not constrained by her duties or her past traumas.

Sesshomaru wanted to know her in her truest sense, and see if she could bring down the lofty defenses around his heart to teach him what it was to love.

Kagome did not count as her rebirth, and there was no guarantee he could meet Kikyo again, and so he sought the grace of the human Gods to pull some strings to make it happen.

Surely the human Gods may be able to intervene with fate and allow Kikyo to have what she’d been owed for all her sacrifices.

“I believe your lofty human Gods granted my wish as a way to give you what should’ve been yours centuries ago.”

Happiness.

Letting go of her wrists, he brought her closer by wrapping an arm around the small of her waist, and the other over her shoulder. He brings them close to a kiss.

If he had a guess, the Gods could see the parallels of a Demon waiting for a human woman to be reborn to see her again, forfeiting his life aspirations to fight strong opponents to instead ensure the survival of weaker Demons, allowing them to integrate into human society.

Like Orihime, he had been putting in the work in the hopes to one day be reunited with someone whose company he’d been missing.

Did he think all his work had been worth it for the chance to be with Kikyo, regardless of how short their time together would be with her being a human?

He pulls away from the kiss to gaze upon her lovely, flushed features.

Yes, she made it all worth it.

Here’s a little sneak peek for my InuKag royalty au, “Crowned Jewel” coming Jan. 29th! 💕

Stomping down the hall, Inuyasha growled, ignoring the worried looks from the staff. After dealing with stubborn guards about their new post along their southern border, against the Great Forest and having to reassure many villagers about the new precautions, he was ready for some answers. Knowing his parents would still be awake, he stormed into his parent’s chambers, shocked to see the peasant girl from earlier, seated very close to his mother.

“What the fuck is she doing here, in your personal chambers?” He barked, narrowing his eyes at his Father, who promptly stood in front of the girl. Her fear filled the room and he heard faint words from his mother, reassuring her that he wouldn’t harm her. She’s scared of me? Freezing, he focused on his father’s approach.

“Language, son. You know your Mother doesn’t like that kind of speech.” Toga spoke softly, no doubt noting the girl’s fear as well. “What goes on in this room is none of your concern.”

“None of my concern?” He sputtered, his anger rising once more.

“We will work on your hair while my husband deals with our son.” Izayoi rose, grabbing a small comb from the vanity nearby, “Darling, will you send me Lady Sango when you are finished?”

“Of course, dear.”

Inuyasha watched silently as his mother, the literal queen, degraded herself by combing through the matted hair, something a servant should be doing and the woman’s eyes lowered to her lap. Her fear morphed into embarrassment, her hands clasped tightly together and Inuyasha wanted to snarl at the sight.

His demon thundered inside of him, his emotion ranging from confusion, to shock, to fury and back again. Inuyasha needed to get a grip on the bastard, before his father put him in his place. What is going with me? It’s like I can’t control myself since she appeared.

“Father, tell me what is going on, please. Why is she suddenly so important?” He demanded, his fists clenching.

“Now, Inuyasha, please leave us be and everything will be explained in due time.”

“I don’t understand what is so secretive? What did that phrase she spoke mean? Why are you calling for Sesshomaru and the others in the middle of the night? You’re not taking her in as a concubine, are you?” He knew he was beginning to ramble, but could no longer control himself. “You wouldn’t dare do that to Mother, would you?”

“Inuyasha!” Toga roared, his eyes flashing red. Taking a step back, Inuyasha swallowed his smart remark, knowing his father would never raise his voice, unless he was trying to refrain from losing his temper. “I would never do a thing like that to her, you very well know the Inu ways. She is mine as I am hers, so no. The girl is not a concubine. She is a guest in our home and she will be treated with the utmost respect. You will do well to OBEY MY COMMAND, AS I AM KING.”

Shit, he’s serious. Backing down, Inuyasha glanced at the woman, her eyes still downcast and his mind tumbled. Miroku was correct, something else was happening.

“Darling, Lady Sango please.” His mother’s soft voice called out.

“I’m heading out now.” Toga sighed, “Come son, we need to leave the ladies.”

He nodded silently, giving into his curiosity once more, peeking over his father’s broad shoulders. Surprised, he met the woman’s gaze once more, reminding him of the crystal blue ocean he loved to visit as a child. He felt the same feeling from before, layers of his soul being stripped away to reveal his bare heart for her. Just who is she?

Swiftly turning on his heels, Inuyasha headed in the opposite direction from his father, heading straight for the monk, who he was sure would know what to do next. He was going to find out who the hell the blue-eyed beauty was and why she was here.

I've gotten told by a couple of people what Hoegoshamaru said and

This isn't about height or age, like you wanted to put it.. That's not the point right now. She could've been a 10 year old baby 🚼 and tall as a freaking King Palm 🌴 (still gross but continuing...)

The point is on what we've being trying to tell you people for years. That Rin and her relationship with was/is meant to be as nothing 👏🏻 more 👏🏻than 👏🏻 something 👏🏻 innocent. Just a cute little companion who he take care along the other ones (Kohaku and Jaken).

Nothing more. Nothing less.

Because you keep insisting we're wrong for not seeing the oBvIoUS signs that they were actually in-love uwu since her poor 5 year old butt brought him fish and water.

Gurl you're the ones that sat down, drew him along her still reaching his knees looking 5 like always, being all rOmaNTic, and said "Yeah, that checks out".

Yes, Jaken is an adult. What a wonderful observation. I'm glad you could tell. But can tell what the other one is? It starts with K.

As he mentioned, he had nobody else to turn to for advice in Makai. How lucky he was that he had met one such as this Sesshomaru who knew, just a bit more than he did.

"Thank you, that is not taken for granted. And if there is anything I can do for you, please do not hesitate to call on me when the need arises."

A king wasn't without his own aid to offer. He was powerful enough and if he could take up arms next to this one, he gladly would. It wouldn't be the first time he'd wage war side by side with someone else. Even if it wasn't a war, it was what he had to offer him. As Yomi doubted any amount of money would mean anything to Sesshomaru in the first place.

"As presumptuous as it might sound, I wonder if you'd be interested in being his godfather if anything were to happen to me in the future?" A question he'd been contemplating in his head. Should he have asked it? It was too late now, he never backed down or denied the words that left his lips. Everything was said with some hint of authority and pride.

And as any father, he wished for Shura to have a good future, to prosper, to grow strong. So proud he would be once Shura finally surpassed him as king.. but that seemed like so far away in the current time. He might rest easier if he knew Shura would be guided by someone of similar ideas and power to his own if something were to befall him.

Discovery Of My Life In The Realms

Hello everyone! In this post today I will talk about how I found out I was from the realms and the steps I took to get where I am today. I found out about the realms back in 2020 when my mother Veivane told me she was dating sesshomaru at the time. I was extremely shocked. I couldn’t tell you how far my jaw dropped to the floor. Ever since I was younger when I was middle school, I was so into spells and I would do spells that I found on the internet not knowing it was fake until I got older and was told about it. I also did a mermaid spell after I had gotten into this amazing show called H20 just add water. I was super into supernatural beings from Vampires, Werewolves, Mermaids and etc. After I got told about the realms and how sesshomaru was dating my mom, this was also the same year where my mom took me to her kingdom for the first time and invited me to live in the mansion with her. Of course I said yes.

A year later after finding out about the realms, I did training for me to go up there willingly. This was in 2021. Mind you, I didn't know that I was even from there until later on but anyways for me to do the training in the realms, my sister star had to carry me there and sometimes my mom would carry me there too. It took me less than two years for me to master that ability and while that was going on my memory was extremely fuzzy however sometimes I would remember bits and pieces and would randomly get this strong feeling that I was in the realms. This lasted for a few years.

Back in 2022, towards the middle of that year when I used to live with Veivane on earth, I had training with my sisters Sesshia and Star up there that night so when I had slept but was woken up for a bit I had told her I had saw me wielding a sword made of fire and she told me that my sisters were working on how to wrap your sword in fire. I couldn’t believe it. My memory was slowly getting better.

In that same year, my memory has started to not become as fuzzy around the middle of august of 2022 and it was also the same year that I found out I was from the realms. Veivane and I had to mediate together for her to find out if I have any parents in the realms who had sent me down to earth and it turns out that I do. She found out that I had a mother named Jarmani who is from the realm of Roha. She’s an elemental witch and she had sent me down to earth to protect me. I’ve spoken to her once since veivane allowed her to posses her body. She talked about how she's thankful that Veivane and Sesshomaru had taken me in because without those two, I wouldn’t have a family. I also found out that I had a father named Alex who is also from Roha. He’s a sanguine vampire which basically means he feeds from blood. Since Alex and Jaramani were my biological parents, that makes me witch and vampire in the realms. (They’re no longer my parents. I got their dna removed from me so I’m now a full Lyricanian and demon)

Then in 2023, I was able to fully go there on my own and my memories has improved over the last few years. I’m able to remember everything but I need to focus and the memories will come to me with ease. It’s been such a long journey but I have met wonderful people along the way. I even met my boyfriend, Callea. I met him through veivane who introduced me to him on September 28, 2022 and we’ve been dating since then. He’s honestly such a wonderful person and im so thankful that I've met him. He’s everything I could ever want. I even met Coran and Zara who are my two sister’s biological parents. When I had met them for the first time, I was incredibly happy because they are the current Kings and Queens of duhsterra and meeting them was such an honor and also because their my step-parents as well. They are wonderful people. I love both my lyricanian family so very much! I can’t thank my family enough for being by my side and making me smile each and everyday. You all hold a place in my heart forever and always.

DUHSTERRA REALMS

Hello my name is Eleanor Eswua. I come from a realm called Duhsterra. The realms is a place where supernaturals and humans are born. Everyone that is born up in the realms have magickal forms and parents. Only a few selects earth forms can visit the realms through means of meditation, lucid dreaming, and astral projection.If you successfully achieve any of the three and can travel to the realms as an earth form, you go up to the realms in just a spiritual form without a body. If you have a magickal form and also a earth form, you are from the realms. But you won’t know that until you have a realm awakening or if someone from the realms brings you up there to awaken your magickal form. Once that happens your memories of the realms will be fuzzy and scattered. You’ll only remember bits and pieces of your life up in the realms. Nothing will make sense for the first two weeks, but as you get use to traveling between the realms and earth your memory will become more clean and you start remembering events and the things you do up there. Because your magickal form and earth form are now one, when you are awake on earth you are asleep in the realms just like if you are awake in the realms you are sleep on earth.

Like I said before my name is Eleanor Eswua. I live in Duhsterra and I am the princess of Duhsterra. I am born a vampire witch mermaid supernatural. My parents are King Coran Eswua and Queen Zara Eswua. My grandparents are Zafaro Finya and Helene Finya. We usually keep to ourselves up until a few months ago where I United the realm Lyricana and Duhsterra together. Lyricana is the realm I visit regularly to visit my adopted family that took me in when I was freshly new to the realms and my Duhsterra family hadn’t found me yet. My adopted family includes my mom Veivane Trovarti, my dad Sesshomaru Trovarti and my siblings, Starmaru, Sesshia,Sibella,Sawyer,Selene,Sitara, Samara, Soraya,Howard,Sergio, Sarang, Serenity, Sorya,and Sonya Trovarti. I’m so grateful for my adopted family for everything they did and still do for me and my parents for being the best family possible in both realms. I’m so glad I have them both and my wonderful adopted siblings for taken me in as their own siblings and not treating me any differently.

I just wanted to say I love all my family Lyricanian and Duhsterrian alike. You guys have made me into the wonderful person I am and I’m glad I met every single one of you guys

If you could rewrite yashahime what would you change as far as the plot and storylines?

OH BOY THE QUESTION THAT LITERALLY EVERYONE IN THIS FANBASE HAS WONDERED SINCE S1

and this is like. actually hard for me. which is odd bc i'm so invested in Towa Higurashi's character in general and like to think a lot of her but i've never done an extensive AU idea of how to rewrite Yashahime, bc until the clustfuck of the Grim Comet Arc at the very end of S2 i was mostly fine with things i just wished they had did it better, but

Towa not bringing back Setsuna right away. i may be biased but i fucking HATE when storylines do this. when a character dies at the end of an episode or story chapter, and we don't get the next one for MONTHS later, and they're immediately brought back. Guild Wars 2 did this shit too and i HAAAATE it. i feel like it should've been active endeavor, something that should've taken 4-6 episodes to complete. there should have been a mini arc that focused on Towa's efforts to make Tenseiga truly her own sword (like Inuyasha did with Tessaiga with slaying Ryukotsusei) to be able to bring back Setsuna and allow Towa to retain ownership of Tenseiga, a sword which suits her nature more than Sesshomaru's, a sword that Sesshomaru no longer needs. Rin, Tenseiga, and Kagura were the instrumental catalysts of Sesshomaru's growth: i think it would've been incredibly fitting for his daughter, who is more oriented on helping people in general compared to her father to have proven she is a worthy holder of the sword and for it to be her's. i REALLY like Zanseiken but i think her relying primarily on Kikujumonji would've been just fine. this one gets me heated and it's not even Yashahime's fault specifically this is just a trope in writing i fucking hate. don't kill off a character at the end of a book then next year when the next book comes out they're healed in chapter 1. if i ever do this as an author i will consider this my ultimate failing

delve more into Towa's mental health. i fucking LOVED when they actually addressed "hey Towa. you're traumatized and your obsession with protecting Setsuna when she really doesn't need it and has told you that to your face is a direct result of your coping with trauma and that's not really good." i always have this little ritowa scene in my head revolving around Towa like "I want to protect everyone. That is my goal... so... why don't we compromise, Riku-kun? I'll protect everyone... and you'll protect me." like, Towa finding a more healthy middle ground for her ambitions, although i DO love that by the end, during the Grim Comet, it's explicitly clear she wants to protect everyone. maybe this was bc of the rumors of s3 getting axed but i sincerely love how we saw Towa's desires to protect evolve from just Setsuna to the whole world.

keep Kirinmaru's personality more aligned with his S1 personality, although i still like the idea of using Zanseiken or something else as a trap to kill Towa to resurrect Rion. i really love Rion and i really love how much of a dark parallel to Sesshomaru that Kirinmaru was and his own willingness to essentially betray his sense of pride and honor for his daughter, but i still think IN GENERAL AS A WHOLE he should've kept his more prideful and honorable personality. i would've loved to see him clearly disgusted with himself for how cowardly his own plan is with Towa while also refusing to stop

do more with Rion i fucking love Rion so much DO MORE WITH RION. NOBODY EVER DRAWS TOWA/RION. I WANT MORE RION CONTENT IDK WHAT IT WOULD'VE BEEN BUT I WANTED MOR RION.

give Osamu Kirin a consistent ideology and ultimate master plan. him being Towa's final boss and ultimate personal ultimate enemy when Sesshomaru deals with Kirinmaru. that fight when she has to take him on in human form was great, i just think Osamu really needed his. own ideology to be consistent (i still don't mind him having gone back on his own goals in favor of making Rion the new King however)

keep Rin's general writing more in-line with her scenes of holding Bakusaiga to her neck and standing up to Kirinmaru for the sake of the kids. idk what exactly but i would've done SOMETHING that gave her an important job that she pulled off, like something that if not done would've fucked everyone over

actually have Meido Zangetsuha be plot relevant and used once Inuyasha gets out of the pearl like Jaken said it would back in S1

Moroha getting Meido Zangetsuha somehow. Meido Zangetsuha is cool. Moroha is cool. Moroha using Meido Zangetsuha would've been really cool. it could've played into the theme of inheritance from your parents, i think!

honestly Rion being a more proper conflict as a final conflict if they delved into her personality more also would've been good, even if Osamu was the true final villain

the Tree of Ages being a villain like what was apparently originally planned. i remember once during S1 i had this entire deal where Sesshomaru had made a pact with the Tree to take both twins to the modern era in safety only for Treekyo to completely fuck him over and only do it with Towa and telling Towa to her face that in her eyes she was just a backup in case things went wrong and she always meant for Setsuna to do this shit alone basically

so yeah- i don't know how much i would absolutely rewrite, i'd just want more focus on things

A confession and I'm open to discuss: TBH before Yashahime was published, I never think Sessrin will become canon 😅 I'm open to this ship before Yashahime-shit! (Shippers gonna ship anything! And some of the Sessrin fan fics are really good! ) I never regard them as parental relationship, he didn't raise or groom her in the original story written by Rumiko. (Just stop calling him something like a groomer!🤮) But I start feel uncomfortable seeing Sessrin after watching Yashahime anime - Not because of the age problem, but the OOC depiction, cold violence in their relationship and also...a lot of underaged fan arts coming out 😐 My childhood headcanon is: Their relationship is platonic, beyond sexual attraction.

Maybe they will travel together until she can no longer walk and settle in the village. Sesshomaru will come to visit and take care of her - watching her old and die... It's first time for the demon lord experiencing deep grief, like a human. And it's the time he is truly worthy to become the breast king. Again, it's always free to ship any ships even in a sexual way. I read all kind of weird characters ship and explicit sexual fan fics too! But the relationship in Yashahime anime is just sickening...I mean it's an official anime, really? 🤢 Sessrin shippers should be the first group of people hating it instead of being happy for it. Well, but we will see how Shiina gonna rewrite it and I will comment later.

Toonami Weekly Recap 12/17/2022

My Hero Academia Season 6 Paranormal Liberation War Arc EP#116 (03) - One's Justice: The Heroes continue their assault on the Gunga Mountain Villa, using their Quirks to take down the resisting villains. They also close all the exits to the assembly hall, with Tokoyami assisting Fat Gum, using Dark Shadow at full power to halt Re-Destro and his group from escaping. Dark Shadow warns Tokoyami after noticing Gigantomachia in the hall, but Fat Gum reassures him he will only move upon given orders by his master; he also reveals to Tokoyami that Hawks provided them with all this info. Meanwhile, Hawks uses his feathers to keep a distressed Twice at bay, preventing him from helping the Paranormal Liberation Front with his Double Quirk. Twice begins to break down, realizing that just like what happened with Overhaul, he has been tricked and everything has begun to fall apart because of him. Hawks tries to talk Twice into turning himself in and starting over, believing him to not be a bad person, but Twice refuses to listen, dedicating himself for the sake of the League's happiness. Hawks is easily able to deal with Twice's retaliation with his Quirk and is about to finish the job when Dabi suddenly appears, shooting his fire at the Hero, revealing he never truly trusted him. Dabi provides an opening for Twice to escape and assist the others, however Hawks manages to evade the fire, and despite being caught off guard by Dabi referring to him by his real name, "Keigo Takami", he is able to prevent Twice from fleeing, stabbing him in the back. One last Twice Double is able to reach Toga and Mr. Compress, saving them from a Hero, and apologizing to them for his mistake as he begins to fade away. Toga embraces Twice, thanking him for saving her, as he thinks about despite what Hawks claimed, he did have a happy life, as he turns to mush.

Made in Abyss: The Golden City of the Scorching Sun EP#06 (19) - The Luring: Riko considers making the trade, but is stopped by Majikaja and Maaa. As Riko tries to find a way to rescue Nanachi, a monster enters the village and begins attacking the Hollows. Vueko explains it is part of a ritual called the "Luring", where since the villagers cannot leave to hunt, they instead lure monsters inside village. As the battle rages on, Riko recovers her White Whistle, now carved into its true shape. Meanwhile, the battle begins to turn against the villagers, and the restaurant owner, Moogie, warns Riko to stay away. Instead, Riko observes the monster carefully and lays a trap that incapacitates it. However, the monster continues to attack the villagers, including Maaa. Riko is encouraged by Prushka's spirit to blow her White Whistle, which summons Reg and powers him up enough to defeat the monster. Wazukyan congratulates Riko and Reg and suggests to Riko that she obtain a piece of Faputa to trade for Nanachi's freedom. At the inn, Moogie and Majikaja voice their suspicions about Vueko since they don't recall ever seeing her before, and Vueko admits that she is actually one of the original Three Sages who founded Iruburu. She agrees to tell Riko, Reg, and their companions the story behind Faputa and the village's origins, noting that Wazukyan looked terrified after witnessing Reg's power.

Yashahime: The Second Act EP#42 (18) - The Collapse of the Windmill of Time: The Half-Demon Princesses meet Sesshomaru's noble dog-demon mother at her palace, who tells them that they can go the Windmill of Time and the doorway of time should open for them. To test them further, she summons Meidomaru of the Wrath of the Underworld. Near Mount Musubi, Kirinmaru uses his Bakuseiken to replenish his daughter's haku so she can move again. The rogue Beast King informs Rion and Riku about his dream to travel to the modern era and "save" humanity by destroying the Grim Comet. Rion refuses as accomplishing such a feat would bring about the Degenerate Age in the feudal era. Her father assures her that he has started procuring a new body for her: Towa. The Half-Demon Princess have trouble holding off Meidomaru as he is connected to multiple threads of fate due the grudges belonging to the many demons he had absorbed. With her new longbow given to her by her parents, Moroha's enhanced sacred arrow now enables her to break one's weapon and weaken them greatly, allowing his threads of fate to be seen by Towa. She uses the Zanseiken to absorb his demonic energies, which her grandmother recognizes as "the Sword of Amatsumikaboshi", and Setsuna cuts his threads of fate. Rion is shocked at what she has done to Towa, and Riku furiously engages in battle with Kirinmaru, stating that he would gladly sacrifice his artificial life for Towa. Using her late aunt's staff, Rion holds her father off, but accidentally runs Riku through with it, deeply devastating her. Kirinmaru abducts his own daughter and drugs her, flying off in pursuit of the Half-Demon Princesses. Having passed their grandmother's test, the girls are told of the curse placed on Zanseiken and that its owner will eventually inhabit Towa's body should her kon be further drained. Towa vows to master the Zanseiken, to which her grandmother says that she can do she sees fit. Akuru presents his pinwheel to Towa, who opens a time portal in one of the Windmill of Time's gears to return to the modern era. Close at hand, Kirinmaru summons Osamu to lead him to the future as hordes of demons come from the Windmill of Time. Within the Sacred Tree of Ages, Rin senses something big has just occurred. As they travel through the rainbow corridor, Towa vows that after destroying the Grim Comet, she will uphold the promise she had made to Rin about returning safe and sound.

And honestly? Either Lilly or Crowlyn.

Lilly went from being a dumb little teen based off of me when I was in elementary school, to a dumb young adult who doesn't afraid of anything. She's the kind of brave that leaves her house in her pajamas to get a better look at an ogre as it swats at people with a tree. She's the kind of gentle that stops and waits for bees that want to look at her dress. She calls a war-torn insectoid dragon beautiful. She stares down a murderous mage-king when all the powerful men around her are afraid to look him in the eye. She's not naive, but she has a very child-like sense of awe for the world around her and an insatiable curiosity that she's unwilling to sacrifice. I'm honestly very proud of how she's grown up, and if I was a girl, I'd want to be a girl like her.

Crowlyn, on the other hand, went from being a Sesshomaru rip-off to being a genuinely deep and complex person. He's a bit of a Knight Templar Older Brother, and a very queer mage prodigy. He dresses like David Bowie's Goblin King for the aesthetic and treats the world around him like a mix between a chessboard and a Broadway stage. He's an ice cold bastard who'd sell his mother to Satan just to watch her be dragged away. He's a sweet little dork who makes flowers out of magic for boys he finds cute. He's a sociopath. He's a traumatized child. He loves sunsets, and sunrises, and the way rain smells. I'm glad I worked so hard on him.

Inuyasha AU Fics

I'm a sucker for a good alternate universe fic and the Inuyasha fandom definitely provides! Here are my top 5 Inuyasha AU fics!

1. The King's Mistress by dolphingirl0113:

Rating: T

Summary: Kagome and Kikyou Higurashi, rivals in every way, both find themselves in love with their King. But when a man at court brings Kikyou's scandalous past with him and threatens her life, Kagome must choose between old loyalty and a passionate new love.

This is an InuKag fic that checks all the boxes for a good Inuyasha story: 1) Kikyo vs Kagome 2) Naraku as a bad guy (of course) and 3) character growth – especially for Inuyasha himself. Overall, this is easily the best fic I have ever had the pleasure of reading.

2. Dog Skin by sublimetrickster:

Rating: M

Summary: Kagome lovers her father, King Naraku. Unfortunately, he starts loving her in the wrong way and disguised, she escapes. A kindhearted hanyou prince rescues her, but can he protect her from the darkness that pursues her?

Another InuKag fic; however, this is based on the Grimm fairytale Thousandfurs (also known as Allerleirauh). From the first chapter I was completely engrossed and physically could not put my phone down until I finished. The plot is incredibly developed and the characters are true to form despite being in such an unfamiliar setting.

Note, this story is not rated M for smut, rather for language and adult themes.

3. A New Leash on Life by ForgettableFox:

Rating: M

Summary: Sesshomaru, an Inugami, has lived for over five hundred years protecting his master's shrine and sacred mountain. When the final descendent of the shrine passes away, he finds himself suddenly unfettered and free to wander the earth. How does a creature once bound by so much loneliness find the will to continue to live? An accident involving a young woman changes his life forever.

Our first SessKag fic! This is an amazing fic that provides a very unique plot that expands on the original character types. The romance is very well written; yet, there is so much more to this story than simply romance. We get to watch a confused Sesshomaru find purpose in life through a chance meeting with a human woman and it is incredibly sweet to read about.

Note, this story does have some smut in it so be cautious if that is not your thing!

4. Hunted by RoseDragonWitch:

Rating: T

Summary: During a hunting trip, Kagome's family go after a half wolf/half dog called Quicksilver. One night she turns into a wolf after wearing a strange jewel to bed; now she ends up crossing paths with the legendary dog and sees what it's like to be hunted.

Another InuKag fic! I read this one a super long time ago, but it stuck with me! It is a very unique concept and the author's spin on Inuyasha's hanyo-ness by making him half dog/ half wolf is incredibly interesting to read.

5. Like Magic by KeiChanz:

Rating: T

Summary: Kagome's two year old son is in hysterics after being in a car accident and he won't let the medical professionals get close enough to treat his mother for her injuries. Kagome is at her wit's end trying to console her little boy, but thankfully a handsome silver-haired EMT knows just the trick to calm him down.

This is an amazingly detailed InuKag one shot that had me hooked after literally the first paragraph. It is a long one shot but definitely worth the read! Not to mention, its actually pretty funny to.
