do u hate the hiyoko anime and if so why... And is that why u call it the [redacted] anime... Or is it either of the other two haniwa anime i don't care about since it has no one i care about (except chiaki ig but he's already dead sorry spoiler)

long story short, yup, you're right on the money~! the [redacted] anime does, indeed refer to the hiyoko anime, and i hate it.

i've pretty much covered the reasons in quite a few other posts, but in short, the things i hate most about it are 1) what they did to the characters (especially mona, nagisa, and yujiro i mean, the second lip who just kinda exists sometimes), and 2) the fact that they had so much potential to make a great anime and yet.. they turned it into a victim-blaming, viewer fanservice festival. with idol music (sometimes). but hey, at least the cover song endings slap really hard (especially kenkota romeo).

i won't really get into my thoughts about the movies and the other anime (except to say that they were all hot messes in their own ways i m s o r r y), but i think it's safe to say that... maybe honeyworks anime projects just aren't destined for greatness...?
