(via SEARCH AND RESCUE DOGS)
It’s a well-known fact that already becomes a cliché that dogs are “man’s best friend,” but surely there can be no greater act of friendship than to save a person’s life.

FOUND! FOUND ALIVE!!!
one month ago, a convicted murderer stalked a SAR professional, his estranged spouse, and stole her Search and Rescue K9s, her vehicle, and her mother's checkbook. He's been on the run since.
Until today.
Today, the FBI took the scumbag into custody, and the handler is on her way to Texas to retrieve her three certified SAR K9s, AND the healthy eight puppies that one of those dogs delivered a few weeks ago.
Today, every SAR page on Facebook is cheering and celebrating and changing their covers with the poster of the announcement that they were all found safely... and I can't help but cry in such relief.

Blessed Mother of All, thank you for having kept them safe. FOUND!

Physically fine, spiritually the equivalent of one of those hyperintelligent herding dogs that got adopted by a suburban family of four with half a yard, getting yelled at for breaking into the fridge and herding the children.

Apollo (1992-2006) was a German Shepherd search and rescue dog who worked with the New York Police Department’s K-9 unit.
Handled by Officer Peter Davis, Apollo was one of the first search and rescue dogs to arrive at Ground Zero on September 11, 2001.
The team arrived just 15 minutes after the collapse of the towers.
The conditions were incredibly hazardous; the air was thick with smoke, dust, and dangerous chemicals. The debris field was unstable.
At one point, Apollo even fell into a pool of water created by the firefighters’ efforts, but he was unharmed and eager to continue his work.
Apollo and his handler worked 18-hour days during the initial stages of the rescue operation, searching for survivors amid the rubble.
The duo was also tasked with locating the remains of those who had perished in the attack, aiding in the difficult process of identification.
In recognition of his bravery, Apollo received the Dickin Medal in 2002, which is often described as the animal equivalent of the Victoria Cross.
Apollo passed away in November 2006, but his legacy lives on as a symbol of the special bond between humans and animals, particularly in times of great need.

The PDSA Dickin Medal was instituted in 1943 in the United Kingdom by Maria Dickin to honour the work of animals in World War II.
It is a bronze medallion, bearing the words "For Gallantry" and "We Also Serve" within a laurel wreath, carried on a ribbon of striped green, dark brown, and pale blue.
It is awarded to animals that have displayed "conspicuous gallantry or devotion to duty while serving or associated with any branch of the Armed Forces or Civil Defence Units."
The award is commonly referred to as "the animals' Victoria Cross."

i think i forgot to share but I got a puppy this summer.
Her name is Pluto and shes an Italian Waterdog, Logotto Romagnolo in Italian.
She loves water in any form, bringing stuff, sitting on my lap, cuddling and digging into field mice holes.
She met Bonnie already and is a little scared of her but Bonnie loves her and really watches out for. Shes also already a really good Arena dog, sitting pretty patiently in her corner when I do stuff with Bonnie.

Remember the incredible acts of heroism they are capable of. They truly embody the spirit of friendship and loyalty that all dogs are known for.

OKAY ALSO
I've talked about banjo a bit and I think I've finally settled on what kind of dog he would be.
Border collie in my heart. A smart dog for a smart boy. William would have for sure trained this dog to go out on investigations with the group.
He. Was. A. Good. Boy.
And honestly I have a serious urge to write a fic from Banjo's POV but I don't want to cry today
This!!! This is what I picture when I think of Banjo

About your opinion about Chase changing his occupation from being a cop dog to a service dog, I disagree. Even if they changed Chase's occupation, it's not going to work as people would still think about Cop Chase rather than the new Chase. You can't erase Chase from being a Cop since it's his character since the beginning. What Nickelodeon should do is to minimize Chase's appearance on merch & toys. And they should start putting other pups on merch especially Rocky and Zuma whose usually left out on some group merch. While inside the show, they should minimise Chase's Cop Rescues and add more Spy Rescues since his Spy Rescues are more similar to his Cop rescues (and much more better as well). And perhaps them using Chase's Spy Outfit more often on some merch.
The reason i want Chase to drop out is to show you can switch careers. Besides those people will just complain no matter might as well change it XD
But also yes Chase is - was - a cop but that no longer defines him. You aren't bound by your past and I think that's an important lesson to learn. He can still do rescue stuff, but as far as cop theming goes that's going out the door. As for Rocky and Zuma they do deserve more attention but that's more on changing marketing tactics.
